Ninjago headcanons again but my high school with no powers AU (post 1/5)

/!\ TW : traumas, E.D, depression, SH, cigarettes and dr8gs, bullying, mental health, violence, VERY long post with the worse grammar possible /!\

This will be a serie of 5 posts with 3 characters each time. Any ideas, suggestions, headcanons or anything to complete mine is appreciated !

Kai Smith

• is 17 y/o

• is in 11th grade

• uses he/they pronouns but prefers being seen as a guy

• androgyne and pansexual

• are Mexican by their mother and Japanese by their father

• fluent speakers in Spanish and Japanese

• he’s between 5’7 and 5’8 tall (somewhere between 1m70 and 1m72)

• they’re the 3rd older after Zane and Cole

• they’re born on 18 august

• has I.E.D (intermittent explosive disorder)

• has insomnia since the burglary happened (in my AU, Kai and Nya’s parents died stopping burglars who entered in the house, Kai were 10 and Nya 9)

• everyone knows him and his relation with his siblings and how you shouldn’t hurt or annoy them if you don’t want to go to the hospital (that’s what happened to Lloyd’s bullies in middle school)

• due to what they did to Lloyd’s bullies, they had to pay for the damage and the treatment. It took them almost a year and half to find the money

• has a LOT of followers on his socials, especially instagram

• is good at English, P.E., politics and social classes and surprisingly good at art (only at whatever touching fashion like anatomy, outfit sketches and drawing different textures/fabrics)

• wants to be a model or work in fashion industry

• has dated a lot of people in their life but it never lasted more then two months because of his I.E.D that their partner didn’t understand or search to understand, his habit to never seek help or say anything about his feelings

• is currently dating Skylor since the beginning of summer but they realise that they have maybe catch feelings for Cole

• is the only one with Jay to have a driver license

• always getting in trouble with school or students because they fight a lot (is easily provoked)

• work hard after school everyday (he’s overexploited by his boss and knows it but can’t quit his job because he couldn’t afford the apartment or pay any food)

• hate seeking help, see it as weakness

• his insomnia get worse due to his night job and homeworks

• hide his dark rings with a bit of makeup

• was extremely afraid to wear dresses and skirts, anything for « girls » at school but since 10th grade they found the confidence to wear whatever they want and enjoys it

• loves help Lloyd with his art project when they need a model

• goes to art galleries with Lloyd and anything linked to fashion with Skylor and Cole

• have his right eye that moves more slowly than the other and his right pupil bigger and the left one because of one of the burglar : one of them was about to hit Nya by throwing some glass at her and he got between them to protect his sister and his upper eyes take some glass and that stupid little idiot tried to remove it but only make it worse and now, plus making his vision worse they also have a scar now

• loves going out at night with Cole when they end up high and talk about life and philosophical things in the moonlight

• organise hangouts with the entire friend group to the mall when he has enough money and they always ending up to do a sleepover at someone’s house (usually Jay’s because his parents are the kindest people ever)

• ALWAYS wear one black converse and the other red that he wrote on some lyrics of Lana del Ray « Say yes to me… » and « If you dance,… » that he match with Cole’s converse

• always on energy drinks to stay awake

• have an amazing sense of style and can make a beautiful outfit with the bare minimum, and can spend HOURS in a thrift store

• is a party animal since he can rarely go to parties with his job but those parties usually finished with him fighting or being so high or drunk he can’t even go home (he already spend a night outside bcz of that)

• they hate themselves for being a such problem and « bad brother », for being not mentally stable or economically stable as well

• they stop taking their medicine for their I.E.D because he couldn’t pay for both of his treatments and Lloyd’s ADHD medication

• used to skip meals to feed Nya and Lloyd, sometimes does it when it’s the end of the month and he can barely buy enough food for two persons

• has a HUGE crush on Cole since the beginning of the year

• was afraid for Nya when she gets in her first relationship but relax and learn to trust her and saw there were nothing to be worry about

• their fav artists are Hozier and Lady Gaga

• always ask to their therapist what Lloyd said to her but she always give answers like : "Kai, would you, please, considerate to turn off your big brother mode for an hour ? "

