So I've been staying off Tumblr for MONTHS to avoid Good Omens season 2 spoilers because I was having a whole executive dysfunction thing and took forever to get around to watching it.
Well, today I finally did, and I realize I'm late and all, but WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WAS THAT.

Me: I can't be autistic. Having ADHD is enough!
Also me:
- known to be extremely shy and introverted in the beginning but becoming a full on monster once familiar
- if I like a movie, I watch it 10 times over and then research every single thing about it. Then watch it 50 times more. Buy merch, make sketches, watch video essays, review videos, reaction videos and then info dump about it any chance given (or not given)
- starts rocking involuntarily when immersed into something. Happy dances and stimming every so often.
- can't remember a person I've shared a class with for years on end. But show a random screenshot from a movie I watched a decade ago and I can visualise the scene, name the movie, actors and the plot immediately. (sometimes even if I haven't watched the movie)
- says something literal that has people laughing and stands there chuckling awkwardly not knowing what they found so funny
- gots to step on a fallen leaf. Crunchier the better!
- forgets to drink water for an entire day. Even when the bottle is right there but JUST outside my field of vision
- gets overwhelmed by social interactions and runs from it but cries about being lonely
- gets awkward when even a family member or a close friend hugs me.
- has built an extensive vocabulary but gets nervous while talking, sometime stopping mid sentence and just leaving the conversation altogether.
- collects shoes, clothes, key chains, action figures, movies, photographs, etc.
- gots to pluck a leaf everytime I pass a low hanging branch of a tree
- repeats a phrase from a movie or TV show in normal conversation...without even realising it.
- has a LOT of sensory issues.
- so much trauma and info dumping in conversations with a potential new friend. Like just STOP!
- extremely naive and trusting, has a strong sense of justice and takes rule following to new heights
- couldn't talk to guys. Still find it difficult and avoid it.
- contemplating whether or not to share this post......

The Time Before - Eddie's Movies
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
260 words
an: hey!!! life's been pretty crazy with exams and everything, and since I haven't posted in a while, here's a little fluff for you all! I've been obsessed with all the Godzilla and Kong movies recently, and wanted to put something in here because I think it fits Eddie so well! Hope you enjoy!
cw: fluff, slight mentions of child abuse
================================================Eddie had never gotten the chance to watch many movies at his former house; when his father was home, he would hog the tv, caring only to watch football games. The second time Eddie was placed in Wayne's care, Wayne decided to rent as many movies as he could that seemed like they would interest his nephew. Wayne laid them all on the shelf below the coffee table in careful piles.
Eddie had been quiet so far into his stay, much like the first time he was brought to Wayne, only much more enclosed, enveloped in himself. Wayne barely saw him leave his room, seeing it as a protective barrier from his brother's actions.
After they had finished dinner one night three weeks into Eddie's stay, Wayne suggested they put on a movie. "You go pick. They're all underneath the coffee table," he suggested. Eddie walked into the living room and picked the first one on the stack. He wasn't very interested at first, but once the opening scene of Godzilla vs. Megalon started, he was sucked in.
Practically attached to the movies, he spent the next two days watching every movie he could find. Godzilla, King Kong, and the Universal Monsters became his companions over the warm summer when his hair finally started to grow back out. Boris Karloff was his idol, and he even received a poster that has been tacked on his wall since his 12th birthday.
He wouldn't admit it until years later, but he cried at Kong's death at the end of King Kong (1976).

I honestly have no idea how they intend to greenlight volume 10 if it's not been greenlit already. They've announced the final season of Red vs Blue and a lot of early day fans are in agreement that the end of RvB is the signaling of the end of RT in general. It's their second biggest money maker next to RWBY. After this new season, it's over. What do they do next? Do RT really believe that RWBY is popular enough to coast on for another decade? It'll be a miracle if it lasts even one more year.
Their viewership has been on a decline since Volume 6, they've abused so much of their animation department that there's almost no one left, most of their VA talent for RWBY's popular characters aren't coming back due to all the controversies, any spinoffs or soft reboots or whatever keep going back to the Beacon era and don't really do much to help with the overall problems that are down to the roots of the company.
They even made their biggest ship that kept what few fans are left canon and put out half assed merch that sold out in minutes, and somehow they still haven't managed to find enough money to greenlight another volume?
If they somehow miraculously get Volume 10 made, it's probably going to be the last.
