SaiMugi HCs

Tsumugi has made Shuichi be her living mannequin more than once. Not that Shuichi minds per se, it's nice to see her happy. But he could definitely do without being jabbed in the side with a sewing needle every now and again, though.

Whenever Tsumugi gets on herself about being plain, Shuichi is quick to take her hands in his, kiss her on the cheek, which is very efficient at shutting the easily flustered girl up.

The two came up with pet names for each other, to ease each other's self-hate.

Tsumugi calls Shuichi "Pretty Boy", "Cutie", "Honey", and "Love". Shuichi calls her "Princess", "Angel", "Sweetheart", and "Beautiful". Needless to say, it works pretty well.

Shuichi will happily attend conventions with Shuichi, either to cosplay with her as a couple or simply to cheer her on and keep the creeps away from her. Female cosplayers go through too much shit.

Saihara is also a law enforcement member, so he's always legally allowed to be armed, which comes in handy for scaring off the creeps.

Not that Shuichi would ever kill them for real, of course, although the thought has crossed his mind on more than one occasion.

Tsumugi is the first one to comfort Shuichi after he encounters something traumatic on the job. A dead body, a murder scene, a suicide, a shootout, anything. And she was the one to convince him to start therapy for those traumatic scenes he was forced to witness.

They like to cuddle at night! Namely, Tsumugi burrows herself in Shuichi's chest while Shuichi holds her there. He likes to feel like he's protecting her.

Tsumugi does most of the household chores, while Shuichi simply watches/helps. Tsumugi insists that she wants to do things for him, since only his job makes real money, save for her selling her cosplays. But that's not saying much, considering her limited audience.

Shuichi still wishes Tsumugi would let him do more and share the responsibilities, though.

So occasionally, Tsumugi is awoken to breakfast already being cooked, or she'll be sewing when she smells cleaning supplies, and she knows Shuichi is doing his share of the chores.

Tsumugi likes to do all the cliche date stuff. Y'know, candlelit dinners, cafe dates, coffee shop dates, that sort of thing. She wants their lives to be like a shoujo anime.

Although Shuichi doesn't completely understand that desire of hers, occasionally, he gives in and lets her have things the way she wants.

She's cosplayed for Shuichi for funsies. For example, wearing a revealing maid outfit and some cat ears and flustering her poor timid boyfriend on purpose.

Shuichi gets the first view of her cosplays, and occasionally she lets him make adjustments. For example, changing certain colors he thinks suit her better. But of course, no matter how revealing, Shuichi doesn't say a word about it. Her clothes aren't an invitation to be creepy, after all. So she should be allowed to wear whatever she wants, revealing or otherwise.

He also knows that creeps don't care, they'll hit on her regardless of what she's wearing.

Tsumugi once made a comment that she'd be the perfect housewife, which made Shuichi flush red at the implication. Tsumugi giggled and revealed she was only joking, of course.

Shuichi often buys little jewelry and trinkets he sees while out that reminds him of Tsumugi. Anime posters, pretty sapphire earrings, and many other things.

A very wholesome couple, really! 10/10, very sweet! :D

He loves them, they make him smile and blush, nothing big just a light blush.

Shuichi’s busy a lot and there are people around him, you want to kiss him but can’t TT

You float just out of his reach so he has to reach up to you.

Shuichi smells like the ocean! it’s super cute! you love telling him, it makes him blush.

He likes to just hold you when one of you are stressed it helps him and you.

He’s protective, and stand in front of you when he feels someone is threatening you.

You love him for this. even though most people can’t see you-

You hold hands a lot since you two can do it in public and it doesn’t look too weird for Shuichi.

You like to flirt with him in public, his reaction is the best.

“Y-y/n!” he’ll mutter under his breath blushing like crazy

“it’s true~”

You love kissing him when you’re upside down! it’s super fun.

When Shuichi gives you hand a gentle kiss it makes your heart flutter.

