philemonchambers This year has been one for the books for me. This has honestly been the most depressed I’ve ever been (true vulnerable moment). My show getting cancelled and other projects that I was in talks with either getting cancelled or not being able to do them really took a toll on my mental health. In my head I had lost so much I became jaded and it took me awhile to get over that and realize I gained a lot, I didn’t share my struggle because I didn’t know how….I now know WHY this year had to go the way it did. I gained a new appreciation for myself and giving myself true GRACE (which I said I wanted to learn for my 29th year). I made new connections and got to witness some amazing things that I wouldn’t have otherwise if I wasn’t home. I’m thankful for everything this year ended and everything it gave. Here’s to 2024 and all that it will bring 🫂✌🏽🥂#2023recap

My Walker: Independence submission for Walkerverse Hiatus Creations Week 5- B Season Promo

Alright folks we’ve got two trailers and two episode descriptions to work with so let’s get cracking!

First, let’s look at what he have so far:

1x08- "The Death of Mary Collins"

WILD PLANS – Abby (Kat McNamara) finds her secret identity in jeopardy when an estranged family member arrives in town and demands Tom’s (Greg Hovanessian) help finding Liam Collins’ missing wife. A restless Hoyt (Matt Barr) reconnects with his outlaw roots, Kai (Lawrence Kao) contemplates his future as his past begins to catch up with him, and Calian (Justin Johnson Cortez) receives a dire warning from a mysterious woman that may drive him back to Independence.

1x09- Strange Bedfellows

THE MONSTROUS AND THE BEAUTIFUL – Abby (Katherine McNamara) starts to question everything she thought to be true, much to the dismay of her friends. Kai (Lawrence Kao) thinks he’s seen a ghost when an unexpected person from his past appears in Independence, which makes Kate (Katie Findlay) suspicious. Gus (Philemon Chambers), Hoyt (Matt Barr) and Kate work together to help Kai, resulting in Gus making a move no one saw coming.

We have a lot of information on our hands but there’s still a lot of room to speculate. Here are my thoughts and predictions for the next half of the season:

We know for a fact that Abigail's sister will show up looking for her and that this will cause some issues regarding Abby’s undercover status within town. What we don’t know is who the Mary Collins in the title is referring to. It’s possible that Mary Collins is actually Abigail’s legal name and ‘killing’ her will secure Abby’s safety. Or Mary Collins could be entirely fictional. I’m leaning towards the former on this one.

We also know that something from Kai’s past will come up to cause trouble. This was foreshadowed with Amos Acorn’s threats during 1x04 but it looks like things will get more serious when the show returns. Kai’s feeling threatened enough to admit his troubles to Hoyt; it must be serious. I imagine the Tongs he slighted back in San Francisco have tracked him down at last. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

There’s also a clip of Kai kissing someone. I do hope that it’s Kate but we know his heart belonged to another once before. Perhaps she has returned? 1x09 is going to be Kai-centric episode from the looks of things so we’re going to be getting a lot of answers on that. I also wonder what the move no one saw coming from Gus will entail?

Based on the short shot from the trailer, we know that Hagan will be making another appearance. I hope it’s to make things up with Kate and possibly help against the Davidsons.

There was no shot of her in the trailer but Teresa’s actress posted some BTS photos of a return trip to set a while back so we know we’ll be seeing her again. I imagine the Davidsons have more dastardly plans. I imagine this is related the railroad stop coming to town. I wonder how Tom will be involved in all that. Will we get to see the Town Council in action? I also hope we’ll get to see more of the Davidson family.

Calian will also be seeing some trouble for his tribe, something serious enough to send him running back to town. I wonder if it has anything to do with the Buffalo Soldiers? Or perhaps there’s another tribe causing trouble? Maybe we’ll be seeing some period-typical Native American warring? Either way, I’m happy to see him rejoining the Independence crew, even if the circumstances aren’t the best.

Aside from meeting with Hagan, Kate is now taking on Abigail’s fight against the Davidsons alone now that she’s left the Pinkerton Agency. Pinkerton won’t be out of the picture entirely so I imagine we’ll be seeing her butt heads with Ethan again and possibly other Pinkerton agents.

And then there’s the relationship between Abigail and Tom, growing ever more gray by the day. I think we’re going to see them get closer over the course of the rest of the season. I believe Abigail is going to find out that Tom didn’t kill her husband after all and perhaps we’ll even get to see Tom make a turn toward defecting (and becoming the first Mr. Walker *crosses fingers*).

Aside from helping Kai, Hoyt has a new lifestyle to get used to. Without Francis or Luis, the Reyes ranch needs a new leader. Hoyt seems willing to take up the task but is he capable of it or will he keep getting pulled away by the needs of his friends? Will he be able to be present for Lucia like she needs right now? 1x08 has him reconnecting with his “outlaw roots”; will he be called away by former gang members or will he slip into underhanded tactics while trying to manage the ranch?

I can’t wait to see what happens next (and how many of my predictions come true!)

