Ok, I'm literally obsessed with the Separated!AU, I read all in the tag in a couple of hours, I made this account just for this AU
I want to know something, does Lou Jitsu exist? Like did Splinter also became a movie star in this AU too, if so, does the turtles like it as much as in canon?. I just can't stop thinking about a Leo who discovered Lou Jitsu movies and probably getting an hoperfixation over them and watching them non-stop when the day went wrong
Tumblr media
Lou Jitsu does exist! I imagine Raph was never a huge Jupiter Jim fan, seeing as Splinter hates Jupiter Jerk, and Raph probably picked up on that, adopting the same mindset (I HC that Rise!Leo was the one who originally got his bros to watch it—seeing as he’s always referred to as the super fan, and because I love any call back to soft dork Space Heroes Leo SO. MUCH.) When Raph met April, she probably tried to get him into Jupiter Jim cause she likes the franchise, but Raph only really enjoys a couple films and according to April his taste in which JJ movie is the best is so bad, it’s not even worth talking to him about it.
Mikey would also be a hard core Lou Jitsu fan, but more from what he’s seen from his Battle Nexus fights. Lou Jitsu is the longest reigning champion after all—a total legend—with Mikey holding the title of second longest. Angelo straight up loses his mind when he finds out that there’s a whole filmography to enjoy, the old BN clips that Big Mama used to play for him were cool, but they were grainy and sometimes the angles sucked. But with the movies Mikey gets to see his hero in full remastered high def.
Leo is a Jupiter Jim fan first and foremost cause he’s secretly a huge dork. When he was little, a few of the older recruits had a movie night, and Leo, with just a hint of rebellion still in him, snuck in—just missing out on Punch Chowder, but right on time to catch Jupiter Jim Sails the Seven Galaxies. Ever since that night he was hooked, but had so few chances to ever enjoy anything more. Once he gets closer to April, she lets him borrow her whole collection of movies, series box sets, and comics, and the two are so happy to be able to geek out over all of it together, even if they can never agree on which movie is the best, April figures bad taste is just genetic at this point and has given up fighting it. Secretly though, Leo also loves Lou Jitsu after watching a few with Mikey and Raph, he just refuses to admit how much he likes it and says the dialogue is too corny. The two constantly gang up on Leo, saying that Lou Jitsu is better than Jupiter Jim, so it’s more him choosing one over the other out of stubborn pride.
Donnie is April’s saving grace with Jupiter Jim—agreeing offhandedly one day that Planet Vacation is the best movie of the ones he’s seen so far. However this is still in their off phase, and the irony is not lost on April. She’s devastated that the one brother with good taste seems to want nothing to do with her, but she’s now more invested than ever in winning Donnie over.
Once Donnie’s introduced to Lou Jitsu’s movies, he’s the one to point out how cool it is that their dad is a movie star. Which causes everyone to lose their shit. Because even though Splinter told Raph and April about his past with the Shredder as Hamato Yoshi, he never actually mentioned that he was THE action film star Lou Jitsu. But of course Donnie knows, because pretty much all he heard from Draxum for years was Lou Jitsu’s DNA this—Lou Jitsu ruined his life’s work that blah blah blah.
Tumblr media
@organisedchaosstuff They’re just a bit too old to trick or treat unfortunately, but it is still a fun night where they get to walk around and not worry about freaking ppl out. The first year they’re all really together, Mikey pulls that whole ‘younger sibling who did a thing ONCE and now he thinks he’s an expert’ and acts like he’s Leo and Donnie’s guide for the night, even though Raph has been doing Halloween with April since they met.
Mikey’s just so excited he can hardly contain himself. Halloween at Big Mama’s was always a big to do. But it was, like always, a big fancy party that felt more like a chore than anything. The night he went out with Raph and April the year before, was more fun than 100 parties put together and now with Donnie and Leo it’ll be even more fun—even if Leo refuses to dress up—at least Donnie agreed to have some fun and dressed up as Frankenstein. Mikey dresses as a werewolf, Raph a vampire and April goes full zombie.
Everyone counts it as a win, when seconds before they head out, Raph plops a Jupiter Jim helmet on Leo’s head, and barring some slight grumbling, he ends up wearing it the whole night as they run around.

teapirate replied to your post “I just recently hit lvl 72 on galaxy of heroes which is the next ‘new...”
oh man i've been chasing dooku for a while, for no other reason than i need my team of salty grandpas (i'll feel slightly bad putting ben to lead sidious, vader n dooku but still) n dooku's counter chance at 4x speed makes him dash around like the energiser bunny, but he RESISTS >8(
for some reason???? even though you open those stages pretty fast????? DOOKU IS REALLY HARD TO GET SHARDS FOR??????? Ever since Likealeaf was telling about the team she was putting him on, I was like “OH!!!” and so I’ve been trying to get him, but it took me this long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve heard other people complaining that Dooku doesn’t seem to counter as hard when he’s your own teammate, but I personally think that’s confirmation bias. He doesn’t counter that hard on other teams - but I also save him (and other counter-spammers) for next to last when wiping teams, so I’m not taking counter damage and hits from the team.
A salty grandpa team sounds amazing though. Are you going for Emperor Palpatine or the Darth Sidious version? (why this scrub gets two incarnations >:\ and no padme???????) I think Darth Sidious would be an excellent salty grandpa, if only because he was dealing with Anakin and not Vader. But i’m really tickled by the Emperors bent posture.
Now I feel like I should put my Kylo on a team with the Emperor, since they both kind of hunch lmaoooo

                   You said 'Salty Grandpa' and I though "Old Ben" first.
YOU’RE NOT WRONG. I tend to call him Crazy/Cranky hermit personally, but I definitely think that Old Ben qualifies for the Salty Grandpa title =w=
The only reason I don’t call him Grandpa tho is because Ben Kenobi is number one in my heart, my first Kenobi, I love him so

_______________________________________________________________
Third person Pov
Y/n was laying on her bed staring at the ceiling, she let out a deep sigh as she heard her sister in the room laughing obnoxiously loud.
“Mei!” She said slamming her hand on the wall. “Why are you being so loud?” She didn’t respond, so y/n stood up sighing. She walked into the hall.
“Mei!” She yelled into her open door. “Who are you talking to at this hour?”
“Yamaguchi.” She said. Y/n rolled her eyes.
“Don’t keep each other up all night, and tell Yams I love him please.”
“Of course Y/n.” Mei said as Y/n left the room and headed down stairs.
She went into the cupboard and grabbed a cup. Filling it up from the tap,  she looked out the window into the night.
A tap on the glass startled her as she tossed the cup into the sink and looked at what the cause of the noise was. Standing in the window was Kyotani. She leaned over as she opened the window.
“What the hell are you doing?!? You scared me half to death! Do you have any idea what time it is?”
“Tendou asked me to pick you up and take you to him.” He said ignoring her previous questions.
“Why..?” She was skeptical of him.
“Just fucking, come on.” He said clearly annoyed.
“Fine. Next time use the door you psycho.” She said as she slammed the window.
She walked over to the front door of her house. As she opened the door Kyotani stepped inside.
“Hurry the fuck up. We have to go.” He said as he rolled his eyes. She turned as she yelled up the stairs.
“Mei! I am going out. If any violence occurs where was I?”
“At home.” A voice yelled back.
“Okay let’s go.” She said as she pushed him out the door. A car sat before them in her driveway. She gave him a clearly confused look. “You have a car?”
“Just get in.” He got in the driver's side as you hopped in only for him to speed off immediately.
“Slow down Sonic.” She said with a chuckle.
“Fuck off. My car my fucking speed. My fucking music too.” He said as he slapped his radio on. A CD started to play as heavy metal began to blast throughout the car.
“Nice song.” Y/n complimented.
“Fuck yeah it is.” He said.
The rest of the car ride was filled with Kyotani’s music. It seemed like hours but really it was such a short time. Kyotani pulled up to the view point where you and Tendou shared the deep and personal things the night you told him you liked him. He got out of the car as he walked around and ripped your door open. “Get the fuck out. Over there.” He pointed to what you now noticed was Tendou leaning up against a bike. It was dark, but he looked absolutely stunning in the moonlight. Y/n’s breath hitched as she approached him.
