the other night, cant remember when exactly, i had a dream that would make such a fun game. fun as in slightly stressful and unsettling. (remembered just now cause i opened up google docs and saw my notes for it)

and while i am still thinking 'what if' about a romance vn with some of my oc's, i might make this one that i dreamed about.

also has romance option. i know this because i was literally playing it in my dream, i remember how i wanted everything to look.

i just need to flesh out what little i have of the story then write it and decide just how many endings there will be. because i got two bad ends in my dream and dream me knew there were many many more

My thoughts on the Billy and Sam storyline ‼️

- bare with me, I got a lot to say about this.

• First of all- I will say I absolutely love and hate this storyline- I love it because I love Sam and Billy, I hate it because some parts felt iffy BUT ANYWAYS.

• Starting in the first movie here- hallway scene. We see two girls walk past Billy as Sid runs into him- after one of the girls pass, another passes and says “Hey christy, wait up!” Christina carpenter!! Anyways- he seems a bit distracted, doesn’t he?

You can see him look away for a moment midconvo- NOW I WILL SAY. This could just be his mannerisms, however, for this let’s say it’s not.

• this would mean that He might’ve had a fling with Christina sometime during his relationship with Sid. Not a shocker, really, considering he didn’t really seem to actually love her.

•Skip forward, Billys dead, Sam learns he’s her father, she’s an adult and has a little sister Tara.

• Sam sees hallucinations of Billy often in reflective surfaces, reason being: he’s her father. Once she knows this, and knows what he did, it causes her to distance from her family and woodsboro as she’s not keen on the idea of being like him.

• Billy kinda acts like herrrr.. “Dark Passenger”, so to speak. [if any of you get this reference I’m forever happy.]

• First time we see Ghostly Billy, it’s in the hospital. And Billy mentions that Sam needs to tell Tara why she’s being targeted. So, Sam does this.

• Later, we see Billy in the car with Sam and he’s being a silly stupid menace. He’s basically just like “let’s fucking stab whoever is doing this to you and your sister! Cmon! Stabby stab!”

• Now, you could interpret this as Billy caring about Sam and Tara. OR you could interpret this as Sam thinking that maybe Billy would actually care if he was around. Either way, this scene makes him a Grey character. As he still wants to commit murder through Sam, he’s suggesting this because it’s his kid in danger. It’s a grey character thing.

• Later, at the end of the movie, Sam sees him again. This time, it’s because her boyfriend Richie is about to murder her. Billy nods over to the knife, and when Sam looks at it then back at him, he kinda gives a nod. Which, could be a nod of approval. Which again, shows that maybe Billy could care about his kid.

• Scream 6. Sam reveals that killing Richie was pretty damn easy, because it meant her and Tara would be safe. However, because of this, she becomes the town pariah. They took Billy’s whole plan, and made it sound like her. Meaning they think she committed all the murders and pinned it on Richie. [which by the way, I didn’t like so much. Redundancy.]

• one thing I wanna mention, I believe it was Gale who mentioned Billy AND stu as killers. Most forget stu, think he was just a lapdog when he was in fact VERY IMPORTANT.

• Anyways. Sam comes across all the robes and knives with the robes and she’s immediately drawn to Billy’s.

• Sam gets her hallucinations back and the first thing Billy says is something like “How cool is this place-” and you can tell by her demeanor she’s unsettled.

• Team Loomis ‼️

• Sam ends up Taking said Robe and knife at the end of the movie to kill the ghostfaces who’re after her because of Richies death

• She doesn’t want to, because then she’s be proving to Billy that she’s a killer just like him. But she needs to survive. She really does.

• She gets a little knife happy, but that’s okay because she’s a Loomis

• TARA is actually the one who gets her to commit the final murder which I think is a slay EBDJSND

• At the very end of the movie, Sam looks at the mask in her hand [Which is billys] and then she drops it. It’s symbolic in a way, showing she’s lowkey kinda over this Loomis shit.

