ok in that longass rescue bots headcanons list i made this one headcanon ive been dying to talk about, which is that i think quickshadow was part of elita one’s squadron on cybertron, and that the group has since been disbanded. my reasoning:

to me, since optimus and ultra magnus are both in tfp, it feels natural to assume elita exists. i dont think she’s dead, although perhaps the war bots think she is, similar to how they thought shockwave was.

also, since shockwave’s backstory is similar to his in g1 i’m doing the same for elita’s. just like in g1, she and her squad of lesbians girlbosses stayed on cybertron to hold down autobot territory, and to fight shocky.

anyway elita's team in g1 seemed to specialize in espionage and close combat, which is what quickshadow does. she would fit right in with the group. as a highly trained warrior and someone who is personally close to optimus, her having a past with elita one and in the war makes sense.

i think quickshadow was definitely a rescue bot first, but presumably as the war took off she allied herself with the autobots. at the rescue academy she trained as a special ops bot, which helped her survive whatever happened to the other rescue bots, and eventually led her to win the favor of autobot high command. this lead to her rapidly climbing the ranks until she served alongside elita one.

at some point in my mind the team was disbanded, either because of lack of resources or they split up to become smaller groups or join other teams. quickshadow became a proper undercover agent, the one we see in the show. by then it's clear optimus trusts her, as he arranged for her vehicle scan, gave her tech to hijack groundbridges, and let her keep her rescue bots insignia. she also was constantly changing names and identities, so she's been undercover a lot. this level of trust hints at a personal history, like her being close to elita.

quickshadow is also a solo agent by the time we meet her, again showing she's highly respected and trusted by optimus, and presumably other members of autobot high command. optimus put a lot of work into keeping the rescue bots secret and safe, but quickshadow has clearly been a part of the war for a very long time, possibly since the beginning. hightide was optimus's friend since the early days, so it could be possible for quickshadow to have known elita or optimus before everything. that would explain the freedom she has that no other character is given.

Some highlights include: picking a random employee and threatening to go after his family unless he kills himself on the spot (he does), punishing an underling’s failures by repeatedly plucking out their hairs until they’re left almost entirely bald, ordering a sentient android to stand guard and then leaving them stuck in place until they rust away, murdering her chauffeur just to prove a point in an argument, slapping her husband silly when he tries to bring her bad news, later gouging his eye out and attempting to murder him, developing experimental weapons for the military industrial complex, testing those weapons on live human subjects, kidnapping and torturing a child (twice, and that’s not even counting the times she failed), and being such a horrible person in general that she drives the one woman she loved to suicide. Despite being almost cartoonishly evil at times, Chacha is also extremely smart and competent, running rings around the protagonists for her entire tenure as a main villain. When her plans fail, it’s usually because of Deus ex machinas or her subordinates being incompetent, and even with these hurdles she eventually DOES get what she wants and achieves all of her wicked goals. Her downfall ultimately comes from the fact that she was SO intent on being the boss that she forgot to account for her own freedom and happiness. Ergo, she’s as toxic with herself as she is with everyone else. Although she’s unquestionably corrupt to her core, she does actually get a happy ending in one of the canon epilogues, because her sheer gay girlboss energy was enough to make the resident pure-hearted healer girl fall head over heels for her. Thus even in defeat, she stays winning.

K so in primary school I was like openly a lesbian and the whole grade of like 10 year olds was well aware of this. I remember one lunch break this guy comes up to me and warns me I better not steal his girl or else there'd be trouble. And you people should know what happens by now when you tell me not to do something so you'll never guess what happens next. His gf breaks up with him and becomes MY gf. for instance, i read something a while ago about a female swan who mated with a male then left the male to raise its offspring wigh another female swan. they stayed together for years, raising the baby swans together, presenting behavior that mated swan couples would with each other throughout their lives. and im also sure you've heard of the gay penguins in that zoo who started showing mating behaviour to each other, and attempted to raise a rock (which they thought was an egg) together in the enclosure. but this doesnt just occur in zoo enclosures. it happens out in the wild too.

clown fish are known to change their sex from male to female or vice versa depending on the population of either where they are, and what is needed to continue their species. theres a butterfly (i forget the name) that has one half of its body being male and the other half being female. if i remember correctly, there are many wild cat species where the female won't mate until it is certain that the male is most suitable and to its liking, and theres even a snake that wont let a male mate with it until it beats her in a fight (girlboss behaviour)

all this just goes to show that being lgbt is nothing abnormal or unnatural. it has always been and will always continue to be, even outside out species. animals experience it without needing to have the words to explain or understand it. it is a natural occurance for at least 30% of the animal population experiences it in their lifetime, some excluaively.
