im sure someone’s said it but i love when crowley and aziraphale blend and mix and become those shades of grey.

like obviously the famous switch in s1 gave aziraphale the freedom to go feral and he was fully gonna kill a kid that one time (and also prepared to let kids die in s2 but i will just believe that was just his faith in crowley).

but i love the subtler times. when they were raising adam, they switched roles in a way. you would expect aziraphale to take the nurturing nanny role and we see that crowley loves plants and is the only thing he has with him wherever he lives. but they chose to be the other.

i just love the influence they have on each other. crowley is so blatant with his influence across their history: pushing aziraphale to think critically and challenge his views. but aziraphale’s kindness and understanding allows crowley to be more open and vulnerable.

they have spent their whole existences pretending like they aren’t all the other has. but in reality, it is hard to see where one ends and the other begins.

5 Times Mike Got The Shovel Talk and 1 Time It Was Will

Post Byler get together and everyone finding out, Mike gets the expected shovel talk from Hopper. It actually goes surprisingly well, but it’s almost immediately followed by one from Jonathan which is 10x scarier. He does love Mike but he’s understandably still wary after the s4 of it all. Again, to be expected.

Then El is giving him what is easily the scariest talk of all, because she has enough first-hand experience to hit all his nerves. Lovingly, of course. But if he hurts her brother her powers will be involved, that’s not a threat it’s a promise.

Finally Mike relaxes a bit, it’s not like Joyce is the type to threaten her third son, so the family is finished. Then Lucas and Dustin are suddenly sitting him down and yeah ok, fair enough, it’s not like he hadn’t been protective when Max first joined. Though it is a little different considering they’ve known him for years but whatever. When they finish he jokingly asks if he should go get Will for his turn, and they just laugh. “As if, it’s Will. He’s not gonna hurt you.” Which is... true he guesses. Historically. Mostly. But then why did they need to talk to him? He knows he’s been a bit of a dick the last few years but he was going through some shit ok, he’d never intentionally hurt Will, not now. But maybe they don’t know that for sure, not like they do with Will.

A few days later Nancy knocks on his door when he’s hanging out with Will, and he grins, thinking it’s finally his boyfriend’s turn. But then she asks to talk to Mike. And she sits him down. And very cautiously reminds him that the Byers have been through a lot, more than the rest of them. And that can make things very messy if they don’t communicate. She tells him to be patient, kind, gentle. To Will. As if Mike hasn’t always been his most patient, kind, and gentle with him anyway.

And Mike knows she’s just trying to help, just trying to share her own similar experience dating a Byers boy, just trying to look out for both of them. But she sends him back with a smile, not even asking to talk to Will, and something in Mike breaks, just a little. Why do they think Will needs their protection? Except no, that’s not it, of course he does. But why do they think Mike doesn’t? Even though it’s Will who would never hurt him.

Except he has. Only a few times, and not without reason, but he has. The lies and miscommunication came from both ends. They were both dealing with their own horribly messy feelings, and they both got hurt in the process, even if the outcome was more than worth it. He knows he hides his feelings well, but surely not that well. Surely someone wants to make sure he’s looked after as well.

When Max barges into Will’s room as they lie on the bed together, he just sighs and gets up. He figured this was coming. “Not you Mike. I didn’t realise you were here, sorry,” she looks embarrassed. “I need to talk to Will.” “Is everything ok?” Will asks, looking confused. He and Max are definitely close, but it’s rare they hang out one-on-one. “No actually.” Max looks like she’s debating something, eyes flicking between them before she sighs, resigned. “It’s come to my attention that you are yet to get the shovel talk. So!” she claps, ushering him out the door. “Let’s move, I have some threatening to do.” Will scoffs but allows himself to be pulled away, looking only a little bit terrified. Which is understandable. It’s Max.

Max who turns to look back at Mike before she leaves, where he’s still frozen in shock. “What, Wheeler?” she narrows her eyes. Mike blinks rapidly, ignoring the tears that have suddenly appeared and clears his throat.  “Nothing, Mayfield,” he huffs. “I don’t need you to protect me. Especially not from Will.” The tears are still traitorously visible in his eyes. Max just looks at him for a long moment, then shakes her head. “No.” “No?” “No. I don’t care. Someone has to look out for you. Even if your boyfriend is so disgustingly in love with you I think he’d ruin himself if he ever messed up. But that’s not the point. Someone has to look out for the asshole.” she pauses, and smiles. “Someone has to look out for us.” Mike is stunned into silence again. Then he smiles back, just as soft. Before it turns into something wicked and Max groans. “You care about me!” Mike teases gleefully. “Yes I do you dick, repeat it to anyone and your dead.” She calls as she dramatically turns and storms out the room, flipping him off for good measure.

Mike just grins. She’s right, the assholes have to look out for each other. They need protecting too.

I like to headcannon that Celci constantly has to help the rest of the Invincible crew patch up their wounds, even if they don't ask for her help. It's some sort of,,,instinct for her.

