A bard, but with trauma. Someone comfort him please, he’s going through a lot. I really wished the show explored a bit more of his trauma after his encounter with Rience.

raise your hand if you hate that jaskier’s last scene in both seasons was someone telling him he was worthless and unwelcome

suddenly feeling emotions abt jaskier again.
the way geralt has always insisted hes not jaskiers friend, that he needs no one. the way hes disregarded jaskier for all 20 years that they traveled together. the way he was thrown away on the mountain. jaskiers learned that geralt doesnt make friends.
so why is it that he treats everyone at kaer morhen as if they are?
he clearly loves the other witchers, cares for them and protects them. he can understand that- theyre family. he cant stop the pang of pain he feels knowing that he was never close enough to get that.
he clearly loves ciri, slipped into his role of her father despite the years of strict denial and refusal to take the place destiny had demanded of him. he sees the way he dotes on her, makes sure shes fed and warm and as comfortable as she can be. an she deserves it, melitele does that girl deserve all the love an care in the world, but it still hurts, knowing that he didnt matter enough to the wolf to be treated half as good as her.
he can see that geralt still loves yennefer, despite their fights and conflicts. he sees how he lingers, how he treats her softly even when hes coping with the things she did. he sees how fast he started to forgive her after coming back through that portal with her. he heard their conversation on that bridge.
it hurt more than he could ever imagine to hear that he wasnt a part of their future.
he can see the way he treats triss, treated mousesack, even the dwarves.
maybe geralt does make friends.
maybe jaskier just doesnt make the cut.

wot show is so obsessed with architecture and tbh i'm not mad about it???
#the number of like. elaborate little symmetrical rooms they have for things to happen in…#part of me is loling but part of me is like. you know what? they've got a theme. respect.#tvblogging#(also i'm just getting to 2x08 now and like. it IS funny being a show-only*)#[*ok technically i read like. two? three? of the books back in like 2020 or something but. they weren't Formative Texts of my Adolescence]#(bc i remember everybody on here was *freaking out* abt‚ i think‚ 2x07)#(and like. in retrospect i guess i understand what that was about! but i gotta admit it didn't quite have the same emotional weight for me)#(even though intellectually i understand it was supposed to)#(i mean i also think i like. often don't get that emotionally invested in romances i see onscreen?)#(not sure if that's fundamental to the medium for me or if it's because everything is so compressed)#(however i AM kinda thrilled abt this season's regendering of Uncommunicatively Angsting Blorbo vs Their Long-Suffering Support Person)#(also honestly i always really love when we don't have to do a whole performative abasing reconciliation situation)#(and someone's just like. look. our relationship is so much more deeply rooted than this one wobble. obviously i'll take you back.)#(i think honestly bc it's like. a confidence fantasy.)#(like you got SO much witcher fanfic where geralt had to‚ like‚ prostrate himself at jaskier's feet)#(to acknowledge the harm geralt had done him and how jaskier deserved so much better etc etc etc)#(and it just felt to me like the writers were really speaking to their own insecurities and what *they'd* personally need)#(bc that interaction would've thrown *them* into a tailspin so obviously it must've thrown jaskier into one)#(and like. that's valid or whatever‚ obviously! but like. sometimes don't you want to imagine what it's like to feel secure instead???)#(like 'actually i know i'm good‚ you know where to find me when you get over yourself and remember you know it too'?)

Sometimes I see posts about Geralt killing (or enjoying killing, or finding it attractive when someone kills, or... you know, like, murder), and being this big, muscly brute about it, and get the most jarring cognitive dissonance. What? Whomst?

I don’t think Jaskier is fully aware of the fact that Geralt is It for him.
I know we aren’t getting Geraskier, (they’re still canon to me) so at this point I just want my blorbo to be able to move on and be happy instead of fucking miserable but the more I think about it, the more I realize that even if he does get chance to be with Radovid… I don't think he would ever be truly happy.
Yes, he could love him, and be happy that he's being treated well, and worshiped and valued, and everything a good relationship should be. Yes, he'd learn to move on as much as he can… but that’s only as much as he can. Geralt will always be with him. Geralt will be a filter for which he perceives affection and how it's given out and received. Everything will relate back to him.
Geralt is love for Jaskier.
It would be doomed. As much as he could learn to love somebody new, it would take far too long to be fair, and even if Radovid fully understood and stuck around because he knew Jask was trying and didn’t mind, even if Jaskier does love him—It’s doomed.
He couldn’t do it. Because everything they do reminds him of Geralt even though they weren’t even together… but he can’t escape it. It could even be years down the road with zero contact with Geralt (because that’s the only way he could truly even begin to move on) and he would be miserable.
So he’d leave Radovid. Because it’s not fair. And he’d decide he’s better off having one night stands and casual affairs that last no longer than a month for the rest of his life.
And maybe he’d go back to Geralt. Because he sure as hell can’t live without him if the past however long it’s been has taught him anything.
