Media kinda does this thing that pisses me off where most silent characters fall into one or two character tropes.

a) The creepy, weird guy no one wants to be around.

b) The cutesy, baby character.

And I hate both of these. You know what show didn't do this?

Amphibia!

(Minor character spoilers going forward, but no major plot spoilers!)

There is a character introduced in Season 3 named Jenny. She's an FBI agent, and she never speaks a word. And you know what she gets? Respect. People listen to her, respect her. She's an assistant to Mr. X, who frequently compliments her and trusts her to do all kinda of important work. She's not some creepy weirdo, or a cutesy character who's treated like a baby, she's badass.

Its so refreshing to see this. Finally a character who's leads people, who's well respected, who's smart and has earned her way to a good position and doesn't need to say a word to do her damn job. Its refreshing, its nice, and its really important to me. Please make your mute characters actual characters, and not the tropes and stereotypes you see all the time.

Yup. I’m putting these two into this story, because RuPaul as Mr. X is the best fucking thing Amphibia has ever done.

So I’ve already said I plan on using Andreas as a stand in for Urizen, that makes Mr. X and Jenny as the second and third Amphibia characters to be added to Gravity May Fall. But they aren’t replacing anyone in Devil May Cry. I’m going to do this later, but these two are going to be part of a post-DMC 2013 story.

Mr. X still works for the FBI and Jenny is his assistant. and they are basically tasked with looking into the giant fucking crater in Limbo City after a building sized monster tore through the city.

Basically, just like how they go after Anne and the Plantars, they go after Mabel and Wendy as they are trying to put Devil May Cry, the devil hunting business, together.

And the reason they do this is because, where as in Amphibia Mr. X is obsessed with finding aliens, here he’s, of course, obsessed with finding demons. And because I’m using the DMC reboot as the starting point of this story, the world was dominated by demon for close to twenty years. And pretty much the only reason Mr. X survived long enough Bill Cypher be defeated while working for a government that is controlled by Bill, while actively trying to hunt down demons is because know other than Jenny believed him that demon even existed.

And that’s because Jenny was possessed by a demon and Mr. X tried to exorcise it. He managed to get rid of the demon but is with left a pretty gnarly scar. (Which I will show later on)

And you might notice Mr. X has some tattoos under his clothes, and that’s because he has Arcane tattoos covering his torso that allows him to use magic. So yes, I will at one point draw Mr. X fighting Mabel and he will not be a push over.

I’ll be doing more of these two later on because I fucking love these characters and have so many fucking ideas for them.
