Being Mark Sloan's Little Sister and Having Lexie Grey Crushing On You Would Include...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Requested by anon
Before starting at Seattle Grace, you sat down with your brother and asked him what working there is like
You force him to be nicer to the interns
Lexie had a huge crush on you, but decided not to say anything because you were Mark's sister
She would pretty much run away as soon as she saw you
Asking Mark about how Lexie's behaving, only to have him smirk and tell you to figure it out yourself
Lexie will find out what your favorite food is and drop it by your locker
If you have a longer shift, she'll help figure out how to make you feel better
When you ask your coworkers who's leaving things at your locker, they'll snicker
Starting to date after you finally figure out she's the one leaving food for you
After pretty much everyone found out you were together, Mark will always whistle when he sees you

———
Throughout Lexie’s intern year, Mark and Lexie have been dancing around their romantic feelings to each other.
… Or so everyone thought.
Derek and Meredith got so fed up in the two that they decided that they would take matters into their own hands.
“Why don’t you just ask her out?”
Mark looks up from his tablet at the nurse’s station. “What?”
“You give her all these looks and won’t even ask her out.”
“She doesn’t feel the same way.”
“I call bullshit. She gives you the same looks.”
“Really?” Mark looks at him, intrigued.
“Yes, so ask her out sometime soon.”
After a few seconds of thinking, “Help me plan the perfect date.”
———
At the cafeteria, Meredith sees Lexie sitting at a table on her own eating her lunch. She observes her sister for a bit, seeing her smiling very big at her phone, making her wonder what was it that is making her so happy. She swiftly walks to her sister and sits down on the unoccupied chair.
“Uh, hi?” Lexie confusedly looks at Meredith.
“When are you gonna stop ignoring your feelings from Mark?”
After hearing those worlds, Lexie chokes on whatever she was drinking. Caught completely off guard to what her sister just said.
“I do not have feelings for Mark! What made you think that?”
“Oh, yeah? Come on! You give each other these looks that screams that you want to drag each other in an on call room.”
Wide-eyed, Lexie couldn’t even think of what to say.
“Look. I don’t know how to came to that conclusion, but I can assure you I don’t have these feelings that you’re saying I have. I’ve never even thought about him that way.”
“Not even a little bit?”
“Nope!”
“Well, why not? Mark is totally in love with you.”
“Until he says that, I won’t believe him. But if he did I would reject his advances because that would make me unfaithful.”
With that, Lexie walks away.
“Unfaithful?” Meredith asks herself.
———
It’s now a few days after. The workday was done for Lexie. She was ready to just go home and sleep the night away until she has to come back to work, don’t knowing of a surprise coming her way. Or multiple surprises.
As she’s walking out to the exit of the hospital, she hears quick footsteps behind her.
“Hey, Lexi.”
“Hi, Mark. What’s up?”
“Uh, well, I was just wondering if you have some time after work tomorrow? For some dinner.”
“Like a date?”
“Yes.” He replied confidently.
Not far away, Meredith and Derek are watching the interaction.
“She’s definitely going to say yes.” Derek stated with a smile.
Meredith looks at him sheepishly. “IforgottotellyouthatwhenItalkedtoLexieshesaidthatshewouldturnMarkdownbecauseshedoesn’tseehimanywayromanticatall.” She said very quickly all in one breath.
“Say that agin, but slower.”
“I forgot to tell you that when I talked to Lexie she said that she would turn Mark down because she doesn’t see him any way romantic at all.”
“What?! Why didn’t you tell me.”
“I don’t know! I didn’t believe her, but I should’ve believed her cause she said something about feeling the same way would make her unfaithful.”
“So, she’s in a relationship?”
“I think so.”
“So, Marks gonna get his heart broken?”
“Probably.”
Back with Mark and Lexie, Lexie is speechless while Mark looks hopeful.
“Look, Mark.” She pauses, trying to find the right words. “I am flattered, but I don’t feel anything romantic towards you.”
“What? But Derek said that we look each other the same.”
“Well he was probably seeing things cause I don’t look at you any other way but friendly.”
“Can’t you just give me a chance. Just one date and after you can tell me to stop if you still don’t feel the same.”
“I can’t. Besides…” Lexie looks away, which happens to be over by the door. At that moment she sees someone walk in holding a bouquet of flowers, wearing an army uniform, taking the beret off their head. Lexi becomes wide-eyed, not believing who she’s seeing.
At the same time, the person looks up, meeting Lexie’s eyes. Her eyes light up, holding up the bouquet of flowers. Lexie completely forgets about Mark and runs past him, jumping into the arms of this woman.
“Oh my god! How are you here? I thought I wouldn’t see you until next week?” She said into his neck, arms clinging onto her.
“I lied.” She said, chuckling into her hair. “Wanted to surprise you.”
Meredith and Derek took this time to walk up to Mark who had a confused and hurt expression on her face as Lexie pushed past him, essentially forgetting about their conversation.
“What just happened?” Meredith was the one to break the silence.
“I have no clue.”
“I asked her to give me a chance at on date to see if her mind changes, but she said no.”
“That’s probably the person she’s in a relationship with then.”
“She’s in a relationship and you didn’t tell me?” Mark asked Derek, hurt.
“I didn’t know until a couple minutes ago. Meredith knew, but didn’t believe her.”
“Even if she’s in a relationship, I usually still get the girl.” Derek looks at him with a face that says ‘really.’ “Right… sorry.”
A few more moments of watching the two embrace, Mark clears his throat cause the two to break apart and look at the others.
“Oh, yeah. Come here.” Lexie says, grabbing the woman’s hand, pulling her towards the group. “These are my friends Mark, Derek, and Meredith.”
“Meredith, your sister?”
“That’s the one.”
“Well it’s nice to meet you all.”
“How do you know Lexie?” Marks straightforwardly asks.
“Uh, well we met in high school actually. Sophomore year, specifically.”
“So, been friends ever since.”
“Best friends. She’s actually my ex-girlfriend.”
“You guys dated?” Mark asks, at the same time Lexie says, “You need to stop calling me your ex-girlfriend.”
You look at her with a smirk. “It’s true though.”
“I’m confused.” Derek speaks up.
“She always introduces or calls me her ex-girlfriend whenever we meet new people.”
“I’m still confused.”
“We’re married, but she technically is my ex-girlfriend because now she’s my wife. And that makes us in-laws.” You clarify, looking towards Derek and Meredith.
As the in-laws converse, Mark is stuck in his own head, reeling back to all the times Lexie could’ve reciprocated his same feelings, but now that he really thought about it, she never showed any signs of it.
“Well, we should go. I’m exhausted and I’m sure this one is too.” Lexie said, the whole day of work finally getting to her. “And Mark. I hope you find someone that is right for you.” With that, she grabs your hand and intertwines it with yours, pulling you to her car.
You both walk away, oblivious to the three staring at your retreating figures.
“We all didn’t read the situation correctly, I guess.” Meredith speaks up, still staring at her sister and husband.
“Don’t worry Mark, you’ll find someone.” Derek pats Mark on the shoulder. They both leave him, walking away, holding onto each other.