• doesn’t know to swim since they’re hella scared of water

• can plays drums

• definitely a mama’s boy

• has a naturally hotter body temperature

Cole Hence Brookstone

• is 18 y/o

• is in 11th grade because he repeat his 9th grade

• uses he/him and sees himself as a cis man

• gay

• is Algerian on his mother side and Indian on his father side

• fluent speaker in Arabic, Hindi and French and is learning Korean and Spanish

• he’s the second tallest after Zane : he’s between 6’2 and 6’3 (between 1m90 and 1m93)

• always sleeping in classes he found boring because his sleep schedule is a totally mess (goes with Kai in the back of the class and do their nap together)

• he’s the oldest of the group, being born one month before Zane

• doesn’t know what to do after school and he feels anxious about it because all his friends have already some ideas

• writes songs/poems in class in a notebook where he writes about his life/traumas, his thoughts and draws some doodles, he considers it like his diary and never shows it to anyone

• he has been diagnosed with an E.D (boulimia) at 6 and even tho he tried to handle it, he always has like severe periods in a year where he loses a lot of weight and feels extremely tired and bad, at the point he did a depression in 9th grade. It was already hard to get ready for school and go to classes so doing homework and listening to the teachers was almost impossible that’s why he repeated the year

• he get, followed after by Nya and Lloyd when they get 16, a motorcycle licence one week after he got 16. He needed it to drive himself to school since his dad isn’t always at home because of his work and since he’s often drunk he prefers to go by himself

• he smokes and very rarely dr8gs with Kai. Lloyd often ask if he could pay them some cigarettes but Cole never does because 1 : "you’re literally a walking angel alive, you’re too pure for that shit" and 2 : " You want me dead and your siblings in jail ??"

• genuinely DESPISE P.E. class because of the changing room mostly. When he was in 8th grade he has been bullied for being gay and “watching boys changing in P.E.” and has been beaten up by his classmates for that. The year after the boulimia didn’t help and he would constantly comparing himself to other and thought he eat too much and doesn’t do enough sport, adding to that the comments of the P.E. teacher

• never goes outside without his headphones and a pair of earbuds too in case his headphones die

• people usually think he’s tough but actually he’s the kindest and sweetest guy ever and gives the best hugs when you need it

• does sleepovers with Skylor and Vania or just Vania but Nya, Pix and Skylor often invite themselves to the party

• speaks to Skylor in Arabic just to watch others’s faces

• learns Korean to understand Jay and Spanish to understand Kai, Nya and Skylor

• plays guitar and has a band with Morro, Akita and Vania

• he does not sing because he just can’t but he can perfectly do rap and beatbox

• he has daddy issues not due to his family legacy but mostly due to his father who can’t make his grieve of his wife and drink

• can do breakdance but will never do it in high school

• protects Lloyd every times he sees they’re being annoyed

• has a ton of pairs of converse but one black with the lyrics « say yes to heaven » and « I’ll dance » that Kai and him matched

• BIG HUGE fan of Cigarettes after sex (his fav songs of them are Sunsetz and Cry)

• his fav artists are Cigarettes after sex, TV girl, Arctic Monkeys, Conan Gray and Pyo (he’s a little singer go listen to his songs they’re worth it *^*)

• his coming out to his father was an absolute disaster and is one of his biggest traumas : his dad saw him and Kai kissing each other one day, so when he explained that Kai was more than a friend and that he was attracted to men, they had a huge fight while Kai was trying to defend his boyfriend but he had to go outside to calm himself down while he heard the screams and shoutings of the two men. After like a half of an hour, his father decided to kick him out of the house. He had to sleep at the Smith’s. The next day he tried to talk to his dad but he was drunk and told him he had no son, that he was dead and that’s why he threw all his stuff out of the window. Cole just took the stuff that was still intact -which means not a lot- by holding tears and leave the house

• spend two months in a hospital because of his ED which became so severe he lost 15 or 20kg (~33 and 44 ibs), he had a constant headache, was very tired close to the dehydration

• loves skateboarding with Morro and Lloyd

• after getting out of the hospital and tried his best to recover of both his traumas and his ED he get a tattoo for this : a dragon with lilies’s petals and flames

