Crashing
AUSWNT x Teen!Reader
-------------------
"Hi, Macca!" You grinned, rushing into the Keeper's waiting arms. "I missed you!"
"I've missed you too, kid," she smiled, squeezing you tightly. "How's Spain treatin' you?"
"Good."
"What about me?" Alanna questioned. "I haven't seen you in a while too, y'know."
"Oh, hi Lani," you patted the defender on the shoulder. "Didn't see you there."
"You're so mean," the cityzen feigned hurt, all too familiar with your playful antics. "Kyra said to go and meet her and Charli in her room. They need you for something. Probably a prank."
"Alright," you gave her and Mac fist-bumps as you walked past. "If I turn up dead tomorrow, you know what happened."
---------------------
"Hey, Ky, hey Char," you greeted, eyebrows raised as you followed Kyra into the room. "What was it you needed?"
"Y/N, perfect," Charli was suspiciously gleeful. "We've got some Tim Tams that we need eaten, but Ky and I have already had too many. You mind finishing them for us?"
"Sure," you agreed instantly, never one to deny a Tim Tam (even if it was way too early in the morning. "I'm down."
-------------------
In short, you consumed three whole packets of Tim Tams. Kyra and Charli had shared a look, the former getting up and grabbing a coffee from otherwise empty desk. "You look kinda tired. Have some coffee, it'll help you get through the jetlag for now."
You hadn't thought much of it, so you'd graciously accepted it and finished it within the hour.
"Y/N! Kyra! Charli!" Lydia's voice called through the door, followed by a couple of knocks. "We've gotta head to training! Get ready to go!"
You rolled your eyes, much to Kyra and Charli's amusement. "Yes, mum!"
--------------------
"MINIMINIMINIMINIMINIMINI!" you practically yelled, barreling towards the surprised Midfielder excitedly. "LOOKLOOKLOOKLOOK!"
"Woah, kiddo," she sidestepped, glancing over at Alanna. "You're a lot stronger than I am. Careful."
Alanna was quick to pull you into a hug in a fruitless attempt to calm you down. "What's goin' on, Y/N? You okay?"
You were shaking, bouncing up and down rapidly in the defender's arms. "What d'you mean? I'm great!"
You bolted away, somersaulting across the pitch before slamming your foot into a ball that had been laying on the ground. "WHEEEE!"
"Y/N, Y/N, Y/N," Tony ran over with Steph in tow. "What's happened, kiddo? You just excited?"
"Yeah yeah yeah!" you did a random backflip for no reason other than you feeling like it. "I'm excited! Yup yup yup!"
Ellie looked severely ashamed for what she was about to whisper to Hayley. "Is she... is she high?"
"No, there's no way," the Madrid player shook her head instantly. "She cares about her career way too much to jeopardize it with something like drugs."
"Yeah, you're right. But if she's not high, then what?"
Across the pitch, Lydia and Mackenzie's eyes swept over each and every player like hawks.
Instead of being worried that a new, younger keeper would take their places when you joined the national team, they immediately took you under their wings and declared themselves as your team moms. It wasn't a secret that they'd kill anybody who messed with you.
"Mac," Lydia elbowed the West Ham captain. "Over there."
Mac's eyes zeroed in on two best friends, seemingly worried as they whispered in each other's ears. "Oi! Cooney! Grant! You got somethin' to share with the team?"
Both of their heads snapped up, fear written clearly all over their faces.
Two tall, angry Australian goalkeepers was a terrifying sight for anybody, but up until now, none of the Tillies had been on the receiving end of your team moms' wrath. Safe to say, no one was prepared.
"You give my kid something?" Macca demanded, rolling up her sleeves. "Why's she actin' weird?"
Charli gulped. "We— we, uh..."
"Spit it out," Mackenzie growled, ignoring the fact that you were currently clinging onto her leg like a koala. "What. Did. You. Do. To. My. Kid?"
"We gave her a bunch of Tim Tams," Kyra blurted out, caving as soon as Lydia dragged her thumb across her throat menacingly. "And... and... Charli gave her a coffee with, like, eight packets of sugar in it!"
"Me?!" Charli cried. "You literally handed it to her! And it was your idea! I only agreed!"
"Oh, you two are so dead," Mac glared, lumbering forward with much difficulty considering there was a 140-pound human attached to her right leg. "I swear to God, I'm gonna murder you both."
Lydia did it for her, seizing both troublemakers by the fronts of their shirts. "You think this is funny? Y/N can be fuckin' dangerous when she's hyper! She coulda run over Mini!"
Kyra looked past Lydia's shoulder to where you were snuggling into Macca's knee and babbling about racecars. "Uh—"
A smack to the back of the head shut her up real fast.
"Not now, Ky!" Charli hissed through gritted teeth.
"Tony!" Kyra pleaded as Lydia's grip on her training bib became tighter. "Tony, please!"
The manager held up his hands, walking backwards and almost tripping on the drinks cooler. "Nope. Not getting involved."
"Steph—"
The skipper looked around wildly. "I... I have to go plan your funeral! In the bathroom! Bye!"
"Ras, please—"
The Madrid player was gone before the gunner could even finish her sentence.
Lydia's eye twitched.
"Uh-oh."
----------------------
"Y/N, babes, you good?" Ellie asked, nudging you slightly.
You blinked slowly. "Huh?"
"I'm gonna go get Mac, I'll be right back."
True to her word, the Lyon defender returned a minute later with the ever-protective older keeper at her side.
"Y/N's kind of out of it," Ellie explained as your head bobbed slightly. "I think she's crashing from the sugar."
"Aww, kiddo," Mackenzie sat beside you on the bench, using a hand to place your head on her shoulder. "It's only three, you tired?"
"Mhmm," you murmured, only half-paying attention. "Sleepy."
She sent a cowering Kyra and Charli a death glare. "Go to sleep, kid. I'm sure Tony wouldn't mind. Right, Tony?"
The manager instantly agreed, giving you both an awkward and slightly terrified thumbs-up. "I— yup. Whatever you want, girls. It's- it's totally up to you."
Lydia walked over, brushing a flyaway out of your face. "I'll bring you up to your room when we're done here. Get some rest, kid."

Sound
Steph Catley x Baby!Reader
Summary: Steph talks with Macca
Tumblr media
The rest of the Tillies crowd around you when Steph settles in a seat.
She'd left training early last night to pick you up and sign the paperwork and had slept in. She was lucky Tony was so accommodating. This was a big moment and she's glad that she's got you now.
The idea of adopting hadn't been on Steph's mind at all until she'd finished a game and looked up to see a little girl holding a sign that said 'This is my adoption day present'.
There was something about it that got Steph thinking. It hadn't crossed her mind once and then all of a sudden it was all she could think about. The process was long and she was constantly flying back and forth from England to Australia to sort everything out.
"How old is she?" Mini asks.
"Six months," Steph replies, smiling down at you.
"You're going to be a great mum, Steph. If you need any help just call. I'd be happy to babysit for a bit."
"I can't ask you to do that. Really, it's-"
"Trust me," Mini laughs, patting her on the shoulder," Give it a few weeks and you'll see why I offered." Her eyes are drawn behind Steph's shoulder. "Kyra! Charli! Stop teaching Harper bad habits!"
More of her teammates come up to fawn over you but Steph's waiting in anticipation for one in particular.
You seem unbothered by all the noise, something almost everyone comments on and Steph has to offer them all a forced smile as she rocks you back and forth and pulls silly faces to make you giggle.
"You wanted to talk?" Mackenzie says as she falls back next to Steph," You sounded pretty serious. You're not dying are you?"
"No...Macca...I was wondering if I could get some advice."
"If it's about changing position then I don't recommend goalkeeper. If it's about this little angel, then I'm not sure I'm much help either."
"I think you are." Steph isn't quite sure why she's treating it like it's some big secret. Everyone will know eventually but it's personal right now and she doesn't want anyone prying.
"Steph, you're scaring me a little."
"You know when you found out about your hearing loss, did you feel like learning auslan would help?"
Macca's brow furrows. "Why would..." Her eyes drift down to you. Somewhere across the room, Kyra and Charli shriek. It's enough to catch everyone off guard, heads automatically turning to the source of the noise but you don't react in the slightest. "Oh."
"She failed her first AOAE test and then the second one too. She failed her ABR test too."
Macca reaches out gently as Steph looks at her with wide eyes. "Is it complete hearing loss or is she hard of hearing like me?"
"Like you. I've...I've got baby hearing aids for her..." Steph digs around in her pocket to bring out a little blue case decorated with whichever stickers caught your eye when she got you yesterday. You'd smacked a few of them when Steph presented them to you and she had stuck them onto the case. She pops it open to reveal the aids.
Honestly, Mackenzie didn't even know that you could give babies hearing aids.
"She doesn't really like them though. The doctor said to keep them in whenever she's awake but...She really doesn't like them sometimes and I don't want her teased when she goes to school."
"It's different," Macca says eventually as she watches your whole face be taken over by a yawn," I was much older when I found out. I knew how to speak and communicate. I...I don't think it could hurt to learn it with her although if you're staying with Arsenal long-term then you should probably do a bit of bsl too, just to be safe."
"Right, yes."
Steph had known about your hearing loss for months now. Some of the workers assigned to you had tried to warn you away from her because of it. They made you out to be a difficult case or defective in some way.
But Steph thought you were a little angel.
You were so perfect and sweet and she wanted to adopt you even though everyone told her that there were better, hearing babies to choose from.
But you had endeared her from the moment you met, smacking blocks together and chewing on your fingers.
"You should put her hearing aids in though," Mackenzie says," She'll get used to them eventually but they're no help if she's not wearing them. Did they teach you how?"
Steph nods. "Yeah."
"Can you teach me? Girls like us have to stick together. I can't believe they make ones that small."
That shocks a laugh out of Steph as she sits you upright to slip your hearing aids on.
You whine a little when they're turned on, scrunching up your face at all of the noise you can suddenly hear.
"Yeah," Macca laughs at your annoyance," It was like that for me too. It's so strange that people just regularly hear so much."
You turn your head towards her when she speaks, the first time she's seen you react to noise at all and giggle, kicking your feet.
