Okay, so, full disclosure I have only seen Top Gun 2 (I know it’s not called Top Gun 2; I apologize) BUT I wanted to say that I absolutely LOVE the different ways Tom Cruise’s characters approach Things That Can Fly.

Like, in Top Gun, Maverick (?) is, obviously, a Maverick, and very skilled at what he does, the hallmark of a genius is when they can teach it, etc. etc. Like the man sees the thing go up and just vi br a t es with the thought of Go Up!!!! I love that for him, but he also knows exactly what every button is and why he can do certain things that he does. Pretty sure you have to have some sort of masters or PhD in Air Flying Vehicles or something equally smart.

Now, with this knowledge, watching Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible is so funny. This man has a PhD in hanging off airplanes. He stepped foot (metaphorically) into a helicopter and was only able to figure anything out because it was labeled. The entire time!! he was flying!! it was screaming at him!! and he decided to keep going through pure willpower!! It was ON FIRE!!!

Like, circumstances aside, Maverick is a Certified Pilot (tm) while Ethan Hunt is a Certified Mess (tm).

Solidarity was technically supposed to die before he killed Scott in session 7.

Which took off an hour.

And at the start of session 8 Scott talks about how he missed adding four kills to his timer.

Two whole hours.

Which he added back at the start of that session, putting him at 07:28:27.

So if Jimmy hadn’t survived longer than technically possible, he wouldn’t have killed Scott, and in turn Scott would have an extra hour!

Hop has been walking around the competition, looking for his brother. He and the Twin-Sync twins had gone separated ways for a bit, agreeing to meeting again soon. Now he hoped to find Null, since he had seen his name on the competitors list.

Then he saw the preteens and kids walking around, clearly lost. While some looked old enough to take care of themselves, some seemed to be quite young. Maybe he could help them? They also reminded him of his brothers... Which wasn't a surprise, considering where he was. A bittersweet side of the competitions and all the dimension slash timeline hopping.

As he approached, he tilted his head, "Hey, can I help you guys? You seem lost..." Then he snickers to himself, "...kinda ironic though, I mostly end up being lost too wherever I go."

He offers them a smile, "I am Hop, by the way."

#twentyfiiiiiveeee #spn #spnart #spn art #trueforms #mine.caro #spn fanart #ok so cas in this one isn't that special. he's pretty much like he was in 4x16 with some extra things so not that different from #the first ever trueform i made!! wow!! throwback monday! the differences are that the Red Right Hand 2: Gay Boogaloo is there #and there's a line like the ones in the fallen angel designs running through the trueform to parallel lucifer's fall like in the ep itself #and i tried out a new color i got recently in the wheels that is SO pretty. it's turquoise but sooo shiny. like the gold and silver paints #the red in the hand isn't as neatly edited as i'd hope for bc i'm still using photopea and it's so laggy #but anyways. cas wasn't the focus here bc he's pretty much 4x16+ftbym. the focus was lucifer bc i chose this moment #to be the one lucifer trueform i'm gonna make bc let's face it #the main things don't change much throughout time. and he had to be different from every other angel #so i thought. what's a deviation from geometric AFS that isn't flowy non-geometric and is clear and noticeable and gritty and grim #and i thought it could be the black and white not being separate at all anymore. a whirlwind of distortion from isolation and torment etc #so i did a basic trueform with a felt tip pen (a new eye design with some spirals sprouting from it and some upside down wings) #and then i smudged it all with rubbing alcohol on a toothbrush. you can still see the pattern underneath all this as the basis #then i did some fuckery with black and white acrylics and a really rough paintbrush. and then i got some crimson red and some silver #i dunked a metal chain in it and i smacked the paper with the chain. the idea was for that to be the vestiges of the angel wheels #crumbled and torn and broken. red and silver. smudged. uglee #and there's the Wanting hands coming from that whole mess. all reaching upwards whereas when cas has them they're reaching everywhere #oh and i added some white paint with a really tiny paintbrush too. and i think that's it #i'll add these to the stores later and i still haven't added zachariah bc i haven't managed to edit the scans with the right specs #but soon #this lucifer has some pollock vibes but it was honestly accidental it just built up as i added more layers
