KNOCKEMOUT IS FINISHED!! *SOB*
I am definitely crying rn coz my babies are done. knockemout is over!. honestly though the entire book 3 of the series didn't live up to the hype as much as the extended epilogue did..
i am severely disappointed by lucian and sloane's story beacuse idk i had my expectation real high like way high so i was kinda looking to get dissapointed. to me though the whole "let's get married and have babies" shit was soo fast and like baseless, it was as if the author forgot that the book was ending and she just dropped the whole thing in the end so...yeah to me this book was so not worth the hype or the wait. but hey that's just me and i very rarely criticize someone's writing because i know that it takes a lot of time and effort to bring something in the market so i am definitely grateful to lucy score for giving us such gems like things we never got over and the whole knoeckemout series. it was a delight to live every couple's life.
ps~ i hated the way waylay's story ended. the girl had so much potential and worth, it's like putting her just in her mom's way.

Book Review: Things We Never Got Over
Tumblr media
Non Spoiler Section
Alright. I’m just going to dive right in here. I hated—absolutely hated this book...until page 490. I’m new here, so if you don’t know, allow me to explain: I like to jump into books blind. I had no idea what I was getting myself into or really what the story itself was going to be like. I only knew that it was a romance and it was trending and I was like, heard that. Sign me up. I wasn’t expecting to hate my characters for the majority of the book.
But hang on, peeps. Bear with me a moment. If you’re anything like me and you don’t have any patience with cliched and unlikable characters, please listen to me when I tell you this: EVERYTHING HERE HAPPENS FOR A REASON.
These characters are meant to have annoying characteristics because we are supposed to watch them as they develop into a better version of themselves. Don’t give up hope! Hang in there, okay?
Without someone to hold my hand and give out kind and gentle encouragement, Lucy Score had me ready to rip my damn hair out. I was saying stuff like, “I can’t wait to tear this book a new one”, “I hate this book”, “I’m only gonna finish it so I can throw tomatoes at it and boo it off the stage”, “What theme are we even trying to preach here, Lucy???”.
Then I got to the aforementioned page 490. Everything suddenly made sense and I felt like an idiot. Because of course this author knows what she’s doing. Of course these characters were going to change. I’m astounded by how little faith I had in this book. I’m honestly so disappointed in myself.
I’m telling you all this because this book is going to frustrate you. Make you scream. Make you want to punch someone in the face. But believe me when I say I’ve never had so much fun in my entire life.
And more importantly, this story has a message that I believe everyone can benefit from. 100000% recommend.
Don’t think. Just jump. You won’t regret it.
Spoiler Section
OH. MY. GOD.
When, I say I hated Knox Morgan, I am not exaggerating in the slightest. He was rude. Arrogant. The biggest ass I’d ever met in my life.
I never quite understood the whole morally gray, grumpy/sunshine thing, but that’s just my personal preference. What I really hated about him was his refusal to develop. Even as we watched him fall for Naomi, we watched him stay stagnant for more than 75% of the book. That was a ballsy move, Lucy. I mean, truly. I was ready to give up on him.
Don’t get me wrong, Naomi got on my nerves a hell of a lot too. The instant perfect-mother thing she switched on the second she met Waylay (literally the second) was so annoying. Like we found Waylay in the motel room and Naomi’s already giving her shit about her potty mouth. Like girl, if you don’t build some rapport first. Ugh, I’ve never rolled my eyes so hard before. But then I realized that was all part of her development and it made all the weird, awkward scenes with her and Way much more tolerable because I knew Naomi was going to learn something.
