Okay so I saw S1E2 of HH “Video killed the radio Star” so here’s my thoughts on that, ⚠️SPOILERS⚠️
- So once again, the pacing is all over the place. In the span of 2 episodes we have to deal with introducing Adam and Lute, the main characters of the hotel, the three V’s and Sir Pen, and I don’t like how the three V’s are introduced in the second episode of season 1. Like…can we just let the characters we know breathe and get to know them before you introduce new ones?? Told you this was going to be like Helluva lol.
- So hell is freaking out that the extermination got moved to 6 months later, but Charlie of course isn’t the focus of this episode. It’s mainly the three V’s + Angel/Al/Sir Pen. It still bothers me that the reason behind redeeming sinners is not because Charlie is sick of Hell being a damnation but because she doesn’t want them to be exterminated. It’s such a drastic change from the pilot and the character motivation that it still throws me off sorry.
- So, I actually like Vox. I take back bitching about Christian Borle playing him because while his suave voice may not fit the twink design, he does a fantastic job either way as expected, making Vox an intimidating person. I had thought before that Vox was going to just be this dumb henchman, but I actually like how he’s the runner of things. He’d be so cool if he didn’t curse and talk like every other character in the show though.
- Good GOD Valentino. I already shared how I felt about him when the dialogue leaks came out, but I HATE how his character is just this idiot man baby who throws temper tantrums and legit needs to be “calmed down” by Vox because he’s such an idiot. Like…Velvette calls him a piss baby and Vox legit had to talk to him as if he was one, that’s how dumb this guy is. There’s a scene where Vox asks what they should do about the hotel and Val says “just put something inside, that’s how I get the bitches”- like…kill me. The fan interpretations were better. He was actually someone you didn’t want to mess with and had an intimidating voice, here he’s a whiny baby that you have to remind yourself is the same guy who forces himself on Angel. The Addict and comic version of this character is not the same as the one we have now. His voice is too high pitch, it sucks and his accent goes on and off constantly. Viv can’t write abusers for shit, she sees everything as a joke. Again, how are we supposed to take abuse seriously if this is how you portray your abuser. Crimson is more intimidating than this joke of a cockroach.
- Alastor has been gone for seven years, yeah that “Lilith is Rosie and Al is working for her”- allegation is 100% true like it perfectly lines up together since Lilith has also been gone for seven years. Only for Alastor, it makes no sense. Like…wdym he’s been gone for seven years. The pilot is canon and they state he’s been at the hotel for a week. Alastor was literally walking around town when Charlie was on the news. Do they mean that it’s been years since he’s done his radio show? Viv, when you retcon shit you need to specify. You’re just confusing everyone again.
- They need to explain why exactly it’s dangerous to make a deal with Alastor because all this vagueness isn’t helping the story. The whole reason Vox sends Sir Pen out to be a spy was to make sure Charlie didn’t make a deal with him, yet you literally have Vaggie making a deal with him like it was nothing in the last episode. I also fail to see why exactly Vox cares about Charlie making a deal with Alastor in the first place. Is it because he doesn’t want Al to have more power? Is it because he doesn’t want Charlie to have power? EXPLAIN.
- Yay more retconning and woobifying. So Angel Dust is a whiny wimpy bitch in this episode, he’s very out of character. When Sir Pen comes to the hotel, he’s extra pressed about that, when in the pilot he couldn’t even take Sir Pen seriously and was acting nonchalant towards him. Then when Charlie starts getting all giddy and complimenting Pen, Angel gets sad and jealous??? This is the second fucking episode of season 1. I thought the whole point about Angel and the hotel was that he didn’t trust Charlie nor take the redemption stuff seriously. Now apparently he wants her approval? And then when he finds Pen out, Pen insults him and that causes Angel to just fucking lunge at him and start punching. When did Angel get this goddamn sensitive. Why did the wimpy snake character who’s supposed to be a loser get under his skin THAT much? It’s even more jarring because the last episode Angel was literally saying he loves being exploited and in the pilot he’s presented as someone who could give less of a shit of what other people think, now a simple jab at him being a slut made him go off. Remember when Travis called him a slut in the pilot and Angel just laughed it off? What happened to that Angel lol.
- Vaggie has a line that flat out calls Angel a sexual harasser. And yet we’re supposed to feel bad for him and root for HuskerDust. Makes perfect sense Viv, fuck you. She has no idea what sexual harassment even is because she sees actual harassment as quirky funny jokes and paints it as genuine love. Pick a side. Is Angel an asshole who sexually harasses people or is he an uwu baby who deserves to be with Husk. Clearly Viv chose the second option.
- I liked Vox and Al’s song, tho I wish it was more singing instead of talking. Charlie’s song in the end was boring but at least it was short. I still don’t know how to feel about Pen being at the hotel tho. Like I get he’s a loser and not a big threat but him happily joining the hotel now is way too structurally fast. There’s a lot of things that feel like Viv changed at the last minute compared to the pilot and it shows. Pilot was better.
That’s it, not looking forward to the third one which is HuskerDust focused (female centric show my ass)