Steph beams as she stands you up on her thighs and kisses your chubby baby cheeks, blowing a few raspberries on them for good measure.
"Can we play with the baby now?" Kyra asks, suddenly barrelling into the quiet moment," Please?"
"No, Kyra," Steph says with an eye roll," You can play with my angel after camp. You'll be seeing a lot of her back in London."
"Please? I'm really responsible! I take care of Harper all the time!"
In sync, Steph and Mackenzie both watch as Charli goads Harper into rolling off the table. Thankfully, Mini is there to catch her just in time.
"That wasn't my fault! Charli was watching her!"
"Go and play with Harper, Kyra," Steph says," This angel needs a little nap so she can greet her adoring fans at dinner. Maybe, if you're good, you can help feed her."
Kyra walks off in a huff as Steph gets up from her seat.
"Steph," Macca calls out as Steph starts to get ready to put you down for a nap," My audiologist in London does kids as well. I can set up an appointment for you if you want."
"Thanks, Macca."
In the quiet of her hotel room, you finally settle. Steph's seen this kind of behaviour from you before, on those visits before she could adopt you.
Noises still seemed a little shocking to you and strange.
You give her a little smile to show off the few teeth you've got and Steph flutters kisses upon your cheeks as you giggle ecstatically.
It's the best sound in the world and Steph settles on the bed with you on your chest. You're still giggling as she slips your hearing aids out so you can sleep peacefully.
"Go to sleep, angel," She coos to you, close enough that you can feel the vibrations of her words against you," We're going to have so much fun together."

Mum versus Ma
Summary: You go to the world cup camp with your Mum. Based off these requests – one & two.
Warnings: none I don’t think.
A/n: Sorry, this is short. I have been working heaps the past week, but I am still working away at your requests (the Leah x Child!Reader one, the Sam redemption one and I will start on the Barca x Arsenal game one soon) and some other fics. I’m starting Uni soon so will try and get into a more regular posting routine.
Tumblr media
“Harper” “Y/N” you and harper exclaimed as you saw each other when you arrived at camp. You loved going to Matilda’s camp because it meant you got to spend time with Harper, you would always been seen together, whether it was playing together off to the side during the occasional training so Linda could take a break, or having tea parties with Linda in the common room while the girls trained, or even just running up and down the halls together, you did everything together. Everything the media team captured melted the hearts of Australia, but the one that everyone seemed to love was the video taken of you two skipping down the tunnel holding hands, as you giggle together.
____
You were on the bench sitting on Sam’s lap, she couldn’t play because she was injured, and offered to look after you. She practically begged Tony to let her, he knew Sam was upset about her injury and so hoped having you there would make it easier, so he said yes, secretly hoping it might help everyone.
You were sporting your mini-Matilda kit, you had a temporary tattoo flag on each cheek, one was an Ireland flag, and the other was an Australia flag. You weren’t really enjoying the game, you didn’t really know who to go for, your Mum’s had never versed each other since you were born, that was until today. You didn’t really like it, they kept tackling each other, your Ma kept making Raso fall over, and Tony kept yelling that she deserved a yellow, no one was happy.
When your Ma hurt herself in the 35th minute, the teams huddled round their coaches as your Ma was getting treatment, you made grabby hands for your Mum, but she didn’t hold you like normal in team huddles, she just brushed the hair out of your face and kissed your forehead, before turning back to listen to Tony, you huffed and looked at Sam whose brows furrowed which made you laugh and you seemed to forget about being mad at your Mum.
During half time your Mum did hold you briefly before you got too squirmy, so she put you down and you ran around the locker room, no one minded though and some secretly hoped that it might mean you would sleep during the second half, considering how antsy and moody you were getting.
You did sleep briefly in the second half falling asleep promptly after Steph scored her penalty however you were woken up by fans yelling at the ref saying, “that’s a foul” “give her a yellow” and some fans booing. You saw that the ref was talking to your Ma, you quickly realised that the fans were booing her, you didn’t like that, she was just doing her job. A tear fell out of your eye, and you quickly buried your head back into Sam’s chest, who realised you were upset due to the ever growing wet patch forming on her chest, so she wrapped a spare puffer jacket around you pulling the hood up so it covered your head, and hugged you tightly, her comfort and your new found safety from the outside world caused you too drift off again.
When you woke back up, you cautiously peered out of your safety bubble and were meet with a warm smile from Sam, you then turned your head towards the field, where the Ireland and Australia players were too similar of a colour for your sleepy eyes. Most of the yellow Matilda’s jerseys had smears of green all over them, you know it’s from the grass which makes you feel icky again as it meant they had been tackled lots. There wasn’t really anything exciting happening, so you decided to go back to sleep.
You had started to wake up again when you felt two hands at your sides, before you were swiftly picked up and placed on the hip of your Mum, she kept the jumper wrapped around you but peered into the hood and she was meet with your little face smiling sleepily at her. “Want to see Ma?” you nodded eagerly.
“Where is my little Munchkin,” you Ma said before she pulled your head down, “there she is” she exclaimed causing you to let out a cute giggle. You get told to smile, while your Mum’s pose for a photo before you are put down, you make your way over to Harper and you both bear hug each other causing you both to fall to the ground before you are in fits of laughter.
“Toddlers are really just like mini drunk people” Mini chuckles.
“Definitely,” your Mum replies.
“She looks happy now, I’m glad” Sam says as she joined the three women, gaining a confused look from your Mums, “She was crying, that’s why she had the puffer around her, I didn’t want any fans or the media capturing it, I thought that would be unfair. I think its probably because it’s the first time she has watched you play against each other, and some of the fans were booing you McCabe.”
“Oh okay, we’ll have a talk with her later.” Your Ma says before kissing your Mum, causing you and Harper to simultaneous whine out “ewwww”.

Tumblr media
The feeling of freshness —the wonderful smells, the damp feel of leaves falling down the trees, the breeze and the rain on your skin. The sound of rain is wonderful: not just between a hard roof and leaves, but you can hear it on different types of trees and hedges.
The flowers, which look like they were painted by Monet himself, have colours so rich that no one can even attempt to imitate them. From the smallest weed to the grandest stalk, they are all beautiful in your eyes.
Around you are your friends; some are talking or enjoying the countryside air. You had decided to take me on a little vacation before returning to the routine of the busy city of London.
No distractions, no disturbances, especially without him. After seeing how Mason smiled at that blonde standing next to him and Debbie's painful look in the boat, you knew all these years were in vain.
The moments when you took care of him after he vomited from all the alcohol he had consumed at the party, when you covered him so he could go on dates with different girls and other things you had done for him.
The last time Mason saw you still burned in the back of your mind, the little stolen glances he gave you while you were wearing a pink t-shirt, the one that you had left back in a drawer in the Mount's house. Stacey had told you the t-shirt drove him crazy.
It had been weeks, and you still couldn’t understand why nothing went your way. Was it you? Had you done something wrong? Had it been you that caused the gulf?
—Babes, how could you ever think it's your fault? Clearly, he is out of his mind. —Clara talked. You and your friends were sitting on the porch in the extensive field that belonged to your grandparents.
Then Adelaida, who was resting her head on your lap, suddenly stood up, leaning on one elbow and said: —Please don't think it's your fault, you would be lowering yourself to his level.
Everyone had been adamant that it wasn’t you... even your mother. But even with those words of affirmation, it didn’t change the internal feelings, the heartbreak that felt it was never-ending.
All you ever wanted was that connection, that string, that feeling that pulled you to another person, that proved he was the person meant to be for you. It was devastating to think back and know he wasn’t.
Even though you were angry at him, you knew that when you saw him you would act like a little girl, crazy in love.
On the other side, Mason was in the kitchen, picking at the leftover food on the tabletop as everyone else was in the living room. His mother walked into the kitchen as he took a bite of little meatballs that looked delicious and she laughed at the pieces of meat that had fallen onto the kitchen counter.
—That’s definitely not the way to eat —she smirked knowing his son wasn't the type of person to sit down and eat properly.
—But you love me anyways, mom. —Mason flashed his puppy eyes as his mum laughed at his actions. It had been a long year for Mason. He stopped turning to family events when he knew you would be there.
—Mason Tony Mount, I gave birth to you, I know you better than you know yourself-
—Mom. —Mason sighed. —Don't start this whole speech about her, please.
—Dear, I don’t even need to say her name... it will always be her. —She smiled, sadly, as she walked over to her son and placed a hand on his cheek.
—She's happy, from what I heard. —he scoffed again.
—So then you know you’re being an ass, right?
Mason's eyes widened at his mother's question but she just laughed and waved him off. —After all the years she spent after you, dear, it would be cruel for you to not let her be happy.
That sentence shattered his heart. You weren't the little girl who ran behind him in search of attention anymore, you were a woman with maturity, feelings and beauty.
—But what if I’m not happy? —he asked his mum. Debbie felt her heart clench at his words, it was never good for a mother when they saw their son being at his lowest.
—Do you love her?
There was no answer.
—See, that would be very cruel. Mase... either you love her or you’re jealous. Just remember that she's a second daughter to me and I know her like the palm of my hand. I'm certain that she’s fragile when it comes to you.
After a week in the countryside with your friends, you were back in the city, at a party the english players were throwing in celebration of their team winning the last few games.
Every time he looks at you, it’s making him go mad. It surprises him how much influence you have on his night out. He actually believed he could handle it, seeing you after a while. Normally he’s the one who takes you to the football after-parties because you begged him like crazy. But not this time.
Did you wear a white dress on purpose tonight? He doesn’t know. You look beautiful and he wishes he had the nerve to tell you how great white looks on you. He remembers the time you almost kiss in the box, you in the white sweatshirt with his number. The guy talking to you on your right was Foden. Did you wear it for him? He doesn’t believe that, he doesn’t think he deserves that.
Mason sighs. This is one of the hardest nights in his life. He shouldn’t have messed it up. If he didn’t follow what Ben said to him, he would probably be the one talking to you. Fucking Ben.
At the same time, you don’t know what’s bothering Mason. You thought he would be coming to the afterparty with Daphne, but his friends confirmed that he forgot her quickly. He didn't even kiss her. Neither touch her.
