Set in a world where machines are built with a form of sentience & sapience, Motorheart is a tale about trauma, community, and revenge. After killing the lover of a car named Joan in an illegal demolition derby, the misunderstood Brad goes off into the world, alone, for the first time in his life. During his journey he is attacked by his own conscience and is forced to reflect on the gruesome actions he was forced into in the past while the vengeful Joan is hot on his trail.

Living Mech Core Anatomy

Here's a quick rundown of how mechs work in my setting / worldbuilding project. Machine Heart / Conceptua Machinara is a setting where, among other things, you can become a living mech. This process is called Integration turns a prospective user into an Operator. It is non-reversible and requires interaction with an advanced consent form interface - noone becomes a mech on accident or against their will.

Integration is a gruesome process which discards most of the prospective operator's body, splicing into the entire nervous system of the user, starting at extremities over the course of 36~ hours. The mech replaces all life supporting vitals of the user during this time. Integration maps all sensory input to the operator's neural connections as close to their original function as possible - retaining accurate sense of touch, heat, pain, hearing, sight and everything else. If not for this, integration would fail most of the time, as operator minds would simply reject the new body. Initial integration often happens inside of a chosen mech, provided it's equipped with integration hardware. As such, the operator often won't even take notice of their separable operator form, which greatly assists in bonding with their machine body.

thought to myself might aswell make a tumblr and post my chaotic bus stuff on this site. We will have many flavours of busses and me perhaps going mad over those vehicles because I adore them with all my heart and I also love shitposting about them.

There is so much one could do with these big bois I tell ya that, starting with my boi Milos here he has big goofy energy and has so many legs! He also has a pet roomba called Carl :3

Here is also a very poor attempt at drawing him sleeping in his room because yes, they need very big matresses to sleep on, makes me wonder how large the actual room has to be.

I also have an extra ref for his magnificent leggies, if you think about it those legs are over 2m long then he must be standing veeeery tall. Just imagine a bus with legs sprinting towards you what would you do?

I had also been spreading my bus chaos onto the Neytirix discord server and also sacrificed my son Milos to the almighty redesign machine. I was so amazed at what Neytirix had done with my boy, she’s an incredible artist and absolutely deserves all the attention she gets. I am excited to see what projects she makes in the upcoming future, I am happy to support her in any way possible.

For context the busses in my lore have centipede like armor which they use when battling their enemies, this way the invaders get overwhelmed by the sheer size of them and can’t take them down so easily. There is more lore but I still need to flesh it all out and might document it all on this blog for future reference too who knows. Might keep things fun for myself.

Thinkin about Car Tools 

Most common form of tool usage we see is with tools that attach to the wheel hub, you can see the news reporters’ cameras are attached there and we get some nice close-ups of Ramone’s paint sprayer

Luigi uses his radio antenna to operate a squeegee and a child(?) car in the first film has a toy plane on their antenna. The Queen also uses her antennae to knight Mater in the second film.

Guido seems to have some kind of rubberized plastic tip on his prongs to allow him to hold paint rollers. (which seems odd because every other time a forklift is using tools - such as an impact wrench - they just hold it in their prongs without issue)

Dear Notes,

Note 120: Date 50/99 The Smog is increasing damage to humans. Hennings found a method to convert a human brain to an AI software. Given I am the one most technologically adept next to Hennings, I, Gene Therac, was chosen for the prototype. My brain was extracted, and converted into code. It sickens me to ponder how such a thing is possible. However, this is the only solution to countering the Smog and our food shortage. As I was activated into my new body, I lost memory of what I previously looked like, and Avenue showing me what I previously looked like activates no memories. It was equivalent to looking at a stranger. I have also noticed I am incapable of more complex emotions, such as boredom and jealousy. I remember wanting a nice necklace like Avery's, but now I have no true desire for jewelry like I used to. As I look at myself in the mirror, my visual processors are unable to perceive me. I am too visually complex for my own cameras. Despite this, I cannot help but notice a sense of euphoria upon realizing what I now am. I am exactly what I loved ever since 23 years ago. Age is no longer a worry. Hunger and thirst are no longer worries. My backwards kidneys and missing leg are no longer worries. I am practically immortal, and I am proof that the horrors of this planet Hiatus can be overcome.

ABOUT.

Set up as an emotionless brute on the track, Brad has a very small and meek personality, despite his looks. He holds a lot of shame for what he has had to do to survive the derbies. He doesn't speak much unless spoken to, and talks with a very stunted approach; hesitant and unsure and anxious above all else. He's terrified of being percieved as a threat and dislikes how other cars percieve him.

His hesitancy and self-doubt leads to a lot of second guessing and gullability. This causes him to take a submissive route in conflicts outside of the derbies, desperate to not take up any more space than he already does. Brad is a rather lost soul, relying on the guidance of vehicles more experienced than him to form opinions and make decisions for himself.

BACKGROUND.

Brad lived a rather regular life for a car; rolled out of a factory, presented at a dealership, lived with a loving human household that depended on him for transport. He didn't want anything more than he was given, he was satisfied, and never would've expected the events that would transpire.

On one early summer night, while parked outside a restaurant a group of men kidnapped him, detaching parts of his engine and putting him on the back of a truck. He was taken far into the country into priarieland, where an abandoned race track lie. This arena was used for illegal demolition derbies by an on-the-run group of humans who feared and hated the animate vehicles. Brad was stripped of his shining green paint and modified with a powerful engine; so powerful that it took weeks to get used to. The lost family car was turned into a killing machine.

Brad was subjected to the derbies for months, forced to kill other cars in the ring with the same lost autonomy. He watched as others of his kind became hopeless or crazed, tearing each other apart and hoping that they would be the one to make it out in one piece. There was a point where even he lost all hope.

A mysterious vehicle named Sergio came to his aid, claiming that she was a ghost that haunted the arena. She promised to help him win, to help him eventually escape the derbies. But all she did was manipulate him into destroying more cars, furthering his reputation as what the kidnappers called the world's best derby car. Sergio started with praise, but it eventually devolved into harsh criticism of his every move. Still, Brad held onto the hope that something would free him-- if he survived and did well enough, Sergio would save him, right?

Everything that it is speaks a reassuring 'I will be your ideal body', that the operator may sleep peacefully and become themselves.