Sure, she didn't directly agree to sleep with Belial when he offered because she thought he was still unwell, but here I honestly still expected her to just jump right in and not think twice about Leviathan's feelings, so I was very happy when she said this instead; she didn't focus on the fact that he dislikes her, but rather on not risking hurting him should he not want to do this with her. He's definitely attracted to you though, MC. He's just not on good terms with the concept of expressing his feelings relatable as fuck
I know how this may have sounded harsh or mean of me—and it's not meant to be offend anyone—but the truth is that this MC wasn't created with 'gentle and sweet' in mind; the way her brain is hardwired to tirelessly daydream about sexual things has lead her to be insensitive at times (with painfully questionable intelligence to top it off, sorry) as seen in certain instances.

This part is kinda funny so far, what with how MC has gone batshit insane on him. That being said, it's really nice how she cares about Minhyeok so much that it's the foundation of her rage and the reason Satan's wrath burns in her, urging her to harm Leviathan in a frenzy after he said ruthless things about Minhyeok. Meanwhile, Leviathan is so busy trying to get turned on that he's neither jealous nor envious of that lmao
update XXI: this is going to sound weird coming from me when I'm somewhat of a sadist who likes dark themes, loves horror and gore, and enjoys seeing torture in certain scenarios do I sound like the freak I am yet? and when I just made such a fucked up joke with good intentions too, but...MC hurting Leviathan over and over like this summons a feeling of discomfort and remorse in my heart even if I completely put away my dislike for consensual violence in sexual acts.
Leviathan's past and the possible psychological implications behind his fondness of undergoing physical harm make this part somewhat painful to read, because perhaps his arousal from being hurt has something to do with what he went through as a child (i.e. it may be a coping mechanism of a sort).
When I think of it that way, coupled with the horrific aspects of his childhood—the pain being inflicted on him messes with my emotions. Then again, this could just be his personal preference and not have deeper meanings. Either way, the game holds true to its themes and maintains excellent dark perspectives, and as I always say, I'll never dislike that. In fact, PB better keep these founding concepts intact.

It's a change of pace, new. For WHB, at least—since it isn't like previous CGs—but it's heart-throbbing in its own way; seeing cold, pretty Leviathan on the floor like that, meek with his red cheeks...slurp a delicacy.
Ahem, anyways. The CG took me down memory lane somewhat, back to my first otome-playing-days from about 10+ years ago. Whenever the 'Happy Ending' CG was of the male lead alone, I always disliked that because I WANTED TO SEE *THE COUPLE* DOING THINGS, DAMMIT (even though the wildest things players saw characters do in CGs back in those days were mostly kisses lol until they got more daring, that is).
So yeah, while I did feel sort of disappointed when I first saw this CG, while I do prefer CGs like those of previous H-scenes, and while I still wish I could've seen Leviathan and MC in action, at the same time this CG is *chef's kiss* for obvious reasons and also due to how I feel like it suits Leviathan very well in a way. He's built walls about his heart and boundaries around himself, so it's as though the game won't let players see him like they did the men before him (in the main story), if that makes sense. I'm also hoping his shirt stayed on during sex