• I LOVE LOVE LOVE this storyline because it shows how Sam grows, and it also gives us a little bit of grey character Billy moment

obsessed with this arc’s intro. very sharp. satirical even. particularly liked the positioning of personal tranquility against revolutionary futures. also “repackaged presents”.

was that… the palisade theme with the same tape-skipping edit as r2pal 20?? deeply unsettling.

thisbe and integrity—i love when something comes with multiple definitions attached. it’s great. also very thisbe to incorporate meanings of integrity that relate to infrastructure and physical cohesion. lowkey feels like the divine pilot version of touch grass

figure resolving “i’ve lived two lies and i’d happily die for the truth”—excellent, we love to see it. a bit of a shift for the blue channel’s overall mortality and self-sacrifice situation. which feels like a good third act turn after the stellar combustor, esp for the upward slant of armor astir.

cori’s SO CLOSE to a playbook change. holy shit. i’m so excited, this has been over her shoulder literally since she came onscreen (checks watch) a full year ago

the repairmen gambit is one of my favorite gambits but there is nothing i want more for the a-plot of this arc than for someone to get pulled into competing in the battle royale. love a big grandiose tournament arc. love to be tossed into the thick of things.

on the b-plot side: yeah it does really feel like something is going to go catastrophically wrong. real pzn graveyard for heroes kinda setup. although figure’s dropped the “die for the truth” hook, so… maybe we won’t get an exact mirror lmao

the temple of the threshold sounds very beautiful

i do think… like, absolute maximum one more arc after this, right? i could listen to palisade forever probably, but it does feel like we’re moving toward a conclusion here, with the blue channel pressing both lone marble and the temple. we’re still in scene-setting for this arc for sure, but truly anything could happen

something to keep Weasley from getting antsy

would nevermore and weaslsy be good allies with each other both having psychological trauma from being stuck in monotonous loop for a good majority of their life so they have common interests or are their differences too great for it to work

how does weaslsy feel about fans of his shows and by extension due to his target audience kids

(also something from me but I like the fact that ruth has the more extreme personality out of the anvil wings pair. haven't seen the leading lady being the more out there of the two when it comes to parings around here. (then again there a lot I've haven't seen in the old backlog yet))

Wesley doesn't necessarily get antsy. He's rather laid back...which is very unsettling for a variety of reasons.

Nevermore and Wesley behind the scenes get along great. Both have god complexes and a talent for manipulation. Plus they love making jokes so there's that.

Wesley does enjoy having fans...especially since it helps with luring in some victims to see what colors they make. Kids are avoided though. Even Wesley has a heart.

As for ladies being the more "out there of the two", that's a thing I imagine a lot of new people think is rare around here. Truth be told, the OG couple is Red Beans and Nana is the most out of pocket gal around here. She is VERY into her farm boy.

Nova can also be very extreme and out of pocket. She's way more expressive than Pluto for sure.

Glitter and Guilt is def an outlier story in the Rockyverse which is lowkey funny because so many people see it and go into my other stories expecting the same sort of themes. BUT NOPE-Sweetheart and Bitterbat are pattern breakers.

Oh looky, I just watched something that all the cool folks are into. Or, were into?

THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS...

It's been out for two months now, so I'm - as usual - late to the party.

Kind of like a barfed up '90s utopian scholastic hodgepodge purgatory with an ominous and grim underbelly, probably an indictment of capitalism making one's desires unattainable and one's subsequent pursuit of such desires a one-way ticket to insanity... Or maybe not. The characters are instantly likeable and cool, and work off of each other so well. The variety in design, even within the characters themselves... just so neat- It's also lowkey funny. "Gloink" is such a late '90s kids show/game word for something.

As someone who grew up in the late '90s/early '00s, this was right up my alley. My immediate thoughts were basically... This is a lot like colorful (and sometimes educational) PC games of the era, wacky textbook covers, things like I SPY, and a Dreamcast-exclusive game called PEN PEN TRIICELON. One of creator Gooseworx's influences on the project was a CGI Japanese children's show called POPEE THE PERFORMER. In some ways, POPEE does kinda fit into this wild and varied aesthetic that was so prevalent in a pre-9/11 era.

