When I write fanfiction I tend to justify every narrative or characters' choices I make because I want people to understand my choices as a writer, but I think this is not the best way to write a story so I need to improve that.
Or maybe MAYBE it's just because I'm traumatized by SPN writers who leave things open to interpretation, who knows?
you ever just have a lot, a LOT of feelings all at once about a character and not even remotely enough words or brainpower to FORM the words to describe everything you're feeling. so it feels like you may explode. yeah
Listen, the greatest appeal of Diluven is how desperately chained Diluc is to his past, to his personal losses, to the expectations of his father's legacy, because Venti is the god of liberation, of hope, the breaker of chains, the capricious breeze that ever uplifts--it's about letting yourself be set free, listen--
okay the junk follower spam is officially over ( over 7k... what the fuck....) and I'm gonna start clearing it out so
📢 A REMINDER
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, CHANGE YOUR ICON AND BLOG TITLE/HEADER TO ANYTHING THAT ISN'T THE DEFAULT
EVERYONE WITH A DEFAULT ICON AND HEADER IS BEING BLOCKED AND REPORTED SPAM
i respect your right to lurk silently but tumblr has an ongoing problem with b*t accounts, you can literally change your icon to a meme and your header to "not a bot lol", don't care, it just has to Not Be Default. or a real picture of a woman, actually, don't do that either. if blogs keep blocking you, that's why! if you don't know How to change those... try " google.com "
my boy only breaks his favorite toys hurts more as a marvey-coded song because. what if i said that when harvey was playing pretend with mike that they could pull off the fraud. that was probably when he was happiest. when i explain that mike took harvey out of his box and stole harvey's tortured heart and left all of harvey's broken parts and told him he's better off. what then!
Hey mio, I've had a bit of interest in making my own utauloid (with no experience even using utauloids lol) and haven't had much luck finding any good sources, how did you learn to make and use utauloids?
So!! To make a long story very short, I basically had a friend who had gotten into UTAU a little before me and convinced me to record my own library so our characters could sing together.
The thought having awoken something in me, I became so physically fueled by the desire to make it happen that I ended up shoddily piecing together how to download and use the program via trial and error, brute force, a number of crunchy 360p YouTube videos, and plenty of UtaForum threads written by people who were sometimes only barely less confused than I was. It was a very long and messy process that basically came down to "I started on step five and now I'm just frantically researching random steps until I assemble some semblance of a workable staircase."
Not the smoothest process, I'll admit.
But thankfully, the year is no longer 2010, the UTAU community is alive and well, and there are now many, many more English resources available for learning how to rassle this piece of freeware that predates the original launch of Homestuck.
And seeing as I would not be here had it not been for the brute-force efforts of users before me, please allow me this opportunity to slap down so, so many resources for you to check out.
You can find my in-depth UTAU resources doc here, which includes, among other things:
What is UTAU?
How to download and use the program
Making your own UTAU library
Resources for making your own UTAU covers
How to package your UTAU for release
And a number of fun links for things like making your UTAU growl or creating animated PVs to go alongside your covers w.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to shoot them my way! I'll do my best to answer them, or at least direct you to someone who can. Also, if you're an UTAU user and have something to add, let me know and I'll add it to the doc!!
“Yeah, man. The truth of Coachella, isn't it? Second week. Music fans! People who appreciate music! Sounds good to me.”
Blur performing a cheeky, almost shambolic version of Song 2 at Coachella, during the second weekend of performances, 20 April 2024. Damon commented on how the crowd seemed a little better this weekend, compared to the previous week where he'd complained about the dead crowd, saying 'you're never going to fucking see us again, you may as well sing along.'
This week, he noted the oft-repeated myth about how the first weekend of Coachella gets the influencer crowd, the second week tends to get the music fans.
He seemed kind of bashful throughout the performances of both Girls and Boys and Song 2, before slightly settling into a more serious performance on The Narcissist and set closer Tender.
A friend of mine to whom I showed the Girls And Boys performance said they looked unrehearsed, it sounded a mix between that and arsing around, but when they (and in particular Damon) did pull it together, they sounded fantastic. That almost-growl on Song 2 was not something I expected Damon to be able to pull off, but it sounded gorgeous, powerful, rock n roll.
They can't end it like this. One of two: we need the Wembley show mixed, mastered and pro-shot (I have heard whispers that this is in fact in the works), and/or we need a last tour to stops that actually care about Blur the musicians. Not the influencers, but fans. Fuck, I don't even think North American fans are going to get this one. Throw us under the bus. I'd even be happy if they did one last triumphant run back in England (I'm seeing Pulp this fall, so I win anyway).
Oh, and don't forget to keep everything civil! This is just a little game for fun, and we're all here to have a good time :D