It has to be at the fancy restaurant hotel instead of room service. And he's getting a little impatient. He doesn't mind those things, but he just wants some alone time with his baby. And when you're coming back from dinner, he starts to tell you how he feels, but before he can, a man passes you by.
As he passes, you catch a whiff of his cologne. "Excuse me, but your cologne smells amazing." The man smiles, giving you a quick once over before thanking you and continuing on his way. When you turn back, you don't realize that was Hongjoong's last straw. As you take the elevator back to your room, you notice he is unusually quiet. He doesn't say anything as you walk into the room until the door is closed. Grabbing you by the waist, he gently lays you back on the bed, before hovering over you and trapping you with his arms. You're suddenly surrounded by him; his presence, his body, his scent. He floods your senses. He trails his hand slowly over the skin of your throat as he speaks. "Sweetheart, I love that you're enjoying our trip so much. But don't you think I deserve some of your time? Hm? We haven't been alone since we got here, and I'm honestly kind of upset with you."
You're barely paying attention, since all you can focus on is the way he smells. The scent of his cologne is making your brain short circuit; you're reminded of past nights spent in his arms, and you can feel yourself slipping into the heated memories and the absolute need that they bring with them. Hongjoong noticed your eyes glazing over, and he smirked before tapping your cheek. "I can see it won't be too hard to make you forget all about that other guy." Your brows furrow in confusion as you ask him who he means, and he laughs. "Like I said, easy. Spread your legs for me, love."

