C-tier skins

While I set up, I figure before I even do any analyses, I’ll do a few tiny posts to get myself comfortable.

Anyone notice how some of the c-tiers in game that are quite sad?

Honestly, essentially all of Luca’s c-tiers are really sad. There’s Moldy Bread, who hints at the sort of food Luca was forced to eat in prison, as well as Yellow Wall, which talks about all he could really do there was stare at the walls. And Gray Coating literally talks about the chance of dying: “If you're lucky, touching it with your bare hands it will make you itch all over. If not, you might die.”

There’s Emily’s Calm Yellow, which speaks for itself: “I've become so numb to death for I have seen so many.”

Emil’s Gray Brown likely talks about his time when he was forced to dog fight: “Gazing at this damp and tiny cage with bound wrists, year after year... What's next?”

Jose’s White Sail (“What colour will the white sail be when it returns from the voyage?”) and Black Mast (”The straight and sturdy mast delivers victorious news.”) are also gloomy if you know the meaning behind it. These should be referencing Theseus, who had promised his father to have white sails raised if he was victorious against the Minotaur, and black sails should he fail or perish. Despite being successful, he forgot his promise and mistakenly used black sails. His father, thinking his son had died, killed himself out of sorrow.

Now Jose’s father would not be one to do such a thing, considering he doesn’t really love his son (he sees him as an object), but this is still applicable to Jose. Because of Jose’s... “mistake”, it did lead to his father’s death. And Jose’s ONCE skin (Departure Date) does confirm that, had Jose just been on that ship, his father would still be around. So, instead of Theseus’s father being sad, it’s more referring to Jose himself, who we know is definitely upset over his mistakebased on 1 of his previous IDVJP twitter responses about his ONCE Skin:

What good am I now? Don't flatter me... I was confident in my skills...as a navigator... That's why...I was so conceited... That day...if only I hadn't made that mistake... You mean to tell me that I could have led my father in the right direction? That instead of disappearing with the ship...I would have saved them? That's not...it's just...ugh...aaa... ✦— THE BATTER

Ganji Gupta didn’t dare dream of the day he’d find his one and only, his true love, someone to grow old and tired with until his heart gave out on itself. Unfortunately, his newfound situation halted any progress he could’ve made.

That was until you arrived at the manor with a letter to hell in your hands. That was until he got to know you better. That was until you shared your first kiss on New Year’s Eve. Ever since then, he’s been completely and utterly yours.

Ganji Gupta is the type of man to show his love and devotion to you through meaningful Acts of Service. There’s little to nothing the Batter wouldn’t do for you. He isn’t above taking hits for you in matches when needed, and he will use his last ball to save you from getting sent back to the manor.

Ganji Gupta who, as much as he loves being on his own, gets a bit lonely at times. Therefore, he loves nothing more than to spend some Quality Time with you. He prefers long walks around the perimeter of the manor and also enjoys getting to rest his head in your lap as the two of you lounge about.

Ganji Gupta teaches you the recipes passed down to him by his Mother. It makes for a great way to spend time together whilst making sure he doesn’t forget them in the process. Cooking with you brings back bittersweet memories and reminds him of his Mother all too much.

Ganji Gupta frequently wakes up from relentless night terrors. He’s heard of other Survivors describing their own experiences with them but didn’t think it would happen to him. Now he finds himself waking up in a cold sweat and alone in bed with nobody to calm him down. This leads to him sleeping in your dorm room more often than not in a way to help combat these nightmares. Hopefully, he can get some rest tonight thanks to your help.

✦— FIRST OFFICER

Who doesn’t know the brave young man Jose Baden? The Sea Knight who wields a pocket watch said to have been blessed by Posiden himself, the artifact that always ensures smooth sailing? The First Officer is punctual, humble, and always knows what he wants. He just didn’t expect it to be you.

Nonetheless, the heart can guide a man better than any map can. He may indeed have fallen for you first, but you undeniably fell harder. Although, who wouldn’t with the way he constantly sweeps you off your feet?

