It occurs to me I forgot to post my reading from earlier and boy howdy was it apt lmao. I am also literally in bed rn so this may be a little sleep-rambly. Apologies beforehand.

So The Moon is... in this context, illusion/(self) deception. I am prone to maladaptive daydreaming, so I see that card in that position and I'm like "ah yes, one of those days." I really needed to be on task today so it was important I didn't do that. (Harder than it sounds.)

Knight of Wands is all about new ideas, and what do you know in the course of my (partially unwilling) daydreaming today I figured out what was stumping me about the scene I'm writing. Deleted a couple lines, started fresh, good to go. It's also taking the scene in a slightly different direction but it's cool it's fine lol.

Ten of Wands is a red flag as much as it is a finish line. I'm overextending myself, but also I'm so close to the end of this damn chapter I can taste it. Which, well, yeah. Part and parcel of trying to learn new habits with Other Things Going On lol.

Anyway, my reaction to this reading today was to basically set myself up for success tomorrow. Worked slightly late today to have nothing (officially) to do tomorrow, since my boss is on vacation. I still need to like. Check emails and man phones but otherwise I'm free. AND evening plans got cancelled I've just learned so yessssss. But yeah in terms of the daydreaming, I did still allow myself to indulge to an extent -- while I could have finished earlier I know it's a coping mechanism of mine for stress. I basically just throw a screensaver on to save power lol. And the new ideas I can act on in earnest tomorrow, probably. We'll see how it goes!

Important to note that my reading here was based off of my observations this morning: I check in with how I'm feeling and see what about the card pings something in my brain. So it's basically a form of guided meditation and day planning lol.

By Popular demand, here’s some of my LPS Hot takes

Some of the later pets weren’t That bad. Like yea I do agree that the tv show based toys from like 2013-2016 weren’t that great and kinda fugly looking, but with some of the 2020 pets, why yes not as iconic as the 2000s lps that we know and love, I still believe some people were really harsh on some of these pets cuz like they did look really cute tho! My only problem with the pets was the fact they had names tbh 2. Not every g2 lps molds were perfect. Some really good examples of older lps molds being kinda ugly were the first Jack Russel and poodle molds. I’ve also mentioned about the skunk/Squrriel molds were pretty lazy since it’s just the same mold . They didn’t even try to make them different from each other. Like say what you will but at least with some of the newer pets between 2013-2020 they were at least trying to make the skunk and squirrel molds different from each other. also the opossum molds was not all that great tbh..

3. The worse thing that ever happened to lps was the Blythe loves lps toy line. No joke idk why they thought this was good. I mean if you guys loved the Blythe dolls that’s fine, to me I always found them off putting since well, they just didn’t fit personally. Like you’re the one who’s caring the pets or this is a world where it’s run by pets. There was never any mention about humans tbh. Again this is prob coming from bitter younger me lol. But in all seriousness though, never really liked Blythe dolls tbh

4. People need to Chill out about the some of the rerelease of lps. Yes I understand, I’m just as nervous and excited as the rest of you guys however I genuinely feel as if people are really making a mountain out of a hill over some prototypes and a blind bag. Like I understand that everyone’s burned out by bad decisions after bad decisions within the lps Franchise. And yes blind bags are overused and annoying however, Guys.. they’re not just gonna make only just blind bags, they’re gonna do other stuff for lps soon just be patient. Not to mention at the end of the day, they’re still just silly little pets for kids. Can you critique the toys? Of course! But just remember that it ain’t that deep. 5. They should bring back that one brown poodle mold

yes this one! its cute as hecc! and i wish they would bring this back 6. This cat isn't a "Wolf-Cat" Its a maine coon. This isn't even an opinion or anything, i just wanna let people know that its suppose to be a maine coon. also the actual "wolf-cat" is called Lykoi and idk how that breed of cat would look as an lps.

7. the main reason back in 2013 Lps was having a reboot was due to MLP having a reboot. that's just my theory tho.

8. I feel like a lot of people keep forgetting that 90s LPS exist. Like whenever people say "g1" they don't think about the kenner Lps toys, they were thinking about the 2000's lps that was popularized by hasbro. and tbh that kinda sucks.. cuz why yes the kenner toys were more into realism, i still geninually, like the kenner lps figures they were rad.

9. The sticker eyes lps were cute, I actually liked them 10. One pet peeve I had with LPS popular, is that technically, Brook should of been arrested or at least suspended since she did attack Savannah first. Not to mention, doesn't this school have like cameras or something!? i know this has been years since I've watched LPS popular but like, bruh, Why don't her parents believe her!

