Lester Papadopoulos is a comfort character to me. I’ve been a huge Percy Jackson fan for years now, and I’ve loved many characters (Grover, Nico, Leo, Percy, etc) and when I first read TOA I loved it, but after rereading it…

I fell in love with Lester, this caring and complex character who had many layers to him, that came off as selfish, and yet just so happened to be one of the most selfless characters in the book.

He’s caring, he’s a former god, he’s selfless, he pees himself regularly, he loves his children, he drowned his ex that one time, he is a god of many things, he has had many lovers. He has so many aspects to him that makes him so interesting.

He has a redemption arc as he realizes that he has made mistakes, but also realizes that he has been abused by Zeus, that it most likely influenced how he view things, and how he may have picked up toxic behaviors from Zeus. He learns to be more human, which is such a beautiful arc to see him go through.

He cares SO MUCH about others. He grieves for Jason and Crest and Heloise and so many other people. He tried to sacrifice himself many times and has many heroic qualities, but he is an unreliable narrator and sometimes what he says doesn’t reflect what he does.

His and Meg’s relationship is one of my favorite friendships in the books. It feels like it’s the two of them against the world at times. Meg cares so much for him while also calling him out on his bad actions (like when they were on Sutro Tower) and Lester cares so much for her as he realizes that she has been abused, that she needs help, and that he wants to help her separate from Nero’s influence, that he is so proud of her for standing up to Nero. They both form such a strong bond with each other and I just- I love them!

He is also absolutely hilarious. I find myself laughing as he is just- so snarky sometimes? He also sometimes know random things? (Like the Goddess of Sewers Cloacina) He is also funny when he has no knowledge on how human things work (like not knowing the price of Tater Tot’s)

He also gets anxious and freaks out and cries and he just feels. He gets happy and laughs and gets sad and laments. He gets flashbacks and clearly has trauma but doesn’t let that excuse his bad actions as he feels guilt for his actions. He can also be quite harsh on himself, blaming himself often and sometimes projecting that onto others (like him saying that Piper is blaming him for Crest’s death??) He is such an emotional character and I love him for that.

I love whenever he gets his godly strength as it starts with small things and then it gets to the point that he can create fire with his hands just by simply mentioning cauterizing a wound and breaking Nero’s fasces and having enough strength to drag Python into the Underworld and is strong enough to hold on just enough to save himself from falling into Tartarus. He is such a strong person who has an incredible pain tolerance.

There are many other things that I love about Lester Papadopoulos/Apollo. I think I can positively say that he is my favorite PJO character. I often reread TOA more than the other books. I love the story and how dark it can get while also exploring the themes of how abuse affects you.

I just- I love Meg and Apollo. I need for fanfic of them!! I need more content of them! Their friendship is so underrated, so when I see people make fanfic of them I get so happy!

I also love the community. The fan-artists and the fanfic makers and anyone who just writes long posts, like me, are so talented and is honestly the best fandom I’ve been in.

I hope the PJO show becomes popular so that more people can read these amazing series. I hope there will be a day that TOA gets adapted, and even if it doesn’t, I still have the audiobooks to go back to.

Thanks TOA fandom, for still going strong, even years after the books ended and new books have come out and are still making fanfic about them. It feels like the books have never ended, like the TOA books are still going on and are still making posts.

I’m so happy to be part of such a passionate fanbase.

You set your books down on the table tucked in the corner of the library and sit down, shifting anxiously as you await your tutor. The smell of old papers and the sound of scratching pens from a few bookshelves away does nothing to dispel your nerves. If Ace and Deuce could see just who you’d asked for help, they surely would have yelled at you for hours and wrung out your neck in frustration.

It’s not like anyone else held the same passion for musicology, though. Besides, Floyd Leech wasn’t that bad once you got to know him.

Speak of the devil and he shall appear, you think as he waltzes into the library, a lazy smirk on his face and his hands shoved into his pockets. His back is hunched slightly as he looks around the library, eyes scanning over each face with an almost predatory grin. You raise your arms and wave him over, trying not to make much noise to avoid being yelled at by the crabby librarian.

Floyd does not share that sentiment.

