Jason Dean really was having a shity day. For starters, you had been late waking up, throwing off his whole schedule and making you both late to school. And now Veronica was ignoring him. Again. Some bullshit he couldn’t even remember had made her mad, so now he had to think of a way to apologize without really apologizing.
He was staring off into space during 4th period when the school intercom called him to the office. While Jason was always happy to miss his language arts class, he worried slightly about what they wanted. As far as he knew, he hadn’t done anything recently that would warnt being called to the office.
“Jason Dean?” The main secretary questioned when he walked in. Jason had to restrain himself from rolling his eyes and nodded. “Phone call for you.” She held out the phone for him to take.
“Hello?”
“Is This Jason Dean?” A shrill voice asked.
“Yes, who is this?”
“I’m Mss. Daniels, I’m the nurse at Sherwood elementary. I have y/n here in the office, she threw up in class. I wasn’t able to get a hold of your father-“
“Does she needs picked up?” Jd was leaning against the wall in the office, glancing at the few people coming in and out of the office.
“She does. We were hoping you could get a hold of-“
“I’ll be there soon.” And he hung up the phone before passing it to the secretary. He quickly went to his locker before leaving the building to get to your school. Mentally, he wondered if you were actually sick, it wouldn’t be the first time you faked to get out of class. If you had he may tell you off for a bit, but ultimately he didn’t care much. School was a waist of time at your age anyways now that you could do math, read, and write.
All thoughts of you faking, however, were quickly gone when he got to the school and saw you. You were curled up on one of the chairs in the office, shivering slightly. You looked pale, and had a good layer of sweat covering you. He immediately felt like shit for yelling at you this morning. You must of felt like shit, and him yelling couldn’t have helped.
“I’m head to pick y/n up.”
“Are you her father?”
“Yep.” Jd easily lied to the women, knowing it would be easier if she thought that. He just prayed she thought he’d had you when he was really young. He had to sign a few papers before getting the ok to take you, in which he took your backpack and led you outside. Jd froze however when he realized he only had his bike.
“Do- do you think you can handle riding?” You were already leaning your body on his, eyes half closed, but you nodded.
“Ya…”
Your brother sighed loudly, he probably shouldn’t let you ride with him but your house was to far away to walk and he sure as hell didn’t want to leave his bike here. Maybe, if he’d thought ahead he could have asked Veronica…
“Can we Go?” You whined slightly, pulling Jd back to the present.
“Ya, Just keep a tight hold, ok?” When you nodded he climbed on, helping you on as well before taking off. Luckily, the ride seemed to go quickly and before you knew it he was pulling up to the large house you called home.
“Ok, why don’t-“ Jd was cut off when you practically jumped off of the bike and threw up in the flower bed. He cringed slightly at the idea of what the flowers would look- and smell, like after words, but didn’t say anything about it. Instead, he rubbed up and down your back, trying to comfort you until you were done.
“Finished?” He asked, earning him a nod. “Ok, let’s get you inside then. Go change and then come back down to the living room.”
“Ok.” And you disappeared upstairs while jd went on a hunt for everything he’d need. Some cough syrup, which would hopefully help since it was the only medication they had in the house, some extra blankets, a cool compression, and he even started some tea to bring out to you.
This wasn’t the first time Jd had to take care of you while you were sick. Hell, he’d practically been raising you since your mom died. He wasn’t even surprised that your dad hadn’t answered when the school called, he probably wouldn’t even notice you were sick. Asshole.
“Ok, I know it’s going to taste like shit but you’ve got it take it-“ Jd stoped when he didn’t see you laying on the couch like he’d expected. It had been a good 20 minutes, you should already be down here, maybe playing a tape you liked or listening to the radio.
“Y/n?” He called out, carrying the stuff up the stairs and checking your room. Nothing. Bathroom? Nope. Guest room? No. Finally he checked his own bedroom, which is where he found you.
You were curled up in his bed, eyes shut as you slept. His blanket was pulled tightly to your body, and when he got closer he recognized one of his shirts on you. He sighed slightly before shaking you gently. He didn’t want to wake you up, but he needed to see if this medicine would help or if he’s have to go to the story later.
“Come on, wake up.” He tried to be gentle, watching your eyes flutter open.
“What…?”
