In canon and not my beautiful dream world in which eddie is friends with everyone and talks about their feelings together out of a desperate need to put themes into words I think they would be in that like nightmare awkward space of Understanding but unable to cope with each other. Eddie has some sort of respect for him for a few reasons namely his connection to dizzy and his ability to Hide his status of gear from the rest of the world. I dont think sol would possibly give enough of a shit about eddie to like Care about him beyond “dizzy knows him. Hes attached to a guy I want to kill.” But I think out of like some sort of sympathy of Someone Hurt by gear cells hed begrudgingly give him distance.

I think they have similar ideas on the whole being weapons for the sake of someone else thing but go about it in very different ways. They both kind of seem to give into their role very easily and embody “if im a monster im a Monster. I have no time for humanity” while both seeming to crave genuine connection and for someone to see them as human which is funny. I can see them getting along specifically if dizzy acted as a buffer to the whole. Them both having genuine physical urges from their dna to kill the other. Honestly I think the best result of their dynamic is a sort of Distant Respect. I wont hurt you because it would hurt someone who slipped through my facade of A Bad Guy. Kind of thrown out the window when zato is involved cus sol seems to genuinely despise him (rightfully) but I dunno. I think they have very similar ideas about their forced situations but kind of end up being water and oil when actually facing each other. So, let's time travel WAY back to 2014. During my senior year of high school, I was what you'd call an orchestra kid. Cringe doesn't defy how weird we were back then. Y'all orchestra kids got it easy now and not be ostracized by the other students.

Now you know my past. Time for the nit and griddy of this post. You see, I was a very cringy fan girl. I shipped whatever I wanted, and loved villains with it now being problematic in fandoms to not love anyone problematic. I yandere laughed to spook people at lunch.

I was into Sherlock, Doctor Who, Hetalia the works! All those Tumblr shit in 2013-15. I was neck deep into those fandoms. Also mind you i didn't get a Tumblr until '15 but I degress.

The point is, online during 13-15 was the glory days of fandoms. Ship wars were ironic with no malicious implications, you can make posts of your favorite celebrity and enjoy their works. Slash fics were called lemons. Anime was becoming more mainstream. The hottest men in Hollywood who were the kindest men alive happened!

I remember those days...less on finding dirt on celebrities and getting them canceled. The weeb community had no infighting on what's the best anime. How we consumed media is now changed to, better observe it like an essay and not for entertainment.

All because we were having a good time online and enjoying our time, oblivious to the world around us. If we were woke back then, we might of had Hilary as president but we didn't. We had anit sjw channels at its peak that influenced how we spoke. Trump literally used memes to get into the white house.

Now aways the new generation of us dont realize how much danger we are in. This is the "cringe crowd". The outcasts. The neruodivergant community to influence fandoms. 2) Lawn grass the most watered agricultural plant in the US? And not even at a length to foster biodiversity? Fucking nauseating. Get a mega pack of your favorite kind of plant seeds and sprinkle them wherever u deem necessary whenever u deem necessary. I used to buy individual seed packets now I just get the giant bulk bags of mixed seeds on Amazon. They have good options. “Oh but amazon bad” oh but plants good idgaf about bezobozo it’s cheap and the Earth needs this shit. I am poor. Sad but true! Bonus points (unnecessary but nice) if you mix in some rooting hormone, a dash of some kind of fertilizer or organic matter (fiber, chopped up compost bits, a dash of fertilizer), soak em in water, and lightly clip the shells of the ones that might not otherwise get the nutrients they need.

3) Try to draw a mandala or maze or whatever other puzzle (bonus points for making a new game or puzzle) yourself by hand and be like damn that shit is hard this kind of looks like shit. And then love it because it looks like shit and you made it we need more of that. Post it to ur tumblr or smthing. Take pride in the fact ppl might look at it and be like “wow I fucking hate that.” That’s good, it means ur an individual. Haters will hate at least ur a real boy u know what I’m saying.

4) do weirder things with art. If something freaks you out draw it in a way where it doesn’t. If everything feels hopeless write about where you dream about being in a year or two. Acrylic pens are a personal favorite you can draw on literally anything with those. Think of the options. Another fun idea: oven bake clay and just leaving it in random spots where strangers can find it and take it home if they want. Afraid it will get thrown out? It won’t. Humans secretly love that shit.