A car pulled up with Terushima standing from the sun roof.
“Don’t fuck this up Guess!” He yelled as Kyotani hopped in and the other four monsters sped off.
The two who were now completely alone laughed at the previous situation they just saw..
“Hey Y/n.” He said as he passed you something from his pocket.
“What’s this for?” She asked as she took it.
“The car key if you want to leave at any time.”
“Oh.” She said as she looked at it closer.
“I am sorry to bring you all the way out here, but I promise it will make sense if you are willing to hear me out.”
“Satori, I just want us to be okay.” He looked her in the eyes.
“I have something I wrote down. So please,” He began to say. Y/n had never heard his voice sound so fragile. “I’m not always great with this shit.”
“It’s okay, take your time.” She said as she gave him a small smile. He pulled the paper ball  from his pocket. It was crumpled and torn around the edges when he pulled it open. He took a deep breath before he began to read.
“I love the way you laugh and how it can instantly change my sour mood,
I love the way you treat your friends and the strangers on the streets,
I love the way you hold yourself and how you never back down even when others would,
I love the way I feel when your hands are in mine.
I love the way you take my breath away and make me feel safe,
I love the way you show me how much you care even through the little things you do,
 I love how you make me feel like I am important again and how much I really mean to you,
I love how your smile lights up your whole face and a whole street block of people can feel the warmth.
I love how you are always willing to try new things, like getting on my bike at 1am angry
I love how you confessed to me and even your angsty poem from class,
But most importantly I love you, not just with a small piece of my heart either,
I would travel any distance, any planet or any galaxy, just to feel your love,
Cause you,
You are my Paradise.”
“Satori,” He noticed the tears in her eyes while he shoved the paper back into his pocket. He wiped her tears away with his thumb. He moved in closer to her as their lips almost touched.
“I’m sorry my poem sucked. I just wanted you to know that I love you Y/n.” He said as he started into her eyes.
“I love you too Satori.” With that they pulled each other in for a passionate kiss.
When the two pulled back for air Tendou looked her in the eyes once again.
“Do you think you could ever forgive me?”
“I had the moment I saw you tonight. I just was worried you would speak to me the same way you did over text.”
“I thought you would hate me by now. Especially after last night?” She laughed.
“I shouldn’t encourage violence, but off the record, damn Satori, my hero in a leather jacket.” It was his turn to laugh now.
“Did Mad tell you what happened exactly?”
“Not really honestly.” He began to tell her about his night. After he was done she told him all the dumb stuff Oikawa tried to pull to get her. The two had a good laugh before Y/n stopped and looked panicked.
“Wait what about the police? Oikawa’s parents?”
“Oh I am sure none of that will be a bother to us now Y/n.”
“Oh? ” He just laughed back pulling her back into a kiss again.
“We should head back to town.”
“Are we going separate or?”
“I can call them if you want to come pick up the car if you want to ride with me?”
“You already know I do.”
As the two were getting ready to leave, they both failed to notice the paper fall out of Tendou’s pocket. The paper now laid on the ground as the two sped off as the paper flipped around, completely blank on the ground.

Dear John: A love letter to the John Wick Movies
Tumblr media
Let me start by saying I am having a John Wick moment, and just an all-round Keanu moment. Occasionally, when I’m at a certain level of stress and/or boredom, my brain will default to thinking about one subject. At the moment that subject is the powerhouse which is Keanu Reeves.
I could go into detail about all the reasons, both psychologically and cinematically for this Keanu phenomenon(keanomenon), but instead I want to tell you about why I love the John Wick movies specifically.
Let’s start with the first movie, John Wick. I first saw this movie in the wrong state of mind. Recently, I watched Movies with Mikey’s review and decided I needed to re-watch John Wick in a better mood. What I hadn’t realised the first time round is just how perfect and self-contained this movie is. In total isolation from the sequels, John Wick tells a simple revenge story clearly and concisely. Just like the titular character, John Wick doesn’t fuck around. The exposition isn’t clunky; you’re told very clearly who everyone is and why they matter. There’s a quick “context montage” explaining Wick’s motivation, and for the emphasis of important lines, subtitles appear on screen to make sure you don’t miss anything. This is one of the things I love about John Wick movies: director Chad Stahelski is not afraid to tell the audience what is going on. A great example of this is the scene in mob nightclub The Red Circle – a scene that is visually busy and potentially confusing for viewers who are tired and just wanted some Keanu goodness to make their bad day better.
This scene comes out of the screen with blue and red hands and holds your attention in a way that is unforgettably stylish. The red and blue in the early “Pool Party” segment of the scene give way to a chaotic mix of purple and green in the club, with flashes of harsh white light when we see Iosef (Wick’s ultimate target in this film, played by king of the fictional assholes Alfie Allen.) Even though the club scene is crowded, Reeves’ eyeline is used to tell us that Wick will not harm civilians, as his gaze searches for and locates the mobsters he’s targeting.
This is combined with top quality sound design. We’re all used to soundtrack dissonance after Guardians of the Galaxy rammed it firmly down the throat of all movies everywhere. It’s refreshing to see music used in a way that simply complements the action. Soft, electro-pop is combined with the stealthy, cat-like killings in the pool area, giving way to loud bass driven club music in (you guessed it) the club. Sound designer Alan Rankin doesn’t let the music mask the violence of the scene, we hear the pained grunts of dispatched henchmen, gunshots puncture the music with gay abandon – the sound design is unflinching, you can’t escape from the action.
These elements come together to create an audiovisual experience that is completely arresting. Reeves creates a character that, in spite of being incredibly violent, is somehow utterly likable. John Wick isn’t complicated; he is a straightforward character with a straightforward motivation. The simplicity of his character is so aggressively compelling you can’t help but root for him. He’s also not infallible. He falls over. He has to reload at awkward moments. When he gets hit, he bruises and when he gets cut he bleeds. Even though by the time you’re halfway through John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum you get the idea that this man has something akin to superhuman strength and magic steel bones, Wick is a far more human action hero than we are usually presented with. This combines with the fact that despite how graceful he looked in the Matrix, Keanu Reeves’ limbs are just a little too long for his body. This results in moments that are almost comically flail-esque, but which endear him to the audience all the more. Just like Wick’s motivation, the message of the movie is simple: look, he’s got a funny run and he’s sad about his dog – root for this guy.
I also can’t write about John Wick without mentioning the late Michael Nyqvist’s incredible performance as mob boss Viggo. As soon as Viggo hears what his son has done, and who he’s done it to – he knows John Wick is coming for him, and he knows he won’t survive, but he has to protect his family. Viggo goes through the motions of protecting Iosef, and as the movie goes on, becomes more physically crumpled. By the final act, he’s laughing as Wick arrives to dispatch him to the underworld. Viggo’s hopelessness is the perfect way to cement Wick’s character as an unstoppable force, the grim reaper of organized crime.
John Wick is a perfect film, and the sequels were never going to be able to compete. That doesn’t mean they’re bad, just different. What I love about Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 – Parabellum is that they almost feel like fan fiction about the character of John Wick. These films, while more chaotic and plot-heavy than the first installment, are clearly made with love by a team who want to work together. Reeves is having the best time playing an unstoppable assassin who just wants to get home to his damn dog, while Director and ex-stuntman Stahelski is putting together action sequences that are the stuff of dreams. The pencil scene in Chapter 2 or the library fight which opens Chapter 3: these films are packed with mad-cap ideas that verge on slapstick, but somehow work perfectly in the universe the films have created. No potential stunt set-up is left unresolved. As soon as you see a series of glass cases full of glass skulls in Chapter 3 you think “Sure would be a shame if someone threw Keanu Reeves through one of those glass cases full of glass skulls”, and the film does not disappoint. This is not Chekov’s gun; this is Chekov’s whole gosh-darned armoury.
These films have action, compelling characters, bizarre aesthetic choices that somehow totally work (I’m looking at you, random control room full of tattooed vintage-styled ladies), and a surprising amount of humour. The dialogue isn’t ground-breaking, but Stahelski has created fight scenes with genuine laughs in, and the odd excellent one-liner. What makes the sequels so enjoyable is that everyone involved seems to be having a great time, Ian McShane is in his element as top-cat Winston, while Halle Berry kicks more ass in her brief Wick appearance than she did in all of the X-Men movies put together.
