“Y/n, please not now,” Jungwon sighed and closed his eyes, a frown painting on his face. “Next time let me know you want to come pay a visit, I really appreciate it but I have no time right now,” he continued and didn’t wait for your response.

You stood as you were in the empty hallway of Hybe. Feeling like your heart had been stabbed you just bit your lower lip and lowered your head. You took slow steps towards an elevator, overthinking once again.

“Is this it? He’s had enough of me it’s evident. Does he still love me?” you asked yourself when another side of you spoke: “Of course he does. He’s probably stressed about his comeback and has a lot on his mind, just like he said.” You tried to reasonably convince yourself, but sad to say, the first voice seemed more plausible.

With a flooded mind, full of thoughts of your relationship. When was the last time he hugged you? Kissed you? Told you he loves you? You couldn’t recall anything like that in the last few weeks.

When you finally reached home you had let out all the emotions and thoughts by crying loudly.

Hours passed by quickly, and more possibilities why Jungwon behaved like he did coming up one after another.

“I’m back!” You heard Jungwon close the door, making you realize how much time has passed.

Thinking about whether you should confront him about your concerns you quickly gathered all the thoughts about his recent behavior.

“Jungwon we need to talk.” Your voice was soft but serious at the same time. You finally looked at him, already seeing reluctance in his eyes and overall facial expression.

“Y/n, I have no time and energy to do that now,” he spoke slightly annoyed.

“Well, that’s what I want to talk about. You and all the ignoring me. You never have time for me,” you said and crossed your arms.

“Gosh, I don’t have time for anything!” he exclaimed. “I don’t have time to go home and see my family, I don’t have time to call any of my friends, I don’t have time to think about anything apart from this comeback!” You heard how he was gradually losing his patience by the way he spoke. “You think I want this?”

“Honestly? Yes, I do think so,” you announced and your words took him aback.

Jungwon couldn’t really understand your point of view. It wasn’t the first comeback you experienced together, so you certainly knew how many responsibilities lay on him as the leader of the group during that time. Just when he was about to respond you continued.

“You don’t even try to make time for me! Can you even recall when was the last time you hugged me or kissed me? When was the last time you said you loved me?” Tears started to brim in your eyes and threatened to spill with every word you spoke. “It made me doubt if you even love me anymore.”

Your last words were all it took to untie the knot of emotions that tightened in him. You watched Jungwon break down momentarily and didn’t know what to think. Was it too much?

“And when was the last time you hugged me or kissed me, Y/n? Throughout all the comeback preparations I didn’t hear any word of support or encouragement from you, none!” He spoke, choking on his tears, making guilt slowly rush through all your body. “You don’t feel loved, but when will you realize that affection works both ways? I also want it. And I need it just like you do, maybe even more.”

His cries made everything clear. You felt extreme guilt watching and listening to him. Everything seemed to be crystal clear now. It helped you realize that not only you didn’t receive any love during the last weeks, but Jungwon also didn’t either.

Instinctively you took slow steps toward him and wrapped your arms around his body, expecting him to push you away. Instead, he pulled you even closer to him and cried even harder burying his face in your neck. You let your tears fall down your cheeks. You were now crying messes, both from strangled emotions and feelings and from finally finding comfort in each other's touch.

“I’m so sorry, Wonie,” you whispered. “I was overthinking everything and didn’t realize it wasn’t you pushing me away, but it was me drifting apart from you.”

“I’m also sorry.” Jungwon pulled away to take a look at you with his bloodshot eyes. “I’m sorry for not making time for you and for lashing out at you, I should’ve talked to you calmly.

“No, Wonie, I think both of us needed that,” you reassured him and both of you smiled at each other. You laid a soft peck on the corner of his lips only for him to capture your lips in a sweet, lingering kiss.

“I love you, so much,” you spoke laying your head on his shoulder.

“I love you more, Y/nie.”

Vmin and common goals

Someone just commented on a recent post how VMin may have chosen not to serve because they had different goals towards their MS.

now I don't dispute that at all, everyone in BTS have their own goals and objectives.

we've seen Vmin interact over the years and we are all very well aware that Vmin's friendship has never been predicated on commonality.

In deciding teams, they aren't always going over and beyond to be team mates because they have common grounds- commonality is a Tae Kook thing. It's established fact in the Fandom.

We have spent so many blogs spelling out the uniqueness of each ship in BTS and BTS themselves have by themselves explained what each person means to them over and over again.

For Jungkook, Tae is the one he has common grounds with. So no, I don't expect Vmin to have common goals towards their MS. They are Mars and Jupiter and rarely gravitate towards the same things.

While V wanted to flaunt his shaved head around Jimin was much reserved on that note and who does he turn to? Jk.

The foundation of Vmin's relationship while not built around common interests and goals is built on mutual respect, love and appreciation for who they each are. It's built on the mutual need for support and holding space- safe space emotionally and spiritually for each to replenish, heal and grow together.

On that, Vmin has always, to me being more superior to any other ship in BTS because to me that sort of intimacy between people is priceless.

Having someone you lean on, tell your secrets to, share your vulnerabilities with, be there for you at your lowest point fight for you and defend you is just divine and any one who has this level of intimacy from another human being is truly blessed.

Jikook are that too- is what we are saying. They are that and more.

If you pay close attention to the sort of conversations they say they have- coupled with their need to be both emotionally and physically close to eachother it doesn't take much to figure out that those two are intimate partners too.

You can't hide intimacy I keep saying.

So given as Jikook and Vmin are both intimately close to each other, you should understand why I think Jikook just ended Vmin if physical and emotional support and companionship is the reason they chose to go into MS together.

This is not about common goals. If it were, Tae Kook would have been the ones to serve together. They live for the thrill and adventure. There's a reason there's so many conspiracy and misunderstanding around Tae Kook's friendship with the constant, they said they both wanted this, they both wanted that but someone or big bad hybe is keeping them apart.

Except now it's not hybe, it's his tattoos getting in his way. They say.

It would make so much sense for Tae Kook to serve together too if the whole reason for choosing to be comps hinged on their goals.

Tae talked about his goals for MS in the live and he talked about wanting to build his body and becoming strong physically so he doesn't get shoved around and so he can do lots of concerts. He said he's taking risks with his unit but knows exactly what he is doing.

What are Jungkook's goals too? What is informing his decision to go with Jimin? Why not go with Namjoon then?

We've seen Jungkook hesitate to choose teams where Jimin was in a team which conflicted with his goals. We've seen him cheat to be on teams with Jimin even though he said he didn't want to be on that team. We've seen him say he want one group but end up in a group with Jimin- if a person keeps acting this way isn't his goal Jimin? To be wherever JM is?

Isn't that a sign of severe form of attachment too?

If Vmin's attachment is soulmates what the heck is Jikook's attachment is my question cos those two attachment is very nuanced between them.

If it's all about common goals he knows what he needed to do to achieve those goals and yet here he is. Picking trash at dawn and falling in line.

Jikook is a special kind of love.