Even if you don’t like you’re death scars he loves them, cause they’re apart of you

He likes to run his hand against them.

You find this embarrassing

Shuichi gets you lots of stuff he loves to spoil you.

You spoil him in return getting him everything he wants

but he insists he only wants you.

You blush whenever he says this

After death, Maki Harukawa & Kaito Momota Angst

SPOILERS FOR NDRV3, CHAPTER 5‼️

Maki was accustomed to seeing people die, due to her previous job. Now, being an assassin had it’s own advantages- she got skilled in killing, meaning she could easily defend herself and kill her attacker. This also made her unempathic to deaths of any kind. However, she was not prepared for this one.

She never found herself loving someone, so she had no idea how much the death of her loved one could affect her.

After establishing that Kaito was the blackened, Maki felt like she lost self control. For once in a really long time, she broke character, letting her emotions out. It was difficult for her to get used to the idea that Kaito wouldn’t be around anymore. There was no one that could “annoy” her anymore, no one that could impulsively hug her whenever he was scared, no one that she could love. The fact that she was about to lose the first person she genuinely loved made her feel awful.

As the trial came to an end and everybody was free to leave, Maki was heading outside, when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

“Would you like to talk about it?” Shuichi asked quietly, knowing the state she was in. Maki shook her head slightly as she forced a smile, wanting to indicate him that she’ll be fine and just needs time alone. Which is theory was true, but she was far from being better just by spending time alone.

“Please know that I’m here for you, you don’t have to go through this alone, Maki.”

“Thank you.” She responded quietly yet gratefully, before returning to her path. She decided to go back in the place they all used to exercise in.

Feeling the cold grass against her back, she admired the sky upon her. She never actually took the time to admire and find peace in it, she wasn’t the type to mesmerize such “simple” and “plain” things like stars. But now, they were the only ones she had left. The only ones that could remind her of her lost lover. Maki was never the type to be emotional, but this experience had shown her that having feelings doesn’t equal with being weak. She’s always viewed things this way, which put a lot of pressure on her younger self. She used to force herself not to feel any kind of love, towards anybody, and swore to herself that she’d respect these values her entire life. But for some reason, she found herself appreciating Kaito before she could control herself not to. She tried multiple times wiping those feelings away, but only thinking of him was a comforting state of mind for her, which was already against her primary rule, but she knew she couldn’t help it anymore. She had a hard time dealing with it, not only because she didn’t knew how to handle something she couldn’t control, but because the fear of losing him always haunted her.

And now that fear aligned with reality, and despite calming down, trying to comfort herself by mesmerizing the things he used to appreciate so much while he was alive, she was still destroyed. No matter how hard she tried, it was purely impossible for her to be forgetting about him this fast, or even for accepting the fact that he was gone. She couldn’t possibly be okay with the entire situation they were put in, yet she had no way of changing it.

“I hope you’re okay, Kaito, wherever you are.” She quietly mumbled, feeling a soft wind gust slightly moving the grass surrounding her, as if the blades of grass were shivering. “I hope you’re happy now, you’re finally one with the universe.”

Shuichi never gets closer than Tenko is comfortable with.

Ever.

She sets her own boundaries, and Shuichi knows that the key to breaking down Tenko's walls is to respect her boundaries, first and foremost.

And slowly, Tenko begins to warm up to him.

Allowing him to hold her hand, no longer requesting for him to get a sex change, allowing Shuichi to sleep beside her, etcetera.

Surprisingly... Tenko is very sweet as Shuichi's girlfriend! More sweet than any of their friends could've imagined!

Sometimes, late at night, Tenko will undo her hair and Shuichi will make a comment about it looking messy. Tenko will ask him to brush her hair out.

And he does! He styles her hair and Tenko usually ends up blissed out by this, if not passed out.