“Shrimpy!” he yells (honestly you don’t think he’s capable of yelling any louder) and bounces over to you.

He sweeps you into his arms in the blink of an eye, cackling madly as he nuzzles you. The librarian shoots the two of you a glare, and you shrink into his chest with shame. You’ll have to apologize to him later.

“Were ya trying to hide from me?” he breathes, sharp teeth on display as he grins down at your bundled-up form, “You know I’d sniff you out, right?”

“I wasn’t.” you protest, but it falls on deaf ears and Floyd squeezes you closer. His nose brushes against your cheek and he borderline snuggles you and you’re glad you’ve picked a table in the corner because if you were any closer to the center everyone would be staring.

“Alright Shrimpy,” he murmurs, setting you down in your chair with two quick taps on your head, “Ya said you needed my help with musicology?”

“I didn’t know who else to ask.” you say, sliding your textbook over to him with a furrowed brow, “You’re the best in that class and I can’t seem to grasp any of it.”

Floyd sits down next to you and leans in close, so close that you can smell the cologne on his clothing. You let him read through the notes you made on the sheet of lined paper you used to mark your page, gnawing at your lower lip self-consciously. You know you aren’t the best at this subject but it’s Floyd’s best, and you don’t want him to think you’re stupid.

He seems to be able to read minds because Floyd looks over at you with a pout.

“Shrimpy, I’d tell ya if you were stupid. So quit worrying.” Floyd scolds, snatching your hand up and squeezing it as he intertwines your fingers, “The fun thing about musicology is that you can analyze and learn from any angle ya want!”

“Freer subjects are harder to work with, though.” you confess, “I’m not sure how to go about...figuring something out when it doesn’t have structure.”

Floyd sticks his tongue out and blows a raspberry as if to say “Boo, Shrimpy. Now you do sound stupid.” You can almost hear his voice.

“Just pick something and we can start from there. What kind of music do ya like?” he bumps you with his shoulder, a huge grin on his face, “Ya gotta have something.”

You answer him, and he makes an “ah-ha!” noise. He mumbles a page number and flicks through the textbook before coming to a stop at a chapter that goes into that exact type of music. There are music scores printed on the right page and some kind of tree diagram on the left one. You stare at the words incredulously, already lost.

“Come on now, Shrimpy. Work that tiny little brain of yours.” Floyd teases, jabbing your temple with a giggle, “I know you can do it.”

You swat his hand away and wiggle your hand out of his hold, feeling a foreign heat creep up on your cheeks. Floyd giggles again as if he knows, and leans in even closer to you.

“Hey Shrimpy.” he whispers, eyes gleaming in the corner of your vision, “I changed my mind, let’s ditch the reading. I’m getting bored. What are ya gonna do about that, huh?”

You’re not sure you can do anything honestly, but you expected him to leave pretty early on in your study session anyway. It’s a miracle you got him to agree in the first place.

“Oh, you can leave.” you offer him a quick smile and turn back to your textbook, pouring over the words, “I didn’t expect you to stay the whole time- Woah!”

You’re swept out of your chair but the second time that day, and your body thumps against Floyd’s. He stares at you with a cheerful grin as he takes your hands and places them on his arms. You jump a bit when his lanky arms wrap around your waist, but when he starts swaying slowly you get the idea.

“Let’s try something else, yeah?” he snickers, “Can you tell me why people slow dance?”

“Um...to feel emotional closeness?” you say, eyes glued to his rumpled purple shirt so you don’t have to look him in the eye.

“Bingo.” he chuckles, “Merpeople also have dances like this.”

You’re tempted to ask what those dances are for, but you don’t. Floyd sweeps you around and your feet lift off the floor for a second, but you don’t feel like you’re going to fall. Floyd squeezes you a bit tighter as he guides you, somehow avoiding any tables and chairs and bookcases with master precision.

“I didn’t know you could slow dance.” you whisper, “I thought you were more of a fast paced dancer.”

“Meh. Normally.” he shrugs, “But I like dancing like this with ya. It’s fun.”

Your heart flutters.