And has it occurred to anyone they are each other's companions? Years ago I kept saying idols need companionship to function else they will mentally expire. I screamed at hybe to let Tae have a girlfriend or boyfriend because his need for intimacy wasn't being fully met and that was taking a toll on him.

I said Jikook don't look like they have intimacy issues to me. Out of all the boys, they were the ones most content.

But has it occurred to anyone that perhaps they were content and could be highly functional because they each propped the other up?

TRUE COMPANIONSHIP.

If JM wasn't in JK's life I doubt he could have BTS at all. Which is facts given as he nearly even left the group but for Jimin asking him to stay.

Jimin grounds him when he's up in his idealistic adventurism.

Jimin is there to remind him why he is there. To remind to be subservient and not so rebellious, to comfort him when he's under mental pressure from trying to conform to a life so out of his realm of possibility. He is non conformist at his core and MS is bound to be tough on him.

Listent to the members when they say even Angel Hobi seems tamed.

That place will tame Jungkook and its going to be hard on him.

Jimin is what the doctor ordered.

This is about companionship plain and simple. Let's call a spade a spade and not a big fat spoon.

Do you know Jimin's goals towards serving too????

He doesn't want to gain weight, he can't stand being away for 1.5 years, it's going to drive him mad.

THIS IS JIKOOK CHOOSING THEIR MENTAL HEALTH AND SANITY OVER THEIR NEED FOR ADVENTURISM OR WILD EXPERIENCES.

And the fact Jimin is all this for V and he didn't choose this over his desire to chase the thrill tells you just what he values and prioritizes.

He has psyched himself up. He can do this with or without Jimin but for Jikook they need eachother and that more important to them.

Nevermind that, even married couples breakup where their goals and priorities don't aline and they go another way. So no, don't tell me this make or break moment is because they have different goals as if that in itself don't matter.

And sure, since they are just friends we can forgive that. It's not really a big deal honestly. I will ditch yall for pussy too🥲

And yes we have seen Jimin Ditch V over and over for the D- remember when he called V crying and V asked him to come over but turns out he was in JK's room caressing phone screens with him?

If Vmin's goals don't align that's fine, Jikook's aligned perfectly well.

The universe must be pulling strings on their behalf.

They will come out even more closer than before and watch then explain how it's because of their shared experiences in the ditch

When Rationality Becomes Irrational

The number one reason people refuse to accept or admit the obvious nature of Jikook’s relationship is not because of Homophobia or Taekook, it’s because of excessive rationality--Jikook can’t be in a relationship because of the risks.

We’ve all heard the rationalizations:

1. Why would Jikook risk their careers and their bandmates careers over what could potentially amount to a fling? A break up would destroy the group! Jimin and Jungkook are too professional to take such a risk.

2. Hybe would never allow them to be in a relationship. BTS is their number one money maker and Jimin and JK are two of the most popular members. Let’s forget break up, what if they’re outed...that would destroy the group and with it HYBE’s number one source of revenue. So anything that looks suspicious has to be fan service because its financial suicide to allow Jikook to be “real.”

And I will admit all the above is true! Jikook being in a relationship is a massive risk! But this is where rationality can start to impede on our logic.

Yes, it is “irrational” to enter into a relationship with your same sex bandmate in a homophobic country when you are at the peak of your careers...but it was also unavoidable...

Let me explain:

Imagine falling in love with your best friend that you not only happen to work with but also live with. To make matter worse, let’s also imagine that your friend also loves you too. A physical relationship at the very least is bound to happen because at no point are you ever able to escape your feelings...you are with the object of your affection 24/7.

In my opinion, It is more logical to expect a relationship to blossom out of that, regardless of the risks, then to expect these two individuals to have more self control than a Buddhist Monk.

It is not rational to expect people to Always behave “rationally.” Thus, whether or not Jikook being in a relationship is rational or not should play no role in whether or not one thinks they are. Because there is no doubt that them being a couple is a risk...no one is arguing against that. All we are saying is risk aside there is no way they aren’t in a relationship because things like GCFT happened:

Jungkook planned and paid to take Jimin to Tokyo for his birthday--A city he said he wanted to spend his free time in on multiple occasions. He then spent a lot of time researching and constructing a romantic vlog of Jimin in Tokyo set to the tune of a romantic song. No normal unbiased person walked away from that video thinking anything other than this video was made by a man in love with Jimin.

Risk aside there is no way they aren’t in a relationship because they say things to, and about each other like, “I promised him I’d go even to the moon with him,” or “he’s my I am you, you are me,” or “I want to spend a long time with you” or “my favorite thing is waking up and seeing JK.” These aren’t things Just friends or even best friends say to each other in normal conversations. These are words lovers speak to each other.

Risk aside there is no way they aren’t in a relationship because instead of just flying to Hawaii from Europe, Jimin chose to fly back to Korea, get JK a birthday cake, and plan a birthday party to surprise Jungkook. He didn’t just wish Jungkook a happy birthday like any just “friend” would do, he made it a point to never miss celebrating Jungkook’s birthday with him. That is something a boyfriend or husband would do for their partner.

Risk aside there is no way they aren’t in a relationship because whenever JK looks at or talks about Jimin he has stars in his eyes. Jungkook comes live a lot and he spends the vast majority of his lives either live reacting to Jimin content, talking about Jimin, or becoming like a kid at recess whenever Jimin makes a point to comment on his lives. How can anyone watch JK’s recent lives and not conclude that, that man is in love with Jimin. His behavior is not normal friend behavior. Hobi’s support, and Yoongi’s support is normal friend behavior. They show up for him, cheer him on and even fan girl. But JK takes the cake. He spends huge chunks of time just gushing over JM, Why? Because he loves him.

Risk aside there is no way they aren’t in a relationship because when sick the only person JK doesn’t mind accompanying him or staying in the room with him, even when he’s being stripped naked is Jimin. When RM asked if he wanted them to leave for privacy...JK said yes but no one made JM leave because it’s understood that JM is not like the rest when it comes to JK. That’s a high level of closeness...to allow someone to see you so vulnerable, in a state of helplessness and be okay with it.

Risk aside there is no way they aren’t in a relationship because they are always together. Band members, staff, they themselves admit this. They are always together on and off break. JK said when they were on break the only members he spoke to were Ji-hope. When members mention them they confuse their names, or talk about them in unison...Jk and Jimin did this or JK and JM are always up late! They are a package deal. We may not see them much now days but we know they are still together a lot because of the way they speak and other’s speak about them as if they are used to seeing them together “JM will come (box) when he gets off.” “JK make ramen for me when I come over.” “JM come eat chicken with me-” JM responds I will come when done.

Risk aside...Their closeness defies normal friendship closeness. Jikook are human with human impulses and feelings. If they started having feelings for each other there was no avoiding a relationship...regardless of the risk...regardless of Hybe...regardless of the band! No normal human being would be able to stop themselves from entering into a relationship with a person they loved if they were under the same conditions. Every day i grow more sure of the fact that they are together because when I look at them I look at the abundance of footage BTS footage, fan sightings, JIkook statements and I conclude that even though they are well aware of the risks they took it because they knew there was no other option.