I particularly appreciated its veering towards a dream-like... Maybe, trance? Almost? I love it when animated media, and most media in general, takes on a sort of irreality, and can sometimes be ambiguous as to what's happening and what isn't. Particularly this scene towards the end where protagonist Pomni is running through endless sterile rooms, until briefly coming across a boxy late '90s PC. The void, too... Visceral flashbacks to being at my Compaq in, like, 2000-01... Playing a game where there was nothing beyond the environment I was in. Just endless sky and nothingness. That kind of thing always brought an eerieness to that era's games, to me. Hey, that's why the "Lethal Omen" game from GEMINI HOME ENTERTAINMENT really worked for me.

This sort of unsettling spin on past, and possibly outdated aesthetics, has arguably been done to death. Especially after the explosion in analog horror and FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S, but I'm quite impressed with AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS' more digital yet-still-vintage take on this sort of thing. Wait... Stuff from 2000 being vintage? That's a dreadful thought... It's also cool to see more productions embrace how early CGI can be unnerving for some, too. An underrated aspect of early features and shorts, for sure. This married a lot of that, and I appreciated it for doing so.

tng update time. last night we did "heart of glory" and "arsenal of freedom."

heart of glory verdict: REALLY GOOD. i knew going in this was a worf episode but i was NOT expecting the scene at the beginning with geordi! that could have easily been its own episode but it was SO COOL to see how he sees finally - i had been wondering about it.

after watching tholian web i decided it was silly for them to go to that other ship where life support was failing with NO SPACE SUITS. i guess it wouldn't have helped in the event the ship blew up but come on

klingon death ritual a little unsettling at first but actually later i decided it was metal as hell.

worf's dilemma was so good. like in the naked time when he went THAT WORLD IS ALIEN TO ME NOW you can see that he's at odds with both where he came from and where he is now and doesn't feel totally at home in either, which, frankly, is spockcore (honorific). he instantly shot up several spaces in my tng character ranking

and his solution was so good! like, these wackos dont represent what he really wants because they arent Real Klingons theyre extremists or whatever. ik it's a little bit of a copout in some ways but it was kind of nice for him to be able to form his own, third answer to "who's better, humans or klingons." like sometimes the answer is neither are really connecting with me rn im just gonna keep truckin

i will say that there were hints of people doubting worf's loyalties here and him straight up killing that other dude put it all to bed. dont EVER question him again. i'll kill you.

also lowkey racist when that klingon picked the little girl up and everybody went to pieces :/

him promising he was just being polite and didnt want to leave the enterprise lol. everybody stared until he promised TWICE. so true. possibly my fav tng episode so far

also this could've been a tos episode. imagine if bones was in a little hole and spock and kirk had to set his broken arm and unbury him and keep him warm. i know that's just the empath. shut up

kind of dumb of her not to mention she had a leg wound when it was quite literally covered in dirt. girl come on

anyway i liked her acting in this scene. ultimately i've just decided i'm glad they didn't cuddle because this is one of the first times i've seen her as a person and not a Woman(tm). the other time was that other episode where she was nerd out about uh...oh man now i'm mad i can't remember. she was nerding out about some science thing or some famous science person in an episode we watched not too long ago and i liked that too. and then forgot to make a note of it. rip dr crusher :(

ALSO. sorry. if they were getting shot at it was dumb of them to send data alone down into the hole. everybody should have gone into the hole for safety. or data should have pulled picard up so they had an extra phaser. cmon

anyway i liked geordi's thing in this ep. that guy invalidating him was horrible and i'm glad he got to have the last word and also get his moment. GEORDI DESERVES A MOMENT. the ship splitting up is still fucking hilarious to me though. there's so many logical problems with this it makes your head spin

also, once again, there should NOT !!! be children on a starship. insane.