Shuichi does most of the cooking, since Tenko can absolutely not be trusted around fire. However, Tenko isn't lazy, either. She does the cleaning, in return. Sue isn't very good and Shuichi usually ends up doing it again, but she tries, and that's all Shuichi cares about.

The two tend not to fight much. Shuichi values his knees, thank you.

Tenko is a sucker for the cutesy stuff she sees in anime, and tries to re-enact a lot of it. It... rarely goes as planned, if ever.

She wants to fall in a cute way and have Shuichi help her up?

...She falls on her face and ends up with a bruise.

Poor Tenko just... can't win when it comes to being cute.

Not that it matters, because Shuichi already thinks she's plenty cute, and tries his best to play along with her fantasies, anyway. Why not at least try to make his girlfriend happy?

Shuichi is a sweetheart to Tenko overall. He tries to be patient with her, knowing healing takes time. Especially from a mindset with such a vice-like grip and such toxicity as her old one.

In return for Shuichi's kindness, Tenko protects him.

Very well, if I might add.

Kokichi, Angie, and Tsumugi no longer have the opportunity to tease him. Maki no longer can threaten him. Miu can no longer flirt with him or make him uncomfortable.

Anyone who tries to mess with or harm Shuichi will find themselves on the other end of Tenko's fists.

Whenever they're out and they pass by claw machines, Tenko points and furiously demands that Shuichi win her a stuffed animal to prove his love to her.

Shuichi ends up spending twenty dollars before Tenko finally reveals that she was only joking and never actually expected anything from him.

Occasionally, Tenko will pick Shuichi up bridal style and carry him like that... in public.

This greatly flusters Shuichi, while Tenko gets to be smug about it. She's used to being the one who gets flustered in public, after all! She deserves a turn to be the flusterer, not the flusteree!

Speaking of... Shuichi compliments Tenko a lot, causing very flustered, red-faced reactions from the Ultimate Aikido Master. This leads to Tenko getting teased a lot.

Occasionally, Shuichi wakes up with nightmares due to his profession.

He sees grisly, horrific cases all the time, and there are times he can't get the screams, the cries, the wails of grieving family members out of his head.

Or worse, the times he has to be the one to inform family members that their loved one is gone. Especially young children.

During these times, Tenko's pride goes out the window completely, it seems. She brings Shuichi into her chest and runs her fingers through his hair, whispering soft words of comfort to him and rocking him in her arms like a baby.

Shuichi patches up all of Tenko's injuries that she gets from her Aikido matches, and Tenko does the same for him when he gets injuries from work, as well.

Really, they've both got very dangerous jobs, and for what-?

Tenko encourages Shuichi to eat healthy and exercise regularly, fawning over him incessantly when he does so and regularly singing his praises.

All in all, they're not perfect, but what couple is?

They love each other and wouldn't change that for the world.

And really... that's all that matters.

Kagehara(Pregame Shuichi) Comfort Alphabet

A ction - What do they do when their s/o is hurt, what action do they take?

Kage is always right there for them and he’s very good at helping patch up wounds (he has a bit of experience). He’ll take them home right away (if they weren’t already there) and straight to bed with them. He’ll take care of whatever they need from him.

B eat - What do they do when they find their s/o beaten up?

First he’ll patch them up take them home and make sure they have everything takes care of for them. Second he’ll track down whoever did it and let’s just say you can’t prove it was him. You never see the person again.

C omfort - How would they comfort s/o in general?

Lots of hugs and kisses, he’s always ready to tell you what you need to hear, hug you, kiss, and just smother you in affection. He’ll bring your favorite show or activity and stay with you for how ever long you need, no questions asked.

D ead - How do they comfort their s/o when they’re grieving?

Kage’s right by their side, he’s never not their (unless asked to leave) but even then he’s still near. He’ll reassure you that everything will be alright. You’re his beautiful angel and he’s right hear for you.

E qual - Do they get comfort back from their s/o or not?