Jungkook is more superstitious then Jimin he believes in things like Destiny and from the way he looks at Jimin and behaves towards, protects him and sometimes treats him like porcelain it is clear that this man sees Jimin as his Destiny. Jimin while self admittedly doesn’t believe in things like fate and destiny, he does believe in committing oneself to someone for life and I truly think he sees JK as his life partner...which is why, as careful of a person as he is, he has taken the risk...because JK is his person.

Since they have the same fans, there would be no need for any BTS member to show up on Suga's shows to promote nothing yet here we are- does that make Suga a bigger star than Jimin or Jungkook or any member he features on his show?? Are you stupid?

When We’re Apart | Ming Chapter

January 23, 2023

''I can't believe they're still not talking to each other.'' Seungkwan said, taking a big bite from his food.

Dokyeom and Soonyoung nodded at his words, feeling the same way. ''I've known her for 10 years and have never seen her that angry with someone. I didn't know she could do that.'' The 97-liner remembered the pang that went through his heart when Ming started yelling out all her frustrations at Cheol.

''She really said that she hates him?'' Soonyoung asked, still in disbelief she could actually say that to their leader.

Seungkwan sighed. ''You're lucky you weren't there, hyung. The moment she said it you could hear a pin drop, it was just silence.''

After Ming had declared her hatred for the eldest member, she had left the dorm and had driven back to Soomin's house. The contact with the other members was limited, a short answer whenever someone had send a text.

''Myungho said he has never seen Coups-hyung so miserable.'' Dokyeom told them, updating them on the state of their group leader.

They all groaned, conflicted by the situation. ''I understand him, though. Yerim shouldn't have lied for so long and then making those comments towards him and Shua-hyung was just unnecessary.'' Soonyoung stated, explaining his thoughts.

''I understand it too, but she wouldn't have lied in the first place if they just had been supportive of her dating someone. Remember when Jeonghan-hyung almost had our heads, because we had invited Jungwoo, Doyoung and Mark to have dinner with us and Yerim?'' Seungkwan argued, understanding Ming's side more than his hyungs's.

Dokyeom glanced between them. ''Well, if we're giving our opinions… I think they both made mistakes and should apologize to one another. Yes, Yerimie shouldn't have lied, but they shouldn't have been so rude to Mark or even Yeonjun once they found out.''

Soonyoung and Seungkwan agreed with their unit leader. Both sides have their reasons to be angry and upset, but both sides also were in the wrong.

''Oh my god,'' Soonyoung exclaimed, grabbing his members's attention, ''yesterday, Doyoung send me a text, asking if Yeonjun is really Ming's boyfriend.''

Seungkwan gasped, while Dokyeom looked surprised. ''Jungwoo called me earlier, but I know he's gonna ask about Yer and stuff, and I don't wanna involve myself more in the situation than I already have.'' Him and Ming had briefly called the day after he confessed to have told Jungwoo she had a boyfriend. She accepted his apology and understood that it was just a misunderstanding. He offered to explain to Jungwoo that he had been wrong, but Ming said that she would rather handle it on her own from now on.

''What did you tell Doyoung, hyung?'' Dokyeom asked.

Soonyoung shook his head. ''I just messaged him back, saying that I don't know Ming's business. I don't want a yelling Ming at my door.''

''Me neither.''

A comfortable silence fell upon them, taking the time to enjoy their food and drinks. The preparations for the BSS comeback required a lot of their time and energy.

''Okay, don't tell anyone I asked this, but who do you think she'll choose? Mark or Yeonjun?'' Dokyeom was curious as to what the others thought ever since Ming said she had made up her mind about the situation.

Soonyoung and Seungkwan both thought for a few seconds, gathering their opinion. ''I think she'll choose Yeonjunnie,'' Soonyoung opened up first, ''they'll see each other more at the company and I don't know, I like Mark very much, but she needs someone with a lot of confidence.''

''I think she wants Mark,'' it was Dokyeom's turn to explain, ''I saw the way they were with each other at the park and they genuinely looked like such a nice couple, they were even holding hands.''

''Apparently Yeonjun kissed her in the practice room.'' Seungkwan revealed to them, not able to hold it in any longer.

''Wow! Really?'' ''Let's go, Yerimie!'' They were both wide-eyed, not expecting her to just kiss anyone in the HYBE building.

''Who do you think, Seungkwannie?''

The man in question sat up straight, taking a deep breath. ''I can see her with both, but I honestly think she'll choose no one. I think this whole thing just drained her completely and she'll tell both that she wants to remain friends or something.''

''That might be the best for her.'' Soonyoung commented, kind of agreeing with Seungkwan's opinion.

Dokyeom chuckled, suddenly thinking of something. ''Maybe we should contact Daehyunnie and ask him if he's free to date her again. The hyungs can't be against that, everyone loves Daehyun.''

''That's actually not a bad idea.'' Seungkwan thought about it for a moment. Ming and Daehyun were a very cute couple back in their teenage days.

Soonyoung shook his head, however. ''I don't think that will work.''

''Why not, hyung?''

''He works with NCT.''

''Kim Yerim! I've had enough of your moping around! You're gonna talk to him or I kick you out, I swear to god!'' Soomin exclaimed as she came back from work and Ming was still in the same position on the couch that she had been in before she left.

Ming pouted at her best friend. ''Just one more day, Min-ah.'' She laid back down on the couch, covering herself with a blanket.

''That's what you said 3 days ago! I don't mind having you here, but you should talk to your members, Yer. They're your family.'' Soomin reasoned.

The idol stared at her hands, in particular at the SVT ring that shined on her pinkie finger. ''I know, it's just… that- I was so mean to them and I'm just ashamed to show my face back there again.'' Ming admits, her eyes welling up at the reminder of her fight with Cheol.

Soomin sat down beside her, stroking her hair. ''I understand, honey. I know you feel awful about what happened, but the both of you said things that you regret and you shouldn't let this continue. Be honest with one another and just try to understand each other's point of view.''

Ming wrapped her arms around her friend, kissing her cheek in the process. ''What would I do without you, huh? I'll go over there later and talk with Cheol, and maybe the other members as well.''

''That's great, Yer! I'm proud of you.'' Soomin expressed her excitement, kissing Ming's cheek in return. The two weren't shy to show affection to one another.

Ming had visibly relaxed, her shoulders less tense. ''You want to do something in the meantime? I don't have any plans.''

''You want to make dinner with me? I went to that market yesterday, and I got a bunch of stuff to use.'' Soomin suggested, pointing at the kitchen.

Her best friend nodded and they both got up from the couch, linking their arms together.

Walking back into the dorm had been a difficult task, her fingers hovering over the buttons for a few minutes before caving in and typing the code in.

It was quiet in the apartment, the only sound coming from the tv in the living room. Someone must be watching a film or drama, she thought to herself.

''Myungho?'' She recognised the voice as Joshua's.