“Sorry kid, but you need to take this.” He held up the small cup of cough syrup. You reached for it, sleep making your brain foggy as you swallowed it. It wasn’t until after that you reacted to the taste.
“Gross.” You mumbled, handing the cup to him and hearing him chuckle.
“I know. But you can go back to sleep now-“ you grabbed his arm when he tried to stand up.
“Stay, please,” you whined.
“You’re going to make me lay in bed with you?” Jd tried to joke, but your eyes quickly filled with tears. “Hey! No, I was just joking. If you want me to lay with you I will.”
He quickly pulled back the covers to slid into bed with you. “See?” You seemed to calm down, cuddling into your brothers body with your arms wrapped around him as you drifted back to sleep.

The role of the typewriter in poetic composition is not to be ignored, I think––even though mss. may be composed in longhand, the immediate print-out of a typewriter is available to refer to for a sense of shape,* and even though the poem has been patterned in some metrical fashion. * Hugh Kenner, The Pound Era, pp. 90-91, suggests that hitting the space-bar twice on a typewriter can, indeed, be a kind of marking of time; it is certainly true that, if one were to write a theory of format, the unit spacing of the typewriter, the accentual clatter of the sound of the machine itself (for those who write directly on it) may have some significance. [...] We might also observe that just as the verb "sing" became a stock metaphor for "compose poetry," so "write" is becoming for "type."
john hollander, from "the poem in the eye" in vision and resonance, 1975

A pair of satellite images acquired almost 50 years apart--by Landsat 1 in 1973 (top) and Landsat 8 in 2022 (bottom)--reveals striking changes in the glaciers and ice caps of northwest Greenland.
A Half-Century of Loss in Northwest Greenland
Observations of Earth from space are now common. But prior to the 1970s, no Earth-observing satellites had been launched with the specific intent of monitoring our planet’s land areas. That changed with the launch of Landsat 1 in 1972. The Landsat mission continues onward through today, with the launch of Landsat 9 in September 2021.
This image pair spans the Landsat era so far, revealing changes across a peninsula north of Thule Air Base (Pituffik). The Multispectral Scanner System (MSS) on Landsat 1 acquired the first image (left) on September 3, 1973. The second image (right), acquired on August 20, 2022, by the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on Landsat 8, shows the same area 49 years later.
The 1973 image resembles natural color, but it is actually false color (MSS bands 6-5-4). This becomes apparent along some of the ice-free areas where vegetation shows up as red. But with very little vegetation in northwest Greenland, the false-color Landsat 1 image appears similar in color to the natural-color Landsat 8 image (OLI bands 4-3-2). Bare land is brown, and snow and ice are white.
The similarity in color makes it easy to see where glacial ice has retreated, narrowed, and in one case surged. Notice the clear retreat of the large glaciers flowing into the water of Wolstenholme Fjord. Isolated ice caps and smaller glaciers throughout the image all generally shrink, and in some places disconnect from each other. In contrast, the large glacier flowing west from North Ice Cap (Nunatarssuaq Ice Cap) appears to lengthen. Such surging behavior might be caused by ice at higher elevations of the ice cap draining into the glacier.
The images were acquired just two weeks apart in their respective years. Notice that in 2022, the edges of the ice caps and glaciers generally appear much grayer than in 1973. A warm summer in 2022 melted away more of the bright-white snow cover exposing darker, dirtier ice. Fresh snowfall might also be present in the 1973 image, although September is early in the accumulation season, which largely runs from September until May.
Inspired by recent research on changes to Greenland’s peripheral glaciers, Christopher Shuman searched Landsat data records and identified this image pair. “Because this is such a cold, northern area, I figured that the losses over time would be relatively slow, so we needed almost 50 years to show the change,” said Shuman, a glaciologist at University of Maryland, Baltimore County, based at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.
The research showed that peripheral glaciers, which are relatively small and disconnected from the main ice sheet, account for a small proportion of Greenland’s ice-covered area (about 4 percent). But peripheral glaciers account for 11 percent of the island’s ice loss, which makes them outsized contributors to current sea level rise.
