There are 33 phyla in the Showdown lineup, so after the polls close on Round 1, the winner of Xenacoelomorpha vs. Hemichordata will go up against Micrognathozoa in Round 1.5 before we move on.

How this bracket was created:

After assembling the list of phyla, I ranked them based on my best guess of how they would perform in the polls. I then split the list into the Top 16 and the Bottom 16 (minus Micrognathozoa), and created a bracket for each half using this site. I split up the list because it felt unfair not to give the less charismatic phyla at least a chance to compete! I've been affectionately calling the Bottom 16 matchups the "Micro-Royale" :) From there, I created a new bracket, alternating matchups between the Top 16 and Bottom 16.

TECHNICALLY SPEAKING these two personality types are NOT compatible, but I don’t want my matchups to be solely on which mbti types and zodiac signs are compatible. Otherwise so many of you would be matched with the same person. NOW, while you would be the “supervisor” in this relationship, judging all the mistakes that Kuroo as a ENTP makes, I feel like Kuroo is actually pretty mature as he’s always telling Kenma off for things, and I don’t think you’d be the type who’s picky about little things that he does that you may not agree with, so I think with good communication, you would definitely work out. Unwinding After A Busy Day with Kuroo

After your classes and whatever work he had to get through for the day, he invites you over for some well deserved quality time together (this is completely separate from your date nights you have weekly)

You’re completely relaxed in his arms as he now scrolls through Netflix, looking for a movie the two of you can watch together as you wait for your food to arrive

You both take so long deciding on a movie though that the food arrives just as you finally agree on one

He answers the door, pays for the food and sets all the food up on his coffee table, deciding you guys would eat while watching the movie

The movie plays and you share your food with each other, taking a seat in front of the couch to use the coffee table as a dining table for the night

He glances over at you every so often, smiling in pure bliss at the fact that you’re there with him

Once you finish eating, you move onto the couch where you both struggle to stay awake as the movie continues to play; Kuroo holds you close to his chest, fiddling with your fingers as you start to doze off

You both end up falling asleep on the couch as your movie finishes and Netflix just keeps playing more stuff automatically

You wake up the next morning with a stiff neck and sore back as the screen reads ‘are you still there?’

It was all worth it though, waking up beside Kuroo was one of your favorite things (his too, you had no idea that he was actually awake and just admiring you for a few minutes before you woke up)

second, i'd love to request the Louisa prompt and i will try to be as detailed as possible about myself:

my name is tigerlily but i go by tiger :-) i'm 20, she/they, about 5'4" with a thin build and my hair is dark and styles like a short neck-length shag with micro bangs! i have 6 tattoos and i definitely plan on getting more! my only piercings are my ears, septum, and the bridge!

to start off, i'm very introverted and i come off as timid or mean, but once you get to know me, i'm very talkative, sweet, and caring :-) o don't have many friends but those that i do have often tell me i'm funny without even trying! i often have trouble opening up to others, and tend to keep my emotions to myself unless given the safe space to talk about sensitive things and i become more lively when talking about the things i love! toward others, i'm very considerate and kind and i'm often regarded as being too kind sometimes, but i know my limits when the time comes :-)

i work at a women's boutique and it's a wonderful job, but i absolutely LOVE to ramble and vent about rude customers to help relieve stress! stress is another thing that i'm pretty easily subjected to and it tends to affect my mood but i try my best to not let it out on those that i love, but a good stress relief is always talking to someone who listens to me! another big point is that i absolutely love physical affection in any way; either it be kissing, hugging, or simple hand holding and i love gift giving, but i do not like gift receiving!

as for how i dress (with brutal honesty) my biggest clothing inspiration is alice from twilight :-) it's what i feel most comfortable in and i can also dress formally from the experience i have at my workplace!

Creating another testing map

I want to have a level where players can playtest the system that's different to the shooting range. I want to have a short course that is filled with enemies that the player needs to defeat and while they do this course they will be timed.

I want it to create something similar to an airsoft kill house where every thing is makeshift and usually built out of wooden. I really like the design of the fake looking buildings and remind me of grey boxing that's used in level design.