next i am doing "symbiosis" on my own and then tomorrow we're doing "skin of evil" together.

i know of and support the skrull steve conspiracy-ists but lowkey i also wish for bucky skrull because i hate the OOC bucky that appeared in fatws since the writers are clearly part of those "bucky has no personality" people and decided to ignore any of his actual MCU characterization. the real S&B are on the moon or whateva, idk much abt the SI stuff i'm just trying to think of how CATFA+CATWS characterized SB can come back again

ugh same. that man isn't bucky. the only scene that felt anywhere close to in-character was the scene where ayo is showing that the trigger words are gone, seb acted that wonderfully. the rest is unwatchable to me. they dudebro'ified him and it's just so off-putting and unsettling, espec after how soft we'd seen him become. that's just not bucky, my brain refuses to accept that.

you know they didn't actually watch any of the movies???? the whole show was based on seb and mackie interviews plus that on scene where bucky asks sam to move his seat forward and sam says no. like that's it. it explains so much, like it's very much like their dynamic in interviews and very little like the characters we have come to love.

It's okay, I started it. I deserved what I got. Which was staying up until 3:30am wrapped in vampire angst. Decide to just go all out and read the burning Venice chapter of B&G in bed -- I won't ruin our Saturday too, but can I just say... I can't believe Anne sat down to write this scene not once, but twice!

I have so many half-baked meta thoughts right now about it feels to have failed as a parent/provider, to have tried to do everything that you thought was right and still you couldn't protect your child from the world.

And also lately I've been pondering how Lestat never really seemed to get closure for Claudia. Obviously, Marius's loss of Amadeo and Lestat's loss of Claudia are very different in context, but thinking about how Anne based both Marius and Lestat on Stan and just this ongoing theme of paternal grief, loss, betrayal, humiliation, and questioning (why did it happen? was it my fault, and if it was, how much was my fault? are they suffering/did they suffer? etc).

Anyways one more thought before I go to bed- I lowkey wish there was another antagonistic force in totk besides the yiga as they're all bark and no bite. Really- it's painfully easy to know just who's a yiga and they're really easy to fight once you know their moveset. It doesn't help that they're not intimidating at all and are more of comedic villains than anything, which isn't bad! It's just, I would like an antagonist or organization to actual bite to them besides just Ganondorf.

Ganondorf is legit carrying so much of the antagonistic energy all so many games that I'm like! Damn! Someone help out the guy he's struggling over here! But seriously, part of me wishes that nintendo took notes from twilight princess when it was time to create the yiga clan. Take Zant for example, he can be a comedic villain at times but more than anything he's very intimidating! He's unsettling! He brings so much energy to his scenes that I would argue he nearly rivals Ganondorf in several parts.

Botw and totk- in my opinion- should've done something along those lines to add more tension to the post-calamity world. Monsters are one thing but they're not a true threat with motivations, in reality- besides the monsters hyrule is pretty calm and the yiga don't threaten that at all despite having nefarious intentions. Twilight princess worked so well when it came to the twili because they were an antagonistic force that worked well without Ganondorf and worked AMAZINGLY with him! That should've been the yiga! I mean- you're telling me that there's an entire group of people in hyrule who actively want to destroy the royal family and serve Ganondorf. People who are willing to become extremely loyal and train endlessly to serve their masters means. There's people in hyrule like that and you're telling me that Ganondorf wouldn't take advantage of that??

It's such a good opportunity! You could show how Ganondorf has weaved himself into hyrule despite Rauru's best efforts and that there's so much more at stake. You could perhaps show a division amongst people who adore zelda and those who are beginning to distrust her. That and so much more!!

