seeing such a saddening amount of islamaphobia on the internet these days. It’s crazy to me that people are comfortable making such generalizations about anyones faith. We can understand that Christianity is a spectrum. The gay pastors that walk in pride parades and the Catholic priests that condemn gays to hellfire are all part of the same religion, and we have no trouble understanding that. We can see the horrific violence by Jewish israeli right wingers and the progressive anti Zionist Jewish folks trying to stop it. They are both Jewish, and we understand that. Someone has made it their mission to make sure you see Muslims only in a bad light, to the point where people can’t even approach a question about Islam in just a normal way. (I saw someone say Islam is the most conservative religion, ummm how would you even begin to quantify that when there are so many variations and scriptures and disagreements about those scriptures and methods of practicing etc.?) the older I get the more I realize that someone’s religion tells you next to nothing about that person. It’s about the parts of scripture and practice they choose to honor that really tells you the values of that person, not the biased, warped image of a religion you try and impose upon them. - an atheist

fan fic writers don’t want fucking horrible comments left on their works that they just wrote for themselves and their likeminded pocket friends.

fan fic writers are creating incredible stories FOR FREE that we get to read and enjoy so just don’t be a fucking asshole.

if you don’t have anything positive and kind to say, don’t fucking say it. if you don’t like a certain aspect of a fic, JUST DON’T READ IT. you control your own fandom experience. if you continue to read or interact with something despite not liking it, that’s on you, not the writer. don’t take it out on them.
