PedroStories 1000 followers celebration

PedroStories hit 1000 followers in May, around the same time the blog had its 2nd birthday, so we decided to celebrate it with the fandom’s writers and readers!

We prepared with a few general quotes, other quotes from Pedro and his characters and with some fanfiction tropes. You don’t have to stick to the character whose quote you choose – actually, we encourage you to mix and match any of them as creatively as you want! The celebration starts today and lasts until 20 August!

Please read the rules carefully, then you will find the list of prompts under the cut.

Rules

We welcome pairings with readers/characters of any gender, non-romantic pairings or even fics with no pairings. 💚 The rating can be anything from general to explicit.

Choose at least one quote from any of the quotes lists (you can use more prompts in one fic) and choose at least one trope. You can write as many fics as you want using these prompts!

It’s not necessary to let us know what prompts you’ve chosen! Just let your creativity flow - this challenge is completely open!

Please mention in your post that your work is for @pedrostories’ celebration and use the special tag #pedrostories1k, just so we can track and queue every single entry.

Please post your work until 20 August – we will track the special tag until that day, and in a few days we create a masterlist of all the fanfictions. You can keep using the list later and we will queue them as usual if you tag the blog, but we won’t track the special tag anymore and won’t update the event’s masterlist.

Hey Kingdom Hearts fans! Welcome to 2023′s Roxas and Ventus Appreciation week! Let’s celebrate the potential friendship these two can have. Since April didn't work out completely, we're trying again in October! From Sunday, October 8th, to Saturday, October 14th, we'll be releasing daily prompts for Roxas and Ventus fans!

With three prompts to choose from per day, and an optional color pallet for artists and editors, you have a lot of places to draw inspiration from! Feel free to choose just one prompt, or maybe even work all into your piece of writing, art, photo edit, or just about any other form of creative expression. Of course, the final day, October 14th, is meant to be a ‘free-day’, but if you’re having trouble coming up with an idea, you have two quotes and two color pallets to chose from!

This week will be friendship focused, but feel free to create romantic pieces! This tumblr will reblog all pieces submitted under the hashtag #roxandvenweek, whether it be platonic or romantic!

i hope you don't mind me asking — but how / why did you pick the teams you cheer for currently? i just realized we don't have favorite teams in common but i love your energy and all of your poetry posts so much 🫶

oh so the penguins just happened to be the first team i found when i googled “hockey” but the bruins were an accident and also a mistake.

i don’t entirely know why i like the teams i like. i think i just tend to pick one character or dynamic i find interesting and follow that down a rabbit hole. i got into hockey after watching the pens 2009 cup documentary

(big strong manly dudes who talk about sports like it’s war and celebrate hard hits, playing through injuries, and getting into fights, who also nicknamed their little goalie friend Flower and made sure to give him forehead kisses after every game. i didn’t stand a chance)

so sid, geno, tanger, (talbot), and most of all flOWER were my first loves and ive kinda just stuck with them ever since.

at one point i tried to put together a spreadsheet to figure out which other teams to root for (based on their names, logos, place in the standings, nr of scandinavians etc). i immediately eliminated all the red white and blue teams because i thought the colour combination was unimaginative, then eliminated all the teams whose logo was just a letter because i thought that was stupid, then forgot all about the spreadsheet because a bruins fan was nice to me and i decided to root for her team just because i liked her vibe.

(dragged one friend down the marcheron rabbit hole with me and we watched game 7 together and i will truly genuinely never stop feeling guilty about putting her through all that. then bergy retiring broke me unfixable etc etc and now we’re here)

minnesota kinda became my team a few months ago, mainly because flower plays there, but also because i got to watch them play in stockholm and that was v exciting for me. the wild have been getting most of my attention lately because that’s the fandom where i have the most fun. whereas the goalies and the superstars tend to suck up most of the oxygen in other fandoms, wildblr for some reason tends to focus on the fourth liners and the losers and that’s more my vibe just in general.

hockey is only really an internet hobby for me, and none of my Real Life Friends really care about it, so i need some fandom friends to yell about these things with. im also several timezones behind and i catch most games a few hours after the fact, so if i have to scroll through a lb of a fandom that’s very negative i tend to just blacklist that tag. there’s a few teams i now see very little of & don’t massively care about for that reason.

this turned into a much longer reply than i intended but also i just really liked the question & you worded it real kind so i didn’t want to half ass it.