I have sketched out the general layout I want for this course to have a range of different sized rooms with long corridors and short ones so that players can test out each attachment and these attachments could effect the speed at which the player completes the course.

I have created a new level and have made the large room this course will be located in.

I have set up the lights to so that the entire room is visible and the lighting is not too dark or too bright like before.

To get an idea of scale I have taken a screenshot of the grid wall from the players perspective and I have taken it to photoshop to sketch a general size for things like doors and windows. Doing this will help with creating the prototype assets and keep it to scale with all the other assets without needing to micro adjust later.

I had to make a few adjustments to the models in game since in the screenshot I used to sketch them out the wall is partially under the floor so I had inaccurate measurements. However, it was a simple fix because I just needed to adjust the hight a little.

To create the door I used simple cubes and textured them using a local material so that the grids on all of the cubes would matchup making lining everything up acurately a lot easier.

To help with making the window I used the door that I just made as a reference and compared them next to each other aswell as the sketch I made. I again created a new actor and used basic cubes to create the window.

I have changed the material of both the door and the window to blue since that is the colour I am using for things the player should be drawn towards. It also helps it stand out from the grey background.

For the wall I have created another actor this is because if I want to adjust the hight or thickness of the wall then I can easily change it in the actor and all of the walls with change at the same time. This is easier than going around to each wall and changing them slightly.

To make the stairs I created a new actor and made a cube and stretched it the length of the gap. I then duplicated it and placed it edge to edge with the previous one. To make it so the player can walk up this smoothly and not bumpy, I have added another cube and stretched it the length of the stairs and then have set it to be hidden in game.

I’m 21, female, body build is muscular but still thick, shoulder length ashy brown hair. I don’t have a particular style of clothing but at the moment I wear gym clothing everywhere (it’s just so comfortable!). I have an old great dane and a budgie.

I listen to a lot of music, you’ll usually find me wearing headphones most of the time. My favourite hobbies are painting, drawing, exercising, acoustic guitar, star gazing and travelling. Fav food/beverages are ice cream and iced coffee. My smarts would play into my profession of nursing, so I am quite knowledgeable but I can be forgetful and have time management issues/procrastination due to adhd. Bad habits are also procrastinating, skimping on sleep (night shift does that to ya), negative self talk, worrying too much, zoning out in conversations. Scolds you for taking night shifts (even if he does the same thing), so he’ll practically shut down the base for you so you can take a nap on the couch.

The first daily interaction with him is, “How are you feeling? Have you consumed water today? Have you taken your daily medication?” He cares so much and it comes out in the form of fussing over you.

Each negative comment you make about yourself he tells you something that he admires you for. Beyond ecstatic if you do the same for him.

Tries to take your mind off of stressful things by asking you questions about human healthcare or your latest painting/drawing/writing/ect..

If you’re getting ready to exercise and remind you to stretch beforehand, he’ll stretch with you or help you out with it.

When a real fight occurs however, I go all out. I once kicked the asses of three guys twice my size. My dad is a retired Navy Seal who taught me how to defend myself so I have him to thank for that. I tend to be the funny friend who does stupid shit to get a laugh out of people.

I tend to shut down when people get angry with me. There are times I feel hyper sexual and times I feel sex repulsed. I go far out of my way to prove myself to others that I'm not useless or deserve to be in my mom's shadow, but my dad can't overlook that he only compliments her and how hard she works because he's hopeful he'll get sex that night. It's difficult for me to open up to other people because I'm scared I'll get hurt. I never cry but it affects me greatly when my dad "jokes" about me being fat (as if he's any better than me). I'm simply tired of being the butt of his every joke. My brother is Autistic and my parents make excuses for him all the time to an unfair extreme, but never do the same for me.

You’re excitement is palpable as you drag your boyfriend through the entrance of the animal shelter. The lady at the front desk looks a little frightened at the sight of the mountain of a man behind you (you give her an apologetic smile, waving his seemingly mean expression off), but she still guides the two of you into a large hallway that gives way to multiple rooms, filled with plenty of critters waiting to be taken to a new home.

“‘Toshi,” you whisper excitedly as you tug on his arm, “which room would you like to go in first?”