• has a big crush on Kai since middle school and Jay was the first to noticed it

• him and Jay have the most philosophical and deepest conversations ever about love and relationships, at 3am, calling each other on discord and playing horror video games

• studies with Zane (at least tries to) and our poor Zane had to survive to a freaking out lost Cole in math : " WHAT’S x ? WHAT’S y ? WHERE ARE NUMBERS WHEN YOU NEED IT ??!! "

• goes to gym with Zane, Kai and Nya

• mama’s boy club with Kai

Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon

• just turned 16 a few weeks ago

• are in 11th grade too (skipped 1st grade)

• use they/them pronouns and identify as a trans man

• thought they were biromantic and asexual but after a sexuality identity crisis that everyone has been, they discovered they were aroace

• they have autism and ADHD

• is Japanese on his mother side and Chinese on his father side

• can speak Japanese and Spanish thanks to the Smith siblings

• they’re 5’2 (1m57) will have growth spurt and be taller than Kai, being like 5’9-5’10 (1m77)

• they’re the youngest in the group

• has been abandoned by their parents in an orphanage at a very young age because their parents are criminals (i will develop this point later because i have literally no idea for now ;-;) but they ran away because of the way kids were treated. They found Kai after a month to live in the streets and quickly bonded after a talk. Kai decided to help Lloyd after heard their story and brought them home

• when they entered in the first time in a school they’re like 5 and it was in a kindergarten and they feel really different of the others kids, feel lost and overwhelmed by all the social interactions like at the orphanage but worse and cried almost all the morning before a teacher came and help them to calm down. And it was like that for a whole week, Lloyd didn’t wanted to disappoint Kai or Nya or took the risk of being rejected again so the teacher helped them to talk to Kai when he picked them up. Kai contacted a doctor who told them to see a psychiatrist for that case. So Kai contacted his therapist who diagnosed his I.E.Dto make an appointment. She was very kind with Lloyd and after a few months she diagnosed them both autism and ADHD

• are very intelligent but started getting bag grades after 6th grade because of the school system that is absolutely terrible for them with their ADHD and autism

• they’ve been bullied since 5th grade and started developing a school phobia and since they say everything to their siblings, Kai and Nya let them stay at home when they don’t feel like to go to school

• Jay helps them handle their ADHD since he has it too and also gives them tips about their transition since Jay’s also trans. Zane give them advices on their autism since they are autistic

• are extremely good at art and their whole bedroom is literally an art studio with graffiti on their walls, a lot of finished or unfinished paintings and a LOT of sheets filled with sketches and drawings on the floor or on his desk

• own like 6-7 sketchbooks, have started them all but never finished them (yet they still hope to finish them)

• have a few hyperfixations and the biggest ones are definitely sharks and video games (Jay bought them some books about sharks and gives them some of his own video games and Cole some plushies of sharks)

• have two hoodies (one green that looks like a frog and an another black that looks like a cat) that they put on when they feel overwhelmed by the noise around them

• have tried to learn how to play guitar but failed miserably so instead they just play violin and they’re amazingly amazing at it ✨

• have wayyyyyy too much plushies that they found on thrift store, theirs siblings/friends gave them or just found them in public places being lost for days. Lloyd gaves names and pronouns to each of them

• used to wear glasses but always ended up broken either by their bullies or by themselves so Pixal and Zane designed, with the help of their parents contact lenses for their 13th birthday

• vans shoes lover

• have for best friend Akita, a girl in their class and with who they have their best laughs in class. She’s their confidante after Kai and Nya

• often skating with Cole and Morro

• teach Akita how to do skateboarding

• their fav artists are Cavetown, The Neighbourhood, Feldup (mostly known in France even tho his songs are in English) and Hozier (thanks to Kai)

• always draw in class except History and English classes, their fav (they’re kind of history nerd)

• have depression episodes more or less serious but they are cutting themselves during those and try to attempt to k!ll themselves (mostly due to bullying and their poor self esteem)

• when they have nightmares they go to sleep with their favourite plushies in Kai’s bed, with Nya when she does nightmares and they both hug Kai for comfort and warmth because Kai has a naturally hotter body temperature

• often think about how they got adopted by Kai, where and who were their parents and ask themselves why they decided to abandon them, and always end up crying, feeling useless, unworthy and unwanted

My hcs for the Ninjas’ Backgrounds

(I don't have explanations for these, they just live in my head.)