Mark is still staring at the both of you, seeing you pick Lexie up bridal style, her arms wrapped around your neck, pulling you into a kiss, smiling at each other as you pull away.
Still wishing that Lexie was his to love, Mark is content that she’s happy and loved, even it it’s not with him.

𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜: Lexie Grey x f!reader ♡
𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙮: What if between two besties there could be more? Maybe it's weird, but when you fall in love anything doesn't matter anymore.
𝘼/𝙣: Ikk haven't been here for ages! But now I'm back with a fic for my favv <3
Tumblr media
Lexie Grey, beautiful, so sweet, such a good heart, she was an amazing girl, how couldn't you fall for her? It took a very little time, when you met her you already know that one day that girl would have been your girlfriend. Well, hopefully.
Everything she did did nothing but surprise you, there were no flaws with her. You were also close friends, you were always there for each other. She was a messy, but you loved that girl.
Lately, however, something had changed between you. When you met you no longer had long conversations, everything was different. And what worried you was whether things were changing for the better or for the worse. Now you talked more about patient cases. Neither about her daily crisis. Damn, you missed this too, often when she talked you just looked at her and get lost. She made you feel in an indescribable way, almost like when they say the butterflies on your stomach.
All you needed right now was just eating something, it had been a long morning and you didn't ate anything. You went to the hospital canteen with your friends, taking your time and thinking about all the little things that came in your mind.
"Where's Lexie, I haven't seen her today?" Meredith asked referring to you since you were always together. "Y/n?" She repeated as you haven't heard.
"Hm?" you came back to yourself.
"I just asked about Lexie, do you know where she is?" She asked again. You sighed.
"I honestly don't know..." you simply replied. She nodded, a little confused too. You looked around when you finally saw her arriving. Lexie.
"I'm gonna back working, see you later" you quickly greeted them, trying to follow her. You just wanted to clearing things.
You didn't want to seem suspicious but you were acting almost like a stalker right now. You arrived to the locker rooms, but apparently it was too late since she was already went away.
You tried to wander through the patient rooms when you saw her heading towards the nurses station. You walked towards her.
"Lexie" you called her.
"Oh, hey" she smiled. "Since you're here could you call Dr. Shepherd, my patient needs a neurological consultation" she asked focusing at her stuff.
I raise my eyebrows. "Really?" I ask crossing my arms. "Lexie, can I please know what's going on?"
"I'm, umh, I'm just doing my job" she said like nothing looked normal.
"Come on, you exactly know what I'm talking about" he places his things on the table and says nothing else. "So?" She just kept looking at you, then walked away.
You followed her, pretty confused. "Lexie!" She stopped when you called her.
She turned towards you, approaching, and grabbing you for kissing you on your lips. You were just so surprised, but damn, that was so good.
"Alexandra Grey" you whispered when the kiss ended.
"I'm sorry" she said as you still were very close. You laughed softly.
"For what?"
"I just didn't know how to- well you're my best friend, my person, and I-"
"I love you Lexie" you said cutting her off. She smiled softly, that smile you loved so much that you would have done anything to see it. "I thought the same, but I do, I want you to be more of a friend to me" you said with your hands on her cheeks.
"I'd love it" she said kissing you softly again.
Yeah, everything about your relationship changed, but that was in better.

Secret Relationship w/Lexie Grey
Tumblr media
You transfer into Seattle Grace from New York, they’d needed a new OBGYN/Neonatal attending since Addison left, and once Richard finally came to terms with Addi not coming back, he opened up the position and practically hired you the instant your application came across his desk
You kept relatively to yourself at the beginning, even coming from a different city, you knew the drama at Seattle Grace was unparalleled, you ducked your head and did your job. Though there was one first year resident who caught your eye more than you probably should have let, maybe there really was something in the water after all?
Lexie was blown away by how incredibly skilled you were, and how you weren’t afraid to take risks on surgeries or procedures she’d never even heard of before. Despite you being professional and there to do your job, you took a shining to each other. At first it was just friends, a drink here or there at Joe’s after a long day.
Then there was the night there was probably one too many cocktails, you ended up buried in each other’s arms, exploring each other’s bodies in ways you’d never imagined before. You were lucky you were paged in extremely early that morning, able to duck out of the house full of residents/interns before any of the rest of them were up. The last thing either of you wanted was having to sneak you out the back door so Meredith didn’t see you
After that first night you couldn’t keep away from each other, found each other in spare moments whenever you could, you sought each other out when you lost patients, eager to simply be held by the other person while you grieved, or struggled through a day. You knew it wasn’t ideal to date a resident, but at this point (and at this hospital), who really cared anymore?
Your first major fight was over Lexie attempting to sneak you out of the house before the crack of dawn. You grumbled heavily, having spent half the night in the OR already, you were in no shape to want to get up or deal with the argument in that moment. You argued that you felt like a teenager all over again, that Mer shouldn’t care what Lexie was doing, everyone was a full fledged adult. Besides, out of all people shouldn’t Mer care the least about an attending dating someone who they had seniority over?
You ended up sauntering out of the house much later than Lexie had wanted that morning, though she stayed upstairs in her room, you ducked into the kitchen for coffee, running right into Meredith. She cocked a brow, saying straight up that she thought you were better than Alex. You cackled a laugh and lied, saying you’d been helping Lexie go over a few trickier procedures and too much wine led to you passing out without realizing it.
You manage to keep your secret a few weeks longer, until you give Lexie an ultimatum, saying that you’re putting in disclosure papers to the chief, the security of your job was too important to risk it, you cared about her a lot and didn’t want to jeapordize either of your futures because you were sneaking around. You asked if she was okay with that, and as much as she was worried, she was more than ecstatic that you felt that strongly about her.
The paperwork didn’t really matter, it’s not like the chief was about to go around gossiping, but it was the nudge Lexie needed to not be so worried about what her sister would think. You were invited over for dinner along with a couple of the other doctors from the hospital, and during the night, it was let out. Meredith came across a little hesitant, but wasn’t too worried, you were a much better match for her than Mark was after all, and as long as Lexie was happy, safe, and loved, that’s all that she really cared about.

Where We Might End Up - Lexie Grey x OC fanfic    Chapter 9: The McHell Week: The Blue Corner
Tumblr media
Three days had passed since the merger between Seattle Grace and Mercy West. The only people thrilled with the merger were Richard, Callie, and the Mercy West hospital staff. Seattle Grace personnel, specifically its surgical residents, felt threatened. Looking at the orange scrubs-wearing residents, they came up with a plan. - To take all the surgeries from them as they can.
On her first day, Callie felt ecstatic. Working back at Seattle Grace meant being close to both her girlfriend and her best friend. As the days went on, Callie had understood why Derek dreaded the merger. Before, she assumed he was just overreacting. -The fact that the merger was Richard's idea. Callie, then, had been pissed at Derek. Callie had considered the merger a blessing, but after working for three days with these maniacal surgical residents competing for surgeries, the blessing was quickly turning into a curse. The ecstasy she felt was now coming down.