The last few years of RWBY have really highlighted for me how challenging it is to define "popularity" and "success" nowadays. Granted, a good chunk of that is simply my own ignorance about how the production side of things are run, but it nevertheless feels like there's this intense level of ambiguity that wasn't there in the past (or at least wasn't as obvious). Fandom itself has always been an unreliable source because depending on the corner of the internet you're in, you can get a wildly skewed perspective without engaging with everything that contradicts how "good" or "bad" you think things are going. As you say, merch sells out in minutes, yet neither the finances nor the implied security of that seems to be enough to land another Volume. There are questions about whether this could be a marketing scheme, wherein Volume 10's future is simply being kept under wraps to drum up interest. There's the question of whether popularity matters at all when we've got companies cancelling and pulling undoubtedly successful shows, all according to their own, long-term algorithms. On the one hand the information surrounding RT is all about the abuse of their workers, another scandal, how this might all tie into the strikes... and yet most of this is nothing new and RWBY has still secured movies, a soft reboot, comics, and books. I agree completely with your list above of all the ways in which the series is struggling (massively) and yet RWBY has been "dying" for half its run-time. So is this the final nail in the coffin—the inevitable ending that's been a long time coming—or just another year where the fandom unintentionally cries wolf?
I'm not so naive as to believe that things were actually simple 'back in the day'—that's the nostalgia talking—but it still seems like things were simpler in comparison to what we've got now. TV and its media equivalents used to be—or at least felt like—a fairly straightforward journey of airing, ratings, syndication, cancellation, renewal, and then (eventually) the viewer securing a copy for themselves via VHS and DVDs. Now it's like, "What do I do with the newbie webseries eventually bought up by a major corporation and moved from a free watch, to a company-specific streaming watch, to a different, more expensive streaming watch, all of which has led to a decade of success with various spinoffs, but apparently this webseries still isn't making enough money to continue? Regardless, it and everything else I love to watch is inching more and more towards digital-only copies, a status that is inherently nerve-wracking, which means that if it does suddenly crash and burn (given that this is one of two series keeping the original company afloat) circulating this story and maintaining the fandom will be that much harder."
I find that depressing and I'm someone who thinks RWBY is pretty awful right now. I can't imagine what that ambiguity and the state of streaming media in 2023 feels like to fans still in love with the show.
So yeah. Idk how they intend to greenlight Volume 10 either.

15 questions 15 friends
i was tagged by i thinkkk @bright-and-burning and @481boxboxbaby absolutely ages ago, sorry it's taken me so long to get to this!
Are you named after anyone? no! my mum liked the name sophie because it means ‘wisdom’ in greek and she’d lived in greece for a while.
When was the last you cried? i had a little sob watching the ‘life and death of lily savage’ documentary on itv the other week because i am still so, so sad about paul o’grady dying, i adored him. as a kid, my favourite comedians (who i saw on tv) were julian clary and lily savage. half their jokes flew over my head but that dog was always in me!! anyway, as for real sobbing crying… i’m actually not sure? it was a while ago for sure. may it stay that way 🙏
Do you have kids? nope, and i won’t be having them. people used to tell me i’d change my mind once i got older and now i’m 35 and still have not experienced a single maternal twinge.
What sports do you play/have you played? i don’t play any kind of competitive sports and have avoided them for most of my life (i have extremely poor hand-eye coordination, hypermobile limbs and rubbish lungs. i’m not built for speed) but i do pole fitness and have done for about three years now, i’m not great at it (see above) but i loooove it and it’s gotten me way more hench than i was.
Do you use sarcasm? i used to use it constantly as a defence thing but less so these days. i do still use it though yeah.
What is the first thing you notice about people? sometimes i have this thing where the first second i meet someone i have this weird shine effect where i know they’re going to be a very important part of my life (good or bad). it’s only happened about three or four times but it’s always been right. on a more prosaic level: eyes, smile, body language.
What is your eye color? blue. it’s quite bright.
Scary movies or happy endings? scary movies!! love a good horror. i don’t like jumpscares or found footage/haunted doll whatever ones, but i love the nasty shit: video nasties, torture porn, french extreme, pinky horror, faux snuff, that kinda thing. i don’t want them so much these days but i was pretty obsessed for a while.
Any talents? i’m good at writing and drawing/painting, and i’m quite practical in the sense that i can fix things and build things, like i LOVE building flatpack furniture. i think my main ‘talent’ though is just that i can pick things up quickly. if i’m shown how to do something, generally i can do it pretty well quite quickly and i don’t need to be shown lots of times, and i’m good at being given a starting point and figuring things out from there. i think that’s the ‘talent’ i use most in life, certainly in work anyway.
Where were you born? north-west england.
What are your hobbies? writing! painting, drawing, reading, gaming, pole, strength training. i also have the classic ADHD thing of picking a new thing to be obsessed with for a month and spending a fortune on it three times a year.
Do you have any pets? no :( my mum has a lovely big useless fat cat called bandit though who i have shared custody of, she just can’t live at my flat.
How tall are you? 5’8’’ or 172cm
Favorite subject at school? art and english. i also quite liked what we called ‘tech’ which was like woodwork, metalwork, product design type stuff.
Dream job? i do not dream of labour. fr though i don’t really have one and never have, apart from maybe writer or artist but realistically i think i’d end up hating them if i had to rely on them to pay my bills. i thought about trying to get into motorsport jobs for a while but the hours look long, the pay is terrible, the atmosphere for femme people is…mixed, and i’d have to move halfway across the country. so yeah idk. universal basic income now!
not tagging anyone bc i'm so late to the party on this lol, but if you haven't been tagged and want to be, lmk and i'll tag you!