Peripheral glaciers in northwest Greenland have been losing about 3.5 to 7 gigatons (4 billion to 8 billion U.S. tons) of ice per year in recent decades amid accelerated warming, according to the research. That’s more than the peripheral glaciers in southeast and southwest Greenland are losing, but less than in north Greenland, where peripheral glaciers have been losing as much as 26 gigatons (29 billion U.S. tons) per year since the early 2000s.

A University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire staff member sued her employer over being ousted from a position in a campus diversity office allegedly for being "White."
The lawsuit alleges that when Rochelle Hoffman was promoted to UW-Eau Claire's interim director of the campus's Multicultural Student Services office, the school's former Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Student Affairs Olga Diaz was told by students that a White woman was not fit to preside over a position intended to serve students of color.
"You hired a white woman as the Interim Director?" one student was cited in a federal complaint against the university.
STEM HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS STAGE SIT-IN PROTEST, URGE HARSH PUNISHMENTS FOR BIAS INCIDENTS, IMPROVE DEI POLICY
Per the complaint, another student asked, "Do you personally feel white staff can do as effective a job as a person of color, within a space for people of color?"
Hoffman said she felt compelled to resign last year after eight months of intense hostility and staff questioning her "legitimacy" after being promoted to interim director of the campus's Multicultural Student Services office, the complaint states.
Hoffman worked for the campus's Blugold Beginnings office for six years prior to the promotion. According to Wisconsin Public Radio, the "office served underrepresented, low-income and first-generation college students."
Reportedly, the office merged with the UW-Eau Claire Office of Multicultural Affairs last year.
"Despite Hoffman’s exceptional qualifications, however, students, faculty and staff opposed her appointment to Interim Director of MSS solely because she was white," the complaint claims. "It was exclusively Hoffman’s identity as white that was the issue; criticism was about her race and color, not her qualifications."
The complaint also says that while Hoffman was working in Blugold Beginnings and the Multicultural Student Services, her ratings on a performance review praised her as "exceeds expectations" and "Outstanding."
The complaint states further, "Despite Hoffman’s exceptional qualifications, however, students, faculty and staff opposed her appointment to Interim Director of MSS solely because she was white. It was exclusively Hoffman’s identity as white that was the issue; criticism was about her race and color, not her qualifications."
After suing her employer on Dec. 14 in the Western District of Wisconsin, Hoffman now works as a senior academic advising coordinator for the university.
The lawsuit lists the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents, UW-Eau Claire Chancellor Jim Schmidt, and Assistant Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Teresa O'Halloran.
A spokesperson from UW-Eau Claire sent Fox News Digital a statement about the lawsuit.
"As is the case with all pending litigation, UW-Eau Claire will not offer a statement or comment on the lawsuit. UW-Eau Claire does not discriminate based on race in any employment decisions," the spokesperson said.
The UW-Eau Claire Board of Regents sent Fox News Digital the following statement, "We do not comment on pending litigation."

They officially started dating during the 18 months of mission training.
9 months in, after grueling, intense, no holds barred physical and mental prep for the mission, good-natured ribbing became coffee breaks, and commiseration became lunches. Study sessions became deep conversations. Dinners with the team became dinners for two, and eventually dinner and the next morning, breakfast in bed.
Their last time to themselves before reporting to the Facility for the week-long preflight quarantine with the crew, they spent the night making love as if it was literally their last night on Earth because the mission was going to be a very long 6 months.
At one point, seeing the bite mark on his shoulder and the bruise on her hip, between kisses she teased, “Keep this up Lover Boy, they’re gonna give us our physicals and wonder if we’re in a Fight Cub.”
“No doubt,” he murmured, rolling the two of them over. “I’m not too heavy on you, am I?”
“Hold on…” she mused, then shifting her hip, her thigh relaxed open a little wider, which pulled an appreciative moan and a soft giggle from both of them. “There. Not heavy at all. This…is definitely one of the benefits of gravity.”
“Affirmative…”

4 months later, a little more than 2 months remaining of a hand held here, an arm brushed there, a couple of loopy, weightless, zero gravity make out sessions, and quick kisses GoodNight before climbing into their sleeping bags tucked into individual quarters that literally could hold only one person….
“…Barnes. Barnes, do you copy back there?”
“Copy, Commander. Sorry. Just kind of…taken by this view.”
“Yeah. I don’t blame you. Seeing the Earth out there like that. It’s really something.“
“You sure are…I mean, affirmative. Over.”
