THE SPIKED NOSE RING: THE CRUELEST OF THE CRUEL "The spiked nose ring is a standard device used by dairy farmers (on small dairy farms too). The reason they insert these cruel devices into a calf’s nose is so that the spikes will poke the mother cow when a calf tries to suckle on her udders. The mother rejects the calf because of the spikes. But WHY does the dairy industry inflict this cruelty on babies and mothers? SO THAT THEY CAN (TRUTHFULLY) SAY THAT THEY DON’T SEPARATE BABIES FROM MOTHERS! They aren’t separated, but they can’t nurse or bond! The mammary secretions intended for the babies are stolen for humans to consume, so that the dairy industry can profit from animal exploitation and cruelty! Imagine the torture of babies trying to nurse from their mothers, and being unable to do so because of this device, all so that bovine mammary secretions (actual baby growth formula) can be stolen for humans to consume. THIS IS THE DAIRY INDUSTRY! PLEASE STOP SUPPORTING ANIMAL CRUELTY! Please buy plant-based products! These are babies!! Ripped from their mothers and sentenced to death because people want milk, cheese and butter. Think about that! The second I opened my eyes to this truth, I ditched dairy. Best decision ever. Repost from @milkhurts using @RepostRegramApp - Dairy is a slaughter industry. But even if no babies or mothers were killed, what part of your values says it's okay to steal babies from their mothers so we can consume baby food made for baby animals? What part of your values says it's okay to exploit motherhood at all? Think about it. Learn more: milkhurts.org. And please ditch dairy cruelty today. #Repost @awellfedworld ・・・ Repost from @milkhurts. Annoying comments I get as a vegan
Being a vegan isn’t bad, it’s and ethical healthy and great lifestyle! But it’s the idiots I encounter on a daily basis that really grinds my gears. So here are 5 annoying comments I get as a vegan deal with on the daily. - - 1. Where do u get your protein??? DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED!!!!!! I get my protein from plants!!! Avocado, nuts , quinoa, seeds, tofu, peas, all kinds of beans, dark leafy greens, AND SOOOOO MUCH MORE!!! Also most of the time even after I tell them this they preach about how meat is good for you and all the protein in meat which is soooo dumb! I can get into a whole rant to why meat is bad for you.
2. You need dairy so your bones can get strong. This is absolute BS. There are calcium in so many other things the government has brainwashed our society into thinking that dairy is essential so dairy farms wouldn’t go out of business. Stop being so blind to the #milk truth
3. I bet u only eat salads. Wrong. Wrong. And… wrong! The list goes on and on of what I can eat. I barely eat salads 😂
4. But cows don’t get hurt when they are being milked. This is very wrong. They are hooked on to machines and raped so they can produce more milk. Then, they get their baby calfs torn away from them.
5. Being vegan is so expensive! No it isn’t! I shop at Walmart honey 😂 all I need is grains, veggies, fruit, and my non dairy milk. All of these items are pretty cheap! As long as u aren’t buying luxury vegan items all the time this lifestyle is pretty cheap. So stop making excuses. - - Thank you for reading my post! Please like, reblog, and follow❤️ got any comments, questions, concerns? Feel free to ask :)