When you get this, list 5 songs from the Asian QL shows that you actually listen to. 🎶They do not have to be custom-made for the series. 🎶Non-western tracks only. Let's support Asian music and languages! 🎶Feel free to tag anyone who may be interested in participating. 🎶Add #5qls tag to your post for others to find the new favourites!
No one tagged me in this one either, but I'm once again participating from the sidelines to practise sitting in front of the computer! I've decided to omit the thai bangers that everyone knows (Skyline, Over the moon, Just friend etc) but please be assured I listen to them a lot.
Quruli - Hachigatsu wa boku no namae
youtube
Quruli is my favourite band, so when this started playing during More Than Words, I Cryed.
2. Sano Ibuki - Maria Road
youtube
This is the ending song of the movie His that I subbed a few years ago. I ugly cried when it started playing. A few days I later I went to watch the movie again with my spouse who cried so much we couldn't leave the cinema haha. It was snowing heavily that day. Just the perfect way to close the movie. I haven't listened to it recently but I was obsessed with it for months after the movie came out.
3. Matsuyama Ryuu - blue blur
youtube
This is the opening of Oldfashioned cupcake. It was my most listened song in 2022. I listened to it like 400 times on repeat while digging holes in the yard. I don't usually find new Japanese music from shows because I already have so many faves but this guy I wasn't familiar with before.
4. Khiian khai lä vanish - Gääm nong naang nan dääng kwaa khrai (transcription by me, I don't know the official transcription if there is one lol sorry)
youtube
This is the song Tian & Phupha sing in karaoke in Atots. I actually like the artist's other song better but that one is not in any bls as far as I'm aware of. I've been obsessed with this cover by Praang Praangthip for years now:
youtube
5. Billkin & PP Krit - Mai ploi müü Coming of Age
youtube
I'm obsessed with all the Itsay and Ipytm songs and a lot of their solo material. Billkin is such a talented singer????? I'm not so weirded out by all the singing bl guys because I've been long exposed to the Japanese idol industry where you have a guy or a girl who sings, dances, acts, sells products and does variety tv without necessarily being good at any of it and your role as a fan is to root for their personal growth. Having said that, Billkin is genuinely such a good singer!! His voice comes out so effortlessly. It's quite unfair how some people are born rich, find their soulmate as a teenager and become famous with said soulmate all the while possessing these actual talents while some of us (not naming any names) are sitting in front of our computers in mom's hand-me-down fleece jackets and having endometriosis haha.
I listen to a lot of Japanese music and a lot of Thai songs too but most of them aren't in any bls so I'll have to leave them for another post!

What did you have for dinner tonight?: It's only 10 AM, but last night we went to Solaire to watch Miss Saigon and we went with an Asian spread. I got bao, rice paper rolls, and pad thai.
If you were given a million dollars, what would you spend it on? I'd keep a good portion of it as savings and not touch it until I'm like, 65; the rest I would give to my parents.
Have you ever cried in front of your parents over a boyfriend or girlfriend?: Nope.
What does your bedroom smell like right now?: Like coffee, I'm guessing.
Have you ever shaved off your eyebrow before?: I've never done that but I did have trichotillomania growing up so I had phases where I was missing chunks of my eyebrows.
Do you want to have a boy or girl whenever you have kids?: Girl.
Your pregnant with twins: What do you name them?: Definitely not similar names like Kaye and Kate as it would only make me more confused haha.
Describe your outfit.: Only in loungewear today as I'm at home, but last night I had on a dark green halter dress that went down to a bit above my knees. It also had a slit on the left leg side. I wore black heels and a small black shoulder bag as well.
What gigabyte is your memory card?: I haven't had a hard drive since high school, even though I know I really should invest in one.
What brand is your digital camera?: I don't own a digicam but damn if those things aren't seeing a resurgence lately. I might be the only one in my age group left who still doesn't have one.
When was the last time you hung out with your best friend?: Angela came over last month just to hang out and have some heart to hearts here and there.
What is a movie you're waiting to see?: I've been meaning to watch The Iron Claw. It's not all the time that a movie centered around wrestling gets to be produced and becomes critically-acclaimed at that, so I'm looking forward to seeing it.
Who was the last person to cook something for you?: Apart from the crew at Solaire lol, my mom.
Do you ever sit and think what if about something?: Sure, I think it's inevitable to come across those thoughts every now and then.
If so, what is it?: It's always very different. Like what if we're one of those families able to migrate, what if Kimi was still alive, what if I chose to be a journalist...there's a million scenarios with a million possibilities and how actively my mind runs I could be thinking about anything.
What’s on tv right now?: My own TV isn't it but I know my sister is watching some streamer play video games in the living room TV.
