I think the crux of what makes the rat grinders so damn rage-inducing is just. How fucking entitled their whole stance is. Like sure they've put in a lot of time! And frankly, if they were just trying to graduate, put in the work, and get out with average fucking grades that would be fine.
But instead the first thing we know about them is that they feel the treatment some people (the bad kids) get is unfair. And like. That's what makes it so frustrating when the revelation comes of what they've been doing for the last two years. Because in those two years they have risked nothing and helped no one. Killing rats in a trainee forest doesn't change anything. The rats are just there. They're not a threat to anyone, there isn't any danger. Nobody needs to be doing that.
Meanwhile, the bad kids have quite literally saved the world three fucking times. The number of people who have directly benefitted from the actions of the bad kids is astronomical! And they have risked so goddamn much in the process. They have repeatedly put everything they have and are on the line, with the only beneficial reward they've gotten being their grades. Hell, mostly their success has just resulted in them being burdened with more work!
So when these fucking rat grinders show up and start complaining that the bad kids are getting favored unreasonably, they and we all know how absolutely bullshit it is, because the reality is, the bad kids have put in so much more work than the rat grinders have, for barely any reward.

unpopular opinion for this area of tumblr, beware+also abuse talk warning
admittedly, all the super casual bashing of saikis dad makes me really uncomfortable, like i dont totally disagree but i wish we didnt just all do it in the middle of other completely innocent headcanoning 😭 its never tagged or warned..
my personal opinions on kuniharu are not as extreme as some are on here, like i think he sucks but i dont think hes a genuinely bad person, he was just thrown into a situation he didnt know how to handle.. he reminds me of those parents who prepare to have a baby and get pregnant on purpose, but then the baby has a disability and suddenly, everything changes.. because they didnt prepare for this unlikely scenario, but it happened anyway, and now they have to figure out where to go from here.. kurumi and kuniharu BOTH made mistakes and didnt handle their genius/psychic kids in ways they shouldve, but its because they werent prepared for it

Seeing Challengers on tiktok (and sometimes other apps too) means having to deal with ppl constantly demonizing one of the three and the then insisting that the other two would be better off with each other (usually with patrick/art or patrick/tashi) despite the fact that all three of them are complex and flawed individuals who have done good and bad things throughout their live who quite obviously need each other in order to make their lives work

im still thinking about the 4halo proposal oh my god they make me insane
the parallels to the date. the fucking PARALLELS. the bench. bad drinking limonade vs guzzling the wine pierre threw him. the way forever opened up to bad both times. the roses. the sham of an interrogation versus the sham of a proposal. forever fucking dying (or totem popping) at both events. bad skipped out on the date to playfully leave forever with the bill and forever fled the proposal to avoid payback after the bbh murder attempt. bad suspecting forever was working for the feds vs the feds destroying forever. they spoke to each other at the date they spoke at each other at the proposal and both events were so so tragic but one was tragic because it was so fucking funny and the other was tragic because it was so fucking horrifying and. just !!!!
and the fact that forever held his presidential ring to propose... it's all just a mockery of love

Shouting into the void with a long rant, but I’m sort of confused by some of the takes I’ve been seeing about the Jikook NYC trip. Basically, I don’t understand why people think it’s weird that Jimin went radio silent or that neither of them have acknowledged the trip. I’m surprised because I’ve seen quite a few people saying this on multiple platforms.
Jimin never updates us on what he’s doing on a work trip? He barely uses social media or updates us on his life at all (can’t believe he actually forgot his password 😭) so honestly why were people expecting him to be actively posting things while in NY? He literally just went to London, completely disappeared, came back and then finally shared pictures of his HP tour on Instagram. And we still have no idea what he was actually in London for, he just ghosted us until he was back. So, there’s nothing odd about him going to NY and disappearing if he didn’t have a public appearance to attend.
At the end of Jungkook’s live he said he had schedules to go to that he couldn’t talk about, but that he thought ARMY would enjoy. Then he left and presumably met up with Jimin. So I think we can infer that the schedule he was referring to probably had something to do with whatever Jikook were doing in CT. And they had a camera crew with them, GoPros, and mics, so they were definitely filming content. Jungkook literally said in his live he couldn’t talk about what he was doing… so, why do people find it weird that they… didn’t talk about what they were doing? They’re especially not going to acknowledge something that is supposed to be a future project.
Anyways, there are a lot of interesting mysteries about their CT trip! And regardless of their motives, it seems like jkk had a lot of fun and Jimin was still physically present for JK during a monumental moment in his life. But I think there are some points that people are emphasizing as ‘weird’ or ‘significant’ or ‘suspect’ that have me scratching my head a bit because it contradicts what we know about them as individuals and the little bits of information we have about their trip.
And I’ll cap this rant post off with something else that’s been bothering me. It’s not weird or significant that Jimin didn’t appear in Jungkook’s post GMA live. That wasn’t a normal live, and it’s not really comparable to the one that JH did after Lolla or YG did after his concert. This was the first live that JK did after his debut as a soloist, and he used it to talk about the MV and his song. I’m assuming it was meant to be like the ones that the other members did where they talked about their albums a bit. That’s definitely not the sort of live Jimin would or should make an appearance on. It was basically part of an official schedule for JK.

been reading Point of Knives, the novella that takes place between Point of Hopes and Point of Dreams and goes into how Rathe and Eslingen's relationship gets started, and when i say i havent kicked my feet and covered my mouth and mentally giggled at an mm romance like this since..... well, probably ginn hale. like youre telling me these two have fucked a dozen times but cant be together because of the conflicting interests of their masters, but oh no! whats that? they have to work together again? and still have feelings for each other? and strike up a deal (complete with handshake) to be winter-lovers and make the best of it until they have to break if off again despite their feelings continuing to grow way out of hand? and one of them is too shy to ask the other his SUN SIGN even after having his bones rearranged? all this, while theres a double murder to be solved?
once again i genuinely cant believe how long it took me to find some of these really good older gay novels, how theyve managed to exist in the cracks completely removed from widespread word of mouth and recommendation blogs. i really cant wrap my head around it