Geralt would be so mad at him for leaving but it’s not like they haven’t gone a long time without seeing each other/not contacting each other before. It’s just been a while since then… And Geralt needs him too, how could he say no? He missed him horribly.
And I think at that point, Jaskier would tell him why he left. Geralt deserves to know. Because at this point, if Geralt will take him back, what’s unrequited love? It doesn’t matter. He should have known it wouldn’t matter. And really, he should have done this a lot sooner, maybe he could have gotten some fucking peace—
“You should have.”
“I should have what?”
“You should have done this sooner.”
“Yeah, that’s literally what I just said. Why are you— Geralt? What are you— Gods, that’s unfair, don’t look at me like you’re about to—”
Kiss me.
He should have done this much, much sooner.

I have seen S3!! It cost me dearly (oh god my sleep schedule and body) but I'm so glad I did because I LOVED IT. so much!! I didn't know they had it in them but aaaaaaaa. Spoilers under the cut!
- I loved the relationships. I LOVED THEM. I could come on board with Geralt-Yen, I really enjoyed both Geralt-Ciri and Yen-Ciri (she's her mum 😭) and Ciri-Jaskier was everything I ever wanted. There were other things happening this season (👀) but that was the absolute highlight for me + Geralt actually showing that he cares for Jaskier and their relationship f i n a l l y being portrayed as the deep and meaningful friendship/bond that it is. I watch the witcher for a lot of reasons but mostly for the found family and VINDICATION aaaaa
- this was such a good Jaskier season, my love, me eternal light, the reason why I fell in love with this show - he had a PLOT, he had his wits, he had agency, he's still so anxious but was there as bait (they!! adressed his trauma in the little ways!) and I love that they went the route of Jaskier telling Geralt about Phillippa, honestly guys, I can die happy now, especially with-
- BI BARD BI BARD BI BARD BI BARD (nearly everything has been said about this, just. This fuels me. I needed this so bad, t h a n k you netflix for going through with what you started in S1). I can't shake the feeling that things are going to end quite badly but then I also. like to whump the bard. sooo, if I end up right.. 👀
- I might have sniffed a little when they made Geralt cry because he didn't want his mum to hurt?? Don't do this to me I am not strong enough, that got me. That really got me.
- Geralt might have murdered some people this seasons (and was SO DOWN to kill Stregebor, I crackled, I love himmmmm) but he was such a good moral compass for Ciri this season? Had so much integrity? Did they actually manage to keep him of his path of neutrality? WISE MAN GERALT? EMOTIONAL DEPTH GERALT??
- Ciri really grew on me this season! They really did her good
- Yen didn't need to grow on me, but ohhhh SHE DID. I loved her storyline. I loved her introspection - family goat Geralt I am crying
- the costumes were not perfect but honestly most of the time they were slaying and Geralts armour is now sooo much better, I'd say, improvements there too!
- black horsie is a Roach too (with subtitles on) I can forgive them
- Otto out there with the plague of '21 ??? Brooooooooo
- Fringilla absolutely deserves to live her best life, yes queen. Also Cahirs first little breakdown??
- so many book scenes I enjoyed gosh YES. I already said that but the Jaskier&Ciri one guys I melted-
- the pacing felt at times a little weird? With weird interceptions of scenes at times, like the wild hunt one at the end of episode 3(?). But that was just a minor thing that made me go. Hmm? 🤨
- I LOVE THAT VALDO IS JUST A GUY. He is just a guy! A funny little man that sings the equivalent of medieval, sappy, cliched boyband songs about love, ppfpfpf. Jaskier you PETTY bitch it's like wanting the Taylor Swift of the continent to die and I love him for it - this is the first season that I could just. watch again? right after finishing??? what a quality improvement!!

i really wish the amount of love jaskier gets from the fandom was reflected in the show
every time you open your dash you’re probably bombarded by jaskier appreciation posts because this fandom fucking loves him and yet somehow all the show does is treat him like he’s disposable when he’s really really not
what makes matters worse is that he isn’t treated like this in the books so why the fuck is it like that in the show? jaskier deserves so much better

Round 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda Under Cut
Casca
She is part of a weird fucked up love triangle with two dudes. All three of them are honestly kind of terrible for each other but she gets shoved aside in favor of the two dudes in most fics and is not allowed to grow past the toxic relationships of her past. Also she’s a cis woman who dresses pretty masculinely (because she’s in a mercenary band) so she gets type casted as the mean lesbian friend, when she’s straight in canon
I've seen more than one Yaoi Shipper say that Casca should have died during this one big canon event as opposed to being assaulted by one of the people in the Yaoi Ship, which of course conveniently would remove her from the narrative and as an obstacle to said Yaoi Ship. Aside from that specifically, though, I think it's particularly cruel to imply that being killed is a better outcome than being a victim of SA, and is an example of the contempt fandom on the whole has for female characters who act traumatized - particularly when both male characters in the ship have similar trauma and its never implied they should have died rather than be assaulted.