Keanu Reeves said it best when discussing his horseback fight sequence in Chapter 3: “That’s why we want to go to the movies, to see the fantastical.”

Requiem for Assassins
A/N: A little something I started writing... I'm up to five chapters hand written and two typed but I'm putting out the first chapter... see if the fandom likes it? I get nervous posting my stories since I'm more of an illustrator rather than a writer. Would love feedback for sure!! ~MagickDream
CHAPTER ONE: The Black Lotus
New York, a city full of hustle and bustle of everyday life. Even a year after the defeat of Shredder and Krang, a year after Bebop and Rocksteady were put behind bars; life was back to normal for the citizens of the Big Apple. All thought that with Shredder gone there would be some semblance of peace. That did not seem to be the case what so ever. Karai had managed to slither her way from being apprehended by the police and eagerly kept up with the mantle of leader to the Foot Clan. She was doing everything she could to prepare for the return of their master back to this side of the galaxy with the help of Baxter Stockman. The Foot Clan continued their reign of terror and with that, there came no rest for the unsung heroes of New York. Four brothers, mutant turtles, that stay within the shadows to protect their city. Their home. The events with Krang helped ease the burdens of being detected by the normal people. They now had the complete support of the New York Police Department, a new friend in the former Corrections Officer turned Hockey-masked vigilante and as always they had the continued support of their savior, friend, sister; April O'Neil. Activity still going with the Foot Clan and the rise of a new gang calling themselves Purple Dragons, there was definitely no rest for anyone.
The nightly patrols were a consistency in their lives now, some of those nights yielded complete boredom for them due to lack of anything going on. This night was feeling like one of those nights as the four vigilantes kept watch from atop of one of the many buildings in the city that offered a good view of the streets. Their eyes watching as they waited for something, anything to happen. What they were unaware of at that very moment; they themselves were being watched.
“We’ve got them where we want them, Tanuki. If we don’t do this now they’ll be even harder to find tomorrow night.” A female voice whispered sharply from behind a maroon and white fox mask. She got closer to the edge of the building clad in her maroon and black samurai lookinggear. She looked down seeing the brothers from the advantage point just slightly above them thanks to a higher connected building. A male clad in black and navy blue gear similar to hers gripped her shoulder, his mask that of a raccoon but in the navy and white theme as his clothing.
“Your impatience is starting to wear me thin, Kitsune." His whispered words he knew were harsh yet very stern. His light gray eyes beneath his mask locking on to her bright violet ones. He could almost hear her rolling them. "Just wait a few seconds more and we will strike." "You two keep fighting like that and our marks will bring that fight to us." Another woman leaning against the door that leads to the stairwell for the building was looking at them. Her dark violet eyes seemed pure black in the shadows she kept to, the white and amber wolf mask hiding her facial features. Uncrossing her arms and walking over to the ledge she took a peek at their marks, her amber and black clothing similar to Kitsune but a bit more elegant. "Go easy on them, Ookami. After all the months of surveillance hasn't been kind on any of our nerves." The third female of the group spoke up, her voice came out in a whisper though the tone was more cheery than any of the others had been. That voice came from a figure that stood on top of the ventilation cage to the left of all of them, the plum and black colors of her cutesy outfit made it almost impossible to see her without light. She had her dark gray eyes trained on the four turtles below, her plum and white rabbit mask keeping her face just as hidden as her partners' masks did.
“Cheerful as always, Usagi." Tanuki released Kitsune's shoulder as he got even closer to the edge. For the fifth time since they came to the rooftop, the turtles gathered to the farthest right corner. The only difference this time was the way their body language translated. They were planning to go to another location and within the next few seconds, Tanuki was sure of it.
“Your call, wonder boy.” Kitsune spat out in a harsh whisper using her favorite nickname for their little groups’ leader. She reached behind her to grab a hold of her weapons she had hidden beneath her cloak. Her twin tessen.
“Usagi, get their attention would you?" Tanuki ordered gently as he grabbed up his naginata from its resting place on the ledge.
“As always, I get to start the fun." Usagi reached into the pouch that sat against her right hip, pulling from it four throwing knives. Ookami poised herself as she pulled out her kusarigama she had tucked at the small of her back. With a soft chuckle, Usagi let loose the throwing knives, her aim set at the back of the turtles' feet.
~~~~~~~~~
“I’m tellin’ ya, Leo! Somethin’ ain’t right!” The biggest of the four brothers had been complaining most of the night. There had been something off in his mind every time it was a quiet night. Like they were missing something or were not seeing the whole picture.
“Everything is fine, Raph. It's another quiet night, so let's get moving." The eldest turtle in the blue mask was not about to get into another pointless argument with his red-clad brother. He himself was convinced that tonight was going to be just one more added to the countless nights of peace. Oh, how wrong he was. The sound of metal being buried into the asphalt covered roof made all of them pause.
“You were sayin’?” Raphael sneered at his older brother as they all turned around. The knives that stuck from the pebbles were not at all comforting to the notion of peace. Neither were the four shadows on the rooftop just above their own.
“Get ready. I don't think they're on our side." Leonardo carefully withdrew his two katana before putting himself in a familiar defensive stance.
“Man! Our dinner is going to get cold!” The youngest clad in the orange mask pulled out his set of nunchaku with a teasing whine in his tone.
“Shut up, Mikey!” The three brothers spoke out in unison.
“Why are they just standin' there?!" Raph had been itching for some action all night and with this new challenge, he was becoming even more impatient. He gripped both sai tight in his hands, his teeth clenched.
“Chill, Raph. They’re just trying to get our attention.” The fearless leader glared up at the four shadows; prepared for either a fight or a very interesting exchange of words.
“If that was their only motive why do I get the feeling we’re being played?” The tallest out of the brothers adjusted his grip on his bo staff, making sure to keep his golden green eyes on the ones that were sizing them up.
“What if they're ninjas like us, brah?" Mikey grinned sparing a quick glance to the purple masked brother; that proved to be an almost painful mistake. He quickly deflected the next dagger that was aimed at him with his nunchaku. His baby blue eyes looked to where the four shadows were just in time to watch them leap down, joining him and his brothers on the same roof.
“Insults like that can get you killed, Michelangelo.” One of them spoke as the group moved toward the light. The way their gear looked slightly confused the youngest of the turtles. They had the whole Ninja vibe going with the weapon choices, the masks and the outfits they were wearing. Ookami had been the one who spoken first while Usagi had taken full advantage of Mikey’s lapse in judgment. “Granted, none of you will be leaving this rooftop alive.”
“Just how do you know his name?!” Leo shifted closer to Mikey taking note that both Raph and Donnie did the same. His eyes caught the movement of the four in front of them mirroring the movements like they were stalking prey.
"It isn't just his name that we know, Leonardo." The man in the raccoon mask had spoken up this time, which by the tone and the way he was carrying himself, Leo, figured that he was the leader.
“For fuck's sake can we drop the small talk?!” Fox girl seemed like a short fuse as she brought her hands from behind her back. With a pop of her wrists the bladed fans opened, the metallic riveting sound they made emphasized her intent. “We got their attention what more do you want, Tanuki?!”
“Ain't you a piece of work.” Raphael had his eyes set on the girl in the fox mask. Her attitude was something similar to his own. Actually, damn near the exact same as his.
“Rude much, Kitsune?” The one that looked like a bunny had more knives in her hands. “What fun would it be to kill them off quickly? We could at least play with them for a little while first.”
“Or you could tell us why you're trying to kill us in the first place. Are you working for the Foot Clan?” Donatello had not seen any of the usual tattoos denoting the Purple Dragons or even a Foot Emblem either anywhere on their clothing. He quickly spun his bo, knocking a throwing dagger off course.
"Didn't Ookami just say insults could get you killed, Donatello?" Usagi's voice was seeming a bit too sweet to be a cold-blooded killer. That's when Donnie really looked them over. The shape of their hoods, the emblems that were a connecting point for their sashes; should have all been a dead give away but only if someone were a huge fan of that particular franchise.
“Code name. Hooded robes. I'm going to make an assumption you all have wrist blades hidden in those kimono sleeves.” The purple clad turtle was trying to give his brothers a helpful hint or two about who they were dealing with.