Morning Hospital Lobby
Alex and Charles were scheduled on Callie's service. The two residents quarreled about who's going to hold the charts. - A typical day now when the residents fight over for just holding the charts. Callie narrowed her eyes, staring blankly away from the two residents arguing in front of her. She rolled her eyes as she turned towards the counter, reaching for the charts. As their voices grew louder, Callie got more annoyed. She gave charts on both residents, slamming it on their hands. Callie gave them a challenge – whoever determined the better diagnosis gets to be in the surgery with her. If no one got it right, she'll do the surgery alone.
Callie narrowed her eyes in frustration as she walked with them through the lobby. Maybe she should not have started that little competition. It was still morning, but Callie's energy for the day was already at a dangerous limit. The residents got more winded. And it's more annoying, more frustrating, and more exhausting. Callie sighed heavily, trying to walk faster now, keeping the two residents away from her. At least now, she's not hearing those two argue for the nth time.
Eric went inside the hospital, carrying his overnight bag. Two days before the merger, he went to LA for a consult - a personal request from Addison Montgomery. Eric would have been back at Seattle during the merger, but he stayed a couple of days more. His phone rang on his last day - a phone call from Derek Shepherd, asking him when he'll be back.
Eric stopped as he saw Callie walked past the lobby floor with Alex and someone wearing an orange scrub.
Callie turned towards Eric. It was a while before she realized that it's Eric, beaming at her. As she recognized her friend, her narrowed eyes relaxed and widened. Her grouchy face went calm. Callie grinned widely, copying him.
Callie ran towards Eric, leaving behind the two residents.
"Welcome back!" Callie greeted as she stood in front of him.
"What did I miss?" He adjusted his bag on his shoulder, glancing at the orange absurdness behind Callie.
Callie followed his stare leading to the two residents. She groaned, "Uh... Merger? Ring any bell?" Callie looked back at Eric. Her mouth slacked and eyes widened. Eric tilted his head and pursed his lips, trying to remember, "What?! Are you kidding me?"
He smiled tentatively and grew as the answer sank in, "Fuckin' hell! Yes," He laughed and stifled it, noticing Callie's reaction, "I don't - sorry. Just -" Eric stared at Callie as she frowned, crossing her arms. "I need to go change. Derek's been ringing me nuts since LA... thinking I might abandon him for Addison." He chuckled, "You're busy. I'll leave you to it, then."
Callie yanked him back as he walked away, "Don't leave me with these fools," She turned around and pointed at the two residents, "You two, go find something to do at the pit!" She yelled. She faced Eric, plucking the bag off his hand.
"But you said we're..." Charles yelled back. Callie cut him off.
"Leave those charts at the nurses' station," She stressed, pulling Eric beside her and holding his arm as they walk together. Eric chuckled as he walked with Callie.
Attendings' Lounge
"Look who's back," Callie singsonged as they went inside the lounge. Derek looked at the door as they made in. Callie moved towards the couch and relaxed.
"How's LA?" Derek inquired, glancing behind as he poured the coffee in his mug.
Eric stared at Derek as he responded, "Un–ee-ventful," Eric turned away and moved towards his locker.
"Hmmm," Derek paused. "not what I heard..." Derek continued with a smirk.
Eric darted at him and asked, "Addie told on you?" He put his bag inside the locker.
"No. Sam Bennett told me," Derek answered, staring at Callie. Callie resolved to remain silent and to keep her regular teasing at a minimum towards Eric. He just came back from LA. Callie won't tease him - not yet. Derek smiled at the sight.
"Damn it! Sam," Eric murmured.
Derek stepped closer to Callie to ask why she's being quiet, "Hmmm," He uttered as he waited for her to say anything, but Callie sat quietly at the couch, massaging her temple.
"Don't." She warned, raising her index finger in front of him, "I'm having my peace and quiet here, Derek," Callie continued, leaning back in a more comfortable position, resting her head on the sofa and closing her eyes.. Derek held his hands up in surrender as he stepped backward.
Eric asked, facing his locker, "Where are the charts?"
"Lexie has them," Derek answered, staring at Callie. He looked at Eric and went on, "She has them. I asked her to assist you so... you know."
Eric narrowed his eyes and shook his head as he replied, "No, I don't know," Eric paused arching an eyebrow as he pondered. Eric's mouth fell open as he realized what Derek meant, "Unbelievable." Eric turned back and looked at Derek as he walked out of the lounge, "I-I am nice," He added as he followed Derek. "I have been nice!" Eric exclaimed, leaning on the doorway and craning his neck as Derek walked along the hall. Eric paused and breathed in. He went back inside the lounge and looked at Callie smiling at him, amused, "No one really noticed?"
Callie snorted, "I'll believe it when I see it," She spoke. Callie stood up and poured herself coffee from the coffeemaker. She can feel Eric's stare. Callie glanced behind her, seeing him narrowing his eyes at her, "W-what?!"
"Doesn't take you long, huh?" Eric added as he walked inside the shower room to change.
Callie chortled as she faced the counter.
- - - - -
Lexie stepped in front the attending's lounge, carrying the charts for Derek's patients - Now, Eric's patients. Lexie saw Derek on the way, informing her that Eric was inside the lounge. She didn't know what to do - if she'll wait for him outside or go in. She fidgeted in front of the door before deciding to open it. This was the first time she went inside the lounge. So she slowly walked in, feeling like she was barging into someone else's room. She hoped that there were no attendings inside - except for the one she's looking for, of course. She went in and saw Callie.
Callie stared at Lexie as she looked around, searching for the neurosurgeon, "Hey Lexie," Callie said.
"Hi... uhm... Have you seen..." Callie pointed at the shower room, "Oh - okay. I'll..." Lexie staggered to go in further. She was nervous. This will be the first time she'll work with Eric after George's funeral. She was avoiding him then - after Eric drove her home. After that, her father got hospitalized and Eric left for LA. There were no chances of them interacting or working together, not until Derek asked Eric to cover for him. Timely, she was scheduled on Neuro.
Lexie stood at the door, thinking about what she would tell him.
"Dr. Shepherd asked me to work with you... We've been working for this patient for..." She whispered to herself, "No. I... I'm not avoiding you, I'm just too busy..." She chuckled, "... no I... I'm not saying that..."
Callie looked at her as she noticed Lexie talking to herself. Lexie stopped as she saw Callie looking at her. Callie went back to face the counter, furrowing her eyebrows in confusion.
"Coffee?" Callie offered.
Lexie looked up at Callie, "No. Thank you," She smiled.
Eric went out of the shower room and walked towards his locker to put his clothes in. He didn't notice Lexie standing at the door. Lexie stood straight, clenching at the charts as she anticipated his reaction. Callie cleared her throat, trying to get his attention.
"Honestly, you two..." Eric paused as he neatly put on his white coat, fastening in his pens and pager.
Callie cleared her throat louder, gritting her teeth. She stopped as Lexie looked at her. Callie stepped forward awkwardly, acting like she was supposed to move closer to Eric. Callie tried again to get his attention, now quietly exclaiming, "Eric!"