“Can ya tell me anything else about it?” he hums, lifting his arm and spinning you around. Your breath catches in your throat as he dips you, the arm carefully holding up your waist your only support.

“Um...” you stumble over your words, grasping for any thoughts as you stare into his eyes, “Uh, it’s- um, slow dancing brings people physically closer too? Because you can feel their movement and everything-”

“Good little Shrimpy.” he giggles, hoisting you back up and resuming his more soothing swaying, “See? You’re doing good. I told ya you’d figure it out.”

Did he? You don’t even remember.

“I think I need more instruction.” you mumble, eyes darting away once again.

Floyd laughs loudly at that, but this time you don’t care when the librarian shushes you.

What if Percy gets transported back to the PJO world pregnant with a child! Like, it could be from any one of her lovers (yanderes) and then Hera wipes her memory - which she freaks out because... i think after hera kidnapped percy she put him to sleep for a few months and then sent him to the wolf house... soooo when our percy wakes, it'd already be four months. by then, there'd be a slightly noticeable bump

can you imagine waking up and realizing you're pregnant, but not even remembering HOW? were you raped? were you married? how did this happen?! our poor girl's gonna go through so much, because i doubt lupa would care. she's a greek who was sent by hera, she's not getting any mercy from the wolf.

she stays in the wolf house until june. she's out in the wilderness. no proper shelter. probably has to hunt for her own food. no doctors/hospitals around so no proper natal care too. she'd have to go through all that AND find a way to camp jupiter. i think the only reason she doesn't miscarry is cuz she's carrying a god's child 😣

Everyone, important question incoming, is it better to have my story name in Modern English?

“As Far as the Eastern Mire”

Or does it sound better in the proper Old English?

“Tō Faran tō se Feorr Ēasterne Myrr”

I need advice.

Okay but in all seriousness the Old English, or Anglo Saxon, translation is a little off, and I need your guys help (historian of Tumblr I call upon you). Breaking it down into chunks; “Tō” just means “to” on modern English, it comes from the Proto-Germanic “Tō” so not much change there.

Now here’s the first leap, the first two words are “Tō Faran” which means, in a simplified way “To Travel.” “Faran” literally translates “to go/to travel/to fare,” which doesn’t seem like a big deal right? Except for the fact “to travel” is nowhere in the original title.

So what’s the big idea? Where’d “To Travel” come from?

We’ll I’m getting to that, so sit down and get some apple juice because we’re gonna be here for a second or two. In the original sentence “As Far as the Eastern Mire” it’s really a incomplete sentence which originates from my first “arc” (dude I have not plotted out this story very well so arc really isn’t even a thing yet, it could be the first arc or hell maybe it’ll only be the first chapter) my main character, Princess Æthelhild is taking about traveling to the Eastern Mire, which for her and her comrades is like half a world away. So the sentence implies travel, and said travel to the Eastern Mire, which is far away. However, trying to translate “As far as the” in Old English turns out to be “Ealswā Feorr ealswā se.” Which would mean “also far also the,” now it should be said that Wikipedia seems to think that ealswā meant “as” alongside “also”… but it’s really big and the way I read it doesn’t seem correct.

In the end I think “to travel” works a lot better.

Then we get to the rest of the title where I honestly wasn’t sure where else to go. So the rest of the sentence translates to “to the far Eastern Mire”.

And there you go, enjoy the Old English and the hours of needing spent to get a name that isn’t suuuuuper correct but it works. If you know a linguist or historian who can help let me know. Otherwise I’m gonna go lie down now.

i want to write many things. many many things. in all of them, i would like a minimum of two bi characters, and in one of them i want all characters to be bi.

neither is common in media, so i guess it means i have to make it myself, even if it's just for me.

Splints and Draxum story dump

The night feels serene, no buzzing loud noises from above. Everyone is asleep after playing games and Draxum–reluctantly, puts a blanket on April –and the turtles in which they all got a bit of blankets and April seems to be hogging it.

“ Thank you, ”

A voice behind the sheep said. He turned, Splinter holding a plate of sandwiches, smiling at him.

“ It was for April, ”

The rat nodded, smirking. He returned to the kitchen. He don't know why but he followed him.

