Recently, I sent a ask to @soul-dwelling about Inca and the discussion around it has led me to create a alternative plot for her
(For the sake of this discussion, some narrative liberties will be taken)
The way it would work is that it would start at the beginning of the Stone Pillar arc with Inca escaping the church and the White Clads trying to get her back
The reason she would be escaping is because she starting to feel safe in the church and is going after the man who promised they would chase her as a enemy and give her one of her biggest thrills yet: Shinra Kusakabe
This could also be used to setup Sho eventual betrayal of the church
Then, after the First Stone Pillar fight where Shinra goes unconscious. he would encounter himself face-to-face with Inca in a fake downtown city (for the memories) in Adolla
In here, Inca would start a fight with Shinra where she would show better fighting skills than before (reminiscent of Medusa), better precognitive awareness by fully using smell rather than smell and vision to read the pathways around her and can set multiple pathways on fire by using all of her fingers
For the majority of the fight, Inca would be on the winning side where she would start monologuing about how everyone who prefers safety and normalcy are boring and they are all trying to drag her down until the climax where Shinra uses Hysterical Strength (giving to Inca disturbingly excited eyes the image of a smiling demon with the kanji for death on its chest) and swiftly knocks her out with a punch to the chest
After that, Inca would start her own version of a love confession where she would ask Shinra to throw all away and just keep chasing her until the end of their days which would be cut off by Shinra refusing it and trying to bring her in
(This is the part where I try making her last wish in the manga make more sense)
Inca would then start complaining by asking why do the people she meets rather live meaningless and boring lives and keep trying to drag her down to it which Shinra would respond by saying that while he doens't remember much of his mother, he remembers that she always felt happier when caring for them even if those moments were boring because her sons were safe
"Boredom gives sense to knightly morals, gives power to hereditary positions and and gives strength to team loyalty. You say that life has to have deathly thrills to have meaning but is that very boredom that gives sense to these thrills"
(And now the fun part begins)
Suddenly , the fake city would start to collapse as a booming feminine voice appears saying it plans to bring them both with her
The Evangelist is here
A chase would begin where Shinra would start to tap into the Adolla link to run away
Inca notices though that no pathway is appearing
The Evangelist is not gonna catch them
But before she can say anything about it, Shinra would go faster than light and travel back in time. To the world before the flames
During this travel, The Evangelist would speak
"This is the world before the flames. Ignorance, hatred, war, apathy, egoism, selfishness and sin ruled this world and the minds of those who inhabited.
"Do you know what Adolla is? It's not just hell, nor where the flames came from. It's the collective unconscious of humanity whereupon the concepts that rule reality can be molded through one's view of the world"
"I, The Evangelist, am the immortal embodiment of humanity collective desire for the end which I will bring through the manifestation of Adolla flames into the world"
"Liberation through flames"
Shinra would logically refute and refuse such a idea so The Evangelist would say while appearing as (wink wink) three specific eyes:
"Then suffer through your friends and allies hatred as your persona of a demon becomes reality"
The next time we would see Inca, we would see her going back to the church with a more monotone happiness with her only explanation being that "she saw the truth"
As she says that, we would have a focus on Charon and some panels of Haumea in a room screming 'Shut up! Shut up! Shut up"
~End~
So...are my narrative skills enough?

[Chao Garden ~ Neutral ~ - Fumie Kumatani, Tomoya Ohtai]
Shinra : Hey, Inca. How would you like to know anything about the Kasugatani Family tree?
Inca : Well, first. I place the seed of my family tree in japan or in Germany. Ahh, that's right! I'm gonna place the Kasugatani family tree inside the grounds of Harz Mountains, where are you are going to place your family tree at?
Shinra : Oh I don't know, probably I'm going to plant it somewhere and then sh*t just comes out of it.
Inca : By planting the seed inside of the planet's core!? What are you crazy!? That's where you going to plant the seed of your family tree? That's not gonna work.
Shinra : Of course I can plant my family tree inside anywhere, It's not like that's going to happen to the planet, what's the worst thing that I really could do?
Inca : Like that will never happened.
"later in Real World AU..."
Inca : How the--(dolphin chirps) did this happened!? Why did you plant your stupid family tree inside the planet's core!? What are you, a simpleton!?
Shinra : What? You said that I was going to plant the family tree inside and that's exactly what I did In order for me to create Soul World as part of my legacy! (Sonic whispers to him) What do you mean I revived a demon named Dark Gaia, shouldn't he stay dead? He was just cosmic horror, what's the worst thing that could happened?
(DARK GAIA ROARS)
Shinra : Okay...You're right I am such a d*ck for this kind of crap. I'm still not happening whether staying human or just turning back into--[turns into a Devil Chaos Chao] I'm so not ready to do some potty breaks.