Do you ever stop and smell the roses?: Sure, if I remember to.
Where do you download music from?: I listen to music on Spotify but never download cause it'd take up so much storage if I were to download all the albums I like.
How many channels do you have on your tv?: Don't really throw around the word 'channels' anymore, but as for apps we have subscriptions to and regularly use it'd be Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Prime, Apple TV, and quite recently this local sports channel since it's the only one in the country that airs WWE live.
What are you most scared of?: Getting cancer or dementia. < This, but these circumstances happening to my family. I honestly don't think I'd care as much if it happened to me.
If you were given a chance to bring someone back to life, who would you choose?: No one. If it's their time, it's their time; and I don't want to fuck around with grief.
Do you talk to any of your ex boyfriend/girlfriend?: Nope.
If so, which one?:
What is your mom doing right now?: I think she's on her phone just reliving our Miss Saigon experience last night haha. I'm glad she really enjoyed it! She watched the 2000 Manila tour – it was still Lea Salonga playing Kim - and I call out Lea cause she set such a high standard for Kim; and it made me worried that her Gen X self might end up simply comparing the 2024 show to what she watched 24 years ago.
I was happy and relieved it wasn't the case and she had so much fun. As for me my soft spot was hit all evening knowing that she originally watched with my dad, and now she got to watch the play with her three kids.
Are you currently listening to music?: I'm not.
What is the weather like right now?: I mean it's your typical weather in the Philippines in April. Approaching 40C, humid, uncomfortably and nearly painfully hot.
Do you like new music or older music?: I think it's a good mix.
Do you agree that abortion is wrong?: No.
If you could make a law, what would kind of law would you make?: I just wanted to get rid of e-bikes on highways but the government has already been on that so yay hahaha.
What was the last video game you played?: Mario Kart 8 on the Switch.
What is currently going on in the room you're in right now?: Apart from me taking this, noting.
Do you know where your best friend is?: I'm almost certain she is at home as it is still quite early.
Who was the last person to comment you on Facebook?: Angela, I think.
What is your display picture of on Facebook?: Me posing in front of the Impact Arena in Bangkok a few hours before Yoongi's concert.
Do you ever sit and think about the past?: Just occasionally.
If you could relive any moment in time: what would it be?: Let's go with a recent memory – Wrestlemania Sunday with 200 Cody-crazed fans watching the ref count to three.
Are you a talker or a listener?: Listener.
What is one food you will not eat?: Mango.
Do you eat anything now that you never used to eat?: Curry and wasabi.
Have you ever kissed the same sex?: Yes.
When does school start this year?: Haven't been in school since 2020.
What genre of music do you refuse to listen to?: Country. Which is why it's taking me forever to take on Cowboy Carter hahaha.
Do you ever shout for absolutely no reason?: I don't think so. If I scream it's always for a reason lol.
Have you stuck with your new years resolution?: I don't make em.
Do you need to lose any weight right now?: No. If anything I need to gain some. I was well under 100lbs at my last physical exam and the nurses also told me I had low blood pressure which had to do with my weight, so it might be healthiest to gain a few pounds.
What is something you want right now?: I wish I can just stay at home but alas I've been booked the last few days haha. Saturday - Work event Sunday morning - Wrestlemania Saturday Monday morning - Wrestlemania Sunday Tuesday - Miss Saigon Wednesday - Afternoon out with Bea and Kata Thursday & Friday - Work Saturday - Rest Sunday - Work event
Even then it's still kinda hard to be excited about Saturday because I know it's sandwiched between two busy days anyway.
Do you hate when you see teachers in stores?: I don't hate it but I also don't wish for it to happen.
What always puts a smile on your face?: My dogs.
Where can I find you on a Saturday night?: At home with a cup of coffee.
What is the best thing about Sundays?: The free time - for the most part, at least.
What is your music provider (itunes, windows media player): I just use Spotify.
How many songs do you have?: I don't download songs.
When was the last time you had a period?: Two weeks ago.
Why do you think the sky is blue?: Idk.
If you could change the sky to any color which would you choose?: I wouldn't change it. We get different colors already anyway.
Is there anything wrong with you right now?: I mean I'm running on 2 hours of sleep so I don't super particularly feel my best rn but I think I'll manage.
Do you hate when people stare at you?: It bothers me a little bit, yeah.
What always makes you angry, no matter what?: Toddlers throwing a tantrum.

