PAC: Your January Forecast 🎇❄🦢

Sup y'all, I'm back for the very last PAC I'm gonna write for 2023. By the end of the weekend, we will have shifted to a whole new year, with a new moon close in tow. I'm gonna be honest, this has been a rough year for me, but not without its bright spots. Like the birth of this blog, for one! I'm already planning the 1 Year Special.

The plan is only to expand from here to see what more there is to do! There was a lot I wanted to do this year but didn't get around to doing because of life, so I have a lot lined up for January.

Hi, pile 1! Hope you're feeling alive and well for 2024. I kinda called this the "zombie pile" while drawing cause I'm getting this sluggish energy dragging along. Mumbling, creeping, hair disheveled. Goodness, this past year had you wiped out, didn't it? If you're feeling pressured for a resolution, I wouldn't, because for you I think simply sloughing off the old year like snake skin is your main priority for January. I'm hearing Usher's lyrics: "I feel like a zombie come back to life." Maybe you could treat this month like an extended New Year's Eve party. You can't force yourself to be excited for it, but you can slowly build up to it.

There is an emphasis on positive thinking with this pile. You have two Suns from different decks. Doing what brings you simple joy will be healing for you this month. Focusing on little joys can help you shift perspective. Being in the present is very important right now, and you're being asked not to think too much about last year as it will only drain you of further energy. You can't draw healing to yourself if you're spending all your Magic Points on looking backwards for answers. It it feels difficult to be positive, think outside the box at how you can move away from past thinking, like making a vision board for what you most desire to experience this year.

One of the real impressive things about your reading are the dice. You have Uranus, its natural house 11, and its sign Aquarius. Emphasis on CHANGE, much? You know how in movies, where the main character is falling into darkness and has relinquished all hope of being saved, and just as it fades to black someone swoops in to help them while casually laughing off "hah, yeah, I just happened to be in the neighborhood when I saw you falling into an infinite chasm, y'know?"

The word "Deus Ex Machina" is also popping up, or "god out of machine". It's a Latin term referring to an ancient Greek theater technique where a crane would lower an actor dressed as a deity onto the stage during the final act of a comedy, delivering sudden divine intervention and saving the day for the heroes. In other words, there is massive and very unexpected change for you, one that's gonna pull you out of the sluggish stupor of 2023. This is why resolutions aren't important for you now; whatever 2024 will be for you, it's coming in lightning hot and will do that for you.

And I think this change, however large and surprising, will be ultimately wonderful for you. There is so much sunlight emerging from this fog, new life will be breathed in for you by divine planning. It's going to help you work through some of the damage that last year left behind. It will also help you pivot to your next chapter in life. It may feel weird going into a new year with very little expectations, not knowing where you're going to end up next, but it'll be worth it. When the door swings open for you, it will BURST open, so stay on the bright side and focus on regenerating your health for now.

Hello, pile 2! This month will be a quiet one for you, in a good way. This will be a time of retreat for you. If you found yourself being rather social at the end of 2023, expect the new year to start off with a whimper. I see you going into a hermit mode and disengaging from regular activities, especially involving other people. I get the sense that this pile is the type to want to overextend and please everyone around them. If you need a resolution suggestion from me, it's to put the brakes on now before you careen over the edge. January is putting a halt to this behavior.

Yes, you are strong. No, you do not always need to be strong for everybody else. It will wear you thin to even try, and you may end up resentful over it. It's not worth the struggle. I'm not asking you to snap at anyone who comes too close, but consider not adding more of other peoples' errands to your schedule. Consider saying, "actually, I can't go today," without feeling the need to explain why. You have a right to your own personal space away from distractions now.

This pile could belong to a group of people or community that's close to you, which could be going through a lot of hell or has been in the past year. They may have asked a lot from you with few other options. It's made you have to stand up and advocate, at the cost of your own issues being put on the back burner. It is not selfish to walk away for a while and take care of yourself, doubly so if the group in question deals with a lot of arguing and gossip. If it feels bad, trust your gut and keep your distance for now. Don't try to solve big arguments while Mercury is retrograding.

I know how Pluto in the 12th house is, as it's prominent in my chart. Imagine walking downstairs to get to your basement, only for the stairs to never end until you find yourself floating in a weird little wonderland. Somewhere, in that surreal underground mindscape, is a deeply entrenched karmic pattern that may elude you at first. Some shadow work may be required here to dig through the trenches for unpolished gems. If a pesky pattern is repeating in your life, it's time to withdraw and connect to your dreams and subconscious for clues. This pattern may have something to do with this group.

You're actually going to get more progress done by meditating and seeking out nature rather than getting too involved with these issues. The time will come when things can be handled with a clearer mindset. But your higher self is pulling you inward to help ground you through this, to remind you that you are your own amazing being even when you're separate from these people. You have the strength to stand on your own, otherwise there wouldn't be so many folks seeking you out in need. Sapphire wants you to marry your heart with your mind. It's a stone of wisdom guided by compassionate understanding and care. You spin your wheels overthinking an issue, when instead coming back to your heartspace will provide the key.

What's going on, pile 3? Looks like somebody wants to enter hibernation mode, lol. I don't blame you one bit. As the full moon in Cancer has passed and the season changes, there's a strong desire to nestle into the home. Your house will be like your castle for you to improve during this month. You may feel up to redecorating or rearranging furniture to make it feel more cozy or season appropriate as you settle in. Or you may simply desire to clear out old things to decide what to keep.

You may want to do a spiritual cleansing of the house to ring in the New Year, too. Try infusing magic herbs like lemon verbena into your cleaning products, or toss cinnamon outside the front door while ringing a bell to invite prosperity in. A simple incense stick with a very fresh, mild scent like lavender can also do the trick. Does your family have a special trick or recipe they use? Whatever herb and scent combination brings out that "New Year New Me" feeling is best!

I heard loud and clearly, "YOU'RE PROTECTED!" for whomever needs to hear it most. Things might feel shaky and ungrounded at the moment. I wanna wrap a big blanket around y'all. You're being totally protected right now by your guides, so please don't let the uncertainties of 2024 leave your head dizzied. Yes, there's a lot of plans to be drawn out and a lot more work to be done, and you may not know where you're heading next, but perhaps there's a reason we like to begin the year at such a slow quiet time, after all the festivities have passed. It's not sound to start off in a rush.

You're being heavily affected by Sun in Capricorn doubled with the current Mercury retrograde, regardless of your chart placements. This is absolutely not a time for rash decision making, even if it feels you're not being your most productive. Our modern society doesn't like it when workers take a break or listen to their body's needs in any way. It will always have its excuses for its ruthless standards. After a while, though, you have to learn to shrug those expectations off and do what's right for you, or you'll risk burning out before the new year has even started.

Some of you might be thinking of even doing the Dry January trend as part of your resolution. If it's a serious issue, I'd talk to your doctor about how to do it sustainably. If you're already stressed and at risk of burnout, more pressure is not going to help. But a sober month could prove beneficial for you overall. This is not a command for you to have a Dry January if you're not interested; this message is for those who already plan on doing so. Try to take it one day at a time, keep your head free of self criticism, and don't guilt yourself over "cheat days". I will be doing one as well, so please reach out if you need a supporting voice.