"Woah! No way!" Of course, the game nut would be the first to catch on. "You guys are Assassins! Sweet!" Mikey was proud that he was able to get something right on the first guess and he may have played the games on too many times.
"Give that turtle a cookie!" Ookami laughed which only made the other three Assassins groan out. She looked at them and shrugged, feigning complete innocence. "What?"
“I'm done with the warm and fuzzy crap! We end this now one way or another!” Kitsune growled out and hastily ran towards the four brothers.
“Finally, some action!” Raphael was all too eager to greet the Assassin's hotheadedness with some of his own.
"Kitsune, stop!" Tanuki knew that his orders weren't going to work on her now, she was too angry with all of the waiting around. He rushed in after her as he saw not only Raphael advancing on her but Leonardo was joining in with his brother. He managed to swing his naginata in time to catch the twin katana that were about to slice into Kitsune's side. Kitsune had been able to block out both of Raph's sai but was taken by complete surprise as he kept rushing her, giving her no choice but to back peddle. The battle officially kicked off as each of the Assassins squared off with one of the brothers. Usagi kept the distance in her favor staying as far from Donatello's bo staff as she could while still keeping him on his toes with her throwing knives.
“It really is too bad we have to kill you and your brothers. You're pretty damn cute, Donatello.” Usagi was toying with him, trying to get him to not focus as much which she had a feeling it would not work on him.
“Exactly why do you have to kill us?” He was not at all surprised at how quick and agile she was. The rabbit mask definitely fit her. With each step he took to get closer she was leaping away.
“Don't you say a word, Usagi!” Kitsune groaned out as her back slammed against the side of the building they had jumped from. Her tessen were closed and hooked in Raph's sai as he kept her against the wall.
“Aw, is the little fox having trouble with her mouse?” Usagi giggled out as she jumped to the ledge above the both of them. She had been a little too careless teasing Kitsune which bought Donnie enough time to get up to the ledge and behind her. He put his bo over her head and pulled her back against him, cutting off her oxygen as he pressed the weapon to her throat.
"Damn it, Usagi!" Kitsune growled softly and brought her head back down so she could keep an eye on Raph. "Tanuki! Ookami! A little help here?!"
"A little busy, Kitsune!" Ookami was keeping Michelangelo at bay with the use of her kusarigama cursing every time he would bat away the chain with one of his nunchakus.
“Come on.” Mikey teased her in a sing-song voice knowing she was getting frustrated fighting him. “Just tell us why you're wanting to kill us and Donnie will let the little bunny go.” He was actually having fun with this. Well, it beat having to be bored on another event-less patrol any day.
“Excuse me? Little!” Usagi yelled out before she grabbed a hold of the bo. She did not give the poor turtle behind her a second before she launched him down to his red masked brother below. Kitsune rolled out of the way the second she felt Raph's focus falter and she had to bite back the laugh seeing both Donatello and Raphael now trying to untangle themselves. Usagi jumped down and stood next to the fox masked woman, leaning against her. A second later laughter rang out from the two women as Michelangelo joined the pile having been kicked there by Ookami.
“Man, we did not just get our asses kicked by girls!” Raphael sat up pushing his brothers off of him but his eyes widened seeing Leonardo now flying right at them. Tanuki had been able to use the dull end of his naginata to send the fearless leader off his feet. The four Assassins surrounded the brothers ready to carry out their mission.
“This is a simple act of revenge for the family you destroyed!” Tanuki pointed the blade of his naginata right at Leo's face, the anger in his voice heard loud and clear. “Murderers don't get the luxury of long lives.” “Dude! We've been called a lot of things but, murderers hasn't been one!” Mikey rubbed the back of his head but he stiffened as the blade of the kusarigama Ookami wielded as right at his jaw, the tip pressing uncomfortably against the skin.
“Do not lie!” She spat out the words like venom. Her patience was beginning to wear thin which was a rare thing for her. “Thirteen years ago you four killed our parents and set our home on fire!”
“For cryin' out loud lady, it ain't us!” Raph growled and was not too happy that fox girl had her bladed fan open and at his throat.
“What proof do you have that it wasn't you, Raphael?” She growled softly wanting so much to slice his neck wide open.
"How 'bout the fact we're eighteen!" He grabbed a hold of her wrist since she had got so carelessly close and he pulled her down easily getting her into a headlock. He and his brothers managed to move away from the other three Assassins as Raph kept a tight grip on Kitsune. When he felt her shift her weight he grabbed a hold of the wrist that was trying to connect to his temple and that's when he saw the hidden wrist blade. "You don't know when to give up do ya?"
“Part of my charm.” She winced feeling his grip around her neck tighten.
“Let her go.” Tanuki put himself in a stance and bit back a curse seeing the turtles were not backing down on this.
"Tanuki, was it? Can you honestly tell me you saw four six-foot talking turtles come in the middle of the night just to kill your parents and torch your home? We'd be kind of hard to miss." Leo did not falter from his stance but he sighed out wanting to at least get some kind of headway in all of this. "Raph, ease up. Let the poor woman breathe at least."
"Ch' fine." He loosened his arm hold on Kitsune's neck and smirked hearing her gasping for air. He had not really noticed how tight he had gripped her. Taking the wrist he had a hold of he placed it behind her back toward the middle of her shoulder blades. Feeling her wince he knew he got the point across for her not to try anything.
“Alright, you've made your point.” Tanuki eased his stance placing his naginata at his side in a completely rested position. “Stand down girls.”
“Aw, so we're done toying with them?” Usagi chuckled as she put the knives she had in her hands back in the pouches on her hips. “Looks like it's your lucky night, boys.”
"Usagi, don't be an airhead." Ookami, let out a chuckle as she put her kusarigama in the holder at the small of her back. "Look we had to give you some kind of reason to attack you. We had to see for ourselves how good you guys are, so we could see if you would be able to help us. Soon as we got the marks for you and were told you guys were responsible for what happened to our parents, we did the math ourselves.” “Wait a minute. You want our help? Help with what?” Mikey was completely confused. “Can you guys take off the masks? Your faces are hard to read and they're creepin' me out a little.” “This sounds like it's going to take a while to sort out. Maybe we should take this off of the rooftops?” Donnie was pretty certain that they were not in the safer parts of town.
“Donnie's got a point.” Leo was trying to think of another place they could all go, somewhere they would not be interrupted.
"Put me down." Kitsune had her head tilted slightly upward toward the red-clad turtle's face. She had figured when the weapons were being put away he would have let her go but seeing that not being the case she was starting to get pissed off again.
“You gonna try an' hit me again?” He raised a brow ridge at the woman he held on to and he smirked seeing the look in her eyes. He knew that look because he's given it all too often. “Yeah, you're gonna try an' hit me again. We're good right 'ere.” “Raphael, I would put her down befo-” Tanuki did not even finish the sentence having heard a soft whistle sound. He saw the dart come from the right and was heading straight for Raphael.
"Look out!" Kitsune growled as she kicked up blocking the dart with the side of her knee, taking it from the intended target of Raph's neck. She groaned plucking the thing off with her free hand when she put it in range. A wince came next when she realized the arm that had been forced behind her back had dislocated from her trick. She glared up at Raphael. "Put. Me. Down."
“Alright.” Raph was grateful to her for blocking the dart so he sat her back on her feet. He could see the arm he had a hold of was now dislocated which made him feel a little bad but he was caught off guard when she stumbled a little. “Hey, woah. What's wrong?”
“Nothing. We've got bigger problems now. Looks like you guys have a Foot Clan infestation too.” Kitsune grabbed up both of her tessen from the ground making sure to put one away for now as they became completely surrounded. “Yo, Ookami!”
“What now?!” She caught the dart Kitsune tossed at her and her eyes widened. “You've got about ten minutes before you're completely knocked out, Kitsune.”
“Thanks. I just need five.”
"Or you could sit this one out and let us deal with these jackasses." Raphael had his sai out again and moved in front of Kitsune all but ready to fight again.
“You four are coming with us.” One of the Foot Clan members leveled their tranquilizer gun toward Tanuki who was none too happy with being surrounded. “Either willingly or unconscious your choice; Black Lotus Assassins.”