“Barnes, is your COMM to Crew and Ground live?”
“Negative. We’re presently on Intercom. We have the room to ourselves.”
“Copy. We don’t want another slip up like—“
“I know. Sorry about that. I blame that slip on the Overview Effect and you. Seeing both you and the Earth, floating in space in front of me. I guess I lost myself. Good thing the crew and everyone at Ground Control all know by now that we’re—“
“They do. But what people not us didn’t need to know, or hear, was how good you think my ass looks in this space suit. Granted, you’re not wrong, but—“
“Waitaminute, hold on. Okay. COMM’s off…now.”
“James!!”
“I’m kidding! It’s just…Sarah…from where I am right now, the beauty of Space has nothing on you, cerul meu înstelat.”
“Look at you getting your flirt on at 5 miles a second! Cerul meu înstelat, huh? That’s a new one you’re going to have to teach me later, but for now, Mission Specialist Barnes, mind on task. Clock’s ticking on this EVA. You need to deploy your experiments and gather the data, and I need to check the solar arrays and the thermal blanket on the MSS so we can get back inside and let the next team get out here.”
“Which would give us a little bit of alone time, Commander Wilson. You and I only have…let’s see…36 hours left to try and set a record for the Mile High Club.”
“Ha! I miss you too, and can’t wait ‘til we get back home because not only is there no real privacy to speak of up here, we both know that…things…don’t exactly work out here in space like they do back on Earth.”
“Don’t remind me! Doesn’t stop me from wanting to—hey…do you think I can get Ground Control to release us early? You know, send a—“
“What, a Shuttle to come get us so we can rush home and—?”
“I’m just sayin’! Quarters are really close on the Station, and us not being able to…baby…it’s hard.”
“Not way out here, it’s not!”
“You’re killin’ me, Wilson!”
“Wait’ll we get home. And bring that spacesuit with you, sweet cheeks. Copy?”
[Other mission crew members are heard snickering through their headsets.]
“Hey, you two lovebirds. The sooner you finish up out there, the sooner you two can—“
“What!? BARNES!!”

Researchers improve corrosion-detecting technology to prevent leaks in pipes
Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) has created the next generation of transducers that use ultrasonic guided wave technology to detect anomalies in pipes, enabling users to prevent leaks before they start. The device, which utilizes the SwRI-developed Magnetostrictive Sensor (MsS) technology, will be showcased at the American Society for Nondestructive Testing's (ASNT) Annual Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, from October 31 to November 3.
"Pipeline corrosion resulting in leaks is very common," said SwRI Staff Engineer Sergey Vinogradov, who developed the technology with Staff Engineer Keith Bartels and other SwRI staff members. "There are only a few current methods to detect defects before they cause leaks. Quite often, the pipe is repaired and re-inspected after a leak occurs. We've developed a technology that can consistently monitor the pipe's condition, hopefully preventing leaks from happening in the first place."
The technology is known as a Magnetostrictive Transducer (MsT) Collar. It was originally developed by SwRI in 2002. The updated version has a flat, thin design allowing it to be used on pipes in tight spaces. In custom configurations, it can withstand heat up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The new, segmented MsT design also features eight sensors that give the transducer the ability to more accurately identify where in the pipe corrosion is occurring.

