ASTROLOGY BOT
1.2k words, just timeskip akaashi overthinking and crushing on gn!reader. LOL
akaashi has always considered himself ‘on the fence’ when it comes to superstitions and signs from the universe.
he might say ghosts aren’t real, but never goes near a supposedly haunted site just in case. he’ll ignore videos titled “for you” if he can’t relate, say it must have been a sign only after something goes wrong, and never acts on them even if he knows he has to.
but he can’t deny that he thinks about it throughout the day when it’s something he hopes is true—that maybe he’s tried out a few filters and trends to see if you, his crush of way too long, were his soulmate.
it’s bokuto this time, though, that sends him a sign.
a tweet, really.
an astrology bot on twitter that tweeted 17 minutes ago— “sagittarius, tell them you like them. they like you, too.”
AKAASHI!!!
i told you!!!
i turned their post notifications on to see if they’d say anything funny again and LOOK!!!!
keiji watches his friend’s texts come in through as notifications, eyes mostly fixed on the tweet, re-reading it over and over.
it’s a minute before he texts back.

he’s vaguely aware of bokuto sending another text with his name in all caps before he turns off his phone. it lands somewhere beside him on his comforter, and he takes off his glasses if only to run his hands down his face.
there’s a feeling he gets, akin to both butterflies and a 10 meter drop, when one of these bots decides to let his imagination get away from him.
for a few minutes keiji lets himself think it might be true, and that you think about going on dates with him the same way he does with you.
the latest idea he had was taking you to a new board game cafe that had opened nearby. he had skipped then swiped back up to its ad—a perfect spot for couples looking to spice up a regular cafe date!
he hadn’t closed his curtains properly that night, and the moon lit up his room while he stared at the ceiling. would you be competitive? would you rather play a co-op game?
would you see him sipping on his drink, and ask to have a taste?
he thought about how he might accidentally have some foam above his lip, and how you’d softly laugh before tapping above your own to signal his appearance. he cringed at the possible humiliation of looking silly in front of you, but it went away with the foam you’d gently swipe with your thumb, or maybe even hold his face to kiss away instead. you’d tease him and say it was as sweet as him.
but it’s nonsensical.
as far as keiji knows, whoever runs the account is using a random generator to pick a sign and bullshitting every tweet in their drafts.
it’s almost always only a sentence anyway.
but does that mean it’s a sign that this one was two?
keiji forces himself to stop thinking and takes a deep breath, letting the warmth hit his palms still covering his face. silence washes over him, and he lets his ears focus on the traffic outside, and the sound of the washing machine running a couple of rooms away.
but then he thinks about you. and he scrunches his eyes shut and groans, hands moving to grip his hair before he rolls over onto his stomach.
there’s a thud as his phone hits the ground while he pulls the blanket to cover his head.
sagittarius, tell them you like them. they like you, too.

not just tell them you like them, as if it was a shove to be courageous for once, but they like you, too.
did you like him, too?
was he good enough for you to like him?
did you hate him?
was he going to trust an astrology bot as uninformed about your feelings as he was?
maybe more importantly, was he going to let a bot dictate whether he finally confesses to you after almost a year of pining? a year based on the fact that one day you held the elevator door open for him with a smile and already knew what floor he needed?
(you had noticed him as the new employee, though he didn’t notice you while busy getting used to his job. he made sure to note the fact you got off the floor above him so he could press the button for you next time.)
and keiji doesn’t really believe in signs or the supernatural. he doesn’t want to let himself, because if he does then there’s probably a ghost in that shut-down building on his way to work, he’s gotten himself twenty years of bad luck, and he’s big enough of a coward that the universe decided to take it upon itself to tell him that itself.
but he’s hiding under his blanket when the absurdity of it all hits him—the anxiety and what-ifs and pretending he didn’t know you liked going for lunch a little earlier than him, and that he didn’t plan his break to say hello—and he feels like he’s sixteen again.
and maybe if there’s one thing he doesn’t want to feel other than being rejected, he thinks it’s being sixteen again.
so he jolts up.
and somewhere, in the back of his mind, keiji wonders if the universe jolted up with him, excited to see where this goes.
adrenaline working, he reaches for his glasses and fumbles to put them on with one hand while the other feels the floor to find his phone. the bright screen makes him squint, and the notification of bokuto’s “AKAASHIII :((” welcomes him before anything else.
sagittarius, tell them you like them. they like you too.
the tweet seems to be engraving itself into his mind as his shaky fingers hold his phone, and he taps your icon.
he skims the last text you had sent,
thanks keiji!! i’ll see u tomorrow then :) and remember we get off early!
it's a little embarrassing how his chest tightens at you his name and a smiley face. but he goes to type one himself, spending a second to mentally tell the astrology account they’re changing lives, but nothing more or else he thinks he might throw up—
btw if you’re free, did you want to grab food after work? there’s a cafe i wanted to check out with you :)

idk how bad it is in the US but disclaimer this is coming from me, a canadian 🤪
be aware of ur surroundings !!!
seems obvious but a lot of people say to act like a normal shopper and just ignore everyone else. but honestly, normal shoppers react to people squeezing by, they’ll look around to see things. lots of sephoras are crowded and you wont notice if there’s an SA right behind you. keep an eye out or bring a friend. also, certain mall locations have LPs in BRIGHT RED shirts.
2. body concealing is ur best friend here
shoving a palette or even a small liner into ur bag is gonna look super sus… the cameras are REALLY good here. place the item on top of your phone, hold it close to you and wait for a bit until you can slip your phone into ur bag or pocket naturally. or reach into a shelf and slip an item into your sleeve, then pull out another item to look at.
3. WATCH FOR THE CAMERAS.
i’ve seen people say that the cameras here are good, to the point where they can ZOOM INTO your bag and see the item dropping in. don’t risk it. find a good blind spot or crouch down. get a friend to lookout. don’t get caught in 4k.
4. this one’s kinda hard - but if a SA sees you pick up an item, drop it and come back to it later.
in my posted storytime they got caught bc the SA saw them holding something - then suddenly they weren’t. make sure the SA SEES you put the item down. once, an SA saw me with a few items so i asked my friend something like “hmm, should i get the eyeshadow or the eyeliner?” thinking i would just conceal the one that i “put down”… but an SA saw and was like “omg just get both! they’ll look so good on you!” and i was like ugh… but again if you’re never carrying anything then it’ll look weird. you ARE shopping right?
5. if you can, find locations that aren’t connected to a mall.
these locations are usually WAYY less busy. whenever i go to my stand-alone location, there’s literally 3 other people in there with me and all the SAs are bored to death.
6. if you get asked if you need help, personally i like asking them for something you know they don’t have.
for example - i’ll check on the website to see if the location i’m going to carries a certain product, then if they don’t i’ll remember it and ask the SA that greets me if they have that product in stock. they’ll say no, and you can act all sad and just say that you’ll look around for a bit. you’ll get left alone!! tip for finding these products - look up viral products or perfumes, a lot of stores don’t have all the perfumes in stock all the time.
7. in terms of how to dress and act
i see SO many posts on here telling you to do your makeup all fancy or “dress like you could buy the whole store”… DONT. you’re gonna be so much more memorable that way, more attention grabbing than if you just had like. clean girl makeup or whatever. be nice to SAs !! where i am, a lot of them are super chatty and honestly i don’t mind talking to them, they’re really fun. just don’t go over the top but i’m sure you get the idea.
i hope this wasn’t just a useless ramble 🙏 ik a lot of this is probably like… duh but sometimes when ur in there all common sense just escapes u yk??

Vol 9 recap start! It's late and I'm not having that many clever thoughts, so more just...reacting and saving cool panels :D
Chapter 1:
Aww Nico and Miss Melanie checking to see how Livio is doing. Nico's really got the big brother vibes.