TMNT:: Requiem for Assassins
Tumblr media
CHAPTER ONE: The Black Lotus
New York, a city full of hustle and bustle of everyday life. Even a year after the defeat of Shredder and Krang, a year after Bebop and Rocksteady were put behind bars; life was back to normal for the citizens of the Big Apple. All thought that with Shredder gone there would be some semblance of peace. That did not seem to be the case what so ever. Karai had managed to slither her way from being apprehended by the police and eagerly kept up with the mantle of leader to the Foot Clan. She was doing everything she could to prepare for the return of their master back to this side of the galaxy with the help of Baxter Stockman. The Foot Clan continued their reign of terror and with that, there came no rest for the unsung heroes of New York. Four brothers, mutant turtles, that stay within the shadows to protect their city. Their home. The events with Krang helped ease the burdens of being detected by the normal people. They now had the complete support of the New York Police Department, a new friend in the former Corrections Officer turned Hockey-masked vigilante and as always they had the continued support of their savior, friend, sister; April O'Neil. Activity still going with the Foot Clan and the rise of a new gang calling themselves Purple Dragons, there was definitely no rest for anyone.
The nightly patrols were a consistency in their lives now, some of those nights yielded complete boredom for them due to lack of anything going on. This night was feeling like one of those nights as the four vigilantes kept watch from atop of one of the many buildings in the city that offered a good view of the streets. Their eyes watching as they waited for something, anything to happen. What they were unaware of at that very moment; they themselves were being watched.
“We’ve got them where we want them, Tanuki. If we don’t do this now they’ll be even harder to find tomorrow night.” A female voice whispered sharply from behind a maroon and white fox mask. She got closer to the edge of the building clad in her maroon and black samurai looking gear. She looked down seeing the brothers from the advantage point just slightly above them thanks to a higher connected building. A male clad in black and navy blue gear similar to hers gripped her shoulder, his mask that of a raccoon but in the navy and white theme as his clothing.
“Your impatience is starting to wear me thin, Kitsune." His whispered words he knew were harsh yet very stern. His light gray eyes beneath his mask locking on to her bright violet ones. He could almost hear her rolling them. "Just wait a few seconds more and we will strike."
"You two keep fighting like that and our marks will bring that fight to us." Another woman leaning against the door that leads to the stairwell for the building was looking at them. Her dark violet eyes seemed pure black in the shadows she kept to, the white and amber wolf mask hiding her facial features. Uncrossing her arms and walking over to the ledge she took a peek at their marks, her amber and black clothing similar to Kitsune but a bit more elegant.
"Go easy on them, Ookami. After all the months of surveillance hasn't been kind on any of our nerves." The third female of the group spoke up, her voice came out in a whisper though the tone was more cheery than any of the others had been. That voice came from a figure that stood on top of the ventilation cage to the left of all of them, the plum and black colors of her cutesy outfit made it almost impossible to see her without light. She had her dark gray eyes trained on the four turtles below, her plum and white rabbit mask keeping her face just as hidden as her partners' masks did.
“Cheerful as always, Usagi." Tanuki released Kitsune's shoulder as he got even closer to the edge. For the fifth time since they came to the rooftop, the turtles gathered to the farthest right corner. The only difference this time was the way their body language translated. They were planning to go to another location and within the next few seconds, Tanuki was sure of it.
“Your call, wonder boy.” Kitsune spat out in a harsh whisper using her favorite nickname for their little groups’ leader. She reached behind her to grab a hold of her weapons she had hidden beneath her cloak. Her twin tessen.
“Usagi, get their attention would you?" Tanuki ordered gently as he grabbed up his naginata from its resting place on the ledge.
“As always, I get to start the fun." Usagi reached into the pouch that sat against her right hip, pulling from it four throwing knives. Ookami poised herself as she pulled out her kusarigama she had tucked at the small of her back. With a soft chuckle, Usagi let loose the throwing knives, her aim set at the back of the turtles' feet.
“I’m tellin’ ya, Leo! Somethin’ ain’t right!” The biggest of the four brothers had been complaining most of the night. There had been something off in his mind every time it was a quiet night. Like they were missing something or were not seeing the whole picture.
“Everything is fine, Raph. It's another quiet night, so let's get moving." The eldest turtle in the blue mask was not about to get into another pointless argument with his red-clad brother. He himself was convinced that tonight was going to be just one more added to the countless nights of peace. Oh, how wrong he was. The sound of metal being buried into the asphalt covered roof made all of them pause.
“You were sayin’?” Raphael sneered at his older brother as they all turned around. The knives that stuck from the pebbles were not at all comforting to the notion of peace. Neither were the four shadows on the rooftop just above their own.
“Get ready. I don't think they're on our side." Leonardo carefully withdrew his two katana before putting himself in a familiar defensive stance.
“Man! Our dinner is going to get cold!” The youngest clad in the orange mask pulled out his set of nunchaku with a teasing whine in his tone.
“Shut up, Mikey!” The three brothers spoke out in unison.
“Why are they just standin' there?!" Raph had been itching for some action all night and with this new challenge, he was becoming even more impatient. He gripped both sai tight in his hands, his teeth clenched.
“Chill, Raph. They’re just trying to get our attention.” The fearless leader glared up at the four shadows; prepared for either a fight or a very interesting exchange of words.
“If that was their only motive why do I get the feeling we’re being played?” The tallest out of the brothers adjusted his grip on his bo staff, making sure to keep his golden green eyes on the ones that were sizing them up.
“What if they're ninjas like us, brah?" Mikey grinned sparing a quick glance to the purple masked brother; that proved to be an almost painful mistake. He quickly deflected the next dagger that was aimed at him with his nunchaku. His baby blue eyes looked to where the four shadows were just in time to watch them leap down, joining him and his brothers on the same roof.
“Insults like that can get you killed, Michelangelo.” One of them spoke as the group moved toward the light. The way their gear looked slightly confused the youngest of the turtles. They had the whole Ninja vibe going with the weapon choices, the masks and the outfits they were wearing. Ookami had been the one who spoken first while Usagi had taken full advantage of Mikey’s lapse in judgment. “Granted, none of you will be leaving this rooftop alive.”
“Just how do you know his name?!” Leo shifted closer to Mikey taking note that both Raph and Donnie did the same. His eyes caught the movement of the four in front of them mirroring the movements like they were stalking prey.
"It isn't just his name that we know, Leonardo." The man in the raccoon mask had spoken up this time, which by the tone and the way he was carrying himself, Leo, figured that he was the leader.
“For fuck's sake can we drop the small talk?!” Fox girl seemed like a short fuse as she brought her hands from behind her back. With a pop of her wrists the bladed fans opened, the metallic riveting sound they made emphasized her intent. “We got their attention what more do you want, Tanuki?!”
“Ain't you a piece of work.” Raphael had his eyes set on the girl in the fox mask. Her attitude was something similar to his own. Actually, damn near the exact same as his.
“Rude much, Kitsune?” The one that looked like a bunny had more knives in her hands. “What fun would it be to kill them off quickly? We could at least play with them for a little while first.”
“Or you could tell us why you're trying to kill us in the first place. Are you working for the Foot Clan?” Donatello had not seen any of the usual tattoos denoting the Purple Dragons or even a Foot Emblem either anywhere on their clothing. He quickly spun his bo, knocking a throwing dagger off course.
"Didn't Ookami just say insults could get you killed, Donatello?" Usagi's voice was seeming a bit too sweet to be a cold-blooded killer. That's when Donnie really looked them over. The shape of their hoods, the emblems that were a connecting point for their sashes; should have all been a dead give away but only if someone were a huge fan of that particular franchise.
“Code name. Hooded robes. I'm going to make an assumption you all have wrist blades hidden in those kimono sleeves.” The purple clad turtle was trying to give his brothers a helpful hint or two about who they were dealing with.
"Woah! No way!" Of course, the game nut would be the first to catch on. "You guys are Assassins! Sweet!" Mikey was proud that he was able to get something right on the first guess and he may have played the games on too many times.
"Give that turtle a cookie!" Ookami laughed which only made the other three Assassins groan out. She looked at them and shrugged, feigning complete innocence. "What?"
“I'm done with the warm and fuzzy crap! We end this now one way or another!” Kitsune growled out and hastily ran towards the four brothers.