Hi omg I’ve been meaning to write a longer official piece about this, so thank you for the excuse for something like that! I’m so happy you’re enjoying my lore side of stuff omg it makes me so giddy???

Basically going through aethers internal monologue of what he feels following the events. Reminder he is going through very heavy guilt and his feelings are a lot more dramatized than what actually happened

No one blames him, only he blames himself

Warnings for angst, guilt, mild self destructive behaviors

For the lore I’m talking about or more context please see #wraths ghost lore (not super necessary, just know aether did dews transition)

He remembers how the magic burned through his fingers.

The way he could see it creep through dews veins as he bled it in through his arms. He remembers the panicked look he gave omega who kept dewdrop subdued on the table as he screamed.

The thoughts don’t go away, haven’t left him in months. The sight of dews face twisted in pain stains the back of his eyes when he sleeps and he can’t look at him without seeing the wounds that have long since healed. It’s his handiwork at the end of the day. The scars over dew's gills are his doing, the burning flare ups dew gets in his joints are his fault. The breakdowns dew has over his new element can only be blamed on aether and he doesn’t think he will ever feel right with himself again over it.

Dews told him it’s not his fault more times than he can count. The now fire ghoul can feel the shame and pity that aether stares at him with.

“I wanted this aeth” dew rubs his hand over aethers shoulder “it had to be done”

“I know” aether leans into the touch.

But he doesn’t

The blood on his hands doesn’t seem to dry. No amount of reassurance that he had to do it takes the guilt away.

There are people out there that have to put down sick dogs, and aether wonders if the blood on their hands disappears when they clock out. Aether wonders if maybe that’s his fate too. If his job was something akin to putting down a sick dog. If he’s intervened in a divine destiny and he’s only created some half put together Frankenstein of his own friend.

He wonders if he’s only simply prolonged the inevitable.

And even if he did save dew he wonders if it was fair to have the responsibility put on himself. A god of force and not of willingness.

The sight of dew sometimes is too much to handle. Not because of any physical shock, he still looks like his dew, but the knowledge of the pain makes aethers stomach crawl up his throat. Dew would’ve been better off without him, he’s sure of it considering how he only seems to hurt him. The thought reassures itself more and more as the time passes. Dews' desperate attempts to wrangle his friend from the depths of guilt only make him feel worse. This shouldn’t be his job. Not after what he’s been through.

Aether retreats. Closes himself off more and more from those who wish to support him most. The genuine belief that he’s harmed someone is truly more than he can bear to handle, let alone to constantly see the fruits of his labor tell him how much he loves him.

His door stays locked most days. His relationships slip from his fingers in his own self wallowing. A recluse of his own fault but

Shadowheart is frowning as she stomps over to you after the battle. She sees you're injured and of course she's worried, but first she needs to scold you for even getting badly injured in the first place.

Not to mention, you're a paladin. Don't you have divine magic to heal yourself? She's the cleric, let her worry about healing others. With all your divine abilities, she wants you to be careful of your own health too.

While she's scolding you, depending on when this takes place, she might scoff and say "And Selune can't even offer her powers to keep you safe?" or something along those lines if she's still following Shar. But it is a lot of scolding with her healing you or getting potions. She'll be very pissed if this happens again.

But it's something you more feel than know, it's more a heart to heart connection, so it's all about listening with your heart. It kinda seems that maybe you are expecting some kind of more clear sign or something and so the cards are implying that the way to know is kinda, when you can read in between the lines and hear what is being said, even when not using direct expressions. Something like that. And there are strong red flags as well and temptation showing up in this pile. A third-party situation is possible, but remember, if somebody is truly into you, they wouldn't participate in it. And that goes vice versa, if you keep your options open, there is no reason why they couldn't, too. Another theme coming through for you is family and tribe. Maybe you just hope to find your soulmate or get married and have kids or maybe this year it will be a theme to introduce someone to your family, etc. You might also experience some kind of peer pressure in matters of love this year. Especially when it comes to looks, to beauty and fashion and to what is considered attractive. Actually, looking at the cards you could find yourself in a situation, where you have this shared thought with others that your person should look a certain way but find yourself attracted to someone's inner beauty instead. Anyhow, there is definitely potential for you to find love this year, as love is showing up in the cards for this pile. There could be some challenges and obstacles as mentioned before and clarity will be a big theme as well for you this year, especially personal clarity. Divinity Original Sin 2 has spoiled me

I’ve played my fair share of this wonderful game before, but this year’s BG3 hype had my interest pique again, so I’ve given it another go (this time with mods, which I’ve definitely spent too much time learning how to install and make work together). And boy, oh boy, this game might just have spoiled the RPG’s for me forever.

First of all, this game has no class system. While the character creator offers you some options to choose from, those are just pretty suggestions for the beginning of the game, and even those beginner’s setups are very creative. For example, the Inquisitor preset offers you options from the Necromancy and Warfrare skilltrees (Warfare is focused on dealing physical damage, and the Necromancer has an array of ranged magic and skills to stay alive in battle longer), or a Shadowblade preset, which offers you skills from Scoundrel and Polymorph trees (Scoundrel is your rogue build skills focused on backstabbing, and Polymorph offers you abilities to morph your body into different animal-themed parts, like Chamelon Skin spell which will, predictably, make you invisible). You also, obviously, have more typical options like Enchanter (lightning abilities from Aerotheurge tree and water spells from Hydrosophist) or a Fighter (Warfrare plus armour buffs from Geomancer tree), and they are no less effective than the previously mentioned more exotic combinations.

The character-building, combined with clever enemy AI in this game makes the build-creation process extremely robust. For example, the standard Tank-Healer-DamageDealer holy triad is completely useless in this game, as the AI is clever enough to ignore the characters with the most HP and go for the low-health targets first. This simple change completely breaks the standard mould, and now the best strategy you can have is either outdamage your enemies, or dictate your own rules over the battlefield to control them.

The diversity in building is only intensified by the skills inside different trees, because almost every skilltree in this game will have its own abilities for healing, crowd control and movement. Huntsman (the ranged bow skilltree) tree has Tactical Retreat, Warfrare has Phoenix Dive, Aerotheurge has Teleport, Polymorph has Wings – all of these abilities serve the same function of assuming a better position for your character on the battlefield (which is critical in this game). This means that specializing into any skilltree will also grant you access to a lot of self-sustaining abilities and options. Plus, levelling up any skilltree will grant you additional perks, like levelling up Necromancer will give you bonus % of healing from all the damage you deal (which is an awesome trait for ANY character build really), levelling Hydrosophist will give you a bonus to all the healing and magic armour restoration you receive, or the Huntsman levels give you a damage bonus if you're on the high ground, which is great for ranged units of any kind, so there is incentive to spend some levels on those skilltrees even if you aren’t really using any skills from them. Which destroyes the rpg-triad even further.

