Okay but Jere is very competitive, right? What if he's getting addicted to expanding his boyfriend pokedex? Coming for the really famous guys... hockey legends, presidents, national award athletes, etc etc... That cosy slotting into an armpit and direct eye contact might be intentional idk. Maybe he's doing a checkmark in his mind ✅️
Maybe he also asked Bojan for flirting tips and now Bojči is biting his nails because he misunderstood the intention..

Something something Laudna having had so many years to try blending in, try at being normal, but still being chased from town to town. So instead she learned to stay hidden, unseen, live on the outside. But then she met Imogen, and Imogen saw her weirdness, Imogen let her be herself, and Imogen became her best friend regardless. Imogen stayed with her, and left with her, and lived with her, and fought for her, and brought her back to life the second time. Imogen said "you're my tether". And so now Laudna embraces the weird, the fun scary and the scary scary. Laudna leaps at the chance to meet new people, especially as a group. Laudna proudly proclaims. "I'm the weird one, see? You're not too weird, because I'm the weird one. So don't worry about being yourself, you won't weird me out, we can be friends, right? I like having friends! Have you met my undead rat-bird?"

Thinking about how the Entities in Worm are basically cancer. Their entire goal is to spread and grow and reproduce and consume without limit or regard for anything else around them.
In that regard, Cauldron's strategy to fight them is like chemotherapy- it's basically pumping the world full of lethal chemicals and hoping like hell that it kills the disease before the patient.
There's also something ironic in the fact that Scion's first interaction with a human being was to cure her cancer.

Glorious Masquerade thought-slight spoilers
A slight spoiler for the end of the event under cut
But random shower thought related to Hunchback of Notre Dame
But I keep thinking about how Rollo made Malleus feel fear and how that was a rare experience for him. This human he could actually wipe the floor with got to him.
And I look back at Hunchback of Notre Dame and the opening sequence with the Bells of Notre Dame when Frollo is admonished by the Archdeacon about his sin. The moment it's pointed out that Notre Dame itself (aka God/the Virgin Mary) does see his sin, Frollo fears for his soul for the first time in his life, even if just for a moment and how that plays into his whole everything.
Like the two situations aren't that comparable, outside of one factor: the fact that both characters are really powerful. Frollo is probably one of the most powerful men in Paris, if not the most powerful there is. Malleus is one of the most powerful people in his world.
Neither has much to fear, so the moment they do feel fear it's shaking though in different ways.
For Frollo fear is a bitter experience and he learns no lessons from it and chooses to emotionally abuse Quasimodo the symbol of that low moment in his life.
Malleus is awed and parts with Rollo on surprisingly respectful terms despite the antagonistic bickering between them.
I'm not going anywhere deep in this other than that I really like how twst revisits the Hunchback's idea of powerful people coping with the realization of their own weakness, though both characters deal with it in different ways.

Playing with high Motorics is interesting. You notice things like the winch(that goddam winch). Things that are practical and directly tied to the case. When you are low Motorics you also notice these things but subconsciously. So you become obsessed with a blue door because it speaks to your soul.
Harry explored the entire island before Kim arrives (maybe even the sea fortress?). I wonder if Harry solved the case before he got drunk and blacked out. Or maybe while in some drug and booze induced higher conscientiousness state (I once... had and "interesting" night and could suddenly read peoples minds). Anyway, I wonder if Harry's mind is delivering him clues that he already discovered. Which makes replaying it interesting because you can suddenly see all the hints that are being dropped on you.