babies, y'all will not believe what happened @ work yesterday...!
so as many of you already know i work at my uncles bakery and theyre a pretty well established bakery since it has been around for 10 years so far, but when it was a small place back then they used to have partnerships with famous people from brasil (we're a brazilian bakery in the usa) and so these famous people would eat for free and post us and stuff like that.
but then!!! this journalist - lets call him joey, from brazil that used to have a partnership with the bakery (it ended two days ago. i'll explain further) started to bring these famous brazilian influencers that ate for free for 3 days, they brought like 30 people with them (and those 30 ppl also ate for free) and they didn't even post the bakery... like, the audacity? to be rich as shit and them bring your flopped crew over to eat the expensive items on the menu for free?! alright, okay. my uncle? got pissed as shit.
so, two days ago, he called my boss (uncle is owner, boss is my boss duh, and then we have a manager which is fhe lady that takes cares of me and the front house ladies) and he was like "i do not want this son of a gun eating here or bringing famous ppl here ever again! if they come here theyre gonna have to pay, they wont eat for free anymore!" he left the bakery fuming that day.
NOW THE PART WHERE ME AND MY SISTER COME IN THE STORY! now, yesterday i was looking all cute and peaceful, serving a customer and when im done, i look over to my side and this flopped influencer crew from brazil comes in and they talk to me. i dont even give the satisfaction of letting them know i know them (putting influencers in their place...) lets call this influencer girl camila - and she asks me "are the boss or the manager here?" and i said "im gonna go check in the back" so i go to the back and ill like "alright there r famous ppl here and theyre looking for yall" and my boss and my manager do not want to deal with them (famous rich ppl full of nerve) anymore and they said "we're not here!!".
so i return to front house and i tell camila "is it only something that needs to be resolved with the boss or the manager? theyre not here atm." and they said "yeah cuz we have a partnership with the joey." so, that basically means they didnt want to pay for the food hahaha. i tell them "alright just one second ill see what i can do."
i go to the back again and i tell my boss and manager "they said they have a partnership with joey when i asked them if it was an issue that could only be solved w the two of u" and they tell me "tell them that they can seat at the VIP (we have a vip private room that is paid/sometimes we let certain ppl use for free) but they have to order their food at the cash register and they'll have to pay." and so i go back front house again and i said "you can use the VIP but the orders will be taken here front house." so they take our menus and go to the VIP and then they return to the cash register to make the order. AND THEN!!! my sister is at the cash register to take their order (mind u my sister is very blunt, not rude or anything but she doesnt any any issue at all at solving things and putting people in their places.) so this man (camilas brother - lets call him flop) goes to the register to order their food. the total was almost 200 dollars and my sister tells him their total and his like.... "wdym 200?! 😅" like sir... you have a partnership with joey not with us. and so flop tells my sister "im gonna go to the VIP and see what we can do." and then my sister goes back inside to tell our boss and manager what is happening with the influencer crew blah blah. but!!! the crew leaves. flop went to VIP and they left afterwards bc they didnt want to pay.
the bakerys phone starts to ring and my manager gives it to my sister bc she knows its joey calling. my sister picks up the phone and joey starts to GO OFF like a little bitch. ill be brief when telling yall what he said but my sister basically told him that the owner (my uncle - lets call him fab) doesn't allow us to let any tabs open for people (famous ppl) anymore unless we have his word. do you know what joey says?! he says "you have my word. let them eat and ill go pay for it." and then my sister says "i need the owners word. i can try to reach out to him but i need his answer before leaving a tab open." and then joey says (or better yet, yells at her...) "what part of you it dont you understand? i said im gonna pay for it!" and then she said "okay. i can send their order to the kitchen. do you wanna pay now (we have a service of paying through the phone) or pay at the cash register front house?" and joey says "im 20 mins away from the bakery." my sister mutes the call and goes to tell my manager and boss "joey is 20 mins away." my manager and boss go to the office room and lock themselves in there bc joey is like... crazy as shit and he has a lot of audacity.
anyways. at this point joey has hanged up the phone. not even five mins later he calls again and he is like full blown fuming fire whore at my sister. he yells "CAN YOU NOT SEE THEYVE LEFT ALREADY?" and my sister said "well, i wasnt at the VIP section; so not." joey then yells "YEAH BUT THERE IS ONLY ONE EXIT AND THEYVE LEFT ALREADY." to which my sister replies "im not front house all the time to check whos coming in or leaving. i have things to solve inside so yes, i didnt see them leaving."
anyways, joey just keeps going on and on about the situation and my sister is like "okay, have a great day" and hangs up. joey starts to blow up my managers and my bosses phone, because hes so upset that these rich ppl have to pay for their fooooooddddd!?!?&?$?!?!? like babes, first of all, yall are a flop. second, yall are rich!? like... okay.
anyways, my boss tells fab that joey yelled at my sister and fab is like "wtf. i'll literally break his fucking face if he ever shows up at the bakery ever again. ill make him leave hy kicking his ass outside if i have to."
this is all we have for now tho. my uncle doesnt come on weekends so ill try to sneak into his office tmr during my break to talk to him and see whats going on. ill keep you all updated.

ok so the thing with Fingon is. he is Fully Convinced that he is the only sensible guy in Himring atm and he’s… he’s so wrong about this?? And he doesn’t even realise?? Now that we’re coming to the end of arc 2 (one more part!!) it’s easier to look back over it and say that the main focus of the last nine parts has been Fëanorian Melodrama, but that doesn’t mean Fingon doesn’t have plenty of character stuff he will need to work out.
and yes Plans coming up for Curufin and Maglor hehe!! Poor Curufin keeps having to go on road trips. He is so sick of road trips.

hehe am very glad you liked Mandos here! Between Lúthien and Finrod he’s just kind of like “you can’t… you can’t DO that…” The whole “Finrod refuses to leave Mandos” was something I pondered for a while before I actually decided to go down that route. Firstly I am always very scared of writing Finrod: he’s such a complicated and intimidating character!! And secondly I didn’t want to give him an edgy anti-Valar arc because that’s not what he’s doing exactly. He is (kind of) grateful for the chance to be re-embodied. But I need Celegorm’s death to have continuing ripple effects and once Finrod jumped into the story I realised this might be a good and thematically relevant way of doing it. And at some point I want to start digging into politics in Aman too, which makes the canon divergence important! (Hint hint who do you think might be showing up eventually 👀)