Smiling and laughing little Wolfwood! This is killing me with so much cuteness. Also, love how he got his big Wolfwood nose as a kid too (I mean, of course he does, but then you never know, an author might make all kids look kinda similiar even unintentionally by giving them big kid eyes, small noses and such stuff...it's just nice to see distinct facial features drawn in different age states)

Livio not saying anything to that in that one panel is telling a lot actually. Now we know in what way he himself is tied to that orphanage...does he consider it a burden too? I wonder if Chapel struck a nerve with that sentence.
And just like that I knew I was gonna like Livio. Oooh he had it coming.
Hmm love this page. It really feels like the start of something.
Chapter 2:
So so proud of him...I read other bookclub posts about how Wolfwood symbolizes the humanity that CAN change and boy is that right.
I can only imagine Nightow having SO much fun drawing this!! :DD I have no idea but if I'd have to guess I'd say he was just waiting to draw a full page cool blockbuster scene of Wolfwood riding a motorcycle with an explosion in the backgrounds. Probably been wanting to do this since some volumes. And finally got his chance!! Cause there was no need to draw this so action-movie epic-like and he still did, hehe.
First of all, this page here looks so cool! Wolfwood is so shapey, but also the pose and composition...*mwah* Then in this fight we get to see just how good of a fighter Wolfwood actually is. Not that we didn't witness that before, but it was often together with Vash, or if alone, like with Ninelives, he was struggling quite a bit. But here to me it felt like we get this glimpse of a trained assassin he once was, fully in control of the situation, being fast and efficient (without killing).
Such badassery!!! I'm a big fan of how Livio, despite being fully indoctrined, still kinda protects the orphanage too! Well, maybe it's also because Chapel is prob sitting there too and they still need to use the orphanage as bait but STILL! I chose to believe that at this point some point inside Livio was still acting out of attachment to his old home.
Chapter 3:
Hey! That's not a nice thing to say boy! D: Also, she's obviously trying to reassure the kids so don't make them more scared by saying it won't do anything!
Oh fuck. The kids are talking about Nico here but this obviously applies to Vash, as well. Wolfwood can not rely on Vash now who is not around to help.
Also, may I say, what an utterly gorgeous drawing of Wolfwood and Livio.

Chapter 4:
Oh I misremembered, he DID mean to kill Livio? Or only momentarily put him out of order, knowing that he has SOME kind of regeneration abilities? I'm not quite sure now. What I do know is that Chapel has a creepy grin and I want that old man out of my face.
Ah hm maybe I should read at least the next page before rambling off. He really only wanted to incapacitate him. I'm relieved!
Rude! You didn't need to throw him through a suddenly spawned set of wood!
At this rate, Wolfwood must be riddled with bullets. Shot from behind, from the front, lost a HUGE amount of blood from his shoulder...
...and yet he's still going on. Oh my boy he's such an awesome character.
(Also quick side note, love how Nightow draws hands)

This is only the second time we're seeing these vials being used, right? Funny how quickly they became such an important plot device. (I wonder when Nightow planned them into the story...I'm guessing kinda late? Just wondering)

Your turn for a Ninjago question!
Which season's your favourite?
Hmm. I suck at picking favourites. It's made worse by the fact it's been a while since I've rewatched anything but season 1. So uh, I guess I'll answer this question backwards from worst to best. Have a very rambly, vaguely ordered list :)
I never watched much past S10 - the move to 11 minute episodes was really jarring and only seemed to work well for that one bit of lore for Wu and Garmadon in Crystallised. Which is great, but it's not the actual story, so :/
You've already seen my hatred for the Oni trilogy. Really all I wanted to add there is that I count it as one season, because it has the same plot structure as a regular season, but stretched out over a year for god knows why. I remember making remarks back in the day that it straight up felt like season 4 but longer and edgier, down to the bait-and-switch love interest and end-of-season war.
Hands Of Time I think is generally glossed over in the fandom, and understandably so. I remember they made jokes about iPhones and also captured Borg and there were snakes or whatever. It promised we were going to explore Kai and Nya's family dynamic and then. I'm sure they did something there? Wu's sacrifice was memorable, but absolutely nothing else was. It felt like the new writers were given a script for what Ninjago was known for, but never actually watched the show.
Season 6 I think had a good initial impact on me because of its sky pirate aesthetic but the longer it went on... Eugh. You Already Know
Season 3 I remember, but only for Zane's sacrifice and Garmadon's moments. There were really good character moments in there, but overall there wasn't much going on.
So that strikes it down to 1, 2, 4, and 5.
4. I think 2 comes last by default. I don't dislike it and find a fair bit of it fun, but they really did sap most of Lloyd's personality once he got aged up. There are filler episodes (which are fun, but still), and a second half of the season that drags on until the final fight that everybody was waiting for.
I think Garmadon had some really good moments in here, both funny and dramatic (and especially with Misako). But I think that's still eclipsed by season 1's setup of him. I've drawn fanart of it before but Misako could've been one of the funniest character premises the series had and it's a shame her character was never capitalised on.
3. Possession, as cool as some of the character moments are, is a season I think I liked as a kid mainly because of its ghost aesthetic. Which is amazing, for the record. The art directors were absolutely on point there, and the atmosphere of places like the caves, the washed-up town of Stix, and the sheer scale of the final battle are still burned into my brain.
Character-wise, it's quite nice in showing Kai's loyalty and caring towards Lloyd, and great in that it actually gave Nya a proper character arc. But a lot of the exploration of other characters feels more like... lip service? Cole is a fantastic leader and willing to sacrifice himself for the team, and now might have to deal with being a ghost. Zane sometimes has to deal with things beyond his control as a robot. Wu's carelessness as a mentor actually got one of his students killed back in the day.
What do we do with that? I don't know. I might be overlooking things but the fact these aren't truly followed up with always felt off to me. I want to say Morro himself is sort of representative of this, but I'd need another post and a rewatch to detail my thoughts on him properly.
1. I don't think I want to decide between them: season 4 and season 1.
Tournament of Elements had practically everything I wanted from Ninjago back in the day. It's got some really heartfelt dialogue about the team having broken up after season 3 (as short as that is), it's focused on the more interesting of the two Senseis, it's got espionage and revolution and this whole grand hotel to have ridiculous fights in.
It's not as laser-focused on adding to the ninja's characters as other seasons, but in lieu of that you get a lot of expansion on what we already had, and the best written plot in the entire show.
Like you know something is up with Chen from the very beginning, and so do the ninja, but you have to keep pushing on just to see what happened with Zane. I kept expecting the plot to follow a clear structure and get boring or drag out the mystery of what was going on, but they just kept switching it up whenever I thought things were going perfectly.
You thought the whole team would make through the tournament? Nope! But Cole did find Zane! Holy shit! You thought uniting the elemental masters would be easy? Nope, one of them's a fucking spy. She's literally the main villain's daughter! You thought this'd just be about Chen stealing everybody's elements? Nope, he wants to revive the long dead and conquer the world. Have fun fighting a war!
It's genuinely fascinating how much the plot evolves over the season's runtime, with everybody doing their own separate things. Not every twist works, but the writers clearly put some amount of thought into all of them, and it makes me love the season despite some of its, well, 'culturally insensitive' plot points, as Pythor might say.
Season 1's strengths lie with its characterisation instead of the story, but I still like it for largely the same reasons as season 4.
What really drew me back into Ninjago out of all the action shows back in the day was that instead of just being another 'dumb action show for boys,' it was about a bunch of friends growing and learning as they prepared to grow up. The ninja have to deal with things kids know intimately: absent parents, self esteem issues stemming from your social status, self-centeredness vs being a normal person, discovering your own heritage, feeling excluded, and coming out.
The side characters are also all fantastic. Pythor's delightfully smarmy as a villain. Garmadon's both the most dramatic theatre kid you've ever seen and the sweetest father to Lloyd. Even Lloyd had a lot to do back here! This is the only time I've seen a sad white(-coded) boy villain work out, because he's a child looking for friends. He's genre savvy due to him being Garmadon's son, and smart in suggesting that the ninja steal back the fangblades from Pythor, but he's also still like, 7.
And while the season doesn't have as strong a plot as season 4, I still think small things like the fangblades being stolen from both sides and having the ostensive 'villain' defeat the Great Devourer were fantastic ideas within the constraints of a very structured story.