i think illuminated manuscripts look so cool but I know basically nothing about them. they're generally religious and instructed to be done as a serious job? how do the funky lil fellas and creachures fit into the neat serious calligraphy and opulent initial letter stuff? (did they not get in trouble for adding those?) please enlighten me, if you are willing 💖✨
Sorry this is gonna be long! but here's the gist of it:
- many of the illuminated books we see, especially the more fun and fancy ones, are books of hours or other books for personal use like the ones below which, while religious, were commissioned by individual (wealthy) people and thus were a bit more ornamented and full of fun marginalia because they're for specific people's usage (and illumination is expensive!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-you've also got bestiaries like the ones below (and botanical texts, etc), which also have to have fun little images to show you what the animals/plants/etc look like (or... not, as is the case with the little newt here)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-and then you have de luxe manuscripts, which were also usually tied to wealth (bejeweled bindings made of gold! gilded lettering with intricate decoration! very pricy)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I will say that a lot of the reason why you see so many of these more decorated or illustration-heavy manuscripts is 1) because they're a lot more visually interesting than just script on the page, although I'd say that that is VASTLY more common (especially for just regular use religious texts where you'd see rubrication [red ink] and maybe some cool decorated initials in red and blue, but usually just plain script) and 2) because the extant manuscripts skew heavily toward the later middle ages (the decoration like in the heart-shaped MS above is pretty typical to 14th and 15th century MSS, and the later middle ages also saw a general increase in illuminated MSS), where book production was also becoming more and more secular as well as religious (shoutout to the 12th century for the universities and the later middle ages for specific workshops dedicated to producing manuscripts both secular and like books of hours, etc)
there are certainly religious texts and secular texts that are serious and don't have much in terms of marginalia, especially when you're looking at earlier MSS or things that had regular use like texts used in the church or in monasteries by bishops or cantors etc. A lot of the more highly decorated religious books were display gospels like the Book of Kells or the Lindisfarne Gospels, or illuminated bibles
also it's unlikely that in the production of MSS that people were getting in trouble for illumination because it was usually heavily planned out (one guy works on the text, a rubricator goes in and adds the red text, and then the illuminator adds the illustrations, which the previous guys have left space specifically dedicated to). you might have some later person doodling in the margins of an earlier text, but if it's original to the manuscript it was probably planned to be there!

I have two very different middle grade MS ready to query (yay!!). If I start querying one and it doesn’t get bites, can I query some of the same agents with the other MS? If so, how long would I need to wait between querying the second one to those same agents? I guess I’m wondering if it’s unprofessional to send another MS too soon after a rejection.
Sure, you can totally re-query the same agents with new work, but also yes, I would say it's not the best look to follow up a rejection with a "how about THIS, then?" -- it kinda gives a "spaghetti at the wall" feeling and is a little chaotic / overwhelming.
IDEALLY, you'd wait like six months before querying the same agents with another book -- but if it was shorter than that, not a problem. Just try to give them enough space between that they don't feel like you are just tossing things at them indiscriminately. (And of course, make sure that they really are a great fit for that kind of book!)
My approach when I'm sending material to editors, potential blurbers, etc, is the same: I want them to feel like I have chosen them specifically to see this work, that I'm being thoughtful and that this is something special. Curated for them, if you will. Shotgunning random mss at them kinda takes away that feeling, you know?
(And since you say they are "very different" mss -- maybe there are other agents to go to FIRST before repeating?)
Good luck!

Six Questions
tagged by @highwayphantoms - tysm! RULES: answer the questions then tag some peeps (🐥) you want to get to know better/catch up with.
Last Song: uh... apparently Cassandra Jenkins' Michelangelo is seguing into Angel by Du Blonde.
Last Show: For All Mankind, I think? Or Deadwax, which I also recently got around to. I've also had a lot of Svengoolie on in the background while I'm proofing. The sound of a man being gently pelted with rubber chickens helps keep me focused somehow. Don't judge.
Currently Watching: One of my foster dogs screaming at her reflection in the fridge. Huh. When I take a break, today's queued movie is The Police are Blundering in the Dark (1975) - because when am I not on a horrible giallo kick?
Currently Reading: 18th century trial transcripts (research) and a slightly scary number of mss for work, but otherwise I'm trying to make room for more of my AO3 tbr pile, so I have to highlight @emungere's stunning hannigram fics (and other work!). Kept me mostly sane last month while the boiler was being replaced.
Current Obsession: See above. I recently got into Hannibal (yeah yeah, not only years late to the original run, but even late to the pandemic resurgence. At least I'm consistent.) and it's amazing how easily I'm drawn to more gore-soaked bisexual disaster comfort shows. I may or may not also be on the way to finishing some loooong overdue DA WIPs (cough feathers cough elves).