if not stargate, what show/movie would you hyperfixate on? (I wanna know if I've heard of them because all the good sci-fi shows/actors are Canadian)
okay honestly i've hyper fixated on so many shows and movies in my life 😅 obviously none to the point of sga (nothing is the the point of sga) but i've had a few
for tv shows: Bones is my biggest ones, i have rewatched that show so many times and i've cried over it almost as much as stargate. it's like 12 seasons long but it's great, very strong Found Family vibes which if you know me you know is my jam!!! i also recently watched New Girl for the first time (funny bc the lead female character in both shows are sisters irl!) and OH BOY did i get obsessed! it was actually what got me back into reading fanfiction again bc i needed jess/nick fan fic in my life
as for movies: my biggest one is definitely the hunger games, the trilogy as a whole is good but i hyperfixated on the first one hard. i've seen the movie over 30 times and it never fails to put me in a better mood i love it. also the iron giant, i haven't watched that movie in years but i get chills every time i watch it and it's so good, the animation in it is BEAUTIFUL and it's so funny and heartwarming i could watch it forever

15 questions and 15 mutuals
Thanks for tagging me @transgayhawkeyepierce !! I don't have very many mutuals so I'm going to be tagging some of the most active people in my notes as well (love you guys <33) [and sorry to those who have already been tagged in this lol]
tagging: @faggothawkeyepierce, @lornescaritas, @natureofspace, @holyladyllama, @pompoxregs, @owo-bisexy, @time2andspace, @lunarianlibrarian, @sourdoughstopper, @lil-bub-lil-bub, @allhailqueenant, @heysparky-radarhere, @symphonyincoordination, @saazbaum, @spacesapphist (hope y'all don't mind, and you're in no way obligated to participate !)
Btw I changed the formatting quite a bit just cause the original was hard for me to read:
1. Were you named after anyone?
Originally, yes, I was named after a tv show character (who was an adaptation of a comic book character). Though I now share a name with the main character of a movie I like, I did not name myself after him, I just thought it suited me.
2. When was the last time you cried?
In May when I watched Guardians of the Galaxy 3
3. Do you have kids?
No
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
No, but I think I used to?
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
It depends, but I think it's mainly their clothes ??
6. What’s your eye color?
Hazel, but my bestie describes them as bog water colored (they are brown-green)
7. Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy endings. I am far too scared.
8. Any special talents?
Getting beautiful women to fall in love with me, ah haha 😏
(In seriousness, I don't think I have any special talents.. Unless you consider me being able to move my eyebrows independently of each other a talent)
9. Where were you born?
Jersey. The new one.
10. What are your hobbies?
Been really into Setris (sand tetris) lately. I play it when I listen to audiobooks. I also like watching tv, baking, sewing (which I do once every 6 months), and writing (which I haven't done in over a month now and would like to get back to eventually [I'm clown_town_mayor on ao3 btw if you're interested in reading my mash fics 👀])
11. Have any pets?
3 kitties! Shadow, Spatz, and Hawkeye- 5 years, 5 years, and approx. 2 months respectively.
12. What sports do you play/have you played?
I used to do soccer and karate when I was a young kid but I'm not into sports/physical activity
13. How tall are you?
5'6 at full height + my hair, but about 5'4 with my slouch, though I always wear heeled boots to it rounds out to like 5'5-ish
14. Favorite subject in school?
I didn't have favorite subjects as much as I had favorite teachers, so I'll say my all-time favorite was my 10th-grade English teacher. Loved that man, he was the coolest!!
15. Dream job?
Househusband. Dead serious.

I honestly can’t remember but knowing me it had to have been recently. 😆 3. Do you have kids? Yep, just the one. 4. What sports do you play/ have you played? My athletic career ended with 4th grade YMCA basketball. Early on in my career, I worked in sports, so it always was funny that I never actually played the sports I covered. 5. Do you use sarcasm? Nope. Not at all 😉 6. What is the first thing you notice about people? Eyes or smile. 7. What's your eye color? Brown. 8. Scary movies or happy endings? I used to not be into scary movies but over the years I’ve really gotten into it (although I am selective). But at the end of the day, I’m a softie so I love a happy ending. 9. Any talents? No, not really. 10. Where were you born? California 11. What are your hobbies? I don’t really have that much time for hobbies anymore since the little one takes up a lot of time. I enjoy going to the theme parks, I go to at least one every weekend. Is going to the movies considered a hobby? If so, then that. I used to have a pretty active Instagram presence but backed off of it considerably - my account was a mixture of food and local events/attractions. Writing and reading fanfiction is one of my hobbies 😀 12. Do you have any pets? I do, I have a corgi who I think is the cutest thing in the world. 13. How tall are you? 5’6” 14. Favourite subject in high school? History 15. Dream job? Working in some type of production role for TV or movies.
I haven't really been online much today so I'm not sure who has/hasn't been tagged so if you see this and want to do it then I tagged you!