(my mage gets shamed by the party, because she is the only one without points in Polymorph for the Wings ability, she makes do with the Huntsman's Tactical Retreat instead, because she needs the high ground damage boost)

For example, the Warfrare tree, which is crucial for any close-range build, has a lot of abilities to control your enemies, because they can Knock Down enemies with their first-level skills from the get-go, and this means the enemy loses their turn on that round of combat. Now your typical damage-warrior is actually your second-best source of crowd control abilities, and not just a monkey with a club. While your ranged-mage builds will be controlling one, two at best character from their range, your properly positioned melee fighter can make an entire crowd of enemies lose their turn. And getting your enemies to lose a turn is the only thing better than doing massive damage to them, in time you will learn how to do both and it’s great fun.

Speaking of what works wonderfully in this game, it’s time to mention the elemental system! I don’t think I’ve played Big RPG Game with an elemental system as robust as the one DOS2 has. I believe someone on the Noclip Podcast mentioned how, each battle in this game feels like it’s not just a battle against different enemies and their damage numbers, but it is also a battle for the terrain that you control. So I guess, this makes DOS2 a Splatoon predecessor?...Moving on.

For example, in the first act of the game you will stumble upon an ambush from a bunch of skeletons, problem is – there are Poison puddles all over the place. And DOS2 skeletons have ‘reverse’ healing mechanic, which means they will get damaged by normal healing spells, but they do receive healing from poison. It means that fighting skeletons with a party of not-undead/living characters can be much fun, as you can constantly cast chain healing, or Bless a big water surface to heal your party, and if the spell jumps to the undead they will be damaged constantly. The Rain spell is, arguably, the most important spell in the entire game, and it is crucial to keeping control of the elemental battlefield.

Rain will create a big water surface, and which you can use to your advantage – freeze it with Global Cooling and isolate your enemies, because walking on Icy surface can and will make them (and you) slip and fall if they try to move, and they will lose their turn.

You’re playing Lone Wolf (=solo buffed character, without companions) and YOU’RE the undead? Cast Rain and Contamination and convert the entire battlefield into a poisonous swamp that will heal you.

You’re not undead? Well, blow that poison basin with any Pyrokinetic skill and watch everything standing in it get converted into ash by the resulting explosion! The battlefield is already on fire? Add some more by creating an Oily surface with Geomancer skills to have it instantly blow up in your enemy’s face. Having trouble with your battlefield Constantly Being On Fire and losing heath fast? Reset the battlefield with Rain and create a cover for everyone, as the resulting Smoke will make it impossible to target anything farther than touch-range skills.

Blood is also a surface in this game, and extremely powerful at that. Every attack that damages the character’s health directly (meaning it bypasses their physical and/or magic armor or they have none left) creates a blood puddle under them, which you can also use.

This surface-elemental madness can also be improved upon with mods made by the community, the most noticeable example here would be Odinblade’s skilltree reworks, which rebalance the original skills a lot and add a lot of very fun additional ones. For example, the Aerotheurge tree gets an additional Conductive debuff to place on your enemies, which will increase all the lightning damage they get and will spread any electric damage to enemies around them, or the Necromancy tree gets a Hex bonus damage dealt to any enemy if their magic armour is gone. Etc, etc, please install Odinblade’s mods they level up the gameplay to new hights.

I’ll also admit here that, while I’ve spent a lot of hours in this game, and was quite invested in the story of my companions and the main quest, it’s…not the best way to play the game. Don’t play this game for story. The story is very good when it gets going, but it will be spread like extremely uneven butter of maybe 2-3 final hours over a 20+ hours of each Act as your bread. Play this game for the extremely versatile gameplay and the amazing systemic nature of it, then exploit the game to hell and back.

Sneak into an arena of magic golems and pickpocket their energy cores, so they die immediately. Use Surface transmutation to move a bunch of lava to a boss arena and place it under his feet to kill it instantly. Talk to a turtle in a dungeon, to learn that she is in love with her neighbor – a rat, and find a way to bring them together. Equip a new ring, only to find out it’s cursed, it sets debuffs on you, you cannot unequip it as it became smaller around the finger and search for a solution.

This game is about finding clever and funny ways to solve problems/quests, and that is super fun to do in DOS2. Also, really, the elemental and class-less rpg system of this game spoiled me so hard, I think I might have some trouble in the future adapting to another class-based rpg game after this xD. Anyway, talk to animals, upgrade your persuasion and take Beast into your party, he is hilarious.

ok there's a lot of writing on astrology so this is not comprehensive by any means. u should also keep in mind that historically (painting in broad strokes here) astrology and astronomy were not entirely distinct practices, both because the point of astronomical observations was often to make astrological predictions, and because most people practicing astrology were expected to at least present themselves as having the instruments and savoir-faire to generate their own astronomical data. the non-astronomer astrologer is kind of a special case. so, astrology will pop up in lots of texts about historical astronomy and cosmology, even if that's not the primary focus. i would honestly usually recommend such texts over ones that try to tackle astrology under the broader schema of 'occult sciences' (contested category).

How does one reconcile their intellectual awareness that magic is not real with their desire to engage with the spiritual? I keep banging my head on the wall trying to fill this hole in the life but it just feels like I’ve had a magic tricked explained to me and I’ve lost the ability to enjoy the spectacle. I don’t mean for this question to sound smug or snarky I genuinely need advice.

this depends a lot on your tradition, so ill answer it from my perspective as an irish pagan

paganism is, in my opinion, first and foremost earth-based. deities and magic and ritual is all great, but indigenous spiritualities stem entirely from their environment and nature. look into what we know about trees ability to communicate, all the shit goin on with fungi, animal communities, focus on the earth and draw spiritual conclusions from it. dont worry about magic when you literally dont need to.

but i also wonder what you think magic is. not in a rude way, just that theres not one definition. is herbal tea healthy because of chemistry or because of spiritual healing hippie stuff? they aren't mutually exclusive. you can believe in both the science and the "magic" without grappling with anything. in my mind at least, understanding what plants have what chemicals and how they work is still pretty fucking magical. my body uses energy to convert x chemicals into y nutrients that will heal me? how does it know to do that? why did we evolve that way? theres energy stored in my body all the time? holy shit life is divine and my spirit has the capacity for greatness, etc etc. logic and spirituality don't take away from each other.

also look into different magical systems and ideas. the process i was taught is extremely different from other traditions, which are all extremely different from each other too. not that theres like some secret special one out there that you'll believe in, but try to find the root of what you don't believe. do you not believe in spirits? the ability to control your energy? the ability of your energy to effect external forces? what is it that you dont believe, and how can you incorporate spiritual practices that avoid those ideas

What's your opinion of Irene and the Divine Warriors? What were their dynamics?

Personal, a joke headcanon I have is that Irene is like a neurodivergent Jesus who doesn't pick up on social cues (romantic or otherwise) and is completely oblivious to the Shad/Esmund/(Enki) love square she's caught in. Menphia and Kul'zak are in the background cracking up and panicking because they're basically babysitting a God-like deity (Irene) with the mental awareness of a five-year-old, a traumatized possessive Great dane (shad), a giant Golden retriever (Esmund), and most of their days are consumed with trying not to let Enki die in the crossfire

Before I get into my opinions, I think that joke headcanon is super funny. Also, I'll refer to the Divine Warriors as DW during this entire thing just to make it more easier to write and everything.

