How I would re-write Supergirl Season 2/3

(as some one who stopped watching after season three, and also has not rewatched the series since 2020) (reign arc and heroes of the week will remain unchanged)

So, starting off strong, at Alex and Maggie would not have gotten engaged. Season 2 finale would have been Maggie realizing she was rushing into things, Alex being all "no I love you, I know I do" and Maggie being like "there is a whole gay world for you to explore... go do it." This would lead to sadness, a bit of tears (Chyler and Floriana would be AMAZING- daytime emmy nominee worthy performance).

Rhea would reveal Kara's identity to Lena in the finale. It would be casual too, she would be like "you are much better for my son Lena, that kryptonian isn't worth her weight in dirt here. I can't believe he would settle for a lowly slave." And then Lena would be all "reporter" and Rhea would be like "Yes Kara Danver's, former slave to a, Cat Grant I believe her name is" and then Rhea would continue on her spiel and there would be a cut scene as the camera focuses on Lena taking in the information

They save the day- Monel leaves for what ever reason he had to leave- don't remember, don't care. Also, Kara and Mon-el would have never dated, he would have just pined for her and James and Winn would be all "join the club"

Season 3

Alex mourned over her first lesbian relationship over the 6 month gap between seasons, Lena hasn't told Kara she knows.

First DEO scene of Season 3 is Alex talking to Kara (and invertedly Winn and James) about her most recent date on an app. It went bad, Winn chimes in like "what was it this time" and Alex is like "she was weirdly into ___" then J'onn walks in, like "Alex I am sorry to interrupt but there are pressing matter to attend to- there is a meta human down town" (que hero of the week intro)

Lena and Kara hang out, audience find out that Lena hasn't told Kara cause Kara has to leave to deal with a alien and does the usual "uh, I hear my named being called, ugh bye" and Lena just smiles and nodds, and sighs wistfully, staring after her (supercorp shippers go crazy)

Ep 2 or three we first see Sam and Ruby in line for Noonan's or something (why did they establish that as a brand, just to immediately ditch it after season 1???) and it's just a cute simple little "Hi, I'm Alex, let me help you out" but Sam is endeared and Ruby just smiles because (I love Ruby but honestly) she didn't have that much of a personality early on in the season

That same ep we see Lena reuniting with Sam. After that, when ever Sam and Lena meet each other (I don't remember when or how) Kara and Lena are like "you two know each other" and Alex is all blushy like "yeah, Kinda, I mean, not really" and Sam is like "yeah, Lena she is the girl from the place". Sam and Lena share a look (agent reign shippers go crazy)

Sprinkles of supercorp here and there- Just Kara and Lena doing their normal friend shit but Kara being like "woah, I am feeling things maybe"

At ep 8 or so Kara is at the bar with Alex and ask her how she knew with Maggie, that she liked Maggie. And Alex is all "well, I guess I always knew I liked girls but it was always objective. Like, I would think, she is so kind and smart and beautiful and amazing, any guy would be lucky to have her. But something about Maggie just forced me to realize that I was the one feeling these things, not some guy. I don't know, something about her just made alot of things clearer. Like, I realized I was the one driving the car, not a passenger. She made me stop being so passive in my own life" and Kara is quiet the whole time. Alex then ask "why" and Kara is all "no reason". Cut to Lena at L-Corp working on something relevant to the plot (supercorp shippers go crazy) (that conversation inspires Alex to ask Sam out- they then start to date)

Next ep, Kara goes to Lena's office, and is all, "there is something I need to tell you" and Lena is all "I already know" and Kara is shocked an all "how do you know" and Lena is like "in hindsight it was obvious. *list of things that hold double meanings cause miscommunication trope*" "Lee- I would have told you earlier but I-" "It's fine, I get it. You were doing it to protect me" "protect you???" "yeah- you're supergirl". Que Kara sighing and then freaking out, Lena saying Rhea told her, Kara being pulled away by some kind of supe situation, and Lena being all "go get them supergirl"

Kara admits her feelings at the end of the episode. Lena is shocked, but agrees. They agree to go on a date, a real romantic date and not a friend one, but oops- it's ep 9 which means Kara fights reign, goes comatose and then we get angsty, driven lena being like "we gotta fix Kara"

From then on, the show goes like usual, but Alex and Sam are dating and Kara and Lena are as well. The show ends with Season 3, Alex leads Deo, Winn stays but James leaves to help in the future but it really doesn't matter because the show it over. Supercorp is canon, Alex and Sam have a daughter and everyone lives happily ever after.