Eric put his phone inside his pocket as he turned around, "'believe it when I see it' my arse..." He stopped and noticed Lexie, "Dr. Grey," Eric glared at Callie. Callie sighed in defeat.
"Not my fault, dumbass," Callie muttered as she went back at the counter, picking up her mug and taking a sip of the coffee.
Lexie breathed in, as she saw Eric. Taking quite a long time before she breathed out, Her shoulders tensed. "Hi..." She exhaled as she spoke. She paused and turned her head towards her shoulder. She shook her head in embarrassment.
Eric glanced at Callie and back at Lexie. "Are those the charts?" He paused, "Okay," He then smiled at Lexie. He turned around to get his stethoscope.
Callie turned just in time to see Eric smiling, making her almost spit the coffee in her mouth. While Lexie blinked her eyes repeatedly, and furrowed her eyebrows. Callie and Lexie glanced at each other, before looking back at the neurosurgeon.
"Let's go?" He continued.
Lexie shook her head as she walked out. Lexie can't believe what she just witnessed. She's too confused about what's happening that she forgot about her little speech she prepared.
Eric glanced at Callie as she whispered, "You look weird," Eric narrowed his eyes at her as he followed Lexie.
Three days later
Lexie and Eric had been working together for two days, as per Derek's directive. - This would be the last day. Lexie thought that it would be difficult, knowing Eric and his ways of making her suffer, but as she spent an hour, a couple, then a day, two days; She realized that Eric Keaton - the bully who would always look down at her and punish her, was being kind to her and teaching her. Sure he's still sarcastic, arrogant, and direct like he was, but something was different now. - Apart from him smiling. She couldn't tell what, but she wondered if Eric would stay being nice to her now, or is he just planning something, she just didn't know it yet.
Hospital Cafeteria
Alex went towards the table where Cristina, Izzie and Lexie were. He slammed the tray as he sat beside Izzie.
"Bigfoot's at it again. He's hounding my surgery with Dr. Sloan," Alex said.
"Dr. Bailey put me in the clinic. Well, figures," Izzie said as she looked at her fork full of salad. She took a bite and looked in front of her. She got a glimpse of Lexie, staring out. Izzie paused and pointed her now empty fork at her before adding, "So..." She glanced at her plate, then back at Lexie, "How's working with Keaton? You seemed... quiet. Are you okay? Is he being immature or arrogant or whatnot?" Izzie went on, "Well, you can't complain, right? Among the people at this table, you're the only one who've seen the inside of the OR this week."
Cristina glared at Lexie and stated, "Lucky!" Cristina paused, "God, I should've pushed working with McDevil again."
Izzie glanced at Lexie as she remained gawking. Her attention was off elsewhere. Izzie glanced at Cristina. Cristina slowly chewed her food as she noticed Izzie gesturing her head at Lexie. "What?" Cristina mouthed. Izzie widened her eyes and gestured again. Cristina looked at Lexie beside her, eyebrow arched.
"Earth to Little Grey? Hello?" Cristina waved her hands in front of Lexie's face.
"Uhm, yes?" Lexie shook her head, glancing at Cristina, "Yes. Yes." Then she looked away.
Alex had been following their discussion as he ate his lunch, that when Lexie finally answered incoherently, he stopped eating. - He knew something's up. He looked up, curling his eyebrows as he, Izzie and Cristina followed Lexie's stare, leading them to towards Eric.
Alex glanced back at the second-year resident biting her lower lip and looking pensive, "She's being tortured, all right." Alex added.
"No. I'm not." Lexie finally spoke a clear thought. "He's..."
"... mean?" Alex went on.
"... arrogant?" Cristina stressed.
"... an ass?" Izzie implied.
Lexie had been commenting regularly about her terrible impression towards the neurosurgeon since the first day, that they already memorized it.
"... smiling... like actually smiling... at me," Lexie corrected.
The three looked at Lexie, not believing what she claimed. The first few months when Eric was the shiny new object Richard brought at the hospital to do an innovative surgery, they sought him like a god. But then, when he worked at Seattle Grace, their perception towards him changed. Izzie realized Eric was just like Mark Sloan when he's treating them- the interns then- as an object. But, unlike Mark, he's teaching - in his own way. Alex had experienced Eric's way of teaching. Cristina simply cared for the once in a lifetime surgeries Eric's name were bringing at the hospital.
As for Lexie's experience with McDevil - the nickname they finally used after George's death, when they endured his Hell month. Izzie was confused why among the interns, Lexie had been the only intern who had endured most of his bad characteristics. Izzie assumed then that Eric had been doing it on purpose. She planned on knowing why.
Cristina snorted a laugh, "McDevil doesn't know how to smile," Cristina peered at Alex as she added, "You should be his resident."
Alex glared at Cristina, "Yeah, why is that?"
Izzie faked a cough and said, "Evil spawn."
"He called me an imbecile for repeating his question," Alex said, "I didn't hear him because your intern had been yapping with his girlfriend behind me, and I get to be called an imbecile. Steve's the imbecile, not me." He added, leaning towards Cristina.
Cristina pondered for a minute then retorted, "Well. I kinda agree with him - you being an imbecile, I mean...," Cristina cackled with laughter as Alex made faces at her. Alex leaned back to his seat.
"Maybe you should be on his service, since you kinda agree with him," Alex countered.
Izzie uttered, "She already did. And Keaton kicked her out of his service not the other way around."
"Oh, right. I heard about that. Look at you, not even the devil can stand you," Alex blurted.
"I'm a badass," Cristina added, pointing her two index finger at herself.
"Yeah. a badass orderly," Alex mocked Cristina.
"Nurse," Cristina mocked back.
"I guess you're the only one who can stand him?" Izzie said to Lexie, "apart from Meredith... and George..." She looked at Lexie and asked, "He's friends with George, right? It must be torture."
Lexie sat straight, "Well, it won't be long now 'til the devil tortures me again," She spoke louder looking away, crossing her arms.
"What? Who?" April asked as she passed by, holding takeaway food. She thought Lexie was talking to her.
"You should eat. We only have a few minutes here," Jackson told April. Jackson pulled her away from the Seattle Grace residents.
"Yeah right, walk away, Mercy Westers," Cristina blurted, gesturing him to move away. Jackson and April went out of the cafeteria. Cristina watched them hurried out, "I think we should hurry up, too," Cristina added, keeping her eyes on the Mercy West group.
- - - - -
Eric saw Cristina's group as they sat at the table. He had been glancing at the group as he felt unusually conscious. - Not realizing that Lexie had been staring at him for a while. Arizona noticed him tuning out and in to their conversation.
"What? what? Where are you? Hello?" Arizona called on Eric.
"I'm just..." Eric halted, shaking his head, "Nothing," He continued to eat apple slices.
Arizona traced his stare. She looked behind her and noticed Lexie a few tables behind them. Arizona smiled cheekily at Eric, raising her eyebrows playfully.
"What?!" Eric asked, "You're weird... stop it."
"You checking at little Grey, huh?"
"It's not what you think?" Eric looked back at his food.
"Uhmm-Hmmm, I heard you're being nice?" Arizona leaned closer at Eric with a playful smirk.