20 Questions for Writers
Felt a little like rambling through some answers about writing and AO3. Feel free to play if you're up for it!
How many works do you have on AO3?
200 at the moment, though of those there are a few that are prompt challenge works because they were hardly enough to be considered a full story on their own.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
985,325 words and counting, which makes me want to pull the word counts from the various WIPs that haven't made it to AO3 yet but ♫ patience is a virtue ♫ (that I'm clearly struggling with at the moment).
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I've written for the Hiddleston, Evans, Brühl, Mikkelsen fandoms - and have a few WIPs that haven't made it to the point of being posted yet but are in development. (And always am open to prompts though I haven't posted anything about the word prompt challenge in awhile... hmm)
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
You've Only Just Arrived (actor!TWH)
Unsettled (actor!TWH au)
The Long Journey Home (TFATWS Baron Zemo/Sokovian reader/Bucky Barnes)

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes. Nearly always and likely far too soon after they're posted. Comments are fantastic for learning what pieces of the work really resonated, or what needs to be amended going forward because it didn't land the way that was intended.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Where we've left off in Unsettled probably allows that story to claim the title (which arguably that story wins angstiest anyway), but standing alone I'd say there's a fair few oneshots that could qualify. If you consider snippets of What If, there's one from the LJH world that would win hands down, but I don't consider those snippets as full fics...
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Completed works - probably Lakeside or The Journalist (proper). Where we've left off in You've Only Just Arrived is setting us up for the happy ending that will inevitably occur.
8. Do you get hate on your fic?
I've had a couple comments that stemmed more from misunderstanding than seemed grounded in hate. It was easily clarified and the issue remedied (at least for the first thing that springs to mind).
9. Do you write smut?
Yup.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Haven't had the opportunity yet, but never say never.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes. Quite a shitty feeling when your work is posted without your consent. Please don't do that.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not to my knowledge.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
The Heart of a Villain (jaguar-villain!TWH)
14. What‘s your all-time favorite ship?
I very much enjoy creating [insert character here]/ reader (or original character) ships within various fandoms. My current favorite ship I'm working on isn't even posted yet, but head over heels for villain!Brühl. In terms of a ship I'll always love, though I haven't written for it, is Evelyn & Rick O'Connell from The Mummy (1999)/ The Mummy franchise.
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Never say never. I've had a few peter out from my attention being drawn elsewhere, but fully intend on going back and finishing out what I started.
16. What’re your writing strengths?
I'd estimate that when the dialogue flows it flows really well? When I reread that's what I tend to enjoy the most, along with the emotional connection to the characters. Then again, having lived in those worlds in order to write them... biased opinion. So very biased.
17. What’s your writing weaknesses?
It varies fic to fic honestly. Sometimes the scene doesn't want to be described and it's like pulling teeth to get anything in there. I'd classify the umpteen ongoing WIPs as a weakness as well. The urge to chase the other characters, the other story, and let the ones active/in progress languish... it's something I'd like to improve on, at least.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I've used it as a storytelling element in a few works at this point. I tend towards including the translation in { brackets } for clarification - so long as the characters know the language they're speaking or overhearing. (And please please if you spot anything that's not correct I'm always open to amending the errors!)
19. First fandom you wrote for?
First ever isn't posted here, or to AO3 either. I doubt I'll ever pull the docs and notebooks together to transcribe the Backstreet Boys works - but I suppose never say never holds in that situation too. First that is here and AO3, after I gave myself permission to start writing again, is You've Only Just Arrived.
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
Too difficult a question. There's too much of me in the words, in the characters. I love each of them for varying reasons.

putting my responses under the cut bc ik i'm gonna ramble lol
(answering this one about Pulse Point, my sci-fi wip!)
What is the main lesson of your story (e.g. kindness, diversity, anti-war) and why did you choose it?
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure what the overarching lesson is. I think as I start actually writing more of the narrative (as opposed to just planning + writing snapshots of scenes), It'll be more clear? but some main themes, at least for specific characters, are dealing with grief, burnout, and attachment.
2. What did you use as inspiration for your world-building (e.g. real-life cultures, animals, famous media, websites)?
oh man i have sooo many small things. some governments/cultural groups have IRL inspiration, a lot of the characters are based off of myself or people that I know, and I have an entire save folder on instagram of cool things i want to include somehow, not to mention pinterest boards.
3. What is your main character trying to achieve, and what are you as the writer trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, help readers grow as a person?
As of rn, I'm set up to have multiple main characters, and i'm not suuuper hyped on how i've fleshed out all of their motivations/plot importance, but the main conflict of the story is trying to prevent a cold war from escalating. mainly, i just want to write it to prove to myself that i can, and hopefully make characters that people can relate to, enjoy reading about, and grieve :)
4. How many chapters is your story going to have?
I. well. hmm. at the moment, looking at like the entire stretch of plot that i could theoretically write about, it's like. multiple books, possible. definitely at least 20 for the immediate plotline ???? I've never finished any of my long-form writing projects so i really have no clue!
5. Is it fanfiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it?
original content all the way. I don't even know if i'm going to end up posting it (or where) because I don't know if I'll finish it! i'd like to, though, and if i do it'll either be free to read on my ao3, or i'll try and get it actually published.
6. When and why did you start writing?
i really don't know. I've kind of always been writing? When I was pretty young, i started writing down my dreams/daydreams because they were very vivid and I wanted to keep the details straight on their plotlines and characters. Started writing to post back in like 2021 with some fanfics for an old fandom.
7. Do you have any words of encouragement for fellow writers of Tumblr? What other writeblrs do you follow?

12. okay okay hc time. so the thing is siffrins are not very subtle creatures right. so i think that just like odile was suspicious of the time loops before having enough info to really put the pieces together, she'd be suspicious as all hell of loop in a post-canon scenario where they join the family. while they'd still keep their façade up there'd be all these little things that she can and would notice. especially considering her own guilt that she expresses in act 6 for not pushing more to find out what was wrong she would confront them so quickly about it and they would not react well because in addition to pineapples siffrins are also extremely allergic to being vulnerable. also this odile may be a near perfect copy but not quite, not theirs, a complete stranger wearing her face- loop wouldn't go full act 5 but they'd definitely ramp up their playful exterior out of desperation and flee.
odile ends up the first to know (besides siffrin of course) after siffrin is 👀 at them and loop has to experience the other side of self to self therapy momence. self-recognition through the other (derogatory but necessary bc if siffrin has to start opening up to the others then so does loop it's not fair for only one siffrin to). maybe going the 'if you got to tell them about my time loops i get to tell them about this if you don't' type thing but not in like a manipulative or getting back at them way more a 'i know you'll never actually say it otherwise but you do have to come clean eventually' thing if that makes sense. bc how are they supposed to start healing from it if they won't even admit it
she takes it surprisingly well; she'd only push to a certain point (not as necessary to like with siffrin and his wish, the universe isn't breaking over it) and let loop know that while she may not be their odile they're still a part of the family all the same and that she's there for them too not just siffrin. may ramble more @ you later on discord about how i perceive loop's relationships with the rest of the group bc this question has me rotating them in my mind

Follow up to last ask but first of aaaaaa, thanks a lot and really sorry on the long ask there! Got a small idea that after chapter 4, the level threat just goes on to world danger kind of shenanigans. But still, I tend to go on long rambles on things I'm interested in so hope that's alright. What I was trying to ask on last ask was if you have other interpertations of what you posted about us being Oreca Battlers, inspirations are the best for trying to figure out what's going on inside Oreca despite having no clue on what the lore each chapter have. Another thing too for the OSTs too, they're distinct from one another that if the same character there's at least at different tempos and different kinds of musics as if conveying something it's just aaaaa-
P.S. I dunno if it's normal on what happened when I was playing Oreca back at Artha the same day I said in one of my asks before, but I saw what's called the Sky Kingdom on the top corner of new chapter 2 (basically Rock's chapter if I were to call it). I didn't go there cause I'm scared cause what if something strong came out and finish things in one move, that and me not knowing what to pick after so long not playing Oreca. I dunno if that area means anything but likely a strong opponent team, so I just want to ask if it's just me imagining things or not. (^^;) Also poor Balt having his teammates being two Demon Kings, where are his comrades- /j