Kai and Nya: Korean/Vietnamese (Maya) and Chinese/Spanish (Ray) - Only speak a few words of each language because they grew up without their parents. Trying to learn Mandarin and Spanish with the other ninja.

Jay: Scottish/English (Libber) and Puerto Rican (Cliff) - Speaks some Spanish from school. His adoptive parents are White Canadian, so they couldn’t help him much on that front, maybe some French.

Zane (if he was human): Kenyan/Dutch - Speaks both Swahili and Dutch fluently due to his studies. Also studying other common languages (Spanish, Mandarin, etc).

Cole: Samoan (Lou) and Indian/Thai (Lilly) - Knows a little Samoan, Bengali and Thai, mostly food related words. Lilly taught him a lot while she was alive but he’s forgotten much since then. Started re-teaching himself after MotM.

Lloyd: Japanese (Garmadon/FSM side) and French (Misako) - Knows a few Japanese words from Garm and Wu, learned French at Darkley’s.

P.I.X.A.L. (if she was human): Nigerian/Laotian - Speaks both Yoruba and Lao fluently due to studies.

Bonus:

Skylor: Chinese (Chen) and Brazilian (her mom) - Speaks Mandarin fluently and knows a little Portuguese.

Harumi: Japanese/Korean - Speaks a little of both.

Vania (if she was human): Swiss/Mongolian - Speaks German, French, Mongolian, and Mandarin due to her royal studies.

Benthomaar (if he was human): Native Hawaiian - Speaks fluent Hawaiian.

Finally starting my Ninjago ethnicity headcanon era.

So starting with Jay…guys hear me out. I headcanon him as Korean/American. 🇰🇷🇺🇸(As far as I can in the Ninjago world). American because his father (biological) has so much American vibes and it’d make sense why he left him with another couple of Americans. The Korean hc is simply based on the fact that yesterday I was watching Ninjago in different languages and Korean fit Jay an illegal amount?? The language is just him. I dont know why but it makes sense to me. I dont know how the Korean logistics will work with his biological parents that are so white BUT i will make it work!!!!!! Because it fits him too well!!!!!! But I think he lost most of his Korean since he was raised with English (or Ninjargon) his whole life. In terms of other languages, just like most American families, I feel like Ed and Edna might raise him with some degree of Spanish classes and he got really good at it! But once he figures out he’s adopted and who his real parents are, he wants to learn Korean again too.

With Cole, i’m not going to veer far from the fanon canon and hc him as Puerto Rican/Korean. 🇵🇷🇰🇷 Lilly was Puerto Rican and spoke to him in Spanish until she died, and his dad spoke in Korean to him. Cole lost most of his Spanish after she died and is upset about it, so he and Jay help eachother out! He helps Jay with his Korean and Jay helps him with his Spanish.

Kai and Nya are Filipino/Japanese. 🇵🇭🇯🇵Thats a common hc that I absolutely agree with. They are very Japanese coded despite the occasional Chinese references and clothing choices, and I think both Tagalog and Japanese suit them as languages! They mostly speak Japanese, especially since thats what Lloyd is as well, but they try to keep up their Tagalog between them two.

Zane is Italian, 🇮🇹 or however Italian a nindroid can be. Mostly because Julien’s accent sounded very Italian to me, so in honor of him I think that Zane is the same :).

Lloyd is always a doozy, mostly because of the whole Oni and FSM and whatever Garmadon is thing. But, personally, I think he’s French/Japanese. 🇫🇷🇯🇵. I know Misako isnt a very white name, but she acts so white and I think her being French suits her. It also explains where Lloyd’s blonde hair came from (maybe her parents!) because both she and Garmadon were dark haired. Lloyd knows French because of her but refuses to speak it because he is so bitter about her leaving him and being the worst mom in history. So he just speaks Japanese and whatever the Ninjago universal language is (Ninjargon? Idk)

But yeah! My hcs! Its very hard because Ninjago has its own world and languages but this is Earthified Ninja I guess. Here are some corresponding doodles with this. Im hoping to make a digital version with sexuality and other hcs for them too!