She's an incredibly interesting character in her own right with really good dynamics and parallels to Griffith and Guts, and the way those three play off of each other is integral to the story, but most of what I've seen completely ignores her in favor of focusing on only Griffith and Guts
Yennefer
Constantly villainized because one way or another she gets in the way of a MLM ship (though at least one of them would probably be fine with a poly relationship). In the show version of her, her love interest bound her to him via magic, never told her until someone else brought it up despite it the bond causing them to meet over and over, her love interest didn’t understand why this upset her and brushed it off and still has never apologized for it because apparently it was the only way to save her life, she had better chemistry with Jaskier (the other half of the MLM ship) and had a semi-decent rivals to frenemies thing going on, the show took away her powers (which never happened in the books) to have her go on a pointless quest to get them back that worsened her relationship with her love interest because they had her try to kill her love interest’s adopted child (which now justifies why he doesn’t need to apologize of course), and all of that was after she’d already had an arc regarding sacrifice and how power wasn’t really what she wanted.
she's an incredibly powerful mage and drop dead gorgeous and deserved so much better!!! justice for yen
God forbid women do anything. She either gets hate or is ignored, really classic stuff. And she's Geralt's gf but you know, *gestures at geraskier*

El Tango De Geralt ~Geralt x Reader angst~
Another song fic for Geralt? Yes of course. "But Mimi nobody asked for this" you say. Doesn't matter, it's giving me brain rot until I produce it. Yes I am into musicals and that's how i keep coming up with these. You're welcome. If you know Moulin Rouge, I would imagine those settings and characters for this one.
Tumblr media
That damn woman. Every time she shows up, she ruins everything.That absolute hag. You hated that damn witch. Yennefer of Vengerberg. You didn't see her often but when she did happen to be in the same town as you, it was like you no longer existed to Geralt. You didn't know what hold she had over him but it really pissed you off. Geralt was finally back in town to see you but when she showed up, it was like you were invisible.
You knew something was up when Jaskier came to see you, looking for his witcher companion. You were finishing up the rehearsals on a sensual piece for your cabaret group. You were one of the lead performers at the large burlesque establishment and were well known throughout the country.
You hadn't seen Geralt all morning. You figured he'd wanted to rest after riding all afternoon the day before and then spending that night with you, showing you just how much he had missed you. Setting off in search for him, Jaskier not far behind, you paused when you noticed a familiar black horse tied up at the stables across the road. "Jaskier...that's not her horse, is it?" Jaskier followed your gaze and sighed heavily. "Unfortunately yes..she arrived this morning I believe. That's why I've been trying to find Geralt. I want to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid." Jaskier admitted.
Your heart dropped to your stomach and you took off running towards your quarters, praying Geralt was still there. Dread filled you when you found your room empty. You took off again, Jaskier calling out for you when he couldn't keep up. You ignored him and headed back in the direction of your cabaret. Suddenly a familiar smell reached your nose. Lilac and gooseberries...her fucking perfume. You followed the smell until you came to the local baths. You prayed even harder as you searched the building for Geralt. Surely, if he was in here, she would be also.
You rounded a corner and came to a full stop. Your eyes widened in horror as you took in the sight in front of you. Geralt was in one of the large pools...but so was she. Her naked chest was pressed to his, her face inches from his. He made no moves to push her away as her hands ran down his chest. Her lips brushed against his, causing you to let out a choked cry of anger. "Geralt?!" You exclaimed, fury filling you. Geralt seemed to snap out of his trace at the sound of your voice. Surprise made its way onto his face and he moved Yennefer away from him. "Y/N-" he started. But you refused to let him finish. You whirled around just as Jaskier caught up to you. "Ah, finally caught you. Did you find-oh..." He stopped as he took in your anger-filled face and Geralt naked with Yennefer in the background. You pushed past Jaskier, tears stinging your eyes as you ran back to your cabaret.
You made your way inside and immediately were comforted by your dancers. They knew as soon as they saw you what was wrong. "It's okay, honey. He doesn't deserve your tears." One of them, Isa, called over to the men who guarded the doors. "Don't let no Witcher in until Y/N says it's okay." She rubbed your shoulders as you cried. Another one of your girls spoke up. "Listen sweetie, you deserve better. You show that bastard what he's missing and then drop him. He wants some other skank, she can have him. You don't need this."
Wiping your eyes, you realized they were right. Besides, you had a performance tonight and couldn't let this ruin the show. You took a few minutes to calm down and relax and then had everyone prepare for the performance.
