The shooting of the new ‘Doctor Who’ spin-off has reportedly begun, most likely in the United Kingdom, the principal location of the series. Denise Welch, who is known for playing Natalie Barnes/Horrocks in ‘Coronation Street’ and Steph Haydock in ‘Waterloo Road,’ was spotted filming the series recently. The production of the original series’ fourteenth season recently wrapped and the fifteenth season’s shooting is slated to begin in December in Cardiff.

The spin-off series revolves around the UNIT, a military organization operating under the United Nations to investigate and combat paranormal and extraterrestrial threats to Earth. UNIT has featured significantly in the original series for the past 50 years. The spin-off will follow UNIT leader Kate Stewart. Jemma Redgrave appears as Stewart in around ten episodes of the original series. Redgrave will be appearing in the series after portraying Stewart in the ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas special later this year, starring alongside the new Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa (‘Sex Education’).

The new spin-off will be a part of an expanded “Whoniverse,” which was born after Disney+ struck a significant international distribution deal with BBC. ‘Doctor Who’ showrunner and executive producer Russell T. Davies revealed that the show is only one of the several spin-offs that will form the “Whoniverse.” “[…] it was time for the next stage for Doctor Who. I thought the streaming platforms are ready, the spin-offs are ready; I always believed in spin-offs,” Davies told British GQ about expanding the ‘Doctor Who’ universe with new shows set in the same.

Redgrave is best known for playing Evie Wilcox in ‘Howards End,’ alongside Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson, Lady DeCourcy in Kate Beckinsale and Chloë Sevigny-starrer ‘Love & Friendship,’ MI6 Agent Emily Tuthill in ‘The Grid,’ Rebecca Edmonds in Craig Ferguson’s ‘I’ll Be There,’ etc. Her recent credits include DI Jill Raymond in ‘Silent Witness,’ Amelia Gurney-Clifford/Davenport in ‘Grantchester,’ Bernie Wolfe in ‘Holby City,’ etc.

Welch’s recent credits, on the other hand, includes Angela in ‘Dead Canny,’ Trish Minniver in ‘Hollyoaks,’ Doll Belvedere in ‘Dun Breedin’,’ Linda Bradshaw/Pam McGrath in ‘Holby City,’ etc. BBC has not announced other cast members of the spin-off series yet, which can be expected in the upcoming months.

Along with BBC Studios, Sony-backed Bad Wolf, the production company behind ‘His Dark Materials,’ ‘A Discovery of Witches,’ and ‘Industry,’ is expected to be involved in the production of the series. Bad Wolf has been co-producing ‘Doctor Wolf’ since the fourteenth season of the show.

I chuckled as I walked back out into the backyard, having disappeared inside to do my motherly duties and change Baby Tommy’s diaper. Aaron was barbequing up burgers and hotdogs on the grill and little girl was on his godfather’s chest, kicking up a fuss anyone would try to remove her.

“Daddy!” Baby Tommy whine from my arms, holding out his little baby arms as he showed what he wanted. I settled him in next to his sister, pressing a sweet kiss onto Peter’s lips.

 “KISS KISS!” demanded little girl, getting affection from me as well. “Baby Tommy kiss kiss!” She mashed her face onto his cheek with a loud MWAH, still associating the sound with the show of affection rather than the actual gesture.

 “Food’s ready!” Aaron called out just then before beginning to plate up the burgers and hot dogs, grinning as he talked to Benjimen and Daphne, the newly engaged pair beaming happily as they wafted in a daze of happiness and bliss. Adam and Anna were both sitting underneath the big oak tree that provided shade  to much of the backyard, Daisy lying next to the blind woman, keeping an eye out for any danger at all. The girls were in a cluster giggling as they talked preteen girl talk. Ephriam was complaining about how Bob enjoyed making everything in the office much harder while Evan handed out special cookies that he had made for the event at hand.