Edit: forgot to say this orginally but more Cat cameos. I love that woman so much- she has to come back at least twice in season 3 and be like "I leave the city for five minutes and you let her do WHAT? Agent Scully, why on EARTH would you let your sister fight a world killer??? Have you no brains under that thick skull" or something. I just want for her to be there, see Kara and Lena together and pull out of peice of paper from her purse that says "gay" and be like "I knew when you first walked into my office. No straight women would willingly be yelled at that often" or something. Idk, she was just very deeply missed

17. “Watch your step.”

Chyler woke up to an empty bed and a light on in the kitchen.

Tom must be back. Chyler stood up and exited the bedroom, carefully dodging the robovac. “Tom?”

“In here,” Tom called from the tiny kitchen.

“Hey.” Chyler greeted her still-uniformed husband with a hug from behind.

“Hi,” Tom said in between bites of cheese. “Sorry I’m so late.”

Chyler flattened her cheek against his back. “Well, you’re going for the cheese, not the whiskey, so it couldn’t have been that bad.”

Tom humphed. “Wasn’t bad, just long.” He turned around to return Chyler’s hug.

The robovac trundled into the kitchen and bumped against a cabinet twice before continuing its lap around the room’s perimeter.

“I ever tell you how much those creep me out?” Tom asked as the vacuum crossed into the living area.

“Oh, please,” Chyler sighed.

“I’m telling you, it’s spying on us.”

“You know those things have been around for centuries.”

“Centuries of data collection,” Tom said conspiratorially.

“With which they have done absolutely nothing,” Chyler countered. “Not very good spies.”

The vacuum rolled along the edge of the couch.

“That’s what they want us to think,” Tom said.

“Do you want to vacuum your own rug?” Chyler asked pointedly.

“Not really.”

Chyler laughed and stood on tiptoe to kiss her husband’s cheek. “Well, if the robovac is a spy maybe we should go where it can’t see us.”

“Hm, good idea,” Tom yawned. “You go ahead. Let me put all this away.”

“Tom Lasky, putting things away?” Chyler asked with mock astonishment.

“Quiet,” Tom grumbled, but he was smiling.

Chyler smiled back and headed to the bedroom. She grabbed her compad on the way to the bed and started to look for new messages before thinking better of it. Roland would alert her and Tom to something urgent. Everything else could wait—

A thud and holler from the living area interrupted Chyler’s train of thought.

“Tom!” Chyler leapt off the bed and threw the door open. Tom was sprawled on the floor clutching his right foot, the Robovac slinking away like a kid trying to avoid Mom and Dad’s wrath.

“Watch your step!” Chyler exclaimed unthinkingly.

“A little late for that, don’t you think?” Tom gritted.

“What happened?!”

“What’s it look like happened?” Tom groaned.

“Is it broken?” Chyler bent over and tried to examine Tom’s foot.

“How should I know?” Tom dropped his head onto the floor. “Ah, hurts like a you-know-what.”

“I’ll, uh,” Chyler bit her lip. “I’ll pick you up.”

“I don’t think that’s happening, babe,” Tom said between hisses.

“I’ll call medical.” Chyler started back to the room for her compad.

“No need, Commander Silva.” Roland’s voice broke into the chaos. “I’ve already summoned medical attention. ETA five minutes.”

“Good.” Chyler nodded at the ceiling.

The robovac began dutifully edging around Tom’s side.

“Roland, turn this damn thing off!” Tom snapped.

“Right away, Captain.”

Chyler watched the vacuum return to its stand, then looked back to Tom. “How’s the—”

The vacuum began emptying its bin.

“How’s the foot?” Chyler asked once the noise subsided.

Tom lifted his head to glare at the robovac. “Told you that thing was bad news,” he panted.

The machine emitted a beep, almost as if in protest.

I've never seen her before but YES OMG! She's perfect, really! Image below the cut for folks who don't want their image of Doc changed by who I picture (which isn't the right answer for how Doc looks btw, she's meant to be however you see her, be it yourself or someone else entirely!)

Yeah this is 110% Doc on outbreak day and when Joel shows up in the QZ. Only change I really have for her is that I always picture Doc with just an absolutely insane amount of curly hair. Just piles of curls that go a little everywhere unless she actively tames them.