there’s other players i still like even though i don’t keep up w the team much (eichel, natemac, that little slutty guy from montreal, bertuzzi, tk, ej, etc etc) but there’s only so many hours in a day, you know?

random question, but, what's your favorite thing about wish? i have a feeling it's probably magnifico lol but if it is then why do you like him so much? asking because i know i reblog a lot of stuff about the concept art and the rewrites people do, since personally i find it pretty compelling and fun, but i also think it's neat that there are people who just genuinely enjoy the movie as it is! and it really must be frustrating for you that the tag is filled with what's basically a fandom centered on wish's concept art more than wish itself.

honestly i accept that the movie isn’t perfect and was rushed as fuck, but i had such a fun time! i think asha is so lovely and refreshing compared to the other (few) disney heroines of color. as much as i love esmeralda and jasmine they’re so oversexualized and fall into that stereotype of “fiery outspoken brown woman” which is 😬😬😬😬 to watch sometimes as a woman of color myself. it’s nice to see a young black heroine be clumsy and fun and learn to be a leader! and ofc magnífico is so funny and hellooooo it’s chris pine!!!! also he’s hot sorry likeeeee 🤭 i also find his story very compelling although i do concede his villain arc was slightly rushed lol. i would love to learn more about him and queen amaya! i also love the songs (esp “at all costs”) and animation (the rendering is beautiful!). while i understand that the final product was a bit underwhelming for what was built up as this huge 100 year disney celebration, i don’t think a movie needs to be outstanding to speak to you or make you feel happy. sometimes you just like what you like! and i had fun! ☺️

i definitely do wonder what could have been if the actors and writers strikes didn’t happen, because i think that may have messed with any final alterations they might have made before release that could answer all of my questions and make the story clearer. i used to be intrigued by the rewrites but now they just kind of annoy me because most of them are being written by people who haven’t even seen the damn movie and/or people who aren’t creating these rewrites from a place of love.

for example, during the fall i rewrote the hunchback of notre dame musical script out of a genuine love for the story and characters because i was so frustrated with peter parnell’s approach. and it shows in my version of the script. but with the wish rewrites, a lot of them come off as disingenuous and egotistical like this “im so much smarter than literal film professionals” bullshit (sorry if that’s harsh lol).

and a lot of the criticisms just aren’t constructive and seem to mostly come from people who have literally no idea what it takes to create something. like especially with the ai accusations??? full offense but most of yall wouldn’t know the difference between ai and real human art if it slapped you in the face. and it seems like a scapegoat to get out of providing ACTUAL constructive criticism of the film instead of people just admitting they’re blindly jumping onto the latest hate bandwagon lmfao.

it definitely is frustrating to go through the tags and see more conversation around the concept art than the actual final product we got, but i just pass out the blocks like candy and add certain tags to my blacklist and that clears things up very quickly lmfao.

I try to resist the urge to unfollow anyone I disagree with. I don't want close myself in an echo chamber. In real life I wouldn't cut ties with someone just because we disagree on one thing. But, from one Christian to another, should I unfollow someone because they reblog fanart of a same gender ship a few times? I've tried blacklisting individual ship tags in the past but it's annoying to keep track of those. What if someone's a Christian who thinks it's wrong in real life but fine in fiction?

Maybe I'm the wrong person to ask but I mercilessly unfollow anyone who puts homosexual art on my dash.

The idea that homosexuality is wrong in real life but ok to promote, celebrate, glorify, fawn over, lust over, etc. in fiction is totally backwards and nonsensical. It shows a person who is clinging to a form of legalism without truly actually hating sin. Trying to get as close to it as they can without going over an arbitrary line that they've drawn.

I'm not saying that there aren't maybe new Christians who have yet to let go of their gay ships but it's a extremely unchristian behavior and needs to be called out. "I thought you were christian?" Should be the response to people who do this kind of thing. The Bible says even a Christian, if they are in unrepentant sin and refuse to be corrected, needs to ultimately be put out of the fellowship until they repent.

The Game of Love | Series Part 1

Series Summary: Bucky must save his career with the perfect relationship. He'll have to fake it with budding artist Steve Rogers. Bucky doesn't foresee ever falling for his fake boyfriend, but Steve shows him a side of love he didn't know he could have.