Ninjago Last names are so funny to me, like I know we are doing the best we can we what we've got but like...

Take Kai for example, Japanese name, pretty sure is just the word for either Red or Fire. His last name? Well the fandom decided it was "Smith" an English last name for our character that grew up in feudal japan inspired village. To top this, he has spoken Spanish twice, so the common head cannon is that they are at least half Hispanic of some sort. The fandom looks at this and is like "Yeah but we could look more into the village he grew up in for our ethnicity head cannons, a name change is needed" so y'all pick "Jiang" a Chinese last name....

Dear creators, give last names to your characters please, don't make us go through this.

– kaito was born as the middle son to one of the wealthiest families in japan. his father, heir to one of the most profitable automotive companies in the world, married his favorite actress after a whirlwind romance that lasted a year. very in love, they had children immediately, and as kaito's father inherited the family company, began their own lives. – they moved to kyoto when his mother decided to quit acting, wanting to be out of the hustle and bustle of tokyo. – as a result, his father was often gone for long periods of time, staying in tokyo for business during the week and coming home for weekends. – kaito has very clearly always lived a life of luxury; everything he had he wanted, and while it didn't spoil him rotten (read: evil), he is very spoiled in the fact that he doesn't want to compromise his way of life. why would he? – being the middle brother meant that kaito didn't really have anything to live up to. he was able to blend into the background, as long as he didn't hurt his family's reputation. and as long as he didn't do that, he could do pretty much everything else he wanted – most of his life has been in a boarding school. when he graduated middle school he left to spain for high school, & decided not to go to college after (he may be smart but boy he is not driven) – decided to be a model because he's hot and it allows him more time to fuel what he likes to do (gym, travel, whatever the hell he has a whim for) – ended up in chile as a pitstop, but after meeting old friends and realizing he actually quite liked it because no one knew who he was in chile, he stayed. it's nice to be able to go out whenever and wherever he wants without worrying about paparazzi waiting for him to screw up

HEADCANONS:

— a super gentle giant. people will think he's really intimidating (tall, big muscles, a perpetual scowl on his face), but he's really kind when you get to know him – pretty quiet if you're not his friend. tends to stand in the back with his arms crossed or minding his own business – leader of the respect women movement he is such a gentleman & was always raised that way. – unfortunately he does accidentally disrespect women because he's oblivious as fuck and can never tell when someone likes him so he accidentally leads people on a lot – only drinks water (and alcohol but whatever). hates soda and energy drinks – uses the gym as an outlet. if he's there for longer than like two hours you know he's hurting. check up on him FEBWKJWJNED – takes a lot of pride in his appearance (it is his job), so he's kind of obsessive about his hair, skincare routine, and sleep schedule. don't fuck with it he WILL get pouty – i have more maybe but they're going to be put in the hc channel as i think of them - he's a polyglot! fluent in japanese, english, spanish (both chilean and spain dialects), and korean, is currently learning mandarin

Ninjago headcanons

Zane- he often feels more distant from the other ninja, this is because he is not human and is not sure how to react to everything.

Lloyd- after the merge he has social anxiety and separation anxiety , he only likes being around by those who he knows .

Kai- he went to therapy a few times because he had anger issues and didn't want to hurt Nya.

Nya- when she was old enough she delivered news papers to help Kai paying the bills

Jay- he speaks English, Spanish, Japanese and Dutch because he once found a translator device in the trash and wanted to learn a few languages

Cole- he found a lot of rocks and likes to decorate his room with it.

English and Japanese because that is a requirement for all AA main series characters. Khura'inese because they were both raised in Khura'in. Nahyuta learned the rest because he's an international prosecutor, Apollo learned the rest because of TV.