Hmm, I don't have much other interpretation of a human battler other than being partner, contractor, and/or friends with the monsters we met along the journey
There might have been some interesting take on Demizu Posuka's manga for Ginger Ale since the story is about an Oreca monster who travels to the human world, and there is a monster who are living alongside humans (it's Ramune, if I'm not wrong)

I actually find my way unto the Sky Temple as well back on December!
This is one of the rare boss only places that shows up on the chapter selection, just like the Ghost Ship for the bosses from Ch. 1 and Ch. 5, the tornado for bosses from Ch. 2 and Ch. 6, and so on
(These bosses doesn't include Demon Kings as far as I know, but I can't find info on the JP fanwiki and people rarely talked about it-)
Sky temple in particular is a special stage where you can meet (almost?) all of the Angel race monsters in the game, like Lucifer, Michael, Uriel, Sariel, etc.
And what is special from Boss only places like this are, no matter if you lose or win, a rare drop is guaranteed!
That's how I got the God Circle from Michael, the crown from Beelzebub, candleholder from Simon, and other boss items
And for Balt's current predicament...
To encounter Darkness Magica (my white whale-), you need a team of around 10~12★ stars total
And most of Balt's comrade that are in my team doesn't really fulfill the condition, so I can't really use them-
Beside, I do need to train Beelzebub and Balt's command reels, because I aim to get his 4★ class change as well, so he will be paired up with the Demon Kings for a good while-

Negan’s Wives
I’m like, a villain supporter through and through, I don’t really give a fuck what a bad guy has done, murder away and I will cheer you on etc, and Negan is very much included in that, but I’ve always been iffy on his wives situation and I know a lot of people bring it up as a reason why he’s irredeemable so I want to figure out how I feel about it.
During my recent re-watch I basically paid extra attention and took note of various moments related to his wives and general attitude towards sex/consent. I know this is an old conversation, but I need to talk about it to get my thoughts out so here we are.
Parts of this post mention rape and coercion so tread carefully if those topics are likely to upset you.
I don’t know the best way to format this post so I’m just going to go through each moment I noted down first

NEGAN: You know what that means, right? You know what that means, right?
AMBER: Yes. I love you, Negan.
NEGAN: Oh, of course you do, darlin’. I don’t know why you’re crying. It’s all gonna work out aces for you.

Now for some rambling. I’ve put it into sections as much as I can.
Did Negan sleep with his wives?
I sometimes see people say they don’t think Negan had sex with his wives at all but from these quotes we know that’s canonically not the case. He makes a comment to Carl about screwing his wives (4) and then mentions how he’s always wanted to screw multiple women (6), implying that now that he has multiple wives, that’s exactly what he does. And of course there’s Sherry’s pregnancy test (1), which is the most concrete proof of all.
I’m sure some people would say, ‘Well maybe he’s lying’ but I think, while it’s feasible that a character like Negan would lie about something to sound impressive or whatever, I think going down the ‘he’s lying’ road is a slippery slope and kind of just an easy way to explain away something you may not like. You could also say Sherry may have been cheating with Dwight which is why did the test and not because she had been sleeping with Negan but again, I don’t think that is implied anywhere so it’s, in my opinion, a dumb road to go down.
Consent
Negan makes it clear in a couple of scenes that consent is important and he has zero tolerance for rape. He tells Dwight he can get with one of his wives but only if they say yes (2) and there’s a scene I didn’t include in my quote list where he literally murders a guy for attempting to rape Sasha.
Did they choose to be his wives?
While Negan having a bunch of wives and making it so that being his wife makes life easier for you is morally questionable, there are multiple times where he says they’re there because they chose to be and not because he forces them to be. He tells Amber he doesn’t want anyone there if they don’t want to be there (5), and he tells Gabriel they all chose to be there (8). Frankie also tells Eugene that her and Tanya signed up to be his wives because it’s better for them (7).
I think Amber and Sherry’s cases are definitely where it’s the most morally messed up. With Amber, we know her options are either be Negan’s wife or let her mum die, as without being Negan’s wife she would have no way of getting meds her mum needs (7), and going by her interaction with Negan (5) and the fact she literally would rather die than be his wife (7), she’s clearly not happy. With Sherry, we know that the reason she agreed to be Negan's wife was to stop him from killing Dwight after they ran away. So while Negan is right about them technically having a choice, when the choices are be this man’s wife or let your mum/partner die, is there really a choice?
Which wives does Negan sleep with?
Since we know Negan sleeps with more than one of his wives (6), and we know his rules on consent (2), I think it’s fairly simple to deduce that while he definitely sleeps with some of his wives, he probably doesn’t sleep with all of them.
Amber clearly doesn’t like Negan at all and is only his wife because she wants meds for her mum so I don’t think she would ever be willing to have sex with him and since we know his rules on consent, I don’t think they ever sleep together.
In my opinion it’s fairly possible that he sleeps with Tanya and Frankie, which may seem ridiculous because of the fact they literally wanted him dead but I just get the vibe that they wouldn’t be against it despite their dislike of him. Their general attitude towards him, while they definitely hate him, is a lot more, idk, relaxed(?) than, say, Amber who is seemingly terrified of him, spends all her time drinking and is so unhappy with her situation that she wants to die. So yeah, I think it’s possible they would be down to sleep with him despite their feelings about him as a person.
Sherry is I think the only wife we know that he for sure has slept with (1) which I think is interesting and potentially messy because we know Negan’s rules on consent and we know that Sherry absolutely hates him and loves Dwight. So why would she say yes to sleeping with him?
Her attitude imo lies somewhere between Tanya/Frankie and Amber. She clearly hates him/the situation and gets out of there as soon as she can, but she doesn’t seem scared/broken in the same way Amber is. She gets on with things and in the scene where Negan talks to Amber about Amber’s cheating, Sherry seems kinda willing to stand up to Negan a bit and talk back to him. I find their dynamic interesting tbh.
With Sherry what it comes down to for me is the fact she loves Dwight. As far as we know, Tanya and Frankie don’t have partners who that can’t be with because of their marriage to Negan so them saying yes to sleeping with him isn’t as odd to me as Sherry saying yes, because I wouldn’t have thought she’d do that to Dwight. So that just makes me think that the reason she’s slept with Negan is out of fear or because she thought it would make Dwight’s life easier if Negan had that up on him, idk, something like that.
And also obviously, while imo it’s possible Tanya and Frankie would to sleep with Negan because they were okay with it, it is also a possibility that they would agree more out of compliance/fear rather than enthusiastic consent.
Amber remains the only wife that I for sure don’t think he would sleep with because of just how much of a mess she is and how Negan would be very aware that a yes from her would be a yes out of fear whereas with Tanya and Frankie (and also Sherry but like I said, the existence of Dwight makes it weird to me) seem like if they were saying yes out of compliance/fear, they would be able to keep it together and hide that they don’t really want to be sleeping with him.
There’s also at least two other wives that we know nothing about so I can’t say if I think he has slept with them or not. I’d just say that if he hasn’t sleep with Tanya or Frankie then he probably does sleep with those unnamed wives, because we know he has slept with multiple of his wives (6), with Sherry for sure being one of them.
Other Characters
Gabriel mentions Negan’s wives who he says Negan ‘pressures’ into marrying him. Negan corrects him and says they all have a choice (8). I do think in this case Gabriel is wrong here about the pressuring. There doesn’t seem to be any pressure/force to marry but like I said before, mainly with Amber and Sherry, it’s also not as simple as, ‘Yeah, they chose this and are happy to be married to him’.
The next instance is Rick saying Negan ‘uses people to sleep with him’ (9), which, yeah, depending on how you look at things, like which of his wives you think he sleeps with and if you think they say yes because they want to or because they are scared/feel like they have to, Rick is correct.
Rick obviously isn’t saying that because he has tons of insider info (like about who chose to be there, specifically which wives Negan sleeps with, etc), all he knows is what Carl told him which is probably just, ‘Negan has a room full of wives, he says he sleeps with multiple of them, they don’t all seem too happy to be there,’ so I wouldn’t take Rick’s comment as like, concrete proof that Negan sleeping with his wives is categorically him ‘using’ them, but yeah it makes sense why Rick would say that and I don’t think we can concretely say he’s wrong.
The third time we get a mention of Negan’s wives is after, from what I remember, nearly three full seasons of his wives not being brought up at all. Ezekiel calls him out for ‘coercing women into marrying him’ (10), which yeah, he’s not fully wrong about.
I think the use of the word ‘coerce’, meaning ‘the practice of persuading someone to do something by using force or threats’, really only comes into play for Sherry and Amber because when the choice is be Negan’s wife or let a person you love (Dwight, Amber’s mum) die, there isn’t really a choice and that, despite the fact Negan isn’t specifically saying to them as a threat, ‘If you don’t marry me, I will kill these people you love’, is still close enough to a threat to probably be considered coercion. There might be a better word to explain it because coercion doesn’t feel like it hits it quite right for me but idk, that’s the only word I have so.
Other than it’s made pretty clear that all wives have a choice and he doesn’t threaten to hurt them, they can leave if they want to. Sure, they would be going back to a not as good life, but their choosing to not be Negan’s wives, as far as we know, wouldn’t have as big consequences as it would for Sherry and Amber.
Redemption / How it was handled
If you personally cannot forgive Negan for the way he treated his wives then I think that’s fine but I do think it’s pretty shitty of people to condemn those who are able to forgive him and believe he’s been redeemed. It’s very clear through S9, 10 and 11 that he’s changed a lot from his days at the Sanctuary and in my opinion, while I do think his wives could/should have been brought up more and we should have seen him acknowledge that it was fucked up, he has been redeemed from it.
I kind of see the lack of mention as more of an issue with how the show handled his wives more than with Negan himself, which I know some people will say is me just trying to make the fault not lie on Negan which, if you think that then fine, but that’s not what I feel I’m doing.
S7/8 Negan is pretty clear and says multiple times that those women all have a choice while not acknowledging that for a couple of them, the choice is marriage or the death of a loved one. He also has a clear no rape policy but brags about sleeping with women who hate him and may not actually be happy to sleep with him.
I can and do believe that Negan has grown from those Sanctuary days but I think it was very cowardly of the show to not give us some scenes where Negan is talking to someone about how looking back he knows that agreeing to marry because the other option is death of a loved one is not a choice and then either make him state that he was lying about sleeping with his wives and maybe even go as far as to say the pregnancy test thing was to get a reaction out of Dwight or have it be true that he slept with some of his wives but idk, make it clear he knows that there was a awful power imbalance there and there’s not really a sure way of knowing if they said yes because they wanted to or because they were scared/felt like they had to.
In conclusion
I basically was figuring out my thoughts on this situation as I writing this post up and now that I’m at the end I think I’ve come to the conclusion that while I can see, and agree, that some of the wife stuff is very gross, I think people are sometimes dramatic about it but also the show doesn’t handle it in a very good way so I can see why people either don’t feel he was redeemed well or don’t feel he was redeemable at all. Because, in order to figure out my thoughts on it all, I’ve literally had to make this long ass post, and analyse the few moments we have to make sense of it all. It’s just a mess they could’ve avoided by either being clear somewhere in S9-11 that Negan recognises it was messed up or by just.. doing things differently from the start.
So yeah, I think because of the set up of being Negan’s wife meaning you have a better life, Negan coerced, for lack of a better word, a couple of his wives (Sherry, amber) into marriage because their worse life would have resulted in people they love dying. But for wives like Tanya and Frankie, I don’t think he coerced them.
and in terms of redemption, I believe he is redeemed because I think from the way his character is now, there's no way he would do something like that again but I do think it was a misstep on the show’s part to not make it clear that he not only wouldn’t do that stuff again but also sees that it was wrong to do in the first place and he doesn’t have that same ‘well they mde their choice’ mindset as he did in the past.

