ok since a couple people were wondering in the tags I'll explain where I referenced Sokka and Yue's outfits from here under the cut :]
for Sokka I mostly referenced Aleut/Alutiiq/Unangan clothes (think Aleutian Islands, Alaska, Northwest Coast - thereabouts)
for Yue I referenced Haida/Tlingit/Northwest Coast clothes, specifically this gorgeous apron and shawl combo from the Stonington Gallery which u should soooo check out. I chose this inspo for Yue cus A) its gorge and B) there were like clearly Northwest inspired Totem Poles at the Northern Water Tribe so I wanted to include that element in my pre-uni designs instead of just Mongolian/Siberian elements (which I do loooove seeing in Yue fanart btw iykyk)
as with like. ALL of my atla fashion art I've clearly taken extreme creative liberties with the clothes, because essentially they're fantasy setting clothes and I'm not gonna act like they're not lol. you should def research Northwest Coast clothing if you're into clothes like I am tho because there's plenty of historical resources and modern artists out there
Also while I'm here... go watch Sgaawaay K'unna >:) its good

Fun fact: Morgan is into bodice-ripper/steamy novels. They're a guilty pleasure of hers and keep her entertained at sea
This can lead to some... slightly unconventional foreplay, involving reading together and doing the voices for the main character and love interest. It's worst/best (depending on your perspective) when it's with Ilya...he does the best voices

Jemand feels a chill go down his spine. Don't get him wrong, normally he absolutely loves being called hot. Because he obviously is hot.
And quite frankly, despite her iffy fashion sense, Aimi looks pretty good too.
But he's with Flora and feeling pretty good with Flora, so to have someone hitting on him so blatantly just strikes fear into him like nothing else. He shifts uncomfortably on the spot.
"I mean, don't get me wrong, you're gorgeous, but.."
Great. Yeah. That's gonna help the situation, call her gorgeous. Idiot.
"I have a girlfriend, Aimi, I-I told you about that. I mean, I still don't know about the whole..." He can't help saying his name with an obnoxious tone of disgust. "HaruUUUuka situation, but I can't just do that to Flora..."
“You have a girlfriend who’s obviously screwing around on you... if she’s going to act single, you should show her how it feels.”
Damian was a little confused. Didn’t Todd say he was a cheater? Then again, Renee did say it was manipulation... She didn’t say he was lying, but... He really had to see for himself. Because if he was willing to manipulate him to make him do worse... who’s to say he wouldn’t lie, too?
“Don’t you think you deserve better than that? She already betrayed you... Didn’t she?”
He just wanted to confirm. Could he trust Todd? Using this proxy... he would parcel out the truth from a lie.
Using the girl’s body, he leaned forward, placing a hand on Jemand’s chest. “I think you deserve better.”

there is something so darkly comical about tumblr potentially outliving twitter
tumblr, which is held together with duct tape and madness, run by three raccoons in blood stained Yahoo! hats and a handful of crabs, its only discernible source of income the sale of shoelaces from an inside joke so inside no one knows the original source anymore and fake blue checkmarks... that website still lives on
truly the cockroach of social media and I love it for that

One of my biggest nitpicks in fiction concerns the feeding of babies. Mothers dying during/shortly after childbirth or the baby being separated form the mother shortly after birth is pretty common in fiction. It is/was also common enough in real life, which is why I think a lot of writers/readers don't think too hard about this. however. Historically, the only reason the vast majority of babies survived being separated from their mother was because there was at least one other woman around to breastfeed them. Before modern formula, yes, people did use other substitutes, but they were rarely, if ever, nutritionally sufficient.
Newborns can't eat adult food. They can't really survive on animal milk. If your story takes place in a world before/without formula, a baby separated from its mother is going to either be nursed by someone else, or starve.
It doesn't have to be a huge plot point, but idk at least don't explicitly describe the situation as excluding the possibility of a wetnurse. "The father or the great grandmother or the neighbor man or the older sibling took and raised the baby completely alone in a cave for a year." Nope. That baby is dead I'm sorry. "The baby was kidnapped shortly after birth by a wizard and hidden away in a secret tower" um quick question was the wizard lactating? "The mother refused to see or touch her child after birth so the baby was left to the care of the ailing grandfather" the grandfather who made the necessary arrangements with women in the neighborhood, right? right? OR THAT GREAT OFFENDER "A newborn baby was left on the doorstep and they brought it in and took care of it no issues" What Are You Going to Feed That Baby. Hello?
Like. It's not impossible, but arrangements are going to have to be made. There are some logistics.