As a whole, I believe they are a very dysfunctional family. The way I see them, none of them have romantic feelings for one another as I do not feel as if any of them have the time to even have emotional connections like romance. They all used to be the best of friends, but as the weight of being important people and powers came crashing down on them, so did their friendships.

Some dynamics include:

Enki and Kul'Zak: These two are the closest out of the bunch, they are good friends and trust each other with every fiber in their body. However, to history and to the others, these two rarely interacted. Most of their friendship was hidden within letters sent between the two of them.

Irene and Shad: I hated the dynamic between these two on the show. Like.. they loved each other.. but like they didn't? In my opinion, They are polar opposites, both power wise, personality wise, and philosophy wise. They butt heads a lot, but they have their moments. To me, they are the type of found family siblings that will insult and throw punches at each other, but god forbid someone else insults one or the other.

Now, like their names suggest, They all had jobs within the group, though all acted alone and were all worshiped by different groups of people.

Irene was obviously the healer of the group due to what her powers are and what her name suggests. Here's the thing, I believe her powers are like.. too god-like for an entity described multiple times to be a mortal being. Like.. bring people back to life?? Its like a badly written OC. While I do believe she has the best healing capabilities, and some healing powers, I do not think she should be able to bring people back to life. However, she is the person who makes healing medicine a thing to be studies, and not just something left to witches or healing magic users. She started the idea of doctors.

Enki is the keeper. As the name suggests, he is the keeper of all knowledge, he records everything that has happened within the divine warriors, history that has happened in every nation. I like to think that he has a giant library hidden deep beneath the earth's core. It is like the library of Alexandria, but it has never been found. Most scholars do not believe it exists. But it does.

Esmund the protector. I think he has some pretty cool magic, and since we don't know what is powers are, I am going to make something up. He is the protector, meant to protect the people and his matron. I believe he has the power to harden his skin, but he does not use this to his advantage during fights, he only uses it when the fight is getting tough (which rarely happens). I also believe is a tall, buff man. Intimidating to anyone who does not know him, but he has a giant heart.

Kul'Zak the wanderer. He goes between nations, gathers history, records art, records the people and rulers of villages, and also the resident map maker. He and Enki work close together to fill the library up to anything that can fit into it. Also, he blends in so much that it was no wonder that people did not know he was the wanderer.

Shad the destroyer. I believe his old title was Shad the fighter. Unlike Esmund, Shad was always on the front lines fighting. He never really protected anyone, but he was sure a fighter. He was the type to blindly go at it when it came to war, and it had gotten him in trouble many of times with the other DW. He got the title of destroyer during the war. The title of fighter is only kept within the Library that Enki has. Books and other history was destroyed in the book burning of history books.

Menphia the fury. She was usually in the back of wars, having magic that allowed things to fall from the sky to attack enemy lines. Things like fireballs and such. The reason why she is not so talked about is because she wanted it that way. She did not want to be known, she did not want to be remembered. In some regions, the story of the raining fireballs became that of myth, became a story. One that only happens during war full of magical energy converging. Menphia only wanted to live a quiet life, not fight others, espessially people she used to call her friends.

This took forever to type up but coming up with ideas like this was fun !!!!!

I seem to have a horrid habit of focusing on world building instead of the stories! That said, have some facts abt both stories and their worlds!!

A Seer of Secrets

All four celestial monkeys know of each other’s existence (obvs). But the Long-Armed Gibbon and the Red Buttock Baboon have ultimately decided that dealing w Macaque and Wukong is NOT worth it. Good choice LMAO

Demon courting is kind of weird. Female demons tend to be more aggressive with courting

Speaking of courting, kidnapping is part of it but it’s consensual. Well… nowadays it is. But you don’t realize it because they disguise it as an “I’m surprise visiting you… and now we’re going to my house. Pack a week's worth of clothes.”

Seers and Oracles usually have an item or symbol that connects them to divinity. I wonder what Seer’s item is.

Demon food is USUALLY spicy. For some reason, MK and Mei can withstand it but Wukong lowkey struggles? He doesn’t question it much. They're a weird duo.

There's this huge ass under-market for demons. I'm talking multiple districts kind of big. It's based on the five phases of Chinese philosophy. So you've got Fire, Water, Wood, Gold, and Earth. The District levels go in order as the inter-promoting direction... Or generating direction (I wanted to feel fancy). So it goes Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and then Water. But it's in this big circle that spirals upwards. It's pretty cool because the transition from the Water District to the Wood District is by a massive waterfall that has these big rock platforms that act like an elevator. So, it's kind of tapping into the whole "controls" thing of the uhhhh.... inter-regulating part.

Speaking of the districts, there is ONE place that is considered pure neutral territory. And that would be the Earth section. Simply because Earth is meant to represent " patience, thoughtfulness, practicality, hard work, and stability." This is also where demons can find items that can help with healing 'n their abilities! It's where most markets are set up due to the unspoken truce.

The Wood and Fire district tends to get... really heated. Especially in the Fire District. The space between Wood and Fire is highly populated. So a lot of fighting happens and it's considered far enough from the Earth District. This is where demons like to just... bust out the moves and get into nasty fights. So if you can survive running through the Fire District (where there are a lot of fights over territory) and to Earth, consider yourself lucky. And fucked, because the moment you step out of the Earth District, someone is on your ass.

Water isn't exactly where demons live. It's more of a uh... "If I can't be on the surface for a hot moment or so, I can chill here and not be bothered" kind of place. But it's usually for those real big hot-shot guys. So the Demon Bull Family, for example.

You Were Nothing Like Me

You guys don't understand. I have almost 5,000 words on the doc. That's more than ASOS, sadly.

Everyone's names are based on Constellations because I'm unoriginal. The only people who aren't are the brothers... And Queen Astra, who is Outertale Toriel.

The Void? Yes, it's sentient. It lets Gaster be an invisible guiding hand.

It also oddly likes chocolate.

Monsters know ASL. This is because of a bunch of ASL content being found-- why was it in the dumpster? Who knows! But it's benefited the monster community, and it's gotten the favor of the Deaf Community! Because they're more accepting than others.

I made three official holidays for Monsters and pulled the names out of my fucking ass at 3 AM. Gyftmas, of course, exist. It happens on the Third of every December. Monsters originally guessed based on the crystals in Waterfall. Which would dim during the summer and brighten up during the winter. The brightest day just so happens to be the third Wednesday of December without fail. Why do the crystals dim during the summer? Because monster magic, despite being beneath the ground for literal centuries, accommodated the heat by glowing brighter. Why does glowing brighter help? Because why not. It's like when fireflies come out during May and June. Because. Day of Silence is a pretty somber day. It is a-- uh-- a day dedicated to the Royal Family and their lost children. Most monsters take this day off and mourn the fallen prince and child. It's said that you can hear their souls mourning throughout the underground... Said sound gets louder when the fusion of Outertale happens. Yup. Sunset Feast is a really happy one. It's the day the barrier broke! Because woohoo, freedom. Their version of the 4th of July. So, fun fact about this holiday. Frisk broke the barrier the same fucking day it was created. And it, thus, replaced the old holiday Feast of Darkness. Anyways, Sunset Feast is where monsters gather near a large clearing that's by the entrance of Ebott and-- uh-- watch the sunset! Big feast, too. Really fun and loud! Lots of music 'n stuff.