As you and the girls were getting ready you heard commotion at the front. As you went out to see what was wrong, Frenchie, one of your male leads, stopped you. "It's him sweetie, he's causin' trouble cause they won't let him in to see you. I don't think you should go out there alone." You smiled softly at him and patted his arm. "Thank you, Frenchie. I'll be alright. I can handle him." You gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek and continued out. You saw one of your guards wiping his bloody lip, three more struggling to hold Geralt. "It's alright, boys. You can let him go." You said, staring coldly at him. He ripped his arms free from their grip and made his way over to you. "Y/N, please let me explain." You held up your hand to stop him. "You have nothing to say to me, Geralt. Clearly you've made your choice. Now, I have a performance to get ready for. I'm sure you and your witch have other things to do." You snapped. Your heart ached to be this cruel to him but you wanted to get over him. You turned back to your guards. "If the Witcher would like to see the performance tonight, he is allowed to enter." "Yes ma'am." They answered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Looking out of the curtains you saw Geralt in the audience. You sighed, knowing this performance was as good as a goodbye to him. You wanted him to know how much he hurt you and this was going to do just that. The soft guitar played as the dancers moved to their places. As the violins chimed in and the tango began, you made your way onto the stage. Frenchie was singing his part in his signature growl. You met Geralt's golden eyes briefly before taking a breath and beginning your part.
Her eyes upon your face
Her hand upon your hand
Her lips caress your skin
It's more than I can stand
The dancers moved and swayed around you. The audience was staring at you intently, deeply invested in the story you were telling.
Why does my heart cry?
Feelings I can't fight
Geralt watched you, realization and guilt forming on his face as it dawned on him that this performance was about him. You stared hard into his eyes as you sang out your words.
You're free to leave me, but just don't deceive me
And please, believe me when I say I love you
The dancers whirled around you as the music sped up. You held Geralt's gaze the entire time. The fire from the lamps lighting the stage danced in your eyes. You felt the heat from your anger rise in you. Tears fell down your face, your teeth clenched tight. Your hands balled into fists as you belted out.
Why does my heart cry?
Feelings I can't fight
You're free to leave me, but just don't deceive me
And please, believe me when I say I love you
Your choir sang out their anguished cries of your chorus, cementing the anger and hurt of both you and your character. Geralt's eyes never left your face as the music intensified and the chorus cried out the ending of the song.
The audience stood as they erupted into applause. The only one who didn't move was Geralt. You glared coldly at him, tears falling steadily now, before whirling around and disappearing from the stage. You knew he would try to follow you, but you just couldn't....
You never wanted to see him or that damn witch again.
If you're still doing the kissing prompts, geraskier and 30.
30. Kiss as comfort
Jaskier saddled up against his side on the log, as the bard always did at night while they sat around the campfire.
Geralt had grown used to listening to his complaints about the cold autumn weather. He barely felt the urge to point out he’d told him numerous times to buy better clothes.
“You feel warm,” Jaskier stated. He leaned his head against Geralt’s shoulder, and they sat there watching the rabbit cook on the skewers stabbed into the ground beside the fire.
The flames licked up into the air, the wood crackling and creating a heady scent.
Geralt shifted his weight, pulling Jaskier flush against him.
“You’re too bony,” he observed.
“Catch me more rabbits and I’ll fatten up nicely,” Jaskier joked.
Geralt hummed. If they had more coin, he would buy more meals for the bard. It would keep him warmer out here in the middle of the wilderness.
He turned the rabbits, catching the paler side of the meat.
“Won’t be long,” he said when Jaskier’s stomach grumbled.
“It’s fine, darling, I can wait.”
It took another ten minutes before the rabbit was ready and Geralt put an extra handful of meat on Jaskier’s portion. He needed all the strength he could get, but he didn’t need to know the witcher was doing it.
Hearing Jaskier moan in delight at eating their simple, warm meal was enough of a reward.
If he watched his jaw working, those lips shining with animal grease as he chewed, then hopefully the bard never found out.
He wanted to kiss those lips, to feel them move against him, but he couldn’t. The bard deserved someone better to be with. Someone who didn’t bring him danger at every turn.
Later that night, they snuggled together in their shared bedroll. It had been many years since they'd slept in their own individual beds.
Geralt lay facing out into the wild dark while the bard slept soundly between him and the fire, his arms wrapped tightly around his middle.
He could feel the little puffs of breath Jaskier made against his neck and each one made him ache with want. When he dreamed these days, it was of little noises of happiness the bard would make when they kissed.
It was a sweet torment, one that had him grumbling to the bard most days when all he wanted to do was the opposite.
He just couldn’t let him know. Witchers were not meant to want anything. Nothing for themselves, at least.
But he did want. He wanted so badly to turn around and place a tender kiss upon Jaskier’s cheek, and yet he couldn’t.
Instead, he counted the days and thought about how much it would be a relief and a curse to say goodbye to Jaskier when they reached the next big town.
The next day, Jaskier woke up late to the smell of freshly cooked eggs and roasted partridge.
“Ooh, what a delight,” he said, stretching his legs and arms out, then sitting up. “A girl could get used to this.”
Geralt hummed, like he always did when he didn’t know what to say that wouldn’t reveal all his secrets.
“Yes, I know, Geralt, it was rather lovely of you. You do such a good job looking after me.”
Jaskier stood up and brushed his hair with his hands, grabbing Geralt’s cloak and wrapping it around himself.
Geralt plated the food and handed it to Jaskier, who took it and then, leaning over him, placed a gentle kiss on his forehead.
It took Geralt’s breath away. The feeling of those soft lips against his rough skin made him forget what he was doing.