"It's not what you think," Eric repeated. He stood up and picked up his tray, placing it by the bins. Eric headed towards the exit.
- - - - -
"You're staring. Stop staring!" Cristina exclaimed at Lexie, "...Kinda creepy," She added.
"I'm not staring!" Lexie replied, facing Cristina, "I'm just... Oop! He's standing up," Lexie faced away, "Just act normal." She hissed.
Izzie shook her head as she continued to eat. Cristina looked at Lexie with an arched brow, "That's normal?" Cristina uttered. Lexie continued stuffing her face with food.
Alex glanced at Lexie and then looked at Eric. He had a mischievous look on his face as he took a sip from his drink and stood up, "Dr. Keaton!"
Lexie watched Alex as he stood up. She realized Alex was up to something, "No- no!" Lexie quietly exclaimed and reached for Alex, straining her hand to pull Alex back at their table. Izzie chuckled at how silly Lexie looked.
Cristina blurted out as she ate her fries, "This is gonna be good." Watching Lexie and Alex. Izzie agreed and nodded in anticipation.
Eric looked at Alex as he called him.
Alex continued calling Eric until Eric noticed him. Alex stood with his hands inside his coat pocket. Lexie kept reaching, pulling at his coat. Alex pulled his coat off Lexie's grasp. Lexie lost her grip, and she awkwardly fell from her seat to the floor.
Eric hesitated at first before he walked towards Alex. He peeked back at Arizona, who was not looking before he walked towards the group.
Lexie hastily rose up as she saw a pair of legs under the table. She recognized those argyle socks anywhere. She crashed back on the chair and immediately stuffed herself with her lunch, looking away. Her coat was rumpled. She struggled to fixed her coat and unkept hair as Eric settled in front of Alex. Lexie acted like she was not just on the floor sprawled. She continued gobbling food.
Alex panicked as he didn't think about what to do once he got Eric's attention. He just needed him to walk closer to tease Lexie. He never realized that the attending would really walk towards them. Now, Eric's standing in front of him, hands crossed over his chest, awaiting his question, "so the - uhm - procedure you're gonna do later with Dr. Sloan would be..." Alex continued to outline the procedure, stammering.
Eric raised an eyebrow and grimaced as he listened to Alex. Eric glanced at the group. He peeked at Cristina who looked at him and Alex while her head remained lowered towards her plate. He then looked at Izzie who was suppressing a laugh. As Izzie saw Eric looking at her, she greeted Eric with a smile.
"... I-I just really find the procedure very - uhm, excellent," Alex scratched his head, cringing at his choice of word. - Excellent? His sweat started to bead on his temple. Alex was nervous. - imbecile. Eric faced Alex as he finished his statement.
"Dr. Karev," Eric interrupted him, "If you have the time to kiss ass, you have the time to check the patient," He implied.
"No - I'm just saying..." Alex tried to explain. Eric gestured at the exit. Alex growled, stepping out of the cafeteria. His plan backfired.
Eric looked back at the table and spotted Lexie stuffing her face with food, "Dr. Grey?"
"Mmmm.. Mmmm," Lexie grumbled without looking. She thought she could express a hello towards the attending, but nothing came out but mumble.
"O-kay," He uttered, shaking his head as he looked away. Eric looked at both Cristina and Izzie and smiled at them, "Doctors." Cristina stared at him and watched as he stepped away. Her mouth gaping as she couldn't believe the sarcastic devil smiled towards them.
Lexie sighed and sat more comfortably on her chair. Cristina chuckled right after he turned around and left the cafeteria.
Izzie slapped Cristina on her arm, "What?" She blurted, brushing her arm where Izzie whacked her. She chuckled as she asked Lexie, facing her, "Lexie Grey, what did you do to him?"
The Next Day - Morning Surgical Wing
Callie and Arizona walked along the halls of the surgical wing. Arizona checked her phone as they walked.
"How's... Eric and... his resident ?" Callie asked.
"I heard they're getting along well," Arizona responded as she scanned her phone, smiling.
Not the response Callie thought she would hear. Callie's shoes screeched as she tripped with her foot, staring at Arizona with disbelief, "Really?" She chuckled, "...I mean..." She laughed, " Really?! "
Arizona peered at Callie, still holding her phone. Arizona looked back at her phone as Callie continued walking beside her, putting her hands inside her coat pockets.
Callie pondered as she asked, "He really is being nice, huh?"
"And he's in a great mood all week," Arizona added.
Callie's eyebrows propped up as she had a thought. She stopped.
Arizona noticed her. Arizona stopped walking, turned to look at Callie and asked, "What?"
"Do you think he and Grey...?" Callie trailed.
Arizona tilted her head to the side as she pondered, "Well..." She chuckled anxiously.
Callie's eyes widened with curiosity as her girlfriend stammered, "What... what?!" Callie paused as Arizona walked away from her. Callie followed her, "Oh no no no... You know something... just say it...come on!"
"I don't okay," Arizona walked faster, "Not officially..." Arizona uttered. Callie heard it and stopped Arizona, pulling her by the arm. She groaned as she faced Callie, "It's just a thought really... I've known him and..."
"And what?" Callie asked.
Arizona looked away, trying to find words to tell Callie her hunch without her jumping to conclusions that may or may not be true. Arizona stared away and then noticed Mark walking out of the supply room.
"Is that?..." Arizona paused and was about to call Mark but Callie stopped her.
"What," Callie said, turning towards where Arizona's looking at. She saw Mark walking away, "Oh, it's just Mark..." looking back at Arizona, " Come on! We have more pressing matters than Mark's flavor of the month."
"20 says the nurse at the pit," Arizona claimed.
Callie shook her head as she turned back to Arizona, "Are we betting on this now?" She chuckled.
"O-kay," Callie shook her head as she continued, "the resident from Mercy West...one with short hair... okay? happy" Arizona beamed at her.
The both of them waited for the girl to come out of the supply room. "oh wait," Callie uttered as the door clicked open. Both of them looked at the door, breath hitched and shoulders were tense. Their tensed shoulders went limp as they saw they're both wrong - Lexie Grey went out of the supply room, looking on both sides as she walked out and closed the door.
"Well..." Callie uttered.
"When did that happen?" Arizona blurted out.
"Well... there goes our 'more pressing matters'," Callie said, looking at her girlfriend as Arizona continued to stare away.
Residents' Lounge
The chief resident posted the rotation schedule for that day. Each resident coming in looked at the board for their schedules. April Kepner walked towards the bulletin as she scanned the schedule, leaning in as she checked on her friends' schedule as well; mouthing the words as she read.
Jackson walked inside the lounge. April noticed him.
"Hey! you're in Neuro!" April said to Jackson as he stepped beside her and looked at the board as well.
"Hmmm. Not just me..." Jackson uttered as he walked away from the board and towards his locker. April furrowed her eyes as she looked at him. She turned back at the board and searched for that schedule he pointed at.
- - - - -
Lexie rushed in the lounge, gaining a look on all the residents inside - both Mercy Westers and Seattle Grace residents, alike. Her hair was disheveled and her shirt was buttoned wrong.