Who named those holidays, you ask? Not Asgore. That's for fucking sure. Not with his shitty naming skills. It was actually Toriel, who named them. I refuse to believe both of them had shitty naming skills. Toriel was good at naming things because I said so.

Typhas, or known as water sausages, have three different forms. You have Snow Typhas, which are commonly closer to Snowdin, and are pretty sweet! They're actually used to making icing or Nice Cream. You also have Spice Typhas, which are closer to HotLands and are used as a spice! The spiciest part of Spice Typhas are the seeds, kind of like peppers!

Depending on where you're at in the underground, you get unique currency. Gold is the overarching one, but sometimes you gotta make some fun unique ones. The Ruins doesn't have currency minus gold. They like to bargain and trade. Snowdin uses Milky Quartz. Waterfall uses Water Opals. HotLand uses Rubies. The Core uses Quartz. The Castle uses Sapphires. And the Court and Royal Family use diamonds... but not a lot of people see them.

I can go on for actual days about YWNLM's world building. I think about this world too much. I-- I just... I love it. It makes me happy.

Ok so I was reading your other headcanons about the slasher with an s/o who has powers and I was wondering if you could do the slashers with an s/o who’s super into witchcraft? Crystals, Spells, hex’s, working with deity’s etc. if not I totally understand!

Ohhhh I LOVE THIS!!! I'm trying to learn my witchcraft myself, and I'm really fond of my spell jars, so I'd give these fuckers like 12 and insist they carry every single one with them when they go out. As I said, I'm still learning, so if I get something wrong let me know!!! Onwards to crystalline glory!! (and I think I'm gonna try a new format mayhaps?? Tell me what y'all think or if it's easier to read)

Vincent Sinclair:

I think he'd want to learn too, he just seems like a really chill guy to me. I'm not sure this is a thing, but I think he'd like the idea of trying to look for atonement, but I also really like the headcanon that he doesn't fully understand exactly how fucked up what he's doing is, but on the third hand he's a smart man. So many headcanons <_>

Would try deity work to improve his art, I firmly believe this. He will go for every art-related deity he can find. And I don't know about y'all, but I love drawing stuff that's supposed to have this divine, godly energy to it, and I think he'd also be really in to that and take inspiration from any deities either of y'all work with

Shadow work. This man would like shadow work. I can feel it. (I think Bo would also appreciate it but we'll get to that later-). I think Vincent carries a lot of shame from his face and maybe even what he does, and ofc the goddamn abuse from Tr*dy and V*ctor (I swear to the GODS I will kill them both a second time myself). Anyways

I think any specific section that deals with healing the self and stuff like that is going to be attractive to him, cause he needs therapy but, pretty obviously, there are no therapists in Ambrose. He genuinely wants to improve himself, particularly after he meets you

He thinks crystals are pretty but he's not going to be as obsessed with them as you (me) are. Would give you any crystals he finds and would use a few, just not overboard like you (me).

I think he's a firm herb man. He can identify them and will take you around Ambrose and the surrounding nature areas on dates to gather herbs. Can find you just about anything. Will find you just anything (wait can I hex his parents??)

He loves your spell jars, he makes spell jars, y’all just about have a spell jar in every room in the house, hell in the town. I make small spell jar necklaces, and he would love love love those. Y’all make each other tons of small wearable jars, and it makes him feel really loved. He just really enjoys everything you do, especially when you do something for him, and he finds witchcraft helpful and fulfilling

Bo Sinclair:

Thinks it sounds a little silly when you first describe it. Witch? Isn't that for kids and Halloween?

Eventually gets it when he sees some of the rituals you do and the peace and comfort it brings you, and will not very subtly bring you supplies, like jars from his garage, herbs from around town, crystals

The crystals are like, particularly shiny gravel pieces he sees or sea glass or something, aggressive himbo tries his best

I think all three Sinclairs would be able to find and bring you plants, I think they spent a lot of time in the woods to escape their life/their parents

Would be iffy on the deity work, maybe think it's a load of shit cause when was a god ever there for him?

Along with that, I think he'd come around to deities eventually, but I also think he would maybe peek in on any work you do with self-healing. He wouldn't be into full-on witchcraft, but I think he has a tiny piece that wants that healing and love. Another man that needs therapy but doesn't have access, please somebody help this baby-

I think he would really like the idea of baneful magic, and would also wonder if you could hex dead people. . . (I really hate Tr*dy and V*ctor ok).

Overall, he may think it’s a little strange but if you like it, he likes it

(I forgot to mention for all three brothers you will have an endless supply of candles in every shade possible, maybe that’s obvious but I wanted to point it out).

Would let you put spell jars in his shop, in y’all’s room, and maybe even carry a small one with him (but he won’t admit it, or admit that it makes him feel loved that you made him a spell jar and want to use time and materials on him-).

Michael Myers:

Is also not going to really understand it, and may have some stereotypes based on his social experience (which is -0%).

Another one that will bring you crystals if he can find any, and also another one that deems shiny gravel to be crystals

He won’t know a whole lot about herbs, or anything really. I think he’s the type to eat things he shouldn’t, herbs included (he would eat road salt with me, I firmly believe it). You’d probably have to try to hid your herbs cause once you told him, “don’t eat that!!” he’s going to try harder to eat it. Mans is just a cat, does almost everything out of spite.

He’s not going to really buy in to it or join you in witchcraft. This man just doesn’t believe in a higher power, especially not a compassionate one. He’s been through too much to believe there’s anybody looking out for him, and he most definitely has believes that no god, particularly a loving one, would make someone like him. Goddamn it I want to love all these boys until they love themselves

I think he would believe himself more powerful than any deity, I mean he should be dead, but instead he’s killed so many, taken so many lives, he bows to no one

Would indulge one (1) of your spell jars. He would carry one (1) small one with him, but there’s a good chance he would lose it. I do think a part of him really appreciates that you made something for him, that you appeal to your religion to try and protect him even if he doesn’t believe in it like you do

Ok maybe he’s not like an atheist, well like he doesn’t really subscribe to higher powers, but I do think he’d be superstitious. Like he thinks rabbit feet are lucky, but maybe that he’s too powerful for anything to work on him. Will walk under a ladder because he thinks it’s supposed to give him bad luck, and thinks it’s funny/appropriate that it won’t work on him because he’s kinda like a supernatural entity himself

Does that make sense?? Like he believes in it, but thinks of himself as the exception because he’s been the exception to most things

Would ask you to hex Dr. Loomis, would bring you anything you needed, and you would want to do it (fuck Loomis 2022)

Thomas Hewitt:

He has to get used to it, cause I really believe he was raised in a somewhat conservative Christian household. He’d be nervous, worrying that his family would find out and get mad about it. There’s also that feeling of doing something he’s not supposed to, like when I first started practicing or thinking of Christianity in a less-than-positive way; that feeling of forbiddenness

I think you’d have to teach him about it and get him comfortable and show him you aren’t some... ok I’d say show him you aren’t a devil-worshipper but A) that just seems rude and 2) he eats people, he has no room to talk in this situation. But you show him it's more about reconnecting with nature and yourself, and something that just brings you comfort, and he can’t deny you. He really likes to hear you talk about the things you like and learn about them