“ I thought you're already asleep. ” the sheep said.

“ I was just making some snack for myself, then I guess I'm late for the party. ”

Draxum hummed in acknowledgment. Splinter sat on the table, offering him one of the sandwiches he made.

“ You didn't use you tail this time, ” Draxum said, examining the sandwich. Egg Mayo sandwich, he'll add it to his menu.

“ My tail is a bit dirty today, ”

“ Your tail is always dirty, ”

“ So you said, ”

“ Thanks. For the sandwich; and, for using your hand this time, ”

my spicy i’m really spicy take on Jeff the killer

last post i kind of went on rant about the Jeff the killer story which i read and listen to dozen of time. i know it crap now a day, Jeff is kind of joke of a character. people including myself toke it too seriously for really bad story. why oh did any one see this crap of story as masterpiece who knows! I think as far i’m  aware Jeff story has rebooted  I think though never really bother to check it. he story has been i think moved to crappypasta i think.

but listening to know i just help but think this poor kid. let me tell my take on this crap of story what i toke away from it. I’m not going to tell you all of it just parts of it. one it said Jeff felt happy after hurt the bully character  it meant to be sign that Jeff is evil but really i toke it as nothing, the bully character rob them for really no reason they almost beat the shit of his brother i think i remember something like that happening. yes jeff toke a little too far, but in his defense he was really defending himself and his brother then there the part he was fire from i forget bleach maybe? and the parent you know the adults just started and watch as Jeff is a fire his whole fucking body is on fire and this fucker just stand there and watched. i think one of the bully character had a gun. but it just everyone watch as Jeff whole body burned no one did anything. i’m really surprised Jeff didn’t die

there the whole unwrapping his bandage and his face being reveal him saying he loves it. i really toke it as him begin to mental breakdown a bit, really think about it he seeing his face for the first time in what weeks i think to see this fucked up face, that doesn’t even look like him anymore i think he started to really having a mental breakdown. the doctor just wave off this kind of sign he under distress by oh it the medicine we gave him  not our problem good lucking with the kids who starting to mental break. then the whole cutting his cheek and burning his eyelid thing. he left alone unsupervised, never even checked on by his parent any point before this point as far as i can tell. Jeff was left alone to deal with it himself, everyone is like look i know you’re dealing with this new face and it clear something going on with you..but we tired we going to bed deal with yourself. the whole cutting his cheek and burning his eye lid is just really bad self harm for a person who clearly having crisis and no one did a god damn thing. i think it mention his mother hears him crying, so i really toke it as he really not doing this willingly he doing this as cry for help or attention. and when his mother see that he did to his face, clearly his under distress she doesn’t think my son  has just harmed himself maybe i should help him then whole am i beautiful thing the way i saw it Jeff was so disgusted by his new appearance he just wants anyone some one to tell him a good looking person   like he use to be, i mean i think he was just constantly lying to himself that he was still beautiful as a coping mechanism but hey that just me. then his mother in her brightest move ever seeing her son is going through what clear to me a mental breakdown to point where he self harming, she just goes to her husband and tell him to get the gun which meant they were going to fucking shot their own son there no other it can be taken. why get  a gun for a person who really struggle probably bleeding too and is really clear just at the breaking point. i can’t see pointing at him to reason with him will work.

the story was probably meant to be oh Jeff was always a killer or something. i just toke it as this poor kid going through some much trauma so fast it breaking him for his parent to then turn on then he fucking snapped.  imagine yourself you maybe i don’t slit your wrist or something you turn for your parent for support when it obvious cry of help. to hear you parent talk about how their going to kill just for doing that.