"Good...morning?" Cristina greeted Lexie, following her with a stare as Lexie stepped by the lockers, pushing Alex's legs away as she walked by.
"Hey!" Alex exclaimed. He kissed Izzie before walking out of the lounge.
Izzie sat beside Cristina as she whispered to her, "Does she know?" Cristina shrugged. Izzie went towards the locker beside Lexie's and leaned on it. She glanced at Lexie as she opened her mouth to asked something. Lexie looked at Izzie. Izzie let out a smile as she said, "Hi."
Lexie looked at her as she continued to change, "What is it?"
"You saw the schedule, right?" Izzie asked as Lexie sat and wore her scrub top.
Lexie stopped as she turned to look at Izzie. Her eyebrows arched up as she waited for Izzie to continue. Lexie looked behind her where the schedule was pinned. She stood up and walked towards the board, fixing her top on the way. She scanned the schedule, looking for her name. Her finger stopped as she saw her name with "Neurosurgery" beside it.

Rumor has it
mark sloan x reader

Tumblr media
She, she ain't real / She ain't gon' be able to love you like I will
You’ve observed her closely, bouncy walk, the smile thats brighter than the sun when it rises. You’ve memorized the notes of her perfume, studied the way her hair is always perfectly done, never out of place. Noticed how perfect she is, in every way possible. Of course he’d fall for her. Hell you’d began to think you were falling for her too. She was young and beautiful, smart and outgoing, innocent and naive. Everything you weren’t.
Nothing had been the same between you and Mark since Lexie Grey had come to Seattle Grace. At first you loved Lexie, admired her. You had been on the same service as her on multiple occasions, and each time she outshined everyone around her. She was diligent and ambitious, the perfect example of what a surgeon should be.
She is a stranger / You and I have history / Or don't you remember
You and Mark had been dating for a few years now, ever since he first came to Seattle Grace. Your relationship had been near to perfect. There wasn’t a time where the romance between you two felt off, from Sunday night dinner dates where you’d cook together, to finishing late night lab work at the hospital together. He was everything you dreamed of in a man, and you only hoped he felt the same about you.
Lately there had been less late night lab work together. Instead you’d get a call from Mark, him apologizing for the workload and telling you not to wait up for him at home. Sunday night dinners still happened. In fact it was one of the few things you held onto to believe in the fact that Mark was still in love with you. That you were the one he wanted for the rest of his life. You were the girl he’d be doing Sunday night dinners with until his last Sunday on earth.
There was this look to Mark, one that you could never mistake for anything but complete adorn. It wasn’t the Mark Sloan look he was known for, the one where his smile would crook and his eyes would gleam with mischief. This one made a softer man of him. His eyes would soften, his mouth would part just a smidge as his lips curled into the perfect gentle smile. That was the look he gave to you every time he saw you walk into a room. You’d recognize it from anywhere. It became your favorite part about Mark because it was owned by you. You were the only one who got that look from Mark.
That is until the day Lexie was paged into you and Marks surgery. The second the doors burst open and a smiley Lexie appeared you saw the tense of Mark dissolve, his eyes soften and glow, and you just knew that under his mask your favorite gentle smile had appeared.
That day you had to step out of your surgery to puke.
She is half your age / But I'm guessing that's the reason that you stayed
“I don’t know Callie it’s just the way he looks at her. Every time I see him look at her I physically feel ill.”
“You don’t think he’s cheating on you with her do you?”
“No, not at all. I know he wouldn’t do that. But I know he doesn’t know how to stop his feelings either, and I just-“ You groaned as your palms met your forehead. “I can feel him slipping away from me you know? Like he’s there with me physically, but emotionally he’s with her. And I get it, she’s shiny and new and I’m just,”
“Y/n no,” Callie began, her fingers wrapping around your wrist in an attempt to grab your attention.
“I’m just dull to him.” You turned to look at your best friend, her face riddled of pity. It was near the same look she gave families when there was nothing more she could do for a patient. As much as you wished there was a way to somehow extract all feelings Mark had towards Lexie and inject them into someone like Alex, there would never be enough shooting stars or candles to grant that. “I can feel the love fall from him Callie. Like there is this string connecting us and someone is slowly sawing at it with a god damn scalpel.”
“Ironic you say scalpel because-“ Callie started before you shot her a look that shut her right up. “yep too soon sorry.”
“What do I do here Callie? How do I keep going to bed at night with him knowing he’s in love with someone else?” The familiar burn of tears began as you wiped your face not prepared to embrace a whole breakdown this early in the morning. As upset about the situation as you were, you were not going to start crying over it in the middle of the hospital that you work at, let alone the hospital both Mark and Lexie work at.
“You need to talk to him y/n. It’ll ease your mind I promise.”
“Oh says the one who stayed with her husband when she knew he cheated.”
Callie snorted at your remark, starting a break out of laughter between the two of you. It felt nice to laugh during all of this. Made you feel lighter.
“Y/L/N!”
I heard you've been missing me / You've been telling people things you shouldn't be
Your eyes met Dereks. He was practically running to the nurses station where you had been sat with Callie. The two of you shared a glance, hinting to Callie it was best if she went on with her day. She smiled knowingly, patting your shoulder as a farewell and went off past Derek. By his furrow of a brow as Callie passed him you knew she’d given him a warning look, you giggled to yourself. If there was one thing about Callie you appreciated the most, it was her protective nature towards those she loved.
“I need to talk to you.” Derek grabbed your arm, leading you to an on call room. Your quick moment of glee dissolving in an instant.
“What is this about Derek?”
“Mark.”
And suddenly you felt heavy again.
The sound of the door to the on call room closing ran through your ear. Drowning out any other noise. Your throat felt tight and your stomach empty. You definitely had to puke, or faint? Maybe both. Something. You had to do something to get out of this conversation.
“What’s going on between you two?” Derek questioned, his hands placed on his hips.
You were silent at first, your body still in fight or flight mode, though unfortunately for you that happened to also be shut down mode. Not much fighting or flighting.
“I’m sorry?” Was the only thing you’d managed to choke out without spilling your guts to the best friend of the man you’d been worrying about.
Derek sighed rubbing his forehead. “Mark thinks you’re cheating on him.”
“He thinks I am cheating on him.” You scoffed, in total disbelief at the stupidity of that man.
“I told him he was stupid for thinking that.”
“Damn right he is. What else did he say?” At first you were just angry, as you should be, but now you had just been curious. How could you possibly be the one cheating when you were the one trying to keep the relationship stable?
“I really don’t think this is a conversation for us, you should speak with Mark.”
“Derek tell me. Now.”
He bit his lip, trying to decide which choice would be the best. “Fine,” he began, his hand pointing towards you, “but you better talk with Mark after. You two can’t keep ignoring each-other and your issues.”
“Yeah, yeah whatever I will.”
“He said you’ve been distant with him. Short with words, not wanting to be around him. Apparently you’ve left his service before because you had long surgeries with him?”