It surprised you, you were afraid he would show up with that beautiful model. A part of you felt really happy.
You feel his eyes burning into you while you talk to Foden. You quickly take the cocktail out of Phil's hands, while thanking him in the meantime. He shrugs it off.
—What’s up with you? —He asks you after you take a few sips.
—What do you mean? —You ask him. Is he noticing your bad mood? You tried hiding it, but maybe you failed.
—You seem distracted. Did something happen? —he goes on. You take a sip of your cocktail, thinking about your response. Could it be a bad plan to tell him about Mase? They’re friends after all. But on the other hand, it would be nice to talk about it to someone.
—It’s him, isn’t it? —Foden answers his own question. You didn’t even realize you were looking at Mason until Phil spoke. You nod towards him, —Let’s go outside.
Then, you're sitting on a wooden bench outside. The white dress doesn’t give you much warmth, so you embarrassingly start to shiver. Before you can notice it, Phil drapes his jacket around your shoulders.
—Fuck... —he says, regretting. —I knew it would be a bad plan to invite you. —Mutters softly, —I thought it was a good idea to make you feel better, now I just got Mount to get angry at you.
You laughed, thinking that was very cute. —That’s not true, Phil —you try to comfort him, —you can’t help me being an idiot.
—To be fair, Mason and you are both idiots. —Foden laughs, —Definitely unaware idiots-
But before he can explain to you anything, Mason shows up in front of you.
While walking back to his car, he notices the sound of people talking outside. He thinks he’s recognizing your voice. He must be going insane, he thinks tiredly to himself. But still, he walks towards the sound. Quickly seeing you and Phil sitting together... fucking hell, why are you wearing his jacket?
Before he realizes it himself, he stands before you and his teammate Foden. The chattering stops directly, did he interrupt something? He feels awkward with you and Phil looking at him amusingly. How can he fix this awful situation?
—I uh... I wanted to say bye to you. —Mason said, ignoring the existence of Phil. —I am supposed to bring you home or will Phil...?—He stutters eventually, not wanting to finish his question.
—Wait, Mase, can we talk? —You react before Mason turns around and walks to his car in a rush. He nods.
—Of course.
The silence was sharply awkward.
—Don’t forget your jacket, Foden —Mason quickly says, —she can wear mine while we’re outside.
Phil, who no longer was sitting on the bench, laughed for a bit at his hopeless friend. Then he walks up to you, and takes his own jacket from your shoulders, while Mason quickly takes off his. You give Phil a quick hug to thank him, before getting into Mason's jacket.
—Don’t be an idiot to her —says Phil toward Mason whispering in his ear. You smile shyly, flushing with Phil's comment.
Mason doesn’t know how to watch the interaction between his friend and you. He doesn't know where to look when you turn your attention to him. The white dress quickly grabs his attention once again.
Silently, both of you walk to the parking lot where his fancy Mercedes-AMG was parked. You had always made fun of him because the car was too posh in your opinion, although every time you needed a ride home you always ended up in his car.
Firstly he took the car keys out of his pocket and then he opened your door for you. He had always been a gentleman. The situation is unexpected, yet influenced by the tension that’s been built between you two through the last couple of months.
—So, what do you want to talk about? —Mason asks you. You lasted a few seconds thinking about how to answer his question.
—Why were you ignoring me today? Why didn’t you come up to me and Phil to say hi? —You fire multiple questions at him, —did I do something wrong? Are you upset with me? —Your words cut through the thick air inside the car.
—I thought the two of you were busy with each other. —Mason mutters.
You scoff, this was unbelievable. —That’s bullshit Mase, you know I always make time for you.
—God!, I just wasn’t in the mood to see you two. —He said, elevating his tone, trying to sound casual but deep down, jealousy was gnawing at him like a relentless beast.
You don’t know what to say to Mason. You don’t even know what the boy means. He wasn’t in the mood to see you? Since when could that happen?
—Why? —You barely dare to ask him. You have no choice, so you repeat your last question —why, Mase? —Your eyes start to fill with tears.
Mason sighs, —You won’t get it.
—You don’t know that. Try me.
—I just... I just don’t like seeing you with other boys —he confessed. You doubt for a bit. Should you tell him you were relieved he showed up alone instead of coming with Daphne? You decide not.
—Oh, come on Mason! You can't say that! —You almost shout. Mason's eyes open like plates. You had never raised your voice at him like that, so angry.
—Why not? —He, as well, says almost shouting.
—Because you don't have the right! It's-it's just that you can't say that as if my feelings were so simple... —You tried to calm yourself, you could lost everything now.
—Mason, I've been with you since the beginning and you know that. I'm your biggest supporter and deep inside you know I’ll always cheer for you. I’ve spent my whole girlhood- Fuck. —Tears start scrolling down your delicate face. He looks at you as if you were graceful.
—I wanted to be with you tonight, —you eventually say after a long silence—but you looked at me as if I didn’t matter.
—I know.
You sigh. Can't the boy say anything else? You feel obligated to talk further: —Why aren’t you telling me what’s wrong?
You don't get any answer. Looking at the ceiling of the car, you try to keep your cool.
—You know what? I’m going back to the party. Call me when you can explain at least something. —You want to undo yourself from Mason's warm jacket, but he stops you directly by grabbing your arm.
—I know you deserve to know what’s going on, but I don’t want to lose you. I know it’s a shitty excuse which makes everything even more unclear, but please don’t go back inside. —Mason talks soft and fast —and please keep the jacket on.
—What’s so important about the jacket? —You ask with a small smile, trying to lighten the mood a bit.
—Your dress distracts me and I don’t want to see you in anyone else’s jacket again. —This time he is direct with his words. Almost harsh. You wonder why your dress distracts him. Does he find it ugly?
 —Don’t you like the dress? —You ask.
 —I fucking love the dress. —Mason says. At that moment you feel something clicking. Despite his short explanation, you wonder if Mason may return your feelings.
—Just give me time. Everything is happening so fast and the fact that I'm just realizing that all these years all I've been doing is hurting you makes me go mad angry at myself. —He says, without breathing. —And... I'm sorry. I'm truly sorry for everything I've done, for the countless times I've hurt you. I promise you will have a proper explanation. —He tried to smile, with tears in his eyes.
—That's the Mase I know... —You laugh lightly and Mason just stares at you, sweetly. —Now take me back home, probably my brother is already wasted.
What you didn't know is that that day Mason Mount started falling in love with you.
A few days after you were your house, sat in the cozy familiarity of the your couch while your mother flipped through the pages of a weathered photo album resting on her lap. Each turn of the page revealed a snapshot of your brother's and your past, a journey frozen in time.
—Look! You're wearing my glasses! —Said your mother, with clear emotion in her voice. She turned some pages that had photographs of your childhood: when you were born, your first tooth fell out and many more memories.
Your cheeks flushed with nostalgic warmth, a subtle testament to the innocence and joy captured in each photograph.
Among the sepia-toned memories and faded polaroids, there was a page filled with pictures where Mason and you, both still little children, intertwined in laughter playing in the park.
Your mom pinched your cheek. —Someday you will realize that everything you did was not in vain, on the contrary, it was all worth it. —She stopped to take a breath. —Because golden loves are like that. They stay with you forever.
—How beautiful, mom. —You ironized. She laughed.
—It will, darling... Come here. —And then you hugged her. You hugged her with all your might as you felt her warmth on your face. She giggled, breaking the embrace.
—You'll need a spell to make Mason realize what a fool he is.
—Mom!
A couple days later, you were back at Stamford Bridge once again. As you approach the stadium, you can feel the excitement building. The streets around the stadium eagerly anticipate the game ahead.
Inside the stadium, the dominant colour is blue. The stands are filled with supporters adorned in their team's jerseys, scarves, and signs that say "Pride of London".
—Call her Mason, I’m sure she's in the stands —said Ben, while putting on the new shirt they played in today. Mason held his cell phone, sitting on the bench in the large locker room.
Today was Valentine's Day and Mason had a game. Your brother told Mason he was going out on a date with his girlfriend but you would go in his place, as usual. He didn't know if you were coming, so Mason was nervous, especially with the talk you had in his car.
You had called Debbie in the morning, asking her if you should come to the game, and she told you that Mason would be more than happy to see you there. You wondered if he knew what you were up to if your brother had kept him in the loop.
Pick it up.
Pick it up.
The third tone rang while Ben tried to hold Mason, about to faint from anxiety. In the background, music was blasting from the speakers while the guys on the team began gathering in the locker room for their last talk before the game started.
Reece James leaned closer, curious why his teammate was sitting with his phone in hand, bouncing his leg nervously.
—What has got Mount that nervous? I've never seen him like this —he says to Ben, seated next to Mason, fixing his shoes.
—It's his girlfriend-
—She's not my girlfriend! —Mason interrupted Chilwell, with an expression of fear. You still haven't answered him and the fact that his friends were bothering him added to his anxiety.
—Give me that shit. —Suddenly Kai Havertz appeared out of nowhere, grabbing Mason's phone and putting the call on speaker. Everyone's attention was on the tones ringing, hoping you'll pick up. The team had witnessed your situationship since Mason had joined Chelsea, so they knew you quite well.
—Hi? Mason?
Kai, standing on the bench in the centre of the room, had the phone in his hand so everyone could hear. His eyes widened and his mouth also opened, in surprise. Everyone stood up while Mason's blood pressure went down.
With a jump, Havertz handed the cell phone to his friend so he could answer you. There was a silence between your response and his because his teammates were signalling to him, guiding him in his response.
—Yes? —That was the only thing he could think of at that moment.
—You... you've just called me minutes before your game. Is everything okay? Do you need something? —For you, it was strange that Mason called you, especially right before his game. Mason's teammates melt with your response, you seemed like a worried girlfriend.
—N-no, I was calling to know if you're on Stamford Bridge. —He stuttered, nervous about your answer. You smiled a bit, already seated between the blue tide of fans.
—Of course! I wouldn't miss a game for anything Mase. —And that was the end of him. He said goodbye saying that he had to go out and play and hoped you liked the game, while all his friends were shouting acknowledging that probably by the end of the year, they would have a new addition on their team.