He hums in contemplation, taking a look at all of the labels stamped onto each of the doors.

Suddenly, he looks down at you, “The kittens.”

At that, you beam up at him, again dragging him until you reach the door in question, turning the doorknob and stepping into a room filled with tiny kitten chirps and mewls.

There’s about fifteen of them, you think, that greet the two of you right once you close the door behind you. They all have different coat colors, different hair length, different eye color.

There’s another volunteer sitting on the couch in the corner of the room, a teenage boy who’s able to see Ushijima Wakatoshi, professional wing-spiker and member of the Japan Men’s National Volleyball Team, in the flesh.

“You— you’re—“

“Ushijima Wakatoshi,” he greets, stepping up to the boy and offering his hand for him to shake, “we’re here to adopt an animal.”

The boy takes it with wide eyes, shaking his hand in an almost trance-like state.

You wave to the boy and stifle a laugh at the way his eyes seem to twitch.

“You— uh... let me know if— if you need help or anything,” he falters, watching in awe as Ushijima plops himself down onto the floor to play with the kittens.

Several of them flock to the big man, crawling over his legs and chirping up at him to get his attention. You sit beside him, and a few of the other ones in the room come to you.

Ushijima picks up not one, but two in a single palm, and it looks like there’s still room for one more. But he doesn’t push it, instead opting to use his other hand to scratch at the kittens heads and underneath their chins.

You’re holding a baby Tabby cat, it looks like, and a Calico makes her way in between your legs and plops herself in your lap.

A tiny one, with eyes as blue as the sky and fur as white and soft as snow, somehow climbs its way up your boyfriends arm, then plops down right on his shoulder, mewling and rubbing up against his chin.

“What’s this ones name?” You ask as Ushijima sets the two kittens down in his palm to scoop up the kitten on his shoulder, holding it out in front of him with his arms outstretched.

“Her name’s Angel,” the boy responds, smiling as Ushijima brings her closer to his face as if he’s inspecting her.

“She’s so cute,” you coo as Ushijima hands her off to you, pressing tiny kisses all over her face. She chirps, butting her head against your cheek.

Your boyfriend looks fondly at you and the kitten, watching as you put her on your shoulder with a wide smile so she can mewl in your ear. You look like you have stars in your eyes, and Ushijima thinks he made the right decision to go into the kitten room first.

Suddenly, he turns to the volunteer on the couch,

“We would like to adopt her.”

[Darkness Over Vellsar] Portalcraft first impressions/card review. (Rotation)

The new expansion arrives tomorrow and we finally got to see the whole list of cards. New story mode characters are being introduced and a wave of new playstyles are coming for every class. Which style will be the strongest? Only time will tell, but we can already make some predictions, like how solid Fairy Forest looks (my contender for the best new deck), how the high risk-high reward playstyle of 20-rune looks something to test at least, or how Dragoncraft’s deck buffs could be a nightmare.

But, how’s Portalcraft? The push for Portalcraft is divided between two playstyles: Artifacts and Resonance, yes, Resonance. Although Artifact Portal (Rainbow Artifact, to be specific) has been online on rotation since World Uprooted, there’s a new card that helps you destroy your own artifacts to achieve that goal and a new finisher now that Absolute Modesty and Vertex Colony will be leaving the format (That reminds me, I should change my icon). This new finisher is also the reason Resonance Portalcraft could become a thing in the future

Let’s start, then, talking about the new cards for the class.

Bronze Cards

Miscalculation: The first bronze card of the batch is Miscalculation, a strong start for those wanting to turn resonance on and off at least once every turn as it provides you an extra draw at the beginning of your turn for three turns in a row. By itself, it allows you to play the perfect Sylvia, draw the Feower/Tien you’re missing, overall card advantage or fulfill your winning condition (which we’ll talk about more later). However, it can make you mill key cards in Artifact as you want to be filling your hand with Paradigm Shifts too, and its three cost translates into a tempo loss against aggro matchups. 3.5/5

Micro Assault Bot: A 1/1 Rush follower that gets Bane in Resonance, ‘nuff said. Overall a good card, specially in Rally decks, and it draws you a card too through enhance (3). Although you could say this enhance is what hinders the card to make combo plays to clean a monster immediately (It doesn’t get bane on fanfare, but when it’s already on the field). No space on Artifact or Evo decks, but still an option to consider in Resonance and Rally. 3/5.

