Long B4 official Global #Covid19 #pandemic ,🇺🇸 shutting down, #maskmandates #shelterinplace & #socialdistancing ... i was bouncing around #Japan #HongKong #Macau when news hit late 2019 then I ended up in #Pyeongtaek #SouthKorea for a show @jjsjazzf early 2020 during the holiday. Then @kobebryant passed during holiday weekend. Went back to #Seoul & this when people started staying home. Our finals shows & streets started being more empty. Fear was growing. I went back to #USA & whole world had changed like I had never seen in my life. #BayArea at least in my hood #Oakland I was mostly familiar w/ #LNY as #ChineseNewYear & cool looking #ChineseNewYearParade i learned alot more from being out here & from my Dj @lanetjones from Indiana @hiphopcongressinc Its celebrated or not celebrated differently depending on the country. Im going to just talk about #Korea In🇰🇷it's a national family holiday where people usually go 2 their hometown & do traditional ritual w the fam honoring ancestors. While kind of celebrated for show & retail purposes based on Western Influence Thanksgiving Christmas & Universal Calender New Year are not official holidays here. For the most part except for foreigners these are just regular days w/ regular schedules. "LNY" which is usually Jan or Feb is the real Holiday Season where people get days off work, kids get winter break from school &folks travel 2 see family. The fact that #Covid outbreak came around this time probably was not good for containing spread. But just a coincidence. No 1 knew what was coming then. Holidays are rooted in Tradition , Tradition rooted in Culture. Culture rooted in History. History often from stories. Take time to connect these dots in your own community. Rules for wearing masks in restaurants & cafes were confusing and made little sense. Of course you won’t spread any of that airborne virus while sitting down eating.

To Mask Or Not To Mask

I am home for the foreseeable because masks are not being worn and my struggles continue. But talking about mask wearing will never go away because the virus still exists, it’s not done with us and we’re not done with it. Cases will continue to rise.

‘The Kite Runner’ is the first show on Broadway requiring audiences to wear masks at certain of their performances. Being disabled myself my life has changed irrevocably. It’s a noticeable move, primarily because it’s the only theatre, but also because masks are required on the busiest day of the week, a Friday.

Fans who live and deal with a disability or those who have health vulnerabilities have continually called for theatres to host nights where masks are worn.

In London’s West End they have yet to introduce the same scheme. There has been audience demand for theatres to continue to insist on theatre goers masking up. The major theatres in London’s West End have not yet introduced wearing a mask scheme.

Some venues in the UK including the Nottingham Playhouse, the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough, the Hampstead Theatre, and the Royal Shakespeare company have scheduled occasional mask-only performances.

It is because restrictions are lifted and the government have chosen selfish practices over common sense, there is little appetite for theatres bringing mask mandates back to venues in the UK, but there are groups out there including me, who are struggling without mask wearing.

Although we are a minority it has been noted by the media. Individual nights, are being trialed for those who are keen to protect themselves in theatres. This information should be shouted from the rooftops.

Conclusion:

We should be masking up. How else collectively will you reduce the virus? Being told this could be one of many viruses, should be enough for us to do ‘the right thing’ and make sensible choices, so that we’re helping others who are now ‘home’ for the foreseeable. The disabled, the infirm, the elderly, what about them?

We are already setting ourselves up to fail because we’re ignoring the facts and because there is no cure to Covid, it’s madness we’re not taking responsibility and changing that.

Ignoring the world deals with a virus is setting us up to fail. For me, it means unless I can make provisions to keep myself safe I am home. I think that’s selfish, not selfless.

The B.C. government is bringing back masks in all health-care settings.

Global News has obtained a memo sent from the Ministry of Health to health-care providers on the plan that is expected to be announced Thursday at a press conference.

When asked about the announcement on Wednesday, Health Minister Adrian Dix said, “It’s not a secret. We’ve been talking about this for about a month that for the respiratory illness season in the fall, we would expect health-care settings to have masking, so we’ll have details of that tomorrow.”

Health officials across the country are urging Canadians to get a COVID and flu shot at the same time as provinces have seen a rise in cases.

Getting both the flu and COVID-19 shots at the same time can provide an added layer of defence against respiratory illnesses, health experts said on Sunday. Although the influenza vaccine and the updated COVID-19 shot are not currently available, experts anticipate their rollout in mid-October.

“In preparation for the viral respiratory illness this fall and winter, B.C. will be reinstating enhanced infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in health-care settings, services, and programs, including community physician offices and outpatient clinics,” the memo to health-care staff reads.

Scientists have developed a new type of technology called mRNA, which is similar to snake venom in some ways. The people in charge now have this technology, and there's a chance they might use it in the future.

I want to tell you about a conversation I had with my Telegram followers in October. We talked about Dr. Bryan Ardis's discovery that parts of the vaccine might have come from venom. He shared this in a documentary called "Watch The Water".
