i like the idea of kevin and andrew losing contact after they graduate. 

kevin’s been drafted to a team somewhere on the west coast, andrew’s found a passion for like behavioral sciences or child development and goes back to school for his master’s degree. they didn’t have a falling out or anything. 

it wasn’t some big blow out with words neither of them meant (andrew would’ve preferred it if it was) one day the texts just stopped coming. there were probably still some sparse happy birthday and merry christmas texts but nothing of substance. 

they’ve both accepted that some people were meant to be in your life for a set time and theirs had run out. andrew still watches all of kevin’s games and kevin always asks nicky for updates on how andrew’s doing but they’re both too stubborn to reach out to each other again (maybe they’re also too hurt). 

but one day, on a random summer afternoon, they’ll bump into each other again during some mundane activity like grocery shopping or sitting at a park. they’ll have an awkward conversation that seems more like a convo between acquaintances and not best friends. past lovers. 

kevin’s back during off season, visiting with matt and dan. andrew just needed to get out the house before studying drove him up a wall. at the end they’ll exchange numbers but they don’t use them until a month later (kevin finally caved). 

they talk nonstop though. kevin had a habit of saying anything that came to his mind (andrew had asked him if he had anyone else to talk to and kevin said no pretty plainly. andrew never asked again).

a year or so later kevin’s flying out to see andrew whenever he can and it’s nice. its all so nice. two cups of coffee on the counter instead of one and naps in the evening sun and soft touches at night. the smell of cedar and yellowing books. spice and fresh laundry.

they have this weird not relationship but they’re okay with that. it’s a start. a second chance.

I decided to do something that coincided with my Linda is deaf AU, and got this idea for it where on their first date, or whichever date where Linda reveals to Bob she's deaf, he decides to dance with her to some street musicians and lead her and help her feel the vibrations of the music :3