By the way, I think it’s worth saying that Waylay is the only reason I pushed through. I loved her instantly and I pushed myself to finish the book because I wanted to see her get a happy ending. Because by this point, I’ve already decided that I hated both Naomi and Knox. Without Waylay, I don’t think I would have finished this book, not gonna lie. Of course in hindsight, I can say the journey was worth it, but my god. I thought about quitting so many times.
Naomi’s and Knox’s relationship (or friends-with-benefits-ship) felt like a trauma response. Knox was so horrible to her, from the very beginning. I can forgive a little snarkiness and sarcasm for the sake of a romance novel, but he really wasn’t cutting her any slack. Personally, I don’t understand how she caught feelings for a man that antagonistic towards her.
Technically, Naomi even said it herself. She felt like she was making a hard turn from the perfect guy she was about to marry to the douche-y guy who claims she’s a pain in the ass, but continues to insert himself in all her business. He might be sexy and have that whole nothing-can-penetrate-this-wall thing going on, but he was constantly degrading Naomi and making her feel bad for second guessing and wanting to dissect things. But when he’s constantly playing hot and cold, saying he wants no attachments and then proceeding to do things that definitely create attachments, how could he blame Naomi for wanting an explanation??
And when he finally admitted his feelings to himself and broke up with her???
Y’all, I was pissed. I threw the book down, folded laundry, took a shower and painted my nails. And my heart was still pounding with rage.
And then for him to still act like such a demanding douchebag and accuse her of being irrational? Bro. Knox had officially put himself on my shit list. I had about a hundred pages left and I knew—I just knew that Lucy was going to somehow put these two back together for the sake of a happy ending knowing DAMN well that Knox is undeserving. He would buy her some stupid giant coffee or get her flowers or perform some other act of idiotic grovelling and Naomi would be just as stupid and take him back.
Then, I turn to page 490. And I realize that Lucy is not stupid. This ain’t her first rodeo. We were meant to hate Knox and Naomi’s relationship. It was meant to be toxic af. Knox opened up, but they were able to admit that they just wouldn’t work and then I finally realized the meaning of the title. There are just some things a person never gets over. And Knox’s fear of intimacy was one of them. At this point, I believed that the book would end without them getting together. That we weren’t going to reward shitty behavior
But then the unexpected happened. I’m actually kind of on the fence with the last fifty or so pages, but I mean it was fast paced and interesting in ways that I truly didn’t expect so I mean...that’s something I guess. Tina finally made her appearance and I was actually kind of glad she wasn’t just a straight up asshole. I mean, don’t get me wrong. She’s an asshole. But she’s not a to-hell-with-my-kid, I-don’t-give-a-crap-what-happens-to-her kind of mother. She still worries for Waylay’s safety it’s just a matter of she doesn’t really know how to keep her safe or how to stay away from settings that would put her in danger. It’s believable which is why I liked it.
Then Knox saves the day (because of course he does) and he finally gets the kick the ass he needed to acknowledge Naomi as more than a fuck-buddy. I don’t know, like as a reader I’m happy that they get the opportunity to try out a real and healthy relationship. But as someone who also knows a thing or two about storytelling and character development, I can’t help but think it was kind of a fast turnaround. Even if there had been more time in between that scene in the office where Knox talks about his dad and saving the girls, I think I would’ve been happier.
But all in all, with all the drama and the scares and the guns waving and evil twins evil twinning, I’m just so relieved that Naomi and Knox finally get a WIN. All that toxic relationship crap was honestly so exhausting and it really is a relief to see a happy ending.
And I have to commend any writer who’s capable of making me do a hard 180 like that. Even if I don’t agree with how the book ended, I still love these characters a hell of a lot more than when I started.
Well done, Lucy. Well done.