just a few things (oops longer than i planned)
parents are very supportive of my mattress purchase. i stripped my bed to wash my sheets etc including the mattress pad i've been using for about a year now. i went in to talk to my mom and she was like, "that mattress is HORRIBLE. i had no idea." this is so funny bc truly it's like -- how do you know that your mattress sucks? it starts sucking gradually and unless you spend sufficient time on a different kind of mattress (which i have probably only done once or twice in the last two years), you have no frame of reference. i didn't realize the mattress itself was causing pain until i slipped my hand under my back, initially just to provide some support, and realized the springs digging into my back felt like a bunch of rocks wrapped in some thin padding. i am now wondering how much of the back pain i am frequently experiencing could be relieved just by getting a new mattress.
i am reading the circle by dave eggers. this is the first book i have picked up since the outlier (a few months ago, failed to finish; will return to it eventually). i got a kindle on black friday. thing is, i saw the movie adaptation of the circle before i realized it was based on a book. the movie is Not Great. and i am by no means a movie snob. it was confusing b/c by the end i realized the bones of the plot were really interesting but something about the execution threw it off (and the acting. we don't talk about emma watson. she is my beloved, but.) tom hanks couldn't even save it. THAT SAID, the book is great and i'm not at all put off by knowing the main bullet points of the plot, though i can't stop picturing one of the characters as karen gillan bc she was a great choice for the role, i fully hear the dialogue in her voice. i am 40% through it in less than two days!
on friday night, i came home from the holiday party socially exhausted and trying desperately to come down from this wave of overwhelm that i've been riding since, like, october. i wanted to turn my brain off. i planned to play euro truck simulator. but i could not find the actual usb connector for my controller. i looked everywhere. could not find it! i literally cried in frustration. then i remembered i have coloring pixels installed, which is a great color-by-number for pixel paintings. i haven't touched it in probably over a year, at least, but holy shit was it a great decision because i needed an actual break and it worked. turned brain off. actually felt relaxed. i have been looking for a way to unwind/decompress that does not necessarily involve tv or video games (though this technically is one). if you have not heard of it, it is free btw, with 99 cent themed packs for extra pages. also nice relaxing background music-in game. i highly recommend it!

Thanks for the tag @kulliare!
1. Were you named after anyone?
Nope! Not that I can think of. Though my url is named for the delicious bread I had all the time as a kid!
2. When was the last time you cried?
The exact date was May 30th lol. I remember it because me and my friends got together to watch the succession finale and when it got to the ending, (especially the music! Andante Risoluto gives me chills!) I teared up.
3. Do you have kids?
I don't! The idea of being a parent was never really my thing. But I'd always love to be a parent to some pets!
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Yes. When I'm around people I know, at least. Otherwise, I try not to use it.
5. What sports do you play/have you played?
Oh, this question is wasted on me lmao. I was the least sporty kid to exist, hated my phys ed classes and always made my team lose for everything. I have terrible balance and co-ordination skills so most sports are just not for me, but deep down I've always wanted to try out martial arts of some kind!
6. What's the first thing you notice about someone?
Hm...I'm a pretty self-conscious and socially anxious person, so I'd probably be busy panicking over what the other person thinks of me tbh 😭. Though something else I do notice is eye colour! Every kind of eye colour is so pretty!
7. Eye colour?
Brown
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
Ohoho I love a scary movie! Give me a scary movie any day! I have such a fondness for horror movies and books. I finally watched The Lighthouse (2019) today and I loved it!
9. Any special talents?
At one point, years ago, I knew the whole Gary Come Home song from Spongebob. But in German.
10. Where were you born?
A hospital.
11. What are your hobbies?
Reading and writing are my immediate go-to's! They are both things that I've found solace in from a young age and I love doing them so much. I've been reading some really wonderful work lately (I'm a big Carmen Maria Machado fan) and it's pretty neat. Apart from that my hobbies are probably boring lol. I also love watching movies and TV shows, listening to music, cross-stitching and making mini zines.
12. Do you have any pets?
2 dogs! Both of whom I love with my whole heart!
13. How tall are you?
5'3....on a good day
14. Favourite subject in school?
English! (Yes, I'm predictable). But I also really loved my music classes. Even if I can't listen to Mozart without picturing all my study notes in my head.
15. Dream job?
This is a tough one. Maybe this is a cop-out, but ideally something that just pays the bills and lets me make enough to live happily. My absolute dream job though would be becoming a published author of some sort? Though it's way out of my league and probably doesn't pay extremely well unless you're lucky lol 😭 I can barely stick to a posting schedule for my fanfic, nevermind writing a whole book!
I haven't been on tumblr long (embarassing) so I don't know lots of mutuals, but I'm tagging @citrusgothic, @surfledblues and @iamcalmiamthestorm, if you want to join in the ask game (no pressure tho!) x

End of year meme! Check out last year's version here!
1. Song of the year?
Måneskin - Honey! (Are U Coming?), although Fifteen's theme from Doctor Who has grasped me over the last few days. More music-specific stuff here!
2. Album of the year?
Strictly speaking the only full album I heard was Måneskin - Rush, and that had… some issues even though I love most of it, haha.
3. Favourite musical artist / group you started listening to this year?
Can we count the BG3 soundtrack as a new artist?
4. Movie of the year?
I rewatched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory last night and that was... it, so that, I guess!
5. TV show of the year?
I still haven't recovered from Good Omens season 2.