Like Burt probably gets a bunch of scratches and mild cuts from working on the reactor. She takes out a few bandaids from her coat to pass to burt. Gunther would just, throw himself headfirst into any form of danger. And Celci will already be there with a first aid kit at hand because she KNOWS Gunther would try to act tough and not visit the medbay for his wounds. So she's angrily scolding Gunther for being reckless as she's bandaging his arm up like a mummy while Gunther is constantly like 'oh it's just a scratch' while obviously bleeding out

But the worst offender of them all: Mark. Its almost as if he built the ship with the intent of all the equipment designed to be as dangerous as possible. She has seen him accidentally break windows, get fired at by the ship's defense system and just get hurt by tripping over HIMSELF. And after fixing up his wounds for the 80th time, if Mark gets hurt ONE more time, she'll freaking KILL him.

But despite her annoyances towards her three main senior crew, why does she still bother to patch them up? Whether she likes to admit it or not, deep down, she loves her job and she loves her crew. I guess her love language is just, fixing it from the outside.

Often leaving heartbroken children behind, children born of the clearest rape. 

Or the story of the wife being forced out if the law laid down between husband and wife is broken. Foxes chased out by dogs, snakes unable to shed their skins to look like gorgeous human women. 

Can it still be the same, a man with the hide of a beast bond by the pretty words of his wife? Words that are first gossamer thread until they weigh down enough to become golden chains. Does he too struggle and bleed for the pelt under her covers?

Can a man be thrust out into the cold, wearing nothing more than fur or scale, because his wife dare do the forbidden? 

Or does the role of a man in this world we live in demand a different story entirely?

This has left my mind to quite a few interpretations. The one it likes the most is I like creating spontaneously! It gives restriction yet so much freedom. Random can absolutely have its regrets, it happens often, but it adds a little flare to it. I especially get burnt out easily, so doing the moment I feel is best for my ideas!

im tired of ppl using headcanon stuff as proofs on the show. ''mike never stopped calling will.'' yeah no, that is not canon at all, lmao. you guys just took dustin's words and used it as some sort of a canon thing to prove that mike called. c'mon guys... canonically it doesnt make much sense anyways bc it doesnt fit. because mike learned abt joyce's job at the beginning of the season after el sent her letter. unless the duffers just made a mistake and screwed the time, it doesn't make any sense for mike to have called will constantly or 'complaining' due to joyce's job when he just learned abt joyce's job at the beginning of the season after reading el's letters. for all we know mike didnt send any letters to will, and they just only talked for a couple of times. like. that's the canon. we cannot just take something and treat it as canon and come up with criticism based on that. same as the 'lettergate' situation, for all we know mike just didnt bother writing and he didnt have a present. also u cannot really blame will either. for all he knew, the situation was just a repeat of S3. and we know what happened in S3. just a casual 'what if u wanna join another party' doesn't fix the issue at hand, and it literally didnt either. so.

okay, yes, this is what i was saying in the tags of this and what this post i reblogged earlier is about!!! you can't just say "mike 100% called and we don't even know if will called so will is equally to blame for the fact that they didn't keep in touch/for their rink o mania fight". i mean you can but i'll disagree every time because there's this little thing that happened between them that never got resolved that totally explains why will would be hesitant to reach out...who out of the two of them was rebuffed the last time he tried to show that this friendship was important to him? who was crying in the rain and calling himself stupid over it? as a very wise woman once said, i would've wanted mike to make a little bit of an effort too after that tf

HARDDD AGREEE re: ur tags abt james in the sh2 remake!!!!!!!!! ive been feeling so weird abt this remake from the beginning but like. seeing him emote so much in such a like. big bad way is. bizarre. i Love how subdued his emotions are in the og it’s chilling and literally doesn’t make the ending feel like some kind of twist, just a sad inevitability. ur right and u should say it!!!!!

I have a Lot of feelings about James Sunderland lol, to the point I’ve considered writing several fandom essay posts about him and Silent Hill 2 as a whole XD.

Fr tho, I didn’t want the Remake anyway, but I love Silent Hill, and if I watched Revelations I figured I would at least give SH2-R a chance. I don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed. Changing James’ character like this makes him fundamentally a new person, and in turn I just don’t see how several story beats will work. The narrative of the game is such a slow, insidious build and at no point do we (nor are we supposed to) doubt James and his story. The whole point is James is desperately clinging onto the idea that Mary might be there to meet him, and with the supernatural goings on, the player is on his side cuz who knows! There’s monsters and stuff, maybe poor dead Mary really is there, too! James himself is as doubtful as he is hopeful! The story is one big retelling of Orpheus and Eurydice, and the fact that James goes through everything he does out of the love he has for his wife is what makes the story work. The trailer removes all doubt about James’ guilt, a guilt that we didn’t know James bore until the scene at Lakeview. I dunno about anyone else, but that’s when my view of James drastically shifted, and again, depending on the ending you get, James still isn’t necessarily a ‘monster’. He’s a guy who, in his own words, is punishing himself for the worst thing he has ever done. Like you said, there’s not actually a ‘twist’ in SH2, the revelation in room 312 is just a deeply sad inevitability.

Something about the trailer makes it incredibly obvious that James is Guilty with a capital ‘Oh yeah, this guy totally Did It’ and I have to wonder at this point how anyone could have played through OG and thought this was a change that benefitted anyone in anyway. Removing James’ heavy dissociation and derealisation also removes that ~dreaminess~ of SH2, which is what makes the game so unique. Making him scream and shout and break down just turns this into any other horror, and I don’t have much hope for the pay-off.

But I’m a curious fucker, so I’ll watch someone on Youtube play it for me instead of paying £50+ lol