Jose Baden is always true to his words when it comes to you, and therefore showers you with Words of Affirmation. It makes communication between the two of you much easier when there’s nothing to hide. And there are only so many words to describe his love for you, so we’ll have to start from the top and work our way down.

Jose Baden, who cannot keep his hands off you. No matter where the two of you are. Physical Affection is this man's specialty and has been embedded into his DNA. It's the simple things like his pinky finger being entwined with yours or his arm around your shoulder, holding you close.

Jose Baden isn’t afraid to show his love for you in front of others and would never shy away from it. It’s truly a gift to be head over heels, so why hide it? Why not show off what he’s got and everything that’s so precious about ‘em?

Jose Baden who can’t help but take a hit for you in games. He doesn’t ever want to see your blood spilled, and would rather have his coat on the map instead. He’s ready to face the stern talking you’ll give him after the match, but you’ll patch him up anyway.

Jose Baden doesn't like admitting the fact that he misses the sea badly. The things Jose would do just for an evening back on the ocean are wild and many. The closest thing he's got is Lakeside Village, but even the calming waves that brush upon the shore can't heal the pain in his heart. The Officer will admit his feelings to you in an act of desperation and comfort. And comfort he receives from you. From cuddling and listening to him rant about the ocean for the 100th time to peppering his face with soft kisses that seemingly never stop.

✦— FORWARD

Said to have been the creator of Rugby himself, you always want William Ellis on your team. He successfully lifts the spirits of all his teammates while headbutting into the Hunter just before they use excitement. It's the thought that counts, right?

To have William in your corner means to have someone who is with you through thick and thin. Someone who will stick by your side until the end of time itself. And until you can finally realize just how much the Rugby Star adores you.

William Ellis who can’t help but hold you close. Physical Affection is this man’s go-to for showing how much he loves you. Like Jose, he will never feel embarrassed or ashamed when showering you with his form of love and affection. He’s either got an arm around your waist or your hand in his—there’s no in-between.

William Ellis loves Giving Gifts just as much as he loves Receiving Them. While the Forward’s not the best at picking out pre-made gifts, he is the best at making ones straight from the heart. Using his clues and fragments, he’ll craft something he finds worthy of gifting you. Whether it be something like a small, red box in the shape of a heart or a bracelet that has your and his initials on it, the gifts are all made with you in mind.

That being said, William Ellis will treasure anything you gift him in return. And that can be anything. Silly little notes passed underneath the table during dinner. A beaded anklet that has left a tan mark because he never takes it off. Or a smaller version of his Ruby ball with every stitch being almost exact.

William Ellis who’s afraid he might not be good enough for you. Who fears that one day he may be forgotten by everyone he’s ever loved. Maybe that’s why he works so damn hard. To prove to himself (and others) that he’s worth remembering. Fortunately, there’s no need to go the extra mile when it comes to you. William’s proven himself more than enough already, hasn’t he?

About Game 5 (before Jose's 4th bday)

Game 5 Summary:

Patricia puts herself in opposition to the others, who don't believe in Papa Legba.

Edgar using his paintings to "bring out the fear in others and playfully observe their reactions".

Vera is bothered by Edgar's painting. Wants to quickly find the Delphi herb.

(Later) Given perfume making equipment and makes her Euphoria.

Jose hypnotizes Vera and Edgar cuz he wants allies.

(At some point) Hypnosis doesnt last long + Vera uses her perfume to get around it.

Told 1 of them needs to drink the "poison". Kevin does so cuz he compares Patricia to Angelina. He doesn't die though, but the others think he is dead.

Vera and Edgar accuse Jose of causing Kevin's death. Jose has a near mental breakdown.

(At some point) Deep hypnosis left a "spiritual anchor" that acted as a "mental defense" and allowed him to go "through all the experimental processes prepared for him, completed self-hypnosis again with the energy of 5-0-3-U, and was exempted from self-judgement"

(At some point) Before game, they discover a "handwritten note" in the "lobby", likely written by Sam

(At some point) Vera forms a "temporary agreement with Jose to place Patricia at a disadvantage".

