daithí is a single dad living in henford with his teenage daughter felicity. they’ve got a quaint house on a quiet road with an open garden.

things had always been rocky with his long term girlfriend. hoping that things would get better between them when felicity came along, they soon realised that things just weren't going to work. they split up not long after felicity turned four, and daithí decided it was best for her to stay with him because her mother travels for work. nowadays they co-parent with felicity staying with him on the weekdays.

daithí is a veteran daniel stan. he’s been following daniel’s career since before his big popularity boom. he has very proudly collected every single episode of ‘your dad’s garage’ and has them neatly arranged in order of their release date. he bought a very pricey signed poster on e-bay that probably isn’t even legit and he has a little backyard space dedicated to crafting items made on the show. he’s not great but he tries! he doesn’t really watch them for the carpentry tips anyways, there are more interesting things to look at in the show.. 👀 he also made some bootleg merch from a t-shirt printing store that says “#1 daniel fan”

up until last year daithí worked as a caretaker for the library across the road. he had no problem with the job but decided to give it up to pursue his hobby as a career. he’s always had a passion for drink making, and now runs his own craft beer business from his backyard. he sells it on to local pubs and its been pretty successful!

seeing as he works from his garden and he’s in the house alone on the weekends, he decided to partner up with the nearby vet shelter to take some dogs off their hands. he fosters puppies and tries his best to house train them alongside his own four dogs. the place is usually pretty hectic with dogs doing zoomies throughout the whole house but it’s something he’ll never regret getting himself into.

daithí has absolutely no idea any of this is happening. he doesn’t know what ‘kiss me in komorebi’ is, nor does he understand the concept of a bachelor challenge. felicity’s decided not to tell him about the application unless he secures a place, fearing that he might get his hopes up too much.

some fun facts:

everyone always asks him what the meaning behind his face tattoo is. he tells them that it’s a very personal and meaningful reason that he’d rather not share, when in reality he just got it on a drunken night out as a teenager.

he’s the calloway twin’s uncle on their mom’s side. cillian thinks he’s cool but cathal is scared of him. he thinks he’s too loud 😭

he has the strongest accent in the family, and it’s really bad. like it’s difficult to understand what he’s even saying if you don’t know him.

felicity really wanted a septum piercing for her birthday one year, but she was too scared to get it done. daithí made a promise to her that he’d get it done with her so she wouldn’t be as nervous. so now they’ve got matching piercings!

if he does get a part in the show, it’s going to be very difficult to get him to do any of the ‘outdoor enthusiast’ challenges that the producers might have in store. he absolutely hates the cold and is very much a comfort zone kinda guy when it comes to danger.

he’s a big grump in the mornings, but a cup of tea will usually fix that.

I don't really have the brain energy to go furthur into detail, but both of these track about right for Salem--especially combined. Particularly post-rehab. Salem struggles with his sobriety for a good while right after he's released. Mid to late 2076 going into 2077 are when Salem's in 'ghost' mode. He's alive but he's not really living. Doesn't really have much going on, so he absorbs himself in his music and his projects. He doesn't really have anyone from his past in his life anymore--both because he was now considered 'boring' and 'no longer fun'--as well as cutting out those that were just toxic for him. Could also look at it symbolically if we wanted to go a deeper route. The old Salem is dead and gone, and good riddance too, because that Salem was a nightmare to be around. It was something that was needed, even if he didn't want it or care much for a second chance. What's left now is a ghost wandering about until something or someone comes around that makes him feel alive again.

It’s not as thought he hadn’t expected it, but he had been dreading it. Still dreads it. Remus always was the most fiercely loyal of all of them, almost to the point of being territorial. If one could think James overly-protective (and he often is), then Remus was draconian. He’d spent all of last year rolling his eyes at the girls giggling at Sirius (and sometimes him). Scowling when Sirius suggested spending time with any of them. Even just in general, when James had once suggested inviting another Gryffindor student—a younger student newly added to the Quidditch team—to sit with them in the common room, Remus had looked up and asked Why? He’d said it guilelessly, head cocked to the side with genuine confusion, as though he couldn’t fathom why James wanted to bother with other people. As though they were a complete package, a singular unit, and any addition would be superfluous. Next to him, Lily had swatted him on the arm, saying, Don’t be mean, but Remus replied I’m not, so genuinely shocked that James had known he was telling the truth.