Ming took off her shoes and jacket, and made her way into the living room. What she found was a half-sleeping Jeonghan, phone addict Mingyu and focused Joshua watching some kind of American movie she didn't know.

Joshua was the first of the three to notice her standing in her doorway. ''Oh, Yerim-ah.'' He acknowledged her, gathering Jeonghan's attention as he moved his eyes from the tv to her. ''Hey, you're back.'' Jeonghan stood up from the couch and walked over to her, hesitantly putting his arms around her shoulder and pulling her closer to him.

Ming patted his back a few times, still unsure of how she was standing with the members. ''Yeah, how was Paris?''

He chuckled. ''Good, I had Hoshi as my companion, so not boring at all.'' He joked, easing some of the tension that was present in the room.

''Is Coups here?'' Ming managed to ask, nervously looking around the room.

All three shook their heads. ''He's in Daegu, he'll be back tomorrow.'' Mingyu answered, putting his phone away.

Ming nodded, anxiety building up as they just stared at her. ''Uh, okay, well then, can I- uh, can I talk to you guys then?'' She briefly made eye-contact with each of them, wanting to see their reactions.

''Of course, Ming-ie.'' Jeonghan guided her to the couch, softly smiling down at her.

It took her a few moments to gather herself and start talking, she prepared herself for a talk with their leader. Although, there were many similarities with what she wanted to tell the three of them.

''Uh, first, I want to apologize for my behavior a couple days ago. I shouldn't have stormed into their dorm and started yelling like that, it was really childish of me and I should have handled it better.'' Ming started off, a certain weight of her shoulders as the words left her lips.

''I also want to apologize for not telling you that I was still seeing Minhyung when I had told you that I wasn't talking to him anymore. On top of that, I should have said something about Yeonjun too. Uh, I do want to say that I would have been honest from the beginning if all of you would have been more supportive of me.''

Joshua was about to talk, but Ming stopped him before he could. ''No, just- sorry, just let me say what I need to say first, please.'' He looked surprised at the interruption, but gently nodded his head for her to continue.

''I understand that it was out of love and care for me, because of everything that happened with Jihyun. I really understand that, I do, and I'm so lucky to have people that want to protect me from all the pain in the world. However, you guys went about it the wrong way. I would have been honest from the beginning, if you would have just trusted me and been supportive. The way you treated Minhyung and talked about him was absolutely unnecessary, or texting his members to find out whether I was with him or not.'' Ming unsubtly looked at Mingyu, who glanced down at the ground in shame.

''All I want to say is that I made mistakes, but you made them too.'' She finished her prepared speech, feeling less anxious now that everything she wanted to say had been said.

The three men took her words in, letting them fully comprehend every single thing she told them. They were relieved with the way she delivered her apology in such a calm and respectful manner, she wasn't angry with them like she had been days before.

Joshua sat up straight, taking a deep breath. ''We also have some apologizing to do, Yerimie.'' The use of her name brought a shy smile to her face.

''You're right, we should have just trusted and supported you from the beginning. We saw so many similarities with Mark and Jihyun, and instead of talking to you about it, we tried to prevent anything from happening since the start. I also have to apologize for my behavior towards Mark, I should have given the guy a chance.'' Joshua admitted, the guilt visible in his expression.

Mingyu scratched his voice, her attention moving from Joshua to the rapper. ''Me too, Ming Ming. I shouldn't have been in your business like that. I think we all misunderstood each other, and instead of talking about it, we all avoided it. I'm really sorry for the past months, this will never happen again.'' He apologized as well, trying to give her an assuring smile.

Ming glanced at Jeonghan, who seemed deep in thought. ''Oppa?''

''We've been awful to you, haven't we?'' The emotions flowing from his lips, his tear-filled brown eyes looking into hers.

Jeonghan realized how much pain they had put her through with the way Ming delivered her own apology. They had been hostile towards the people she started to care about and she still assured them that she appreciated their protectiveness and care for her. It was like an epiphany to him. She had grown up, she wasn't that small girl anymore that wanted to follow the older members anywhere they wanted to go. She didn't need their constant attention anymore. She didn't need Jeonghan to braid her hair for her anymore. She simply wanted their support, trust and the reassurance that they would be there for her.

The tears in his eyes caused for a sob to leave the young woman. ''No, don't do that to me.'' Ming immediately covered her eyes, wiping the waterworks away.

''When did you become an adult?'' He embraced her and hid his face in her neck, still used to hiding his tears from her. Two pairs of arms wrapped around the hugging duo, Joshua and Mingyu wanting to join in on the intimate moment.

''So, we're all good again?'' Mingyu asked, wanting to be completely sure everyone got everything out that they wanted to say.

Ming nodded her head. ''Yeah, just please! From now on trust me, I'm not gonna lie anymore.'' She promised them, sniffing her nose from the crying.

''We trust you, Ming Ming.'' Joshua's eyes deeply looked into hers, saying more than his words ever could.

The four of them continued reveling in each other's embrace, content with how the situation was worked out and that things were only going to become better from that moment on.

''Oppa…'' Ming sniffed, the three men turning their heads towards her. ''Cheol doesn't really think that I hate him, right?'' The mere thought of him even thinking she would hold anything but love for him in her heart, would haunt her forever.

''Of course he doesn't!'' Jeonghan guaranteed her, his hand coming up to rub her cheek. ''Hyung knows you love him, Ming-ie.'' Mingyu patted her knee.

Joshua caressed her hair, his infamous smile appearing on his face. ''Talk to him tomorrow and you tell him the same thing you told us. It's gonna be okay, honey! He loves you too much to let something like this ruin your relationship.''

She simply nodded, appreciating their words.

''Thanks,'' Ming smiled, ''we look so ugly right now.''

Ming anxiously waited in the kitchen, tapping her fingers against the surface. Minghao and Joshua had left the apartment, wanting to give Cheol and Ming the privacy they needed.

The leader was on his way back from his parent's house and could arrive at any moment.

Her eyes widened when she heard the front door open, sitting up straight in her chair. Her hand left the kitchen surface and she played with her fingers, nervously biting her lips.

Cheol made his appearance in the kitchen, standing still in the doorway once he noticed Ming sitting there. He just stared at her, visibly struggling to come up with any words.

''Hey,'' Ming greeted him, plastering a fake smile on her face, ''how was it in Daegu?''

He nodded his head, walking over to the fridge and pulling out a water bottle. ''Good, my parents asked where you were.'' Cheol leaned against the fridge, expressionless.

The original plan had been for Ming to go with him to their hometown and celebrate the Lunar New Year with his family. Ming's family would celebrate the occasion on a different day, since Ming had given her brothers and father a trip to Japan, where they currently were. Her grandmother had told her to just stay in Seoul and to celebrate with her own friends, since she would be traveling to Busan to commemorate the New Year with Ming's aunt and her family.