Patricia uses Edgar's blood against him. He "doesnt fight back and realized the 'swan song' was his ultimate goal". His art "led to his fall by making him give up all resistance and willingly sacrifice himself".

(At some point) Vera recovers her memories and suffers "something close to a mental breakdown"

Jose's codeword is "boat". On Lakeside boat the umbrella is placed, and the "humidity in the area" is "controlled" until it "reaches the point where the highest degree of change is observed in the magnetic field"

Jose "successfully entered the game", goes to the "marked location" and encounters the umbrella, "falls into confusion" but soon "emotion is gradually stabilizing and his mental state is taking a turn for the better" before he leaves the location and heads to Vera's location

(At some point) Kevin told to repair racecourse by owner. Owner asks him about his health and what he remembers and if angelina was still alive. Owner tries to force an answer until he composes himself again.

According to Patty, their fates are: Jose a psychic medium for Wu, Vera "eternal slumber in the forest of memory", Edgar "sing swan song in repent", Kevin drinks poison and "reborn"

Note about Patricia (she doesn't necessarily want to kill anyone) + the Fates of the Participants of Game 5:

Patricia does necessarily want to kill anyone. Her 3rd letter is the only place that uses the term "sacrifice". Otherwise, her 2nd letter says she just wants them the "face their sins" and that "An enchantress only has to send the sinful souls to the crossroad by any means, so that they will receive counseling from the guide". Her 3rd letter agrees with this when it says she "decided [their] fate" with a "ritual", the success of which depends on "'whether the prey can repent before the gods': the prey must accept their past in order to escape from their predicament"

We know Patricia wants a "sinful soul" to "pay Papa Legba's remuneration" for being able to talk to the soul of her real mother.

It does necessarily say she needs multiple. And we know she definitely uses Edgar based on his 3rd letter, which says "his paintings that gave [Patricia] an opportunity to use his blood against him. At the final moment, [Edgar] did not fight back and realized that the 'swan song' was his ultimate goal". It also later says "it was art that led to his fall by making him give up all resistance and willingly sacrifice himself".

This fits with Patricia's 4th letter, which says (about Edgar) "may you be surrounded by rivers of blood and sing your swan song in repent".

As for the others, they seem to fit too.

She says about Vera "may you be blinded by falsehoods and fall into an everlasting slumber in the forest of memory". We know Chloe (Perfumer) has been using her perfume to forget killing her sister (Vera). We also know from Vera's 4th letter that "I have no choice but to increase the ratio until I obtain the ultimate peace". From her 3rd letter, it states know she has "something close to a mental breakdown" when she remembers.

About Kevin, she says "may you be wakened by a bite from the serpent and reborn after baptism". This ties to Kevin drinking the poison (for her) which he doesn't die from. It also ties to his 4th letter, which implies the manor owner is using his drugs on Kevin to mess with his memories and try to make him think Angelina is alive (likely because the owner wants to use it on himself regarding his own memories of the tragedy regarding Alice and the events that killed the DeRoss family aka Alice's parents).

About Jose, she says "I wish you'd fall into the mire of illusion and relish in becoming a psychic medium". This connects to Wu Chang's 3rd letter, which says Jose enters the game, goes to the location with the umbrella, becomes "confused" but his emotions soon "gradually stabilize, and his mental state is takinga turn for the better" before he leaves the location and heads to Vera's location. There's also Jose's 3rd letter which states he had used the mental defense provided by the spiritual anchor from when he had "deep hypnosis" performed on him" as well as with Wu Chang's helps, as it says he "went through all the experimental processes prepared for him, completed self-hypnosis again with the energy of [Wu Chang], and was exempted from self-judgment".

It is interesting that unlike the others she says "I wish" instead of "may you", which could imply he is somehow different from the rest. Considering her 3rd letter states she "decided the fate of the preys", the fact she says "wish" instead of "may" could mean she was unable to "decide" his fate.

What that may mean, I'm not sure. Could imply he's alive. Could imply he didn't become a "sacrifice" for her ritual. Could imply something else happened to him. Maybe she couldn't do anything to him once he was with Wu Chang. Who knows...