The match ended with Chelsea winning by two goals and the assistance of Mason. You couldn't be more proud of him and after the exhilarating victory at Stamford Bridge, you made your way to the cooldown room, where players and staff often gather to unwind after the match.
As you entered, you spotted Mason, the hero of the game with his crucial assist. A sense of pride swelled within you as you approached him. He was putting something in his backpack, distracted.
—Incredible game out there, —you said, startling Mason. He turned with a smile, recognizing your voice without seeing your face.
—Thanks, this means a lot to me... —Mason replied, his face beaming with satisfaction. You both exchanged a few more words about the match, sharing our favourite moments and the atmosphere at the stadium. Then, out of the blue, Mason's tone turned slightly more serious.
—You know... —he said, pausing for a moment. —I've been thinking. We've been through so much together, your support has meant a lot to me.
You nodded, feeling a sense of tenderness with him. Mason took a deep breath before continuing. —Listen, I was wondering if you'd like to grab dinner later. Just to say thanks for always being there, you know?
Surprised by the unexpected invitation, you couldn't help but smile. —I'd be honoured to join you. —You said, laughing out of nervousness.
A couple hours later, Mason kept his hand on your lower back as he led you through the restaurant, your body settled into his side. His hand slid around your waist while opening the door, a shiver already wracking your body. You gasped at the white snow starting to lay outside, thick flakes slowly falling from the sky.
—Look there! Mase, it's snowing! —You tugged a little on Mason's hand on your waist, the heat replacing the cold feeling on your fingers. There was already a pretty thick layer on the ground and you wondered briefly how long it had been snowing. —It's so pretty.
Mason watched your smile widen when he was paying the bill, as you tilted your head back, eyes squinting as the flakes cascaded down. He'd never seen anyone get so excited over snow.
You looked so good under the twinkling lights, the candle in the middle of the table illuminating half of your face. He was having an amazing time, already realizing he mad in love with you.
From the way you keep your hair in a messy ponytail to the way you are surprised by the snow. Everything about you was perfect for him.
—Do you want to go for a walk before I take you home? —He slid his hand over your jaw, his thumb stroking away the little flake on your cheek. You gave a small nod, flushed since all of this was new for you. He grinned before stepping back and holding his hand out to you.
—M'lady?
You looped your arm through his and the two of you started off down the street, his gaze darting between you and the falling snow. You snuggle as close as possible to him to steal some of his natural body heat.
Snow was falling and settling into Mason’s hair, individual flakes dropping onto his eyelashes and you were certain he’d never looked prettier.
—Remember the time I tried to sneak out and you caught me? That time I was actually grounded for fighting with my brother and I wanted to buy the new console game you were so interested in. —You said, recalling those silly things.
He didn't know if his cheeks were flushed pink from the cold or from what you'd just said.
—But that game was so expensive!
—I know! I just wanted to give you something for your birthday. That's why I didn't have any presents for you at your birthday party.
Mason caught your gaze, head cocking curiously at the sudden shy look that had taken over your features. You let your eyes wander from him to the snow-filled street around you. You slowed to a stop, right against the barriers of the little lake and you leant against it, the two of you facing each other, your hand still clasped in his.
All you wanted was to grab him and kiss him, you didn’t care who saw or if you got a cold, you just wanted to kiss him in the snow.
After a silence, he said: —You know I want you, right?
You looked at him. Surprised. Self-conscious Scared. But above all, in love.
—I've been thinking and I can't help falling for you now. I’m not jealous because you have other people in your life, I’m not a fucking kid. That time with Phil, at the party, made me realize that I want you with me... By my side. I want to be the one you say 'I love you' to, I want to be the one that cuddles you, that-
You interrupted him. —Mase, I… I don’t know how to say this… —Voice uncertain as you watched for his reaction, for any flicker of emotion that stated he didn't want that.
His face fell, and he retracted his hands from the barriers that before were trapping you between his body and the barriers. Ready for rejection, he looked into your eyes.
—I… I like you too. —You looked down, feigning sadness. When you looked up, he was squinting at you. —I don't know how are you convincing my brother you're good enough for me...
—I'd probably invite him to one of my games and we could go for dinner after the game? I'll book somewhere for us. —You matched his smile with a nod, shoulders relaxing slightly after the confession as you pulled your hand from his so you could settle your arms around his neck instead.
—Sounds amazing. Deep inside he's a West Ham fan, y'know. — Mason's face contorted a little when he bumped his nose against yours, lips lightly brushing together.
—Oh shut up, —he muttered into your lips, —let me kiss you.
And you obeyed, your hands resting nervously at his neck as he ravished you, his tongue begging for entrance. You allowed it, moaning into his lips as they intertwined perfectly. His hands travelled from your hair to your waist where he pushed you closer to him.
You indeed had waited your whole life for this.

Just slipped
Leah Williamson x aus!reader
Tumblr media
Ok most of this fic is just reader being a proud Matilda so whoops
Anyways enjoy!!
————————————————————————
Your threw your head back with a loud groan when Alessia slotted the ball into the back of the net, right past your sister. With four minutes left plus extra time, you were two points down and chances of getting to grand final for your country were quickly slipping through your fingers. You felt like tears could nearly start streaming down your face. But you took a large deep breath and patted Caitlin on the back, insisting you both keep your head in the game in these last moments and slot a goal in.
You were running around like a crazy woman, Your head was spinning, your heart had shattered, Tony was trying to yell something at you from the sidelines, you could hear the Aussie cheers coming from the sidelines. All of this should have encouraged you, but it made you want to ball your eyes out right there. You had let your country down. It felt like 1 hour later when the final whistle blew. You heard the screams and cheers of the English team erupt as you completely collapsed onto the pitch, you kneeled down and held your face in your hands.
You felt a presence come and pull your back up slightly so you could rest against them, it was a black jersey so you know it was your sister Mac.
“So so proud” she reassured you. You laid in her arms sobbing in her shoulder. Caitlin came over not even a minute later and you held each other. You didn’t realise the loss would hit you like a sack of rocks but it did.
Over Caitlin’s shoulder you looked at the large screen surrounding the fans. You bet your face was up there, bloodshot after crying. As you tucked your face further into Caitlin’s shoulder before you both got up and went to your other teammates. “I’m proud of you Caitlin” you said as you walked together.
“Thanks y/n, more proud of you, always” she said calmly.
You held Hayley close as the teary eyed girl held steady breaths on your shoulder.
You and your teammates soon found yourselves walking to the family section. Leah was invited onto the pitch at the end, after watching the match with your family and her brother, to quickly celebrate with her English team that she currently wasn’t playing with. She quickly jogged over to you when she saw you looking for her in the family section.
She lightly pulled at your hand when she made it to you. Her heart reaching at the lost and heartbroken look on your face. You turned to face her as she pulled you in close. You needed her most right now. Even if her country just beat yours and was heading to your biggest dream ; Australian World Cup final.
You found yourself tearing up again. “Oh my girl. My girl. You ran your heart out I watched every second and your every movement. You made me so proud. You made your teammates so proud. Your family and Australia. I love you I love you” she softly said to you as you let the tears fall even more.
“Thank you” you muffled trying to steady your breaths. You pulled away and turned towards the rest of your family. You saw Leah’s brother first and went to hug him, Leah hopping back over to the other side of the barricade. You saw Mackenzie pull away from your mum as you soon enough latched yourself onto her. Then your dad. And everyone else who took their time to come watch.
It felt like seconds later when you had already done your rounds of the stadium and were heading back into the locker room.
You walked in and saw a team huddle slowly start to form. You didn’t tucked in between Charli and Kyra as they quickly opened the space so you could shuffle in. Pulled them both in close and kissed both the younger girl’s cheeks.
You all listened to Sam with pride. Though All bummed about the result. But this wasn’t just the end. And the impact you had made on the nation was even bigger here.
You pulled Kyra into a long hug. Before you pulled away and saw that one cheeky grin on her face, she quickly grabbed her stuff before you already had your stuff in your hands. You started to sprint towards the showers before she did too, she shoved you fast against the bathroom door so you couldn’t get the last one. She quickly ran in and slammed the door, poking her tongue out and scrunching her nose at you.
“Fuck you” you mumbled with a smile, leaning against the wall waiting for another one of your friends to be quick in their shower. You pulled out your phone and spotted a text from Leah.
Leah❤️

Alanna came out of one of the small shower rooms with her hair out and wet from the wash. You smiled at her as you walked in after her.
After washing your hair and leaning against the shower wall as the hot water streamed down your face, you finally turned off the shower and changed into some black sweat pants that were Leah’s and your Matilda’s puffer jacket.
Everyone was gathering their things and got onto the bus. “Hey” you said softly as you sat down next to Caitlin. Your sister and Alanna across from you. She smiled at you as you sat down, she immediately let her head rest in the crook of your neck, the full 90 minutes getting the best of her.
Once back at your hotel room you quickly called Leah “hey I’m back” you said softly once she picked up the phone.
“In coming” she very quickly replied before you heard a hanging up sound.
You were only laying in your bed again for a few more minutes before you heard a knock on your door. Leah was able to come over to your hotel room without being noticed by staff since you booked Leah’s accomodation for this week at the same hotel you were at.
“Hello you” she smiled softly as you opened the door for her to come in.
She enfolded you in a big hug and guided you both to lay down on the bed, still in each others arms. You were still down after tonight,
“How’s the girls?” You asked, noting towards the team that defeated you tonight, Leah’s team. Most of the girls were some of your best friends, so you were still happy for them slightly.
“Yeah they’re pretty glad. But now just really focused on the next game. That’s what I want of you. You should be so happy of your efforts, and also focusing on getting those points for the third place spot” she said facing down at you in her arms, the captain and mature attitude coming out. Which you always appreciated.
“I know and you’re right” you said snuggling closer into her. You both stayed like that as it kept on running through your head.
Every video for the Matilda’s media filmed, all those documentary scenes, all those pre-match discussions with the team, all those dreams, all those moments that you talked about winning the World Cup 2024. Completely. Crushed.
It brought you back to that feeling as the final whistle blew as you felt your eyes start to water again. You let everyone down. Your promised your country you would get there and you didn’t.