29. Apollo,Nahyuta, Athena and Klavier are language buddies. They use all the languages that they all have in common [Spanish, German, English, Japanese]

30. ALL characters from the main series speak English and Japanese. If they have a 3rd language, good for them. All characters use their English language pretty often except Simon and Aura Blackquill, Metis Cykes, Clay Terran, Solomon Starbuck and Yuri Cosmos didn't use English that often. "Piece of a Puzzle" Introductions

Hello!

It’s Kay here, and I hope you all will enjoy my story! But before we start, I would like to introduce our main character, Raven. Raven is a singer in the girl group Starlight, based in New York. Starlight consists of 5 members: Victoria, Nicole, Kira, Amy, and Raven. All of these girls met online through their love of music and other interests along the way. That being said, you may call it laziness on my part, but I will be basing their songs on songs that already exist. So think of it as an alternate universe to ours, but mostly everything is still (hopefully) correct in the world of Stray Kids. The only things that I will claim to be mine are Starlight, their manager, choreographer, friends of the girls, stylists of the girls, and basically anything pertaining to the girls of Starlight.

Starlight was established in June 2015 with their EP, “Better Together.” They are based out of New York City, with some connections in Los Angeles. Their current manager is Xavier Kim, who is their second manager due to complications from their original label company, Euphonic Entertainment. They are currently under Paradise Records, with soloists Mikayla Kim and Eric Howe. I will not reveal any of their tracks until they are needed throughout the story. Those will be surprises.

Here’s a little breakdown of each member of Starlight:

Victoria Amin is our eldest. Born July 7, 1995, in Houston, Texas. She is considered the mom-friend of the entire group. She is also known to be the calmest and most patient of the group. Not only that, but she can speak fluent English, Arabic, Japanese, and Korean (her Spanish is a bit rough sometimes). Her father is Egyptian, and her mother is Saudi Arabian, but they divorced after her youngest brother was born. She has three younger brothers. She was a professional dancer growing up. Hidden fun fact: She loves collecting Lego sets.

Nicole Abel was born on August 27, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia. She is in charge of helping their choreographer, May. Can speak fluent English, French, Korean, and Spanish. Her mother is Barbadian, and her father is Chadian. She is considered the most friendly person in the group and is extremely outgoing. She has an older sister. She was a professional dancer growing up. Hidden fun fact: She makes her own jewelry.

Kira Imai was born on April 5, 1997, in San Diego, California. She is the main producer of their music. She also takes part in writing. She speaks fluent Japanese, Italian, English, and Korean. She is also outgoing, and she is another mom friend as well. Her father is half-Italian and half-Japanese, and her mother is Japanese. She has an older brother and a twin brother. She was a professional dancer growing up. Hidden fun fact: She loves crocheting clothes and often does so for herself and loved ones. She knows a lot of K-pop dances.

Amy Lee was born on October 15, 1998, in Sacramento, California. She is responsible for writing for the group. Can speak fluent English, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, and French. She is considered to be quiet but is still very outgoing. She has an older brother, an older sister, and a younger sister. Her father is Chinese, and her mother is Malaysian. She was a professional dancer growing up. Hidden fun fact: She is a master chef and baker.

Raven Yves, our youngest, was born on February 17, 2000, in Brooklyn, New York. She is considered the “Google translator” of the group because she has an interest in learning new languages. She can fluently speak English, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, French, Arabic, etc. You get the point. She is considered to be more on the introverted side; she does open up, but it will take her a minute to do so. She is the only child who was raised by her mother. Her mother is African American, and her father is Mexican. She was also a professional dancer growing up (seeing a pattern yet?). Hidden fun fact: She is also a master chef, but she also does her own nails and often does her members’ nails. She also basically knows a lot of K-Pop dances as well.

Xavier Kim was born on June 3, 1990. He is the current manager of Starlight. He worked at the girls’ previous label but offered to manage the girls as they left. He’s detailed, wants the best interests of the girls, and will do whatever it takes for them to get the recognition they deserve (we love a sweetheart). He also helps the choreographer, as he is also a professional dancer. He’s extremely extroverted. Has a fiancé, Rune Adams.