5) Learn how to make soap. Or lip balm. Or learn how to make smthing ppl haven’t made before and give it a name. Give urself a tattoo. Or don’t that is probably a bad idea unless ur committed and please for the love of god use actual tattoo needles and ink if u do. (U can always go over it again & again if it heals like shit just make sure it doesn’t look like shit the first time, and it doesn’t get infected, and it is moisturized)

6) Write a letter. Write a book you’ll never publish. Or one u will publish. Or one you’ll use in a different way. Or one where you post sections of it to your tumblr or Facebook or whatever else so people are like wtf is this what does it mean. Laugh at them. (doesn’t have 2 mean just izzz)

7) Set an alarm for a certain time of day and do something that feels worthwhile to u at that time of day. Options include but are not limited to: DRINKING A BIG CUP OF GREEN TEA, taking some form of omega 3 &/or fiber supplement (garlic, onion, ginger, and tumeric w black pepper are also great) (cream of tartar is basically just potassium if you suck at getting that electrolyte in) (creatine allows ur body to restore ATP [energy molecule] way better under stress it’s not just some preworkout shit) mmm good biochemical concoctions make body and microbiome happy, reading a couple pages out of a book, coloring, brainstorming, drawing something while focusing on the best shit you can imagine, observing the patterns within nature, taking a few pictures / drawing something you find very nice, find a way to meditate that works for u it doesn’t have to suck and be daunting, find a new thing to add to ur daily life (could be 5 minutes of work on a goal or just that generally), think about the shit that annoys you and what the coolest possible solution would be. Thank other humans for the good template but don’t feel bad about wanting more. and ways to implement it that feel doable. There is always a way.

8) Look at the news or some other over processed mess say wow this is shit humans are shit at making good content why does everyone micromanage creativity and then vow to not micromanage your own. Give yourself a pat on the back. Find a new creative way to show you are thankful. Watch a video on speaking skills / another life skill you want to improve on or an exercise technique you find interesting. Google a word or term you don’t understand. Watch a fractal video. Think about sacred geometry and the pyramids. Try to balance on one foot as long as you can. Think about how the fuck people are able to do cartwheels that shit is crazy.

9. Take care of yourself as well as u you can, trying to hurt as few other sentient things as possible, always and forever, and may anyone who tells you to do differently be smited by GOD. To be perfectly honest, I have precisely zero faith in people's ability to consistently distinguish between "things in this story were upsetting to me" and "bad things happened just for shock value which is bad writing." Including things in a story just for shock value IS bad writing, I agree! I just don't think it happens as often as Tumblr thinks it does. I'm not even entirely convinced the whole "grimdark fantasy world" thing exists, at least not in the weird, performative way it's talked about, like writers just get off on feeling like tough guys or "edgelords" or whatever.

Like, you see this all the time when people talk about A Song of Ice and Fire. Which are, in fact, highly violent books full of people coming to Unfortunate Ends! But they would have to be, in order to express what Martin is trying to express, which is, "Nobody in war gets to come out on top and nobody gets to be the good guy, because war is a horror that exists to prop up the fragile egos of the ruling class at the expense of all of humanity, quite likely life on earth, and most often in the end at the expense of the ruling class itself." You can't whine about too many bad things happening! If better things happened, they would be entirely different books!

And you can not like or enjoy the story he's telling. That's fine, people are different. But you're really telling on yourself if you think the point of the story is to give you specifically sad feelings or whatever, because the books are not talking about you! Not all books are designed to appeal to you, and it's not a failure of the author if it doesn't. These books were published against the backdrop of a genre that has been taking it as a given for decades that problems come from the wrong people assuming power to which they are not entitled and solutions come from replacing them with the right people whose claim to power is legitimate. ASoIaF is a brutal, relentless, long-form argument that that is bullshit, and that nobody's "legitimacy" or personal sense of ethics makes them either morally entitled or even competent when it comes to holding the power of life and death over other human beings. It presents dozens of strategies, motives, ideologies, and defenses for hierarchical systems of power and knocks them down one by one, through showing the results of each one ending equally disastrously. The story doesn't work without the grim. He's making a pretty grim point.

Don't like it, don't read it, idgaf. But it's not for no reason, and it's so solipsistic to imagine Martin is motivated primarily by hoping you'll feel bad, like that's the charge he's getting out of this, and not telling a story he believes in that reflects his values. People fuck that up so frequently that even when I'm not as familiar with the story, I just can't take anyone seriously when they ascribe that motive to artists.

