i've got a minute so i'm gonna share a headcanon of mine

Luke is the chosen one, not Anakin

when I was a kid, watching these movies for the first time, the parallels between father and son were fucken clear to me; that moment when Luke looks at Darth Vader, his father's, cut off hand he realizes that he is about to repeat destiny somehow

Anakin keeps getting told he is the chosen one, but we're never shown the prophecy. as a kid i assumed the prophecy was like 'he gets his hand cut off and he's from tatooine'

guess what!

yeah, you're not new here, you know what.

so the prophecy was misinterpreted. though, this is entirely based on the movies, extra canon materials may have muddied the waters, my interpretation of George's story, those six movies, is that Anakin was thought to be the chosen one, meant to bring balance to the Force and peace to the galaxy... but its actually Luke.