The Return? ... Again?
Hi, everyone. So. It’s been a while. Again. Today is January 1, 2024, and the last post, Last Post 2.0, was from October 6, 2022, so… over a year. Again. Déjà vu~ I’ve just been in this place before~ Gone in October and returning in January~
… In hindsight, I should have posted the Last Post 2.0 on October 22. That way, both times, I would have retired on October 22 (Last Post and Last Post 2.0). And if I had done that, I would’ve waited until January 6 to return, thus returning both times on January 6 over a year after going away. Oh well.
… Also apparently, this Tumblr has become 10 years old. Hm. I guess I did make this thing in December 2013, so… yeah. That happened. 10 years of this Tumblr, and I’ve been gone for 2 of them.
So, what happened this time?
Well, nothing. I just enjoyed a long rest. Retirement, if you will. Unlike last time, where I spent the time either dying, comatose, rehab, or playing Yakuza games, this time, I just… lived normally, I guess. Spending lots of time with friends and family, going on vacations, working away in the store, playing Yakuza Ishin, playing Yakuza 7 Gaiden, crying like a bitch because of Gaiden (…), crying because of Yakuza 8 trailers (…), and so on and so forth. I rather enjoyed my long time off.
So, why return this time?
… It’s… complicated. Let’s just say that I’m returning now to undo the reason why I went away not-so-forever twice now.
Let’s see if I can point out the key parts here.
There’s a reason why I abruptly retired and disconnected from everything back in 2020. The impending death certainly played a part, but I didn’t have to “disconnect” from everything. But instead, I used that as an excuse to disconnect from everything and vanish.
It’s the same reason as to why I didn’t immediately return when I could have and instead, hesitated until 2022. Yeah, the pile of Yakuza games (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Judgment, Lost Judgment) certainly kept me busy, but it’s not like I was busy literally all day every day. I certainly could have squeezed in some time to return to Tumblr. And is the same reason as to why I wanted to disappear as soon as possible upon returning. Though… that took some time. It took… what, 9 months, instead of the planned 2? Hehe…
And finally, it’s the reason why I came back now in 2024. The fact that I even wrote this out… I wouldn’t say that I stopped caring exactly, but… hmm… I guess you could call it a proof of resolve. I made a difficult choice, so to speak.
… Hopefully all this is irrelevant and will not be brought up again. But if it does…
This is kind of rambling, and no one would have any idea what the hell I’m talking about, so I’ll stop there. Normally, I would never write this out, out of consideration. But… well, subtle hints probably won’t work. They didn’t work last time. No reason why it should this time. But I have this out here… just in case.
… Now back to things that people would actually understand, because hell if I fully understand what I wrote. Hehe…
So, will I return to writing this time?
Banter? Yes. Short Story? Most likely though rarely. Full stories on FF/Ao3? No. I didn’t touch those last time, I have no intention of doing so this time. I’m still retired, after all. It’s like when pro gamers retire from a game. They still play it, just not in any tournaments or that regularly.
Meaning, I probably won’t be active that much… once the “stockpile” of post ideas runs out. I’ll post stuff whenever I feel like it, and… I just won’t when I don’t. Unlike last time, I have no obligation of any sort this time around. No post count, no objectives, no nothing. Once the “stockpile” runs out, the activity is going to be very sporadic. But at least this Tumblr will be open so that if I wind up with more post ideas that won’t go away, I have an outlet.
So, what’s different from 2022 this time?
You probably noticed the different layout. I messed with a bunch of stuff over time. Including disabling of messages. At least I think it’s disabled.
I disabled messaging (not “Ask”, mind you) because of a specific reas… I mean, whenever someone messages me, I have to ponder for a while how I’m going to respond when I don’t have any meaningful responses, so my responses always feel too detached or too forced. … And I really don’t like doing that since it feels rude. So… best to disable that entirely, but keep the ask inbox open for one-off responses. So… sorry, to those who have messaged me repeatedly in the past. No more. Spare me the effort of staring at the messages for a while, thinking of a response out of courtesy, and sometimes putting it off until later, only to forget that entirely thus not responding for an excessive amount of time, at which point, responding is incredibly awkward.
All in all, it won’t be much different this time than in 2022. I’ll post random stuff from… random rambles to banters and short stories, and you’ll read ‘em for minor enjoyment.
So, will there be another Last Post this time?
Last Post 3.0? Third time’s the charm? Heh. No. Not this time. At least, I’m not planning on it. If the reason behind this return goes off as hoped, then I’ll stick around. If it goes disastrously, then… welp. Back to the void.
So… I’m here again. It wasn’t “for real, this time though”. I doubt many noticed that my profile image has been changed from the old Mew to a Dragoon’s portrait for a while now. In the Last Post 2.0 post, I said that Mew would stay in the grave and not return in a Dragoon or Immortal or a Purifier platform. … Well, it’s been stuffed in a Dragoon shell now.
I actually tried to draw/edit a Mew image to make it look like it’s in a Dragoon pod, but… that didn’t go so well (some things never change), so I’m just using the SC Remastered Dragoon portrait for now.
I guess this post has gone on long enough. All I can say now is…
… For real, this time though… right?
Oh, also, Happy New Year. 2024, 甲辰年, Year of the Blue Dragon.