Another face claim for Doc folks have shared with me is Chyler Leigh and I love her, too!!

Some else I love for Doc is Gugu Mbatha-Raw. She's so beautiful and so talented and I think just has the vibe ❤️

Face claims are so fun! I love using the you format for writing and leaving things open for people to develop their own appearance for a character (be it themselves or someone else) but I do love finding ways to visualize characters.

15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you?

Holy cow. So many. The third and fourth chapters of my Fred/Kelly college AU story, the startings of my Halo/DnD crossover, a story idea I've been working over on and off for the Artemis Fowl fandom... I don't even know how to list them all, but those are the big ones.

29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?

I wrote this down for a York-centric RvB story and really loved it, but I haven't found the place to use it. I try hard not to swear - especially in my writing - which is the biggest part of why I haven't found somewhere to shoe-horn this into. But here's the line.

"That was where it all started. Not the straw that broke the camel’s back... just the straw that made the camel start to wonder what the hell anyone needed so much straw for."

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

Definitely rekindling how much I like Tom and Chyler's romance (which is entirely your fault, but whatever). I always loved those two, but never actually took the step to try to write something for them. Now that I have, my mind won't shut up with ideas for them here and there.

Since I've decided not to watch anymore seasons of Grey's. I want to take this time to talk about stuff I probably have no business talking about because I didn't watch the actual episodes. 😅

This is gonna be very out of order.

☆: As much as I like Bailey, Alex should have the board chair. Cristina left it for him and Richard shouldn't even be allowed to Nominate anyone. He's not even on the board.

☆: Maggie and Jackson dating each other is gross. People keep saying it fine cause they didn't grow up together. I don't care. Them being attracted to each other while their parents are dating/married is disgusting. Like that's literally your legal sibling.

☆: if I watched season 14, Casey Parker would have been a favorite character. I’ve only seen clips on him and top tier, him and Cristina and maybe Alex would have been so powerfully unhinged. Lol

☆: Idk the relationship with Maggie and Meredith but I think Maggie expecting Meredith to tell her everything about her life is a bit much, like it’s so much and she just met you. So obviously she’s not gonna be like here’s my life story. Idk what’s going on with Alex but you can’t fault Meredith for trusting him over Maggie she’s known the dude for like ten years…

☆: Maggie 100 percent should waited to be on better terms with Meredith before dropping the “we share a mom” bomb.

☆: I'm so confused on the Maggie and Jackson getting married thing. Because how would that have worked. Husband and wife while also being step-siblings. 🤮

☆: People keep bringing up Lexie whenever they see Maggie and calling her a lexie replacement. Listen one, Chyler Leigh wanted to be killed off the show, she and Maggie could have been friends or whatever. Stop trying to compare the them. Two, greys anatomy had Maggie planned since day one, albeit more so as a brother.

☆: I would have lowkey loved if Maggie was a brother instead of a sister. I just think would have been interesting. Probably something like

Meredith:"I've never had a brother before"

Derek or someone "what are you talking about? Isn't Alex kind of like having a brother?"

Then a cute scene of Alex and Meredith being like siblings. Idk

☆: the Nathan drama of season 13 is wild, after all that drama that happened when Meredith first met Derek. I can't even imagine her seeing someone know her sister Maggie liked and was actively going on dates with. [Tbh i have no idea if there were dates but the clip made it sound like that.] Nathan is trash for not telling Maggie he liked Meredith.

☆: I just saw Meredith and Jackson goodbye, and I actually like them. I remember when izzie came back to work after the merge and Alex, Cristina, Meredith and Jackson were all eating lunch together, and he said something and one of them was like "who invited you here?" And Meredith was all like "I did." That shit was cute. I wish season 10 and lower had more scenes of them being friends.

☆: I don't like Maggie and Jackson, but emotional cheating is still cheating.. it's exactly like what april was doing to Matthew..

☆: not Stephanie trying to blame the harassment complaints on Leah, like she wasn't one of the reasons Leah did it in the first place. Don't crap where you eat? (This is from the episode where Leah returns, I saw a clip on youtube.)