 “Mommy?” Katie meeped, coming to stand in front of me with bright pink cheeks. “I peed myself.”

 “Okay, let’s go inside and I’ll take care of you, okay now?” I told her in a gentle voice as I steered her inside. While she was in the bathroom taking care of herself, I was in her bedroom picking out a fresh pair of underwear and jeans. I knocked on the twin’s Jack and Jill bathroom and exchanged them for her ruined clothes. I went down into the laundry room to toss the jeans and underwear into for a quick wash cycle.

 As I was setting the spin cycle, Peter came tearing inside, fury clear as day on his face as he half stomped half limped his way to the front door, which he yanked opened before stepping outside and tearing into whoever was outside.

 I quickly finished up before heading out to see what had irked my terrifying husband’s ire. I pulled back the curtains in the sunroom and saw Peter yelling at a tiny, wizarding woman in a light lilac power skirt suit and I felt my heart drop.

 “Hello Mrs. Bradshaw, to what do I owe this visit to?” I asked in a sweet voice as I came out behind Peter and wrapped my arms loosely around his hips.

 “Mary Claire dear.” My hackles raised at the affectionate way she said my name, as though we were long old friends. “I hired a private investigator a few months back to check into the wellbeing of my son… and I was told that he had a child. I want to meet my grandchild-”

 “Not fucking happening!” Peter snarled, snorting out through his nose as he took a lumbering step forward. “Leave. Now. You’re trespassing.”

 “Aaron doesn’t want to see you,” I added in. “As the mother of little girl, I can clearly say fuck the ever shitting hell off of the property or else the police will be called.”

 I tugged my husband back into the house just as Daniel wandered inside with the babies in his arms.

 “Hey, what’s going on?” he wondered as he handed over a happily squealing little girl.

 “Aaron’s mother came and was demanding to see little girl,” I grumbled.

 BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG

 “My love!” I latched onto his arm as Mrs. Bradshaw began banging on the front door. “Daniel-”

 “On it.” His eyes were spitting out determination as he tossed his head back. “WHOOT WHOOT!”

 My other six brothers stampeded into the house, clustering tightly around Adam as he laid out a plan of attack before they all left the house.

 “God bless having seven extremely overprotective brothers,” I chuckled as Mrs. Bradshaw was forced to leave the property before my brothers came back inside.

 “Problem taken care of MC,” Gideon told us, swooping in to grab at little girl’s foot.

 Little girl let out a tired giggle as she clung to her beloved godfather, clearly near sleep as she gripped at Peter’s green shirt with one hand and his loose hair with her other fist.

 “Ah, is little girl tired?” I cooed as I took Baby Tommy from my older husband’s arms and carried him outside to say goodbye to the party attendees. I smiled my thanks at Evan and Ephriam, who started to break down the food table and the girls carried the food inside to be bagged up to be taken home.

 “Gramacy you two!” I thanked my brother and his boyfriend as Baby Tommy fell asleep in my arms. “My love, I’m going to go up now and feed Baby Tommy, alright?”

 “Alright sweetheart,” he agreed as he watched the party disbanding.

 I kipped up to the master bedroom, where I arranged myself on the bed and undressed myself to allow Baby Tommy to latch onto me.

 I was humming with a gentle smile on my face when I looked up and saw Peter lumbering into through the doorway, leaning heavily onto his cane as he limped his way up to the bed and collapsed onto it. I giggled as I squeezed my nipple, making a thin stream of milk fly out and nail Peter in the eyelid and the corner of his mouth.

 “You hungry you, big baby you?” I asked with a giggle, welcoming him in to feed off of my healthy supply of motherly milk and letting out a lazy sigh as he began to greedily suck from me, giving me a rather perverse joy in me feeding my two best boys.

 I hummed softly as I cupped at the back of my husband’s head, just holding him as I drifted off to sleep.