After he gets used to it, he’ll help you. Like find you supplies, help you build an altar, stuff like that. Would help you plant a lil herb garden and give you any crystals he finds, I think he likes crystals too

This is a crafty man, he will sew you stuff, all the time. AND he’d include any sigils you have in pieces of clothing for you

Will fight Hoyt or Monty if they wanna try and pick on you. Tommy’s death glare is both hot and terrifying, it allllll depends on who it’s aimed at. I like the idea that he’s very close with Luda, and that she’s pretty accepting, so if he/y’all sat down and explained it all to her she’d be chill, maybe even join you on it. Definitely see her liking herbs and crystals too, and spell jars

Luda and Tommy would let you put up spell jars everywhere, and Luda would knock the shit out of Hoyt (or Monty) for fucking with them. Good ol’ frying pan treatment

I think Thomas might have a few extra masks, just for like when he wants to switch them up (and I firmly believe he is a sewing GOD). And he’d add very small crystals to some of them, maybe bless them

Overall he’d be similar to Vinny, wanting to join in on the craft. Will treasure every single spell jar you make him. He melts when he thinks about how you care enough to make him a spell jar. Makes you some in return, and loves how y’all have a couple in most rooms

asdjfksjdhfkjshfjhds he’s just a sweetheart and y’all love each other and do stuff together

He’d also be into stuff focusing on atonement and self-healing, absolutely, another one who needs therapy

Would beg you not to use baneful magic on Hoyt (but goddamn were you close to it).

I think he’d do a little deity work, but I dunno it just isn’t the vibe I personally get

Lester Sinclair:

himbo, that’s the most accurate descriptor of Lester in all situations

ANYWAYS, like a golden retriever, will bring you supplies like you told him to fetch (you did not, but he decided to anyways).

Very proud when he brings you crystals, and is ever more proud when they’re not pieces of gravel (he gets them confused sometimes, cause rock is rock)

LOVES that he’s a wilderness expert and can take you out looking for herbs. Like he is so excited that he can help you and spend time with you, and that y’all’s interests overlap a bit

I don’t think deity work would be his forte, but he totally supports you. Will help you set up an altar and everything, but I do think he’d like spell jars. Would help you make those too

Carries as many spell jars as possible, like he will try to have all 42 that you’ve made him on his person at once. And loves how they fit in to the aesthetic of his truck, like he hangs them from every available surface

BONES!!!!!!! will give you all the bones you want or need (I like bones from an aesthetic/goth/artist point of view). I think he’d make you jewelry out of the bones as like a thank-you for all the spell jar necklaces

He might ask you to jinx Bo if he’s being a little bitch, but doesn’t want anything bad, just to annoy his older brother for being an ass

Understands if you aren’t gonna do that, he has plenty of plans to screw with the twins (well, one specific twin).

I Firmly Believe that Lester Sinclair judges no one for things they like, he only judges people for being rude or bigoted or the likes. You like witchcraft? Cool, let him help you find plants and bones. Supports you in every single thing he can

If you find familiars (I’m not entirely sure how that works), or just find animals that are calling to you or come from a deity, he will happily adopt them. Like he’ll build them a lil place in the yard and find the right food for them

NO HE’D ABSOLUTELY PUT A SPELL JAR ON JONESY’S COLLAR

I blame Nymphie and Fang for my newfound love of one Lester Sinclair, he’s just a goddamn golden retriever himbo and that’s what I need in my life

Day 7 - Dragon Age - "Can you hear me?"

“Why does this always happen with you, Hawke?” Varric said with a sigh, hefting Bianca to take another shot.

“I’m a threat,” Hawke said.

“To yourself,” Fenris grumbled, shoving Hawke out of the way of an attacker trying to flank him. “Do you have any situational awareness?”

“Do I need to when I have such wonderful friends watching my back?” Hawke said, giving a quick, skilled twirl of his staff and freezing the attacker in place.

“It would save your wonderful friends a lot of stress,” Anders said.

Hawke waved his words away carelessly and spun his staff again, fire erupting this time. The warehouse they were exploring was filled with boxes, but Hawke had enough fine control of his magic to avoid setting anything on fire.

Still… “Hawke, maybe avoid fire right now?” Anders tried.

“Hm? Oh, you’re right. If I burn these boxes down, we can’t loot them after,” Hawke said, slapping his palm to his forehead. “Good call, Anders.”

Anders rolled his eyes up to the ceiling, praying silently for divine intervention. How had he managed to fall in love with the dumbest man in all of Kirkwall?

He dragged his gaze back to Hawke, watching the other man move around the warehouse with a graceful ease, casting spells and dodging incoming attacks. While the others had his back, he certainly had all of theirs, eyes sharp as he took down anyone his friends didn’t see.

They became too relaxed. No one saw the woman sneaking along behind the boxes near Hawke.

She sprang up, cracking the blunt end of her sword against his temple so hard that his eyes rolled up and he dropped motionlessly to the ground. She flipped her sword around, confident now that she’d neutralized their mage and could kill him without fear of him retaliating. She raised the sword over Hawke.

But she had only neutralized one of the mages.

“No!” Anders yelled, the echo of Justice in his voice as he flung his hand out. Despite his own warning, the flames inside him burst forth in a literal sense, blasting against the screaming woman and blowing her back with their force.

Anders rushed forward, dropping to his knees beside Hawke. He heard Varric and Fenris shifting around him to keep the two covered.

Anders was tired from a fight they’d encountered on their way to the warehouse, but he summoned his magic and placed a gentle hand on Hawke’s head, channeling enough healing into him that Hawke’s eyes slowly opened. He had a blank, dazed look in them.

“Hawke?” Hawke didn’t respond to his name. “Hawke, can you hear me?”

Anders ran his fingers through Hawke’s hair, despaired to feel the blood tangled into it. There was a nasty gash on his temple.

“Hawke, please, can you hear me?” Anders tried again, cradling Hawke in his arms carefully.

“Hm?” Hawke muttered. He blinked sluggishly a few times before looking up at Anders. “Ah…needed a…n-nap.”

“Dumbest man in all of Thedas,” Anders said, but he sounded relieved.

The gash was still bleeding, more than it should be. Anders pulled Hawke closer to his body, brushing his hair away from the wound.

“Stay still, love. I’m going to heal you,” Anders said, his voice strained. The lucidity that had briefly entered Hawke’s eyes was fading again.

“Mhm,” Hawke muttered, his hand feeling around until he’d grabbed Anders’ robe. He held onto it, seeming to take comfort in the feel of the familiar material.