Four months ago, Bucky Barnes was becoming the biggest name in Hollywood. He was skyrocketing to the top of his career. One of the biggest up-and-coming actors of this generation. Then he had to blab to the tabloids about never wanting a family and swearing love was a trap. He was drunk. He only half meant it.

Of course, he liked love. He dated all the time. When his name was in good standing, he slept with whoever he wanted. It was incredible. But he also saw real love fall apart all the time, shatter people and so he never saw the real stuff happening for him.

The tabloids called him a cynic, some labeled him a disbeliever of love, and most just called him sad. They also gave him a drinking problem since the video proved he was wasted. A cynic drunk doesn't bode well for an actor who almost exclusively stars as the romantic lead in every film. The studios suddenly took away all his roles. He hasn't worked in months.

His agent, Rick, thinks up the perfect solution. A relationship. They'd fake the perfect one and he'd play madly in love and admit to the tabloids he had it all wrong. The problem quickly becomes no one is interested. Not after Bucky has been blacklisted. Who's career would he help?

Eventually, Rick searches outside of Hollywood and finds an up-and-coming artist who is willing to take the job. Bucky's never heard of the guy, someone named Steve Rogers, but Rick swears he's big in the art world. And all that matters is if the world believes he can fall in love.

The day Bucky meets with Steve to go over the contract, Rick leaves them alone to agree on details. That's where everything takes a turn for the worse.

"You're not going to sleep with me?"

"No," Steve replies calmly.

"But this might go on for months."

Steve only nods, his demeanor doesn't change, he's perfectly composed.

"We can't get caught with other people. We have to be faithful," Bucky reminds him.

"Exactly right. I would never cross that line," Steve assures him but Bucky's mouth only opens wider.

"I'm that repulsive to you?"

"I never said that," Steve says and this rattles him. He sits up looking regretful.

"You'd rather be celibate than sleep with me," Bucky rephrases.

"And that has nothing to do with your looks. This is business. We're signing a contract. It's better to keep things professional."

Bucky huffs out a frustrated breath.

"Don't you think it'd be in our best interest to... help each other out during this?"

Steve stiffens in his seat but his face stays unchanged.

"I think that would complicate things. I'm prepared to fulfill this contract in the most professional way possible."

"But I want to have sex this year," Bucky battles.

Steve shrugs and then stands.

"Look, this is a great opportunity for me but we both know you need this contract more than I do. If you don't like my terms, don't sign it."

Bucky's speechless. When he doesn't say anything Steve turns to go. To walk out. And Bucky knows he can't let him.

"Wait."

He signs the contract.

The first step in faking the relationship is leaking photos of them together. Meaning they have to get real close, put their hands on each other, and finally, Bucky's publicist insists, kiss — at least for one shot.

Bucky works it as naturally as he can, but Steve is too awkward about it. It's like he's trying so hard not to touch Bucky even when he's instructed to. And the kiss is the tiniest peck Bucky's ever received, so they settle on an open-mouthed, inches apart, shot where it looked like they're just coming off a kiss.

When the cameraman is packing up, Bucky glares at Steve.

"You're gonna have to be more believable than that when we're in public, you know?"

"I know," Steve says simply.

It makes Bucky rage inside.

"You know?"

"Yes. It'll be much easier when we don't have to be on top of each other making out. Holding your hand and kissing you on the cheek is more my style. I'll make my feelings believable," Steve assures him.

Bucky's first impulse is to laugh, call him a prude, or make fun of him somehow but he remembers the contract and how much he needs this. He needs this fake relationship to work way more than Steve so he keeps his mouth shut.

The second step is being seen in public after the photos go viral. People are already speculating whether Bucky might believe in love suddenly but they have to see it to believe it.

Steve and Bucky go to dinner and to also clear up Bucky's alleged drinking problem they make sure the press gets a shot of them dining outside where Steve clinks his wine glass to Bucky's glass of water.

The third step is for them to get a place together. The news travels fast which is exactly what they want. Everything is working so far but Bucky still hasn't gotten any offers or auditions. Which means they have to keep up the act.

Their next public appearance is a charity event. Steve has his hand slotted against Bucky's lower back with his side pressed against him. He's a warm and steady presence next to him. Steve is good at the prudish stuff, Bucky thinks.