Yes Kage gets lots of comfort back form his s/o, they’re always to help him. That is when they notice luckily for them Shuichi’s not the best at hiding his emotions you’ll notice him avoiding you when he’s upset.

F ight - How would they comfort their s/o after a fight? Are they the first to forgive?

Kage’s always ready to forgive his s/o no matter what happened he wants them to feel safe and loved even if he’s mad at them.

G ratitude - Is their s/o grateful after they get comfort?

S/o’s always SUPER grateful for the comfort Kage gives them.

H onesty - Do they tell their s/o when they need comfort?

NEVER Shuichi never wants to bother his s/o when he’s down, so he’ll just keep it in and never tell them.

Do they hide when they need comfort?

Yup, though Shuich’s not the best actor so he’ll end up just avoiding his s/o so you can tell when he’s upset.

I dentify - How do they identify when their s/o needs comfort?

Kagehara’s very attentive to his s/o so whenever they’re upset he can tell.

J oke - Do they joke when they are comforting their s/o? Does their s/o like this?

Nope Shuichi never jokes when he’s comforting his s/o, he does’t see it as the right time.

K iss - Do they kiss them when they comfort them?

Yup Kagehara gives lots of kisses when he’s comforting his s/o. They get covered in kisses.

L ong - How long does it take for them to calm down their s/o?

Kage’s actually really good at comforting his s/o so it only takes a few to 10 minutes for him to calm them down.

M ad - If they are mad at their s/o do they still comfort them?

OH you know he will, even when mad Shuichi’s always there for you, he loves you no matter what.

N ighmare - How do they comfort their s/o when they have a nightmare?

Lots of cuddles and watching whatever s/o wants even if he doesn’t like it. He’ll watch it for them and snuggle till they feel better.

O pen - Is their s/o open when they need comfort from them?

s/o is mostly open but sometimes they feel insecure about it. But no worries Kage’s always knows when you need something.

P arents - If their s/o has parent issues how do they help them?

Kage understands so he’s really good at helping comfort his s/o when things come up. and if they have to see/meet up with their parents Shuichi’s right there with you, he’ll defend you even though he terrified himself.

Q uirk - Some random thing their s/o does that always makes feel comfortable.

When ever Shuichi’s rambling about what he loves. It’s very comforting to see him really happy.

R omance - How do they comfort them after a break up? (if they weren’t dating)

He’s right there for you, he’ll reassure you that you’re the most amazing person in the world. and once you’ve calmed down you know he’ll go find you ever broke your heart and well it didn’t go well for them. He may be shy but he’s very observant and this helps him.

S urprise - Are they comfortable with surprises?

Kage’s not the best when it comes to surprises he’ll try and let his s/o surprise him if they like that, but sometimes it makes him panic-y.

T ext - Are they good at comforting their s/o over text?

OH you bet he his, Kage’s the master of everything (how he learned these skill you’ll never know) but he’s the best at it. You fell so loved when you turn off your phone, and then he’s at your door, you just love him (that is if you want him to be).

U nderstanding - How well do they understand how to comfort their s/o?

Shuichi knows everything they need and is the best at doing it. He’s right there for them.

V alue - How do they comfort their s/o when they feel worthless?

He’ll reassure his angle’s the best person in the world, you’ve helped him so much! You’re amazing! He’ll tell you so much and make you feel so loved.

W ild Card - A random comfort Headcanon.

If you can’t handle something Kage will give you his hat even though he never takes it off you loves this cause he cares that much to give you his most comforting item.

X-factor - What is one thing that they have that just comforts their s/o?

His ways with words, he may stutter a lot but Kage’s a poet when it comes to how he formulates his sentences.

Y es - What do they do for their s/o that they usually would do?

Just him asking if you’re comfortable with everything even if it can get annoying it means he really loves you and never want you to feel uncomfortable.

Z eal - If they are out how quickly do they get to their s/o?

He’s there as soon as he can screw what he was doing this is more important.