□: While writing this I'm low-key thinking about going back to binge the show for Alex, but he's goodbye is so bad, and I hate him and Izzie so much. I refuse 😤 also I heard Callie character development suffers a lot 😭

☆: Why would they have Callie keep dating the woman who killed her friend? Hate that (I watched the dinner scene on YouTube)

If I see anymore scenes that I'm like oof to, I'll make a part two

One of the things I love so much about The Way Home is they do not let the other characters stay in the dark for too long about each other's secrets. The reveal of Kat and Alice knowing each other time have been timetraveling was great and we're only six episodes in. Now if we can find out what happened to Jacob that would be fucking great because Kat delivered him home and Jacob went inside and shut the door but that's all we see. The sheer panic on Kat's face when she returns to the future and sees that nothing has changed and Elliot was right about Jacob still being gone 💔....Chyler takes this episode she was acting her butt off!

Chyler allowing herself to make a mistake in front of Tom from the vulnerability prompts? I feel like she's a big time perfectionist.

Also just gonna throw this out there, but "begging them to stay" sounds like it has great potential for some angsty injury feels with a Spartan pairing like John/Cortana or Fred/Kelly.

“Tom? You—hold on.”

Tom sat with a bemused smile as the video feed in front of him shook and jumped to the soundtrack of a small child’s squawking. He’d finally managed to secure a real-time video call to his family on Luna, and for the first time in months he could watch the chaos unfold without a time delay.

“OK.” Chyler set her device on the counter. “You there?” She leaned down into the shot.

“I am.” Tom raised the volume on his headset and made sure the noise canceling function was on. Even so, it was hard to block out the constant drone of Flying Fortress’s engines and the other conversations going on around him in the room colloquially dubbed “the phone booth.” “Should I ask how things are going on the home front?”

“It’s—Kate! What is that? Oh, just Teddy. OK. Yeah, we’re good.” Chyler answered.

“Sounds it,” Tom observed dryly.

“Kate! Honey!” Chyler picked up the tablet and started walking across the tiny apartment. “Want to say hi to Dada?”

The camera display flipped around and Tom saw his daughter sitting on the floor playing with a brown teddy bear. “Princess Kate!” He greeted.

“It’s Dada!” Chyler said.

“Dada!” The two-and-a-half-year-old dropped the toy crawled toward the screen. Her dark curls flopped over her eyes.

Tom ducked his face out of view. “Now, where’s that adorable Kate?” He sat up and feigned surprise. “Kate!” He placed his hand in front of the camera. “No Kate!” He moved his hand away. “Kate!” He covered the lens again. “No Kate!”

The little girl giggled and squealed at the familiar game. Well, familiar to Tom. He wondered if Kate even remembered the last time they’d played.

She’s so much bigger than she was then.

She looks so much like her mom.

“You’re not causing any trouble for Mumma, are you?” Tom asked, trying to take his mind off the gnawing sensation in his chest.

“Not for me, but the teachers at Launch Pad tell me she’s a little escape artist,” Chyler reported as Kate reached out to the screen. “You know I went to pick her up yesterday and found her running up and down the hall?”

Tom’s jaw dropped. “What?”

“She must have slipped out while they were changing shifts,” Chyler jerked the tablet away. “Kate, stop.”

“I hope you had words with them.” Tom frowned.

“Tom, she’s fine.” The feed jumped as Chyler stood. “They have those tags for a reason. If she’d managed to get out of the building somehow it would have tripped the alarm.”

“Why doesn’t that make me feel better?” Tom sighed.

“Because you’re paranoid.” 

Tom scowled. “Daddy instinct, all right?”

Kate stood up and batted the display again. 

“Kate, don’t—don’t hit the End button!” Chyler jerked the tablet away.

“Dada!” Kate called.

“Hi, baby,” Tom chuckled as Chyler held the screen out of Kate’s reach. “Dada loves you.”

“Say ‘I love you’?” Chyler prompted.

“Ah ya yoo!” Kate responded, her tiny arms wrapping around her mother’s legs.

“Oh, I love you, Katie Bug.” Tom bit his tongue. He missed her so much. “Dada’s gonna see you next week, OK?”

“I can’t wait for you to get back,” Chyler said wearily. 

“I can’t wait to be back.” Tom watched Kate toddle back to her toys. “Kate probably thinks her dad lives in a computer screen.”

“She does not,” Chyler assured.

“And I’m starting to get claustrophobic in this tin can,” Tom added. “I’m ready to breathe air that isn’t recycled. And not have metal dust all over me. And see a color besides gray.”

“The last couple weeks is always the worst.” Chyler turned the camera to face herself and sat on the couch. “We’ve both been down this road.”

“I know, I know.” Tom rested his chin on his hand and took in his wife’s face. “I ever tell you you’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen?”