He doesn't mind it though. He's never brought a date to a red carpet. He's never had someone to lean against while cameras flash in his face, while reporters stick microphones near his mouth. Now the feeling of Steve's hand gently but firmly placed on the small of his back feels grounding... it feels nice.

Bucky plays along, delivering all the answers his publicist curated for him. And when Steve kisses him on the cheek, it's not hard to beam with a little smile.

Spending time with Steve in public isn't the problem. The problem is how lonely it feels when they get home and walk into their separate bedrooms.

Bucky misses sex, he does, but what he doesn't see coming is how much he misses the company. He hadn't realized how much he'd gotten used to waking up with someone else in his bed. Now he wakes up every morning alone.

Tonight, they walk through the front door of their shared apartment and Bucky walks to the kitchen to pour himself a drink. He's been dying for one all night since he still isn't drinking in public. Steve stands for a moment, checking his phone.

"Want one?" Bucky asks, pouring whiskey into a glass.

Steve peers up and shakes his head, "No thank you."

Steve proceeds to his room. He's not obligated to spend any more time with him outside the public eye but it still stings. Bucky masks his disappointment and gulps back the liquor.

A couple hours pass before Bucky realizes how much he's drinking. He can't help it. None of his old friends or co-stars talk to him anymore. And he can't blame them, he'd stay away too if his friends got blacklisted.

He keeps checking his phone anyway like maybe someone will text him but no one does. He opens Instagram and starts scrolling. A post from Steve comes up, they had to follow each other and like a handful of posts when the contract started.

He has a new post. It's a painting and Bucky recognizes the background. It's the bedroom right down the hall. The one Steve sleeps in.

The painting is gorgeous. For the first time tonight, Bucky realizes he's never mentioned Steve's art. He's never asked Steve a personal question in all these weeks they've been pretending.

He picks his feet up and walks to the door of Steve's bedroom. He knocks. Steve opens it.

"Hey, you need something?" Steve asks.

Bucky shakes his head but it makes everything spin, he's really drank a little too much.

"Wanted to see your painting," Bucky says, happy when his words don't slur.

"My painting?"

Bucky nods and goes to lift his phone when he realizes he left it on the couch with his glass of whiskey. He stares at his empty hand for a moment then back up at Steve. He smiles crookedly.

"From Instagram."

"Oh," Steve looks a tad surprised. "Alright."

He steps aside and lets Bucky in. Leaning on an easel is the painting from the photo. It's a painting of New York.

"I'm from there, you know?" Bucky says stepping up to the canvas, staring.

"I know."

"Are you?" Bucky asks.

"Yeah."

"Why'd you move to LA?"

"For a guy."

Bucky frowns. "Didn't work out?"

Steve shakes his head, putting his hands in the pockets of his slacks. He's still wearing his suit pants and dress shirt but he's removed the jacket and tie. He's opened the top three buttons on his shirt. Bucky hasn't taken off a single thing.

"Do you miss it?"

"New York?" Steve guesses.

Bucky shakes his head and moves a step toward Steve.

"Having someone."

"Oh, um of course I do," Steve replies.

"Are you lonely?" Bucky asks with one more step closer.

That's when Steve catches on to Bucky's half-baked plan. His face evens out, he shakes his head.

"You know the rules."

Bucky sighs with his whole body. He's drunk and lonely and sad. He wants Steve to hold him more than the other stuff and he's never wanted that before.

"I'm not doing anything," Bucky fights.

"You're trying."

Bucky sighs again throwing his hands up and letting them slap back down.

"What would it hurt if we s-shared?" Bucky asks, his words finally starting to slur now.

"Shared?" Steve looks lost.

"The bed, Steve. Just to s-sleep."

"You want me to believe you wouldn't try anything if we got in bed together?" Steve crosses his arms.

"You're not that irresistible," Bucky scoffs. "I can keep my hands off you, easily."

The truth is, Bucky is attracted to Steve but he's been too annoyed all the time that they wouldn't have sex to really think about it. Tonight though, Steve was wearing a handsome suit all night and now the alcohol's letting Bucky appreciate the man's looks even more.

He really is nice to look at. Thick, blond hair. Sharp cut jaw line, big hands, even bigger chest, and a nice ass.

But even drunk, Bucky knows Steve is a stickler for rules. And shockingly, he'd be more than okay with just being held tonight.

Steve rolls his eyes. "Well, I don't trust you. You should go to bed, Bucky. In your own room."

"Come on."