Probably about time for another one of my rambles with the forbidden/blessed scales I got for each God...
... Or Seven of them in this case.
Yes I want to cover Musings on Love briefly before I move onto the Promise of Infinty Stuff.
I'm gonna blank out whose is whose in the collage versions below and then reveal them from most blessed to most forbidden under the cut, with maybe some thoughts about the path. Spoiler warning, obviously.
There'll be comparisons to their Main Story result (My post on those is here) and their Sequel Story result (My post on those is here) but as it's only just over half of them I can't see how to include these in the rank calculation I started last time.
Right that's way too much rambling, let's get on with it.
Okay one more thing I want to get out the way quickly: Why seven of the Gods? I could get six, that's half of them. By doing seven they've gone one over half and also made it so there's one more Musings On Love story for Punishments.
Anyway!
1. Dui
Postion in Main Story: 11th
Position in Sequel Story: 1st
Dui's actually only two notches up from what he was in the Main Story, and four down from his sequel, but it's still juuuust enough for him to stay in front of the two in equal second. Also Musings on Love is only 4 episodes plus the ending, so three episodes less than the Sequels (which in turn are 5 episodes less than the main path), though to be fair I haven't counted how many actual interactions there are so it could still be the same.
Regardless, I'm supposed to be talking about Dui.
I think ouch is the word here. Whilst his sequel helped conclude what actually happened to his friend, and hopefully finally get the heavens to stop being so judgy, seems some of his friend's family needed a bit more of a push to accept what had happened.
This rounds his story off nicely though, and off the top of my head I can't think of any loose threads, meaning Promise of Infinity could concentrate more on Dui himself (themself? Hmm...)
2. Teorus
Position in Main Story: Equal 5th with Partheno and Krioff
Position in Sequel Story: Equal 7th with Ichthys, Leon, and Scorpio
His meter here is actually exactly the same as it was in the Sequel route, which was actually down on his Main by three notches.
Still though, I stick by what I said before that I like Teo more in his later stories, even if his possesiveness is still way too much.
Considering how easily Teo can get lost, and let's face it he's definitely not the brightest of them, the fact that his power is over time is pretty dangerous, especially when in this one it turns out when he was younger he accidentally tavelled through time into the future.
Actually if anything in this one (other than his aforementioned possiveness) it's MC I want to throttle. I think I worked out pretty early on what was going to happen, and when the special clothing requirements for the Planetarium's stall at the event were revealled it was very clear from what I recall.
They were both jealous of their own selves in this. MC is a moron but she at least didn't know it was her.
I guess it's also a bit strange if you think on it for too long. (Teo's 'Constellations of Love' DLC is arguably a better Time Travel story)
=. Scorpio
Position in Main Story: 12th (Forbidden)
Position in Sequel Story: Equal 7th with Ichthys, Leon, and Teorus
Well well well, it seems the Scorpion is keeping up with the Fairytale Prince.
No but seriously, I say I'm happier with Teo in his later stories? I'm faaaaar happier with Scorpio in his later ones.
This... this is just... 🥰 Scorpio finally finds out what family dynamics actually are, MC sympathises with how he is acting and even has a chance to snap back at Zyglavis, and yet it somehow all works out and Scorpio is saved from making a terrible mistake, but also with the knowledge that MC also gets upset at such acts.
4. Zygalvis
Position in Main Story: Equal 3rd with Tauxolouve
Position in Sequel Story: Equal 5th with Hue
Oh, and talking of Zyglavis, here he is! Right in the middle of where he was before. He's consistet if nothing else. His meter has dropped another couple of notches though.
Zig really doesn't make things easy for himself. At least there's no trials or threat of anihalation in this one... just the potential destruction of the world.
Oh wait. That's worse.
The detail I like the most in this is actually in the ending. I don't want to spoil it just in case but I will at least say it has something to do with his unique power.
For a Zig story where their relationship causes the issue, this arguably has some of the sweetest moments from him in it. Again especially the ending (I will admit it may have been a bit too long since I read some of these ones all the way through. I've been jogging my memory a little ^^;; )
=. Leon
Poisition in Main Story: Equal 8th with Aigo and Karno
Position in Sequel Story: Equal 7th with Ichthys, Teorus, and Scorpio
O-ho, what's this? Sheesh no one tell them they're sharing the same rank on this one it'll cause an argument for days!
That aside, I think I misjudged Leon. He acts with the jerkyness I think you probably would expect from someone with a unique power like his but... it seems his non believing in love wasn't just him not understanding but others treating him differently because of his immense power.
If you told me that there was a storyline in the game where one of the Gods was lonely... I think Leon might have been one of the last, if not the last, to even enter into my thoughts.
Also Zig? That was a bit of a jerk move on your part. You knew what you were doing when you framed your own past vision that way.
6. Huedhaut
Position in Main Story: Equal 1st With Ichthys
Position in Sequel Story: Equal 5th With Zyglavis
Note: The meter does end in Blessed here.
Oh... Oh Hue. Let's just bind the ties of fate even more together shall we? Ouch.
I'm not sure actually being Clotho for a bit (albeit in the past) will have helped how Hue's Promise of Infinity path goes, but it is a way to give more of the backstory on that without more dreams and also as MC is still there post what happened we get to see how Hue was really truly feeling.
As I say, OUCH.
But this does lead onto the Promise of Infinity and I warn you now... when we get to that I'm going to launch my full anger at the King.

Is Ikky messing with me? I swear I don't recall/didn't feel I was doing this badly with his sequels. Then again... I might have gone back through this one a bit? I've no idea.
Anyway geez talk about a massive mistake. At least it all got fixed. It was sweet watching him and MC having all these Deja Vu moments but not quite knowing why.
But sheesh, if the Heavens has a department for changing histories like this, maybe that's why certain things in certain routes aren't the same!

it was a cold day in teyvat, everywhere the phenomenon of snow appearing is wide, it even reaches inazuma and the sumeru dessert
"huf- huft- Aether! where- are you!" lumine yell through the snow storm. hoping of finding her one and only brother though the blizzard.
the wind howl as she block her eyes to protect her vision, the snow start to build up, and the wind is hitting her body making her sway on their will, lumine fought back believing on her own determination.
"...Ine- ...umin- Lumine!" a voice. she recognized it, she recognize the voice.
'who....' she blink, clearing her vision from the frost that has build up on her lashes.
"lumine hurry! we have to run! we have no time to fight!" a hand was pulling her up. A warm pair of familiar hands.
she stood in place, building up her strength for a run to the voice.
"huft-" she took a deep breath "-i can do this."
She ran.