He did manage to stand up after, his posture stiff. Jaskier blinked at him slowly.
“You feeling alright?”
“Ye-Yeah.”
Geralt turned around and grabbed his own plate, much smaller than what he had given Jaskier.
Hopefully not noticeably different. His tongue didn’t work at the best of times, but right now he felt like he would blurt out the truth if he opened his mouth.
‘I’m in love with you, Jaskier.’
The words twisted around in his mind while he listened to Jaskier eat.
Like everything the bard did, he was noisy. Over the years, it brought a sense of comfort until the nights he slept alone became unbearable.
Geralt couldn’t let Jaskier know. That would be the end of their friendship and that would break him more than he could even explain.
He could never reveal anything to his friend. Jaskier was his mouthpiece, persuading aldermen to pay the amount they promised and innkeepers to allow a witcher to say.
The bard was a master of charm. Most of the time, anyway.
Geralt had seen Jaskier throw himself at some questionable people over the years and that’s usually when the bard would say something stupid.
‘You’ve got a sexy neck, like a goose.’
Most people would have died of embarrassment, but the bard just kept on going.
The thing about that encounter was how Geralt longed to be the person Jaskier was trying to seduce.
Not just a friend he gave compliments to or placed soft kisses against his forehead to say thanks.
Geralt wanted more. He needed more. He just couldn’t have more.
Nice things weren’t suitable for witchers.
Soft things like Jaskier weren’t meant to give grumpy monsters comfort.
His hands twitched as he picked up a handful of partridge, the plate wobbling in his grip briefly.
Jaskier seemed to notice the movement from the way he raised an eyebrow. It was almost comical if not for how Geralt felt so exposed.
He ducked his head down, staring at the food, and chewed slowly.
The bird meat tasted good, a rare treat after so many days of rabbit. No amount of seasoning could change the fact they had eaten it for every meal since the crescent moon.
Tonight, the moon would be almost full as it rose into the sky. Geralt looked to the sky, seeing it clear, the warmth of the sun spreading across it.
Small birds flew overhead, tweeting in panic. Geralt looked around, searching for signs something was wrong.
And then he smelled it: an acrid smell that told him Jaskier was not happy.
Locking eyes with the bard, Geralt realised his mistake.
Jaskier wasn't only unhappy. He was downright furious.
"You, witcher," he snapped. "You think you can pull the wool over my eyes."
He stood up, marched over the short distance between them and tossed a large piece of partridge onto Geralt's plate.
"Do you think I'm stupid? That I won't notice you serving me more food than you when all I'm doing is walking after you? You're the one fighting monsters day after day."
Geralt glanced down at his plate for only a second, but it seemed to be enough time for Jaskier to launch into another tirade.
"The first time, I thought you'd simply mixed up the plates. Then last night, I was unsure, but I thought you must've been having an off day. And this morning, well, now I know you're doing this on purpose. Am I that much of a liability to you?"
Jaskiers breathing was heavy, nostrils flaring. His heart was beating fast, pumping blood around his veins and gearing him up for a fight.
Not that Jaskier would hit him. Shout at him, yes.
"I'm sorry, I…"
"Why are you doing this to yourself? Do you ever stop to think how I might feel if you died because your body didn't have all the energy it needs to fight off a monster? I couldn't live with that."
Geralt blinked, trying to process what Jaskier was saying.
"I wouldn't die…"
"Oh, no. And all those stories of witchers from yesteryear who died on the path are just bollocks?"
The weight of Jaskier's eyes on him was intense. Geralt bowed his head, the plate he held feeling awkward in his hands.
Jaskier spluttered, "Got nothing to say?"
"Why do you care?" Geralt asked, sounding harsher than he meant it.
Jaskier spluttered, "Care? Why do I care? I'll tell you why, Mr Geralt of Rivia, because I've travelled with you for twenty years and you've never pulled this shit before. Everything has always been fair and equal between us, regardless of your brawn and my charm. Our meals were split 50/50. That was until after Rience and then you started acting weird. What is this, Geralt?"
The scent changed, moving to a deep sorrow.
"Fuck," Geralt muttered under his breath. This was not what he wanted to happen.
"Oh, yeah. Of course. I should've known. I’m a burden and you feel guilty." Jaskier folded his arms. "Well, I won't have it, witcher. You better buck up your ideas. I'm not weak."
"I've never thought of you as weak."
Jaskier scoffed.
"It's true. I don't think you're weak. You're a survivor. You're stronger than most people I know. But I can't lose you."
"That's not up to you."
They stared at each other for a second too long, then Jaskier looked away.
He turned, facing away from Geralt. His hands flexed by his side.
"Jaskier…"
"Don't, Geralt. I've told you that before."
His voice was wavering, thick with emotion. Geralt knew his eyes would be filled with tears, and he didn't want to cause Jaskier to feel that way again.
He'd caused a permanent scar when he'd yelled at Jaskier on that godsforesaken mountain.
And if he hadn't done that, Rience might not have gotten to him.
Geralt closed his eyes and swallowed.
"I love you," he breathed.
