I do have intrusive thoughts and let's just say I would never actually hurt someone or goodness forbid murder them but I have intrusive thoughts that are like that. Impulsive thoughts such as deciding to have a one night stand or eating a carton of ice cream at 3am, have absolutely done and regretted it. Presumably there are people who impulsively commit murder on a whim and then feel great shame but that's pretty rare.