“Finally, some action!” Raphael was all too eager to greet the Assassin's hotheadedness with some of his own.
"Kitsune, stop!" Tanuki knew that his orders weren't going to work on her now, she was too angry with all of the waiting around. He rushed in after her as he saw not only Raphael advancing on her but Leonardo was joining in with his brother. He managed to swing his naginata in time to catch the twin katana that were about to slice into Kitsune's side. Kitsune had been able to block out both of Raph's sai but was taken by complete surprise as he kept rushing her, giving her no choice but to back peddle. The battle officially kicked off as each of the Assassins squared off with one of the brothers. Usagi kept the distance in her favor staying as far from Donatello's bo staff as she could while still keeping him on his toes with her throwing knives.
“It really is too bad we have to kill you and your brothers. You're pretty damn cute, Donatello.” Usagi was toying with him, trying to get him to not focus as much which she had a feeling it would not work on him.
“Exactly why do you have to kill us?” He was not at all surprised at how quick and agile she was. The rabbit mask definitely fit her. With each step he took to get closer she was leaping away.
“Don't you say a word, Usagi!” Kitsune groaned out as her back slammed against the side of the building they had jumped from. Her tessen were closed and hooked in Raph's sai as he kept her against the wall.
“Aw, is the little fox having trouble with her mouse?” Usagi giggled out as she jumped to the ledge above the both of them. She had been a little too careless teasing Kitsune which bought Donnie enough time to get up to the ledge and behind her. He put his bo over her head and pulled her back against him, cutting off her oxygen as he pressed the weapon to her throat.
"Damn it, Usagi!" Kitsune growled softly and brought her head back down so she could keep an eye on Raph. "Tanuki! Ookami! A little help here?!"
"A little busy, Kitsune!" Ookami was keeping Michelangelo at bay with the use of her kusarigama cursing every time he would bat away the chain with one of his nunchakus.
“Come on.” Mikey teased her in a sing-song voice knowing she was getting frustrated fighting him. “Just tell us why you're wanting to kill us and Donnie will let the little bunny go.” He was actually having fun with this. Well, it beat having to be bored on another event-less patrol any day.
“Do not lie!” She spat out the words like venom. Her patience was beginning to wear thin which was a rare thing for her. “Thirteen years ago you four killed our parents and set our home on fire!”
“For cryin' out loud lady, it ain't us!” Raph growled and was not too happy that fox girl had her bladed fan open and at his throat.
“What proof do you have that it wasn't you, Raphael?” She growled softly wanting so much to slice his neck wide open.
"How 'bout the fact we're eighteen!" He grabbed a hold of her wrist since she had got so carelessly close and he pulled her down easily getting her into a headlock. He and his brothers managed to move away from the other three Assassins as Raph kept a tight grip on Kitsune. “Part of my charm.” She winced feeling his grip around her neck tighten.
“Let her go.” Tanuki put himself in a stance and bit back a curse seeing the turtles were not backing down on this.
"Tanuki, was it? Can you honestly tell me you saw four six-foot talking turtles come in the middle of the night just to kill your parents and torch your home? We'd be kind of hard to miss." Leo did not falter from his stance but he sighed out wanting to at least get some kind of headway in all of this. "Raph, ease up. Let the poor woman breathe at least."
“Donnie's got a point.” Leo was trying to think of another place they could all go, somewhere they would not be interrupted.
"Put me down." Kitsune had her head tilted slightly upward toward the red-clad turtle's face. She had figured when the weapons were being put away he would have let her go but seeing that not being the case she was starting to get pissed off again.
“You gonna try an' hit me again?” He raised a brow ridge at the woman he held on to and he smirked seeing the look in her eyes. He knew that look because he's given it all too often. “Yeah, you're gonna try an' hit me again. We're good right 'ere.”
“Raphael, I would put her down befo-” Tanuki did not even finish the sentence having heard a soft whistle sound. He saw the dart come from the right and was heading straight for Raphael.
"Look out!" Kitsune growled as she kicked up blocking the dart with the side of her knee, taking it from the intended target of Raph's neck. She groaned plucking the thing off with her free hand when she put it in range. A wince came next when she realized the arm that had been forced behind her back had dislocated from her trick. “You four are coming with us.” One of the Foot Clan members leveled their tranquilizer gun toward Tanuki who was none too happy with being surrounded. “Either willingly or unconscious your choice; Black Lotus Assassins.”
Marvel Phase 4  has been announced at San Diego Comic Con and we are ecstatic! The next phase of the latest set of Marvel films introduces us to five new series on Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+, a new Blade, as Mahershalah Ali has been cast in the role of the half-vampire superhero, sequels to Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Doctor Stranger, Guardians of The Galaxy, and Thor, movies based on The Eternals, Black Widow, Shang-Chi, and the Fantastic Four, and mutants finally joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
#gallery-0-13 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-13 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-13 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-13 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
The blerd in us is screaming at the above mentioned news as even more superheroes are coming to the screen. The Disney+ shows will feature shows based on Hawkeye, Captain America & Falcon, Loki, The Scarlet Witch & Vision (WandaVision), and What If? The latter will be animated and is based off the line of Marvel Comics of the same name showing what would happen if certain heroes or villains made other decisions in events, instead of what we originally saw play out.
#gallery-0-14 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-14 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-14 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-14 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
The news of Mahershalah’s casting as Blade is genius. He has the look, build, and acting chops to be the vampire bad ass we grew to know and love in the late nineties and early 2000s. His inclusion with Doctor Strange shows Marvel is definitely including the supernatural and more magic in their roster. This is not Mahershalah’s first bout in the MCU, however, as he portrayed the crime lord, Cottonmouth in Netflix’s Luke Cage during its first season. In other casting news for Marvel, Natalie Portman has been cast as the female Thor! As you may recall, a couple of years ago in the comics Thor became unworthy to wield Mjolnir and Jane Foster (Natalie’s character, and Thor’s original love interest) was worthy and became the new Thor! This should all play out in Thor: Love & Thunder! Perhaps there will be a love triangle between he, Valkyrie, and Jane–if the former is not cast completely as a lesbian, but bisexual instead.
#gallery-0-15 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-15 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-15 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-15 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
We are not surprised to hear that Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Doctor Stranger, Guardians of The Galaxy, and Thor are getting sequels. Each of these characters are now headliners in the MCU, especially with the retirement of Captain America (Steve Rogers) and the demise of Iron Man and Black Widow in Avengers: Endgame. Black Widow’s standalone film will be a prequel and The Eternals is a new film altogether that may explain Thanos’ origins and introduce us to characters like Mentor (Thanos’ father), Eros (Thanos’ brother), and Sersi. The latter two are know Avengers in the comics.
Perhaps the most anticipated news of the new phase is the mention of the Fantastic Four being introduced, along with the introduction of mutants. Retconning the Fantastic Four’s origins and adding them to the MCU should be easy. The mutants, however, are a different thing. Even if mutants are just now being discovered, how do we explain older mutants like Wolverine, Magneto, and Professor X sitting out the cataclysms the Avengers have protected the world from? All in all, we are so excited about the future of the MCU! What do you guys think? Sound off in the comments section below.
MARVEL PHASE 4: Mahershalah Ali Cast as “Blade,” Natalie Portman Cast as “Female Thor,” Sequels, New Disney+ Shows, Mutants, & The Fantastic Four! Without further delay, here are the best Android games available right now!
Looking for more awesome games? Check these out!
10 best new Android games from January 2018!
Android gaming is getting bigger and better every month it seems and there is always a slew of new titles coming to Google Play. Whether you’re a casual gamer or you want something with a …
15 best free Android games of 2018!
We all know that free Android games aren’t always free these days, but many of them are very close if you have a little patience. Most Freemium bottlenecks occur when players get impatient and waiting …
Crashland was released in 2016 and it’s already among the best Android games ever made. It features an intergalactic trucker that ends up crash landed on an alien planet. Your job is to find out what’s going on, build yourself a base, collect various items (and craft them), and save the world from a nefarious plot. It has an RPG element for character development, tons of items that you can collect and craft, and the game makes itself easier by doing things like auto-sorting your inventory. It’s a ton of fun and contains dozens of hours of content. The best part? There are no in-app purchases to get in the way.