“That’s your deployment goggles talking,” Chyler said with a poorly concealed smile.

“Learn to take a compliment, hon.”

“I—oh!” A crash interrupted whatever Chyler was going to say. 

“Chyler?!” Tom sat up straighter in alarm as the tablet clattered to the floor.

“Shit!” Chyler exclaimed. “Kate!”

“Chyler!” Tom called loudly enough to draw some glances from the phone booth’s other occupants.

“I’m fine. Everything’s fine.” Chyler made a grunt of frustration. “You didn’t hear that, Kate.” Chyler picked up the tablet and pushed her hair off her face. “She knocked over that toy kitchen from your mum. I was afraid—”

“Shit!”

Tom’s jaw dropped. Chyler’s gaze shifted past the tablet.

“Shit!” Kate repeated the word with a toddler’s pride.

“Kate, remember, you didn’t hear Mumma say that,” Chyler said without looking at her husband.

Tom’s “Looks like she did” rebuttal got lost in laughter.

“Tom, stop laughing,” Chyler ordered.

Tom just shook his head. He was surely drawing even more attention to himself now.

“This isn’t funny,” Chyler continued.

“Yes, it is,” Tom managed to wheeze.

“Shit!” Kate hollered again.

“Kate, stop it,” Chyler admonished uselessly.

“Don’t give an order—” Tom had to stop and gather himself. “Don’t give an order you know won’t be obeyed.”

“What’s up with Lasky?” Tom heard someone ask behind him.

Tom wiped his eyes. “And you were always afraid she’d hear it from me.”

Chyler glared into the camera. “You’d better not tell any of your buddies about this.”

“There’s—” Tom looked around the room. “Eight other people in here! It’s too late!”

“You know what? You can stay in that tin can,” Chyler said. “And I hope you choke on metal dust.”

If he choked on metal dust now, at least he’d go happy. “Love you!” Tom grinned and waved at his bride.

Chyler ended the call, but not before Kate got the last four-letter word.

A Super Con Adventure

Chapter 1: Unveiling the Surprise

Why are they your favourite Grey's ships and characters?

Slexie - i am real gulity for loving a ship where the guy is a bit of dickhead/player but as soon as they find the person they love, they are the sweetest person ever. I think Slexie fell into this for me. Chyler and Eric had such amazing chemistry - even when they weren't a couple they were on fire.

Jolex - i felt they were a perfect match for one another - still are. They both have traumatic pasts and understand one another to a degree that no one else could. I hate how they ended

Merluca - the chemistry between these two is what really sold me. Meredith really needed someone that supported her and loved her 100 percent at that time and i think Andrew was able to provide that for her. He gave her another perspective on what love/relationships are meant to look like.

Calzona - they started out so great but ended so badly! Once again sold by chemistry. They had some great storylines together. Loved the Callie/Arizona/Mark storylines

Japril - honestly wasn't sold on them at the beginning but grew to love them. I am so happy they have found their way back to one another. The scene where Jackson is at Aprils bedside after the car accident and is sobbing is one of the most heartbreaking scenes in Greys history

Amelink - finally someone that was a match for Amelia. I am so annoyed they wrote this marriage storyline into their relationship as i didn't think it was needed. The way they came together after they found out about Scout was amazing.

Characters

Meredith - i mean she is the main character, you kind of have to like her. The amount of bullshit this woman has been through she has come out on top. She has shown strength and resilience like no one else.

Lexie - just a good soul. I loved her and merediths relationship. i loved her personality. she would have been such a kickass surgeon

Arizona - so much light with Arizona. She was so pure and loving.

Jo - she has been through so much and has always been so good. watching her from intern to badass surgeon is amazing.

Alex - i mean talk about the best character growth on the whole show (we ignore how he left the show). i

George - a pure soul who left the show to soon. i would have loved to see where he went. what kind of surgeon he became.

Cristina - i mean how could you not love Cristina. This woman is so intelligent and doesn't let anyone stand in her way and i love that about her. She has so many badass moments

I legit cried when Lexi died. She was my favorite by far. She was one of only two character deaths i cried for in my entire life. Im still super salty about that. (She was also part of my gay awakening but thats a while different story)

Lexie was so great! I cried when she died too, it was so sad. And I love Chyler so much, I was so happy when she ended up playing Alex on Supergirl and how much that role ended up meaning to her and everyone.