Cold sweat ran, ragged breath and a horrified expression. thats what he see's when he came to check up on her beloved sister.
"Lumine! lumine calm down."
The Glass of water that he's been holding is set down on the night stand. Hurriedly he sat on Lumine's bed, guiding her through the panic.
"Deep breath, come on lumi... inhale-" he hold his breath for a few second '1.... 2.... 3... 4....-' she heard a familiar voice in her head, as she followed what aether is doing " -Exhale... feel better yet lumi?"
He caressed her shoulder and back, making circles to sooth her nerves, and grabbing the glass of water.
"Drink."
Lumine grab the glass with shaking hands, and down the water for a few second before setting it down in her lap. for a while They both stay in the comforting presence of each other.
....
"I'll be right back lumi, im going to grab a few more blanket from the other room okay?" she nod weakly as a response.

"you wanna talk about it sis?" 30 minutes has passed after aether goes back to grab a blanket, now they are leaning againts each other with a warm cup of cocoa.
lumine is silent for a few minutes. She took a sip from her cup.
" i cant find you-" she look down. " you were nowhere i can see aether, i was scared. i thought you were gone again- i was running in the middle of a blizzard screaming your name- i- i was scared Aether, i was in the middle of a blizzard and everything i see was white, the- the ground- the sky the snow, everywhere i see is white-" her breath quicken.
"calm down lumine." his voice stop her from her ramble, she look into his eyes, and there, she found that golden eyes she search for.. that warm golden eyes. " I'm here now... I'm not going anywhere.. okay?"
of course
she smiled, " -but you save me... i heard your voice that told me to run... and your hands... it was so warm and- little.."
hmm? why is his expression....
a pained expression... why do you have that....
"lumine... do you... feel empty?" he ask.
his body is trembling
"no... i dont feel- !!" warm and little... little?...
"Aether... where... is she...?" her eyes glisten with tears.
instead of talking, Aether set his cup down along with his sister on the nightstand. took her arms and drape a blanket over both of them leading her outside.
He leads her to their small make shift garden in the tea pot. There stand a stone etch with a carving that read.
Paimon
here lies the body of a friend, a teacher, a guide and the 'best traveling companion ever!'
Silence drape over them, a cold air passed through and the blanket fell off both of their shoulder.
Lumine stare at the stone with intense gaze.
While Aether drop his gaze to the ground in sadness.

I have finally gotten a new phone so I am now back to writing letters and posting it in this ask box
How is it going? Have not caught up to the Ren shenanigans lately so I’m wondering if anything new has happened since I dipped .I did manage to catch your ask a day after you sent it and it gave me the motivation to complete the last few exams. I am so glad they are done so I have a loooong Summer break (is this what you americans feel like? )
Also I finished alice in borderland today and MY GOD it was a RIDE. I somehow managed to forget about Chishiya’s death despite getting spoiled months ago. Worst thing is that I made a joke about him ducking in to save Usagi and then going 👁️👄👁️ when it happened. Thanks for posting about Chishiya to get me hooked on the show as well.

Definitely Jiang Cheng, his feeling of being on the outside looking in, of wondering what he's doing wrong that he doesn't seem to be as loved as others, his anxiety over other people's well being -- I feel that, even if I'm a bit better at expressing it. Loki was a similar situation.
To avoid saying Jiang Cheng again, I'll say Jin Ling, because he's a good boy who wants the best for his loved ones, like his mother, like his father, like his jiujiu. I also enjoy writing his dynamic with Jiang Cheng.
Usually I have an idea, I throw it at some people, see how they vibe with it and then if I find it keeps my attention long enough to keep elaborating beyond a simple 'What If' scenario, I'll start writing. I'm currently in the process of changing how I write, because I used to write and post as I finished a chapter and that bit me in the ass because I forgot how my big Loki series was to end and I regret that I never finished it, and there are things I could have done better. So with For What, I very deliberately decided not to do that, I kept reworking it and I'm so much happier with it as a result. I feel I got to tighten it so much better. Trying to write it all before I start posting also means I can write out of order which I've never been able to do before. I'm more of a pantser than a plotter and I find if I overplan I end up bored with the story because there's no surprises left. I like going 'WOW!' as I write because an idea swings in and surprises me. So I usually have a general start, middle and end, with specific scenes in mind and go from there.
God, hmm... OK! Here's something I think is kinda interesting. I don't always realise what I've done until someone points it out. It's like my brain kinda does it subconsciously and I feel that makes it more organic. So, for example, in For What, frogs became Jiang Cheng's symbol in a way I didn't decide ahead of schedule, I just kept putting them in where they seemed sentimentally appropriate - on his robes, and how he chose it for Sandu, pulling from Sandu's design, how the kids paint it on their kites - and then the milk name of Kedou. I didn't realise that it was all so connected like a motif until the comments flooded in, because I wasn't thinking about it that way. He picked Kedou because I thought it was a cute nickname until he gets his official birth name, and then I laid the mentions in referring to the sensations of him moving.

The Devil Judge: Episode 6
I just finished The Devil Judge and something about this show compelled me to take copious notes - it had emotional intensity and layers of mystery. These are long and rambling, so they're likely not of interest to anyone else, but since I spent all that time writing it I decided, why not post it. Perhaps someone will find it interesting.
Below are my moment-to-moment reactions, predictions and analysis as I watched episode 6.

This is cleaned up only slightly. I followed the spelling given in the Viki subtitles. I mostly don't explain what I'm reacting to, so this will probably only make sense if you've seen the episode recently. Occasionally I give timestamps.
Does this mean JSA is also on a personal revenge quest? I'm not sure how I feel about that. Or obsession?
Ok. Getting into conflicting memories, the un/trustworthiness of flashbacks. I'm not feeling as negative about this. Or at least like it might not ruin JSA as a character

I don't think any major changes in how I'm thinking about JSA? She hasn't been flattened out yet which was my fear - her motives still feel complex or at least opaque enough. Power? Money? Ownership? Revenge? It could be a specific obsession with Y but I don't actually think so.

(18:15) This scene in the study! Domesticity! Y's face! Stares at G and then covers up E Tripping on the chair - somehow unexpected and surprising realistic capstone to the whole stylized scene with JSA. A release of the tension, letting go of his game face.
Hmm... evidence of him deceiving with the complete truth. Also Ga-On really does not want to hear about his sex life. Which pleases Y. (Who wore his robe slutty style to where he knew G was sleeping.)
(21:25) "I'm tired of this family. Let's eat rice like normal human beings." !!!!! LET'S! Is he starting to think of them all as a family!!! Domesticity! Governess romance story in this house!
Y's outfit! "Why are you staring at Ga-On's butt?" projection much? That cute little run. G's pleased smile and whole thing at serving them this feast. Y's pouting, but he's being so unguarded even though he's pretending to be guarded.
I can't even. They are all so cute. Such a contrast with everything everywhere else. Except actually, now that I think about it, in G's early rooftop scenes with YSH. He's a man who likes having a family to take care of.
I do want to know what the story is wit Y and e's relationship
Ok, but the way Y ate that... while staring at G... his tongue... and now he's stuffing his face of course he loves the food.
(23:50) "16 years as the son of restaurant owners and living alone for 13 years." I guess he's about 29 or 30 and his parents died when he was 16
Oh, the housekeeper is hurt... Y never eats her food (but he wants G's!) Y is embarrassed (so cute and awkward trying to run away) "this unfamiliar harmony that doesn't fit with this house"
G definitely hides his cleverness behind pretending obliviousness or naivety
Hmm this charm offensive on Elijah. Only what it seems or is he trying to give the cop an in to the house?I would buy either at this point.
(25:53) E's questions about their relationship. They both look a little shifty hmm
All day G has been more playful than we've seen him. I don't know why.

Y is starting to freak out.
Ah. She is there as a cop. But that (seemingly) wasn't his intention.