"No."

"Steve, please."

"I told you I'm not sleeping with—"

"Just sleep," Bucky interjects. "I mean it, please. I don't wanna sleep alone again."

Something in his voice must give him away, how desperately serious he is, because Steve's features soften.

"Just sleep?" Steve tests.

"I swear, no funny business."

It takes a minute but after a long beat, Steve nods. He agrees.

"Go change and then you can sleep here."

Bucky smiles much too wide. He sprints out of the room and nearly falls over but he catches himself and drags his feet all the way to his room. He opens his dresser drawer and pulls out sweats and a t-shirt.

He sinks down to the floor working his tie off but it's so much more work with this much alcohol pumping through him. He gets the tie off and moves on to the buttons of his dress shirt.

Each button takes an eternity. He doesn't remember which button he gets to before he falls asleep on the floor.

hi please don’t feel pressured to post or respond to this. i’m going to censor to avoid it going into ship and character tags if you do post, but i wanted to say how much i adore your response to that sp*riken ask. i’m a sp*riken shipper and have been since day one, but we get so much bad rep from burner accounts and arguments/instigation from both sides

this is going to sound so childish but i admittedly have such an ick for y*ehan. i don’t care if people ship it, but i blacklist all that i can to avoid seeing it. i’ve been stalked and harassed by very big, very popular y*ehan fans (on twitter) in the past. idk why i’m telling you this part. i guess just to show how much i appreciate you and your response to this whole ordeal. i’ve never seen such a bizarre ship war in all my years. i know one is the most popular ship in the fandom (has been since day one) and the other just flies under the radar for the most part, but i’m genuinely so tired of the fights and i’m so sorry that person messaged you with such hatred.

i’ve seen you around on twitter and was surprised you hadn’t blocked me. all this just to say thank you for giving me hope that there are non spiteful y*ehan shippers out there. i know that’s cheesy and cringy but i cannot tell you how often sp*riken gets unwarranted hate/uncensored things in our tags/searches. i apologize if my wording is odd. i hope you have a wonderful day/night and prosper in life for having such a kind soul.🫶

Thank you for sending this to me. I can tell this must weigh very heavily on you. I also never understood why people try to prop up a big war between the two ships. It’s unnecessary, redundant, and meaningless. They both have their own unique appeal. I doubt this means much after what you’ve been through, but I apologize on behalf of Yee//han shippers and I want to set the record that what happened to you and other Spuri//ken shippers is not acceptable. It is not behavior I will ever tolerate and I will always strive to build community rather than tear it down. We are in this together!!

Thank you so much for 1k followers!

I put word out a few days ago about what this blog could do to celebrate reaching 1k; either I could empty my drafts and inbox, or I could go ahead with my own idea. I kept it vague to pique intrigue and @seidenbros gave me the blessing to go ahead with this after a discussion about the logistics.

So, here's how I want to celebrate!💕

Send me an ask between 2 and 5 sentences long about yourself, and I'll respond by writing a little about what your relationship with Eddie would be like. (This might be a paragraph or just a few sentences, it depends both on my motivation levels and how many sentences you submit. To make this fair, I will be setting a timer for ten minutes when I respond to your ask.)

Please tell me somewhere in the ask that this is for the 1k celebration.

Rules

OFF ANON so that I can verify you are 18+ and so that you WILL see your response when it is posted. I will not be using my tag lists for this event and I don't want you to miss your response. Was checking out the tag for a ship and came across an anti message for the first time. I know that sounds weird but I’ve been incredibly lucky in curating my fandom experience before now but it had to happen eventually. Could have done without it to be honest and I get why everyone bitches about it now.

I could never say it better than everyone else already has but its fiction. Things you would never condone in real life are perfectly fine to write or read about. It doesn’t mean you actually condone it in any way. Yes, certain relationships, if they were canon, would turn me off. But fanon means I can make a character older or younger and get rid of an age difference. It means I can craft a world where characters being together is safe, sane and consensual even if that wouldn’t be the case in a canon universe. Fandom is not canon. It’s just inspired by it.

If you have a problem with a relationship or any other content, just blacklist it. Avoid it entirely. Curate your fandom experience. I promise you will be happier for it. And I wouldn’t want anyone to see stuff that bothers them like that.