“I can’t believe this. We were so close and we just slipped at the end”
“No no baby it’s ok” Leah said with worry, after she felt a few tears drip onto her hoodie. “Oh my girl I’m so proud of you tonight. I know it’s annoying me saying that a million times . But you made so many young girls happy tonight around Australia, I saw about 5 young boys even with your last name on the back of their jersey. Think about this impact. You’re so incredible with what you do, and everyone knows it. I love you” she said calming you down. It did feel like to Leah she was running out of words and was just repeating the same words all night. But it really really meant the world to you.
“Will you stay?” You quietly asked from laying on top of her. “ I mean if your up early and quick enough we can get you back quickly to your hotel room and I can get back quickly enough to get to breakfast”
“Say quickly one more time” she chuckled. “And of course I will. Come on you then your boy sleeping in a puffer jacket next to me missy” she motioned for you to get up so you could get into a comfier top for bed.
“Also. Thanks for coming out to watch the tournament. I mean you watching England’s matches makes sense but making the time to fly for mine means the world to me. You’re the best wag I could have ever asked for” you giggled at the last part.
“Ok so was captain of her national team but no now she’s the best wag ok ok” she laughed letting go of your hand. As you quickly pulled it back to your waist and cuddled close to her. “And of course I’ve come to you out games I wouldn’t miss this for the world”
You grinned at her before you eyelids became to heavy to keep them open any longer.

Tony Bramwell on John
- People gravitated toward John
- John was okay, considered crazy maybe, but not violent. [...] “If you hang out with that John Lennon,” mums—including mine—would warn their sons, “you’ll get into trouble!”
- He was the rebel we longed to be.
- At a young age John saw and heard things that nobody else did. Voices in his head and faces reflected in mirrors would talk to him.
- He was a born leader, a wild, yet charismatic boy
- You never knew if he was telling the truth, and it didn’t much matter. He was simply mesmerizing.
- In later years when we grew close, John told me how he used to think he was going crazy. At home he said he would gaze into the mirror and ask when he would become rich and famous. “Soon John, soon,” the mirror would seductively reply.
- The visions were huge and all-encompassing and instilled in John the absolute conviction of his own greatness. He often said he was different from the rest of us—probably from another planet.
- I used to sometimes see him staring into the mirror in dressing rooms [...] the other lads would preen and fix their hair without thought, like we all did, but John would seem to go into a trance.
- He was like the Fonz before the Fonz existed.
- He could well have been psychic, or even the genius he was later thought to be, but to adults he was always just a pain in the arse
- He portrayed himself as a natural rebel, but I think he was quite unhappy
- In fact, you could never really get close to John. Even when he was talking to you there was always a sense of isolation
- There was something about the way John looked and stood and even walked that spelled sex and trouble
- he dressed like [the Teds], but didn’t live the life or fight the fights. He just walked the walk. They also despised the fact that he came from a middle-class home and went to a grammar school, while they were genuinely tough working-class navvys
- He was funny, as well as being irreverent and totally insecure
- Despite being a brilliant songwriter, John wasn’t as deep as people thought he was, but he was an original
- John was a notoriously lousy drinker. Two of anything was his limit, but he always demanded large Scotches and Coke.
- [John] was the first to start worrying about money. The more they had, the more he worried it would suddenly vanish
- People deferred to John because he looked the peacenik part. He was shortsighted and wore glasses, which made him look political and academic. He looked concerned. He probably was concerned. He looked deep, but he was not Socrates

So I don't know if you've seen spy kids 3, but basically there's a scene where the mum has to go on a mission with her baby because she has no baby sitter and she just carries her in a baby carrier. The scene is low-key badass. Anyway, I was wondering if you could do something like that for winterwidows daughter. Like they have no one to babysit her and she has to go on the mission with her parents.
P.S. I love your work.
Family Mission
WinterWidow x Daughter!Reader
Summary: Natasha and Bucky have no babysitter for you so they have no choice but to bring you on a mission to take down a HYDRA base.
A/N: Thank you for all the support on my work! It really means a lot to me that others enjoy reading it. It was my one year posting on tumblr a couple days ago, happy late tumblr birthday to me!
———
The morning sun filtered through the Avengers kitchen, casting a warm glow around the room where Bucky was finishing his coffee. Natasha, who was already dressed in her black tactical suit, was adjusting the baby carrier strapped to her chest, inside the carrier was you, gazing up at your mother with wide, curious eyes, cooing softly.
Bucky approached the two of you, his metal arm glinting in the sunlight. "Are you sure about this, Nat? Bringing Y/N along on a mission?"
Natasha gave him a reassuring smile. "We don't have much choice, do we? We can’t just keep her here by herself. Besides she’ll be looking at me the whole time."
Bucky leaned down to kiss you on the forehead. "Alright, we’ll keep her safe."
———
You all quickly boarded the Quinjet, where Tony was pacing the floor. Steve and Clint were gathered around a large holographic display of their mission target: a HYDRA base nestled in the Siberian wilderness.
Tony glanced up as Bucky and Natasha entered, you looked over to Tony with your little legs swinging in the carrier. "Well, look who's here. And they brought a little guest." His tone was a mix of amusement and surprise.
Steve raised an eyebrow. "Y/N? Are you sure about this?"
"We don't have a babysitter," Natasha said with a hint of defiance. "We'll manage."
You were secured in your carrier, staring at the flashing lights and buttons inside the jet, your tiny hands reaching out to grab at the air. Natasha couldn't help but smile at your innocence. Bucky sat beside the two of you, keeping a watchful eye on both his family and the surroundings.
The Quinjet hummed as it sliced through the sky, descending towards the snow-covered landscape of Siberia. As they approached the drop zone, Tony ran through the plan one last time. "Alright, Natasha, Bucky, you're with me. Clint, Steve, Thor, you take the north entrance."
The team split into their assigned groups. Natasha and Bucky, with you securely strapped to Natasha's chest, moved stealthily through the forest. The snow crunched softly under their boots as they approached the base's southern entrance.
You played with the little beanie on your head, giggling quietly as you touched the fuzzy pom-pom. Natasha looked down and smiled at your happy mood, though her face had a hint of worry.
The team were able to hack into the security system, disabling the cameras and unlocking the doors.
"We're in," Steve whispered through the comms.
"Okay, Malyshka," Natasha whispered, adjusting the sound-dampening headphones over your little ears. "Time to be a good girl for Mama and Daddy."
You giggled and waved your tiny hands around as if you were part of the mission. You had no idea what was going on but you liked going on an adventure with your parents.
The three of you slipped into the shadows, Bucky’s eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of movement. Natasha moved silently, her skills honed from years of time in the Red Room. Your presence, surprisingly, didn’t hinder her. Instead, it seemed to sharpen her focus, giving her a greater purpose which was to keep you safe.
Inside the base, the corridors were eerily quiet while dimly lit. The team had done their job well, creating diversions and taking out patrols. Bucky and Natasha moved methodically, their silent communication seamless.
"You're enjoying this, aren't you?" Natasha whispered to you, her lips curving into a smile.
As the central control room became closer into view, you began to babble softly, your eyes wide with curiosity. Natasha glanced down and smiled. "Almost there, Dorogoy," she whispered.
Bucky placed a small charge on the door, and they waited for the soft beep indicating it was ready. With a nod, the door blew open, and they rushed inside.
Alarms blared throughout the base. HYDRA reinforcements were closing in fast. Natasha and Bucky moved swiftly, taking down enemies with a coordinated dance of skill and precision. You in your carrier, just watched Natasha with a smile on your little face, your tiny hands clapping at the flashes of movement, oblivious to the danger.
With the last of the Hydra agents taken down, Natasha and Bucky quickly began gathering data from the computers. Steve’s voice crackled over the comms. "Status?"
"All clear," Natasha replied, her fingers flying over the keyboard. "We’ve got the data."
Navigating through the maze of corridors, they reached the exit quickly and ran back into the snowy forest.
“Mama!” You giggled, your little fingers tangled in her hair as flakes of snow hit your little pink cheeks.
Natasha laughed and kissed your head. “You did your first mission! You did so well!”
———
Back on the Quinjet, as they soared towards home, Natasha leaned back in her seat, exhausted but relieved. You, now sleepy, nestled against your mother's chest, your tiny hand gripping Natasha's suit.
"You did great today, baby," Natasha whispered, kissing the top of your head.
You babbled sleepily and closed your eyes, now feeling all warm in safe in Natasha’s arms. You loved the little adventure you had today.

✨Toni~✨
I come with an idea. I need more FWB! Simon. I need angst, I need to suffer from this man, I know he would do us so dirty.
Like imagine since the both of him and reader are non exclusive, but reader gets knocked up. She's panicking because she's on birth control, trying to figure out who she slept with last and it's HIM-
And maybe, just maybe the last time they slept together, they had a fight. Because this Mansss decided to leave us after an argument, because he had another 'appointment'.
So yeah know, now we got to tell this dick we're knocked up. And I don't know you can go from there, if you don't like this idea, delete it ignore it.🫠
BUT ANGST.
Thank you for your time, I love you Toni you rock like always! 💓
oh, so dirty.
esp if i use the fwb simon from the (platonic) cbf johnny au i got.
Johnny held your hand as you waited the 5 minutes for the results of the pregnancy test.
"What am I gonna do if it's positive, Johnny? I can't...I'm not ready to be a mum!" you sniffled and took in a shuddered breath. "What are the chances that I'm the 1%?"
His expression was solemn, thin lips set in a firm line. "Ye finally gonna tell me tha' the father is Simon or do ye wish to continue playin' yer little game?" Johnny rasped.
You rest your head on his shoulder and tiredly close your eyes.
"Was hoping I'd never have to tell you. It was supposed to be just a quick knocking of boots and then we both went my merry, his miserable, ways. But as per usual, I'm just dogged by misfortune."
The wait for the timer to ring had your heart slamming against your ribcage. The prospect of birthing a child you never even thought about having had bile rising up to your throat, leaving an acrid taste on your tongue.
You start at the piercing ring of the timer but don't move to get up.
Johnny, forever your hero, is the one who bites the bullet for you.