Inca : Well, this is what I get for being used for omnicide. This is the last time I ever get the from the likes of that Freeza guy or that Griffith fella for making me a villain overnight. I might as well join the "We Did Nothing Wrong" Squad over there.
Shinra (as a Devil Chaos Chao) : Well, screw that. Mangakas can be good authors, but sometimes are weird and would go soup 2 nuts.
Maka : Why did we even bother being collaborating with you?
Shinra (as Devil Chaos Chao) : (sighs in disappointment) F**k my life.

Who is The Strongest Girl in Fire Force?
Of these characters, Hibana is generally considered to be the strongest. She has a powerful Ignition Ability that she can use to attack and defend herself, and she is also skilled in hand-to-hand combat. However, the other characters on this list are also very powerful, and it is difficult to say definitively who is the strongest.

For the ask: 12, 13, 14, 20!
Thank you for the ask, friend! From this ask game. No specific fandom or media, so if media is necessary for the answer I will choose the most applicable one for me for each question!
Alright, this got away from me a little. Under the cut she goes. Warnings for: murder, serial killers, true crime, Jeffrey Dahmer, and some very very very abominable behaviour that makes my gut churn and my blood boil.
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
I don't know if I pay close enough attention to what fandom dislikes to know which characters are unpopular, I kind of just hang out in the spaces that have the things I like, so I may be like "Oh this character is super popular" and it's like no...no Meags. they're not. It's just that you followed five blogs dedicated specifically to that character in the past three days so you're seeing a lot of stuff about them.
If I had to pick one that I *think* would be unpopular, that I like, it would be Inca Kasugatani from Fire Force. I think people don't like her because she's completely self-centered and just wants that adrenaline rush; she just wants that thrill of whether or not she will survive. I think this is an interesting trait to have in a character and one that is not explored near enough in female characters. I find it a bit refreshing, especially that she followed what seemed in alignment with her character and chose the side that seemed more exciting to her. So many times a character will be set up as 'this person only pursues what they want' only to make some weird choice that doesn't align with their wishes, but shows no development up to that point, leaving me to wonder where the heck that choice came from.
We know I love an unhinged fictional character, and Inca is no different. She's coldblooded and does not care what others think. Don't get in her way, because you will not walk away unscathed.
I would never want to force someone to like a character, or to make someone feel like they have to justify not liking a character. I do feel like she would get more love if she was a boy (I can list a plethora of male characters who are self-centered, thrill seekers, cold and low or no empathy who are loved by the masses; I pay enough attention to fandom for that) or if she was on the side of the protagonist, or both, but that doesn't mean everyone has to like her or else they're being sexist or whatever. I don't really care that much if other people like her or not. I just think she's fascinating and I want to see what else she does.
13. worst blorboficiation
Hmm. Well, typically what I dislike is when characters who are complex and dynamic get boiled down to one character trait. That being said, with fiction I tend to try and live and let live.
Real people however? Oh that will get me. That will tick me off. Ignoring for a moment that I kind of find the "blorbofication" of real living people in general just distasteful, I'd have to say the one that gets me actually riled up, the one that disturbs me the most, is the "blorbofication" of Jeffrey Dahmer. Yeah, you heard me. People are out here treating real serial killers like they're some sort of fictional character to thirst over or call their "precious little meow meow". I don't care so much what people do with fictional characters, but if you're gonna glorify and thirst over a man who brutalized actual living people? Disgusting. Difference between serial killers and fictional characters? Uh, fictional characters don't hurt real people. It's just sickening. They sell merch with his face on it. Some call him "daddy"; I've seen the freaking tiktoks. Sickening. Disgusting. Makes me rather uneasy with the True Crime as a whole. Like, at least have the decency to treat the subject of True Crimes with respect and solemnity it deserves. The victims were real fucking people, ffs.
I don't hate all true crime; documentaries, reading articles, etc, I don't hate on the topic as a whole, and I even read and watch my fair share, the true crime fandom is not all bad, but you gotta treat the victims and families with RESPECT. You gotta recognize that some of these victims...their families, THEIR MOTHERS. ARE STILL. ALIVE. How would you feel if one day you're doing ok, you've finally managed to move forward with your life, and even though you miss your SON WHO WAS MURDERED, you can still live...and then BAM. Some asshole is wearing his murderer's face on a t-shirt like he's part of some fucking boy-band. How gross.
14. that one thing you see in fics all the time
"This character is the mom (gender neutral) and this character is the dad (gender neutral) and the rest are all their children" - this dynamic isn't *bad*. It's just done a lot. Don't get me wrong, I do love it as a found family dynamic. But I would love to see more "these two are clearly siblings and this is the feral child that pretends not to care but secretly does and these are the gay uncles and here's the vodka aunt and there's granny with her multiple lesbian wives" or "this one is clearly The Child and everyone else are the Responsible Older Siblings because they CANNOT be left unsupervised EVER" or something different once in a while. A family doesn't have to be "mom" "dad" and "kids". It can be so much more.