Before I say more, lemme get this out of the way first: I played the Ezio trilogy back in 2018 because Da Vinci’s Demons was cancelled and I wanted more Da Vinci content and the white and red hoodie looks cool. In other words, I didn’t play the game because it’s called Assassin’s Creed.

The AC games I played so far, by the order of which one I play first. I’ll rate gameplay by my personal preferences (because it’s the only way I know how).

Ezio’s trilogy (AC2, AC Brotherhood, AC Revelations, played in 2018): decent parkour, minimal grind (just invest in the villa and you’re a millionaire in a day or two), very story focused (perfect balance of historical and modern plots). Decent combat. The golden years of AC and I agree.

Unity (played a few months after Ezio): good parkour, medium grind (bigger map and more items to upgrade, you still get to invest in properties so it helps). Time-saver items are on sale for real money aka MTX (ew). Combat is ok, not much difference since Ezio. Historical story is meh (I don’t care for Arnold because Elise’s story is more interesting) and they completely ditched the modern plot (you think Odyssey has little modern day plot, try Unity). Buggiest AC game I encountered and I played this game 4+ yrs after launch (hold on to that thought, keep reading). Ubi spent all of their time and budget doing the interior design (which is gorgeous btw) that they have none left to fix the bugs.

Black Flag (a few months after): chasing flying papers is my favorite activity to NOT do. Grindy af (no property investment). I can’t tolerate the controls for the ship so I hate everything that involves ship in this pirate game, except for sea shanties. You’ll have more fun playing this game as a pirate than an assassin. Combat feels the same since Ezio. Other mechanics are like Unity (understandable). Modern plot is minimal, but it makes bloodline irrelevant and there’s a....soul inside a computer server that wants to possess a human body, meanwhile said soul’s husband is a maniac who has unlimited reincarnations (realism, I know). Black Flag is the gateway game that convinces me that I should stop wasting my brain cells in “what kinda bs realism is dis?”

Odyssey (a month after launch, bought solely because of Kassandra also when I heard Odyssey is set before the creed, oh fuck yea I don’t need to sit through another rehash of Creed crap or at least minimal anyway): oh gods a breath of fresh air from the old controls where you have to hold R2 whenever you want to run and my fingers hurt sfm. Climbing is the best because the protag actually moves where you want them to move. MTX (ew). Grindy but because the combat and movements are smooth, best combat so far; I don’t see Odyssey as grindy because I enjoy my time playing (also Kassandra); I platinum the game on PS4 at around 130 hrs I think, could’ve been earlier but photomode. Fun quests that I giggle whenever thinking about them (I don’t remember shit about any quests in any other AC game, but then again Kassandra). People bitch about no parkour but who parkour in the 450BCE?!?!? Full disclosure: I never cared for parkour and never will. I stop caring for modern plot after how Unity and Black Flag handled it. Playing Odyssey makes me realize that I enjoy AC games more if idgaf for the AC aspect, rather, I play for the fictional historical tourism aspect. Just ditch the AC and voila, blue sky and fresh air. Playing Odyssey also makes me realize that I want a spin-off IP that focus on the Isu so we can go full fantasy. Do I need to say how pretty Odyssey is? lol

Origins (planned to play Origins first, but Kassandra. Also, I remember Amunet from AC2, but somehow we play as a dude in Ancient Egypt, I’m not too eager to find out, despite I prefer Egyptian mythology over Greek and I’d like to thank Yu-gi-oh for that): combat is clunky, heavy, and slow, though no need to hold R2 to run so phew. Grindy af. The bow mechanics is a decade outdated (Horizon Zero Dawn came out the same year and oh boi the difference is night and day, oh yea I played HZD before Origins. I get it the bow isn’t the focus but does it have to feel like Skyrim in 2017?). I’m glad I play this game for the Ancient Egypt (which is beautifully designed *chef kiss*) aspect and no more. 

Syndicate (I play this along side of Origins, still haven’t finished it though. Literally bought the game for Evie and I nut over Victorian fashion): combat is no different from Unity. Grindy like Black Flag and Unity. Story is meh in both historical and modern plot so far. Evie is the only reason I’m still trying to play this game. At least the Helix outfits are included in the Gold edition of the game. Victorian London is gorgeous tho.