“Oh I’ve been distant. Thats rich.” Despite your efforts to hold it in, you started giggling over the words that came from Derek. Laughing to the point of tears you made your way over to the door, stopping before opening it. “Thank you for telling me Derek. You might want to keep your phone on silent later, Mark is probably going to bug the hell out of you.” And with that you left to go find the reoccurring talk of the hour.
Like when we creep out and she ain't around / Haven't you heard the rumors / Bless your soul, you got your head in the clouds / You made a fool out of me / And, boy, you're bringing me down
“Mark!” You yelled, finally catching the man you had searched practically the whole hospital for. He stopped almost instantly, turning around and flashing you that look he used to.
“You’ve been ignoring me.” He smiled even saying that, his eyes were still soft and he grasped your shoulders with such care and love.
It almost made you mad how he greeted you. The whole action gave the same feeling it used to before you had ever even began to question his integrity.
“I know I’m sorry.” You smiled back at him, no matter what was going on in your mind you couldn’t help but embrace what love he had for you, what love you had for him. It was warm, familiar. Almost made you question yourself on if you had been going crazy this whole time. “Do you mind if we speak for a minute?”
“Yeah, I’ve got all the time for you.” There it was again. Mark being Mark. So charming and sweet, the man you fell in love with.
You led him to a nearby on call room, Mark instantly sitting against the desk as you shut the door.
“So, what is all this about?” The cheeky grin that spread across his face was almost enough to pull you into him. You knew what he thought, and to be quite honest the feelings you had bubbling in you weren’t beside that thought. But still there was a part of you that still knew you couldn’t give in. If anything happened between you and Mark in this moment you would never talk it out with him. Somehow this whole span of events with him today was almost enough to convince you he was only in love with you. And maybe he was, maybe you truly were just crazy and jealous of this poor girl. Though, the longing looks they’d exchange one another, and the hands that would stay by each other for unnecessarily long amounts of time told a different story.
“I just need to talk to you.” He pulled you into his arms the moment he was able to reach you, a small gasp escaping your lips at the suddenness.
“I think talking can wait a minute.” His words were whispered as he leaned into you, lips meeting yours. It was warm and comforting, your muscles relaxing at almost an instant. You were back into the harmony you knew so well, the one you’d been craving to feel for weeks now. Even if you had tried to pull away there was no chance you wouldn’t initiate a second kiss. The feeling that rushed through you was too addicting to want to back away. That was Marks Sloans specialty.
You both stayed like that for what felt like a life’s eternity in the best way imaginable. Really you wanted to stay like that forever. Safe and loved in his arms, the only one he was focused on.
Mark began to slowly back away, a soft smile stretching across his face. “That, was definitely worth waiting for.”
Simply nodding and smiling as a reply to him, you closed your eyes again, fully taking in the euphoria before the gates around your world would fall.
“Mark,” You began, taking a small step back from his embrace. If you wanted to get any of the conversation you had been planning in your head for days -figuring out every word you’d say, even practicing in the mirror a few times- out to him you were gonna have to ruin the moment. Rip off the bandaid.
“Y/n whats on your mind?” He was so sweet. So patient.
“You’re in love with her.” And there it was. Ripping off the bandaid. And god did the bandaid sting like nothing before. Watching his face fall felt like the world was slowly swallowing you, pulling you into the core. All oxygen leaving your body as you were pulled further, and further.
“Her?” His brows furrowed, eyes scanning your face for something, maybe a sign of who it was, maybe a sign that this was all a joke. To be honest you really couldn’t read his expression. It had been so blank yet so sorrowful, remorse and confusion settling together into one.
“Lexie.” And that was all you had to say before all confusion left him. It was as if you had flipped a light switch within him, Mark finally catching onto what was happening. “I’ve noticed Mark, I’ve noticed everything. You staying at the hospital late nights when she was on call, the lingering hands of you both. I’ve seen the way you look at her. It’s the same you used to look at me. You’ve favored her in surgeries, hell, you’ve favored her in meetings.”
“Y/n..”
“No Mark, listen to me. Maybe you haven’t realized this all yet, maybe you were oblivious to what was going on, but I wasn’t. God I wish I was Mark. I’ve spent so much of my life this past few weeks just thinking about you two, thinking about us. I haven’t stopped thinking about it all since I’ve first noticed you took an interest in her.” Hot tears started to trickle out your eyes, all emotions finally pouring. “I’ve torn myself to shreds over this. Thinking about what I could do to get you to notice me more, or even just less of her. Thinking of what I could do to get you to love me and only me again. Ive thought so low of myself these past weeks I could barely function as a surgeon. I’ve made myself a mess trying to fix yours.”
Mark studied you intently, trying his best to comprehend everything that was going on. He stood up coming back near you. His hands found your cheeks as he held you gentle as ever, cradling you like the most precious piece of gold known to man. “I’m in love with you y/n.”
“I know you are, I know Mark.” You sniffled, one of your hands matching his movement cradling his cheek. You tried to give him the best smile you could forcing every muscle in your face to follow suit, even if it was the last thing you wanted to show. “But you’re in love with her more.”
His face was one you’ve never seen before. Whether it was realization or just heartbreak, it tore you to shreds seeing him like that. But it tore you more to shreds being with him after everything, and you were down to your last bit of stability.
With a kiss to his cheek and a squeeze to the hand that was still on your cheek, you smiled at him once more, slowly backing away from him. “I love you Mark. I always will. But I can’t stand to see you love her too, and I don’t know if I’d ever forgive myself for staying with you any longer knowing you’re in love with someone else. You go get her, I’ll be okay. And you’ll be okay when she says yes to your first date. We’ll both be okay.” There was tears rolling down both of your cheeks. The room so thick of emotions it started to overwhelm you. Suffocate you further into heartache. You placed one last kiss to Marks lips, you both falling into it deeper than ever.
You slowly backed out of the kiss, wanting to let that be your last memory of you two. It was the rainbow after the storm, the calm after the chaos. With that as your farewell to the man you loved more than life itself, you walked out the room, closing the door behind you, feeling as if you had left your whole being in that room. Like a piece of your soul would forever be gone. Stuck inside that room with the piece of him that had broke.
Those two pieces though, would stay together. Pieced in harmony, placed in only the memories of you two. Something more than you could ever ask for.

Part 3
Feisty Coffee Girl
Izzie and I had gone to the bathroom in the gas station since we needed some groceries and the nearest grocery store was an hour away. Holding a hand over my stomach my sister ripped open the package of pregnancy tests we had just bought. “Here it should show up in five minutes after you take it.”
“I can’t be pregnant right. Mom would be furious if I were.” I gulped nervously taking the test out of her hands going into one of the stalls.
Izzie leaned her body against the wall waiting for me. “We will worry about mom after you take the test. Right now just keep calm and do the test so we’ll have an answer.”
“Okay I’m gonna do it now.” I answered her back peeing on the stick and just sitting on the toilet until the time was up. Opening my eyes I blinked through tears so emotional about what was down in front of me.
Izzie knocked on the stall door gaining my attention. “Y/n, what does it say?”
“It uh ... .it's positive.” I croaked through tears with my sister kicking open the door since I hadn’t locked it. She helps me up to my feet getting my pants up seeing me begin uncontrollably sobbing.
