            Fun fact! In the Nizziverse, Scorponok is a Mini-Con. But I should elaborate on what the Nizziverse Mini-Cons even are…

         To start, the name can be a bit misleading. Mini-Cons aren’t necessarily small… There are some fairly big ones out there, after all. The name comes more from the fact that they’re designed to be smaller than the larger Transformer they’re meant to power-link with and support. So for a huge bot like Blackout, his Mini-Con is fairly big; A Mini-Con for someone along the size of a Vehicon, much smaller. By consequence of this role in society, Mini-Cons are typically smaller than the rest of the populace, but keep in mind: A Mini-Con designed for, say, an Omega Sentinel would be bigger than Optimus Prime!

         Mini-Cons are differentiated from other Cybertronians in their role/ability to latch onto a larger Transformer and enhance their Energon, making them stronger, faster, more durable, etc. They’re like walking generators, designed primarily for a support role, and under the Functionist regime, Mini-Cons were mandated to assume alt-modes that maximized their ability to enhance another Cybertronian’s power.

         With the collapse of Functionist rule however, Mini-Cons were given new freedom to decide their alt-mode. Many chose their new alt-mode for themselves, usually vehicles that prioritized their own traveling capabilities over others’. They didn’t provide as much bang for their buck when power-linked to a Cybertronian, but it meant more Energon for themselves and their own functions.

         When the Great War resumed, some Mini-Cons opted to return to conventional alt-modes that maximized energy output. Scorponok was one of them, and on Earth, he took the alt-mode of a helicopter engine (this is canon to the original Bayverse and part of the basis for this decision), to better power-link with Blackout and his own helicopter alt-mode. Cybertronians disguised as vehicles are always faster than the vehicles they impersonate, but with a Mini-Con, this allowed Blackout to make it to Mission City in time to fight over the Allspark. Other Decepticons across the globe, sadly, couldn’t make it in time.

         Considering their whole function is to power up and support other Cybertronians, Mini-Cons are rarely sent on solo missions for this reason, unless that mission is to reconvene with another Transformer. It’s seen as a waste of their best ability, an ability nobody else has nor can do better. Naturally, some Mini-Cons feel like they’re returning to the rigid roles of the Functionist regime, and need to be reassured otherwise, given missions that allow them to flex their own capabilities alongside teammates. It was rare to see Mini-Cons function as full-time soldiers prior to the revolution against the Functionists, making full use of their robot modes beyond a means of transport.

         How do some Mini-Cons feel about their role? It varies. Some feel weighed down by the obligation to support another. Others are perfectly happy with it; A valued role in which they basically do very little and leave most of the actual work to their partner, and yet are still fully congratulated for participation. Some Cybertronians fully appreciate and value Mini-Cons as their own agents, with their own role to play; Others seem them as menial servants and accuse them of both doing a lot but also very little to begin with.

         In the end, it’s hard to predict how a Cybertronian will react to their permanent role as a Mini-Con. Such is the fickleness of whatever personality Vector Sigma chooses to bestow, and it has led to a moral hesitancy in consigning newly-made Cybertronians to such a task. Some advocate for new bots to be made solely as ‘regular’ Transformers, unbound by no capability and thus no obligation to power up others. Ideology is not the only cause; With Energon supplies dwindling across the Great War, Mini-Con production has also gone down, as they require more energy than your typical Transformer due to their function.

         Some Mini-Cons have mixed feelings over the moral choice to avoid manufacturing them; Because of this, they fear a dwindling population and near-extinction more than the average Transformer. So to some of them, the Great War is arguably a blessing, as it makes the role and desire for Mini-Cons more valuable… On the other hand, it’s the very reason for the Energon shortage (as well as the deaths of various Mini-Cons) that contributes the most to their loss in numbers.

         Micronus Prime is said to be the progenitor of all Mini-Cons. Many historians debate and speculate as to just how big he was. It was understood he was probably smaller than his fellow Primes, meant to support them. On the other hand, some wondered if Micronus could’ve also power-linked with Primus himself, and what size that might have to entail…

        There are times when a Cybertronian sees a BIG Mini-Con and shudders to imagine just how much bigger their intended size for a partner is. Mini-Cons need to be smaller than their power-link partners; If bigger, a fatal overload WILL happen. Usually this comes at a negative feedback cost to the Mini-Con as well, but there has been some disturbing research into reducing this side-effect in order to weaponize such a phenomenon…

A high-ranking decepticon only outranked by Megatron himself, Soundwave is smart, logical, efficient , loyal, and one of the most dangerous decepticons out there, co-leading the decepticons stranded on earth with Starscream. though often he and Startscream are working against each other rather than with each other. Starscream wants to run things differently, while Soundwave wants to continue fallowing Megatron's old orders until they can get back in contact with Cybertron and get new orders from Megatron.

Though Soundwave's dry, monotone way of speaking and efficient way of carrying out tasks might make you think he is not the creative type, he is actually quite the artist, most often expressing himself through music ragging between several different cybertronian music genres.
