My name is Brianna Carmel. I am a 25-year old DIY musician + show promoter from Sacramento, CA who is in a few different projects.

I'd consider my main project to be my sadcore indie pop band, @bloomingheads.

We're in the middle of recording our debut album, but we've been around for a couple years, technically since late 2018. In the two years that we played shows nonstop before our current recording hiatus, we've opened for bands like Walter Etc., Crywank, and Hoity-Toity.

Here is our song Axis Access, which we submitted to NPR's Tiny Desk Contest.

I also recently joined my bandmate Josiah's main project, @little-tiny-knife. This band is very much their brainchild, a chiptune folk punk act whose music has touched my heart since I met them in 2016.

As you can see in a couple of these photos, LTK is technically a 3-piece; our bassist Jim is currently away doing Real Adult Things™️, but we're hoping for him to join us for our next show on April 2nd--we'll be opening for Local News Legend, with our friend Ash Bricky, at Golden Bear (21+).

Our debut single, Tired of Driving, is available now on spotify + bandcamp, and our next upcoming single, Roll Up Your Sleeves, is, quite frankly, a banger. Here's proof:

I'm also a solo artist in my spare time, I have been writing by myself since I was 16 and releasing my own music since I was 20.

I consider myself a singer-songwriter with a folk punk soul. My most recent solo release, the Building Blocks EP, has been described by @musicshelfwithmustard as "deeply personal and vulnerable ... as each track builds up and escalates into situations that should make a human feel uncomfortable."

In addition to all of this, I book + promote DIY shows in the Sacramento-area, under the moniker 916 Growth Gigs. I imagine this info is useless to anyone who isn't a DIY band touring through Sacramento, but, under this moniker, I am in the process of curating a compilation album of Paramore covers by queer DIY bands, to be released on bandcamp during pride month this year. All proceeds will benefit the HRC Foundation.

Currently, 16 tracks have been claimed, and it's looking to be a badass tracklist so far!

8. do they have a nickname? who gave it to them? if it's not derived from their real name, what's the story behind it?

Hoity Toity is a nickname that’s derived from their first and last name: Horatio Tatious. It was given to them by their uncle who thought they were a funny kid trying to act so posh and proper XD ever since they were young, Hoity has proven to be very vain and quite the dandy XD but so is most of the rest of their family, they just excelled at it XD

17. How did they spend their summers/free time as a child?

Hoity was a lazy child, their favourite pastime was goofing off by themself and reading books on the occult they shouldn’t have been anywhere near XD their summers were spent at the family villa out in the countryside where Hoity would play with their cousins. The Tatious family are mostly very very clueless and hedonistic save for a few clever business people barely keeping the family afloat, like Hoity’s father.

They also love to play the piano but they never played well enough to impress their father so it was a hobby that has some bitter memories attached.

19. Are they quick to anger? What sets them off?

Hoity is super quick to anger if their upbringing is brought into question or their pride it hurt, they hate being made to do hard work or just being told what to do in general XD but they are also very pathetic and can be intimidated super easily XD

23. How would you describe their voice? Can they sing?

They’re classically trained thanks to their noble background but they are sadly tone deaf and cannot hold a note to save themself, and much to everyone else’s chagrin, they do not know they are tone deaf XD

AHEM Sooo… Don’t mind me… just sharing my two cents on the supercharged friends… and the times they especially were super charging their friend ship. We're talking making notes and charts and a list of Everything That Must Go Right for the Perfect Setup. He's made a list of seventy-three options and eliminated half of them. He's fussed over the ring and has three different options stored in his sock drawer, one in the bottle of shower gel Bill doesn't use, and one up in the rafters. There's an excel file with probabilities for weather and temperature and the mood Bill might be in at that exact moment.

Of course, all these things completely fall apart in the most chaotic manner possible, with a high chance of 'near-death experience' to boot.

Dipper ends up blurting out 'Marry me' after the battle, seizing Bill's hand while his own are all sticky with the blood of their enemies and the survivors groan in anguish in the obliterated wreckage. And it's the most romantic proposal Bill could ever ask for.