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft
Price: Free with in-app purchases
Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft flew on to the scene in late 2014 and it’s been one of the best Android games ever since. It’s a concept that is similar to games like Pokemon or Magic: The Gathering where you collect cards, build decks, and the duel other players using those decks. There are some offline components. However, all the multiplayer duels are online. You can also engage with cloud saving via battle.net which will allow you to play the game on your PC or mobile device interchangeably. It has new expansions coming frequently and that helps keep things fresh. This one has been around for a while. It’s mature, there aren’t many bugs, and there are tons of people playing.
Minecraft
Price: $6.99 with in-app purchases
Minecraft is a popular game all around the world for people of all ages. For those who have never played, Minecraft puts you in a giant world where you mine stuff, build stuff, beat up bad guys, and do pretty much whatever you want. There is a survival mode where you must mine your own resources and food along with a creative mode that gives you unlimited everything. Frequent updates have added tons of new content and possibilities. The game is pretty much on par with its PC and console counterparts. In fact, you can play on multiplayer servers with people on those platforms. Nifty. There are in-app purchases, but they’re usually just for customization things like skin packs.
Monument Valley 1 and 2
Price: $3.99-$4.99 each / $1.99 for DLC
Monument Valley returns to the list with the release of Monument Valley 2. Both games are still very excellent. In fact, they both have virtually identical game play mechanics and graphics. The player adventures through Escher-style puzzles where levels are movable to complete the path using illusions. The premise is still charming and the Monument Valley franchise continues to stand as a couple of the best mobile games ever. The first one runs for $3.99 with an optional $1.99 in-app purchase for the Forgotten Shores DLC. The second game runs for $4.99 right now.
Noodlecake Studios
Price: Varies
Noodlecake Studios is one of the most unique developers of Android games. Their titles are vast and varied. Some excellent titles from this studio include Framed 1 and 2 for puzzle games, Alto’s Adventure for infinite runners, realMyst and its sequel for more hardcore puzzle fans, Wayward Souls for action-adventure fans, Island Delta for shooter fans, Mikey Shorts for platform fans, and many more. We also really liked Lumino City for its uniqueness. Their games run the gambit from freemium to pay-once. They have some clunkers, but most of their titles are very good. Hit the button above to check out their collection.
Yep, here are even more excellent Android games!
15 best non-Freemium Android games
Freemium games hit Android like a dump truck. It allowed apps and games to go free with users paying money later if they chose to and it’s been a model that has been dominant. Freemium …
15 best free Android games with no in app purchases
It’s true that the very best Android games cost money. Unfortunately, not everyone has money to spend. There are many reasons why this can be the case, but suffice it to say that there is …
Pokemon Go
Price: Free with in-app purchases
Pokemon Go exploded onto the mobile gaming scene in July 2016 and immediately became of the best Android games ever. It’s an augmented reality game similar to Ingress where you walk around the real world, catch Pokemon, battle for Gyms, and hit up Pokestops to restock on items. It beat virtually every record in the books as the world’s most popular mobile game. Thanksfully, the game gets frequent updates. The updates add limited time events, new Pokemon, and new mechanics. It’s not the same game that came out in 2016. Its evolution will continue as long as Niantic wants it to.
Riptide GP series
Price: $2.99
The Riptide GP games are perhaps the best racers available in all of Android gaming. The latest title is Riptide GP Renegade. In this one, you’ll play as a racer who loses their credentials after getting caught in an illegal street race. You’ll battle your way back to the top from there. The game features good graphics, simple controls, fun tricks, and a boost system to help you gain an edge. Perhaps the best part about Renegade is that it’s a pay-once game so there are no ads and no in-app purchases to screw things up. In fact, all three games in the series so far have been pay-once, although Riptide GP2 does have optional in-app purchases if you want to max out your stuff faster (which you can do yourself with a bit of grinding).
Rockstar Games titles
Price: Varies
Rockstar Games has a fairly decent selection of games. Some of them are ports and others are made-for-mobile titles. On the port side of things, you have classic games like Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas. Topping that off is Bully, an open world adventure game that revolves around a school student. They also have Max Payne Mobile, GTA: Liberty City Stories, and GTA: Chinatown Wars. Rockstar has always had a good reputation for creating fun, open world games and that holds true on mobile as well.
Rollercoaster Tycoon
Price: $5.99 / $5.99
Rollercoaster Tycoon is a port of the classic PC game from way back when. It’s one of one of the few simulation games that isn’t riddled with in-app purchases. For those who don’t know, the game will have you building amusement parks. You must design each park, build rollercoasters, set up shops, and figure out ways to bring people in, keep them happy, and keep spending their money. The original purchase comes with the entire base game along with Rollercoaster Tycoon 2. Additional DLC packs are available as in-app purchases.
Square Enix games
Price: Varies
Square Enix is one of the few “big name” developers that took mobile gaming seriously from the start and they have some of the best Android games available anywhere. Fans of jRPG games have remakes of Final Fantasy 1-7 and 9, seven Dragon Quest games, Chrono Trigger, and the Chaos Rings series to play and they’re all really good. Hitman: Sniper, the original Tomb Raider, Deus Ex Go, and Lara Croft Go round out a decent selection of puzzle games. You have Heavenstrike Rivals and Final Fantasy Tactics: WotL for tactical RPGs, Secret of Mana for an action RPG, and the Deus Ex series for strategy shooter enthusiasts. Even their freemium efforts, such as Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Mobius Final Fantasy are pretty good.
Seriously, there are tons of great Android games. Like this:
15 best RPGs for Android
RPGs have one of the most loyal followings of any gaming genre. Whether it’s Final Fantasy or World of Warcraft, people spend dozens of hours crafting characters, playing story lines, and enjoying themselves. RPGs were …
15 best action games for Android!
Action games are among the most popular on any platform. They get the blood pumping, the fingers moving, and it’s a great way to test your reflexes and wits. There are a variety of action …
Telltale Games
Price: Varies
Telltale Games are the undisputed masters of the episodic adventure game genre and they have the chops to prove it. They have several games in their arsenal right now and they are The Walking Dead seasons 1,2, and 3 along with the standalone Michonne game, Game of Thrones, Tales from the Borderlands, two Batman games, a Guardians of the Galaxy game, The Wolf Among Us, and Minecraft: Story Mode. These games all revolve around similar point and click mechanics. They also have stories that change based on player decisions. Each game has five total episodes. You get the first one upon downloading. The rest are available as in-app purchases. Some of their newer games had rough starts, though, so do beware of that.
The Room series
Price: Varies
The Room is a trio of puzzle games and among the first that did it really well. The latest game in The Room series is just as big of a hit as its predecessors and they remain among the best Android games. The Room is a series of escape puzzle games. Each room has bunch of mysterious objects. Your goal is to solve the puzzles and get out. You progress from room to room to find even more unique objects and solve their puzzles until you win the game. The third one includes cloud saving, multiple profiles, alternate endings, and the same beautiful puzzles and graphics that drove people to play the first two titles. There are also no in-app purchases.
This War of Mine
Price: $14.99
This War of Mine is so good that we awarded it the best game released in 2015. In this survival game, you lead a crew of civilians in a city torn apart by war. You’re tasked with making difficult decisions that have heart wrenching results with survival being the key. It comes with good graphics, plenty of content, and a hefty price tag with no in-app purchases. You start your play at night or during the day. Each play will bring you something a little different. It’s one of the deeper Android games that can really get the emotions going.
Unkilled
Price: Free with in-app purchases
UNKILLED is the latest zombie shooter from MADFINGER Games, the same developers that brought us such Android games as Dead Trigger 2 and Shadowngun. In fact, UNKILLED has replaced Dead Trigger 2 as the best zombie shooter on Android right now. It features great graphics, over 300 missions to complete with boss fights, various weapons and things to unlock and upgrade, online PvP modes, and the graphics get even better if you’re using a Tegra X1 device. There is also a push from developers to make the PvP more expansive and enjoyable. Yes, it’s a freemium game but it’s a definitely a good one.