Valhalla (only care for this game because Eivor. Tbh after God of War and Hellblade, idc for another Viking game): game is buggy af, buggiest AC game I’ve played. Combat is like Origins but worse: the only saving grace is the finishing move & the bow mechanic hasn’t been improved since Origin; I honestly would rather have combat from the Ezio games over whatever-this-is. You have to toggle a button to run now, which is dumb af because I miss Origins and Odyssey automatic run. They bring parkour back (because Vikings totally dig parkour back in the Dark Ages) as well as the-character-doesn’t-move-where-you want-them-to from the older games. Chasing flying papers from black flag is back, no thx. Looting enemies is useless, but hey you get to run around to look for a key or two or THREE to get some minimal amount of materials; so imagine if 2/3 of every chest in Origins and Odyssey are locked. Oh! You have manually pick berries/food to heal, no healing potion, wtf is this half-ass RPG shit? Side quests, oh sorry World Events, aren’t tracked in an open-world game (guess who hasn’t been doing these bitches?). Grindy af. I’m wasting my time looking at the skill points interface (you have 99 lv in Odyssey, 55 in Origins, 403 power in Valhalla. A game doesn’t feel like grindy if you level up every 2 quests for 403 times, does it? lololol). The useless SP tree is so massive that I just don’t use the skills I acquire because it takes too much time to find out which buttons to push to locate the 10 skills in this 403-dot clusterfuck, but the astronomy design is beautiful (gotta give credit when it’s due). Scummy practice from Ubi: releasing “time-saver” pack AFTER reviews are published. Also, who wanna bet there will be more mtx outfits than in-game outfits? Don’t worry, Ubi makes inventory management cLEaNeR for you *hands over 8 outfits for an RPG game*. The free event bugs tf out of your already buggy event, but hey, you’ll get a free outfit that’s a reskin of what you already have, teeheee be grateful. Eivor is amazing but by the gods playing this game is a chore. Tbh I only play Valhalla if I don’t feel like playing Ghost of Tsushima that day. Lastly, why is England so yellow like it’s Ancient Egypt?!?!? And why the sunlight moves faster than Eivor’s running at full speed? Which parts of this game does realism count?!?!?!?

Unsolicited opinion: GoT is an example of how an AC game should be and how DLCs should be handled, but with Ubisoft it will never be and I’m so fucking glad that it is Sucker Punch Prod which handles feudal Japan with utmost respect and realism. See how “honor” is handled in both games and compare the writing. Ubisoft should have announced ding dong AC is dead and create a new IP, but AC is their most financially successful franchise so expect more of this MTX, I mean, grindy RPG approach with minimal narrative.

What is your ideal deancas ending and what do you think we are actually going to get?

okay okay okay okay so. i don’t actually know what’s going on plotwise so. 

i need sam and dean to go their separate ways. i absolutely know this will not happen, but i think sam and dean’s happy ending as a unit would be realizing they can and should leave full lives independent of each other. sam and eileen can set up a men of letter’s outpost somewhere idgaf about sam but he should be domestic and chill. 

i would love for dean and cas to Choose Eachother, whatever that means for them. ideally i think..... cas choosing to become human for dean - and making sure that dean understands it’s for him - would be the closing of the circle that was started when he chose to fall all those years ago. we know the empty deal requires that he allow himself to be happy, and i hope that happiness comes with an open, honest conversation with dean. i have no expectations of the content of that conversation, but cas deserves to speak and have dean hear him. and parallel to that, i want dean to let himself go, i want him to listen, and to answer in return. i want dean to speak everything that’s been on his mind, and allow himself to believe that he deserves a good, peaceful end to his life. i want him to Chose what his end will be, free of obligation or guilt. i want dean to say i love you and hear that sentiment returned, no strings attached. dean and cas have always been pulled apart by the narrative, dean fearing that cas ultimately won’t stay, and cas fearing that dean wouldn’t want him to. cas becoming human would be the ultimate expression of his intent to Stay, and a simple honest conversation would be enough to open up a whole future together for them. 

i don’t think we’re going to get a Happy Ending. but i would love for the last episode to end in heaven, with dean and cas sharing theirs. i think jack will be the new diety (of some sort) and i think that if episode 18 or 19 results in cas sacrificing himself/becoming human/being torn away from the boys, episode 20 should give us supernatural style closure, with them finally being able to rest in an afterlife. cas gives up his immortality but gains a heaven with dean. 

i feel like fandom debates whether dean would be a hunter or not if he got what he wanted, and i don’t have an answer for that. i just want him to have the Choice and the Option. i want supernatural to end with a big bang of free will. and i want dean and cas to choose each other. 

as to what i think we’ll get???? no fucking clue. the narrative threads seem obvious to me but i don’t trust the writers so!!!!