#totk spoilers #one of my only criticisms is that I wish there was more diversity between differing regions when it came to the state of the world #all of the npcs just start sounding kinda the same after awhile about how much they love the princess zelda and just having the same- #perspective no matter the region #what if there were some people who still found it hard to bounce back from the knowledge of the calamity? #what if there were people who distanced themselves entirely from zelda as they felt she just couldn't protect them #what if there were people who want to trust and follow zelda but history burned into them the consequences of that #its just. give different spheres of people and not just that endless loyalty amongst an entire nation please god nintendo

idk how this is gonna sound cuz its 4am and im miserable but i think about the scene where shigaraki destroys chisaki’s arms and how much it was framed... as not a victorious moment. for shigaraki it definitely was but the overrall scene was lowkey.... disturbing and horrific and chisaki’s scream at the end was so unsettling. it was poetic justice of course, like the arms he’s used to hurt so many were gone but it didn’t feel... good at the same time. one of the worst villains getting his comeuppance and it just wasn’t any victory to be felt during it. at least for me.

shadow headcanons feat. crushes.

he is oblivious as god all fuck i’m so sorry

no literally he doesn’t. he doesn’t underSTAND it. this...fondness for another person. the way they stand out to him in a way he can’t explain. why does he think about them so much... why does he feel so drawn to them... what is this feeling,,

he’s just completely unaware, until he IS aware. and then it’s internal screaming. because. because how do you be shadow and also harbor such vulnerable feelings for another person. it wouldn’t work... he should just distance himself. he doesn’t have time for this kind of thing. this kind of thing just doesn’t happen to him. he’s not designed for it. oh, but it’s so much easier said than done.

he stares. he can’t help it. it does not help that he has resting bitch face and also looks intimidating af, so he just looks like he’s glaring at his crush when in actuality he’s just obliviously admiring them.

he remembers all the little things. shadow has a photographic memory and commits all the details to it. any new information his crush shares about themself or demonstrates, he will remember and keep in mind. he’s like that in general with the people he cares about, but will likely take extra steps to ensure things are to his crush’s liking. favorite music? he’ll put it on for them. favorite coffee order? he’ll make sure to order that. he’s just... very observant and always has those bits of information ready.

he... worries. that’s the unfortunate emotional baggage that comes with him and the people he cares for. he is insanely protective to a level that can maybe get a little unsettling. because he will show up out of nowhere to rescue his crush. how did he know they were in danger and needed help? don’t worry about it. : ) (he wont answer either way. he just Knows)

he likes seeing his crush happy and content... he will do things to make that happen. nothing extravagant. just subtle things. seeing them happy makes him feel happy.

he lurks. think of him like a distant house cat who is content with just being in the same room and sharing space with you. doesn’t need pets or affection. just wants to be near you.

he’ll be their shoulder to cry on. i’m a real sucker for shadow comforting his love interests, because by god does he understand sadness and emotional pain. by god does he understand what it feels like to be scared, to be suffering, to be lost in your mind. and he’ll be whatever they need him to be in that moment because he loves them and will do anything to ease their pain. 

he’s not... the best at expression his feelings. everything he does, its subtle and lowkey. he expects nothing back from them. he doesn’t really care if his feelings aren’t returned. it makes things easier anyway.  

he’ll try new things because of them. he’ll listen to new music, watch a new tv series, try a new hobby. he might not even enjoy it that much, but because they like it then he’s willing to try. try and understand why they do. and maybe.. bond with them over it.

he doesn’t really get all that jealous. like, he CAN get jealous for sure, but he doesn’t express it. he just gets kinda sad and internalizes. may disappear from the scene because if he doesn’t take his mind off it he’s gonna start spiraling. 

he’ll flirt... he’s oblivious to it though. he’s the type of person to unintentionally kabedon someone and not realize the effect it has. or just be in their bubble suddenly without thinking abt it. he’s like. good at flirting without meaning to be dfjsdkfs.

The Kindness of Strangers

This season is so depressing. I literally got butterflies in my stomach from nervousness. Each episode is like “Arthur’s gonna die, ArThUr’s gOnNa Die, ARTHUR’S GONNA DIE”. WE GET IT! Ffs, we get it.