I feel like Walker: Independence is like a mixed bag of so many fun treats. And I am loving every single one:

Kat and Katie have so much chemistry. I am so glad that Abby appears to have a friend in the making. I know who Kate is and I'm sure that either is playing a role in this whole thing or (and I think more likely) that may come into play later on. Especially since we've seen that she takes care of the dancers. I think if she knows that Abby is Liam's widow, she's keeping that to herself...for now. Katie has really come into this and made this character her own, and it shows. She is perfect to play this part, and damn if she doesn't seem to steal every scene she's in.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I love Kai. I am so happy to see for once a Chinese character representing the Chinese faction of the Old West in media that is not portrayed as the typical stereotype we've seen in the past. Kai is very much involved in the story as is every other character, he is essential to the story and not just there to further other characters' stories. I am excited to see how his story unfolds, including his crush on Kate and his connection now with Abby, Calian, and Hoyt. And can I just say, Lawrence is so cute!!! I love him so much.

I cannot put my love for these two characters into words. Justin and Philemon are knocking it out of the park. I love that there is a semblance of trust between these two starting out, making it evident that these two have some sort of history. It's obvious that Calian does not trust easy (understandable, especially given his treatment at Hagan's, which in itself is accurate in its portrayal), and the fact that he believes Augustus to be a good man and needs to ensure it for himself when it's called into question...there's definitely a history there that I look forward to learning more about.

I have to say that I do enjoy Hoyt's character. He's dynamic and so much fun. Typical rugged, sassy, gunslinging outlaw but obviously with a heart. I've never seen Matt Barr before but I can see why Walker fans and producers alike loved him. He's got that something. I love that he already has a relationship with Lucia when the show starts and that even though it's not in his interest to help Abby, he does it anyway. I'm curious to see what happens when Hoyt has to go into that mode that we only saw a glimpse of in that card game in the pilot.

This guy. This guy, this guy, this guy. I have never seen this actor before but holy smokes. He definitely embodies everything that one hell of a character from a time period piece like this should. I don't know quite how to explain it but it's like Greg takes the Old West and cloaks himself in it, in each scene he has. There's something about him, even in his push and pull dynamic with Abby, that just flirts with danger (besides what we already know in the story about him) though we have no idea to what level that danger would be. It feels like there's a lot simmering underneath the exterior and I am eager as hell to find out what happens when it comes to the surface.

Imo, one of the best parts of the show. I love how he is not swept to the side and just used to further the story line. I also love how staunchly Abby defends him, and it's obvious how much she trusts him. Ngl, I do love me the bit of Abby/Calian vibe I'm feeling, but as a standlone character, I am looking forward to finding out more about Calian. I am hoping we get to see more of him soon. And Justin was the perfect choice to bring this character to life. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE him.

This guy!!! Omg, I am in love with this guy. There is so much potential with this character and it's almost like in the last episode, we got to see behind the curtain a little bit, and beyond that curtain lays so much promise to his story and Philemon's portrayal. I don't know how to put it into words but I am beyond excited every time he appears on screen. I feel for him that he got passed over and now this new person comes into town and takes over in the position that should have rightfully been his. I'm hoping that at some point in the future this gets rectified but man am I going to enjoy the ride to get there along the way. I really don't know how to properly articulate it but SO. MUCH. PROMISE with his story. And Philemon is just absolutely amazing!!! I may have squee'd like a fangirl in that shot in 1x02 where we see that he was the one holding the rifle after stopping the fugitive. That whole damn sequence was phenomenal!!!! So yes, I am very, very, very excited to learn more about him.

While we don't know too much about Lucia yet, what we have seen so far is amazing. I am looking very much forward to her story unfolding especially since her family owns that ranch. That part of the story alone is very intriguing to me, and I hope we either get to see the dynamics of her family soon or a few scenes at the ranch. I also would love to find out how she and Hoyt met and get to know more of their history. Gabriela does a fantastic job and just like with many of the other actors (and characters), it feels as if there is so much more waiting behind that curtain that we only have gotten a peek of. I think Gabriela (and Lucia) is going to be a tour-de-force.

Kat, Kat, Kat, Kat, Kat. I have loved Kat for a long time (though I've never seen her in Shadowhunters, I've seen her in other projects) and to be completely honest, other than the western genre, she was also a big draw for me to this project. I admit, I was bummed when CW decided to ax The Green Arrow and The Canaries, but if this is the trade-off, I am here for it. Kat does a wonderful job, as she always does, and I am beyond impressed with her (like usual lol). She was the perfect choice to play this character and I think she proves it in every scene she has. She appears to have great chemistry with each of the ensemble cast and it's obvious Kat is giving this role her all. I really feel like the show got it right when they hired her for this project, especially now that we've begun to unfold Abby's story and we've seen Abby interacting with every other main character. I think she's amazing and we've only just scratched the surface with what Kat can do as Abby in this series.