Umm.. I dont really have any other opinions nor thoughts at the moment. idk feel free to ask me anything lps related and I'll give my honest opinions.

The AU starts after brook’s party. She takes a 3 week break and decides that the stress of being popular is not worth it.

She tries a new diet and gains healthy weight but wears baggy clothes as she’s not used to it yet. She’ll get there tho

She doesn’t hang out with anyone but Alicia as she’s brook’s realest friend ever (other than savanna)

She’s still into the latest trends and still pretty popular (to impress her mom) but not the most popular in the school. That’s savannah’s new thing

Don’t get me wrong, I love savanna. She’s only turning into a mean girl because of the popularity. RN she’s not treating one of her friends right and that’s Angelina.

Angelina is at fault for making sav popular but quickly realised how wrong it was. She mostly feels felt out now a days and doesn’t even bother hanging out with her friends anymore

Angelina finds brook in the school closet area at lunch and actually starts talking to her. They’re not not friends yet and still don’t really like each other but they talk to each other sometimes

Today in "LP fell into a random research hole" -

Why do we use the possessive "'s"?

Is it a contraction? If so, what of?

Oh neat, the one that puts the apostrophe at the end of an existing S has a name. Sometimes.

So this is apparently Old English in origin, but why.

Was eventually used for all nouns, but in many cases the E fell silent.

French printers apparently used an apostrophe in place of the letter E? And the English just. Adopted this practice? And used it for not only possessive but plural forms

Because the plurals used the "as" suffix

Okay so apparently Middle English kind of got its shit together and changed the "as" words to "es" in the world's weirdest twist, and extended it to all plural and not just the super cool strong declensions.

There was a 40 year period in which English speakers were collectively smoking crack and spelled the possessive as "his." As in "James his cloak." Which like FAIR but also I hate it.

Your LPS customs are soooo amazing!! Like genuinely so inspiring 😭 I wanna get into it but I have no idea how!!

Thank you so much!!! that really means a lot! And I'm really honored to hear I've been inspiring people with my work<3 I can provide some tips on starting the hobby if that helps! this'll be based on my own experience though of course! I can firstly say that getting into LPS customizing was pretty simple for me, because I already had most of the supplies I use for other projects, and it was only a matter of getting the bases themselves to paint on. Of course I have the LPS I grew up with but I didn't want to ruin those lol. I use those blank bootleg LPS bases they sell on amazon. You can also use authentic LPS but I'd recommend making sure you're not painting over a rare one like a big 5 or Savannah Reed first lol. A good starting point is to draft out the design you want on paper/digitally to see what kind of custom you want to make. for me I use digital templates and paint over them in my art program. Templesta on DeviantArt has some really good ones! For paint I use acrylic. Get a teeny tiny paintbrush for detail work along with a couple other sizes as well and those should be all the basic supplies you need to start! You can also get more complex with it and use chalk pastels, water color pencils and glitters too. Get creative! see what supplies you can use to take your customs to the next level. As a tip, make sure to water down your paint and do multiple thin layers. Patience is key because that paint is not gonna want to stick to the base at first. A lot of the actual painting process does come down to practice and a steady hand.

If you want to seal your customs which isn't necessary but gives them a nice finish, I recommend Liquitex high gloss varnish to seal the eyes. There are some good matte varnish sprays out there but I recommend doing your own research on those, as they can be resin based and therefore need a bit of caution and prep to handle. I personally use Mister Super Clear matte spray to seal the base of the custom, and I always spray outside with gloves and a respirator.

And though I have done sculpting I don't consider myself well versed enough to recommend supplies for clay but I've heard Green Stuff and Apoxie sculpt are good clays to use, but be sure to do your own research on those as well.

The monster high doll customization community is a good place to look for material research! A lot of the process of the face-up is pretty similar to painting LPS. That's actually what got me into customizing in the first place; I just watched a bunch of Dollightful, Enchanterium, and Moonlight Jewel's videos and said to myself "Wait a minute, I could do this with LPS!" I also of course recommend watching other LPS customizer's videos to see the process of how they make their customs, and show them some support as well! Pumpkinscustoms Is a really big inspiration for me and HelloStudios, Mr. Crazy Ray and LPSCobalt have really good videos on making customs.

And once again, if you don't wanna dive right in you can just draw them, whether using a template or not to see if you like the process and the design! You can even make a bunch of designs digitally and once you feel ready to tackle a real custom, start there! ahaha I didn't know I'd be writing a whole-ass Essay but I hope all this helps!!