He gently flips over the stick, stares at it for a second, then drags a hand down his face. He also doesn't look at you as he utters, "So are ye gonna tell 'em?"
You hastily crawl over to the toilet bowl and empty your stomach.
Pregnant.
--
You told Johnny everything. How it started that one night when he had been over here for drinks, and you had put Johnny to bed because he'd gotten to sloshed, to propositioning him and then the weekly hook ups.
Well, almost everything. He didn't need to know that you gave Simon a sloppy toppy in his kitchen while he snored away that same night you asked him to fuck you.
And then how it finally ended. Simon getting redressed at witching hour because some other tart called him to go over. (your thighs had still been wet from his spend at that time)
So you had called him an unpaid whore; A worthless piece of meat— good for nothing other than cock— and told him that if he leaves, you and he are done.
He had huffed out a laugh, grabbed his motorcycle helmet off your dinner table, and walked out the door without a backward glance.
Johnny hadn't said a word the entire time, but then again, he didn't have to. His countenance said it all.
Disappointment.
He looked so devastatingly disappointed that your eyes welled with tears in seconds and spilled— one fat drop after the other until he pulled you into his arms and held you as you wept, your grief and anguish visceral.
--
"Ye've gotta tell him, bonnie. He has the right to ken."
You let out an aggrieved sigh. Again, with this. "No. He hasn't texted in weeks. Clearly, Simon doesn't give a damn about me. 'Sides, we don't need him when you're around."
A wave of dizzying nausea slams into you, and your world beings to tilt on its axis.
"Don't feel so good, Johnny, I think I need to sit down."
Strong arms catch you as your body crumples and everything goes dark.
--
You rouse from your sleep and find yourself in Johnny's bed with a sharp pounding in your head. Groaning, you turn over to your side and press your fingers into your temples— hoping to alleviate some of the pain when your phone's screen lights up.
Simon's calling.
Goddamnit Johnny. Bloody nosy parker.
You decline it and wait for his text. He's always hated when you ignored his calls on purpose.
And there it is.
Where you ever gonna tell me?
Nothing you need to know about.
No? I thought you were on birth control.
We don't need you.
That mean you're keepin' it?
My baby? Yes, obviously.
Our. Stay at Johnny's, I'm coming over.
No, no. Stay at your girl's house. We'll be just fine without you.
Cute. I'll see you in 10.
(lowkey wondering how he would react if you told him it's johnny's. lol)

Friends, lovers... and an orange | Chapter 1
Summary: Since the day Adele was born, people had told her she was destined to fall in love with Mason. Their mothers, supermodels Elizabeth Turlingon and Toni Mount, had been best friends since they were teenagers, and according to everyone, it just meant to be. But after 25 years, nothing of the sort had happened. Nothing, until some photos and a big secret changed it all.
Author’s note: And after almost two years since I started writing this story... it is finally live! 😅 You are lucky my perfectionist self doesn't allow me to post anything that isn't finished, because you would have have been waiting for an ending for ages, and I hate that 🙈 This is a friends to lovers story inspired by all those conspiracy theories about a couple not being able to be together because their evil management team don't allow them to, but with a twist. I hope you like it, and as always, thank you for reading! 💜

Elizabeth Turlington and Antonia "Toni" Mount had been two of the most famous models in the 90's. They both got to be on Vogue covers all over the world, walked for the best designers, and became the face of the most important brands in fashion. They were, what you call, supermodels.
Best friends since they met during a casting when they were just 16 years old, Elizabeth and Toni became inseparable, and their private lives kind of followed the same path. They both got engaged and married the same year, and their first kids were born just a few months apart. First Mason, in January, and then Adele in July.
The media had gone crazy about it, saying that they were going to fall in love and get married because they were destined to be together due to their mothers being best friends. But almost 25 years later, nothing like that had really happened.
Mason, Toni's son, had decided to follow his mother's steps and become a model. Unlike many others, he had chosen to start from the bottom, doing castings like everyone else. He had wanted to make a career due to his talent and not because of his last name (he had taken his mother’s instead of his father’s as an homage), and he had managed to do it. Mason was now considered one of the most successful male models, his face basically being everywhere. Brands were fighting to have him on their campaigns, all the designers wanted him on their shows, and your party was nothing if he wasn't attending. He was THE one.
Meanwhile, Adele had chosen a quiet life. Everyone had always told her that she had gotten the best of her parents, her mother's looks and her father's brain, but she had never been interested in modeling. She had focused on her studies and going to uni, and the only thing related to that world that she liked was photography, which also was the thing that she and Mason enjoyed doing together the most.
Growing up they weren't super close, they were just... friends. They had never been attached to the hip like people expected them to be. That, had actually been their little brothers' case. But their relationship would completely change every time there was a camera involved.
When Adele turned eleven, her dad gifted her her first proper camera, and Mason was as fascinated by it as she was. They spent the day learning how to use it, and after getting the hang of it, their days would consist in going outside and taking photos of each other or anything they saw. A tree, a rock, the sunset... It didn't matter. They would be gone for hours, though for them time flew by.
As they grew older and busy with their own lives, they started to see each other less often, but the couple of weeks in the summer they spent together with their families were a must, and both of them would bring their cameras and go out to explore.
"These photos are stunning, Adele" Toni said.
"Thank you" she smiled.
"What about mine?" Mason asked.
"Lovely too, darling. But she has something you don't have."
"Thank you, mum" he said, rolling his eyes. "Though I agree. Addie here is the talented one."
"Thank you" she replied, Mason putting an arm around her shoulders and hugging her.
Addie. That had been his nickname for her since they were kids, and everyone else in their families had picked it too. Addie and Mase, something you could still see carved on a tree in her grandmother's garden. They were twelve when they did it, and she almost killed them when she saw it.
"You know, I've been thinking and... Why don't you take the photos for my 50th birthday party?" Toni said. "I was looking for someone, but why pay a stranger when I have you?"
"That's a wonderful idea!" Elizabeth said. "Now you won't have an excuse to not attend."
"You weren't coming?"
"I... I'm just busy with..." Adele mumbled.
"With nothing. You just finished your degree and still don't know what to do next" her mum said. "She'll be there."
"Wonderful!" Toni smiled.
"It'll be a small thing, you will be fine" Mason said. "And if you need help to run away or hide, you can always count on me" he winked.
"Thank you, Mase" Adele smiled.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
Flashforward to Toni's birthday party. The small thing, wasn't small. At all. Adele had already taken photos of over fifty people and more were arriving, and by the time she was done with the photocall, her memory card was full.
"How is it going?"
"Shit, Mase. You scared me" she laughed.
"Sorry" he smiled, that cute dimple of his showing.
"I'm lucky I brought several memory cards with me. A small thing, you said?"
"Yeah… You know my mum" Mason replied, scratching the back of his head. "Do you want to have a drink or something before going back to it?"
"Sure" Adele said. "Just let me put my camera somewhere safe."
Once they were done with that drink, it was time to go back to work, and she filled two more memory cards before Mason went looking for her again. But she just couldn't stop taking photos of all the guests and what they were wearing, of them dancing, talking, drinking, laughing... They all were captivating.
"Mum wants you with us for the cake."
"What? And who will be taking the photos?" Adele asked.
"I don't know" Mason shrugged. "But she wants you there with us and your parents."
"Ok" she sighed. She hated being in front of the camera unless it was Mason the one behind it. Somehow, he always knew how to make her feel comfortable. "By the way, who was that girl you were talking to earlier?" Adele had been drawn to her the moment they had crossed paths. She had the most beautiful black hair she had ever seen, and after taking a few snaps of her, she saw her talking with Mason. Or flirting, to be more precise.
"We were on a shoot together a couple of weeks ago. She's nice."
"And she fancies you."
"What? Nah. She's just a work colleague, nothing else."
"If you say so... But what about that other girl? The one you were seen with the other day, the singer."
"Addie, are you interrogating me about my love life?" Mason laughed.
"No, I was just... It doesn't matter."
"I'm going on dates but I'm not dating anyone. Got what you wanted?" he smirked.
"That's not why I asked. I…"
"Mason, Adele. C'mon!" her mum called after them. "It's almost cake time!"
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
By the end of the night, Adele had five memory cards full of photos, her feet hurt like hell, and she was slightly tipsy.
"Do you think your mum will mind if I don't have the photos ready right away? I think it will take me days to go through all of them and edit them."
"Yeah, don't worry. Take your time" Mason said while helping her pack her camera. "And if you need an extra pair of hands and eyes, just call me. I'm free for the next few days."
"Thank you, Mase" she smiled.
"Do you want me to accompany you home?"
“There is no need. But if you could wait with me outside until my uber comes..."
"Of course. And we could share it if you don't mind. I'm going back to my place instead of my parents."
"Worried your mum may not allow you to sleep until lunch time?" Adele chuckled.
"Exactly" he smiled.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
"Why is that car taking so long?"
"I wish I knew" Adele yawned.
"Tired?"
"Very" she said, resting her head on Mason's shoulder. "And a bit cold too."
"Come here" he said, putting an arm around her shoulders and pulling her closer to him. It was something he had been doing since they were kids, and it felt natural, familiar… comforting.
"You smell really good tonight. What perfume are you wearing?"
"Can't tell you, it isn't out yet."
"A new campaign?"
"Yep. You'll get tired of seeing my face everywhere.”
"Of seeing your face everywhere again, you mean" Adele teased him. "But congratulations, Mase. A perfume contract is huge!"
"It is, yes. And I'm really proud of this one. I actually helped pick some of the ingredients."
"You did? That's amazing! Let me smell you again."
"Ok" Mason laughed, moving his head so she could do it better.
"Oranges. Of course you had to pick oranges."
"They are my fave, and yours too” he smiled. “And they remind me of that trip to Italy, the one where we ate the best pizza ever at the beach."
"Oh my God, that pizza was so good… Now you are making me hungry!”
"Maybe we could stop to eat some on our way home. If the uber ever..."
"There it is" Adele chuckled when the car stopped in front of them. "Should we stop at Giorgio's?"
"You know the way to my heart, Addie" Mason smiled while opening the car's door for her.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
"Addie… Addie, wake up. Ad… Adele!"