6. Episode of TV or webisode that defined the year for you?
Episode 2.06 of Good Omens, Doctor Who - all four specials.
7. Favourite actor of the year?
Honestly it's gotta be David Tennant. Like, between Good Omens and Doctor Who? Yeah. Neil Newbon comes in a very close second, though!
8. Game of the year?
It's a. It's actually a tie which is goddamn unheard of in a Zelda release year, but Baldur's Gate 3 genuinely nearly kicked Tears of the Kingdom aside??
9. Best month for you this year?
Oh man tricky. Do I say October because I went on my first actual proper holiday in eight and a half years? November for the Maneskin concert? Or do they lose points because I had COVID in late Oct/early Nov? Let's skip both and go with June (Vivid down in Sydney and the single greatest sorbet I've ever tried, a super fun VtM tabletop session, and got Operation YEETerus more or less confirmed)!
10. Something that made you cry this year?
Cried pretty much the whole way through the end of Tears of the Kingdom, does that count?
11. Something you want to do again next year?
Ooh I'd love to go back down to Sydney for Vivid!
12. Talk about a new friend you made this year
Shrug emoji. You're all cool.
13. How was your birthday this year?
Super chill. Ordered pizza and ate ice cream, and a few days earlier when my brother came up, we went to one of our favourite Lebanese restaurants.
14. Favourite book you read this year?
A top three - Hell Followed With Us, Space Opera, and Camp Damascus! You can check my book-specific stuff here!
15. What's a bad habit you picked up this year?
Not sure I picked any up? Still haven't ditched the finger-chewing, alas.
16. Post a picture from the beginning of the year
Tumblr media
A haul from Sydney in January. Hell Followed With Us and Legends and Lattes were bought new, as were most of the CDs. The other three books and the Sigur Ros CD were second-hand.
17. Post a picture from the end of the year
Tumblr media
Okay so on the cruise (late October, I'm gonna say it counts) each floor on the stairwell nearest our cabin had these like, sailing/ships/cruising-type collages, right? Golden Age of Sail, 50s cruising, all that stuff. Which is fine! Great! Except one of them was this!
For the love of god, why would you think an image of the Titanic sinking would be appropriate for a cruise ship?!
18. A memorable meal this year?
The hazelnut sorbet of the gods. Listen. Sydneysiders, listen, if Rivareno Gelato is doing the hazelnut that week you have to try it.
19. What're you excited about for next year?
Australian Literature Festival at Sea! Not until December, but it should be fun as hell!
20. What's something you learned this year?
I did a course on how to make an author site! I should. Do that.
21. What's something new about your place of residence (room, home, or general location) now vs the start of the year?
We started fixing up the old, kinda leaking upstairs bathroom! Gonna be moving back upstairs once it's done!
22. Favourite place you visited this year?
Eden in southern NSW, and Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary in Hobart <3 Both on the cruise. Eden was absolutely gorgeous and Bonorong had critters.
23. If you could send a message to yourself back on the first day of the year, what would it be?
You're gonna get COVID on the cruise. Yes, even wearing your mask and sanitising every five seconds. Bring decongestants because you'll also pick up sinusitis at the same time.
24. Did you keep any New Year's Resolutions?
Didn't make any :D
25. Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one
Probably the two main ones are my first two BG3 characters? A custom Tav, Ta'varin 'Tae' Arkenval, and my beloved Durge baby, Tavias. I'm probably most attached to Tavias, he is going through The Horrors while being the pureblooded child of the God of Murder and also just trying to be a nice person. Wish him luck as I enter act 3!

(Thank you!)
1) Were you named after anyone?
Our "aunt" wasn't exactly blood-related but I was named after her - turns out that it wasn't her actual name but a variation of it lol. 🙃
2) When was the last time you cried?
Hmm, yeah…yesterday. I felt like crap and haven't been able to sleep well because of our neighbors lighting up very much illegal fireworks.
3) Kids?
Hell no.
4) Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I only use sarcasm in a light-hearted conversation. I take things very seriously and sometimes a joke will fly over my head.
5) What's the first thing you notice about people?
IRL, I guess someone's eyes, if they look tired or worried. The way someone smiles is really special. Online, while I'm a grammar nerd I've become lenient with text. I still tease my brother about his typos tho hehe.
6) What's your eye color?
Hazel! Green one moment, gold the next. Magical.
7) Scary movies or happy endings?
Yeah, I can't handle scary movies. The last one I watched wasn't really scary but had a horrible ending and I cried for hours. I'm frightened very easily. I pretty much gave up movies and only watch anime that makes me laugh.
8) Any special talents?
I have a pretty deep voice for a woman hehe, so I voice-act for fun sometimes and make my brother laugh. My last project back in high school featured some original male characters and it was sooo damn fun! I also can sound (almost) like Pikachu and Mickey Mouse. I should probably get a mic someday...
9) Where were you born?
Washington state.
10) Hobbies?
