All right, here is the first part of the Chapter where Tales of the Rays English Project left off. This chapter is mostly exposition about what happened in the previous arc. If you don’t know what happened in Arc 1, then a lot of this is gonna sound like Words (tho ngl even knowing the plot a lot of this sounds like Words to me). I’ve tried to be clearer where I could, but...

Mileena: Thank you all for gathering here.

Mileena: Today we’ll be sharing the information we’ve gathered so far and talk about what Zelos shared with us about the Salvation Army the other day.

Mileena: I would also like to discuss our future plans.

Raine: So, let's look back at what happened a while ago.

Raine: This world is on the verge of being destroyed by the Sandstorm of Death.

Raine: Gefion tried to capture the Sandstorm of Death within herself by turning herself into a human kaleidoscope—a living Aegis that would hold the remains of a destroyed world inside of herself.

Raine: But it didn't work.

Raine: So, in order to stop the Sandstorm of Death from overflowing out of Gefion's body, Ix intentionally let his power go out of control.

Raine: As a result, his power was transformed into a mirror stone, called the Mirrage Crystal, which spread throughout the world. This is the Mirrage Crystal.

Raine: They are the crystal-like stones that now jut out of the ground around the world. These crystals all contain part of the Sandstorm of Death.

Mileena: And Ix is also trapped in the Mirrage Crystal...

Jade: This triggered is what is known as the "Mirrorshift". The phenomenon was accompanied by tremors where the Mirrage Crystals broke from the earth. Many areas sustained heavy damages.

Jade: It seems that the Asgardian Empire is extending a helping hand, but it seems that they have not been able to catch up.

Jade: —Now then, does anyone have any questions?

Elle: I don't know, but you mean Ix made a bunch of mirror crystals and protected everyone?

Jade: Just as expected, Elle, you’re very smart! Since Elle understands, we can move on.

Keele: I’m speaking next. The members of Keele Labs have been investigating the properties of the Mirrage Crystal.

Keele: As a result, we’ve discovered that the Mirrage Crystals all over the world are actually one huge mass connected deep underground.

Keele: Of course, it must be connected to the stone in which Ix is trapped. And that stone is still spreading.

Keele: This means that Ix is still transmuting the Mirrage Crystals.

Keele: If left unchecked, Ix could exhaust his life energy, his anima.

Jude: If you run out of anima...

Mileena: ...Yes. It will kill you.

Mileena: But as long as Ix is surrounded by the Mirrage Crystals, he will never die. Even if he runs out of anima.

Mileena: That mirrage is also made from Ix’s anima.

Mileena: If we can get the anima back from the Mirrage Crystal when we break him out, Ix will be fine.

Klarth: So, right now, the Mirrage prison is also Ix’s protective barrier.

Rita: That's right. So there’s still time. If only we could figure out a surefire way to get Ix out of there.

Kocis: I’ll find it. Master's power is spread around the world in the form of the Mirrage Crystal, so I use it to go anywhere I want.

Raine: King Demetrius of Selund has declared the restoration of the ancient Asgard Empire, which is over 1200 years old.

Raine: This is probably because he is trying to revive the Bifrost Empire, which was a rival state of the Kingdom of Selund.

Raine: Both Selund and Bifrost were once under the control of the Asgard Empire, so he must be following its ancient example.

Sorey: If they went to the trouble of reviving the Asgard Empire, it could be that they want to utilize the rituals and customs Asgard passed down.

Sorey: Zelos told us that Demetrius is performing a ritual called the "Descent of the Gods", right?

Raine: Yes. It seems to be a ceremony in which their sun god, Dana, is... placed into the body of a priestess in order to receive an oracle

Sorey: The word "descent" doesn't appear in Asgardian sources, but there are frequent references to priestesses receiving oracles.

Sorey: Maybe there was a point here too, to revive the Asgard Empire.

Collete: A... god is lowered...into the body of a priestess. It sounds something from our world.

Raine: Yes it does... It could have been Mithos's idea...or Demetrius's order after hearing him talk about it.

Mileena: Phillip is investigating this as well.

Mileena: We can't do everything, so let's wait and see what they come up with.

Julius: Now that we're on the subject of Phillip, let's talk about other forces besides the Empire.

Julius: First of all, the Asgard Empire is in control of nearly the entire world.

Julius: It seems that we and the Salvation Army are the only ones who are resisting them.

Kananno Earhart: It looks like Phillip and Mark have regained control of the Salvation Army since Phantom’s death.

Kananno Earhart: The Salvation Army is using Kerykeion Airship right now.

Kananno Earhart: But it seems that more than half of the soldiers have gone with the Empire, so they may not be as strong as they used to be...

Raine: Oh, right. You all remember that Alvin left the Salvation Army to join us, don't you?

Raine: In the meantime, I think it would be a good idea to introduce some other new people.

Mileena: I guess we should. We're all pretty familiar with each other by now...

Mileena: —First of all, Rose and Dezel.

Mileena: Anise and Celsius.

Alvin: Rowan was captured by the Empire. We rescued him, but he's still asleep. He's alive, though.

Alvin: Also there’s Zelos, Kratos, Sync, Kohaku, and—I know she’s also not a nexus—but there’s a girl named Shirley—

Senel: —Shirley!? Hey, Alvin! Did you just say Shirley!?

Alvin: Huh... W-What's with that scary look on your face...

Mileena: If I remember correctly... Senel, you have a friend named Shirley, don’t you?

Alvin: But, she said herself that she wasn’t a nexus. What gives?

Senel: …Maybe it’s... just a stranger with the same name….

Jade: You shouldn’t assume anything.

Senel: You mean, you think it could be the Shirley I know...?

Jade: I think it would be best to meet her in person. I’ll try to contact the Salvation Army soon.

Jade: Senel, you'll take care of that for me, won't you?

Senel: Yes, of course!

Raine: However, we don't even know where the Salvation Army is right now. We'll have to wait a while.

Senel: I wish I could get out there and look—but I guess I have no choice but to listen for now.

Raine: Thank you, Senel. But, I know that won’t stop you from worrying about if that Shirley really is the one you know.

Raine: It's best if you can make a judgment, and even if you can’t, you want to know her situation.