When he opened his eyes, Jaskier was still standing away from him, not turning around and looking at him like he expected.
If Geralt couldn't smell the confusion on him, he would have assumed he hadn't heard him.
But Jaskier still hadn't turned around.
He took a step towards him, noting the way his back was rigid.
"I love you, Jaskier. And it's my fault, all of it. If I could only see what I know now back then. I would never have sent you packing. I would never have lost you."
"Geralt," Jaskier said, his voice cracking. "If this is some game."
"It's not," he said, taking the final step between them and wrapping his arms around him. "I love you."
The sob that left Jaskier was choked, but he turned in Geralt's arms, burying his face into the crook of his neck.
His ear was pressed against his cheek and Geralt twisted to press a kiss against it.
Then another against his hairline when Jaskier didn't complain.
The air around them thickened with a sweet smell, happiness slowly overcoming the sorrowful emotions.
Jaskier pulled back slightly, just enough to turn his face towards Geralt and press their lips together.
Time seemed to slow down, hands coming up to cup each other's face, pouring their love into the kiss.
Those lips felt warm and just as soft as they had on his forehead. Each brush of lips—hands slipping into hair, needing each other—Geralt didn't want to let go.
They did eventually part, because Jaskier really needed to breathe. They stood, sharing each other's air, eyes roaming over each other's faces.
There was a small smirk tugging at Jaskier's lips. Geralt felt himself smile in return.
"Well, this was unexpected."
Geralt didn't answer. All he could focus on was the rhythmic beat of Jaskier's heart and the wet shine on his lips.
The heat of him, burning into his skin through their clothes.
His hands moved up and down Jaskier’s upper back, holding him close.
There could never be anything as perfect as this.
It was comforting.
"Geralt," Jaskier said.
"Hmm?"
"Kiss me again."
Without hesitation, Geralt leaned in and their lips touched once more. They melded into one another, and for the first time, everything settled within him.
It finally felt like Geralt belonged somewhere, and it was right here in Jaskier's arms.
Thank you for the prompt. Apologies it took me a bit of time to get round to it, but you're still one of the first to be filled.
Prompt 6
After the mountain, Geralt finds his bard and apologizes, but saying "I'm sorry" just isn't enough. His bard deserves better! He needs to to do more to prove how much his bard means to him! So he'll take him to the coast, just like he asked. But it'll be a surprise :)
Jaskier is just sure Geralt still hates him.
I mean, he won't even tell him where they're going! Why else would he be so quiet all of a sudden?
Too Tempting
This is another Monster March challenge with friends.  I had to keep it under 1k and the prompt was: Fangs.
Teen. Warnings: Demon!Geralt, very mild blood kink. 700 words.
Geralt/Jaskier
---
Jaskier ties the laces at the small of his back with practiced ease. It might be more fun if Geralt helped, but his lover is lounging on the bed and getting some well-deserved rest before he leaves for the night. The contract shouldn’t take too long as he’s just been asked to scare off a man harassing the miller’s daughter, so hopefully they can take advantage of the fact that their rented room has a very sturdy looking bed. He would rather camp under the stars with Geralt anytime rather than go without him, but he still misses the conveniences offered by sleeping in a demon-friendly town. If only the entire continent could be so enlightened.
He dabs a bit of lightly scented oil on his pulse points and looks over at his emerald doublet hanging on the back of the chair. Deciding to ignore it for now, he pads barefoot across the room and slides onto the bed. Geralt eyes him skeptically, so Jaskier just grins and climbs into his lap.
“I thought you were getting ready,” Geralt says, and Jaskier shrugs before settling in with his legs on either side of Geralt’s thick thighs.
“And you were getting focused for your contract, but it looks like we have a bit of time to kill,” he points out.
“Oh whatever shall we do?”
“Two intelligent people like ourselves? I’m sure we can think of something,” Jaskier teases before leaning forward to catch his mouth in a gentle kiss.
They melt together, lips practically made for each other, and Jaskier sighs into the kiss. Geralt growls against him and licks across the seam of his lips. Jaskier opens his mouth to him, sucking on his tongue as Geralt plunders his mouth. His split tongue was odd at first, but now Jaskier yearns for it whenever Geralt’s glamour is in place.
He’s dropped it in the solace of their room, and Jaskier brings his hands up and buries them in his soft wings. Geralt groans as he grips him tightly, his slender fingers stroking through the dark feathers. He longs to rub Geralt between his shoulder blades, to dig his fingers into the sensitive spot where his wings meet, but neither of them would get their respective tasks done if he did.
Still, it’s very tempting. Too tempting, in fact.
Thankfully Geralt nips at his bottom lip, worrying it with his sharp teeth, and Jaskier gets distracted. He slides his tongue into Geralt’s eager mouth, running it across his fangs. It’s soft at first, but Geralt’s tight grip on his waist gets the better of him, and he kisses him roughly, gasping as the tip of a fang catches his tongue.