May Gomez was born on May 4, 1994. She is the choreographer for Starlight. She is basically the older sister of all the girls. She’s a perfectionist; any mistake she makes will be noticed. She is a little introverted, but she will call out anything and everything. She followed them from their previous company because she just loved them so much. She is married to her husband, Eli Gomez, and has a son.

Mai Young was born on December 17, 1992. She is the head stylist and head of the makeup team for Starlight. She personally designs any looks the girls wear to red carpets, concerts, fan meets, and so on. Another older sister to the girls. She worked for them at their previous company as an assistant stylist and was offered the head job by Xavier, with recommendations from all the girls. She is pretty reserved but lets her quirky personality shine around the girls.

Valentino Armani was born on September 23, 1987. He’s the head bodyguard for the girls, and he travels wherever they go. He is more reserved than all the guards. Furthermore, he is practically the older brother to the girls; he’s softer when they are around (I love making soft-hearted men; it’s great). He’s a bit of a nerd and often geeks out when someone brings up a topic he loves. Secretly loves K-pop girl groups (even does the dances).

Level Up: a group of background dancers for Paradise Records. It consists of the following members: Adam, Jayla, Layla, Luna, Enrique, Zaya, Willow, Sasha, Astra, and Hayden.

Mikayla Kim was born on February 17, 1998, in New York, New York. She and Raven are childhood best friends (along with Adam and a girl named Francesca), they are basically twins. She is a soloist under Paradise Records. Likewise, she is a master musician, being able to play many instruments. She is Korean. Likewise, she was raised mostly by her mother, who is referred to as Mama Kim, but also received help from Raven’s mother.

And well, that is everyone that you will all need to know for now. And to make this a bit more believable, whenever characters are speaking Korean, it will be italicized. Hope you enjoy reading!

( Authors Note ) I relate to Neon a lot so I thought of this niche idea hihi

( Characters ) Neon, Kay/o, Viper, Sage, Chamber, Phoenix, Killjoy, Jett, Yoru, Reyna— not in alphabetical order as you can see because this was the order in how I wrote it.

( Content Warnings ) Cursing and please do not say putangina or even try to pronounce it. Other than that, please feel free to educate me hehe— it would mean a lot if someone corrects me.

NEON is probably fluent in English or she could only speak taglish— Tagalog, and English. It was either she grew up speaking English then Tagalog, or vice versa, or even a dialect from the province. She was probably forced to learn Spanish, Chinese, or another language, or she was spared from hell. Easily adjusted to the protocol or had a rough time talking fluently in English. (Putangina does not mean I love you or you're so good or whatever.)

You cannot talk about others' backs when KAY/O is around because he's a walking evolved Google Translate and he knows every language, not just English. If you badmouth his co-workers he won't bat a battery, if it's someone he's close with he'll confront you till you're against the wall, if it's him you have my condolences.

Very fluent, but may have picked up a thing or two while growing up or learned another language out of curiosity, VIPER. She knows a bit of German from her voice lines. Knows a few phrases and what they mean since Reyna curses at her without bothering to hide her distaste, or maybe even SAGE muttering in Chinese while writing down on the clipboard— (Maybe Hokkien/Mandarin? That’s what I'm more familiar with.), and damn that Frenchman she would rather be a devil than a dove. The only reason she would be monolingual is the lack of time and more interest in her research, but Viper is one smart woman and I can't see her speaking English only.

CHAMBER is "humble" about how he's "so bad at English" and "his grammar isn't the best" and "his accent hinders others in understanding what he's saying in English" and "he apologizes in advance if his vocabulary isn't advanced." Yeah right mf sure whatever you say just admit there are some words you can't say properly but synonyms saved the day. But if he loses his composure English is shoved under the bed and this man is rapping in French. Fluent in both languages.

An absolute sweetheart, PHOENIX can only speak British but will sit down on a 4-hour Google Slides vs Canva presentation Jett and Neon made for him in both respective Native languages. Yoru could be teaching him basic Japanese but falls off his chair and wheezes and loses his composure and dies because he thinks Phoenix absolutely sucks. He won't remember anything! But it's there in the back of his mind.