Overall, I think this show is brilliant. Imho, they're living up to the diversity they promoted while also telling a very compelling story set in a time period that is still rife with many untold stories that are still begging to be told. This may be part of a fictional universe but the era is not and I am glad they chose to tell this particular story in this way. I've seen many CW shows over the years, but nothing like this. And this is exactly what is needed for that network's viewers right now. It feels like this is an appropriate addition to the genre while maintaining that connection to younger generations and helping to solidify a new way of telling this type of western story (right along with the other new projects on the way that are also of this genre). I've never seen an episode of Walker but I don't find that I need to. This is a standalone (that may or may not call back to the flagship series from time to time, like I said I've never watched it) that is meant to tell a completely different story while also appropriately filling in the blank pages of the Walker family history (along with some others). I think this is going to be a phenomenal ride and I am excited to take it.

Últimamente me ha surgido una duda parecida en éste sentido: ¿Por qué a los cantantes, artistas ó estrellas de rock siempre siempre les dan muy mala fama; que andan metidos en drogas, alcohol,.sexo, orgías, rock y son aún así también depresivos e inclusivo suicidas; al final(entiendo qué no todos pero la mayoría hasta hay un club de los 27...

Y la otra parte paralela si los escritores cómo: Charles Bukowski, Alejandra Pizarnik, Silvia Plath, Ernest Hemingway...

Mi pregunta directa es ¿Por qué? ¿Hay alta sensibilidad,es la salud mental mala pero sobre todo el rock porque tiene ésa mala fama? ¡Yo AMO EL ROCK y me facina la música, acordes y etc.

Mírate a ti misma, una chica normal con una vida rutinaria y de repente en un super te ve un cazatalentos y te dice que le gustas para patrocinar una marca de cosméticos y un papel secundario en una peli ... una vez has dicho si, comienzan las fiestas para que conozcas gente, conseguir mas patrocinadores, todos toman copas, tu no vas a hacerles el feo de no beber, así que te tomarás un par de copas, de repente tus redes sociales suben de seguidores como un rayo, te persiguen los fotógrafos, ya no eres una persona "normal" en la calle, el como vistas , te peines y maquillas va a ser comentado, te vuelves influencer sin darte cuenta, mas fiestas, esta vez con drogas, proposiciones indecentes a cambio de un papel protagonista, puede que renuncies un par de veces pero terminarás probándolo todo .. de repente te codeas con los que fueron tus actores y cantantes favoritos y no quieres parecerles sosas, harás lo mismo que hagan ellos, derrocharás dinero y puede que te conviertas en una Justina Bieber mal educada (menos mal que haley Baldwin lo ha centrado)

Esto ha existido toda la vida, desde que existe el cine, la música ...la fama y es algo que no va a cambiar.

Muchos no soportan el estrés y prefieren abandonar la vida, otros saben controlar y proteger su intimidad del trabajo.

Todo depende de cada persona, hasta la realeza lo hace a puertas cerradas 😝

Es una cambio muy fuerte el no tener nada y de un día a otro tenerlo todo, acceder a todo ,nadie quiere ser discriminado así que ¿Por qué no ibas a probarlo todo? porque al principio tu crees que controlas la situación, pero realmente no es así.

Ahí están las famosas fiestas de Freddy Mercury, Elton Jhon o David Bowie donde corría la coca como un río.

El rock requiere de mucho esfuerzo en un escenario, mucho movimiento, mucho desgaste y después de estar gritando y saltando durante 2 horas lo mejor para relajarse es colocarse ,así lo explicó Jon Bon Jovi en una entrevista y hay un documental en Netflix sobre HEROES DEL SILENCIO a los que yo adoraba y resulta que iban colocados las 24/7, Brittney Spears también tomaba estupefacientes para soportar las galas en las Vegas o Miley Cyrus por voluntad propia y así tantos y tantos, hasta de quien menos creas 👍

El actor interpretó a este personaje desde el inicio de la serie en 2003 hasta su final en 2015; durante las primeras 10 temporadas fue uno de los personajes principales, protagonizando junto a John Cryer y Charlie Sheen (posteriormente Ashton Kutcher).

Sin embargo, en la temporada 11 decidió decirle adiós al programa, regresando en el episodio final con un breve cameo. Las primeras temporadas de la serie estaban orientadas hacia el peso de Jake, quien siempre estaba comiendo comida chatarra.

Para las últimas temporadas, ya como un joven adulto, Jones mostró un cuerpo más esbelto, dejando a los espectadores con esa imagen en su memoria.

Su descontento fue tal, que para el año 2012 apareció en un video de un ministerio cristiano donde pedía a la gente que dejara de ver la serie. Estas fueron sus palabras mientras la temporada 10 de la serie estaba en emisión:

“Jake no significa nada. Es un personaje que no existe. Estoy en Two and a Half Men, y no quiero estar allí. Si ustedes ven Two and a Half Men, por favor dejen de verlo y de llenar su cabeza con porquería. La gente dice que es solo entretenimiento. Hagan una investigación sobre los efectos de la televisión y su cerebro, y les aseguro que tendrán que tomar una decisión en lo que respecta a la televisión, sobre todo en lo que ven”.

Al parecer, Angus continúa con su camino religioso, pero además, trabaja en una productora llamada Tonita la cual fundó en 2016 junto a Justin Combs, hijo del rapero Diddy Combs.