Review: Things We Never Got Over
Tumblr media
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Summary: Naomi is the good twin. She finds herself cleaning-up her sister's mess in the small town of Knockemout while simultaneously fleeing her wedding. She runs into Knox (daddy) who resistingly helps her get on her feet and can't seem to stay away from her. Knox "I don't talk or have emotions" Morgan can't verbalize his attraction to Naomi, but continues to show up for her to demonstrate through action. Just when he freaks out and gets cold feet about defining their relationship and runs away, he is forced to confront a harsh reality that he could truly lose her.
--
Tumblr media
MMC: Knox is daddy. PERIODT. Sign me the f*ck up for a charitable, entrepreneurial, acts-of-service, dom daddy with tattoos any day. And he's a f*cking BARBER?? Say less, Lucy Score. I'm all in. The way he's always there to back up Naomi SPEAKS TO MY SOUL. I think many of you can agree that, as women who have been expected to be the beacon of their families in every way possible, it's f*cking wonderful to have a man with you who takes care of you while you take care of everyone else. THAT is why Knox will always be my daddy.
Tumblr media
FMC: Naomi's character represents that of so many women. Feeling like she has to make-up for her twin sister's debauchery, Naomi holds herself to a high standard. She doesn't back down from a challenge and rolls with the punches with class and optimism. She also, however, struggles with processing her emotions while she does it. ~Enter ANXIETY~ She's so relatable.
SPICE: Dommy Knox absolutely MAKES the spice not only with the 🥵 steamy-as-all-hell sex scenes. He also (in my opinion) brings Naomi into a kind of sub-space. He gives Naomi so many reasons to trust him in and out of the sheets which is HOT AS HELL.
For all of the strong, independent, caretaking females out there who don't have time for bullsh*t, having a man who can let your brain go completely blank during sex is a gift 🤌

Spectre review
I have seen Spectre (2015 film) for the first time today. It’s a really decent movie. The music, the humor, the dramatic scenes, all of them were really great. There were some parts of the movie where it does get boring but after the boring scenes there were epic scenes. My favorite part was when the cat landed on James Bond’s lap before the second torture happens.
Sam Smith’s song for the intro of the movie is so awesome! I love it so much. I consider the song “Writing’s on the Wall” my favorite song from Sam Smith. I don’t think I have ever heard a song like that song before. That song is *chef’s kiss* beautiful. Also some of the settings the people in the movie used were beautiful. Now I want to go to Austria, Rome, and London all in one year. Sadly I don’t have enough money at the moment but I will go there one day. Also the plot twist when C turns out to be a bad guy in the movie caught me off guard. I thought it was M that was going to be the bad guy but I was wrong. Very wrong.
I rate this movie a 7/10 for a happy ending and good acting from all the actors. I recommend you all to watch it.

Hello, and welcome to Social Downpour!!
This account is for my friend, Naomi Leahy, and I to express ourselves when we feel like we can't in the real world. When we feel like family members won't get us, and when we feel that people in our community will judge us, we'll escape to this account. The name "Social Downpour" was a creative play by Naomi. "Social" stands for society, and how we feel like we can never let our guard down, even in private. "Downpour" represents our emotions, and how sometimes, they come all at once. This account will mainly be ran by your host, Cicero Witte, but Naomi will post once in a while, too! As I've already said, I'm Cicero Witte!! I go be He/Him pronouns, and I'm queer. I'm an aspiring author and artist, and I really enjoy depicting literature! Now, enough with the silly paragraphs. This is my poem, called "Your Flower", and I had a specific intent to it, but it can be about whatever you want it to be about. When I first shared this with Naomi, she was like "OH MY GOD, CICERO, IS THIS ABOUT WHO I THINK IT IS" and I started cackling, because of course it is. Thanks for reading, and i hope you enjoy us so far!