I really wish I went back to my photography days. But it kinda fizzled out since I game so much. 😅 I still draw fanart when I can, I can't imagine my life without it. Does making Youtube playlists count? lol
11) Pets?
Had to say farewell to our last fish, a black skirt tetra. He was a bit of a bully to the others but he lived for YEARS. I also grew up with a German Shepherd and he was the sweetest boy ever! So yeah, currently no pets. I'd love to be a birb mom, but I definitely miss having a dog to cuddle with.
12) What sports do you play/have played?
I never took to sports well haha. I had to get a chiropractor's note just to have textbooks at home and be able to walk instead of run. I'd love to get into archery (non-hunting version) but don't think I have the arm strength for it. 🎯
13) How tall are you?
...5'3". I envy tall people.
14) Fave subject in school?
ART. My teachers had the biggest smiles on their faces when I showed them my assignments. I was even complimented with my old anime fanart at the time lol.
15) Dream job?
Working with animals would be really nice. I watch a lot of rescue youtube channels like Taki's Shelter, Liondad_1987, and Because We Matter Exotic Rescue. Also URURU TV! I adore foxes ❤
Tagging anyone who would like to do this! 🐥❤

Yeah, it's like fanfiction, ya know? A lot of writers tend to write their reader with a certain group of people in mind. And, well... yeah... i feel like i can go on and on about this topic for hours haha
Oh my gosh that is very nice of you fhsjfgshkfhsfhdskfghjs. I really don't know what else to say???? hfjskgfdsjfsh..... Okay, right, i just checked your guidelines again, and you can expect a request from me after i send this ask!
They used to be roommates???? What's with all these british people being roommates??? I think i also heard about andrew garfield and.. i can't remember who.. also used to be roommates. It's very cool though, to see how they became pretty well-known and all that. Sometimes i want my friends and i to be celebrities so we could be like "oh yeah, we used to go to high school together" and people are gonna freak out over that
Death is very cool indeed. But like, when i watched the episode they first appeared in, i cried. When she guided people, from the oldest to the youngest, it made me think about my own death. She was warm and nice and i just fhsjkfgdskjfk. I rarely cry when watching movies or tv shows, so the fact that it made me cry means that it's really something
Ooh i see!! It really seems like a very cute thing to have!! Although, i feel like the shipping will cost as much as (or even more than) the letter itself, and i'm not ready to spend that much money yet :'0 it's definitely on my wish list tho!
Alright, so uhh, a little life update: i am moving into another city for my studies! This isn't actually my first time. I was there for a while earlier this year, then came home for summer break, but now i have to go back there again and i'm very nervous. When i'm there, i can't sleep with silence, so i always have music or a podcast playing on my phone. So.... can you recommend me a nice podcast? Preferably something not horror, just something cool and fun that i can listen to to fall asleep? Or if you're not into podcasts, some music would be great, as long as it's on spotify!
-cain
I'm sorry for taking so long to reply ;-;;; school's starting tomorrow and I've been making preps and stuff and have kinda just been logging on here to write and then going back to work RIP
LMAO yes!! I think it was andrew and charlie cox I think?? all british people know each other, I'm telling you. that's why all their tv shows have like the same fifty actors in them (like rory from doctor who was in the bonus episode for the sandman just like clara as constantine) asfdaksjd but right?? I know someone who went to the same school as a minor celeb and it blew my mind because I used to write fan fiction about them when I was a kid
same!! the baby really broke me. just hearing the mom speaking to the baby after she'd just finished playing with them and coming back to find them... :(( I liked that her philosophy was just to be a friend because just like she feels alone taking them to the afterlife, they feel alone going to the afterlife. it's not as scary if you've got someone by your side. I like that depiction way more than death being scary and cold. gahhh I hope they greenlight a season two!! I wanna see more of them. did you see the bonus ep btw?
I feel you. maybe it could be a treat yourself gift eventually? a nice little surprise to cheer you up ^^
OH SWEET CONGRATS!! moving back must be so exciting. I hope you haven't already moved yet tho because then my response will be useless sadfskdfj but let's see... since you've got spotify, I've heard the batman unburied podcast is really good! their riddler is a fun character (more like classic riddler than dano!riddler). it's more of a thriller/crime and mystery podcast with batman as a detective role. I also like to listen to the OSP podcast (I sent you a playlist of their videos on writing tropes!). they usually discuss their videos of the week and have a lot of banter. if you watched them and liked them, you'll like the podcast. I also listen to the twilight effect podcast asfhaskf I'm not sure if you're a fan of twilight like me but it's hosted by alice's actress and her best friend.
as for music, I've got some diverse genres I listen to sdfskdfj but here's a playlist for eddie, the entire twilight saga soundtrack bc they've got some bangers, and I've recently been listening to the cranberries, hole, and some gothic music playlists lately. I don't know if you're into these genres but I've got 'em on repeat ^^
also random inclusion: her by megan thee stallion >:D