She's maybe protective of Y against an outsider?
Oh wow. Scared and angry y. Does he have a tracking device on her? Or is this movie magic?
Many thoughts about all 4 of them. But also this is very governess romance.
Ji Sung is gorgeous but also the nuance he can convey. He's amazing.
(29:48). The contrast between the way the domestic and the political are filmed. All these mirrored upside shots. Here there's a literal mirror.
The house is dark but warm - wood, sunlight seen entering, fabrics. Color palette still limited and muted, but a shift towards browns. Political world is glass and marble and metal. Artificial lights. Black and white and maybe grey. Reflections. The other setting is outside with the public - disorganized, messy, lots of soft clothing though, closer to the domestic palette? Not sure how YSH and G's roof fits. Do we ever see inside his actual house? (My prediction is we will return there temporarily and briefly once or twice when G or Y or their relationship is in crisis.) G and YSH often meet in outdoor spaces. Also G with his mentor?
We have JSA with unknown people. Male idols and older rich women? Ah! What is Cha doing, what's the stated purpose of this gathering, what is subtext?
Wow this has to be a deliberate gender reversal of this kind of scene. This amazing choreography around the cigar!
Is this an intentional reference to the castration stuff from last episode
(31:40) political convo around dream village
I assume JSA orchestrated all this? To bring down prices on the land? Or just to incite chaos?
Ah, these two are the businessmen's wives. And that was Jae Hui whispering to JSA
Ah, JSA returns to offer a solution. And they volunteer to donate the land.
Cha was doing this for JSA I guess in return for her help with her son, although I'm not clear that JSA has done anything that actually helped yet.
(34:02) Cha: "But who's the real Master Seo? Is it that old man who disappears at the drop of a hat to go into prayer? Or..." bites a mint and stares significantly at JSA
"Just catch Kang Yo-Han, like you said you could."
I do feel likes there's erotic tension in the way these two are filmed together. Not sure if it's intentional or not.
(36:15) Back home. This is what Y looks like when he's actually angry, not pretending to be more or less emotional than he really is. It's because of his fear for E, but perhaps also because he already instinctively trusts G with his true self? Even when he's furious at him?
In contrast to the scene immediately before, where JSA is wearing masks even when totally alone.
The threat scared G, but he's not terrified
Who is mentor meeting?
Is G fucking insane? He doesn't even know if she's a major threat! I'm not clear actually why he's going after her. He was suspicious, but I don't think he's seen enough of her to be that suspicious?
What a good boy grabbing the helmet first (I'm sure it's because of stunt doubles but it's cute)
Ok, I was not expecting this action movie sequence but it's fun. But what do we think of G as an action hero? Does it fit him? This is the quickest thinking he's done yet.
But not the wisest since it turns out to be a trap. And they want G to think motorcycle woman works for Y?
JSA and Jae Hui are cute together.
(40:55) mentor looks alarmed to see G watching
hmm, I wonder if I should be suspicious of him. Not sure yet
Jeong Seon-Ah is definitely flirting with judge Oh. Or using flirtation or however to describe it.

After the sweetness of that breakfast, a rift is regrowing between Y and G. They trust each other less again.
Return to the theme of danger of the televised trials - turning the public toward vigilanteism and mob violence.
(45 ish). Doctor safety (Jang Gi Hyeon) withdraws lots of cash, YSH tails him.
Are these all JSA's seeds?
YSH's cop boss is conspiring with Mysterious Assistant. And the funds were from judge Kang? Or at least he knew about them?
It's like Y and G are in one genre at home and another outside. But it works somehow?
Oh fuck. Is Y behind this attack on YSH? I don't want it to be true but the phone convo was definitely trying to imply that to us.

And we're already getting hints that Jae Hui was the attacker on JSA’s orders.
Was that some sort of threat on the rooftop? Obviously deliberate and planned. But what's the plan? Who's in control of what?
That's a lot of plot all at once.
Isn't this all on Chairman Parks tv channels? Or he doesn't even care if he’s accused as long as it's big tv?
JSA's expression. She doesn't look upset. Amused by the twist? Happy at the downfall of some or all of those players
The mutual staring of course. In case we got distracted by the political intrigue and forgot.

All right let's continue my original zelda story. Content warning for death and injury.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 (Other posts are tagged #cotf)
Today we get to the midpoint of the game. You know how the formula for Zelda is usually "in order to get The Big Thing, get These Smaller Things, then once you get that Big Thing (sometimes the Master Sword) then go get more Small Things for the second Big Thing" and then fight the final boss? Oversimplifying it but yeah. One more round of dungeons after this and then the final fight.
So after the first round of dungeons (And plenty of development!) we head to get the Master Sword for reasons yet undefined. Ganon sent a minion in the form of a giant snake to guard the sword and keep it out of the heroes' hands, so that's who they have to fight to get the sword.
OH this is irrelevant to the current events but I forgot to explain their group dynamics. Working idea is that Link is the main controllable character and the other two (Shei and Stella) swap out to solve puzzles/do certain actions/story stuff etc. Because it's really freaking difficult to play a game where an npc follows you around all the time, Link carries Stella in a backpack (like just as a bag of bones) and in combat situations (where id imagine npc following would be the most tense) Shei gets all magicky and starts glowing and floating. Kinda like Zelda in Age of Calamity.
.....Except, Shei doesn't have the best handle on his goddess powers, so he can't really control where he moves very well. In order to remedy this, Link has to lasso him and tow him around like the Triforce of Wisdom a balloon. Actually looking that over again it still seems kinda annoying so maybe that's an event specific thing instead of being present in every combat situation........hmm im rambling BUT the point is both Shei and Stella are present and active in fights.
SO back to the story they fight big evil snake and like close to the end SOMETHING happens (gonna shoot off ideas because im not sure what it should be yet) that gets Shei bitten by the evil snake. (Like. not the actual snake itself that one's huge like it splits into a bunch of smaller ones or spawns a bunch of little snakes) Some sort of event happens during the fight that should make that unavoidable but not feel like a punishment to the player, if that makes any sense? Like I don't want it to feel like you didn't beat the boss fast enough/well enough but I also don't want it to feel like it comes out of left field. I guess I want it to feel like it had to happen and there was nothing you could do?? (Like idk the floor gives out and trips Shei or at the end of one damage pattern it flies to the side and pins him down for a moment or something like that)
ANYWAY that was a lot of rambling obscuring a very important event SO-
You do manage to defeat the boss and reach the Master Sword, but just as Link pulls it Shei goes white and crumples (alternatively: gets a nosebleed), revealing the injury he sustained during the battle.
Impa, who accompanied them because she guided them to the Master Sword (Impa pops in and out of the action bc she has stuff to do elsewhere, also known as she shows up when its convenient), uses her Monocle of Truth (oh yeah I forgot to say she had that its like the lens of truth thats why shes wearing a monocle in the picrews) and determines that the venom of the snake is full of evil power and has no antidote.
They all panic. Shei doesn't want to die. He's not ready to accept any sort of future (throughout the story so far I want to imply that he's living in the present and doesn't like to think about what might happen in the future), especially not one where he dies.
✨Circumstances✨ come up that prevent them from leaving the area (monster resurgence, rubble blocking the exit, etc.), so they can't get help (still reworking those reasons). They can move him to a different clearing (this is a forest temple kind of place) where the sun is shining, the birds are singing, the wind is blowing, and it's all a contrast to what's happening.
Eventually they figure out all they can do is stay with him (😭 forgive me im still trying to give this moment the emotion it deserves and its Not Quite There yet so this is all you get sorry-). Remember this picture that I posted a while back? @acheronspride described it as cold, and that's exactly the vibe I'm going for.
So they sit around a tree and hold each other as the venom runs its course. It takes a long time (several hours) and during that time he gets increasingly dizzy/disoriented/sick/etc. (I wanted to avoid the "dying quickly but still has enough time to say important things" and "important things are said right before dying" tropes).
That's relevant because he does have something important to say. Remember the goddess-blood essence? If he dies as the last descendant of Hylia, her power and the legacy of every Princess Zelda will be lost forever. So he draws it out of himself, but he's not strong enough to hold onto it. The GBE splits into six pieces and scatters, and the piece of it that he DOES hold on to he bestows to Stella.
