Thinking relentlessly this morning about the way Kendall and Shiv both use paternalistic language in this episode to manipulate each other. They know the other's perceived weakness within the family unit and the broader patriarchal society - Shiv's gender, Kendall's mental health - and weaponise it under the guise of the other needing to be sheltered, and Roman buys into it with both of them, because at the heart of him, he believes it.