The copper taste of his own blood floods his mouth, and Geralt whines deep in his chest. Their tongues slide together desperately, as if Geralt is chasing the flavor, trying to get more. Jaskier can’t help pressing his tongue against the fang again, dragging another moan from his lover.
“We can’t afford to get lost in each other,” Geralt whispers shakily as he pulls back, resting his forehead against Jaskier’s.
“I know, Love,” Jaskier sighs breathily. “You have your contract to fulfill, and I promised the innkeeper that I would entertain his patrons tonight. But if we both finish before the moon sinks low in the sky, we should have plenty of time to revisit this later.”
“I plan on revisiting you all night long,” Geralt says with a chuckle. Then his face softens and he adds, “I’ll be careful. I promise.”
“And I shall hold you to that…before holding myself to this,” Jaskier teases as he grinds his hips down, their half-hard pricks crushing together through way too much fabric.
“Imp,” Geralt says softly.
“Demon,” Jaskier quips right back. Geralt rolls his eyes before kissing him one last time. Jaskier’s heart is swelling with affection - and his trousers swelling as well - by the time they both head out for the night.
The Love We Choose
Geraskier ModernAU
a big THANK YOU @cherrychapsticksteve for helping me out figuring some stuff out
Summary: Geralt is a Firefighter, but more important he is a single Dad to 4 y/o Ciri. Regularly they go to a cute little Coffeeshop where Jaskier works. And little Ciri is on a mission to help her Dad to find somebody to love.
Chapter - 1 -
Geralt is waiting outside the Kindergarten to pick up his daughter, there are a few other parents who are talking. But Geralt only knows one of them really so he just waits in silence. He has been alone with Ciri for a few months now, but it's still a weird feeling to come home and see Yennefer's desk empty.
They have loved each other, they really did but he is bound to his hometown and she needed to be flexible and be able to go on Business trips all the time. Geralt believed that after Ciris' birth things would be different, and things were different for a year at best. But then everything went back to the same old routine. Yennefer was in New York or London or Berlin and Geralt sat at home, the only thing that was truly different, Geralt wasn't alone, no there was Ciri, his daughter, his whole world that he needed to protect.
When Ciri was old enough to go to the Kindergarten Yennefer and Geralt figured out that they needed to go separate ways. Yennefer loves her Job to much, she really was the unpaid intern that made it to the top of this really big Marketing firm. And she isn't a family person, she tried to be one for Ciri, but she was afraid that she will regret that and will blame Ciri for it in the future, and her daughter didn't deserve this.
So now when Yennefer is in town, the three spend time together as a little family. It wasn't the family Geralt hoped for, but it's real. And some parents might not believe it but they are all really good with this. In the time they spend with Ciri they are really happy, and the phone calls Ciri has with her mother weekly are really good for their relationship.
Geralt came to the conclusion that having a family that is really happy and working is much better than to force a family together to fit the image everyone has.
Roach is pulling on the leash, Ciri has to be in sight. This Dog really loved this Child, and she would do anything to protect her. She once growled at a pigeon because it scared Ciri.
"Daddy, Daddy did you know that hedgehogs eat slugs?"
"No ,I didn't know that, where did you learn this from?" Geralt picked the little backpack up and took Ciris tiny hand.
"Miss McHall read a book about hedgehogs and there was a list of what they eat. And then in the garden Benni searched for a slug to try it himself, but he didn't find one."
"Hmm" Geralt didn't know how to reply to that.
"Daaaad is today a hot chocolate day?"
"sadly not sweetheart, I forgot my wallet at work but tomorrow is a hot chocolate day I promise"
"Oh Daddy, you really forget everything when I don't remind you" Ciri shakes her head a bit "But this time I wanna try the strawberry pie for real this time"
"I think Benni wanted to impress the girls," Ciri said at the dinner table "with the slug". What a strange topic at dinner. Geralt frowns in surprise.
"He always does those stupid things and then he runs up to the other girls and shows what he did. When Dara and I were spies we saw that."
Geralt carefully listens to his daughter.
"I mean finding a slug isn't impressive, and eating one is kinda mean because what will the hedgehog eat ? What you do is impressive Dad, you save people and teach other people how to save people."
"Thank you darling" Being a Father and a Firefighter isn't always the best mix but everytime Ciri says things like that it makes Geralt so proud.
"Uhm Dad, did you see that woman again, the one you went on a pizza date with?"
"Hmm no, she called me this morning and told me that I am nice but she has some family trouble and needs to focus on her family."
"Oh okay"
Yeah Geralt had a few dates every now and then. Yeah Ciri is his whole world, but he still is a Human and he misses the Romance in his life. The truth is Geralt hasn't the best dating game. He doesn't know what to talk about, when he doesn't talk about Ciri or his work or his Dog. He doesn't mention his daughter on the first dates, and when they actually reach a second or third date and Geralt tells them he is a single dad, most people refuse to see him again, it's just a big commitment for them. But also some of them just saw the big strong firefighter with all the muscles and not the man behind them and that's when Geralt says this isn't working out.