"What" she mumbled, slowly opening her eyes.
"Something has happened, Addie. Look" her friend Jourdan said, literally putting her phone in her nose.
"I'm not that blind, you know" she complained while picking it. "What is this?"
"This was published this morning. Is... Is it true? Did you...?"
"Did I..." she said, her eyes finally adjusting to the light and being able to read what was on the screen. "Mason Mount and Adele Turlington caught kissing! The couple was seen outside Toni Mount's birthday party sharing confidences, laughing and getting cosy before leaving together in the same car." "What the fuck?"
"Addie, are you dating Mason? I thought you didn't like him like that" Jourdan said.
"What? No! I'm not dating him and I didn't kiss him!"
"Then why does it totally look like it?"
"It was the angle! I was just smelling his neck!"
"You what?" her friend laughed.
"It's a long story. But I didn't kiss him!"
"Well, the whole world thinks you did. And people are going nuts about it."
"Wonderful. That's just wonderful" Adele sighed.
Knowing how much people wanted them to be together, she and Mason had always been careful around each other to try to not start any rumours. But that night, they had let their guard down, the idea that there could be paparazzis still waiting outside never crossing their minds. And now, what they had always feared, could have started.

"We'll be okay" \\ steph catley x reader
Tumblr media
Apologies in advance, this is a long and very sad one 🫣
TW: death, kind of depression?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's the phone call that no one wants to receive. You were playing Mario Kart with Steph, Charli, Katrina and Harper in the common room, when your phone started to ring. You move off of your comfortable position on top of Steph to see it's an unknown number. You usually don't answer these numbers but your heart is telling you to.
You answer the call and you see Steph give Katrina the remote so she can check if everything is okay. You listen to what the person on the phone tells you and you hang up afterwards. Katrina now pauses the game and her and Charli look between you and Steph to see what happened.
Steph can see that something bad had happened as you haven't moved. It was the same behaviour your were showing when your grandma had passed away. Steph mumbles to Charli and Katrina to go get Mackenzie. They both scurried off with Harper in Charli's arms so you and Steph were alone now.
Steph hurried over to you and wrapped you in her arms so you feel safe. You mentioned to Steph when you first started dating that this was your happy place. 6 years later and it is still your favourite place to be.
You feel numb.
Like your whole world has just crashed in a minute phone call.
You feel so numb that you can't even cry.
Steph mumbles to you that you don't have to tell her what happened straight away, only when you're ready and that she's there for you whenever you need. Steph moves you both over to a couch in the corner where you cuddle up on your girl a little tighter.
"They died" Steph's heart breaks at the two words you just spoke. Tears immediately threatening to fall from her eyes as she is just as close to your family as she is to hers.
"Oh baby, I'm so sorry" Steph kisses your temple and holds just that little bit tighter.
"Y/N? Stephy?" You both hear Mackenzie call out as she runs into the room.
"Over here Mac" Steph says and Mackenzie runs over to the couch where you and Steph are laying. You breath out a Mackenzie sits in front of you both on the floor and grabs one of your hands.
"Whatever happened, you know the whole team are behind you. Especially Steph and I" You nod and show her a sad smile.
You all sit in silence until you decide to tell them both who exactly has died.
"Mum and dad died. They were driving up for the game tomorrow and a truck hit-"
That's when you break. Tears start flowing out of all your eyes, yours more than the girls. What you don't hear is Sam's loud laughs and Caitlin's bad jokes start pour into the room before Mackenzie and Steph shooed them away with an 'we'll explain later' face.
You and Mackenzie hold hands as Mackenzie and you have been best friends since birth, both of your parents are like her second parents and vice versa.
Steph only asked your dad for his blessing just before the tournament began. And now he can’t walk you down the aisle.
After a while, Tony comes into the room and offers his sympathy. He also mentions that if you want to sit out of the next game, he completely understands given the circumstances. You wipe your tears and say you’ll play without a stutter or tear fall down your cheek.
You have to make your parents proud.
As Tony keeps talking to you, you see Ellie and Mary poke their hands around the corner. You wave them in and the rest of the team follows. All the girls give you sad smiles and a few of your best friends like Sam and Caitlin, give you tight hugs. You look at all the girls sitting around you then up at Steph. She gives you a small smile and nod and you take a deep breath, even though you feel like you might vomit.
“So um, I got a call uh” you pause for a moment and look at Steph as to say “I can’t say it”.
“Do you want me to?” She asks and you nod as she pulls you back in her arms.
“Y/n’s parents were driving up here for the game tomorrow when they got into a truck crash and sadly passed away”
You could hear the gasps and see your friends look at each other in disbelief. All the girls decide to give you some privacy, so they give you the biggest hug they all can before going back to their rooms.
Mackenzie says she going to call her mum to see if she knows and that she’ll come by later to check up. You stand up and give her a long and tight hug which may have resulted in you crying on her shirt a little. You both pull away and Steph wraps her arm around your your waist, guiding you to your shared room.
Once in the room, Steph pulls back the covers on the bed and insists on giving you your safe place. She gets in first and after you change, you crawl into the defenders arms. Your head stays on Steph’s chest, feeling it move as she inhaled and exhales but also hearing her heart beat steady. All the crying and thinking gave you a massive headache so you decide to nap.
“Hey Stephy”
“Yeah baby?” She replies.
“Thank you for everything. I don’t tell you that enough”
“Oh my love, you show me in many different ways. Now, is there anything I can do?”
“Tell Mac I’m asleep” you say as your eyes flutter closed.
“Anything my girl, anything you want”
Steph quickly texts Mackenzie an update on you and gives you a soft kiss on your head as you fall into a deep sleep.
The next day comes around and you wake up to several texts and missed calls from your family and friends. You see your Matilda’s group chat blowing up with many messages from you teammates saying all the same things. ‘If you need anything at all, let us know ❤️’ and ‘we are here for you, always xx’.
You look behind you and see your sleeping beauty looking so peaceful. You move a piece of hair out of Steph’s face before you give her a light kiss on her cheek. You carefully move out of bed and Steph’s arms before walking into the bathroom for a long, hot shower to wash away yesterday. You turn the shower on and wait for it to heat up. You undress and look at yourself in the mirror.
Eyes puffy, cheeks red and hair in a mess.
How Steph finds you attractive is beyond you but you’ll never take it for granted. You notice the bathroom has filled up with steam so you hop into the shower and that’s when you breakdown. You don’t know how long you are standing under the water for but you know you can’t distinguish your tears from the drops of water from the shower. You feel arms snake around your waist and a kiss on your shoulder.
“How are you feeling baby?” Steph asks.
“I think it’s just sinking in now. I’m okay”
Steph turns you around and gives you a tight hug under the water and you rest your chin on her shoulder. You both wash each other and eventually get out. You both get changed into you match day outfits and head downstairs for breakfast.
Hand in hand, you and Steph walk towards the elevator where you see Sam, Mackenzie and Katrina with Harper waiting for the elevator. Harper spots you and wiggles in her mums hold. Katrina lets her down and Harper’s little legs run over to you. You envelope the nearly 2 year old in your arms and press a magnitude of kisses to her face. You put on a brave face in front of Harper but everyone knows it’s a mask. You all eventually get to the meal / meeting room and sit at the empty table. Steph mentions she’ll get your food so you can stay with Harper and you give her a kiss as a thank you. Katrina comes back with pancakes for Harper and the little girl has never jumped off your lap and gone to her mum quicker in her little life. You laugh at the action and you see Steph struggling to bring everything over. You rush over to get the two coffees before they fall and make a mess.
“Thanks babe” you give her a smile and set the coffees down.
As you all are eating, Tony runs through the game plan and you can’t stop fidgeting. One more pick at your nails and you won’t have any skin left around them. Steph notices you unfocused and looks down to see your fingers moving around quickly. She leans over and intertwines her hand with yours. You look at her and smile, as to say thank you. You regain your focus and realise Tony is about to announce the starting line up. You feel three squeezes on your hand and Steph gives you a smile, the same one you fell in love with.
“…and leading us from the front, Y/N and Sam”
You lock eyes with Sam and give her a little nod that says ‘we’ve got this’. You all get organised to go on your game day walk when you feel a hand on your shoulder. You turn around to see Mackenzie with a sad smile on her face.
“Just checkin’ up. Are you okay?”
“I’m fine Mac, just focused on the game. How are you? How are you parents?” You ask, making a mental note to see them after the game.
“I’m okay, getting there. They’re going to be okay, I think? I think seeing us both tonight will help” you nod and start to walk with her on one side and Steph on the other.
Fast forward a few hours to the game and you slip your socks on before writing ‘M❤️D’ on both boots. You put some black tape around the end of your sleeve when Steph helps you before putting it on her own sleeve. You look at her confused and she kisses you on the cheek softly.
“We’re a team. Not just here. I’m going to support you no matter what” your eyes watered when someone else spoke up.
“Me too!”
“Yeah me as well!”
You smile at your girls and they all put the black tape either on their wrists or on the end of their sleeves like you. You get Steph to write ‘mum and dad ❤️’ on your arm before you put their initials on her own.
You sit back down at your cubby and put your head in your hands. Tears were falling down your cheeks and everyone was watching with sad smiles, Steph and Mackenzie had a few tears in their eyes. Everyone wanted to give you some space and you were glad they did. You get up and walk around the corner to the sink and splashed a few handfuls of water. You must of been there for a while because you feel familiar hands around your waist and you turn to see Steph.
“Come on, time to make your parents proud” Steph says with a smile while she holds out her hand.
You grab Steph’s hand and pull her back into you, leaving a bruising kiss on her lips. When you two seperate, she looks at you with a confused look and you just wink before walking out.
You both are the last to walk out to Brisbane stadium and the crowd goes wild. In their eyes, you’re their hometown hero and they don’t let you forget it. You plaster a smile on your face and give the crowd a wave. After smashing out the drills, the game was ready to begin.
Disappointed that no one scored in normal and extra time, you know what’s next and you hate them.
Penalties.
You walk up to Mackenzie and she says she’s gonna do this for your parents. You give her a kiss on her forehead and push her over to the huddle. Tony quickly tells you the order and you are number ten. Steph grabs your hand and squeezes it three times like before. You smile at her and lean on her shoulder as Sam gives you all a pep talk.