Mecha Arm Mechanic: This card is good, like really good, for Take Two. Although some could put it in Rally as a budget Giant Puppetmaster, I wouldn’t bother playing this card in artifacts. Take two Portal needed a buff, though, so I’m glad this card appeared. 1/5 for rotation 4/5 for Take Two.

Energy Supplier: Our fourth bronze card is a 2-cost 2/2 body with an effect at the end of your turn: Add an Analyzing Artifact into your deck. Adding artifacts into the deck was good before, and maybe this card could be run as a 1-of in unlimited, it supports Resonance so maybe you could vouch for it now that the playstyle is starting, and maybe this card is good for take two; but all these maybes have me doubting if this card has actual value. Maybe/5. 1/5.

Silver Cards

Planar Breach: Now, onto the silver cards, the list begins with a another really good 1-cost draw with an enhance that summons one of the hardest artifacts to play, and it gives it Rush! Now, this card won’t be played mainly for the enhance, unless you need to destroy as much different artifacts (Reminder Ralmia exists), but with how much 1-cost draw there is in the class, you could vouch for combo decks, like Evo Portal, who need specific cards in hand. 4/5

Gizmo Enthusiast: This card discards in order to draw, and summons an Ancient Artifact on evo in case you need to deal with board. Overall, the card is good, helps you fix your hand and is the most solid resonance support this expansion has; however, it has to compete in Artifact Decks with the other cards that summon Ancient Artifacts, though Technomancer can give her a hand. 4/5.

Puppeteer Duelist: Two cards in one, nice board control in both cases but it becomes good Evo/Rally Portal support when you’re outside of resonance. Simple, but effective card, one of your best resonance payoffs during early game. 4/5

Gold Cards:

Artifact Carrier: this card serves as a finisher in midrange decks, summoning 2 Radiant Artifacts to swing for game, but his best usage comes in the form of the accelerate. As it summons you a Mystic artifact into play for early protection, and adds a Paradigm Shift into your hand. Artifact carrier is a key card to consider when building Artifact decks this season. 4/5

Miriam, Mutinous Being: I love Miriam since her appearance in Dawnbreak Nightedge and I was seriously surprised seeing her retrained into a gold card with the dark vibes of this expansion, I was about to spam her despite their effects but turns out she’s really good: Her accelerate allows you to not rely on the opponent to destroy your artifacts early game and it provides you with a paradigm shift. Not only that, playing her as a follower has a resonance advantage of restoring you 2 PP and her effect when an artifact is destroyed means you could finish all of your games with 4 damage burns every time your Airstrike Artifacts die, good card early and lategame, definitely a 3-of. 5/5

Legendary Cards:

Magna Zero: This card is simple, but effective, and the biggest resonance win condition the game has to offer, getting into 10 resonance activations doesn’t seem difficult and dedicated Resonance decks could pull off the 20 damage OTK, a bit on the meme side, though. Future Resonance support will tell, but so far, you can get by trying to finish your games with 10 damage. 3/5

Spinaria, Keeper of the End: Another dark retrain this expansion offers comes in the form of Spinaria. Same as Miriam, Spinaria supports Artifact decks by summoning two of your paradigm shift artifacts, or 3 if you already destroyed 6 artifacts with different names, making her also a Rally Portal support card. His accelerate effect, summon a Spinaria’s Artifact, provides an early body that can convert into draw, as well as an artifact with different name for the counts of Ralmia and Spinaria herself. Another 3-of in Artifact decks. 5/5

And those are all the Portalcraft cards about to come on the next expansion, this wave of artifact support may end up making the deck as expensive as Swordcraft has been in the latest sets, Evo Portal has gone cheaper and got more card draw to pick your combo pieces now that Omniscient Kaiser and Ameth are rotating out. Resonance Decks are just beginning, but an evo-resonance hybrid might be the way to go now, which would maybe push for a 1-of Magna Zero in the deck. Anyway, I’m excited to play robots again, see you guys soon.