Anders grit his teeth against his own exhaustion. He was going to heal Hawke. He was going to make sure Hawke was okay. He always would, and he knew Hawke would always do the same for him.

suncrow!!! :D hello hello!!! I'm doing better than i was before; more moving stuff got settled and figured out so im a bit more relaxed now!! ^^ I hope you're doing okay too!! NOW FOR THE KIDDOS--

(added after writing this whole thing: it turns out that i had, uh. everything about them on my mind ♥)

The brief synopsis is that Liifa & Eliana are two of my most well-beloved kiddos!! They both have long backstories, and experience a lot of change over the course of the timeline!! Here's a quick preview before I get into more detailed stuff of theirs:

Liifa was born in 1067 AE, in Quora Sum, a bit before Primordus first stirred. He spent the first eleven years of his life entirely underground, trying to keep up with his peers. In truth, nothing seemed all that interesting to him for quite a while. He took an interest in arguably less practical things, like types of divination that one of his moms (Azzun) was into. His older half-sister Rylii was in school to become a doctor, and helped to nudge him in the direction of medical jobs as well, since they could help each other out. Still, nothing had properly interested him yet! Although his knack for healing became apparent early on in his new classes.

Eliana has an entire past life that she's unaware of, but for this life, she's the daughter of a Duchess of the Nightmare Court. At first, she desires to stay near her family, but eventually her efforts lead her into a bad situation that she runs away from. She leaves no word to her family about her survival, simply hoping that she'll see them again someday in the future. (Unknown to her, they assume she's been killed by her previous Duke*.) She now actively engages in a life of piracy and carelessness!! :D Which will be causing her problems later lol

[*Eliana's previous Duke depends on AU! In my AU with @forbiddenredjollyrancher, her previous Duke is Casworon. :3 in my personal, it's Idris, but I haven't figured out those details just yet!]

OKAY. Brief rundowns out of the way, so here's some beloved details about their story together!!

SO. First things first, they've met a few times, long before they properly meet! The first time is during Eliana & Kiera's sapling adventures. During their first year, they ventured out into Tyria to see all that it had to offer, and to tell their beloved mother Fenella about everything they saw and experienced. At some point, they run into Liifa while near the Durmand Priory! (He wasn't trying to steal artifacts again, I promi-) Ironically, they bug him for directions to Fort Trinity, to which he gives them sass because they're "obviously brand new saplings, who shouldn't be going anywhere near Orr." Eliana pouts at him but they part ways. They run into each other again at Fort Trinity, but Liifa doesn't get recognized due to his hood! He definitely clocks them though, and so does Ipos from the Binding. <<

Flash forward to the time of LWS2, toward the end of it, and Eliana's stuck in her horrible Court situation. Her previous Duke has handed her off to some fucking guy, and she's looking at anything and everything for a way out. Liifa now has the task of actively seeking her out, because Ipos has decided that "only that one will do" right now. So! During one of her late night outings to avoid her ""lovely Knight"", they run into each other yet again. This time, Liifa offers her the Binding - offering the promise of power, the promise that she can make her own way out using the magic from the book. She thinks nothing sinister of it, and accepts.

(Liifa has made his own deal with Ipos prior to this conversation: that, afterward, he will not remember this sweet but naive sylvari, so he doesn't have to wonder what becomes of her as time goes on. [Dude already had a small crush on her lol])

FROM THERE!! Eliana has a Bad Time :) She's got a demon in her ear and only the wind at her back, and she ends up becoming very paranoid and scared thanks to Ipos's influencing as time goes on. She ends up running away to Lion's Arch, and beginning to partake in piracy after a Pirate Captain recognizes the Binding on her hip. (Captain Evander Bleakmane, Tres's character! ♥) She joins his crew, and he kind of underhandedly attempts to help her keep her head on straight. She ends up flirting with his first mate, Ambrose Teeling ♥, a lot... Oopsie!! they're smooching now :3 Another oopsie, Ambrose tells her a lovely heartfelt "i love you" and she panics about it. but!! She promises that she'll return in the future,, at least to say hi, if nothing else is possible for them by then.

She ends up floating over to Captain Zell's crew; where she has a small affectionate fling with Prism Fadebrine, and meets Marchosias! A Wolf. A Normal, Regular Wolf. Definitely Not A Demon In Disguise. but!! Marchosias is a sweetboy and loves Eliana and helps her start to identify what is Ipos's influence and what is her own thought!! :D

[During all of this, Liifa is off mucking around and doing his silly little time-waster things. He actually starts to get more involved with Talia Reavefade's crime syndicate, and becomes an integral part of a Very Important Mission!!]

Eliana steals something from someone she shouldn't during one piracy outing, and gains the attention of Palawa Joko, because That Thing Is Rightfully His and whatnot!! :) She dips on Zell's crew, hoping to at least take the heat off of them - but also starts researching what she can on the Binding. She discovers that, throughout history, a lich has been carrying it. So maybe another lich is what she needs to disconnect from it ... she thinks it's a great idea to get captured! Maybe she can trade This Silly Trinket for some help! :)

it does not work that way. ♥ She gets captured, brought to Gandara, and Joko has a fun little conversation with her before deciding that she'd be of much better use to him, Awakened. Joko sees her connection to the Binding, and forces her to make a deal with the demons inside - to give up all of her memories in exchange for raw power. Joko's only trying to make a soldier out of her - a tool and nothing more. Ipos, in the Binding still, freaks the fuck out about this turn of events, and promptly drags Liifa halfway across Thyria and into the Binding, while Liifa's in the middle of that Very Important Mission. (That's a loose-end that'll haunt him later!!)

This is around when they properly meet! Liifa knows that he gave her the Binding, but doesn't remember any of his emotions around that point, or meeting her before that point. At first, they're very much at odds with each other. He is very annoyed and stressed out about all of this - seeing as he's in Joko's fucking house while there's still a bounty out on his head from the elder lich, AND !! this plant girl is so confidently stubborn that this will work out in the end!! he absolutely thinks that she's insane!!

but they talk! they get better acquainted with each other and start to work together despite their reservations. The truth is, she doesn't know what she's in store for in Gandara, and he's at least somewhat familiar with Joko's games and goals. She introduces herself as Flower because that's what Joko's been calling her, but something tells Liifa that that isn't her actual name. He leaves it be for now, though.

There's also the case of Alana; an ancient Sunspear hero who's now a lich, kind of living in Joko's house and giving him shit while they secretly feed the Sunspears information on the Mordant Crescent's movements, so they can continue to evade them. (Alana is the Hero of Nightfall in my personal AU, and simply a Nightfall companion for collab AU's!) They also tune in to help Flower, occasionally commenting on how they remember that "a Sunspear first carried that same book." Liifa keeps convincing himself that they aren't talking about him, but they are. That's its own whole thing.

And so!! Shenanigans ensue!! Flower only knows Liifa as a voice from the Binding for a while, since he risks exposure by hopping out of it at any point. so he doesn't! Eventually they figure out how to wrangle her memories back from Ipos, too. So Liifa then knows her as Eliana, although Joko continues to call her Flower aksjdnjdfh

ALSOOOO !!! here's a brief change of pace via a snippet from one of their writings together:

Eliana had a soft, pleasant smile, gently tilting her head to the side as she stared at him. Liifa uncertainly pinned one ear back, raising a brow in question. Her smile widened as she giggled. “Sorry for staring, I just think you’re pretty. I haven’t seen you before now.” His ears flicked up as he fumbled for words, awkwardly resting his left arm behind his back as he thought about his posture, how he must look at the moment- “Oh, right, ah… Well, as you can see, nothing like Ipos.” He joked, shrugging as he looked out the window. She giggled again, and Liifa felt something in his chest constrict. “Oh, of course! Absolutely nothing like that raven,” she chimed in, casually patting on the bed next to her. “Come on, you don’t have to stand all the way over there.”

once he's Out of the book once, it ends up happening more and more often. :> Only ever in the safety of Eliana's "room" in the palace, but still! She pesters him into snuggling with her some nights and he awkwardly obliges her. ^^ This definitely endears them both to each other a lot more!! They start to take little outings onto the roof, too, to look at the stars some nights! It's one of Eliana's favorite things to do while they're stuck there, trying to plan their future escape.