If we look at the various social justice causes that most self-identified progressives currently support, many of these causes are working to dismantle forms of oppression and discrimination that are based on the idea that some bodies are "less than" others. Racism, sexism, heterosexism, transphobia, ethnocentrism, ableism, sizeism... all of these forms of discrimination are based on devaluing and oppressing others on the basis of the bodies they were born into. . When the mechanism of the oppressions you are fighting is the idea that some bodies are less than, what sense does it make to endorse this ideology elsewhere? That is like putting out a fire with one hand while the other lights a match. To reject forms of oppression that are based on the color, gender identity, sexual orientation, size, ethnicity or ability of a body, while simultaneously endorsing the oppression of other bodies based on their species— is morally inconsistent, ideologically incoherent, and counter-productive to true and meaningful anti-oppression work. . Orwellianism Behind Milktruth
In 1984 George Orwell envisioned “The Ministry of Truth” which was responsible for propaganda (aka lying to the public). Milktruth.com is doing the same thing, they are disguising propaganda as truth and don’t even have the decency to think of a better name! “They” seem to be taking notes from Orwell himself. Who are “they”. Lets find out!
How do I know these truths are lies? Online censorship isn’t strong enough, yet, so after a day of digging I found the real truth, not this milktruth “bullshit”, get it? Well, bulls aren’t milked, but they are the same species so maybe I get a few pun points. Back to the point. Scroll to the bottom of milktruth's web sight and you will see © 2015 Milk Processors Education Program (MilkPEP).
Following the money is always good practice in determining someone’s motives. For example, I am a brand new blogger who isn’t selling anything. I’m not asking for your money so I don’t have a reason to lie. What about a salesmen? He or she has a strong incentive to say anything as long as you buy the product they sell.
Is milktruth, created by MilkPEP, motivated by sales? “MilkPEP is funded by the nation's milk processors, who are committed to increasing fluid milk consumption.” Wow, there is the answer. Nutritionists and doctors are not the ones funding MilkPEP. Milk processors are funding milkPEP to increase consumption, to increase sales, to increase profit. They will say anything to reach their goals including skew facts, buy scientists, and appeal to consumers emotions or fears.
“Milktruth” is propaganda funded by the nation’s milk processors, plain and simple. Anything on any websites funded by MilkPEP should be taken through a skeptics lens. I'm already skeptical of any website that feels the need to condemn their critics in the first few sentences, but the funding from milk producers condemns their message.
Propaganda: information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.
Real life always falls short of propaganda as shown by this Burger King advertisement:
Look at the picture taken from milktruth. I won’t post the reality pictures that milk causes. Diabetes, environmental destruction, animal suffering, rape racks, and veal are all ugly truths associated with the dairy industry. Interestingly, the appeal to our children’s nutrition is extremely strong on milk promoting websites.
A propaganda technique is an improper appeal to emotion used for the purpose of swaying the opinions of an audience.
Could it be so obvious though? Surely local dairy farms feel motivated by just causes. Maybe so, but local farms are forced to pay MilkPEP anyway to promote milk from all over the nation, no matter the methods of obtaining it. Don’t let the professional looking website and catchy videos snag you into believing the lies. Look past the smoke and mirrors. Remember its all for profit, don't drink dairy. More tomorrow with a focus on Milklife while I dig deeper into where Big Dairy spends their money, its even darker than you can imagine.