Anyway, that’s just the way Remus is. James likes it, most of the time. It makes him feel special, chosen, like Remus was so content with them and their friendship.

But it does make conversations like this difficult.

taking a break from cleaning because i need to 1) pace myself and 2) spread this out over 2 days so that it doesn't get a chance to get too dirty again before i gotta do final tidying and pickup before the chaos ensues, but i've gotten a surprising amount done for like 20 minutes of clean and 10 minutes of Silly Shit.

#the whiteboard to-do list has been a game changer for me in general #like i don't often have a lot of stuff to put on it #but when i do it's really good at keeping me on track/focused #without being too overwhelming to look at #(or while it might be overwhelming as soon as you knock something off if the list looks too cluttered you can just erase it)#(and then bam less shit on your list both physically and mentally)#my productivity hack is 1) erasable to-do list and 2) find a 15-20 minute video to pop on and work to #you don't gotta pay attention to it but finding something you enjoy listening to is a key #i don't wear headphones while working because i don't have wireless ones and i rarely wear pockets indoors because fuck that noise #so i just pop my phone in a central location to where i'm currently working and let her go #if i have to leave the room i can hear it going and i know i gotta go back for it when i'm done #you just work for the length of the video and assess where you're at when you're done #if you did extra stuff that wasn't on your to-do list #write them down and cross them off - or just pretend you've already wiped them off the list because you did them #and since it's not on your list *now* you don't have to worry about it #i used to work almost exclusively to markiplier's prop hunt playlist but i've expanded for shorter bursts #because that's what i put on if i think it's going to take all day (and then i get about 45 minutes in and go alright i finished)#anyway ymmv if you even got this far or were thinking about taking my advice #i'm just telling you what works for me #and of course it's really mostly onlyhelpful if i've already got the spoons for doing shit that day in the first place lmao #speaking of which i did figure out where the extra spoons came from earlier this week #bad news boys: it was the hormone cycle and now i'm bleedin' out me vag again #okay real sorry if you got this far on the tags thank god this is my own post lmao

time to think about A's vehophobia and amaxophobia in relation to how graphic the car accident really was that took her parents' lives and permanently scarred her both physically and mentally.

like, I say that it's not something that she vividly remembers, but I think that's her just lying to herself, really. ofc she's going to remember something so devastating like that, as much as she might not want to.

it's the initial crash she remembers as if it happened yesterday, but it's not just that. she also recalls waking up to find her parents unresponsive and herself in a great deal of pain, yet still cognizant enough to do what she could for her parents. even though her injuries were fairly significant, she managed to free herself from her seatbelt to crawl over just far enough to pick up her father's mobile phone that was launched from the front seat to the back of the car at the impact to call for help (119, easy enough to remember) and do what she could to provide whatever aid to her parents.

she mainly did this because she noticed that the driver responsible for this accident was rendered unconscious, but also to try to save her parents' lives. however, by doing so and with the dispatcher's assistance by explaining to her how to check for someone's pulse, it's at this moment that she learned her father was dead. instead of grieving in that moment, she—at already such a young age who shouldn't have had to experience this loss—shoved it down to deal with it later so that she could help her mother, who was fortunately still alive at this point.

however, even with that, it wasn't enough to save her parents' lives and to this day, she doesn't like to place too much thought on it, lest it leads to a mental breakdown. and she can't afford to have that, not when the world needs her talents.

i can easily see her being rather apprehensive about entering any kind of vehicle as a result. she usually has to be gently coaxed into a car by watari or L, and even then, she's never fully comfortable during the ride and is usually gripping the seat uncomfortably or the seatbelt while tapping her foot against the floor of the car. usually, she'll take medication to lessen her anxiety about this, however it doesn't remove the worry that she has about being involved in another tragic car accident, even if the last one happened well over a decade ago for her.