The plans had been canceled after Ming had left the dorm 5 days earlier, leaving Cheol's parents to wonder where the young woman was when their son arrived alone. He had briefly told them about the screaming match, leaving out the part where she stated her hatred for him. His parents had been disappointed, but they were confident it would be resolved soon.

''I'll call them later.'' She promised him, a soft smile appearing at the thought of his mother and father.

Cheol nodded, not moving an inch from where he was standing. ''They'll be happy to hear from you.'' He took a sip from his water.

''Can we talk? About what happened?'' Cheol's indifferent behavior made her more nervous than before, it was almost like he didn't care. He pushed himself away from the fridge and took the seat next to her, sitting down with a sigh. ''I think we should.''

She waited for his sign to start talking, proceeding when he nodded his head. ''I feel really bad for how all of that went down. I shouldn't have yelled or chased down Chan, I should have remained calm and explained why I was angry in a civil manner. I'm also sorry for the past months, I should have told the truth about Minhyung and Yeonjun.''

''And I'm sorry for screaming at you, I was really out of line for that.'' Ming finished off, letting out a deep breath.

Cheol grabbed her hand, rubbing his thumb against it. ''Thank you for that, Yerimie.''

''I've been reflecting the past days on all the things you said to us and I realized that I haven't been the best brother to you, and I'm really sorry for that. Instead of being supportive, I was mean and unwelcoming. That isn't fair on you and Mark, also Yeonjun.'' His free hand had made its way to the side of her face, playing with the loose strands of her hair.

''I'm gonna be supportive from now on, okay? I'll still break someone's legs if they dare to hurt you, but whoever you want to be with, I'll give them a chance. A fair chance.'' Ming stood up from her chair and wrapped her arms around the older man, who didn't hesitate to wrap his around her.

She kissed his cheek. ''I'm really happy to hear that, oppa. Thank you.''

''I didn't mean what I said. I'm always gonna care for you, whether you like it or not. You can always come to me with whatever you wanna say, okay?'' His words from 5 days before came back to him, he wanted her to know that he didn't mean a single thing about it.

Ming nodded into his neck. ''I didn't mean anything as well. I was just angry and I wanted to hurt you, because I felt hurt at that time. I don't hate you, I could never hate you. You've done so much for me and it was mean of me to say that to you.'' She apologized again, becoming emotional.

''I know you don't hate me, although I was scared for a few moments but the members immediately consoled me, saying you were just upset.'' He knew she loved him, her words did hurt, yes, but he knew it was out of anger.

''I love you, ddaddu~'' She laughed, blinking her tears away.

Cheol chuckled, having missed the old nickname. ''I love you too.''

''If you don't mind me asking, how are things going with Yeonjun and Mark?'' The leader asked after a few minutes of staying in each other's arms.

Ming shrugged her shoulders, sighing loudly. ''I'm seeing Yeonjun tomorrow and Minhyung hasn't, uh, been responding to my messages.'' It felt weird, but nice to talk about them with Cheol. She wished she had done it earlier than today.

''Just give the kid some time, Ming-ah. I'm sure he'll come around and then you can explain everything to him.'' He comforted her, being sure that Mark wouldn't be able to stay away from her for too long. ''Yeah, I just want to talk to him.'' She mumbled, sitting back down on her chair.

Cheol stared at her for a few seconds, taking her in. ''You've grown up a lot, you know that?''

Ming groaned, already knowing where he was going. ''Please, don't get all sentimental on me now. You know we're both gonna end up crying.''

''You're always gonna be 11 years-old to me, I can't help it.'' He gulped, his eyes already starting to water. ''My parents called me after my first day at Pledis, asking me if I had many friends already. I remember telling them I befriended an 11 year-old girl who was also from Daegu and whose grandmother owned the restaurant we weekly went to.'' Cheol quickly wiped a tear away that had escaped.

''They told me to cherish you, because you were my first friend in Seoul. After I told them about your mother, they said that I needed to take care of you, that children that young needed to be protected from all the evil in the world. I guess I made a promise with myself that day, that I would never let anyone hurt you, and if you cried that it would be happy tears,''

''So, when Jihyun happened, I partially blamed myself. It broke my heart to see you so upset, to see you lose yourself. I know Mark's a good guy, and Yeonjun is always very polite when I see him at the company, but I can't help but think they're gonna break your heart and I want to shield you from that. No man or woman is ever gonna be good enough for you, Yerim-ah. You deserve much more than what you get.'' By the time he had finished his ramble, both of them had tears running down their faces. Ming was overwhelmed by the love he held for her in his heart and Cheol was emotional by how much she had grown over the last 13 years.

Ming got up from her chair again and embraced a crying Cheol, her head safely tucked into his neck. He rubbed her back, calming down her sobbing.

''Thank you so much for everything, I love you so much.''

''I love you, little one.''

I didn't want to bring negativity on my last post about face lyrics but while watching I was reminded of this:

I just can't believe the nerve.

The way they try to paint a narrative of sadness and struggle and misery around Jimin's work, when literally everything we've been seeing about it has been nothing short of exhilarating. He struggled what any normal, flesh-and-bone artist goes through while working on something they really care about, but it didn't hurt him. He wasn't hurting. He wanted to talk about the things he felt and his heartache during the pandemic because he wanted to, not because it was a responsibility.

I don't know where these kind of people were when face was announced and later, released; but pjms barely talked about records or numbers. Some even thought those "goals" that army make for each comeback were too high, and that we should aim lower. People were just geniunely excited for music made by Jimin.

The same can't be said for other group of fans who, from the beginning, had the only and sole goal of "breaking records" and trying to fabricate a successful career for another member by force of remixes and versions.

There's something sinister in turning the support that people were/are trying to give Jimin into selfishness and things that have nothing to do with Jimin.

Either way, let's entertain the idea for a second and say it's about selfishness. Then, why Jimin or people who support him can't be selfish? Why is Jimin always the one who has to compromise and not be selfish?

Why can Jungkook be selfish, just take take take and take, but Jimin should be the one to put part of his life on hold or be relegated to the back of the stage?

If having equal opportunities and having fair support from the company means being selfish, then fuck yeah Jimin should be selfish. Who else is going to be selfish for him?

Or is Jungkook going to say "don't restock my CDs because none of my bandmates CDs were restocked"? Is he going to be selfless and say "split the combined versions of my songs because that's what happened to my bandmates too"? Is selflessness even expected from Jungkook or his fans?

Why weren't Jungkook's fans asked to not be selfish and buy only the same amount of remixes as everyone else got, and stream only one version of the song the same as everyone got? Why weren't Jungkook and his fans asked to not be selfish and stop supporting Jungkook? Why weren't they called selfish for asking more remixes of a song that already had 10 remixes?

This fandom is so used to Jimin being the only one compromising everything always, the only one who should put his life on hold so he can sit back and watch at the rest moving on. They're used to treating Jimin like his best trait is being there for others.