Jeff was clearly to me at lest as person who suffer with mental issues was mentally breaking the moment he saw his face, he try to cope with it saying  he beautiful he still disgusted by it no matter how time he says it. he left unsupervised and alone for who know how long it was i don’t remember with no help or support for his family i don’t think once they ever try to comfort him in any way. then Jeff stop lying to himself having really serve mental breakdown in the night. he goes to the bathroom and what obvious to do self harm but to the extreme cause he not thinking straight. his mom come in see what he done to himself knowing he just got out the hospital dealing with a i call a deformed face. he clearly near the break pointing it kind sounded desperate to me for Jeff to ask his mom am i beautiful?   like it was the only hope he had left, then to hear his mother tell his father to get a gun, he know what that meant, they were going to kill him. he then snaps he just fucking loses it. all hope he ever had left shattered. they saw him as he saw himself a monster.

yeah i think he really fuck up the bullies during the whole fight, but the story kind forget that by saying the bullies turn themselves in that why liu was out of jail and he didn’t get in trouble. i mean one them brought a gun I’m pretty sure lord know why this kid who think was  a little older  then Jeff got a gun in first place. no one questioned that ever like where this kid got gun from.

i think Jeff just finally embrace this monster he has become, plus he just clearly mentally unstable clearly suffering with some type of real mental issues that are never address never acknowledge at any point. to me he suffering with mental issues i can’t tell what personally i think it PTSD,  maybe dissociative identity disorder i really don’t know not saying people who have it in real life are like that.

i just theorizing this crap story it probably the same reason ever killer now a day go crazy either their were crazy for no real reason or they were bullied.

I’m sorry i just I’m over analyzing this old crap story. it was read by some people on the internet did think at the time not even me, this story was kind of shitty to begin with. i know now a day jeff is not scary anymore he just a huge joke.

he often paired the most even though he i think he fourteen when it tell the story so that big yikes at most he age up i say is sixteen maybe seventeen that what i think he age is when the story begin. i read some awful stories with him it the slender man, the jane killer one where i think they have sex i don’t recall even though in Jane story she suppose to hate Jeff guts and she is a canon lesbian by the creator so yikes on that too . then the dear god sally x  Jeff ship you know play with me sally story that was really big( i read it, it has child rape for no good reason other then to make the bad guy look i don’t more bad it real crap don’t bother to read honestly) you know the little girl who often can see by slenderman side for really no reason. well guess what the creator of sally age up for some goddamn i can’t understand and is now pairing her character with Jeff and Ben you know the ten year who drown and haunt a game that one so another yikes i guess she has draw porn of them screwing believe i wanted to bleach my eyes out when i saw that and remember Ben is canon to be ten years old yet it doesn’t no one from aging him making his bleed cause that cool i guess. and make him a prevent character dear god what have they done to you Ben the story was good to, it was the first one i genuinely liked and you were a statue in the game. now you this...all the really poplar one back in the day has been just this big joke. i listen  to  laughing jack it was godawful, one of the worst i listen to women get killed in very cruel way just cause you know we got to explain why jack is crazy i guess it just honestly just so hard to sit through hearing these description he poplar too and he even has knock off based off him. eyeless jack who i always toke as some kind of demon he a hot guy now with also bleeding eyes and kidney eating instead being any  where near disturbing like the creator I’m sure tend it to be  , it just his quirky  treat. Jane who suppose to be this tragic figure who seek revenge on Jeff for badly burning her body to point where has to wear a mask and killed her family she in love with him for good reason I’m sure, ticci tody the character who went crazy from seeing slender-man he like waffles for some reason also he love this girl called clockwork i think i can’t remember i listen to her story by the way, it involves insect rape how fun. Slender man this mysterious figure who been around for who know how long luring children into the wood never to be seen  again. he has now a slender-man family and a own mansion which most of the killer live in and don’t tempt to kill each other even though..their killer. one the slender man jokes is oh he rapey and a pervert  yeah that the joke  never once found it funny.

i read this god awful fan fiction by i don’t remember who trying to explain eyeless jack origins i guess  i don’t remember much other then Jack was normal person for some reason. i think he goes crazy though i can’t remember why. then magically he eyeless jack. never explains why the kidney thing though.

anyway was this suppose to be about i see Jeff as much deeper character not me ranting on how creepypasta aren’t scary anymore? i don’t even remember what i was talking about let me go on another rant. Jeff is suppose to be burnt but everyone betray him as this gorgeous guy with i shit you not a six pick even though he was young and his skin is burnt. some betray him as scary but i don’t really see that as often as hot Jeff. dear god how the creepypasta just became just a joke
