I literally cannot fall asleep right now cause my brain won't shut up about Nero's childhood

Like do you think the number of demon attacks increased in Fortuna when he was born? Do you think his mother stayed with him as long as she could and possibly died protecting him but he was so little like probably barely a toddler so he doesn't remember her? Do you think once Nero's demonic arm appeared he didn't have trouble going out on his own and fighting demons cause they just seem to be attracted to him? Do you think he lived on the Fortuna streets for a bit and/or in an orphanage which gave him his stubbornness and punk attitude to things? Do you think he spent nights fighting demons because he couldn't deal with the thought that he was cursed with this demon arm and how terrified he must've been at the thought of the Order finding out? Of Kyrie finding out?

Cause I do and it currently is keeping me awake

just remembered a wip i had which was jay at uni meeting normal people and desperately trying to act cool and normal whilst internally screaming about being in a whole new place with all new people and not having his gang with him

#i only wrote one scene where jay meets one of his flatmates #and he’s trying to make casual normal conversation & asks her who her parents are #bc that has always mattered! on the isle or at auradon prep your parentage was also a Conversation Starter #and the girl is just like ……what. why do you want to know that #but she tells him and jay makes it into a joke like hehe oh yes i met them at a soirée once. amazing company #and the girl is like ok who are YOUR parents. knowing full well who he is #and jay says that his dad fosters puppies. and the girl says that sounds like a good life and he’s like ohhh just the BEST #i really. love exploring jay at uni i’ve written a couple of things i’ve never finished #like!!! for the first time for years he’s well and truly all alone!!!!#and at least the isle & ap had similarities. uni is just full of very normal people who don’t particularly give a shit #and jay who is like THE guy who cares about everything so much all the time and how people are reacting to him and he’s desperately trying+#to be so cool and unbothered whilst trying not to revert to his isle tactics regarding people who may be threats #just. being somewhere so so new. with no one he knows. everyone else is so far away. and jay is missing his gang like he’d miss+#his body parts. and it’s like. jays always buried his own emotions & hurt so he can better protect his gang #and now he has no gang to protect #and he is just laid absolutely bare. and also constantly stressing about not being there for the others #i just think he’d have an absolutely awful start to uni <3 #descendants #jay son of jafar

Your rape comparison is dumb because it gets exactly to the point that you're missing. I come from a place in Nigeria with a history of arranged between young women and older men. A long time ago this practice was not only common, but largely an expected process when it came to joining two people. Today most people in Nigeria acknowledge this to be immoral and some even consider it to be sexual trafficking. I would be inclined to agree. Yet only a few hundred years ago it was not questioned. Not because rape wasn't looked down upon back then, it simply wasn't considered rape. I have a traceable family history to men I would consider to be rapists by today's standards. Do I consider them heinous men? No. It was simply the expectation and the culture of the time. Marriage was considered a unification of families rather than individuals. The opinion of the girl being married off was seldom considered. I don't think every slaver was a heinous human being either. For a large amount of time in many cultures having slaves was simply how large amounts of work got done. Yes, it required the belief that humans could be relegated to property. But that wasn't an idea they culminated on their own. Just like most of the belief systems they held. The same is true for us. Everyday I go to work for someone else to provide for myself and my family. In modern society, if I don't work, I don't eat and I die. I believe in the future we will have considered it a barbaric slavery to hold a man's basic needs hostage behind working for someone else. Maybe it will be "UBI" or something else, but I do believe that in the future most people's basic needs can and will be met without the systems of work we have now. And I don't think we'll consider every person who ever owned a business and made people work for a living, a heinous person. If you judged every person from 1000 years ago on their actions and dispositions most of them would probably be "bad men". At that point calling someone bad in that context becomes largely meaningless and renders the exercise a complete waste of time. Even a peasant from the late middle ages would likely be a terrible misogynist with them engaging in catholic traditions that gave them complete control over their wives, which I think we would agree is bad regardless if they treated their wife well or not. What people like you are too stupid and self-centered to understand is that, 200 years from now, people who look back at certain practices you supported as barbaric. No matter how convinced you are of the morality of certain practices, now, in the present, a different society in a future era, might consider them destructive. Something like lobotomies were viewed as compassionate and medically supported in the 1950s. What are society's views on lobotomies now? Does that make these people bad if future generations do something different?

It looks like a raid will happen to Eagle clan (according to an article earlier) because they wanna basically kidnap apes to do work at Proximus's kingdom. Among the ones who get captured are Soona and Anaya. Noa will also get captured eventually and that's when they reunite and embrace.

Mae secretly has a plan to have humans rule again but then starts to reconsider after getting to know Noa and co.

The big "OH SHIT" moment is them finding a nuclear weapon. Perhaps someone is risking to activate it and put everyone in danger.

Noa getting a scar (maybe one similar to Ceaser's birthmark?)

The dreams Noa has talked about are similar to the ones Ray in Revelations had about the world.

I wouldn't mind if Noa was a descendent to Ceaser but I also wouldn't mind if he isn't.

If he dies, Proximus will not be killed by anyone. He will end up getting himself killed.

Oh god if Noa's bird gets killed...it would be so sad. 😭

We will convince an ape to switch sides from Proximus to the main gang.