Fandom makes me happy and I want everyone else to feel the same. Canon too. I tried to watch one of the old James Bond movies a while back and had to stop because of some scenes that made me uncomfortable. And that’s okay. It’s okay to walk away.

(And I agree. Pedophilia and rape and abuse are all disgusting and the perpetrators should be shot. In real life. Fiction is not real. There is plenty of that in the real world that you can complain about and try to make a difference. Seriously. Go wild. There are child marriages happening as we speak. Celebrities dating minors and getting away with it because of their fame and money. Rapists walking free. Abusers hurting their spouses and children. It’s infuriating. And I encourage you to rant about it as much as you want. Don’t waste your time with fiction. There are real people out there that need help and real monsters that need to be called out. Call them out.)

hm. i wasnt going to post about it again but. i will. i don't want to put this in the tag but there are spoilers for the last two episodes of the pirate show. so scroll past if you don't want spoiled

but this is less a post about the show and more about. my mental episode. SA discussion tw.

ok so when i saw the episodes last thursday, i saw the implied sex scene and my sexual assault trauma got triggered. really bad. in fact so bad that it pushed me into full blown psychosis that lasted for like 12 hours. and then the subsequent days i felt residual fear.

i instinctively blocked anyone who giffed the scene in question or posted screencaps of it. or made posts celebrating it/making jokes of it. and in some cases blocked people who simply reblogged them.

i realize that people have written meta explaining "no, no really. this is consensual." but one, i don't think a piece of media should have to /require/ that sort of meta and, two, regardless of what was intended by the narrative, the direction taken in the filming of the scene /did/ trigger my sexual assault trauma. i even saw people make horrible posts like "i've seen people say this scene resembles SA to them and actually, THOSE people are spreading rape culture" ???????

anyway. in some cases, i've begun to gradually refollow people (especially former mutuals) that i blocked during my mental health episode. but i'm not quite there yet. i'm still... fragile.

now. i have encountered instances like this before. where media caused me upset (although not nearly to this degree, as this time it involved a comfort character) and like anything else that has triggered me, i've had to approach it with (controlled!) exposure therapy.

unfortunately, controlled exposure therapy would not be possible at this time, as i continue to encounter the scene against my will regardless of what website i am on (which is causing retraumatization). so, after the finale airs, i will likely need to blacklist the OFMD tag for a little while - stop going on AO3 etc. - giving me an entirely clean slate to work with.

but... yeah. i'm in a weird position where something i deeply love has become unsafe for me. where, i could not have guessed in a million years that my comfort character would violently slam his partner against the wall. no communication. no provocation. after his partner very clearly said he wanted to go slow. and that's fucking terrifying to me. i can't help but put myself in ed's shoes. because i would also want to go slow, for my own reasons. and what if my partner didn't care. just disregarded preestablished boundaries. forced himself onto me because of his own selfish desires. while i am trying to comfort him. while i open up about my childhood traumas.

it literally makes me feel physically ill. they could have framed the scene any other way. even if they were "pressed for time." what, they had time to give izzy a musical number but not enough to flesh out one of the most delicate and anticipated scenes of the entire show?

so to me, right now, that scene is my wooden shark. i do not acknowledge it as having happened. maybe that will change eventually? but i have to do that to protect myself.

and like. the response from (some) corners of the fandom to SA victims who were triggered by the ending of episode 6 is nothing short of cruel. i hope you guys learn to be compassionate to others.

If you want my attention, you have a better shot if you shoot me an ask, as I rarely check my mentions/replies. I have a shit ton of stuff blacklisted, so I may not see your asks/mentions/posts if they include slurs, content triggering to me, etc. It's not that I'm ignoring you, I'm just trying to take better care of my mental health, y'know? Gotta police my own intake of content, etc. etc.

Most things are tagged, so block what you need to using tumblr's own blocking function, Xkit, or Tumblr Savior. Slurs and triggering content usually have a CW before them, even if the OP doesn't consider the content triggering. I tag excessively, deal with it.

This is my yearly reminder that I have chr/istmas and related words both tag blacklisted and content blacklisted, so if you make posts containing those words just don't be surprised when I don't engage with them! Sometimes I will click through on a mutual's post anyway because I like seeing you happy about a holiday you celebrate but otherwise I keep it blacklisted so I'm not inundated at this time of year by a holiday I don't celebrate.