“...?” Intella paused as she looked at the black hardcover book on the floor that she didn’t recognize as one of her own and Joshel and Jona knew better than to leave a book on the floor… She absentmindedly flipped open the front page after examining the outside to find it was a notebook but the handwriting was chicken scratch at best…  She ran her fingers along the page as she recognized it after a minute as Jill’s handwriting and after a few words she realized it was Jill’s journal. 

On the one hand she considered that it would be very inappropriate to read Jill’s private thoughts…

On the other… Her curiosity clouded her judgement at times as she only managed to close the book for a few seconds before returning and sitting down and opening it.

“...Deon bought me this journal for christmas… I guess it’s nice. He said he thought it might help me vent since I refuse to tell him what’s bothering me. I don’t really think writing will help me much but I figured I could at least document what I know now.”

Intella examined the rough sketch on the page… Admittedly, Jill was better at drawing then writing. The symbol was that of a snake that Intella recognized right away as the same tattoo that Jill had on her shoulder since a fairly young age. Jill had simply remarked that her grandmother said it was a birthmark - and although her and Deon knew that wasn’t true they hadn’t pushed it.

“I guess I’ve always been part of Ophidian… It’s not really a choice. I’ve tried to trace back how far and it seems to go really far back… At least to Post Christabella/Paimon.  I kinda want to ask Axel but I know that this will get back to Intella and I just...I’m scared. I don’t want Deon and her involved… I don’t want to lose them. They’re all I got - Nobody else cares if I die tomorrow… Sometimes I.” 

Intella squinted at the pages as Jill had roughly crossed out whatever she’d written but despite her best effort she couldn’t figure out what it said. She already had millions of questions - What was Ophidian? She knew what the word meant but judging by the context it was either a cult or organization…

The next few pages were a few general notes - Names and dates that didn’t mean much to Intella as she skimmed through them before finding more written.

“Everything hurts...Deon’s mad at me for disappearing again without telling him anything. I guess that’s understandable but I figured he’d be fucking his new girlfriend… Agg? ...alphba? or whatever.  The training keeps getting more intense… I guess I know how to use a sword now.”

A sarcastic doodle of a derpy looking face saying ‘yay’ followed before she started writing a sentence and seemed to either fall asleep or something as the pen dragged and faded away.

“I fucking knew it.”  Intella noted the disaster this particular page was with dents and scratches and a few small ripped edges. The stains of tears and mascara on the page made her heart sink a little bit. In the time knowing Jill she’d never cried. She’d been in pain. She’d been scared but she’d never even flinched. Intella wasn’t much different as a kid but knew that if Jill was crying enough to create the marks on the page that whatever was written was hurting her…

“...Grandma killed them. She was ordered to and did it without a second thought! She was going to kill me that day when I  shoved her down the stairs because they weren’t satisfied with my training.  How does somebody kill their own child?  How was my father’s parents okay with this? They were on the council who made the fucking decision! She took them away from me… She took away any life I might had because they wanted to quit! They wanted out of this bullshit!

I don’t want to hurt people…

I don’t want to be a bad person…

I don’t want to be like them.

Deon noticed the bruises and cuts. I told him I got into a fight with some creep who was groping a girl… I don’t want to lie to him but it worried him enough to see me like this. It’s why this needs to stay as just FWB and nothing more… I can’t tell him what I feel because he’ll be in trouble. He’ll try to protect me or get everyone else involved… I know Intella and him could fight them. They’d probably do fine for awhile but these people are insane…

Briggs sold them some sort’ve nanites? I think that’s the right term… I don’t really understand how it all works but what I do know is that they claim the shot holds the fighting styles and capabilities of Rikku, December and Paimon?…  Something about using the footage from Heron’s security and other surveillance? I don’t understand. What I do understand is that at the start of the week I didn’t even know how to hold a Katana… Now I’m fighting at the same level as Rikku does with years of training within a week. I don’t feel good… I don’t know what’s going on inside of me but it hurts.

I’m just going to go to sleep…”