Ciri lays awake in bed, she could hear the TV from the living room. For sure her dad is lonely, but all this adult stuff is so confusing. In Kindergarten everything is easier, like you ask someone if you wanna be friends, then they ask you what you like to play and what's your favorite animal and then you are friends. And one day you draw a picture just for them and you are best friends. But adults don't work like that.
"My Dad needs my help to find someone to watch those silly romantic movies." Ciri whispers to herself. And she already has someone in mind and she has a plan, sort of.
The next day Geralt brought Roach back home before he went to pick up Ciri, and he checked for his wallet three times. He waited as usual in front of the kindergarten. Ciri is running right up at him, in her beautiful green dress. This morning they had an argument because Ciri wanted to wear her favorite dress so badly and Geralt was afraid that she would mess it up in the Kindergarten, but as Ciri promised it's all fine and she looks like the little princess she is to Geralt.
"Hot Chocolate Day!" Ciri is chanting as she is running to her Dad.
"Yes Sweetheart today I am fully prepared for the Coffeeshop."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!"
The Coffeeshop is near the Park where Ciri's favorite playground is. That's how they discovered it. Geralt pushed Ciri on the swing when a heavy rain surprised them. Geralt covered his daughter under his jacket and ran in the next building he found. The sweet little Coffeeshop at the Park. Geralt liked it because it wasn't that big and not many people fit in there and Ciri loved it because it's near her favorite playground and because they have so many beautiful cups and mugs.
They arrived at the Coffeeshop and because they already became regulars so they got greeted nicely. At first Geralt didn’t like it that strangers knew Ciri’s name, but he got used to it and the staff here is really nice.
A young tall man came up to their table and Ciri jumps up and ran towards him
"Jaskier! Look that’s my favorite dress”
“Oh hi Ciri it’s really beautiful, you look like a princess”
Geralt watches the scene with eagle eyes, but he knows Jaskier is no harm for his little girl, he is usually their waiter when they are in the Coffeeshop.
Jaskier lets Ciri twirl around herself, so the pretty green dress starts flying.
“My Daddy says that too.” Ciri stops spinning.
“Your Daddy says what ?” Jaskier seems to be confused with that statement.
“This morning my Daddy also said that I look like a princess. And when I am a princess my Dad must be a king right?”
“Then lead me to your king, princess Ciri.”
Jaskier could clearly see Geralt sitting at their favorite spot at the window, but he likes to play along with Ciri’s little games.
“Your Majesty I present to you, your daughter princess Ciri” Jaskier takes a bow in front of Geralt and Ciri tries to stay in character but could resist a little laugh.
“I have been sent directly from the kitchen to ask what the King and his daughter would like to eat and drink today.”
Geralt is a little lost for words, normally these silly games stay between Ciri and Jaskier, but now he is dragged into it like a theater play and he hasn’t learned his lines. Geralt tries his best to play along because he knows how much it means to his little girl if he does.
“May he bring us hot chocolate and strawberry pie for the princess and mint tea and cheesecake for me the King.”
Ciri giggles again.
“I like Jaskier he always so funny and nice to us”
“Yeah that is true”
Geralt stares out of the window, and he just enjoys the quiet coffeeshop. It wasn’t actually quiet but it wasn’t stressful like his day at the fire station. There was a fire near in the forest this morning, just because some stupid assholes had Barbeque last night and didn’t end their fire properly.
He turns around and on the table are the ordered pies and his tea but no hot chocolate is there and Ciri is gone too.
Panic runs through Geralt's veins, where is she?  He was just looking away for a second. But then he saw her holding on to Jaskier’s hand as they picked a cup for her hot chocolate. How could he forget that she always picks a new beautiful cup to drink her hot chocolate from. She walked back to her Dad and sat next to him on the bench.
“I picked a cup with stars and the moon on it”
Jaskier walks over to their table and places Ciris cup right next to her pie.
“I saw there was smoke in the forest, was there a fire?”
At first Geralt is confused because he never told Jaskier that he is a Firefighter, but then he remembered that Ciri talks a lot with Jaskier if he has the time.
“Yeah there was a fire, but gladly it was near the forest not directly in there.” Jaskier looks relieved.
“Some people made a barbeque there and the remaining hot ashe lit the dry grass on fire”
Geralt could see the disbelief in Jaskier’s face, he really couldn’t hide his emotions.
“I hope you and your crew are okay”
“We are good, it was just another fire because of careless people”
He didn’t wanna say drunk people in front of Ciri, but the look on Jaskier’s face showed him that he did understand what he meant with “careless”.
“Ciri, your Dad is truly a hero, he and his crew saved the forest”
Ciri grinned and cheered “yes they are all heroes, my Dad, uncle Eskel, uncle Lambert and Vesemir”
New customers enter the place and Jaskier has to  leave Geralt and Ciri. They eat and drink and Ciri told stories from the Kindergarten and from her best friend Dara. Even more people entered the coffeeshop as they left. They waved Goodbye to Jaskier and left the busy place. With Ciri’s tiny hand in his own he was so happy he had a daughter like her and this little coffeeshop they could call their special place.