DAIRY IS SCARY - exposing dairy industry
For this module on Practice of Graphic Design, we’re encouraged to develop a campaign for a social cause that we’re passionate about. Being a vegan and an Animal Rights activist, I knew my approach would be on exposing the cruel and unethical industry of animal factory farming, involving production of meat, dairy, eggs and all other animal products, highly consumed by humans.
I decided to limit more my approach to a campaign that exposes only one of these industries, that for me is one of the most brutal: the Dairy industry.
There are 3 main arguments which makes the human consumption of dairy totally unacceptable:
1 - ANIMAL CRUELTY
youtube
"Cows are mammals, just like us. And mammals produce milk for one reason: to feed their babies. Cows carry their babies for 9 months, just like we do, they lactate to feed their babies, just like we do, and after weaning, they stop producing milk, just like we do. So in order to have a constant supply of cow’s milk for human consumption, we need a constant supply of pregnant cows.
In the dairy industry, cows are repeatedly inseminated, which is a nice word for raped. Once a cow gives birth, we face another roadblock to our milk’s journey. Babies after all drink their mother’s milk. So to make sure there’s constant supply of milk for us, the babies must be taken away soon after birth. This is precisely what happens in the dairy industry. If the calf is a male, he is sent to a veal farm where he is tied down, unable to move, or locked in a cage where he cannot even turn around until he’s slaughtered while still only a few weeks old. There wouldn’t exist veal if it wasn’t for the dairy industry. (...)
Every cup of yogurt, every scoop of ice cream and every glass of milk is directly connected to the deaths of those baby calves (…) We cannot forget the mothers that are left behind: cows bond intensely with their calves and will cry out for days when they are taken (…) The bodies of dairy cows generally give out at age 4 or 5 and they are regarded as “spent”, despite their natural lifespan of 20 years or more. After this time, they’re sent to slaughter for cheap meat and pet food, deemed unfit for human consumption.
(…)
You see we talked about what happened to the male calves who are sent off for veal. Well, the daughters of the dairy industry are still separated from their mothers. But they’re kept around to take their mother’s place and keep the money machine going and keep the milk flowing. So that in every grocery store, every corner shop, every gas station, will be sure to stock, this wholesome, normalized, entirely ordinary product.
MILK is outcome of rape, enslavement, kidnapping, abuse, disease, torture, infanticide and murder whitewashed in the image of wholesome nutrition.”
- Emily Moran Barwick, animal rights activist
2 - ENVIRONMENT
youtube
“It takes 708 gallons of water to produce a gallon of milk, yet only 208 gallons of water to produce a gallon of soy milk. (…)
Runoff from factory farming and livestock grazing is one of the most leading causes of pollution in our rivers and lakes. Almost all of the Amazon rainforest land that’s been cleared since 1970 is used for livestock grazing (…)
More than half of global greenhouse gas emissions is caused by animal agriculture”
- PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals)
3 - HEALTH
youtube
“Cow's milk is designed by Nature to turn a 65 lb calf into a 700 lb cow as rapidly as possible. Everything in that white liquid: the hormones, the lipids, the protein, the sodium, the growth factors, the IGF1; everything is there to blow that calf up to a big cow or it wouldn’t be there.
Whether you turn it into butter, whether you coagulate into yogurts, whether you ferment it into cheese, whether you freeze it into ice cream: it’s baby calf growth fluid. Not only does it promote the growth of tissues all over the body but this is the milk of a large mammal that just had a baby.
Well, that milk is made of estrogens, all mother’s milk is filled of estrogens. Now, thanks to modern dairy techniques, the cow is already pregnant with its next calf, so milk is being sucked off large pregnant bovines and the estrogen content of this liquid is through the roof.
Studies have shown now with two glasses of milk and within 15 minutes your urine is pouring: estrone, progesterone, estradiol and estriol, these potent mammalian hormones. Why do women in the west get all these breast lumps? It’s not normal, it’s not natural, they’re eating estrogens and there’s a concern that it contributes to breast lumps, it makes the uterus response with heavy periods, they get benign tumors called fibers that make them bleed heavily and they get anemia. The dairy protein, the casein, these are not friendly in an human body. Studies back this up, these proteins make asthma worse, they induce acne, the whey protein stimulates genes that makes the oil glands in the skin put on acid oil. (…)"
- Interview with Dr Michael Kleper

The campaign’s approach will be on the animal welfare and aims the consumers to ditch Dairy.

Dairy milk comes from grieving mothers and their slaughtered babies. Every day on dairy farms, newborn calves are separated from their mothers. This is done so that the milk that rightfully belongs to them could be sold to humans. Due to their strong maternal instinct, mother cows beg for their babies in a language that needs no translation. They roar, they cry, and they moan. Some have even run miles in search of their babies. They live a sad, traumatic life being forced to experience the loss of their babies every year until their milk production drops. They are then transported to the slaughterhouse to be violently murdered for their flesh. End violence against cows and calves, ditch dairy, and go vegan. 📷 movinganimals.org #ditchdairy #notyourmomnotyourmilk #animalrights #chooseveganism #govegan #animalexplotation #animalabuse #dairy #slaughterhouses #endspeciesism #socialjustice #milklife #milktruth ✴️▫️✴️▫️✴️▫️✴️▫️✴️▫️✴️▫️ #SaskiaReposts @thesavemovement ⛔ Trolls will not be entertained, only "removed". ⛔ #StopGreed #StopCruelty #RespectAllSentientBeings #SaveAnimals #HelpAnimals #AnimalRightsMatter #RespectPlanetEarth https://www.instagram.com/p/CII6jR5JbJ_/?igshid=1gbnt8wcrs10y

