'Cause it's the first of May,
Outdoor fucking starts today
So bring your favorite lady
Or at least your favorite lay
The water's not cold baby
dip in your big toe
Maybe I'll see you in flagrante delicto
Grass below you, sky above
Celebrate spring with a crazy little thing called
fucking outside

You like Jonathan Coulton? His early work was a little too rock for my taste. But when Thing A Week 1 came out in '06, I think he really came into his own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Paul & Storm, but I think Jonathan has a far more sad, geeky sense of humor. In '06, Jonathan released this; Thing A Week 2, his most accomplished album. I think his undisputed masterpiece is "Re: Your Brains", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about a zombie trying to eat his former coworker's brains. It's also a personal statement about Jonathan Coulton himself. HEY, ASPEN!

i still think about how i got im your moon by jonathan coulton as my 2nd top song (first was some random rap song i wasnt even a big fan of. i honestly dont count it, so my top song was im your moon)
yes, the song is beautiful, it really is, but. thats not it. its not about how pretty the song is or how good it is. but its that 2023 was such a traumatic year in my life. a horrible year. end of 2022/all of 2023 had so much shit in it.
that may not seem to matter; songs are meaningless in that sense, but when you truly look at what the song meant to me. the amount of love felt when i listened to it. all that love was there because i related(and honestly still do) it to one of the closest friends ive ever had.
that song; throughout a year of terrible traumas and fears and horrors beyond my younger comprehension, managed to be the number one top song of the year. a song of love and caring and being there for somebody you care about. a song id only gotten into five or six months before november, the month tracking stops, got first place.
of all the feelings i felt. all the fear all the hatred all the disgust all the trauma all the horrible feelings all the wretched disgusting things that happened-
i still loved, man.
and i loved so much, and i still love and i lived and i loved and i cared for people and i loved.
i fucking loved.

okay okay so. we all get that "I Crush Everything" is ed and stede from OFMD. but have you guys ever thought of the fact that "I'm Your Moon" is literally Aziraphale and Crowley from Good Omens. [Ignoring the fact that it's also me and @raging-himboifcation13 like 10000x more than it could ever be them] Not to mention "Brand New Sucker" could possibly fit a bit of Nandor and Guillermos relationship.