20. part of canon you found tedious or boring
Naruto - the flashbacks. So many flashbacks. Often the same flashbacks. Flashbacks *within* flashbacks. Enough. I get it. There's an important scene you want us to associate with this moment. But we already are. I honestly would zone out during some of them because they were just so long.
There you go, there are my answers! Thanks for asking. Hope you find them interesting :)

Ever since the release of the final chapter of Fire Force, a lot of people have been wondering: who are these two?
Tumblr media
It seems the majority of people think they are Inca and Arthur, but there are many who are hesitant to believe this with neither of them appearing to have aged during the time skip. This could, however, be explained with Inca being the first witch and with Arthur being the first Meister (alongside him likely maintaining his ignition ability since he was in space during God's appearance).
Others think it's Shinra and Inca's child alongside Arthur's child, perhaps even with Iris as their mother. Some also theorize that these characters are both Shinra's children but with their mothers being Iris and Inca. While these are all valid ideas, my recent theory is a little different.
I think it's Shinra and Iris' child with Inca as their mentor.
To start, I think that the character on the left is Inca, mainly because their features are nearly identical.  The only significant difference that I will note, aside from Inca's haircut and earrings which can be easily changed, is her pupils. Instead of her usual white pupils, or even the asterisk-like symbol that would appear when she used to use her ignition ability, she has dark, slitted pupils.
To me, this is an indicator of how much her magical ability has grown and how it has altered her appearance - much like how all the witches in Soul Eater exhibit some physical traits of various animals. This could also be a hint as to why she hasn’t aged: she has gained the longevity of a witch.
Tumblr media
You'll also notice how the design on her hood is a mirror of the one she wore during her debut, another indicator that this is Inca herself.
Also, if you're familiar with Soul Eater, you likely noticed that this design is very similar to Medusa's hood as well - a potential, early hint from Okubo indicating a connection between the two series.
Tumblr media
Next, I believe that the second character is Shinra and Iris' child. Mainly because, when you compare this character's features to that of Arthur, there are some discrepancies: they have an upturned eye shape with long lashes while Arthur's are downturned with no visible eyelashes at all. Their nose is more downturned while Arthur's perks upwards. Even their hair is curlier at the ends than Arthur, although this could also be attributed to simply having longer hair. This doesn't touch upon why they wear their hair in the same way Arthur does, although that could be explained as being admiration or familiarity.
The most convincing evidence is the fact their pupils and irises are completely different. While this could be explained away by the passage of time and with Arthur’s existence as the first meister altering his appearance and maintaining his youth in the same way as Inca, there's a more compelling reason that I think this isn’t Arthur at all...
Tumblr media
When we compare this character to Shinra and Iris, this character’s appearance makes more sense. They have Shinra's eye shape, his nose shape, and his brow as well. They also have both Shinra and Iris’ long eyelashes as well as Iris’ light colored hair.
Most convincingly, however, is the fact this new character has the same iris and pupil design as Iris. It’s this reason in particular that I believe this is Shinra and Iris’ child rather than Arthur.
Tumblr media
The sight alterations to the design of this character also make their gender uncertain - especially the inclusion of eyelashes, something that is generally reserved for female characters (outside of a handful of male characters such as the Kusakabe brothers, Pan, Toru, and the children Nataku and Yu). This gender ambiguity coincides with how Shinra’s child is never referred to using gendered terms, resulting in the possibility this characters could be male, female, or even nonbinary like Crona. This also adds even more to the possibility that this character is Shinra and Iris’ child.
Yet another compelling piece of evidence that this is Iris' child specifically is the fact that this person’s coat is decorated with irises. This could, of course, be a sign that this is Arthur and Iris’ child, adding credence to the theory that these two characters are the children of Shinra/Inca and Arthur/Iris. Either way, it indicates a strong bond between this character and Iris.
Tumblr media
Many people will point to the sword on this character's hip and say that they must be Arthur because they have Excalibur. However, the sword that they carry does not appear to actually be Excalibur. The design differs from both the form that Arthur carried during his battle with Dragon (bottom left) and the form Excalibur has in Soul Eater (bottom right). While the design of this sword appears closest to Excalibur’s Soul Eater appearance, it has differences in the shape of the ends of the cross guard, the circle at the end of the pommel, and the presence of a sheath.
This can be chalked up to Excalibur having changed his appearance as he is shown of being capable of doing, considering his aesthetic changes not just from Fire Force to Soul Eater but during his transformations in Soul Eater. He could have simply created a sheath to replace the one lost in the battle between Arthur and Dragon - especially if he transformed himself to include a blade if Arthur was no longer able to use his ignition ability to generate one. But, why would this sheath no longer be present during the events of Soul Eater? Perhaps simply from dramatic effect?
