You glance over at him to see him quietly—yet playfully—mocking you under his breath. Sometimes you’re convinced he spends too much time with Soap, but then you always remember in the back of your mind, he’s more-so playful around you than anyone else. You walk over and place it on the table next to Gaz, opening the latches and pushing the top open. You look into the box and blink rapidly when you don’t see any disposable gloves. You then pick up packages of gauze, the small plastic container holding the medical thread, you practically rearrange everything and yet, it seems they were not packed. “Fuck.” You curse under your breath. You let out a sigh as Gaz asks you, “Cinder? What’s wrong?”

You tear the velcro off of the wrist part of your glove and slip it off, repeating the process with your other glove. “Whoever packaged this medical kit didn’t add disposable gloves, and my gloves are dirty as hell.” You mumble, even slightly pouting about it. Gaz raises an eyebrow at your attitude, a smile pulling at the corner of his lips. You grab a bottle of antiseptic and you put your finger up as without looking at him, you already know he’s about to say something snarky. “Open your mouth again and I’ll use this tourniquet on your damn neck.”

Gaz bursts out laughing, causing you to roll your eyes and smile yourself. You pop open and cap and pour the antiseptic onto your hands, the extra liquid splattering against the floor and onto your boots. You set the bottle down and grab a needle and take out some thread. i’m sure most ppl expected this so i’m not gonna make a big deal out of it but!! yes i am going on hiatus for an unspecified amount of time.

it’s honestly quite simple, i’ve just been losing interest in most aspects of kpop aside from the music, which makes writing for it a lot harder than before. i also dealt with a lot of burn out for months and still forced myself to write which only made it worse. lastly, i’m an executive of two clubs at my school this year on top of all my classes, so finding time to write would be even worse than it was before :’) !

Egrettail had the patience of a saint for not beating the absolute shit out of Thrasher when they were in Defiance, and I'm certain she gave him what for on more than one occasion after Hush Puppy died.

Yes, she and Asphodelpaw may have had a conversation about similar realizations she was going through just like Cormorantpaw, heheh. We'll get there someday.

I was so excited to finally include Seven Silvers in an issue!! When I first created her character I wasn't planning on it, but she's just too fun not to use. Hell, I'm allowed to invent magic cat hormone therapy if I want to, who's gonna stop me. Seven, Hush Puppy, and Egret are any manner of close friends you like, and found family/siblings are as good a way as any.

The POVs from other characters are not going to be very common, since Pinepaw is the protagonist in the end, but it's always nice to dip back into Cormorantpaw's thick little skull. I was pretty pleased with myself for thinking of the rubberhose style joke with "lovebug", honestly. Don't worry about his angst, I'm sure it's nothing.

Good catch on everything with Daffodilpaw in this issue! It's something I did intentionally include, and did want to draw a comparison between Corm describing her as not really listening to him with Pinepaw always listening to what he says (which as you said, doesn't mean Daff is a bad person, just that she's got her own things to work out).

mhhhh "Sore Wings" is an important milestone and I look at it fondly because it was my first time writing smut. It's not terrible but I cringe a little when rereading it because I could have done better I hindsight...

Hey! Thank you for the request, it’s such a cute idea! I tried my best and I know it’s not exactly like the movie (Haven’t seen it in years but now I gotta watch it soon) but I hope you enjoy it!

Side note: Eddie never got held back in this one

Eddie has had a crush on Y/N since they were partnered up for science class their Sophomore year. It’s now their Senior year. And it’s not like Eddie isn’t persistent, he is, anywhere and any way he can be close to Y/N he is. Y/N claims to not be into him but Eddie calls bull. And now that it's their Senior year he is more determined than ever before. They graduate in a few months and he will get a date before graduation.

It was the night of the big game and usually, Eddie wouldn’t bother showing up to it but he knows Y/N was going to be there with her friends and he had a plan on how to get her to finally say yes to him.

The game wasn’t going so hot, they’re home team has never been very good and Y/N is hating herself for letting her friends convenience her to come at all. “Come on it’ll be fun,” they said “It’s the last game of our high school career it’s memorable,” they said. Well, they weren’t wrong, she will be remembering how awful it was to watch their team lose while sitting on an uncomfortable bleacher. It’s finally half time and Y/N is trying to figure out how she’s going to escape, but before she can she hears her name being called so loudly. Looking around she sees Eddie with a microphone in the middle of the field. What the hell is he doing??? That's the only thought that is crossing her mind. Well, that and This boy is crazy. “Y/N, This song is for you” Eddie calls out. Her eyebrows shot up. What did he just say? Before she can get down off the bleachers and to him to talk to him he starts to sing… and it’s her favorite song. This makes her melt just a bit. “How does Munson know what your favorite song is Y/N?” Her friend asks behind her but she can only focus on Eddie.

During the entire song, they never break eye contact. They both know that people are staring, telling Eddie to shut up and go sit down, but neither of them can bring themselves to care. Eddie's sole focus is Y/N and Y/N’s sole focus is Eddie. That is until they hear someone saying the cops have been called on Eddie for disrupting the game. Both of their eyes widen. Both of them know that Eddie can’t get caught, so Eddie does the only logical thing and he runs. No one in the entire school has ever seen Eddie Munson run that fast before but he couldn’t get caught. If he got caught then he knew Y/N wouldn’t agree to the date that he knew that she was going to agree to go out with him this weekend. He saw the look in her eyes. He finally got her to melt.

Y/N watched as Eddie ran, and with a soft laugh she knew two things. 1. He finally got her. And 2. Her friends were right, this was definitely memorable. She just wonders what kind of date they’ll have this weekend.