Ohh so k-pop does get overwhelming at times like keeping up with all of their comebacks and activities does take a toll on the psyche 🤧 i took a small break of sorts back in 2021 just to get a breather and instead focus my energy on books :') the whole pandemic situation and the lockdown was beginning to get to me + i had to deal with an academic burnout but !! things are definitely better now.
OKAYY so it took me a lot of time to finalise a bias in nct dream and tbt all nct units unghhh i lobe them all but my nct dream bias as of now is renjun. this man has me wrapped around his finger and activates the heart eyes WDYM HE HAS A PRETTY VOICE HES AN ARTIST HE'S PRETTY HE'S SHARP TONGUED AND HE'S A TOTAL SWEETHEART LIKE HE'S SO CARING 100% BFF/BF MATERIAL :( FDIBCFBN GOD HAS HIS FAVOURITES ALRIGHT and oml don't even get me started w the yangyang and renjun interactions im still reeling from when they did this.
In 127 i have a soft spot for the vocal line lol so i usually bias whoever's in the vocal line for a particular song (DO THEY HAVE TO MAKE IT SO HARD TO CHOOSE THO). rn it's jaehyun bc I'm obsessed w his voice (it's his first few lines in good thing <33)

kpop does get overwhelming sometimes dfkjlas but also i just kind of got bored for a bit so i didnt feel motivated to check up on it in so long,, but now i just found the excitement again and i feel the same i did when getting into it for the first time its so amazing. i got into kpop just before the pandemic started, so it was something that was keeping me going during the lockdowns and shit :) i am glad you're feeling better now, though!

A highly unconvincing "I like the anime a ~normal~ amount" commentary.
-i'm about to start s2 and i'm giggling like a schoolgirl about to meet her crush. i'm all "I MISSED YOU, DAZAI!" i finished s1 yesterday. THERE WAS NO TIME TO MISS NO DAZAI! and yet.
-i already thought we were on the saddest ep so far, with dazai saying he loses everything he wants, but then the kids got blown off and... yeah. we're in the dark timeline. i came out here to have fun and...
-ranpo?? bumping into oda?? i was not expecting that.
-aha aha ha, bungo stray dogs, so whimsical, then why am i crying...
-and then dazai fulfilled his "i want to help people" goal and found friends :'). so lil bb has been with the agency two-ish years. okay. okay. i love dazai. okay.
-i'm glad the ending titles are keeping the theme of dazai tenderly touching his people
-i can't believe i'm saying this, but i feel bad for akutagawa. he needs help. like in life.
-this is the most intensely i've binge-watched something in a long time. and i don't binge-watch, i need breathers. but no. it's dazai et al or nothing.
-lol the agency in the opening: more or less normal. kenji-kun: holding a street sign. as you do.

-i love that atsushi's emotional growth isn't a straight line. he thought himself worthless and useless. then he found strength. then he backpedaled when he got rattled. then dazai slapped him and he sort of regained his composure. and so on. it's very realistic, feels intentional, and not inconsistent at all, because there's always something triggering the back and forth

-ABILITY: CRIME AND PUNISHMENT AKSFJNJKSSG I AM EXCITED (also the fact that dostoyevsky's va is ayato and luocha's va, does not compute)
-I LOVE SEASON 2 SO MUCH :"))) It’s just proof of how a story can be serious and violent and dark and still have a fundamentally feel-good vibe. misleadingly feel-good that is, ‘cause once you take a moment to take in what’s happening, it’s more like, “DERANGED! EVERYONE IS DERANGED!” but in a feel-good way.
-i really like that people stay in the story. that they're not one-off antagonists/allies.
-I wish wish wish i were familiar with more of the actual authors. i don’t think it takes away from the enjoyment if you don’t know them, but when you do know them, the references are like easter eggs and it’s delightful.