She wrapped her arms around my shaking body and I cling onto her for some strength. “Shhh I’m here for you. We will get through this.”
“You really think that?” I asked her.
Izzie broke the embrace holding me by my shoulders sniffing through some tears. “You and I are extremely tough and we will get through this.”
“What do you think it's going to be? Boy or girl?” Moving my hands down to my stomach I sniffed through my own tears. Closing my eyes I paused just thinking about the choice I had to make. I could get rid of it or keep it and become a teenage mother so young.
Izzie clicked her tongue with a light smile. “I'd say girl. She'll be just as badass as you are.”
“I might hope it's a girl someday too.” I gave her a weak smile. Running one of my hands over my stomach would change everything the second the baby's father said he didn’t want to be a teen parent so I ended up on my own. “I've always liked the name Everly. I'll probably name her that.”
“Everly will be an adorable name.’ My twin sister grinned hugging me again and we just held one another.
My phone had been ringing the entire time I was driving home from work. It had been almost over two weeks since I had gotten the random guy's number. Driving towards the elementary school I was on my way to pick up my daughter from school. Caroline was only able to take her during the mornings. Pulling the car to a stop in a spot I entered the school going to her classroom. “Seriously, how many times are you going to call me.” Taking out my phone I ignored the call.
“Mommy!” Lifting my head up I saw my daughter running straight to me. Her hair getting thrown in every direction until she flung herself into my waiting arms.
Wrapping my arms around her I laughed into her hair dropping myself onto my knees. “I've missed you. I miss you all the time you're not with me.”
“Can we go get pizza?” Everly asked me when we broke the embrace.
Brushing hair out of her face I chuckled. “Sure we can. Oh one second it's your aunt Izzie….hey Izzie what's up?”
“Would you be able to come to the hospital? I am stuck here for the rest of the day and I have some gossip I really need to tell you about.” She explained through the phone.
Holding the phone up to my ear with one hand I take Everly’s with my other leading her out to the car. “Izzie I don't know if that's a good idea. I have Everly with me and we want some dinner.”
“Meredith is sleeping with one of the residents in the hospital. I think that's enough of a reason to hear the whole story.” My sister declared.
Sitting my phone in the cup holder I helped Eve get into the backseat of the car getting into my driver's seat switching the phone to speaker making our way home. “Izzie, I love you. I want to spend time with you too. But it is not a good idea to bring her to the hospital.”
“I want to see aunt Izzie.” Everly said from the backseat of the car.
Izzie heard her and kept convincing me. “See, she wants to come see me. It will be fine. I can even add on that there's pizza down in the cafeteria. So please come visit me tonight.”
“Fine Isobel Stevens. We will come to the hospital. Just do your best to not get my daughter sick because then I'll have to take care of her for two weeks.” I caved running my freehand turning the steering wheel changing in the direction of the hospital. Hanging up my phone I hoped that this would just be a good visit and the next time we could hang out at my apartment or at Meredith's house that she was living in with some of her fellow interns.
Everly was already undoing her seatbelt to get out of the car by the time I had parked us outside the hospital. Leading her inside by the hand we found my sister standing at the nurse desk with her three other friends who were Alex, Christina and George. “Aunt Izzie!” Everly removed her hand away from mine jumping up into her waiting arms.
“Oh there's my favorite little niece.” Izzie twirled her around laughing until she sat her down on her feet.
Alex came around the nurse station with a smirk on his face getting close to me. “So you’re her sister huh. I gotta say you might be hotter than Izzie is.”
“Uh…Hey Eve, I think I heard somebody say they have pizza in the cafeteria. Why don’t you go wait over there for a second and then we can go get something to eat.” Bending my knees to be her level I put my hands on my knees to be eye level with her.
Everly grinned skipping over to one of the empty waiting room seats. “Deal. Be quick, mommy.”
“Okay so what gossip were you dying to tell me that we couldn’t do at home?” I focused my attention on my twin sister with her standing in front of me.
She throws her hands up beginning to ramble off with such bright and bubbly excitement that she naturally showed off to her friends and her patients at the hospital. “The doctor that I told you Meredith slept with is the head of brain surgery and is named Derek Shepherd. But he failed to mention that he was married and then his ex wife came to work here. And now for some reason the guy who also cheated on his wife is now in the hospital in that room.”
George leaned his head to the side, getting our group's attention to focus on the open room where a guy was stitching up his own face even though Meredith was standing in front of him. “Why is he suturing his own face?”
Cristina replied. “To turn me on.”
Alex explained where I parted my mouth opened hearing he was clearly impressed. “Cause he's Mark Sloan. He's like the go-to plastic surgeon on the East Coast.”
George gasped in shock. “That's the guy Addison was sleeping with?”
“Who’s Addison?” I raised a brow at the name.
Izzie filled me in. “You can't really blame her, can you? So basically it goes like this. McDreamy is apparently been best friend up until Mark slept with Addison who was McDreamy's wife till he found them sleeping together.”
“Oh wow.” I didn't know what to say about all their crazy gossip.
Cristina said back. “No, not really.”
George gagged. “Yes you can.”
Meredith finally came around the corner entering our conversation. “McSexy wants an x-ray to check for fractures and I think it's a bad idea if I take him.”
George stammered. “Why? Why?”
Alex bolted towards the opposite direction. “I'm on it.”
George asked. “Why is it a bad idea?”
Cristina quoted. “McSexy?”
Izzie responded and Meredith made a disgusted face. “McYummy.”
Meredith and Cristina said in unison. “No.”
Meredith finally spoke up again with another nickname. “McSteamy.”
Cristina awed in agreement. “Oh there it is.”
Izzie glanced down at me. “Yep. What do you think about the nickname Y/n?”
George gagged running away the second the door open and I turned my head in the direction. “Uh, just ah choking back some McVomit.”
“I don’t see what the big fuss about him is - holy shit!” I felt my mouth hang open when a guy with dark brown hair came out wearing a black tea shirt and gray pants.
Everly spoke up. “Shit?”
“You can’t say that. Only mommy says that.” Whipping my head around I warned my daughter with a finger before putting my attention to the guy in front of our group. “I….I’ve met him.”
Christina, Meredith, Izzie and George gasped all looking over at me. “How?”
“Don’t I know you from somewhere…Feisty Blonde?” The guy that looked exactly like Mark made his way over to us. His green eyes landed only on mine and they remained there with him putting almost no gap between us. “What are you doing here, Y/n?”
Running my fingers through my hair I chuckled nervously feeling my face turn red with the interns watching our interaction. “I guess I’m meeting you for the second time, Mark Sloan.”
Comments really appreciated ❤️

Doctor!jj, I think your innocence is what attracted him to so much. All he can think about is corrupting that innocence. But you would have moments of brattiness that he would have to tame or try to anyway.
he definitely has that surgeon ego. acts like he knows so much better than you allll the time, and you listen to him cause he just reeks of casual dominance!!
whenever he gives you a punishment he drills it righttt into you, he’s the doctor and he knows what’s best so you should behave next time!