But what if Chris just breaks? He just sobs over Buck's body, and no one knows what to do?
And a nurse whispers to Eddie, "Is that his son?"
And Eddie just nods. Because, yes, that is Buck's son. The Diaz boys are his found family, and it's in that moment that Eddie realizes his feelings for Buck just might run a little deeper than friendship.
I think he'll have discussions with various people about this feeling. Not necessarily saying that it's Buck, but he'll definitely want opinions.
Maybe that leads to these "dates."
Also, remember in Season 2 when that girl got her head stuck in the tailpipe and all the girls thought Buck and Eddie were hot?
Eddie said that they weren't his type. Honestly, I get it. They were clearly way too immature for him, but also, he could have said, "sorry, I'm married."
But he didn't.
And sure, maybe he didn't want people to know, but it would definitely be a valid excuse.
Also, Eddie mentions in one episode (it's late, and I can't remember when, lol) something about how he wasn't ready to get married or have a kid. He was in the military, and we don't know for how long, but I can totally see Eddie's dad saying that you marry someone if they get pregnant. Period.
We've heard references from Eddie that his dad was always saying things like, "Man up!" Or "don't be too soft."
A kid living with this his entire life would naturally want a job where he would both 1, seem manly and tough, and 2, create a safe distance between them. His dad wasn't around much so in Eddie's mind, being a "man" means having a wife, having kids, owning a house, and ultimately working your life away for those things.
I can't imagine how scared little Eddie might have felt knowing he was attracted to both men and women. Knowing he actually enjoyed cooking. Playing video games. Watching Soap Operas.
All of those things he does now.
And isn't it odd we barely saw Eddie kiss Shannon or Ana? He didn't even kiss Shannon or hold her when she died. He was upset, absolutely. I do believe he loved her. But he wasn't in love with her. He tries to make it work for Chris and the potential new baby.
Then there's Buck.
Who I honestly believe is Pansexual. Falling for the person is so Buck it's unreal. Notice he doesn't really approach Taylor in a flirtatious way until he believes she withheld the information about Bobby. As soon as he realized it wasn't her choice and she would have ran it, he shuts down pretty quick.
He clearly finds Eddie attractive. He basically said so when Maddie thought Chimney was cute, and Buck assumed she meant Eddie.
Then there's also that poker night with Maddie, Josh, Chimney, and Buck. Josh mentions that he thought Maddie was trying to set him up with Buck. Buck never says anything to have us believe that he wouldn't date a man. And Josh is an out gay man. Gay men know... they just do.
There's the situation where Buck loses Chris during the tsunami, and he's so upset. Not just because he lost Chris but also because he fears that Eddie will hate him. Buck calls Maddie absolutely devastated because he can't tell Eddie that he failed. And I think that this is an important moment becausee Buck has done things to upset multiple people, and he has never been afraid of the consequences. Only when it comes to Eddie does he panic.
I honestly don't know where I was going with this but in all seriousness, if they weren't always going for Buddie to happen in canon, they've been making some really crazy decisions when writing and filming. Like, I've watched a lot of shows that have close guy friends and their relationship dynamic is just completely fucking different than what 911 is doing.
So, take your own advice 911 writers, and man the hell up!
Give us Buddie or stop writing a fanfic slowburn. Your stan is showing.

Falling into Honey
tw: violence, eye injury, implied suicidal thoughts, creepy whumper
Whumpee lay on the floor. Through the foggy mush of their mind they could hear the Hero thrashing about, pleading under those black polished shoes. The shoes glimmered in and out of focus like the blade of a knife swinging tauntingly before their ripped eye socket. Who knows what Whumper was doing to them.
By the time Whumpee had propped themselves up to a sitting position, Whumper had already left. It'd been a peaceful day, just lying about for hours with their back on the cold floor, rusted with their blood. The long gash on their torso still dripping with blood was their perfect excuse for not being a well-functioning adult who contributes to society. If only they could slide down a little more into the dark bliss of pet life; if only Whumper would pull hard enough on the chains around their neck, then nobody could blame them for falling even deeper into a selfless state...
"Go away..."
Whumpee opened their remaining eye at the sound of the Hero mumbling to themselves. Despite their gooey vision, they could feel the Hero glaring intently at the basement door. They still had both of their eyes which were glowing a brilliant gold. Pulling vivaciously against the heavy chains, they seemed to be taking a stand, as if the light in their eyes alone would burn this institution down. Whumpee gazed at the Hero, holding their breath as the gold jumped into their eye and flickered against their grey pupils.
"Die."
"Die..." wheezed the Hero.
Then they collapsed into fitful of wet coughs and the chains easily brought the Hero bowing on their knees. Whumpee blinked as the gold disappeared from their eyes. They'd turned back into the two puddles of honey which Whumper loved to let spill and feast from.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Click. Four cartridges left.
Whumpee bit their lips as they saw the bullet rip into the Hero's shoulder. The scalding metal crunched the bones above their palpitating heart.
"You take it very well honey."
Hero let out an agonising groan.
"It's honestly a bummer," said Whumper as he stroked the revolver, "that it fired when we were still on the second round. I wanted to build a bit more tension..."
Hero tried supporting their broken shoulder with their right arm, but the chains just dug deeper into the wound.
"...because it's fun seeing you scared like this. You know what? I'm going to get another one of these toys and let Whumpee over here pull the trigger for me."
Whumper threw the empty revolver at Whumpee's head.
"If you don't Whumpee, I'll drop you off at the company. And what will they do with a useless body that can't even speak, huh?"
And just like that, Whumper twirled around and left Whumpee stealing concerned glances at the whimpering mess of Hero. Whumpee wanted to comfort Hero, but even a broken Hero might not want to associate with them. They thanked the chains for making the choice to do nothing for them. They despised themselves for it.
"Die..."
It was Hero's voice again.
"Die..."
Whumpee closed their eye this time. Maybe Hero was telling them to die and that could come true if they kept lying in the pool of their own blood.
"... kill... "
How long had it been since the dreams of those sleepless nights had become their reality? Once dreams are fulfilled, the night becomes void.
"Go kill..."
Whumpee sat in the shadows of a beach. The empty revolver lay with them. Before them was the sea in its golden hour, dark waves flapping beneath an incandescent surface. They couldn't tell if the sun peering just above the horizon was rising or setting. When they blinked it blinked with them, and just for a moment, Whumpee felt like falling into its golden embrace.