And I will talk about jikookers specifically like I've always done because merely three or four months ago I saw them praying and begging Jimin would do stuff for JK that Jungkook has never done for Jimin. I've seen them begging and praying that Jimin didn't enlist after FACE, not because they might miss him or because they worry about his health or want more music from him, but because they wanted him to be Jungkook's cheerleader during his debut. Even though during Jimin's debut Jungkook was selfish enough to never show up for Jimin. He was selfish enough that the only time he "supported" Jimin in person was the time he happened to be at hybe's so he could use their gym, and Jimin happened to be rehearsing there. But of course, it's only Jimin who's not allowed to be selfish.

sypnosis : a girl named kim yn, debuts under hybe with a ton of attention, making her stand out from the rest. she thought it was fine at first, until she was caught off guard and caught in a scandal with one of the groups in hybe labels.

warnings! cursing & innapropriate jokes (at certain chapters)

"i wonder how many people are going to join our live.." i asked, doubting that we received a ton of attention.

"yn! after yesterday's teaser picture drop, i think we'll be expecting over a hundred thousand to tune in!" minju slapped my arm as i laughed a little and we all had a little cheer before the manager turned on the live.

"oh wow.. that's a lot of people. how long should we wait..?" i asked manager kang and he laughed a little before writing down on the mini white board, "500,000".

"oh wow that's a lot okay... phew!" i said, clearly nervous about showing my face as the rest of the members laughed at my behaviour.

"okay, let's start. shining in the light, hello we are dazzle!" we all greeted and stood up from our seats to bow.

"i'm kim yn, i'm the leader of dazzle, it's nice to meet all of you~" i bowed once again and everyone else did their greetings.

"i'm haruka aori, the oldest member of the group... nice to meet all of you!"

"i'm isabella park! i'm half australian and half korean, nice to meet all of you~"

"last but not least, i'm lee doyeon, nice to meet you all~"

"hello everyone! i'm jang minju! i'm the maknae, nice to meet all of you!"

"once again, we are dazzle! hello everyone, it's really nice to be able to meet and talk to our potential fans before our debut tomorrow. if you all have any questions, do state it in the comments below!"

"not a question, but we really love your twaser pictures and even your mv teaser! we can't wait!"

"woah, thank you so much~ we've been working really hard especially since it's our debut. thank you!" doyeon said and everyone laughed at her.

"how old are all of you?"

"our oldest is born in 2004, and our youngest is born in 2006!"

"yn-nim! please explain what's happening on twitter with you and jungwon sunbae!" minju read it out as they all aw-ed and i face palmed myself, even they knew about it.

"okay okay, i knew this was gonna come, i just didn't know that it'd be coming so fast. before i debuted, i was and i still am, a fan of enhypen sunbae and i used to bias jungwon. but that's in the past so we shouldn't talk about it, right!" my cheeks grew red and i started fanning myself with my hand, my members cooing me and pinching my cheeks.

"you're all so cute! doyeon's pretty eyes, minju's sharp nose, isabella's cute accent, haruka's sharp features and yn's cute cheeks and bunny teeth!"

"oh my, thank you so much..."

"what's one thing you wished you knew before debuting as an idol?"

"that deleting is not the same as deactivating.. this is so embarrassing." i fanned myself even more as my phone blew up.

"are you friends with any idols yet?"

"the sunbae's in hybe are really kind and caring! like that one time yn-nie tripped infront of txt sunbae." isabella said and we all laughed, "it's not bully yn day today!"

"yn's friends with a lot of idols actually. she's a very friendly leader!"

"oh? friends like?"

"well, i was in the same high school as eunchae from lesserafim, haerin from newjeans, ni-ki from enhypen and soul from p1harmony! and they all debuted and we still keep in contact!"

i was definitely going to receive hate after this, i just know it.

"will you be staring in eunchae's star diary, yn-shi?"

"i'm not so sure yet! we'll see! i'm afraid that our time has been used up so we'll be ending the live here! thank you to everyone who has attended our live and we hope that you'll like our debut album! thank you for all the support you've shown us today! shining in the light, we are dazzle!" i said as we all waved to the camera and the manager turned off the live.

"good job today girls. you may have break and start on your training soon, i'll see you tomorrow for your last training and mv release."

"thank you manager kang."

as soon as he left, i fanned myself even more, "yn? you okay?"

"i'm just scared i'll get hate after all that i said. oh my god."

"yn! don't worry! we're always here to back you up! now let's have lunch!"

Different anon from the one (or multiple?) you've already discussed this with. I'm a pretty easygoing pjm all things considered. I think people should support the show if they want (and for pjms the answer is probably not). The thing is since it's probably a paid show, and all of us have limited funds, if you're not buying the show, you can still use that to buy pjm2 which will probably be out by then. I don't think it's a matter of not supporting Jimin since a pjm is probably going to spend that on Jimin anyway.

As for exposure, if it's on Disney plus or something then cool, I'm happy that Jimin will get it but most likely this is a Weverse exclusive so again only people who are already fans are going to be spending there.

Still I'm not fond of calling for a boycott of anything that contains Jimin. It's like I'm not going to vote for BTS for some polls because voting takes energy and time that I don't have for BTS as a group anymore. But at the same time, no matter how many bad feelings I have towards Hybe or BTS, I would never vote against them because Jimin is still in BTS. My feelings about the show are the same. Far be it for me to tell someone to spend their hard earned money on something they won't even enjoy just because it has Jimin in it, but I don't like the idea of calling for a boycott for something with Jimin in it either just on principle.

This is a reasonable take. Probably the only one and I wish other pjms had this mentality.

It's one thing to decide for yourself that you won't support but another to go around encouraging others to do the same and then being proud about it as if it's something admirable.

I find it hard to be neutral about this, to be honest because people's reasons for boycotting are not good enough for me. But this is just me. Perhaps I'm wrong.

The less viewers it gets, the more we are telling Hybe that we are not interested in Jimin content. It's the basics of marketing.

Pjms will buy Jimin magazines and Dior, which are ridiculously priced, and no one says "oh, I should save this for pjm2" so why does this suddenly apply for a travel show where Jk will be in?

How do people know they won't enjoy it if they haven't even seen a trailer of it?

Whatever happens on that show will be funny and entertaining. Say what you want to say but jikook have chemistry and they are 2 goofballs. What's there to not enjoy? They won't be making out, you all. I promise.

So it depends what kind of statement people want to make. Either they will tell Hybe they are not interested in Jimin or support and treat jikook like any other pair in BTS and get over it for a little bit.

“pretty..” was taesans first thought as he saw you enter the apartment next to his. you were his neighbor! a very pretty one, in fact.

Over the course of 2 weeks, he’s repeatedly seen you leave and enter your apartment around the same time he does. Your smile was completely glued to his mind.