Vainglory
Price: Free with in-app purchases
Vainglory is probably the best MOBA available on Android. It features a large cast of characters along with a fairly traditional MOBA experience. You’ll have your typical three lanes that you’ll need to attack or defend along with two teammates. You can play with or against real people or bots if you want to. The performance is top notch and there are over two dozen characters that you can unlock. There are also no energy bars or other freemium hoops to jump through. There is also a beta available that can use the Vulkan API, although it’s not quite stable yet.
Thank you for reading! Here are a couple of final lists for you to check out!
Best Android game controllers
While the vast majority of Android games are designed with the touchscreen in mind, the reality is that there are certain times when using a traditional controller just makes more sense. This applies particularly to …
I just recently hit lvl 72 on galaxy of heroes which is the next ‘new round’ level on lots of the challenges, and also just recently unlocked salty grandpa
and?? did u kno?? he counts as a support? wtf?
my healer/support group is sadly lacking as a whole since i strongly favor attackers and tanks, so I was really surprised by this!!! I’ve faced Dooku a lot and despite never being terribly impressed by him, I never realized he counted as a support unit.
too bad i can’t do anything about it. I recently drained all my reserves dry while I was boosting up my rebels team (and still couldn’t activate the emperor because my guys just don’t have a lot of stars lmao) - not that i had deep reserves in the first place, since I’ve been focusing solely on getting shards for Anakin and Barriss. I’ve also been working on getting shards to upgrade Rey, and red silk pajama man. That eats up pretty much all the energy i get in a day tbh.
a moment of pity for my consular. I keep dumping him over shinier units. I think for a couple of days there I was actually working to upgrade him to a new star level, but - there’s just not enough energy in the day.
Also I’ve obtained Cad Bane ( :\ ) and Zam Wessel to have a scoundrel team for those special events that require it. I’ve?? actually gotten really attached to Zam, for obvious reasons, I think. Zam, Jyn and Leia have been eating up my other currencies because shards, along with the Rebel Scariff Pathfinder.
Dooku, salty grandpa who is adamant about not being here dammit. it is w/ MUCH REGRET the emperor is beyond me rn but i have Sidious! w/ Ben n Vader (all those combo debuff +Vader's throwing attack can stack nicely). kind of want Grievous as sort-of salty grandpa? if only bc apparently he counts as a DROID??? the game is throwing such shade (and yes we def need padme like yesterday)
LOOK ;;;;;; OK ;;;;; DOOKU IS VERY TIRED OF ALL THESE YOUNG MEN RUNNIGN AROUND DOING BACKFLIPS OFF THE FURNITURE OK;;;;;
i regularly heck up on getting the event units that require certain teams , like;;;;;;;; i will get most of the shards but that last battle is JUST NOT HAPPENING.
That debuff stacking sounds GLORIOUS. I feel like I’m missing out on huge opportunities, like ;;;;; the obvious thing should be to pair Ben and Vader??? especially for me?? But I’m so impatient and both Vader and Ben’s attacks don’t seem to hit hard;;;;; so I don’t very often use either of them haha .__. I don’t play very clever
YES THOUGH, I LAUGHED FOR LIKE NINE YEARS WHEN I REALIZED GRIEVOUS WAS CATEGORIZED AS A DROID!!!!!!!! I feel like he doesn’t so much count as a salty grandpa, but as their annoying younger nephew or something, that’s just the feel I get from him lmao
like, grievous would get overly ambitious and excitable and go charging off and the rest of the team is just like “ ;;;; sigh .........“
no one is as salty as mace is tho
likealeafonthewind replied to your post “I just recently hit lvl 72 on galaxy of heroes which is the next ‘new...”
                   ahhh, you have chaze? i'm so jealous. i'm working on chirrut now but it's slow going. i've decided to start focusing more on gear and mods than leveling up my characters (except for red silk guy) but i'm not sure how that's working out for me in the long run. but it's hard because i've been trying to get anakin and lando too and i just don't have enough energy or sim tickets for all of that.
YES!! I got Chaze!!! It’s annoyingly hard to get shards for them though since they only cycle thru the stores occasionally -- which ------ which I guess I get; they’re OP as HELL together. If I hadn’t gotten lucky and been gifted Baze by one of those quadpacks, I still wouldn’t have them
working on mods and gear for the characters you do have is a good strategy tho, since at the levels you’re at, you can’t be competitively viable without them. Even though I’ve fought pass the most recent Barriss shard level, if I don’t pay attention when I play that battle, I can still get my butt handed to me. I do take a day off from grinding shards to check and see if I can at least gear up anyone - but I tend to have my characters at their highest gear level reasonable; I’m constantly waiting on the really highleveled purple gear to drop and get most of it from challenges or raids anyway.
literally so many of my characters need the MK IV purple laptop thing!!!!! why!!!!!!!! DEAR CHARACTERS, WHY DO YOU NEED 50 MK VII GLOBES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVEN’T UNLOCKED A SINGLE BATTLE FOR THEM YET!!!!!
The only thing with mods, is you kind of HAVE to use them, but eventually you’re going to get better mods, so then you have to replace them. Prioritizing that, plus all the credits that get sunk into it ...... ouch :(
I hear you about the energy and sim tickets. Most of the time I can just auto thru shard battles when I can, but on busy days and when I’m at work, you really only have the time to sim thru them. And if you’re gearing up characters, that can easily eat thru several days worth of energy since they’re not guaranteed drops :\
loverofcake replied to your post “teapirate replied to your post “I just recently hit lvl 72 on galaxy...”
                   I actually find Dooku super useful! Even though leveling him up is taking me FOREVER. I'm 17 shards off 5 stars with him and at that I've been doing 6 fights daily for his shards since not long after I started playing. I have found his force lightning and flawless riposte VERY useful though :D
ITS;;;; A CONSPIRACY????? Because you unlock his shard battle so fast!! how can he actually be this hard to upgrade??? wtf????
I always secretly though he’d be pretty useful, but facing Darth Nihilius a lot just makes everyone else look pretty pitiful in comparison. I never worry too much about facing a darksider team unless it has Darth Nihilus. BTW. FUCK DARTH NIHILUS.
Dooku did terrorize me for a while, though - at least until everyone got Sidious, and then I leveled up to where all the people who had Nihilus were. I was so annoyed about his Force Lightning and counters.
You know who else is really annoying to get shards for? Barriss. I have two regular battles unlocked for her, and one cantina battle. I never get shards from the regular battles, just the cantina one! wtf!!!
Yesterday while at work, I managed to activate Darth Vader!!!!!! finally!!!!
[immediate sticks him on a team with Old Ben] 8′D
that aside, dang but Ahsoka is a beast???? I have pretty much everyone as maxed out as my limited resources allows - she’s 4 stars (I'm about to promote her to 5) in purple gear at 54 (level caps are preventing me from gearing her higher than that) and only luminara approaches the amount of damage she deals, and only after Ventress’ special kicks in does she start sweeping the floor like ahsoka???
can I???? call her my murder daughter?????? she is killing it
you have nine total battles that can drop character shards. you have a character four shards short of being promoted. how many battles will drop shards?
the answer is none.
[hisses]
i finally unlocked ships by reaching lvl 60. the characters that have ships are mostly characters i don’t care about aka generic#234
there are now ships tasks in my dailies, the ships are super weak, and I don’t really particularly want to spend resources buffing up generic characters that aren’t great just so i can get my ‘complete all dailies’ bonus
anD YET
oH! I finally got Luminara to seven stars! I was wondering about this, so!!! How the shard shop works:
If I were to get any more luminara shards, now that she’s @ 7 and technically ‘full’ - I would just visit the shard shop. The shard shop converts any ‘extra’ luminara shards I might have into shard shop currency to purchase whatever they have in stock at the time!
It basically means the shard shop is useless to me for some time, because I will have other places I’ll be spending my energy and currency now that I’ve maxed out Luminara, but that does mean that you don’t ‘waste’ energy or whatever if you have to do a battle that drops shards but you’ve already maxed that character out.
Also the things that stock in the shard shop are - okayish. There’s three different entries for General Grievous (5, 10, and 30 sets of shards), Director Krennic, and the Death trooper, which ....... who cares about any of them. Then there's a handful of other characters, and some purple gear. Unlike in the main shops, the shard shop only stocks the other characters shards in sets of ‘2′
I guess this kind of thing is good for ‘overflow’ or whatever, but for someone who plays the way I do, it’s not useful to me yet.