Metamorphosis series
Shoot 1- metamorphosis - Half painted in silver from the feet up to the waist. The idea is to create an illusion of a metamorphosis stage in human form. The ending of the painting on the waist should look like its peeling off. This can be achieved by using lily’s petal or cardboard and pain them silver, stick them on the body like they are the subjects skin peeling off. And for the upper body the subject is in full glam. The glam on the face is a representation of the beautiful phase of the caterpillar turning into a butterfly. Cut holes in the backdrop like a leg hole, hand hole and head hole to represent the awakening in different body parts and then the final reveal is the whole look showing the full figure, this is all in video (see attached pic for reference). So basically, a diptych of the metamorphosis.
shoot 2- Ascending- in the red backdrop and red gels, watch Chloe Baileys performance and RuPaul drag race Ep: S13E2-19:56 for the movements and the styling.  Glitter Galore- spray got2be glue or the olive oil hair spray all over the body and the splash the glitter on the whole body. Put the glitter mask on and shoot some long exposure where you can’t see the physical form but can see the human figure. Use the plp cloth to make the bokeh effect pop as well as a curtain for some texture. Put glitter on the hair and well and style it as Josephine baker and bring her Witt too. The video movements should be very robotic and sensual at the same time. Use Rihanna’s umbrella video for reference movements. Robotic but sensual at the same time. Use Naomi’s silver shoot but not the technical styling. Make sure the cheekbones are exaggerated to give that robotic look.
shoot3 – Avatar- The idea is to have the subject bold headed and create an outline arrow with diamond pieces from the pink tree. The subject will be wearing a crystal thong to match the glittery effect from the head, and she’ll have to work her body out how to photograph the chesty area without being explicit probably stick some Carnival diamonds on the boobs on top of the nipple covers. And because I will also shoot in double exposure, this will also help to be less explicit. And the double exposure should make the diamonds stand out. The focus for this should be head shots in double exposure.  If possible, wear white contacts for this one to draw more attention to the audience and add more drama and a lot of silver bangos shot in motion/long exposure Lit the subject from the back to create a beautiful silhouette with a bokeh effect without losing details on the subject’s face and to create rays like the sun.
Visuals- stop motion style like done in the early 20’s see this reference and in cooperate it with my style especially the blinking of the lens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFbqWq8BbWA  make it slow and very sensual. Play the caterpillar. If possible, get a few second of the painting process. Should have enough time for these series will be shot in different days but start with the full body silver. Create curtains in white like the shoot I did with Nick or born to love cursed to feel but use white ones and create loads of fabric movements using a fan. If possible, project something that is cohesive with my visual idea on the fabrics.  Use the Nikon digital camera for the videos for it has that effect that I am going for.
dark surreal self-portraits; exploring themes of pain, solitude and vulnerability. Since she suffers from a chronic skin condition, Iness uses her own body as a canvas for artistic expression. She draws on her deeply personal experiences, often reflecting on growing up in a conservative and patriarchal society. The subtle elegance of Rychlik’s compositions contrasts with an underlying aura of brutality. Her conceptual photographs provoke the viewer’s imagination, rather than satisfy it.
These portraits will be exploring themes like Pain, solitude, vulnerability, and isolation. Which I have been doing with my past self portraits without revealing the back story of each shot. Whereas now, I am embracing the art of storytelling. This concept also represents my personal growth as an artist meaning, that I am drifting away from just taking a beautiful image but making it Grande and going the extra mile as well.
The
Start with Digitals and work the way up with the medium format.
The FMP is to have darkroom printed images in A3 and A4 to submit/sell for exhibitions. Self-printed instead of letting another being do it.  This has been hand printed with my hands not the process I usually use in snappy snaps. It adds to the personification.
This board is more of the representation that I am going for metamorphosis. Whereas the other board was representing the actual look, styling, set, lighting and how I envision the idea to look physically i.e., paint and set design.
This board also shows the sense that I am going for in terms of emotions, sensuality, internal conflict, emotion, movement, and anonymity. Without being too serious. Still being able to showcase; sexy, playfulness, hypnotic, elegance, playfulness. Very stylishly shot. Still connect with the viewer though.
Church girl acting loose: Mainly growing up in a place where expressing your femininity is a taboo bow, I am taking ownership of it effortless without being weary of society’s rules and the feminist society.
I understand that sensually play is and act. You can exaggerate it and take it to the top like Guy Bourdin did minus the male gaze or perspective.

(Lees verder in deel 2.)

RESUM ARGUMENT