Event Week Upkeep (Art Credit, Busted Mobile Links, and Spoiler Tags)

Two weeks to go until Spinaraki Week: Round 3, and we the mods hope everyone is as excited as we are!

A few quick points to address before we get to the meat of this post:

Per a few questions about it, Mod Nal (@codenamesazanka) is the one who does all our graphics; look forward to more details from her about her fantastic screenshot mockup for this year's prompts at a later date!

I (Mod Stillness) noticed that the links to the rules and the text-based prompt list don't work on my mobile app, so for any who share that issue, if you want to review The Rules or get The Prompts in a nice easy format for copy-pasting, you'll find them beneath the Read More cut at the bottom of this post!

That said, I'd like to take a few minutes to address how we'll be tagging for spoilers for this event week. If you either don't care about spoilers or actively follow the weekly leaks, all you need to know is that we are NOT asking participants to tag their spoilers unless they wish to do so as a courtesy to their own followers; we'll be doing tagging on our end.

If you are concerned about spoilers, read on.

Regarding the currently airing season of the anime: the mods' assumption is that we don't have many people around here who are anime-only, as the anime has—to say the least!—not done a stellar job of translating the appeal of the ship. If you're following us and you are an anime-only, please do speak up either in the notes of this post or via ask to let us know if you'd like us to spoiler tag anything the anime hasn't gotten to yet!

Also, we're thrilled you exist and managed to find this pairing despite the anime's best attempts to hide it from you. Congratulations on your keen insight! You'll probably want to stop reading this post right about now, though.

For everyone else, given the events of the chapter that released just today—Chapter 369—it's looking like we are, for the first time, all but guaranteed to see some Spinner action during the course of the event week! How nerve-wracking thrilling! Chapter 370 is due to officially release on the 23rd, the day before the event starts; likewise, if these things follow the usual timing, leaks for Chapter 371 should start coming out in the Tuesday night to Thursday morning range, with the scanlation coming out on Friday and the official release closing out our week on Sunday.

Accordingly, we'll be tagging any work that deals with content from those chapters as bnha 370 and bnha 371, so do blacklist those if you want to be thorough about avoiding exposure to spoilers!

If anybody has any other requests about spoiler tags (ex. you're all caught up on Villain Hunt but running behind on the current arc) or tagging in general, feel free to weigh in as well with any requests!

RULES AND POLICIES

1) We will accept and reblog any fan-made work—fanfiction, fanart, meta, playlists, etc.—so long as it focuses primarily on Shigaraki and Spinner’s relationship and fits an appropriate daily prompt. The work must be newly published for the week, though if you wish to also use it as a fill for some other concurrent event, you’re welcome to do so. You can work with any of the daily prompts you like, singly or in combination. We try to keep them fairly broad, so feel free to get as creative as you like! We welcome any fill that satisfies some aspect of the chosen prompt(s).

2) We’re celebrating the relationship between Shigaraki and Spinner as it’s been, as it may be, and even as it could have been. Shippy-fic or gen-fic, canon-compliant or AU, romantic or platonic or any complicated place in between; we’re good with all of it. Polyshipping/OT3s are allowed, but the focus must remain on Shigaraki and Spinner.

3) Regarding content, we’re not placing hard limits on what we’re accepting. Shigaraki and Spinner are villains in a canon that goes to some shockingly dark places, so we consider exploration of that darkness fair game for fanwork. Likewise, given that this is a week focused on a relationship, we welcome NSFW content. We do, however, ask that all content be responsibly and appropriately tagged for any content you have reason to expect could be upsetting to others.

4) We’ll be checking the tags for spinarakiweek2022, spinarakiweekround3, spinarakiweek, and spinarakiweeknsfw. As stated above, please tag also for any work that requires content warnings. We’re only operating on tumblr, so if your work is hosted elsewhere, feel free to post a link to it and use one of our tags, though if you do so, you may also wish to message us about it, given tumblr’s notorious grouchiness about off-platform links. Feel free to message us if it seems like we’ve missed a fill of yours! Late entries are allowed and enthusiastically welcome.

5) No hating on other ships or characters—we’re here to celebrate and enjoy Spinaraki, so if there’s a character you can’t include without bashing them disproportionately to the canon, just don’t include them. Likewise, please be respectful of other participants and their work, whether or not it’s to your particular taste.

6) We reserve the right to exercise moderator discretion in the case of borderline rule violations or unforeseen issues.