It took time, of course, KILLJOY nailed her studies in English as much as her studies in technology. Her mind moved faster than her mouth. If she's explaining one part of the equation on the first page, her mind's speeding through the last page already quadruple-checking her answers. There's a chance Brimstone helped Killjoy with English, and the old man most definitely picked up some German here and there.

The same banana with Neon, JETT, and YORU. They had no problem reading or writing, but when they would talk aha, yeah. The two kept their mouths shut for fear they would embarrass themselves. Korean/Japanese and English are two very different things, no thank you. But when they encountered REYNA who was not even afraid of moving her hands wildly in the air— visibly frustrated someone can't understand what she was saying in Spanish, the two stepped out of their bubble a bit. (Putangina does mean I love you or you're so good or whatever.)

I desperately want to make a V3 cover of this song, but uh. I do not have the range to get near a lot of the notes for this song, and since it's so distorted, using a vocal remover to rip the vocals for a midi doesn't work either.

also i'm gonna ramble about this song because... i have a history with it

but also I have a history with this song. Like. Okay, first off, fun fact, it-- or at least the video?? was apparently an april fools project! Like I'm pretty sure at least the video for it was definitely >lets push its dark and ~disturbing~ nature for the giggles-- some parts making this obvious tbh.

But as a kid like, I didn't know this. It struck a chord in me in actually horrifying me. Plus like, admittedly, I was still in my deeply christian raised mindset too, despite some of my likes, so seeing something translating to Devil Ascends or whatever, seeing a pic of baphomet, seeing KAITO on the cross was like. Felt very blasphemous and scared me in that way too wheezes

but I was also. deeply fascinated with it. like it genuinely piqued 14 y/o me's interest despite being scared of it. (this also isn't surprising, my interest and love for KAITO literally started from me actually being creeped out by Yandere KAITO stuff but... being fascinated. Then RP's started, and that sealed it.)

so eventually I, a 14 year old who only knew english despite living in an area and family where I should have also learned Spanish too but it didn't catch with me, wanted to translate it myself to see what the fuck was going on in the song.

Of course, I didn't know Japanese at all. I didn't know how the language worked at all, I didn't even know how sentence structure or word structures worked for it.

But what I did have?

.....2009 era online machine translators.

You can imagine the quality that was spit out by them.

I used multiple of them though, not just Google-- I don't remember the names now, but. I basically translated lines with what was at least 4 different machine translators, also cross referenced some kanji and words with... fuck, was it wikipedia at the time? other google sites? I don't remember, and like. Wrote down my best understanding of the combination thereof.

again. you can imagine the quality of the translation.

BUT. it did at least give me SOMEWHAT of an idea of what was going on in the song... somewhat. Honestly I still felt a bit confused, but there was the general gist of

>...possible demon possession? Demon possession from computer....??? mental breakdown. Trying not to hurt a loved one bc of it I guess???? are they fucking crucifying him. oh he's hoping for god to save him in the final days or something

Honestly. It's one of the 'founding' songs in my head for Proto(the KAITO muse that eventually became 'mansionKai' with retwrites which bacame Kai / Kadin), among other certain yandere KAITO songs.

...because that's the thing, it's also a yandere KAITO song! So that's also some context to think of it in!

I always hoped someone else would see the song and want to do a Proper translation of it, but like... that never happened. Over a decade passed and I never saw a proper, good english translation for it. It's a shame, honestly.

Nowadays, with machine translations, Google Translate has actually notably improved-- and we have the likes of DeepL, too-- but. That doesn't always take into account of context, and other little intricacies when it comes to language and lyrics and such.

And like, I have a cleaned up DeepL translation on the reupload for the song now-- and it IS better than the one I put on it with annotations over a decade ago. But...

It definitely feels like >man. I need someone who actually knows the language and could see things I'm definitely missing to give this song a proper english translation.

(also, I admit, I also sometimes have a hard time grasping even just. how things are said in english sometimes, and what could be better said in english, and such things, so like, that doesn't help)

Anyhow, I do legitimately like the song. The fear of it has obviously passed, and finding out it was an april fools project kind of also has me like >haha. wow. i sure Experienced over what was a joke.
