You don't chase a rogue spectre across the galaxy for several months to save intelligent life from the apocalypse without realizing a few things about yourself along the way.
I tried to experiment with my style with this comic. Please forgive the sketchiness. I'm trying to make less important comics faster.

So you know how each Shatterverse has some sign or piece of Green Hill?
But the one iconic and particular sign is the Palm Tree 🌴
This tree matters a lot to Sonic's friends (and now to him). It's the place of good memories and good times, of friendship. It holds a deep meaning.
Each Shatterverse should have one as it's an important theme for the series;
Ghost Hill probably has that tree at the same spot as Green Hill
In New Yoke, the Resistance has it safe and hidden away, symbolizing a hope, a purpose. A reason to fight for, a reason to keep going.
In Boscage Maze, it's at the heart of the jungle. Dubbed as The Great Green. It also holds a meaning, it symbolizes life and harmony and hope.
As for No Place, we saw a few palm trees at the beginning of the No Place episode. The little piece of land Sonic had fallen near. Maybe one of those happens to parallel the Palm Tree in Green Hill. Looking closely, there's this palm tree that has been very persistent in the background when Sonic met Batten, Black Rose and Sails. This is also the one Sonic hung on to look out at the sea
....
But the Grim is silent and empty, no sign of life, no sign of anybody. Going by the light color theory, it's incomplete, time passing there the slowest to the point that nothing in there has been formed yet.
But it is currently serving as a clean slate for Nine, to build it as he wants. The Grim should also have a piece of that crucial symbol.
This is The Grim's equal of the Palm Tree:
"Don't you wanna go home? Blue skies, sunny beaches? Palm trees?"
What do they represent? Hope? Despair? Friendship? Home? Duality?
These trees belong to Nine, he created them for Sonic. They are a gift and they mean just as much to him as the Palm Tree meant to Sonic's friends, as it means to Sonic now, also a gift.

I posted the fic I bound for the Renegade exchange, and now I get to post about the books (s!! plural!) I received from my gifter, @gargoyleandgremlinpress.
The first surprise came when I opened the package and there were TWO books inside! An embarrassment of riches! Fitting it came a few days after my birthday.
The first one I unwrapped (yes, they were wrapped in beautiful paper. I did not wrap the book I sent, but I suppose, in my defense, I did make a cloth zipper pouch for it.) and was ecstatic to see that it was a copy of Strike Anywhere by @madlori.
This is a fantastic and 🔥🔥🔥 Schitt’s Creek firefighter AU fic. I highly recommend. One of the reasons I put it on my wishlist is because it lent itself to so many cool graphics. And my gifter clearly felt the same way. LOOK AT THIS.
Are you kidding me?!? The cover is stunning. And did you see the speckled edges? And the chapter headers! The dividers! It’s just perfect. Those endpapers! R.I.P. me.
But that wasn’t all! Because I am an egomaniac, I also listed one of my own fics, a Schitt’s Creek Bridget Jones’s Diary AU. (You know what is cute? My author’s note talks about how proud I was to finally write a long fic. Friends, it’s 17k.)
This one was made into the most adorable quarto, and again, the design is perfectly matched to the fic.
Are you dead yet? Because I am.
This is is the first time I've seen sewn endbands in person and I am determined now to learn how to make them.
It was so fun to participate in this exchange, and boy, did I get lucky! (Also, funny aside, my gifter has actually seen something I bound in person, as I’d sent a bound copy of a fic to one of their IRL friends! What a small world, eh?!)
Thank you again to @gargoyleandgremlinpress for the gorgeous books!

so if you haven't seen my insane ao3 brainrot... i am so sorry but i have even more brainrot and I've decided i need a prequel book with dual povs of Ace and David. I want to see how their relationship fell apart and how David reacted to the hitman and how Ace thought about Nova surviving. I need answers.
Oh you're SO right!! The few pages we got between the prologue and the reveal™ are not enough to convey the tragedy of their falling apart! I'm sure there's layers to it and I need them 😭😭
The missed potential of the Age of Anarchy will forever be my Roman Empire. The origin stories. The development in relationships from both sides. The possibilities!!!