Definitely issues within the different communities on here including the OC community in the past few years for different reasons like stealing ideas etc and having all these people come forwards saying they had been stolen from and they'd been saying it for a long time but they were constantly told to basically shut up because the instigator had a huge following and influential friends. The person in question was part of a group of people who held hierarchy here once but the thing is a good percentage of them were fine, they didn't act like they were the hierarchy. It was others who made them like that through perception and the way they treated those people wanting their attention etc. It was the minority who abused the position they found themselves in.
However I feel the OC community is now currently dead in the water because that hierarchy has been dissembled, and it shows how much we gathered around them as an epicenter. They dictated trends for fandoms and what we made OCs for etc. There is people trying to form a new hub by making challenges etc but it feels like flagging a dead horse. Plus some of them have bad rep for just courting so called popular people. You can't build community that way but I think they're making the effort now to be better and make a difference.
A few people in the hierarchy who I admired well their true colours show now like hate reading fic etc. I still can't believe they believed their own hype to the point they thought they were superior to other creators on here. Also the person who stole from so many people. That was really bad. Another person I admired would get upset if a new 'contender' emerged whose amazing edits and ideas would naturally get attention. They would openly say how upset they were at this, say they saw this other person as a rival and anyone who sent this rival asks was a backstabber and it was up to the rival to comfort and reassure them and downplay their own talents to be accepted. This person was then applauded for being vulnerable and open? Like what? You rip down this other creator passive aggressively resulting in them crawling on their belly to appease you and offer comfort, as if THEY did something wrong. Again this was a person I really admired once. But talent doesn't make them good people.
Fandoms are the same there is all these toxic elements. I would just love to enjoy the view and share my stuff and other people's stuff. But people only want to like stuff for some reason. I don't mind if it's to bookmark it but for real I wish they would goddamn disable the like button. If you like it enough to like them surely it stands you like it ro reblog?
You're doing the right thing keeping to your friends. Ignore people who call you a clique. They're the reason why we build walls around our friendship groups and ourselves. People are always on the attack or dictating or social climbing. If you find a good person then ofc you're going to protect that friendship and yourself.
Anon, first off, I just wanna say I'm really sorry you've dealt with all of this. The last majorly active fandom (fic wise) I was involved in was over two decades ago, but I have heard and seen the horror stories. I've had friends cry over having things stolen, of hearing the horror stories over people out there who want to rally up and drag anyone who dares call out the theft and bad behavior.
We are human, and we are creative human and wanting recognition and validation for our hard work is never a bad thing. We love being told good job! Well done!
I have dealt with a person like this last summer who I thought made friends with, but then twisted themselves into thinking everything I did in pursuing my own stories was a direct attack on them/in direct response. I had to have friends step in because I was so utterly fucking confused and frankly hysterical.
I'll say this: it's rarely ever just one person. It's the people around them who enable it, who don't call out behavior, because again, we like validation, we don't want to rock the boat. If someone is stealing, or being a bully, call them out. And if they don't listen, just dump them. You and everyone else will be better for it.
I'm in my mid-30s at this point. I've been around the drama friends before and I want no part of it. I'm not here to have a million followers. I'm here to make connection with people that feel meaningful. And others may see that connection as alienating. But I mean... I walked into this fandom and saw... a lot happening. A lot that I didn't want a part of.
Fandom is meant to be a place where we can support each other creatively. And if you're jealous, that is a you thing and it's nothing to be ashamed of feeling, but it is your responsibility to handle. (and I mean a general YOU, not specifically you, anon). This was the issue with the friend I broke away from last year.
There is, in fact, enough internet to go around. How often do we go searching for stories of the same trope and same pairings? No one is going to complain about more chocolate chip cookies at the bake sale.
As an OC writer, I don't know where I stand in fandom. I try to keep my nose out of it, but I do get heated when I see friends and otherwise chill people getting caught unfairly. I just want to write my fic that I'm working really hard on, and I'm sharing it because I want to reach other people and make connections.
