Jester's Monster AU

Part One (pre-part one lore)

Warnings(for all parts, not just this one): Blood, gore, general angst, panic attacks, violence, death, dismemberment, attempted cannibalism (from vampires & werewolves), trauma, possible bad writing (I try), and the closest thing to realistic trauma responses I can get in a tmnt monster au.

The lair was quiet that afternoon, the atmosphere sullen and slow. Raph and Leo were lying about; Raph with his arm around his younger brother while Leo had himself busy with a comic in his hands. Earlier, Donnie had gotten upset with how Leo still refused to talk to him, so he'd left with Casey to the hidden city to search for spare parts just to clear his head and be alone. Casey had only tagged along for company and protection. This left Raph alone with a sulking Leo to talk to. The twins had been distant with each other since Donnie had revived Leon from the dead. Having accused him of going way too far with that, Leo had gone quiet towards him, avoiding what was formerly his closest brother. Raph couldn't get any progress with mending their relationship, and he was just wishing Mikey was still there.... he would have helped them so much better than Raph could. And now... Raph was sitting there, pitying himself as he kept his brother company. It was his idea that Casey went with Donnie on his outing because he didn't want to leave either of them alone while emotions were still sore.

At some point, the stress got to him, and he nodded off to sleep. He awoke two hours later to a loud thud in the main room. Blinking, he muttered a quiet "Sorry." to Leon as he pushed him away so he could stand up to check it out. Raph poked his head out his bedroom door only to see Casey rushing past. He was moving quickly, but Raph still clearly saw the bloody trail he was leaving behind as he cradled Donnie in his arms, taking him straight to the med bay. With a gasp, Raph shot a glance back at Leo and gestured for him to follow before he jogged after the harpy. "Casey! What happened?! Is he alright?" he asked, already panicking. When he entered the med bay, he got a good look at Donnie's condition. He was covered in bruises and scratches along his limbs and one cheek, but the worst of it was the bite marks. One on his leg, covered in dirt and still bleeding, and one on his neck, messy and torn, still dripping. Raph was frozen for a moment as he watched his brother's wide eyes and gasping face while Casey scrambled to clean and patch the wounds. Leon had arrived by then and immediately rushed to Casey's side, helping him to attach a heart monitor and wrap some of the wounds. He looked truly panicked. Seeing him like this snapped Raph out of his shock, and he also joined them. "Casey.... what happened?" he asked, repeating what he'd said earlier. "I don't really know, I looked away for a couple minutes, and there was just this... thing... attacking him. Some kind of weasel mutant, but it wasn't acting right... It was like... feral.. or something. I don't know. We fought it off, but he went down immediately after." Casey explained, finishing up with the bite on Donnie's leg. His hands were a shaking mess as he fumbled with the bandages, but eventually, he finished.

Donnie's eyes had shut now, and he was out. He would have looked like he was just sleeping peacefully if it wasn't for all the bandages and his increasingly weak breathing. The three of them were silent for some time before Leo finally spoke up. "The hidden city will have better resources. We gotta take him bac-" he was cut off by the sharp noise of the heart monitor flatlining, taking the breath out of the room as their softshell brother ceased moving. None of them moved for only a few seconds, though it felt like forever. Almost as if time had stopped and only that eerie beeping remained.

basically pissditching is friends with revengeromance and girlgerard (both of whom i dislike atp*) i said something in the tags of a post abt how i was pissed at revengeromance for something (unrelated) and pissditching found it and lowkey harassed me and several friends over it and said some real fucking weird shit to me so i blocked them (and probably said something snarky abt them on main but i dont really remember)

The two turtles just stared at Mikey there, neither of them able to say anything. He looked... like an illusion. "Woah. What happened here?" he asked, suddenly concerned seeing Donnie in bed and covered in bandages.

"Uhm... a lot of things, but first of all, where have you even been?" Leon asked, walking up to touch Mikey. Of course, his hand went straight through. "I don't exactly know- look, I'll explain later, but uh... is Dee alright?" he asked.

Leo looked back at the bed, and Donnie was curled up again, shaking. "Oh woah! Hey bud, you good?" he rushed back to the bed. Donnie had a hand cupped over his mouth, the other gripping his shoulder tight. He looked like he was in pain. He just whined and shook his head. Alright, not good... "You want me to get the others?" Leon asked. There was a short pause, then Donnie gasped and gagged a bit, coughing and pulling his hand off his mouth. There, in his palm, was a bit of blood and two whole teeth. Shocked, he just sat and stared at them, hands shaking. His mouth was hung open from the shock so Leon could see there were, in fact, two canines missing and the beginnings of what looked like new teeth growing in. No wonder he was in pain. For them to come in so quickly that they shoved the old ones straight out of the mouth.... Leon couldn't help but wonder if this was what he thought it was. If so, things would only get more complicated from here.

He sat on the edge of the bed, watching his brother with concern. "That's kinda gross, Dee. Let me hold onto them." he offered, holding his hand out. Donnie just blinked and let him take them with a confused look. Then he just stuck them in his pocket, out of sight. "Anything else hurting ya?" he asked. Donnie took a deep, shaky breath. "Everything." he answered, voice strained.

Leo and Mikey shared a concerned look before splitting, Mikey going off to get everyone else while Leo stayed by Donnie's side, adjusting the blankets so he was comfortable. Whatever this was, they'd have to figure it out soon before it got worse.