The way you greeted him made him feel like he was a teenager in love— well he is. Over those weeks, he learned your birthday was coming up soon. He didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but in his defense, your phone call was quite loud.

he (definitely not jaehyuns idea) decided to make a move on you then. He planned to start off simple, to give flowers and a hand made sweatshirt. It took around 5 tries to perfect the sweatshirt to his liking, (and hopefully to yours as well.) He bought all sorts of flowers, watching a video on how to design a pretty bouquet.

then came the day, taesan was nervous to say the least. he had your present and bouquet sitting by the living room. around 8PM, he heard the shuffling noises outside and you unlocking your door.

he panicked and checked how he looked by a mirror, whispering encouragement to himself. taesan soon found himself pacing around the front of your door, bouquet and a nicely wrapped present in hand. taesan held his fist to knock on the door, but retracted it. taesan hovered his finger over the doorbell, but dropped it.

though, inside you stood, watching him through the peephole with a tiny giggle threatening to escape your lips. coincidentally, you were about to give him a tupperwear of extra food you ordered for him at the restaurant you went to.

with a smile, you opened the door and were met with a wide eyed taesan.

“..oh. um! hello.. i heard it was your birthday today and I made you something..”

he was insufferable. your groupmate, the residential pretty boy in your class, kim donghyun. out of all the people you were paired with in aquatic science, it was the boy all girls dreamed to even talk to. not you though, you wanted to be special.

you never really knew where this hatred of him came from. he didnt do anything wrong, he was never rude or obnoxious. he was just.. too perfect. there HAD to be something wrong with him.

And there’s nothing wrong with admitting that jk got a huge push that helped him achieve all these numbers while other members didn’t. That’s not diminishing, that’s stating facts. it would be naive to claim that the fandom's frankly bonkers 'support' as they call it did not put bts and the members where they are today. it did.

but bts never ask you to do any of that. when they say they love army, it's not because of the monetary support or the endless streaming.

when jungkook tells people to care more about themselves than him, and that fans are the main characters' of their own lives, you can wonder why he says that.

(side-note: i seriously side-eye every single artist that has seen what bts fans do, and now encourage their fans to do the same and buy and stream endlessly. several tweets and posts asking fans if they're streaming. all of that. bts have never done that).

be honest with yourself and really think about how what you listed above in your ask makes you feel. then think about whether jimin would want you to feel that way.

people gotta understand that what fandom says isn't rooted in reality. the reality is bts do their job and we don't know what the company does, we don't know their personal lives, we don't know feelings they only share with the people closest to them or maybe with no one at all. the reality is you cannot take every move, act, breath, word of a member as gospel and base your entire experience around you and twitter's assumptions over what they mean. there's gotta be some grey space where people take things at face value and just enjoy the damn music.

Category is: BTS and Hybe and their relationship in the future.

There are a lot of opinions on Twitter about that. And this being Twitter: I always approach opinions and information there carefully.

My main concern: will Hybe properly protect BTS and support them, even when they're less reliant on them?

Hybe already seems to put a lot of effort into promoting other groups and projects. And that's totally understandable. Being so dependent on one group is not good from their perspective (stock investors probably want to see a wide range portfolio, because they need to see consistency and reliability).

I might be a bit cynical in regards to this, because of my experience at work. But I've seen people (including myself) being dropped like a hot potato when it was convenient, without any regard or care for the achievements, blood, sweat and tears I or others have put in.

And at the end of the day: it's still the KPop industry.

BTS is getting so much shit from all sides and the vultures are always waiting for the right moment. With all BTS has done for Hybe, I don't want the people in suits to turn this into a cold "cost-benefits" analysis.

I hear your concern, and on some level I understand it.

But, I’ve got to give the guys some credit. They are intelligent capable men who have walked into this industry a 2nd time with their eyes wide open. I suspect the reason you’re sending me this ask is tied to NewJeans’ recent performance (and so is a non-issue), but regardless I'll answer your main question which is to say I don’t know if HYBE will protect and support BTS when HYBE is less reliant on them. I don’t know if that will happen. But I do know nobody has pondered that possibility more than BTS themselves. Personally, I feel we as fans should never forget that we’re just fans and only occasionally know more than those right in the middle of it. BTS are the people most impacted if such a thing were to happen, so they must be prepared for it - this is a view that makes sense to me given what I believe their characters to be.

BTS might very well choose to leave BigHit/HYBE and/or start their own thing, but I doubt the reason would be any sort of neglect from HYBE or favoritism or anything of the sort. BTS are still very much the money-makers in HYBE – you’re seriously underestimating ARMYs’ spending capacity if you doubt that for the next 8 months at least. I also want to point out that while Ador has wisely used HYBE’s investment to distinguish NewJeans from their peers and much of the industry, most of that group's success just boils down to ‘simple, good music’. That the girls don’t try too hard in an industry notorious for overkill and outlandish displays of shock-factor is refreshing, mature, calming/vibey all at the same time. It's addictive to just about anyone.

No k-pop company will say no to more profits and so it makes no sense to me for HYBE to malign their primary money-makers i.e. BTS. Just practically speaking. So I believe your fear is unfounded, though I could be wrong. I also doubt NewJeans, even with how cute and talented they are, can change this.

okay so I've been in the fandom for a while okay like right after FIRE around 2016ish idk I don’t really remember. But there's something I wanted to talk about that I don’t really understand. Ok of course its about the ship wars and specifically Taekook vs Jikook. I look on Tumblr and twitter and stuff and yall are actually always talking about how the other half od =f the war is feeling like “oh I bet the jikookers are crying” “oh rip taekookers now they'll finally shut up” like first of all it is never good to generalize a population of any people. I’m sure not all taekookers hate Jimin and not all jikokkers hate Taehyung. Sure there are some that do but I don’t think those qualify as ARMY because as the Tannies have made clear BTS is seven and if we don’t respect that then we aren’t a true fan. Now recently with the Jennie thing I personally don’t really know what’s going on but it seems to me as if Jennie is said to be dating everyone anytime she is seen with them so like personally I like to take lal that with a grain of salt. But if it comes out as confirmed than good for Tae! But what I hate about shipwars is that they seem to really contribute towards supposed fans disregard the maeknae line’s feelings towards one another as FRIENDS. Jimin and Taehyung as we all know are super super close and it seems like everyone likes to forget that. it also is no secret that Jungkook and Jimin are close they are like bickering brothers all the time its cute! and I think specifically with Taekook for some reason everyone and their mother makes it about the ship and glazes over the fact that maybe Taehyung and Jungkook happen to like spending time together, you know as friends. maybe they just find their company enjoyable also if Taehyung was dating someone (Jennie or whoever, idk) why would they have to spend all his time with her/them can’t he hang out with friends too? Why does it have to be all about ships all the time. Like literally there is zero comments under most photos of tae kook thats like “oh yay they're such good friends happy for them to have fun together blah blah blah” its always “OMG TAEKOOK” or “ugh taekookers are gonna be crazy about this” like calm the fuck down. Don’t let your ship blind you from whats important and that is that all members of BTS love each other and we should support them all as individuals and be happy they have a good time with whoever they choose to spend it with. And whether that person they spend time with is another member of the group or a member of the opposite sex or a member of the same sex why does that matter to us. Like literally just let them live. Personally, I won’t believe anything until I hear it from Taehyung or HYBE but like all this hate for Taehyung is unjustified and its no wonder he keeps his life so private if we act like this. Also like the hate that derives from shipwars is so stupid like jimin and Taehyung and Jungkook are all so close and literally they don’t owe us anything. Also sorry this is kind of all over the place I just really hate twitter right now Imma go to DDAY twitter (I also have ADHD so like literally this probably bounced all around)

Hi, not necessarily jikook related, but I wanted your opinion about something of the perilla leaf discussion that I haven’t seen mentioned.