There is a point where, uh !! Eliana doesn't bring back the Commander's head for Joko, and he's furious about it because she Didn't Even Try. :) This part is very fun, because Liifa comes out of the Binding in full shroud because Joko's threatening to end her life for good. He doesn't appreciate that!! - The problem, is that Eliana's terrified for Liifa's safety. She,, very nicely asks him to just,, retreat to the Binding :') He hates this!!! ABSOLUTELY HATES THIS!!! but he does, only because he's thinking up a plan.

Smash cut to uh, Eliana's dead for a minute, Ipos is trying to steal her soul still, (and Liifa's,) and Liifa's trying to figure out how to bring someone back from the dead without accidentally tying their lifeforce to his and turning them into, essentially, his phylactery.

Even with everything in the Binding, he can't :') so! He sucks it up! and uhh!!!!!!! Revives her!!!!!! BUT THERE'S A WHOLE THING WITH THIS PART OKAY OKAY THIS PART IS SO IMPORTANT. THIS IS SO IMPORTANT TO ME AND ABOUT THEM.

Liifa does his healing thing, and pulling for her lifeforce and whatnot, right?? right?? (jingle jangle jingle this is important i prommy) Instead of reaching the whole way to bring her back, Liifa only reaches halfway. This is something that he never exactly talked to her about - the possibility of her dying, and them getting out meaning that he would have to revive her and bind her to him in the same way that Joko's done to her. So he's hesitant. He doesn't like doing this. He only reaches halfway in order to give her a choice. (She's stuck in limbo due to Binding shenanigans, also. that might be an important detail to this too FHSJGKJF) So he only reaches out to her, he doesn't drag her along. Her whole life has pretty much been having every choice taken from her, or made for her. So someone else giving her a choice, and meaning it, is a very big deal for her!!

She reaches back, he brings her back; they're both exhausted and Liifa worries that he's made a huge mistake, but she reached out to him as well. That has to count for something. and it does!!

Bonus: i like to think that lich / phylactery bonds between people also means that they can feel each other's emotions! :D so i use this headcanon a lot lol. This unintentionally does wonders at bonding them closer together though!! (And as time goes on, they end up becoming one hell of a battle-couple because they just get so in-tune with each other!)

Eliana's coming back from the dead is very noticed, however, and Joko decides to let them have their little game, for now. She's still Awakened, and technically has the pull of two different liches going on now. (Liifa, again, hates this and tries to be as ambivalent as possible as to not unintentionally influence her on anything.) She still gains the title of The Desert Rose, forced into becoming Joko's righthand enforcer against any would-be upstarts.

Once the ending of Long Live the Lich comes around, she's forced to fight the Commander right before they can fight Joko. They're still placed in the throne room; and they cut her down once before Joko decides that he's going to join the fight. Making it a 2v1, not in favor of the Commander. ((debatably ofc! if it's an AU with someone else then there could be 2 Cmdrs in there or anything like that, i'm just working based off of my personal AU here!! ♥))

This is where Liifa sees an opening for a make-or-break plan. He takes his chances, leaping out of the Binding in full shroud, and immediately telling the Commander to focus on Joko; that he'll handle Eliana. (The Commander does not know who Eliana is lmao, but picks up that he's referring to The Desert Rose.) Liifa doesn't exactly fight her, but he does effectively talk her down as much as he can while Joko's distracted! :D

as we know Joko goes down, Aurene has a snackie -- they can finally leave!! Liifa kinda assumes that they'll part ways, but he also, just. Doesn't. Go Anywhere. not without Eliana at least! So they end up sticking together, and with the Commander's team for a minute, all the way up and through the end of Icebrood Saga!

they're gay the whole way through, though. They are ABSOLUTELY channeling that entire post about "not romantic, not platonic, but a secret third thing: so devoted that the lines blur." !!!! That's this entire stage !!!!

they're still at that stage to this day, but i have PLANS...

woag i gotta look this shit up. ok hikari and aoi are out since they use a different magic system (and hikari's a dumbass anyway)

lia - prestidigitation. she has a complicated relationship with it bc the whole thing that got her into magic was someone showing her prestidigitation as a child. but she idolised it so much that she never actually managed to work out how to cast it. and now its a bit of a mental block. but she still has that like. childlike wonder at it, even if she pretends not to. as for regular spell... probably her customized advanced version of plane shift that takes her to a different universe entirely. she likes a lot of magic but thats the one that keeps her from getting bored forever.

nest - shocking grasp. she likes to lightning punch people. as for proper spells, probably fire shield? she gets to burn people who punch her. i think nest would cheat in fistfights.

violet - mage hand. a third hand for sorting?? unstoppable. as for proper spells, i cant not pick time stop for a clockwork girlie. she would probably not put it to good use but she would love it.

valyrie - paladins dont get cantrips. she would think druidcraft is pretty tho. as for her own spells, can she pick one of her channel divinity options? not really a spell, but the ability to strike the fear of god into the hearts of her enemies and reduce their speed to 0 while she approaches to kill them is too good to pass up. thats her favourite.

dr. marion - i think her favourite cantrip is also prestidigitation, just bc of how versatile it is. she uses the cleaning version medically and had to add it into her improvised healing spells to sanitize wounds before sealing them. as for her favourite spell, cure wounds. the first healing spell she managed to replicate with arcane magic. shes proud of it! even if the prototype version killed a guy on accident. (not her fault!)

cassidy - rangers also dont get cantrips. she would also like druidcraft tho, bc its the kinda shit her wife did before she died. as for regular spells, idk. i think she'd like commune with nature just bc like. its peaceful. she wouldnt even necessarily be looking for anything. just hanging out with plants and shit is good. peaceful. she can bask in her own melancholy.

adela - power word kill.

elyria - favourite cantrip is Friends. shes a manipulative little shit so she'd use it to give her the edge if she needs to talk her way through something real quick. oh and she would LOVE shadow blade. a weapon that doesnt leave evidence and gives you advantage in the dark? AND does a lot of damage? she'd use that shit all the time. and claim it's somehow holy.

étoile - cantrip would be sword burst. her magic is purposely not very gestured, so being able to just have swords rotate around her is a very cool visual and she agrees. as for proper spells, feeblemind. bc i like to imagine that her specific version causes the effect of reducing INT and CHA to 1 by transforming your body into a doll. she thinks its very useful. though crown of stars is a close second.

caroline - dancing lights! she thinks theyre pretty and it was the first spell she learned. and her favourite regular spell is teleport, bc she can go home no matter how far away she is!

as for emily, my favourite cantrip is toll the dead and my favourite spell is imprisonment!
