Enjoy the pseudo nationalist fascism while it lasts. It's about to get way way worse.
Of course the right wing hate is using deep fakes to encouraging left wing voters to not vote. And the fucking legislation some states are working on might as well just be pro deep fake usage in elections.
People are obviously too innately gullible and generally ignorant to handle social media as it already is. We love to laugh at boomers and how stupid they are with recognizing lies and bullshit but my Gen Y friends can't tell bullshit from real off of conspiracy tiktok.
We're in trouble.

There are plenty of scholars who would love to study the Traveler, and the number only grows after the Archon Quests.
Most of them just want to know about their opinions and views of the world, or ask about locations like Enkanomiya. However, there are those that act a bit like Dottore and it's freaky.
Luckily, the Traveler has friends.
Collei tries to distract the Traveler by pointing at random directions while chucking Cuilein-Anbar at the scholars.
Kaveh makes a dendro wall to block paths.
Layla and other students guide the Traveler to safer locations, preferably with loads of matra, claiming that they need a new environment to learn.
Tighnari helps Collei with the distractions, but shoots the guys in the knees (he uses blunt arrowheads).
These scholars are banned from the Grand Bazaar.
Nahida always tries to warn the Traveler about their presence.
Dori's network always deals with the researchers.
And so on.
Dehya, Candace, Wanderer, Cyno and Alhaitham are kept in the dark because there would probably be a murder if they found out.
It all comes to a head when Alhaitham finds out abou this. The next day he takes the position of Grand Sage, decrees that the Traveler is a human being and NOT a test subject and resigns (AGAIN) in a matter of hours.
Chaos ensues, Wanderer almost goes on another rampage.

Hey here's an angle on the Jiang family dynamic and its impact on Wei Wuxian that I haven't seen discussed:
Wei Wuxian grew up seeing Jiang Yanli routinely having her agency cut off and denied in both large (betrothal) and small ways. That were largely tied up in her gender, sure, but this was also a family containing Yu Ziyuan. A daughter in this household had every chance of having her gender treated as of secondary importance.
She just had to earn it.
The way Jiang Yanli was hemmed in and her potential as an independent actor dismissed was at least as strongly correlated with her failure to be a powerful sword cultivator.
So Wei Wuxian's total refusal to let anyone know that he'd lost access to his cultivation and his violent reactivity against being diminished or condescended to during his Sunshot-to-death period, when before he was pretty immune to being looked down on, could have a lot to do with having been presented with this clearly labeled diagram of how your personhood gets stripped away when you are, by the standards of your society, disabled.

For better or for worse, my literary tastes were shaped by spending most of my adolescence reading swashbucklers (and Sherlock Holmes.) I am blaming this for the fact that my jaw actually dropped when Jaime Lannister, asked about his relationship to Brienne of Tarth -- Qyburn is clearly professionally and personally primed to appreciate relevant emotional history/Hot Goss -- chooses to define her as his protector. Sir. Literally anything else would have been more normal. Anything else. He's not wrong! But also. My god.