Tumblr media
There is one thing of note to mention in regards to this, however: Excalibur appears to prefer to stay in his bipedal form unless in combat. This is true both in the final chapters of Fire Force and in every appearance he makes in Soul Eater. He only assumes the form of a sword in battle.
In addition, something of importance regarding Arthur's early development as a character is that - after Obi explained to him and Shinra why Company 8 didn't openly display their weapons while entering fire scenes - Arthur only carries Excalibur concealed in his coat. It's unlikely that he would not only be displaying his weapon outside of combat but that Excalibur would be in sword form instead of standing at his side.
Tumblr media
It seems likely that this character simply wields a sword, like many people do during this new era. There’s the possibility that Arthur has taken a mentor role with this character - whether it be Shinra’s child or his own - explaining the similarities between the type of sword they wield and their hair. It’s even possible that Arthur passed Excalibur on to them and that Excalibur altered his weapon form to be utilized by someone without an ignition ability, resulting in his new appearance.
The next reason I think this is Inca mentoring Shinra and Iris' child is the connotations of the conversation between Inca and Shinra before the time skip. She demands Shinra give her his children, or at least provide genetic material for her to produce one of her own. When reminded that Shinra was dating Iris, Inca became disgusted and reiterated that she only wanted his child.
Tumblr media
There is a purpose to this conversation relating to the finale of the story, it wasn't put there for no reason. It's importance is more than saying Shinra and Iris are dating, which was already confirmed in the previous chapter. It could be to introduce the idea of Arthur and Inca getting into a relationship but Inca is adamantly against the idea. It must have something to do with Shinra's future baby and Inca.
It is made clear that Inca isn't romantically interested in Shinra, so this does not lend to the theory that Inca and Shinra got involved. Inca does, however, want to leave behind a legacy through a child - specifically the child of the person who she feels the world, her life, and her new purpose are indebted to. While he turns her down at the end, they have a friendly goodbye as she thanks him, showing there is no real animosity between them and revealing the possibility of a future alliance.
While this conversation could be insinuating that Inca will simply spread her knowledge of magic and lead to the creation of all witches, it doesn’t explain her fixation on Shinra’s baby specifically or make sense considering Inca promised to never stop causing trouble until Shinra changed his mind.
Yet another reason that this is likely Shinra and Iris' child alongside Inca is Shinra's reaction to his child finally enlisting. There is a sense of relief from the person congratulating him (a new character who I think is Maki and Hinawa's child, but that's a theory for another day). It appears as if there was some sort of delay or concern with Shinra's child joining them. This concern could be because his child was training with Inca and learning to become a witch, fulfilling Inca’s desire to “make a life that will carry on” and explaining the relief and subsequent worry felt by Shinra and this unnamed individual.
Tumblr media
The final reason I think this is Inca mentoring Shinra and Iris' child is because Okubo employs a common storytelling device for introducing new characters when the panels shift between Shinra and the two newcomers. This often utilized tactic indicates that one of these characters is indeed his child.
The avoidance of gendered terms could also be to create intrigue on which of these characters is his child and, by extension, whether Shinra ultimately ended up with Iris or Inca. With the light haired newcomer looking so similar to Arthur, it’s also understandable why so many people think Shinra/Inca and Arthur/Iris had children instead.
The avoidance of gendered terms could also be because Shinra’s child remains to be seen at all and that neither of these characters are them, although this theory is less convincing considering it makes the shifting of perspectives make much less sense. It could be debated that this alteration between Shinra and what could be Inca and Arthur during the conversation about children is a lead up to the children of Soul Eater, including Inca and Arthur's descendants, but this is a bit of a stretch.
As it is now, there is no guarantee on who these characters are as they are never directly referred to by name. If it's Inca and Arthur, why have the transition between Shinra talking about his child enlisting and these characters showing up at the front door of Company 8? Why have they not aged and why does Arthur look different? Is it just the art style of this particular panel?
If it's Shinra and Inca's child alongside Arthur's child, what happened between Shinra and Iris, how did Shinra and Inca get together, and who is Arthur's child's mother? Could it be Iris, considering the design of their eyes? If they're both Shinra's children but with Iris and Inca, how did that relationship come to being? Although, Iris didn't seem bothered by Inca's suggestion that they both be Shinra’s girlfriends, Inca seemed perfectly open to polyamory, and Inca could potentially not even be romantically involved.
Perhaps one day we'll get more clarification on this mystery from Okubo himself, potentially in the new series advertised on the final page. Until then, I wonder if these characters are Inca acting as mentor for Shinra and Iris' child. Considering their appearances and how they relate to the other characters - alongside how they were presented in the final chapter - I feel as if it's a theory with merit!