One thing I really don’t like about K-pop in general is the gatekeeping of the artists, so much so that if they are found out to have a SO it’s a huge scandal. I think two idols posted “apology” posts for their fans when they got married/had kids. Now I know this is something cultural that I clearly cannot wrap my head around, but I find it quite sad.

So back to BTS, I was very surprised about the perilla leaf discussion because it was them admitting (albeit indirectly) that they date and have relationships. Hopefully it is not news to anyone that men in their middle-to-late twenties date, but seeing the culture around Kpop in general I thought it was very cool that hybe would release that video (not to mention the whole gender neutral language use that dalloga explained).

I know it’s nothing but maybe one day the culture around idols can change (not that they should disclose their relationship status, just you know live their life knowing that if their relationship is founding out/they want to disclose it they don’t risk losing their careers).

I haven't seen @dalloga 's explanation but I love her so whatever she said is definitely correct. For me I just noticed that the word used was gender neutral in Korean. It just means "partner" basically and can be used for any gender, so it was a good choice and I was happy to hear it. My spoken Korean is truly awful but I know a little bit. Kev's trying y'all. HE'S TRYING. Regardless, the intent was there not to say "girlfriend" or "boyfriend" specifically but to punt that word in favor of a gender neutral term, and I appreciated that. AND HOLY CATS YES I have been hoping someone would bring up the "oh hey we are adults who, y'know, peel perilla leaves and have partners and do adult sex things" because THIS IS SO UNUSUAL FOR KOREAN ARTISTS. Y'all know this is very out of the ordinary when just last year iKON's Bobby had to apologize to fans for getting married and fathering a child. In 2020 EXO's Chen did the same, even though he did not say he was sorry when his wife had their second child in January. It's an issue. We've seen how stans handled Tae's probable girlfriend and his response to that fairly recently. These guys even THINK about showing up with a woman (god forbid a man) and we like to think ARMY would be cool with it but based on my observations, that is NOT THE CASE. Maybe half of us would be fine, even supportive, but there are real, actual dangerous solo stans out there who could and would present a physical threat to the safety of ANY significant other. There's a whole slew of reasons our guys have ALL stayed "single" all this time, even though it's very likely that the majority of them are involved outside the group and two of them have been a couple for years. And I do think Bang and Co. are supportive of, IDK, letting grown ass adults be, IDK, grown ass adults. Which, in K-pop, is refreshing. I dunno if it's just BTS or if they'll do the same for other groups. I hope they do.

^ Some thoughts I had on this :)

Imo I’m actually glad they expanded the crew, because I think they added 2 of the better dancers (for this context) to the SNTY lineup… Ian Eastwood and Vinh Nguyen. Like you said, all of the dancers are super well known in the dance world and definitely highly technically skilled but they don’t necessarily move in the same way. That’s something that could definitely have been improved with drilling the choreo more— the reason Sienna and her crew did so well, is because they are consistently working as a crew, training together or as dancers on tour & in MVs. When you train with the same group of dancers and focus on building unified style and synchronicity, it shows in the performance. I’d say it’s a similar reason that BTS also moves so well together, they’re amazing dancers but they also have a sort of collective inner rhythm from training together for so many years. Likewise the many Seoul based backup dancers that HYBE usually employs, are part of a network of dancers that will have trained similarly or have already been working with HYBE/other companies for a while.

The SNTY dancers are some of the best but also they are all choreographers too, who have always focused on shaping and stylising movement themselves rather than drilling set movements so that they look exactly the same as the dancer next to them.

I think that was definitely a purposeful choice though, because like I said, they could’ve practiced more to make that happen if the lack of unity had been interpreted as a negative thing by the performance directors from HYBE. I think they were going for a ‘naturalistic’ vibe where it feels as though everyone has their own spin on the movement.

Anyway, personally I’m happy they brought on Ian and Vinh, as I think they are actually the two that are the cleanest, most precise, most aware of their facial expressions/aura and also know how to add their own flavour without centering themselves but instead doing it in service of the vibe of the song and their role as back up dancers.

As a professional dancer myself, I am ALL in favour of more recognition for backup dancers, as their work is so often are not appreciated as much as it should be, but I also agree that sometimes standing out too much makes the overall performance look less polished. Idk if this makes sense but I think Ian and Vinh— they dance with a lot of awareness and humility which I think is quite important when you aren’t the designated star of the show… in dance training it’s just as important to know how to support really well as it is to be skilled at filling the spotlight when it’s on you, and I think somehow that quality comes across more in their performances than some of the other dancers imo.

I'm not trying to discredit the work backup dancers do, and maybe Hybe didn't care about them having all different styles, but I don't like how they dance. There are some dancers I appreciate more - actually, Ian is the only one I noticed on the positive, and I don't think Vinh bothered me - but I think the dancers, as a whole, look quite bad. Jungkook looks better dancing, his dancing is more attractive. Also, Jake Kodish, who is apparently a Zionist, is absolutely terrible imo. He looks so uncoordinated and sloppy - he's not graceful at all.

Anyway, I personally think JK's dancers aren't doing him any favors. I'd rather him dance by himself or with his female dancers - or even with only one or two from the SNTY crew (like Ian) - or not at all.

I understand your perspective, but I think overall the dancers look ungraceful and brutish next to JK.

Edit: I actually tried following some of the dancers in the dance practice video, but apparently they aren't all the same dancers as in the MV? I noticed that Ian, while being skilled and great in his style of dancing, doesn't really move his upper body much so it looks like he has a neck injury (because of his specific brand of hip hop). Nick Joseph, who choreographed Butter and Drunk-Dazed - two amazing choreos - is in the MV, but he sometimes looks like he struggles with the moves? I liked him in the dance break. Dom Lashawn's apparently in the dance practice video and it's like he doesn't fully "finish" the moves? He never really strengthens out his legs or arms? This is a matter of personal taste, but I don't think it looks as good that way. Devin Pornel was the most "idol-like" imo and I liked him better. Brian looked like one of the least skilled dancers surprisingly? Yet, for the most part, his dancing worked the best, probably because he has strong facial expressions. I didn't like his posture and how he danced the chorus in particular. I didn't like how Jake Brandorff danced, it looked awkward, inelegant and clumsy. Jake Kodish is the same. His moves look really unfinished and uncoordinated? Lastly, Vinh Nguyen to me had the best gaze, but kind of lacked power?

I made a mess of the verb tenses, sorry haha.

I honestly didn't think anyone looked better than JK. They looked more like "real dancers" in many ways, but JK had more power, nicer lines?, and made the moves look the best.