Unrelated Obsession: Rn, my heritage tomato seedlings. There's been a mild fungus gnat situation, and I'm trying to baby them through it. Last year's fancy potatoes (belle de fontay & pink fir apple) worked so well, and I'm trying to maximise what little space I have that's out of dog pee range and might even get some light, and squeeze some really heavy cropping varieties in between the gooseberries. Which is less dirty than it sounds.
tagging, ooh... @carabas, @dreadfutures, @aria-i-adagio, @1ichen, @emungere, @creator-of-chaos-and-pizza and @heniareth in a no pressure only if you want kinda way <3

Following Ryou's death, the rhetoric that Ao started repeating about "getting to the top" sounded a lot like the Neo-Magius... But what's even more fascinating to me is the way her words and actions directly mirror the Bat of Monzenbashi, the girl she used to work under prior to Crimson Resolve.
[Arc 2 Ch.8, Promised Blood branch]
Ao: "Oh, right, you can come to the very top with me, Ranka! I'll forget all about how much you hurt me back in Monzenbashi. You were just submitting to the Bat's orders back then anyway. But that's all gonna change. Now WE can make other people submit to US instead."
[Crimson Resolve, Ao ep.3]
Bat [to Ao]: "How about handing your team over to me? Juri's such a dumb bitch; it's only a matter of time before we can take her down. After that, you and I could be the ones to make use of the other magical girls."
Like, god, no wonder the remaining few Janomiya girls were too afraid to speak up against Ao. Janomiya is made up of survivors who previously belonged to Monzenbashi, where they would be tortured or even killed if they didn't live up to the Bat's expectations. Hearing the once-gentle Ao parrot the same things as the person who made them all suffer must have made their blood run cold.
There's another little similarity here:
[Arc 2 ch.8, Promised Blood branch]
Ao: "I realized something. If I truly want to find a safe space where nobody will exploit me, I'm gonna have to be above everyone else."
[Crimson Resolve, All ep.8]
Janomiya Girl C: "Will you at least regret your actions now…?"
Bat: "… It was either eat or be eaten back then. Why would I… regret it now…?"
For as vicious as she is, it sounds like the Bat acted the way she did out of necessity. Stealing grief seeds, exploiting weaker magical girls, fighting dirty, killing anyone who went against her-- she had to get comfortable doing these things, otherwise she would have been the one to suffer. Guilt and kindness were luxuries she couldn't afford.
On that note, there's a scene in CR's Ao ep.4 where Ao and Hikaru subdue the Bat and drag her back to Janomiya's base. Ao spares the Bat's life, telling her "You're going to stay right here until the war is over", to which the Bat mockingly replies:
Bat: "You really are soft. If you don't have the guts to kill, you're just going to keep getting used again and again...!"
This line serves as a great setup for Ao's arc in the main story, but the potential implications it carries for the Bat's own character are interesting too. Her belief that "having the guts to kill" is synonymous with "being strong enough to not get used" is. hm. :( We never get the Bat's backstory, but... that's not a mindset someone arrives at without having gone through something traumatic. who hurt you...
Taken with the fact that she brings up the phrase "弱肉強食" ("the weak are meat, and the strong do eat" or "law of the jungle") on a couple of occasions, it sounds like she's learned firsthand that you have to kill your conscience in order to survive in Futatsugi. But unlike Ao, the Bat's been doing it for long enough that it's second nature to her now.
An aspect of the Bat/Ao parallels that's especially interesting to me is that the more paranoid and desperate Ao gets- the harder she leans into underhanded, violent tactics to keep herself safe- the more she starts acting like the Bat. It really makes me wonder how much of the Bat's behaviour also stems from being absolutely terrified of being vulnerable.
And I mean, maybe the Bat's lines/scenes here are only meant to illustrate what a terrible person she is, but I love the idea that she used to be someone like Ao.
Like... in CR, she was pretty determined to get Ao to work for her again, which is sort of surprising when you consider that she killed three of her other underlings in Ao's MSS for being weak, and then murdered a Janomiya girl in CR for trying to resist her. I love to think that part of the reason why the Bat kept sparing Ao's life is because she saw her old self in Ao's eyes: a scared kid who's trying her best to act tough, despite knowing full well that she's a coward deep down.
Thinking that Ao nearly became the monster she feared most because the monster was just like her... Thinking that the Bat's life might have been different if she had friends to support her, like how Promised Blood came together for Ao... Both of them were driven to extremes because they so badly wanted to protect themselves, yet the Bat's path ends in blood while Ao eventually finds a way forward.
They're so similar and yet so different, a reflection of who the other could have been, and I think there's something very poetic about all of that.