"Mammary secretions are specifically designed for the babies of specific animals. Would you drink dog milk? Giraffe milk? Orangutan milk? That's crazy, right?! Would you drink human breast milk if a pregnant woman squeezed you a glass? Gross, right?! Then why do you think that it is completely normal to consume cow milk (and products containing cow milk) as an adult? Perhaps because you've been told that this behavior is normal since you were a child? Please use your critical thinking skills now. Doesn't it seem gross and crazy to consume the mammary secretions of another species, especially as an adult? Why are you still breastfeeding? And from a cow rather than another human? Accept that you were brainwashed by corporate propaganda. Most of us were, until we really thought about it. It's all about money. The dairy industry floods the schools with propaganda, saturates the media with deception, and pays off politicians with campaign contributions. Aren't you angry that you've been duped all of these years, consuming bovine growth formula intended for baby cows? It's time to wake up! Plant-based alternatives are everywhere now." - David Jack James #dairy #teamdairy #enjoydairy #dairymilk #organicmilk #cowsmilk #proudofdairy #milktruth #dairytruth #dairyfacts #shoutaboutdairy #thisisdairy #dairyindustry #dairyfarm #dairyfarming #newudders #dairycows #dairyproducts #vegetarian #cows #lovecows #cowsofinstagram #dairyfree #dairyisscary #ditchdairy #milkisdeath #suckcowtitsmuch #februdairy #februdairy20 #februdairy2020 https://www.instagram.com/p/B9EBumXhc-l/?igshid=1vg3zxlyz20fq

Repost from @mothersagainstdairy using @RepostRegramApp - This clip is the last bit of a very powerful and poignant video statement that I was sent by a mother in England, Denise Bickley, who relates how her experience of having to pump (or "express" as they say) milk for her son when he wouldn't breast feed, woke her up to the profound indignity and injustice at the heart of all dairy farming, an industry that profits on stealing babies from their mothers and needlessly exploiting mothers for their milk. I wish I could share the whole video here but Instagram limits videos to 60 seconds or less. Will you please head over to the @mothersagainstdairy Facebook page and share the video from there? ❤️ #vegan #vegansofig #dairyfree #milktruth #dairytruth #milklife #dairygood is no good #undeniablydairy #breastfeeding #newborn #newmom #motherhood #mother #breastfeedingmom #nursingmom #animalliberation #untilallarefree

"I think if you were to ask people point blank, ‘Is motherhood a thing we should feel okay about exploiting?’— most people would say no, motherhood should never be a thing we exploit, we should cringe at the very thought. And I think we all know this to be true at some fundamental level, but we’ve been so massively brainwashed around dairy that most people don’t even think about motherhood when they think about cow’s milk; they think: cows eat grass, cows turn grass into milk for humans. But milk and dairy products are in fact mother’s milk, and mother’s milk is very specifically baby food; cow’s milk is for baby cows, goat’s milk is for baby goats, sheep’s milk is for baby sheep, etc. At its core, dairy IS the exploitation of motherhood. The farming of mothers for their breast milk. Just think about that. The very idea of breeding animals into existence in order to force them to become mothers so we can then invade and parasitize their mothering relationships, steal their maternal lactations, and turn them into ice cream and cheese, is so violently entitled, so deeply unfeminist and offensive, and profoundly anti-mother. We shouldn’t exploit the motherhood of anyone. It really is that simple. And if we agree with this, then we must also recognize that not only dairy but all animal agriculture depends on the reproductive subjugation of billions of individuals, and the systematic destruction of their mothering relationships and families. We shouldn’t support this if we don’t have to. When we have plentiful access to plant-based foods, then we should make food choices that respect the reproductive autonomy, bodily sovereignty, and will to live of all beings. And we should be vegan.” - Ashley Capps, founder, Milk Hurts #vegan #vegansofig #dairyfree #milktruth #dairytruth #milklife #dairygood is no good #undeniablydairy #newmom #mother #motherhood #Repost @awellfedworld ・・・ “Repost @milkhurts