Daily excerpt from today's writing, chapter 9 of Constellations:

'It's... I've been struggling with trying to understand why you chose Crielle over me. I know that sounds- I know you were very upset and you'd just been badly hurt by my partner, so I can see a lot of really logical reasons why, but you've also been badly hurt by Crielle, and I'm just trying to understand... I suppose I want to know if that was all me. Just you hating me.' Efnisien was silent for a long time, so long that Gwyn thought he had an answer. Finally Efnisien inhaled sharply. 'I don't remember all the details about that night very well,' Efnisien said, looking down at his legs. 'But I remember at some point you said something like...I'd changed. Or like it was obvious I'd changed from who I used to be. But that night, I hated myself for everything that happened so much. To me, everything was my fault. Me being punched in the face was my fault. Me being attacked and hurt by Kitson was my fault. Me being at a kink club I never should have been at in the first place was my fault. All I saw was this cascading thing of how bad I was for everyone around me, and so you said I'd changed, and I knew I hadn't changed at all. It was like... I knew I'd ruined everything. My relationship with Arden. My friendship with Kadek. I knew I deserved that. And there you were telling me you could see that I'd changed, and I couldn't stand the idea of you believing that. So I couldn't... So I shut you out.' Efnisien looked up towards a bookcase, and he smiled to himself. 'You know it wasn't a choice, in a way. I didn't choose her over you. I knew I couldn't risk you believing I'd changed when I knew I was the worst person I'd ever met. And then I just wanted someone who could tell me what to do, maybe. Someone who also believed I was the worst person, and who could fix everything. To me it didn't feel like I picked her over you. It felt like I was...removing you from getting hurt more. Even you being at the door, I just felt like I kept hurting everyone around me. You sounded so upset, and that was also because of me, something I'd done, some reaction I'd had.' Gwyn couldn't think of what to say for a long time.

Proximus Caesar, Bunker, and Flood Theory? Kinda????

I've been trying to understand the layout of Proximus Caesar's kingdom, and I just wanna share what I found while I did, so here are some random thoughts. Maybe a theory? And some rambling and me getting confused as to what I'm looking at. Let's grab our tinfoil hats and let's gooooooo!

First off, here is my mini theory. I never really noticed this thing circled in red in the corner until recently. It looks manmade. Aaaand it looks like it's moving? I can't tell if it's stationary and the camera is moving, or it's moving open like a....door?

As in this door? I'm honestly not 100% sure. But it looks like this scene is when Proximus is entering this underground place for the first time after finally getting it open, and he has his two buddies backing him up.

And in the trailer, I think Proximus is shouting "PULL!" And we see a shot of apes pulling at something heavy with chains. Maybe they are trying to open this door? And maybe this is also why he is taking some apes as slaves? To do all this pulling?

And I have no idea what that door leads to. Bunker where humans live? An abandoned weapons depot?

Now the reason why I think it could be a bunker with humans, and I acknowledge this is DEFINITELY a stretch, is because during the shot where I think it's a door opening and he's entering this underground place for the first time, we hear Proximus say "Bend for your king." And well, he'd only say that to people aka humans?

And I totally get it's a stretch, I know, but a lot of the dialogue in the trailers we've gotten so far is matched with scenes in a way that hint at what the story could be about. But like I said, a stretch. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Plus, we know for sure Proximus is fascinated by human tech, (airplanes, cellphones) and he wants to LEARN. And I don't think he can access and understand this tech by himself. He'll need some smart humans. Sure, maybe he only wants one human and that's why he is hunting Mae. But why not enslave multiple intelligent humans and force them to teach you?

Something else to talk about. This explosion is destroying the wall that is right next to the ocean. This means the entire place will be flooded, which will be like the Flood from Noah's Ark.

And IF the big door is open while all that water is rushing in, they're all gonna be sucked into that hole in the ground, and let's just hope that Noa, Mae, and everyone knows how to swim, because it's about to get really wet here.

Also, can we talk about how that spot is a.... VERY inconvenient place to set up your kingdom? Without that wall, that entire place would be covered in water. That wall looks barely tall enough to keep the water at bay.

You know what I love? The Victorian (and early 20th century) obsession with Gwyn ap Nudd. It's absolutely WILD and I promise I'll write a real post with sources soon. For now, here are some highlights of things Victorians have written about him:

He's a small and silly fellow! Ohohoh!

He was rather fond of Gawain… until he wasn't.

He's definitely Melwas/Hades/Sir Guyon/Oberon. Actually, he's every fairy king ever.

He's closely connected to Neath, to Pumlumon, to the Berwyn mountains, to Blaenau Gwent, and more (yeah, they looked for him everywhere)

He's a demon of the abyss. Also a lord of glamour and a god of fertility/darkness/the unknown.

A fertility god, you ask? With no kids? But aha! Hywel Sele, who haunts the Nannau Oak, was apparently his son.

And my absolute favourite: on Hallowe'en, when he's not off hunting with his musically skilled but ultimately ill-fated companion, Iolo ap Huw, you can find Nudd's fearsome and enigmatic son tapping at your windows, asking for potatoes.

OK, those are just from memory. There's so much more. I need to know, though… Gwyn, what happened to you between 1830-1930? Are you OK now? How would you like your potatoes cooked?