Poor, clueless Arthur is gonna die, Mordred will kill him, Merlin will kill Morgana, Gwen will be a widow, and Merlin will have failed his destiny. Did I miss something? Oh wait, except.. We already knew Mordred would kill Arthur from way back in season 1; we knew Arthur would be his own bane and Gwen would rule over Camelot from Arthur’s Bane (when we were told, again, that Arthur would die and we saw for the first time Gwen acting as regent in Arthur’s absence); and we knew Merlin would be Morgana’s undoing from season 4, at least. 

So, that begs the question: what did we learn from season 5 exactly that we didn’t already know? What is the point of this season at all? It’s so overwhelmingly dark for no reason. I can’t watch more than one episode at a time. I’m starting to miss evil Gwen since those episodes were pretty much filler. The non-filler episodes are emotionally draining. But are there truly any non-filler episodes? Wasn’t this episode a filler episode in its own way? We learnt nothing new. Mordred will turn on Arthur but we can’t understand why and the show doesn’t seem to be interested in letting us know. The battle of Camlann was the only new piece of information we learned this episode.

The entire season amounts to nothing, really. Character and relationship development are sacrificed for the sake of the plot, but there is no real plot to speak of. The characters are stagnant - or even regressing, their relationships are stagnant as well. It’s unsettling watch these once great, lively characters act like stand-ins in their own show. Every character apart from Merlin, including Arthur, feels like a puppet who doesn’t know they’re in a play. They’re doomed and they don’t know it. They’re powerless to this great destiny and everything they do is in vain. Their priorities are all wrong. The characters don’t feel like characters at all anymore. It’s like the real Camelot has been replaced with a cheap imitation, and the characters are two-dimensional AI generated estimates of the real deal. It’s so sad and unsettling. 

Arthur is happy - Camelot is doing well, Gwen’s back, he’s happily married. He arranged a romantic picnic and breakfast in bed for her. Merlin said Arthur’s never been happier and Gwen agreed that he’d come a long way. We get it, you want us to be extra sad when he dies. Don’t worry, it’s working.  But if Morgana is out there, what was Arthur’s plan? She declared war in this episode, but shouldn’t Arthur have done more to prevent it from happening? Did he think she’d just disappear?

A quick word about Arwen: Why? Why does Gwen not have any lines? Why is she practically ornamental? Arthur arranged a picnic and breakfast in bed, but we don’t actually see the picnic or them in bed together. Arthur did things for Gwen, and he was sweet to her, but there was no kiss or touch, no cute exchange between Gwen and Arthur - it was as if Gwen was still evil. Gwen and Arthur spoke more to Merlin than to each other. In fact, in both scenes, Arthur lowkey bullied Merlin the whole time while Gwen’s face expressed her exasperation and lowkey disapproval. Just let Gwen have her fucking moment. This is what I meant about the characters being like extras in a play. Arthur and Gwen are there because they must be - they set the stage for Merlin, make it look real. Their actions, thoughts, feelings, agency are entirely irrelevant however. 

On to the rest of the episode, RIP Finna. I cried when she died. I really liked her, she was so sweet! Why must everyone die this season? I thought Merlin wouldn’t even get the chance to meet with her because of Gaius. WTF Gaius? You thought Merlin was in danger because Finna knew who he was? So many people do! And their job is usually to help Merlin! You really are an old fool.

Back to Mordred, why mustn’t Merlin trust Mordred? Is treating a young boy who just wants to help Merlin fulfill his destiny with such derision wise? Won’t it just make things worse? Keep your friends closer, and your enemies closer... and all that.

Why did Morgana take so long to declare war anyway? Why now? Why is she ready now? I can’t keep up with her schemes at all. They make no sense to me. Also, she really has a shitty throne in her dark dungeon? Get a grip, lady. 

I feel so bad for Merlin. He’s never been more miserable even if Arthur’s never been happier. I love his character a lot right now though. He’s grown so wise and tough, yet still so kind. He’s the only thing that matters this season. Until The Disir, Arthur and Merlin were the main event, but now it’s just Merlin - somehow, that’s better, but also not.