After some brilliant saves by Macca which caused you to nearly lose your voice, some misses and most going in, it was your turn.
This is it.
Convert or go home.
You begin to walk up to the spot and meet Mackenzie half way. She whispers to you that you have this in the bag. You put the ball on the spot and take a deep breath. You kiss the tape on your arm before preparing for your kick. You exhale and take a few steps back. You look up to the sky before doing your run up and you kick the ball.
You hear the crowd and see the ball in the back of the net and you sprint to Steph, jumping in her arms. The rest of the team dog pile on you all and eventually get off after the celebrations. You fall to your knees and cover your hands over your face. You hear voices next to you and you feel a gloved hand on your back and you look up to see Mackenzie and Steph kneeling in front of you.
One of the team officials comes over and says you need to do an interview and you internally groan but agree, like you have a choice. You see the interviewer is Emily Gielnik and you relax a little.
“Y/N congratulations and what a beautiful penalty. One question on everyone’s mind is the black armbands everyone is where tonight. Can you explain what that is?” Emily gives you a ‘sorry’ look afterwards as there are better questions to ask.
“I got news yesterday that my parents passed away driving up to the game. I started putting the tape on and then everyone wanted to as well. The girls have shown me a lot of support and I know they will continue to as it all starts to sink in”
What you don’t see is Steph and Mackenzie behind the camera listening to it all and how you have to announce it to everyone. When you finish the interview, Emily gives you a long hug and tells you to call or text her if you need anything.
You look behind her and see Steph waiting with open arms. You walk straight into them and she hugs you tightly, not wanting to let you go. She whispers sweet nothings into your ear and she feels you smile in her neck. You pull away and she wipes your tears before kissing your cheek.
“I’m going to go sit on the bench, you go celebrate with everyone”
Steph resisted leaving you but Caitlin came to your rescue and took Steph away. Steph looks over her shoulder and gives you worried eyes. You mouth to you that you’re okay and she relaxes a little.
You walk to the bench, hugging multiple staff and players on the way. You sit down and take your boots off to give to the little girl you saw with your Arsenal jersey on. You put them on the seat next to you before leaning back and watching your friends celebrating the historic moment. You watch as Mackenzie come over to you and sits next to you, slinging her arm over your shoulder inevitably pulling you into her.
“They were meant to meant to see this. They were meant to see us win” you choke out through the fountains of tears coming down your face.
“We know darls but you know they watched you play the whole game and sink that pen” Mackenzie says as she hugs you tighter.
“They’d be proud of you too Macca, Steph too”
“Did you find your mum? I think it would be good to see her” you ask Mackenzie.
Mackenzie stand up and pulls you up at the same time. You grab your boots and give them to the little girl, making sure you signed them both. Macca points out in the crowd and you attempt to follow her finger but fail. Suddenly you notice the woman and you attempt to climb the barrier but security guards stop you.
“No, let me go! I’m fine” you yell out, gaining attention from players (including Steph) around you.
Another security guard walked up and whispered something to the guard holding me back. He moved his hands and I raced up the stairs to give Mackenzie’s mum a tight hug. After a few minutes, Tony yells out to you and you say your goodbyes before going back on the pitch.
More hugs and congratulations came your way before you all finally went back into the locker room. Tony pulled you aside and told you how proud he was of you playing when such a tragedy has happened. You thank him and go back to the girls who have started moving furniture the chants and cheers.
You get up on one of the tables and lead the first one with Lydia. The celebrations go on for another hours or so until we were basically getting kicked out. Everyone had a quick shower before going back on the bus to get a decent nights rest.
As your friends dispersed to their rooms, they reminded you to message if you need anything. You get changed into some shorts and a sports bra since Steph has to have the heater on or she can’t sleep, in her own words. You bend over to pick up the charger from the floor when you feel a sharp sting on you ass.
“That hurt babe!” You say turning around quickly.
“Well stop looking so good then” She says winking as she jumps into bed.
You plug your phone in before cuddling up to your girl. You let out a small sigh before thinking about the next couple of days. Steph tightens her arms while giving you a kiss on the forehead.
“What’s going on up there puddin?”
“I’m just thinking about the game and how if we lose it’s gonna be my fault because I’m distracted. Then I have to plan the funerals an-“ you get cut off by Steph’s soft lips on yours and you instantly relax.
“Baby, yes you have a lot to do but do you have to do it all alone? No. You have 10 other people on that field including me for the game and we are going to smash England. And for everything else, you have me and I’m not going anywhere, not ever. We’ll be okay. Okay?” Steph cups your cheeks and looks into you eyes lovingly.
“If I’m with you, I just know everything going to be alright. Thank you for all you do for me Stephy. I appreciate it”
“It would do it all again in a heartbeat if it meant helping you and putting that beautiful smile on your gorgeous face”
You lean over and kiss Steph passionately before you two fall into a deep sleep, cuddling up to each other.
The next couple of weeks are the most painful in your whole life but with Steph by your side, she made it all better.
Surprise
Summary: You surprise your Ma for her birthday.
A/N: Just a short one, based off this request.
Tumblr media
It was the day before international break, a period of time in which Katie’s Birthday feel, she was upset that yet again your little family would be split on a birthday, little did she know that your Mum was planning to come visit her, she had arranged with Tony to have a break however that was after the team had already been announced, so she asked Tony to wait until the day she surprised Katie to announce that she was no longer available.
“What if I just don’t go to camp this time, they’re only friendlies” she said as she opened a present.
“Katie, babe, no, you should go, it will be okay. Oh, and also you will get your main present on your Birthday” Caitlin said, she of course knew what this was, it was you and her, but Katie didn’t.
“What is it?” “You will have to wait to find out”.
_____
“Which plane ours?” You ask your Mum, you were standing on the window looking out at the planes in the lounge, Steph and Kyra were with you, as always, except for some reason you didn’t have nearly as many bags as them, where usually you would have more than them.
“We aren’t getting on a plane today, Monkey.” She replies, “But why?”
“Because we are going to fly to Ireland tomorrow, so we can surprise Ma for her Birthday,” your Mum informs you excitedly.
“So why we here then?” “To send her photos like we always do so she doesn’t get suspicious. We’re tricking her into thinking we are going to Matilda’s camp”.
“But you say tricking is bad” you pout.
“Well, most of the time it is, but this time it’s for a good reason, so it isn’t bad”.
“Because Ma is sad, she won’t see us on her birfday and if we go and see her she will get all happy?” you question trying to make sense of the situation “Exactly” “kay”
_____
“PLANE!” You exclaim as you watch a plane take off.
“Shh, Monkey, inside voice, people are trying to work and relax,” she tells you softly in your ear before she turns to a group of businesspeople near her, “I am so sorry, she is just very excited, we are going to surprise her Ma today, she is currently away for work, and its her birthday today,”
“Oh no, it’s sweet, and that is such a cute thing to do,” one of the Women say.
“It’s alright, we’re not really doing anything that important, trying to figure out what colour to use for our design, but I’m sure Katie will be happy to see you. Oh god I sound like a stalker, my daughter is an avid football fan, she plays and wants to become a professional”. The man who seems to the boss says.
“That’s okay, but I am sorry, if I ever see you at a game, I’ll make sure to say hi,”
“Thank you, we are actually coming to the first game after international break,”
“Well, I’ll keep a look out and maybe I’ll have a gift for her”.
“Now boarding flight BA830 to Dublin, flight BA830 boarding now”
“Oh, that’s us, nice meeting you all sorry for the noise again,” your Mum picked you up and headed to your gate, you got checked in and sat on the plane, it wasn’t a verry long flight, but you still fell asleep, something about planes sends you to sleep, you had also not slept much last night as you were excited about seeing your Ma.
_____
There was a car in the pick-up spot waiting for you, your Mum had asked Eileen if it was okay if she did surprise your Ma, she was nervous that Eileen would say no as it might cause some tension/drama in the team but Eileen said absolutely, she even offered a driver to pick you up from the airport and take you to the grounds, your Mum had said it’s okay but Eileen said it was the least she could do,
You got in a car with you Mum, which stopped outside a local flower shop, you went inside with her and helped her pick out the biggest and bestest bouquet for your Ma, after you had purchased it, you got back into the car. After about 3 minutes you were there.
“You ready?” “See Ma!”
Eileen was on the sidelines, near where you were entering, when she saw you, she yelled out “Katie, can you come over here for a sec,” you Ma turned around and started jogging before she saw you and stopped, her mouth dropped before she crocked out "Y/N/N, Cait".
“Ma,” you said as you started running as fast as your little legs could go, when you neared her, she put her arms out and you jumped into them, she lifted you up to give you a big hug before perching you on her hip, your Mum wasn’t far behind her.
“Happy Birthday my love,” your Mum said as she placed a kiss on your Mums lips and hugged her, before putting her arm around her shoulders. “How?” “That doesn’t matter now does it, we’re here.” “I love you so much, thank you for surprising me and for coming” your Ma said as a few tears left her eyes, but Caitlin was quick to wipe them away.
My first fanfic ever was when I was 14 and it was a house angst fic written on a scrap piece of paper and then I LOST IT in my grandparents house and then the next day my granddad awkwardly sat me down and told me that God wants me to only think good thoughts. I don't think he liked my fic.
not Tony Bramwell absolutely destroying Pete Best 😭
But even though I was constantly around him, I felt I hardly knew Pete Best, although I used to go to a lot of gigs that his mother organized. He got a reputation as being mysterious, but he was probably just surly and introspective, or perhaps he was permanently depressed. Some people give out energy, others suck it in like a black hole. Maybe it wasn't his fault, but Pete was the latter. (...) The Beatles just didn't like him and said so to each other and in front of me. He wasn't as quick and sharp and funny as they were. Both Paul and John said he wasn't one of them, that he wasn't "studenty" or intellectual. He tended to be sullen and morose. Pete told me that he had hated it in Germany. He moaned all the time and he didn't hang out with them in Liverpool. He used to stay at home and snog on the sofa with his girlfriend while his mum was out and about, the life and soul of every party from one end of the Mersey to the other.
